The Grace of Pajamas
We’ve reached the end of the Christmas season. Today, Luke’s shepherds and angels yield to Matthew’s magi with their exotic gifts. Tomorrow is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. On Tuesday, with a sigh of sadness or possibly relief, we return to Ordinary Time.  As we put away our nativity sets, it may be comforting to remember John’s description of the Incarnation, which needs no crèche to…

Today’s Reflection:
We must remain grateful to God for out of mercy he does forgive, time and time again which we see in the parable of Jesus for the owner of the vineyard, that is God, continued to give his tenants, that is us, every opportunity to repent. For we cannot be saved on our own merit or without God’s forgiveness, which is something we must remember every day of our lives, because his mercy does have a limit which is clear from our readings today. Yet at the same time we have hope, for salvation is present as well as long as we adhere to the words found in our second reading from Paul, “Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

7TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME | 19 February 2023 Pontifical Work of St. Peter the Apostle (Opus Sancti Petri) "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." - Matthew 5:44 THE GOSPEL | Matthew 5:38-48 Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand over your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow. "You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." Schedule of Masses - February 19, 2023 6:00 AM 7:15 AM 8:30 AM (LIVE - #MissaAntipolensis) at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Inarawan, Antipolo City 9:45 AM (English Mass) 5:00 PM 6:15 PM For your Mass intentions, Monthly Pledge, and Love offerings, kindly visit our Parish Office. #OrdinaryTime #SAPaduaInarawan #Antipolensis #Sunday #SynodalChurch #Synod20212023 #Antipolo #Catholic (at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Inarawan, Antipolo City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoznseevsCh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“Allora ti seguirò, Gesù, perché ti lasci dietro nient'altro che luce. Come i tuoi quattro amici, lascio le barche e le piccole reti per qualcosa di più grande. Mi prenderò cura di chi cerca e soffre ed è solo; e poi più di ogni cosa custodirò il mio cuore, anche le sue parti fragili e malate, perché “da esso scaturisce la vita” (Pro 4,23)”. #loveinGod #loveinChrist #smilingismymission #bejoyfulandkeepthefaith #begratefulenjoythelittlethings #happinessisthekeytoholiness #ultreya #thelobascios #suseya #ordinarytime #domenicadellaparola2k23 #parolachesalva https://www.instagram.com/p/CntXNaaNJIt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

2nd Sunday of the Ordinary Time-  January 17, 2021
Ending prayer by Fr. Jerry Orbos SVD:
Thank You for Your presence, Lord. We need so much, to remember, to know, and to accept that You are with us always, as You have promised us. Lord, we do not know how long this pandemic will last, but we trust in You. We trust in Your wisdom, Your guidance, Your protection, and Your provision. Dear Lord, there are many things we cannot understand, we cannot explain-- but we trust in You, for You are our loving Father. Help us to trust in You more, with all our heart, and to lean not on our own understanding. Make us realize again that our understanding is small compared to what You know and understand, O God. Like little children, may we continue to listen, trust, and obey You.
This moment Lord, we pray especially for our brothers and sisters who are suffering physically. Our brothers and sisters who are burdened, emotionally. Come, Holy Spirit. Our brothers and sisters who are in the darkness, spiritually, because of sin, vices, bad relationships. Heal, also, our relationships. Give us peace, give us humility. And Lord, bless this world, that You love so much, that You gave Your only begotten Son. Jesus, stay with us, dear God, most loving Father, continue to bless, to protect, to provide for us. May we never give up on ourselves, and on one another. Like children, may we be filled with hope, expectations, and surprises. Thank You Father, thank You Jesus, thank You, Holy Spirit, and dear Mama Mary. We offer all these prayers through Christ, our Lord, Jesus.
Excerpts from the Homily of Fr. Jerry Orbos SVD
Don’t lose the child in you. Your goodness is not something from your past-- it’s something that is always in you.
Simplify things. Don’t overcomplicate.
The world is in the hands of our Lord. Learn how to TRUST His plans. If we do, then we can truly be happy-- knowing that whatever happens, good or bad, all is according to His plan. He won’t forsake us.
Being (overly) opinionated isn’t always a good thing. It would make you seem like you should always be right. There comes the sin of pride. Be humble.
Come to the Lord, just like the little children.
Don’t forget that we have a Father who loves us. We are all brothers and sisters. Let’s surrender everything and everyone like a child, to our loving Father.
The secret of true peace is our ability to LISTEN, TRUST, and OBEY God like a true child.
Continue to pray. Don’t worry about results or timing-- that’s in His hands. :)
Readings: https://olblparish.files.wordpress.com/2020/12/feast-of-the-santo-nino.pdf
First Reading (Is 9:1–6)
THE PEOPLE who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone. You have brought them abundant joy and great rejoicing, as they rejoice before you as at the harvest, as men make merry when dividing spoils. For the yoke that burdened them, the pole on their shoulder, and the rod of their taskmaster you have smashed, as on the day of Midian. For every boot that tramped in battle, every cloak rolled in blood, will be burned as fuel for flames. For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God, Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace. His dominion is vast and forever peaceful, from David’s throne, and over his kingdom, which he confirms and sustains by judgment and justice, both now and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this!
Responsorial Psalm (Ps 98)
The Lord is King; let the many isles be glad
Second Reading (Eph 1:36, 15–18)
God loves us and has made us his adopted children in Christ. Paul reminds us to live up to our dignity by leading a holy and blameless life.
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians: BLESSED BE the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved. Therefore, I, too, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all the holy ones, do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a Spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones.
Gospel (Mk 10:13–16)
PEOPLE were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Then he embraced the children and blessed them, placing his hands on them.

“Il tempo della misericordia è l’anticipo. La misericordia è la capacità che ha Dio di anticiparti. Incontrare uno come Gesù fa credere nell’uomo; un uomo così libero crea libertà; il suo amore senza condizioni crea amanti senza condizioni; incontrare un Dio che non fa prediche ma si fa amico, fa rinascere”. #loveinGod #loveinChrist #smilingismymission #bejoyfulandkeepthefaith #happinessisthekeytoholiness #ultreya #thelobascios #suseya #ordinarytime #fall2k22 https://www.instagram.com/p/CkU3QBHIett/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
