I love when the sun looks like a giant orange early in the morning

Last year there was a forest fire that destroyed over 150 homes. My mother and step father had gone out that day, and I couldn’t get in touch with them. Worried, I went outside and watch the sky fill with smoke covering the sun, as I got emergency alert after emergency alert evacuating people from their homes.

While I stressed, I painted what I could see: the giant plume of smoke looming over me. I painted and listened to my next door neighbours continue their cook out. No fire was gonna stop them. Their upbeat attitude helped me stay calm.
