- Master of The Crows: Timothy Brian Anderson -

Every trio needs a supervisor to watch over them in case they do anything stupid to get themselves killed or worst, expelled. Meet;

Professor Timothy Brian Anderson - a teacher who acts as the supervisor to the main trio; Sadie, Hector, and Jamie. Professor Anderson is a passionate history teacher at Kingshaven Academy.

Upon first impressions, Professor Anderson stands out with his unique flame-like hair that moves under its own laws of psychics with sentient eyes. Nicknamed as; The Crows. When these eyes are extracted from his head, they will take the form of a star that moves akin to a bird.

These Crows function as Timothy's extra set of eyes and ears to gather intel and observe. The Crows can be seen coming and going as the please. Occasionally, they also act as combat assistance but mostly for emergency getaways. The Crows also have two different eye colors with different signs.

Cyan/ light blue - is their neutral color. When in this state, the Crows are mostly calm and mind heir own business. They would be seen hunting food; small rodents, baby birds or eggs, insects, carrion, seeds, nuts, berries and corn. Additionally, they eat small fish.

Orange - is their color of aggression and hostility. When in state, the Crows will actively hunt for their assigned enemies and attack in groups. (Some would say; "in a Murder")

The Origins of The Crows are still Unknown

As an individual, Professor Anderson is described as eccentric. He loves sharing history and he's a good oracle of information on anything and everything his Crows can find due to his unique skills.

He is also feared for his strictness and his infamous; Thousand Eyes Glare. As the Supervisor of The Lightstone Club; the club that Sadie, Hector and Jamie joined. Timothy served as; their driver, negotiator and on occasion. As backup. He's a respected teacher that helped make History fun and you might even get to pet his Crows.

Brian Froud is my favorite artist. I’ll never forget the summer of 2020. I spent it on the river getting to know The Faeries Oracle Deck, written by Jessica MacBeth and illustrated by Brian Froud. When I bought the deck, I had no idea that it would unlock an innocence within me that i thought to be dead and gone. There is magic in these images. So much magic, wonder, brilliance and beauty. Brian Froud gives us a face to attach to the Fae, nature spirits and elementals. It’s as if he’s giving us a peak into a realm that absolutely exists around us, but cannot be seen with the naked eye. Maybe it’s not important that we see the Faeries, maybe feeling them with our heart is what really matters. The Faeries Oracle Deck gave me permission to let myself believe in faeries/nature spirits/elementals etc. I spent an entire summer on the shores of the river, exploring the deck and talking to the Faeries around me. At first, I felt silly and stupid for talking to the air. I think we’re conditioned to believe that it’s seen as silly and mentally unstable to believe in such things as an adult. But it didn’t take long before I began to feel something different and unusual, in the best way. The empty air began to feel more full and alive. By talking to the Faeries, I was inviting their presence. I felt them all around me and began to see them with my minds eye. I regained my childlike innocence and sparks of creative inspiration were popping off left and right. I connected to a source that I would not have connected to if not for Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth. And for that, i am forever gratful, beyond belief or words.

There came a time when life resumed after the pandemic. I didn’t get to go to the river as often as usual. One day I went back after being away for a while. I was kind of devastated to discover that what was once a magical place full of invisible life now felt empty and vacant. I couldn’t feel the Faeries anymore and i chalked it up to it all being in my mind to begin with. It discouraged me for a little while until I decided to put effort in trying to connect to them again. Maybe it is all in my mind, or maybe.. just maybe, the Faeries were pissed at me for leaving them for so long. Turns out that they’re a lot like us, according to the Oracle deck, the Faeries take things personally, and you should never break the promises you make to them. I broke a few promises to the Faeries, and I had to work for their forgivness so that they may grace me with their presence again. Eventually they did, and I haven’t lost them since.

This could all just be the ramblings of a 29 year old chick who so desperately wants Faeries to be real. I could be delusional, mentally ill or silly. Or maybe Faeries exist when you allow yourself to believe that they do, and interact with them like you would an old friend. Maybe allowing yourself to believe in magic is what makes it real in the first place. One thing I do know, is that i want my life to be full of magic and possibility, because that makes life worth living to me.

✧ Hierarchy in The Collective AU ✧

𖦹⭒°｡⋆𖦹 A Creepypasta AU by The Lady Oracle 𖦹⋆°｡⭒𖦹

a/n: The hierarchy throughout the Collective! This is a LONG one! But it's the foundations that have developed my AU into what it is today. If you read through all of this, I'll personally give you a kiss on the mouth!

✧ Hierarchy ✧

I have always wondered, 'What's the difference between the Proxies that we know and love (Toby, Kate, Masky, Hoodie) and the regular Creeps (Jeff, BEN, Eyeless Jack....etc....)?' To help build the world, I have established a general Hierarchy that helps separate the characters!

✧ Seers ✧

At the very top of the hierarchy is the Seers. The label is a general term for powerful, ancient beings who have been residents of the land from the very beginning. They can see everything that happens throughout the land. There is no escaping them. Seers are never human, and there are only so many. For example, the fungus known as the Occultatumycete is itself is a Seer. It has the ability to sense the happenings that occur on its soil. It is uncertain if there is more than one Seer, or if the Occultatumycete is an amalgamation of many.

Seers are anonymous, sometimes they go without names. They can be depicted in art and culture, but are usually highly regarded as deities or gods by Acolytes.

✧ Acolytes ✧

Second on the totem pole of the hierarchy are the Acolytes. Acolytes are the assistants to the Seers, but do not let their name fool you. These beings are much more than servants or cultists.  Oftentimes, it is these individuals that have the true authority over the land. They are named, they have followers, and they are usually quite the force to be reckoned with. For example, Slenderman is an Acolyte to the Seers. Acolytes perform ceremonial duties, often rituals or sacrifices. 

Acolytes, whether knowledgeable or not, create an unbreakable pact with the Seers. Their deal typically goes along the lines of; for immortality and unmeasurable power, you will serve the Seers with blood. What one chooses to do with it, so long as they continue to abide by the Seers and their land, is up to the Acolyte. 

Acolytes can be Monsters, Creatures, Horrors, or Humans…the Seers aren’t very picky. However most of the Acolytes for the Seers these days have been around for a long time and are very well established. 

Acolytes build their own totem poles, putting themselves at the top. They pick and choose who they allow into their circles, and pick and choose who to bring under their rule. 

✧ Proxies ✧

Underneath the Acolytes, we have Proxies. Proxies work for the Acolyte, and their involvement with the Seers is dependent on what the Acolytes want their Proxies to know. For example, in my AU, Tim, Brian, and Toby are Proxies for the Operator, and they are not even aware of the Seers existence.

Proxies are an extension of the Acolytes, and in many ways they reflect their masters. Proxies are strong. They show the most prowess out of anyone who might come to aid their Acolyte, and oftentimes are sought out rather than adopted. Sometimes Acolytes will even gift their Proxies special abilities or powers of their own.

Acolytes tend to use their newfound abilities to search for mortals with specific traits to be their Proxies. After all, they require only the best to do their sinful deeds. 

How the Proxies are treated depends on who they serve under, and how much they know about the hierarchy depends on that as well. To most Proxies knowledge, the hierarchy ends with their Acolyte at the top. 

✧ Denizens ✧

Denizens, Residents, and Specimen….these labels all fall underneath this tier in the hierarchy. In the simplest of terms these individuals are simply occupants of the land that the Seers overlook. Denizen is the most common term, and often means an individual who has been accepted into the woods (explanation on what it means to be 'accepted' will be revealed in a separate post) Denizens can be human, animal, or anything in between. Once they are accepted into the land, their fate is determined on their decisions and the Acolytes. 

Even simpler put; Denizens exist simply because the land allows them to, and depending on the circumstances they can be spared favors. 

Now, this tier brings a variety of different circumstances. Who are these individuals? What role do they typically play? Well the answers are just as varied. 

Sometimes, Acolytes will fight over Denizens. Depending on the certain skill sets a Denizen may come with, Acolytes will sometimes go out of their way to recruit Denizens to their domains. Sometimes Acolytes treat Denizens as children, sometimes Acolytes treat Denizens as slaves, servants, or civilians. 

Denizens can also just exist within the land. Whether it be an animal simply existing within the grounds, or a poor lost soul who will die to the forces of nature, these Denizens serve a special role in fueling the messed up circle of life and death that is the Collective. 

✧ Outliers ✧

The final category would have to encapsulate any other creatures who dwell throughout the land that are outside any particular tier of the hierarchy. Individuals referred to as Monsters, Creatures, or the Horrors often fit into this category. These beasts roam the land and do not commit themselves to the Seers. They simply exist to create chaos, misery, and destruction. They can be incredibly powerful forces of nature, and can even be known to cause death and calamity in people who simply get too close to them. 

At first glance, Monsters and Creatures might seem like the same category. However, these two labels are intentional. Entities labeled as ‘Creatures’ have some sort of sentience, while entities labeled as ‘Monsters’ are feral beasts in which there is no reasoning or compromising with them. Creatures are smarter than Monsters, and love to play with their food. Creatures will be able to outsmart their victims, and can lure them with traps and other tactics. 

It’s also important to note that Monsters are typically more believable or conceivable than Creatures. For example, when being attacked by a Monster, one might be able to list animalistic qualities like sharp teeth, ravenous claws, or might credit their abilities and destruction to that of wild animals like wolves or bears. While Creatures are hard to grasp and nearly impossible to explain. Think eldritch in nature, or existentially dreadful. 

The Horrors is the name given to the unnatural aura that exists throughout the Collective. It refers not only to the mystic and supernatural energy of the land, but also all of the dangers that reside in the woods - from hauntings to otherworldly horrors to catastrophic forces of nature. 

If an individual is left to their own devices, without knowledge, protections, or blessing from an Acolyte or Seer, the individual will succumb to madness. If the Collective does not see the Denizen as serving a purpose to its insatiable bloodlust, it will simply dispose of the individual. What the Collective does with the remains of said individual is up to chance. Sometimes Denizens can turn into despicable entities or monsters, sometimes they are just left for dead. 

The Horrors can be a concept, but sometimes you can see or hear them. Whether it be the ghastly shadowy figures lurking around the trees, the whispers infiltrating your brain, or the demonic screams and screeching in the distance at night, the threat of horror is always present within the Collective.

I did another oracle card reading tonight, with my Brian Froud Faerie deck. I've never thought much about these cards' meanings in the 20 years since I bought this dang deck. Like, just a little bit at first, but it got heavy.

I've noted the card positions and orders, but ascribing meaning to the cards is taking longer. I've been typing it out for about an hour or so, and I'm only on the 4th card. Just looking at the image, describing what I see, intuiting the vibes.

I've got 15 cards total in this spread, which I sorta made up and combined with another one in the book. The art is intense. I'm getting a little scared by how intense - much like confronting painful memories and topics in counseling.

I have 2 other decks I wanted to do a reading with tonight, too. I'm so bad at time management. But I'd like to return to this, especially if I'm not looking up the meanings before I write out the "vibes". It's been a really good exercise in creative writing. But I also see my own biases, knowing my current concerns are affecting how I'm "reading" these cards. It's a lot of the same as the Grail Oracle reading.

Positive note: I'm leaving off for the night on a really good card. It feels like comfort. It has faith that everything will work out right, that it is proud of me and trusts I will make it through all this. *gestures vaguely* I really needed that right now, to remember my faith in myself.

If I Could Only Keep 10 Decks

I simultaneously love and hate questions like this. On one hand, it makes you evaluate everything and look at what's really important to you. On the other hand, thinking of letting things go sucks. But when I looked at my decks, I found that the choices were easier than I thought they would be. I decided to choose 5 tarot decks and 5 oracle decks for balance. I'll start with the tarot cards.

Tarot Cards

Sacred Rose Tarot

We're starting at the very beginning. This is the deck that my dad bought me for my birthday when I was 12. I had seen tarot used on TV or a movie, and was completely obsessed with it. All I wanted that year was a tarot deck. So Dad took me to a metaphysical store called The Sphynx in Midtown Atlanta, and bought my first deck. It was really hard to learn on, but it's incredibly precious to me. I couldn't let this deck go if I tried.

Pamela Colman Smith Commemorative Rider Waite Smith

I ordered this deck from the UK before the American version came out. And I'm glad I did, because the colors on the American version are washed out and dull. I also trimmed the white borders off, and edged this deck in black. It looks great and it feels really good to shuffle. It's my ride-or-die deck. I use it to read at DragonCon and any other events because it's just such a good reader. It loves to read for other people, but it doesn't really read for me well at all. I'm OK with that. I think that you need a deck that's primarily for other people. It's my travel deck that goes everywhere in my purse with me!

Thoth Tarot

I bought this as a study deck and forgot about it for a few years. I read somewhere that the 3 of Cups was associated with Persephone, and I was hooked! I started studying it here and there when I got a chance, but never really did a deep dive. Then, in 2022, I used it for my daily draws every day, and I learned a lot. I love this deck and its layers of symbolism. I should use it more, but I love having it near me. I could spend years studying this deck and never get tired.

The Forhaxa Tarot

I love this deck for a few reasons. First, the art is absolute perfection. It's so complex and layered. Second, it's based on Swedish folklore. I don't know most of the references, but it makes me want to study the tales. Third, it was given to me by my awesome husbear. A trifecta of awesome!

The Alleyman's Tarot

What can I say about the Alleyman's Tarot? If you know, you know. It's just so fuckin' COOL. It's a mixed deck of cards from different artists that come together to make a jumbled, crazy mess of fantastic art. And you're encouraged to bend the cards (I could never), write on the cards (I have), and even get rid of the cards you don't like (I just set them neatly aside). The Alleyman has a few other neat tricks up his sleeve, including a dice set (that reads really well), and he's coming out with some oracle decks as a Kickstarter early next year. LOVE!

The Faeries Oracle

This is one of my oldest decks. I can't remember exactly when I bought it, but It wasn't that long after it was released in 2000. I just love Brian Froud. And believe it or not, this deck is a good reader. The messages are deep and meaningful. I don't read with it often, but when I do, it always reads true. I love it!

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards

I really don't know much about reading tea leaves, but these cards are just cool. They're small and round, and they come with a huge bag that you can 'shuffle' them in. I should definitely use these more than I do, but if I had to make a choice about my 10 decks, they would definitely make the cut.

The Arcane Bullshit Oracle

This deck is an irreverent collection of weirdness and I love it. Again, the husbear bought it for me, and that gives it a special place in my heart, but I honestly love how this deck thumbs its nose at how serious cartomancers can take themselves. It's a big 'fuck you' to anyone who can't take a joke, and I'm here for it.

Seasons of the Witch Samhain Oracle

This deck is MOODY AF. The art is stunning in shades of black and grey with pops of red, and the messages are creepy and eerie like you would want in a Samhain deck. And the red edges? COME ON. Beautiful. This deck is so much better than the Yule version, which screws everything up with all the thys and thous that are misused. It really begs to be used in the dark half of the year. The Mabon and Beltane editions are really great too, it's a shame the Yule oracle is written so weirdly. I'm sure I'll still collect all the sabbats.

The Herbal Astrology Oracle

This is still a pretty new deck to me, and I admit I haven't delved into it like I would like. But there's just SO MUCH TO LEARN and dive into with this deck. It's deep. And the first time I read with it, it gave a really intense reading that I won't go into details about because it hasn't come to pass yet. I can tell that this deck is accurate and will give good messages, though. I could spend years on this deck and still feel like I have more to learn. And the art is stunning! ******** So that's it! PILE 1 – TW: slavery, religion.

Who were you? “Spirituality and Religion”

In your past life you were someone that was truly into religion (possible spiritualism). I got the “biblical” card at the back of the deck too. These two cards tell me that in your past life you were someone religious, someone that almost devoted their life to religion. This experience has surpassed your past death and it still inside of you. As you were present in the time of Jesus and of Moises, you do feel inside of you the truth. And I think you won’t agree with the actual religious texts because you know it did not happen like that. You my have felt an opposition to actual religion because it lies.

 With the next point on the reading, I will explain the suffering this brought you and why you may reject religion.

What did you do? “Imprisonment and slavery”

This card tells me that you were persecuted and imprisoned for your believes. I think you were in a period where your religion was not accepted. I’m feeling the beginnings of Christianism in the Roman Empire. You could have possibly been a slave or suffer a really dark life that still has a hold on you. (I kind of feel a pressure on my hearth, do you suffer from anxiety or fear the dark and small rooms? It may be related to your past life). You were mostly always in a dark room, not just because of slavery but because you could not practice your religion in freedom. I think religion has brought a lot of pain to you, but its time to reconnect with this part of your life and stop with your opposition. Try to connect with spiritualism and religion in a deeper way. No one can hurt you nowadays.

What challenges did you face? “Trees”

The trees card in my opinion, is a clear reference to freedom. The trees just want to go up and up. Free from the trunk that unites them to the earth. For some of you, I think this also has to do with religion (the Celtic one). These trees tell me that even if you were in such a religious ambience, you were not able to communicate with the trees (the religious people) or express your believes. Someone was holding you from that life, from being able to communicate spirituality, with God even. Clear reference to the imprisonment that you suffered.

How did you die? “Mother” TW: not for sensitive people.

I have two options for this pile:

1) You died while giving birth. If this is your case, one way to end it is that you must stop being scared to children or motherhood, creating a family is not that bad.

2) Your mom caused your death indirectly. I feel that somehow all this energy of being locked up in a place could be your mom’s fault as in she did try to protect you but failed. She was too protective of you and thought that your ideas were not right. Her pressure took a toll on you.

Who were you? “Atlantis”

Wow, this is intense. You were someone from Atlantis, someone close to the Greeks. You were from an old civilization close to the sea. Atlantis have always reminded me to the Minoans. I think that sometimes you feel the pull to the ancient eras and think about how marvellous it would have been to life in a city like Atlantis. It’s possible that in this life you suffer from phobia to the sea or that you love it, no middle term.  You were also peace lover, so you may be a pacifist or someone that moves a lot for social causes. You were an idealist.

What did you do? “Boats”

I think you were a sailor, someone that investigated the sea. You were someone free and clever.  The sea has this pull on you. Maybe you even get random dizziness from time to time, to remember your soul a boat’s movement. At first, I got the idea that you went into the sea to trade and to kind of explore new territories, the world was still new at that time. And you met a lot of foreigner civilizations, even the Egiptians.

What challenges did you face?  “Monk”

The idea that I get from this card is that you put yourself trough a lot of vows. Self-vows that tied you up on a lot of things that you wanted to do. In the past, to get on ships, sailors had a lot of rules (nautical vows) as “do not let women get in the ship” or “my life belongs just to the sea” or something like this. I think it will relate to every person reading this in a different level, but I think, that in general, everyone was just to focused on the sea life to try to construct a life outside of it (no spouse, no kids, no family). To try to break these vows you just must reject them in your head or out loud. Reject it in all dimensions.  Follow your past life dreams now that you can.

How did you die? “Forgiveness”

You did not want to forgive. You clung to anger and madness. You died like a true pirate. I think you died while being angry at someone. This madness is represented in this life trough possible hypertension, falling into addictions and insomnia. I think that with the past cards you could possibly suffer from vertigo disease. You need to forgive in this life too. I think you could have died in the ship from thirst. Lost in the sea and looking at the sky, a few birds following the ship to rest from long trips.

Who were you? “Karmic relationship”

This card does not truly answer the question but there’s an obvious story going on. You are someone that has reincarnate a few times. In recent past lives you have always reincarnated with the same people (it has happened at least once). Your job had something to do with being a healer or a witch (working with energies). You were a lover, a tragic lover, someone who had not a reciprocated love (maybe, not because the other person did not love you).

What did you do? “Unrequited love”

I think someone tried to bring both of you apart. There was a betrayal that you still have to heal, a love-relationship that you still have to live. This has affected your actual life and you must not have had a lot of relationships. You do not trust in love, you do no trust in yourself. There’s insecurity in love. You are afraid of love and trust and confidence. You would rather be alone that to try.

What challenges did you face? “Galactic”

This is really interesting!!! This card is telling me that in this past life could have been the first one in Earth, that your past life was the first in Earth. Your soul has lived outside of this Earth and dimension. That’s why you had so many problems with love and marriage, you were just not used to it. You must have thought that humans were violent and aggressive creatures. You were confused about how humans worked, and you did not see compassion or friendliness in them. Your soul work in this life is to trust in them and in their love.

How did you die? “High priestess”

I think people around you did notice that you were not someone from Earth, that you were a witch or a worker of some type. You were “galactic”. I think you will be really inclined toward astrology and the stars. I think you tried to teach them what you knew, what was carved and printed into your soul. They did not like it, I’m sorry. Who were you? (Phobias)

This card is telling me that you are kinda blocked in the sense that’s not easy to reach your past lives for others, you may have a lot of phobias related to past lives that do not leave me get in. However, I’m inclined to say that this aura is medieval. You were someone that was not in complete control of your life, that scares you nowadays. You have no confidence because of certain events that happened in the past.

What did you do? (Vows)

In your past life, you were someone that I think, was forced to adopt a lot of rules and vows, I think it’s a more religious ambience. Such as vow of poorness, abnegation, even selflharm (I will explain in the next section). It’s like you were summered into some cult; it may not even be a cult but a really extreme and strict society. Oh, wait, maybe you were close to some of the holy wars (crusades). The Knight templars. It was a really hard time to be alive.

What challenges did you face? (Medicine-man/ witch-doctor)

I think that the challenges you had to pass were related to your health. You were never attended; your scars did not matter at all. Health was not important at that time, but what I think it’s the worse is that some of you could self-inflict some of the pain or the scars. As if it was a divine punishment or a way to show your value and discipline.

This has correlations to the other cards, your death was caused due to the holy wars, due to the Knight templars. I think one of the knights may have killed you or that you were moved out aggressively of your house. This has to do with a knight, a cruel medieval war.

Who were you? “Live in community”

I think this past life was your first life in Earth, before it you were just living in the spiritual realm. You were a “galactic”, a spirit of some sort. You were born in a lovingly family, (somewhere around the ends of the 19th century for some of you). I see old houses and mansions. It was a really close community. You were just a baby; I think you were kind of the spoiled one in the group.

What did you do? “Baby”

I think you did not have the chance to take a lot of important decision, you were just worried about eating and sleeping. You did not develop your senses enough to be able to take decisive choices. I kind of see this vision of someone looking at a window, at the sky in a peaceful way, as if I was a baby in a crib looking up. Somehow, discovering for the first time what was around me.

What challenges did you face? “Trees”

I think that your main challenge was that you were not able to grow. You did not get as tall as you must have. I think you were also, a curious kid (the majority of you were boys in this past life). I see you trying to stand up and run in a garden or in the shore of the forest. Getting close to some trees, you may feel an intense connection to nature in this life. You may feel really comfortable in it.

How did you die? “Wars and battles”

As it says in the card, I think you died in a war. I kind of see the idea of different tribes (more inclined to Celtic or native Americans) fighting between them. It’s not a direct injury of a gun, but maybe, as you were young your body was not able to endure the consequences of a war. But, I have to say that your first years were really happy and that you were a really loved child.

Who were you? “Asia”

You were from the Asian continent!! Vietnam and the Tibet are really hitting my brain. I see you as someone that had to wear their typical clothes, yellow clothes. I think some of you could be attracted to this continent because of their culture ( I said culture, not just K-pop and Anime…). This connection has to do with their religion too, I kinda think your principles will relate to Hinduism (dharma), because you were like that in the past. It’s a fulfilling feeling of peace and spiritualism.

What did you do?  “Arts”

You were someone that enjoyed music, I think you played a traditional instrument, something with cords. You had beautiful and fast hands (do you have any marks on them in this life)? It was traditional music, so so beautiful, I can kind of hear light and high notes. You did this for a life, I think you played in the street or in some bars/restaurants that hired you for a show. ( I have been investigating; the instrument could be a guzheng or a tibetan lute).

What challenges did you face? “Orphan”

I think you grow up without your parent’s help. You could have lost your parents at a young age, or they could have broken off their contact with you. I think you had to survive of your own. I think you had to panhandle in the streets. And you asked from house to house for something to eat. This way you met your soul family, people that adopted you and teached how to play these instruments. I see an old Asian man with a bit of a bear and wrinkles around their eyes, tan skin, so they may have been farmers.

How did you die? “Father”

I think it was the betrayal of your father, the one of bloodline. I feel that he was not a good father. He felt jealous of your good luck, of the fame you achieved while making music. He never saw you as his son?? I think he was a bad person, I think he did not trust your mother and did think you were not his son (like, your mom cheated on him). There’s a lot of work you have to do in relation to your parents, I think you have to forgive them for your own well-being.

For Pathfinder 2e, which I know a lot better...

Rachel is probably an animal order druid. Fights with animal companions, uses powers to make them stronger, and in the fluff is sworn to avoid and prevent unnecessary animal cruelty but is still free to hunt for meat.

Lisa is an investigator, the class where you literally get to ask the DM questions. Their main combat feature is using their Analysis Powers to figure out the enemy's weaknesses while their non-combat features are all centered on figuring out stuff they probably shouldn't know.

Brian is hard but I think fighter is a good choice? At the very least if you asked him what class he wanted to play he'd say fighter.

As the foremost expert in Alec Studies you can feel free to correct me here but I think he'd be a sorceror. You get to sit in the back and do cool magic with no studying but also it's passed down from one's parents and that would definitely be a whole thing for him to deal with.

Taylor would 200% be an oracle. They're a magic class where you get your power from a horrible curse that consumes you as you draw on it but also gives you niche advantages. Not sure which oracle type since none of them really fit but if anyone is gonna go "hah, by intentionally making my curse so bad I can't speak and can barely think I can now use my Curse Powers to defeat you" it would be Taylor.

Aisha as a rogue is pretty spot-on aestheticslly but I feel like the way rogues work mechanically in PF2e doesn't fit her great? Like yeah they can do the whole sneak attack thing but their main job is to be the skill monkey. I'm playing one right now and at level 3 I am trained in literally everything and have expert proficiency in 2 skills. That's why I'd probably go for a magus (dedicated gish class) with the rogue multiclass archetype for added sneaking. No justifications for this one, my gut feeling is just that she'd be a gish.

Your post has got me rereading some early Oracle stuff and now I am crying about Kim Yale.

She really was everything, wasn't she?

Yeah, Kim Yale is one of my comic industry heroes. I don't think people realize how much of Barbara Gordon's continued relevance as a character after The Killing Joke we owe to her. She was a one-woman whirlwind of determination to do better by the female characters of DC than the men who saw them as disposable, and she deserves SO much more credit than she gets for it:

The Bat office was done with Batgirl at that point. Barbara no longer fit into their plans. Kim and I asked if we could have her and we were told that. So we re-created her as Oracle. To us, it was important that the act have consequence. We didn’t want Barbara to magically recover. Given the violence she had endured, we felt she would be paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. However, we felt she could still be a hero.........Kim and I felt that, if we did the job well, Oracle could become an important part of the DCU. It solved writing problems for other writers; how did their protagonist learn a necessary plot point? They went to Oracle. She went on to become a valued member of the Justice League and led the Birds of Prey in their own book.

The last story that Kim and I worked on together before she died was Oracle Year One, drawn by the wonderful Brian Stelfreeze. We showed that year as Barbara made the transition from broken hero to dynamic Oracle. She became a strong and much loved icon for the disabled community. In making her a hero again, Oracle allowed others to heal with her. The reader healed with her. -John Ostrander, "Savaging Barbara Gordon"

Almost immediately, Kim Yale had a problem with [The Killing Joke]. Discussing her dislike of the treatment of Batgirl in the issue with her husband, John Ostrander, the two formulated a plan to address what would happen next for Barbara. As Ostrander recalls, “There were no plans for her in the continuity at that time. We decided that if that happened, we weren’t just going to make her better magically — we wanted to explore what happened when someone like her was crippled and how she would respond.”

In late 1988, Oracle made her first appearance, but only as the name “Oracle,” a hacker who aided the Suicide Squad, in Suicide Squad #23. Oracle aided the Squad for the next year, with hints given to their identity piling up (and Oracle started appearing in Ostrander and Yale’s Manhunter). Finally, in Suicide Squad #38, in early 1990, Oracle was revealed to the readers as Barbara Gordon! [x]

Also.....knowing she (co-)wrote Oracle: Year One while incredibly sick and about to die from breast cancer really makes these scenes hit different, doesn't it?

You know, when you're healthy, when you're whole, there're a million siple things you do every day that you take completely for granted. Things that, for me, were no longer so simple. Such as getting in a car. I used to just jump in and jump out, like most people. Now every move had to be planned...almost choreographed. In full view of everyone.

A little over a year has passed since my old life ended, since I died and was reborn. The shadows remain, but only to give contrast to the light. I am no longer a distaff impersonation of someone else. I'm me-more me than I have ever been. My life is my own. I embrace it, and the light, with a deep, continuing joy.

I genuinely think that everyone should have to read Suicide Squad: Out of Control and Oracle: Year One and then hear the story of how Kim Yale fought for Barbara before making comments about how "misogynistic" it is for Barbara to continue to be Oracle instead of being magically healed or whatever.

Yes, TKJ is awful, and we all hate it. I'd rather it was erased from publication and peoples' memories. But John Ostrander and Kim Yale (and later writers like Chuck Dixon and Gail Simone) took that story and created a powerful narrative of agency reclamation, healing, and closure out of it, a story undoubtedly informed by Yale's own health battles. Barbara's injury being rooted in a sexist story doesn't mean that Oracle, the product of two very dedicated writers determined to re-shape that trauma into a source of power, is bad or that wanting that representation back is gross.

So if you want to remove TKJ from the equation, that's fine! Have her become disabled another way; The Oracle Code and Young Justice have shown potential paths forward on that front. But erasing Oracle, especially while keeping TKJ canon and forcing Babs to remain Batgirl as the post-Flashpoint Universe has, only perpetuates the story's sexism further by denying Babs closure and agency over her own story, erasing two other women (one of whom is herself disabled), refusing her the permanent character growth that the other male Batfamily members receive...and doing Kim Yale a grave disservice by calling a hero created in direct defiance of an editorial & marketing team that had no use for Babs, wanted to get rid of her, and didn't see the point in making her a hero again "misogynistic."

Barbara wasn’t ever supposed to become Oracle in the first place, because DC had zero plans for her. She was gone, her usefulness outlived. But Ostrander and Yale thought differently. “Batgirl" was ultimately SAVED because of Oracle, and to deny Babs (and her readers) that story of agency reclamation and personal growth is as cruel as writing the story that took it away from her in the first place.

“Madness is the Emergency Exit: The Killing Joke’s 35th Anniversary” - A Tragic Destiny:

Considered by many critics to be the definitive Joker story and one of the best Batman stories ever published, Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's 'Batman: The Killing Joke' from March 1988 at the time effected the mainstream Batman continuity greatly. Most notably, the shooting and paralysis of Barbara Gordon a.k.a. Batgirl by the Joker laid the groundwork for her to develop the identity of Oracle, an expert computer hacker and a vital source of information for Batman and other superheroes, though Barbara's paralysis would be healed with DC’s 2011 soft reboot ‘The New 52’.

The Batman Family as a whole was shaken by the Joker's actions, especially when soon after in December 1988, Joker killed the second Robin, Jason Todd, in Jim Starlin's four issue arc ‘Batman: A Death in the Family’. Throughout the years, under the guise of Oracle, Barbara would have flashbacks to the day Joker struck her down. As the years went on in DC, Barbara's paralysis became a thing of destiny. In Geoff John's 2007 Booster Gold story "No Joke", illustrated by Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund, Booster is sent back over and over to stop Barbara from being shot, but fails every time. In the end, Rip Hunter tells him he would always fail this mission because this fate was meant for Barbara. A few years later, in Michael Straczynski's 2010 story "Ladies Night" in The Brave and the Bold #33, Zatanna and Wonder Woman struggle to come to terms with the impending attack on Barbara after Zatanna has a precognitive dream about it.

The heinous acts the Joker has done against both Barbara and Jason Todd, who is the current Red Hood, and their trauma is explored in Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok & Brad Anderson’s three issue DC Black Label series ‘Batman: Three Jokers’. Published in 2020, Batman, Batgirl, and Red Hood work together to solve the mystery of three individuals claiming to be the Clown Prince of Crime. After Jason murders one of them, he is kidnapped and tortured by the Jokers. After Batman and Batgirl find him, Jason erupts at Bruce, claiming it is his fault for everything the Joker has done and the path Todd has taken since being killed and resurrected. Taking him back to her apartment to rest after the brutal beating, Barbara and Jason discuss how differently they navigated the healing process from their separate tragedies; while Babs had her family and physical therapists to help her eventually walk again, Jason didn’t have support due to the Bat family believing he was dead, turning him into an incredibly violent vigilante.

These tales and others throughout the last 35 years, although hurtful to not only the extended Batman Family but also members of the DC Universe, illustrate Barbara Gordon’s resilience in both her personal and vigilante personas since that fateful day in Moore’s ‘The Killing Joke’, showcasing her tragedy shaping her to become greater than she could have possibly imagined in the DCU.✌🏽💜🦇🃏📚

Ivy just ending up as the advisor and expressing interests in being an archivist and librarian with full support from the parents!! And she might also enjoy being a scribe on occasion I think.

YES Lyf specifically being put into gardening so he's healthy and happy like!!! Also Lyf and Nastya bonding that way bc she'll tend to the gardens bc they're a part of Aurora and !!!! I really think it messes them up that they're able to do so little in the garden when the curse happens... They can still be there but they can't tend to it like they used to. All the feels when Brian probably asks someone if he can tend to the garden because it looks so neglected and Brian wants the fresh air and Lyf perking up at the idea and wanting to come along and!!!!!!!!!!!! UAGH!!!!!!!!!

Also agree with Ashes they probably doing all sorts of weird jobs and errands, enjoy keeping busy. Ashes probably has a ton of connections and always knows a guy so even tho they've mostly left crime life they still use those contacts for normal and strange errands alike.

Also I think if the rulers then had anyone they had to talk to they didn't like they'd have Tim and Ashes stand there and glare to intimate the hell out of ppl.

Also!! I feel like Royal Enchantress Carmilla occasionally had visions she shared with the rulers of the time as part of her job. Idk I can kinda see her predicting their premature end (<- they already felt it coming but she finally has some confirmation about it). Maybe she also gets flashes of having to curse Jonny and everything but they're so scrambled and hard to make out (the more directly involved she is in a vision/prophecy thing the harder it would be to make out I think. Oracle types being unable to see their own future is so important to me!!!)

Rest of the Mechs are the servants in the Beast's house. With an exception for Marius as Gaston cause I can totally fucking see it. He would suck at it though because it's Marius. And also, short Marius HC.

This is probably not new. But it's been brewing in my head for a good few months, ever since I put my Mechs OC in the iconic Belle dress.
