So, I've reignited my interest in Mao Mao and recently listened to Not Evil from Lego Movie 2

Its au time.

This is based around me imagining Snugglemagne singing Not Evil, and then trying to justify why, who he'd be bribing etc.

To start with, for one reason or another, Mao Mao, Badgerclops, Bao Bao, Tanya Keys, and Shin Mao all wind up in the same area for reasons I haven't worked out.

Instead of smacking into the Ruby Pure Heart, they all stumble through the cloak into the valley, and are introduced to King Snugglemagne and his commander, Adorabat.

His super intense and protective, but apparently silent, heavy helmet wearing commander.

(She's also aged up a bit but at this point in the story it's unclear how old she actually is, for good reasons i promise)

Snugglemagne explains his concerns about monsters or villains finding the valley, and wanting to hire some extra muscle, since his only effective guard is Adorabat, and that's less than ideal for reasons he won't go into.

Mao Mao and Shin get suspicious, so Snugglemagne breaks into song, with Adorabat DJing.

🎶King Snugglemagne, yes that's me, the least evil King in history🎶

He offers Badgerclops the best gaming set up ever, Tanya the best bounty hunting equipment she's ever seen, Bao Bao all the treats he can eat, and Shin half of the valley's wealth.

Mao Mao remains suspicious, especially towards the end of the song when Snugglemagne's eyes flash purple for a second.

Shenanigans ensue, until Mao Mao persuades everyone to realise how weird it is that Snugglemagne is looking for protectors for a hidden kingdom, from a bunch of randos, who are all much more likely to attract attention just by being there because they're all chaotic as hell.

And especially since the king already has an extremely effective commander, one so focused and strong that she gets a compliment from Shin, so Mao Mao is also spiralling.

They hatch a plan to deal with the King, which involves Mao Mao drawing Adorabat away and fighting her to keep her distracted.

(And also for him to prove he can beat her in a fight and get some much needed approval from Shin, who's been his lovely self this whole time).

They fight, Mao Mao gets his ass handed to him.

He almost goes over a cliff, but Adorabat saves him, but he's upset and gets in a decent punch, knocking off her helmet.

She starts shrieking at him, but he's distracted by the realisation that she's 15.

He has beef with a teenager.

(He got beaten up by a teenager).

She finally explains what's actually happening.

The Ruby Pure Heart has been trying to control the king, telling him to go forth and conquer, take advantage of the Ruby's pwer and the Sweetiepie's cutness to take over the surrounding lands. Snugglemagne has been trying to fight it for years, meanwhile Adorabat became his commander a short while ago to help keep an eye on him.

It's getting worse, so Snugglemagne hatched a plan to attract trouble to the valley, trouble that could damage the Ruby and silence it.

Adorabat has been stewing in what turned out to be uncharacteristic silence, since he feels bad enough about depending on a kid to help him at all, and doesn't want to risk her life trying to get a huge monster or some supervillain to attack them.

Mao Mao finds this all convoluted and insane, not to mention they could have explained this instead of letting them believe Snugglemagne is evil.

Adorabat points out the song, which he helped wrote and was very proud of.

Mao Mao points out the song was super suspicious, but yes it was a good song.

Then he nervously says that the others are gonna attack the king.

Adorabat is Very Angry.

She drags Mao Mao back just in time to stop everything, when a new problem arrives.

The skyrates have arrived, having noticed the groups shenanigans, and realised this is where the legendary Ruby Pure Heart is hidden.

Everyone jumps into action, Mao Mao trying to protect Adorabat, who is doing fine.

Long story short, the ship slams into the Ruby.

It only makes a cracking, but that seems to be enough to get it's voice out of Snugglemagne's head.

Orangusnake loses most of his crew, aside form the idiots we all know a love, and swears vengeance.

Tanya and Bao Bao take off after getting their rewards, not wanting to stick around for clean up.

Shin decides to head off too, to check in on his daughters.

Mao Mao hides his disappointment. Badly.

He and Badgerclops stay and are appointed the valley's sheriffs, to take s9me of the pressure off of Adorabat.

She is not pleased.

What follows is further misadventures. Fighting off the skyrates and monsters. Mao Mao realising that Adorabat has grown up too fast and reminds him of himself in the worst ways.

He and Badgerclops put on some effort to help her enjoy life little more and slow down.

Meanwhile, the voice returns, though quieter, and Snugglemagne starts to worry that cracking it wasn't enough...

This is basically a poorly drawn illustrations of what happens in a fanfic that I wrote in a week.

The full moons light shined off the ruby of pure heart, as Thousands of stars scattered across the night sky. A large, round, dark figure walked through the poorly lit streets of pure heart adorning a black hood to cover their self. They walked into a dark alley full of over filled dumpsters then leaned against the brick wall, waiting.

Another figure appeared wearing a tattered old black hood to cover there face and body. Even though the hood you tell that they were huge with large sharp shoulders and two bright yellow eyes. They too walked into the alley and leaned up against the wall alongside the other figure.

“Pst, you got the stuff?” The first figure whispered.

“Depends, you got the stuff?” The second figure asked.

The first figure reached their robotic arm into a bag hidden underneath their hood, they then pulled out a large, juicy, golden brown rotisserie chicken sealed in a large ziplock bag, Even though the bag you smell it’s beautiful aroma.

“Homemade with more than salt and pepper?” The second figure asked

“Yeah, made it myself with 5 different spices and 3 kinds of herbs.”

The second figure audibly licked their lips and making a hissing sound while doing it. “Perfect, it’s just what we need.”

The figure reached into their pocket on its hood and pulled out a small bag full of green dried leaves.

They quickly exchanged their bags. The first figure opened the bag with the leaves and took a good wiff. A musty smell filled their nose then they smiled.

The figure quickly pointed their robotic arm at the other figure, now transformed into some kind of laser.

“Don’t forget our other half of our deal dude.”

“Yeah! Don’t attack for the next two days, we get it!” The second figure said panicked

“Good!” The first figure said as they powered down their laser arm and walked out the alley and down the street towards the mountain were the sharifs department stood.

Sometimes I think about how Alex Brightman's rendition of Sir Pentious sounds more like Orangusnake from Mao Mao: Heroes Of Pure Heart than Stamper's from the pilot.
