speeding past the adoption of jinx as a symbol. speeding past the firelights realizing ekko is missing. jinx goes from suicidal and self serving to Joan of Arc in one week. ?????

the sequences with different animation styles were cool... would prefer more character work. (why is this giving me what-btsv-will-look-like vibes? why does it feel like that's what they'll do-- jam in a ton of pretty-looking scenes while failing to wrap up all their loose ends and relying on fanservice to get emotional moments)

ambessa having no real strong reaction to mel being missing... no that doesn't work.

mel being stuck in the shadow realm... good on her for not being fridged yet but look idk wtf is going on there. secret lineage plotline included. if we got one hint of her being connected to any of this in s1 i coulda dug it but it truly reads like the writers threw her this out of nowhere plotline bc they didn't know what to do with her after deciding she'd survive the blast. i'm at the point where i'm like. maybe she should have died bc literally nothing would change except a slight amount of political maneuvering.

the whole scene with the sisters' mom and silco and vander... no actually i dislike how all of a sudden everyone is related to everyone. zaun doesn't feel like a city anymore it feels like a tiny town. also it doesn't click at all with how silco doesn't give a fuck about vi.

zaun in general feels so empty without silco or ekko to articulate its needs. piltover's reeling post-jinxbomb felt adequately established but zaun's... nothing. just vague shapeless chaos in a music video. even the zaun v piltover conflict feels limp. i feel like this is largely because, again, the major zaunite political players are dead or in the fucking spiderverse. and jinx is off babysitting instead of being the avatar of zaun's anger and desperation, and finding a new sense of purpose post-silco in owning her terrorist attack and riding that wave into being the face of the zaunite faction. insane to me how fucking isha just swept in and derailed that entire trajectory because i guess jinx just wants to play house.

okay so jinx's psychosis being so backseated in act i wasn't because she was drained emotionally and suicidal and is genuinely bc the writers are yoinking her mental illness back to make her more likable. hate that!

this warwick thing... i like the way it brings the sisters back together but i hate the conceit of 'hey that traumatic death that shaped you and everyone in our society? didn't happen!'

also idk the reconciliation sure didn't take long. the antipathy between jinx and vi's been built up for years, so it really feels disappointing that just like that they're cool again. hanging out like it's nothing. okay.

she truly just feels like a plot device to make jinx heroic and sympathetic. instead of the audience and vi empathizing with jinx for her own sake, it's because she's just so darn nice to this sweet kid. fuck off.

her entire death felt so... ugh to me. i'm not sad because i care i'm sad because someone's holding onions under my eyes and playing a sad song in my ear, not because this feels earned in any way. just comparing this to milo/clogger or silco is laughable.

What would you change about both Korra and Amon?… Would you make Korra be a better friend to her Team?… Would you make Amon be an energybender, instead of a bloodbender (since energybending is how you steal bending)? 😅

For Korra, I actually thought it was fine for her to start out as she did, a sheltered Avatar, proficient at bending but naive about the outside world. What I would have liked to have seen more of, is character development for her. I would have liked for her to not get her bending back at the end of the first season, but have learn and grow as she reconnects with each bending style and becomes a better person.

Hated the love triangle nonsense, they coulda hung that up and told something better and more interesting. In A:TLA we got good genuine friendships out of the gaang, i feel like we got robbed of that in LoK

And I will never not stand on the bridge that we got robbed of Old, Master Swordsman Sokka. Ruined. With a single line. The terrible jokes we missed out on. The Stink and Sink? Come on.

For the part of Amon, I liked how they started to set up Tarlokk and he as opposites, and it could have been interesting to see more of the war between them while Korra was away becoming the Avatar again.

Instead of magic blood blending, maybe Amon came upon a lion turtle on a spiritual journey, and after learning energy bending from it, thought that it was his calling to cleanse the world. idk, I’m just spit balling here.

hi friend. i’m not entirely sure you’re in the right place for an ask like this, but um... well.. are you asking for my opinion? i know i’ve made a fuckton of destiel gifsets in the last couple weeks but i’m a newbie to this fandom, and not even a percentage of a percent of 0.00000001% invested in the ship or the show as i ever was in teen wolf BUT i have been watching on my own for many years and i do have an opinion about acting (idk if i’ve mentioned it but i started off in theater for undergrad and it’s all i ever really wanted to do tho i never did it....so it kinda mutated into nit picky criticism if u get my drift). ... . POINT BEING. okay. so ... i do enjoy both of their acting in a general way- jensen’s soapy teen drama past is clear but he’s rounded out dean so well over the years that it all fits seamlessly anyway cuz who can separate the two... and though it works 98% of the time, he is a bit predictable. watching almost 9 seasons in under a month does offer some perspective ngl (also i think ive probably seen more posts denigrating his acting than praising it, but i guess i follow different people than you...)....

but i feel like misha has developed differently as an actor and his style has changed in various ways over the years, but i never really sat back and took stock of it until that scene last week because like... i mean.... ugh. i don’t wanna upset you but. i didn’t like it. it kinda looked like they used the wrong eyedrops? it was hard for me to concentrate cuz i was a bit distracted by those giant puddles on his face at first. stripping down the monologue though, it kinda felt..well.. you know what actually? maybe it was just the bad writing. I’ve always enjoyed his acting. he does deserve praise. i just... yea. i was cringing a bit the whole time :/ we really really shouldn’t judge those acting choices though, because as we can see thanks to this ask- it’s all in the eye of the beholder. you thought he did an amazing job. i’m sure lots of other people do too. myself i’m straddling the middle opinion (if i watch it a few more times, which i will because i have yet to gif it, my opinion may- nay probably will- change), and yea i’ve also seen posts making fun of him or leaving out his well-earned kudos, but i try not to involve myself in that kinda drama anymore (esp since i’m not really in this fandom and only started blogging about the show recently because i wanted to gif it). in general i always enjoy both of their acting, and i agree they both deserve praise and respect for doing their best with the script they’re given. i think i just kinda wish the whole thing was presented better. like. there coulda been WAY better buildup withIN the episode. and the season. for it all to come down to this outburst? cas shoulda been on the literal verge for awhile. i know the majority of the fandom has seen it for a long time, but as an outsider and someone who hasn’t ever been in fandom or really ever shipped them (despite watching all 15 seasons multiple times over the years), it did seem carelessly written into the script. which is just unfair for both the actors and their characters.

Ninty Direct Feb 2021 Thoughts

I suppose it was inevitable that we weren’t seeing Pokemon since they’re gonna do their own announcement. But like. Coulda done better here.

Anyway I wrote down everything they announced so here we go

Pyra/Mythra in Smash: I don’t give a single shit about the Xenoblade series, but it’s one of like 2 IPs Nintendo has had in the last decade so sure whatever they can have second a character as a treat. I’m mostly just annoyed this wasn’t a third-party character.

Fall Guys Switch: This feels inevitable. It also feels about 5 months too late.

Outer Wilds Switch: I’ve heard some absolutely excellent things about this game, so fair enough. I’m not sure I’d buy it on the Switch, but I haven’t bought it at all yet, so.

Famicom Detective Club: This looks like a Ren’py game if it had an actual budget, but still used Ren’py for some reason. Prooobably not biting on this one chief.

Samurai Warriors 5: The only Warriors game I’ve played is the first hyrule warriors, and the only Nobunaga game I’ve played was Pokemon Conquest (it’s a trip), so. I don’t understand the obsession they have over there for this bloke, like imagine if Australia made like a tv series a year and a large handful of video games about Ned Kelly or something.

Legend of Mana: Shit I should go play Octopath Traveler huh

Monster Hunter Rise: Those monster designs looked pretty kickass, and those human designs made me crack up laughing. I’ve never played Monster Hunter, and I don’t think this is gonna change that.

Mario Golf: Hey look they confirmed Waluigi as playable ahead of time so people wouldn’t complain, good job guys. The multiplayer of this looked silly as hell, but I’m not spending 80 bucks on wii sports tennis for a multiplayer mode ill drag my mates to play all of once before we go back to playing Beetle Adventure Racing.

Tales from the Borderlands: Wait telltale is still around? Ok…? I haven’t played Borderlands and don’t really care for the Telltale style so nah

Capcom Arcade Stadium: They could have made a peripheral like the NES/SNES mini, but they didn’t, and it’s for the best. The fact that one of the games is free implies to me that the rest are going to be overcosted, though.

Stubbs the Zombie: What the fuck am I looking at. Apparently this is a remaster of an old Xbox game, but I’ve never heard of it. Weird as fuck, but sure.

No More Heroes III: No more Heroes is a franchise that I’ve never played, but always wanted to. It seems right up my alley aesthetic-wise, and the gameplay looks pretty solid too- probably gonna try one of the older ones first, though.

Neon White: Speaking of aesthetic. This looks anime as fuck and edgy in a good way, and the gameplay looks real fun. I actually really want to check this out, and no, it’s not just because of the skull masked goth gf on the cover. (Doesn’t hurt, though.)

DC Super Hero Girls Teen Power: Jesus, this looks like a bad tie-in game from the mid 2000s. Not like Battle for Bikini Bottom, more like a Jimmy Neutron. And while I really liked the Jimmy Neutron game as a kid (shame about the show), this doesn’t look like it’ll stand up to that…high bar. Listening to this trailer made me want to die a little bit inside.

Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighbourville: I miss PopCap. Peggle 3, never.

Miitopia: This looks cute, and will probably lead to the same sort of 3am DMs that happened with Tomodachi Life. If it’s a full priced game, it probably won’t sell at all.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Mario items: uhhh sure. Don’t have that game, so.

Triangle Strategy: Aww fuck it’s a final fantasy tactics that looks like octopath and it might have an actually good story, shiiiiiiiiit. I’m gonna give the demo a try before I land on this, but I’m optimistic.

Star Wars Hunters: When was the last time we had an actually good Star Wars game? And don’t say Fallen Order. Yeah, didn’t think so.

KO City: Ah, the bottom of the barrel. Didn’t think it would take this long. At this point, the pseudo-cartoony style everything has because they’re trying to ape Fortnite is extremely grating on me. (I definitely thought this ad was for Fortnite stuff at first)

World’s End Club: OK this one has me actually hyped. I knew that Kodaka (director/writer of the Danganronpa series) and Uchikoshi (director/writer of the Zero Escape series) were working on a joint project, and we’re finally seeing the results. Both of them have multiple excellent games under their respective belts, and this new game looks like a fun spin on what I’m sure a lot of people were expecting from the pair. Literally both of them have made a game where (spoilers I guess, Keara stop reading here you haven’t played VLR yet) there’s a death game going on while the characters are unaware the world fucking ended, so to see the idea of the death game getting interrupted and the characters actually having to live in the dead world is really cool. I’m paying cloooose attention to this one.

Hades (Physical Release): Dang now if I buy hades I can choose to have some of my money go to EB games or JB hifi or something. Cooooooooooooool.

Ninja Gaiden Collection: This just made me wonder why Ryu Hayabusa isn’t in Smash yet. Is it because there’s already a Ryu?

Age of Calamity DLC: I don’t think I mentioned this in my post yesterday, but I would have put money on DLC for this game coming out. I still haven’t played it, but the first Hyrule Warriors had so much fucking DLC so this was inevitable in my eyes.

Bravely Default 2: Uhhh its another JRPG man idk what you want me to say. Didn’t play the first one, apparently its good.

Ghosts n Goblins Resurrection: Kinda funny having this next to the free original in the Capcom Arcade Stadium. Capcom is reviving old franchises, I guess? Where’s Mega Man Battle Network, cowards?

SaGa Frontier: I’ve heard good things about the SaGa series, but this looks awful. Not like gameplay wise, the style for the models and shit in game just disinterests me.

Apex Legends: Is anyone still playing this game?

BOTW 2 (no news): I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed. Next Direct, I guess.

Skyward Sword HD: I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.

Seriously though, I was expecting 3 of the best Zeldas ever made to get ports, and we got the one that I wasn’t interested in. Fuck you too, I guess.

Splatoon 3: I actually was super interested in this, seeing as the trailer looked like it was gonna be for some like… side game, 3D RPG or something, exploring the origins of the Splatoon world? But then it’s just Splatoon 3. And like, I know people really like that series, but it never appealed to me. The world is neat! But I’m not interested in the series as it is.

ive been watching a lot of netflix lately, and i’m pretty much just going through my “to watch” list, so i thought i’d give some thoughts on some of the show’s ive watched so far. 

this’ll probably get super long.

oh shoot i forgot i had this post as a wip. i went on a phase of watchign shows for a bit when i tried to step away from tumblr for a bit a few months back. this is definitely super long, so heads up if you click read more, you’re gonna scroll for a while.

i watched this show all the way though at least twice, and many scattered episodes several times over the course of years, up until i stopped watching tv altogether, which was quite a while ago. at some point i realized the last time i watched it, i didn't know i was asexual. it kinda made me realize why i didn't quite get the romancey bits when i was younger.

i don’t want to spoil the show on the off chance you haven't seen it, cause this is one of those i think is best watched unspoiled, but even if ya know it, the show is incredibly fun to watch. 

it has amazing fight scenes, fantastic animation that still holds up (impressive for a kid’s tv show of it’s time, if you ask me,) and incredibly complex and interesting characters that change and grow along with the plot, which raps up nicely by the end of the third season. 

10/10 one of the best shows of all time, even outside of animation. amazing rewatchability, too!

all i knew of this going in was from gifs a friend kept reblogging. 

it’s basically a zootopia-esque story, about a human who has turned into a beastman, which are these human-like creatures that can also turn into animals? it’s kinda weird but ok my suspension of disbelief has worked harder before. it’s also pretty short (12 or 13 episodes i think,) so the story is pretty packed together and moves pretty fast.

i loved the animation. it’s an anime from studio trigger, and i LOOOOOOVE that animation style!! hoooly shit guys it’s SOOOO GOOOOD!!!!!! the colors and general feel of the show visually is just top tier. lots of interesting colors and shapes and expressive poses and expressions! i’d recommend it purely on it’s aesthetic, cause it’s gorgeous.

unfortunately, i think the story kinda sucks. i don’t think it detracts from the show much, but i felt like a couple of the story twists (especially towards the end) kinda came out of nowhere, or where kinda crammed in there as best they could to make it fit. the best twist i think was with shirou, which was set up in episode 1, and i pretty much was expecting that reveal.

tbh, the best episode was the filler one, where michiru plays baseball with some bears. idk man it was just fun. wish there were more episodes like that, where she just got to have fun being a beastman. I did like how the bears stuck around after that episode, though.

8/10 i’d say it coulda been better, but it's till good for what it is. ya can’t have a perfect show, and i’d say it’s still fun. i’d watch it again with someone, cause ey, i liked it. i think i was mainly dissapointed cause i was expecting a lot more, and i watched it right after avatar, which i think IS a perfect show. i’d watch it again, though. it’s good!

She-ra and the princesses of power:

all i knew going in was that someone i watched on youtube thought it was good. i may have seen gifs at some point, but idk. no one i know watches it, or at least they don’t talk about it if they do.

if you liked mlp, you’d like this. it has some very almost corny “friendship is powerful” messages, and it’s obviously girly. it’s still good for all audiences imo, but the sheer girliness of it may be hard to get through at first. it mellows out as it goes on and the story gets a bit darker, but those themes of friendship and love don’t go away. tbh, “power of friendship” is one of my favorite tropes, and this show has a lot of it.

aesthetically, this show id my fucking JAM! PURPLE!!! PURPLE EVERYWHERE!!!!!! HOLY SHIT EVERYTHING IS PASTEL AND PURPLE GUYS I LOVE IT! 10,000/10 man i love purple. The animation wasn’t as good compared to the last two shows i watched, but i mean, i came from anime. that’s not a fair comparison.

i also really liked the story, especially as it went on. Early on, Adora and Catra end up on separate sides of the fight, and it was really interesting seeing the two’s progression in the story. I especially love Catra. i think her progression was interesting, and complex, i loved seeing her manipulate her way to the top. also she’s tsundere, in a way that i actually liked.

i should say i kinda didn’t like Bow at first. The first two-ish seasons, they really played up the girliness with him, but he gets more interesting later on, and ends up really likeable to me. He reminds me of my character Carter, though, in that he’s a male character that is very feminine and ain’t afraid of it. it was kinda jarring at first, but i can respect that.

also, the show has tons of gay characters, and at least one nonbinary one (though they’re a neutral character that initially aligned with the villains. take that how you will.) 

9/10 i think the beginning is a bit too over the top girly, but ya kinda jive with it as the show goes on, and the story gets darker as it goes on, kinda like avatar. if ya liked that, follow it up with this. Also, hnnnn purbleee’

Kipo and the age of the wonderbeasts:

i had no idea what to expect going in. all i knew was what i saw in the promo.

it’s a post-apocalyptic type of setting, where animals are mutated, and most are sentient. humans live underground in secret societies called burrows. kipo is separated from her dad when her home gets destroyed, and meets up with a couple of humans and a mutated bug in order to find her burrow. things escalate from there, there’s more going on, but alla that is spoilers, so i won’t elaborate.

it seems like it’s currently in progress, (i just finished season 2, and i’d bet there’s at least one more season) so i can’t judge it as a whole just yet. it’s interesting, and i like the idea, but tbh i didn’t find it quite as engaging as everything else ive watched so far? I like it, and i’m invested enough to watch the next season whenever it comes out, though. hopefully whatever’s next changes my mind, though. 

i think i mainly just didn’t like the characters much at the beginning? but as i’m thinking about it, they’re starting to grow on me. i like kipo the most, cause she’s a goofy nerd who’s kinda just being nice to everybody, and it’s making her a lot of powerful friends who’ll have her back. i like how kid’s cartoons try and teach ya that being nice is a good thing.

7/10 it’s not bad, and i’d recommend it, but i feel like this story isn’t quite for me. it’s got a lot of potential to end up as something i’d really like by the end, though, so i’m gonna keep my eye on it.

Honestly, I find just going grocery shopping with my friend to be an adventure, I am sure visiting any of my friends in their hometowns, be they cities or small towns, I would find every day exciting. I have deep puppy energies. 

19. INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT: Introvert. I get so tired, my friend has told me to take a nap mid-party before. But like, as you hear, I love parties. I super love socializing, but oof I do get drained. If I could sit with people, no-energy, no-obligation, free to chat or chill, that’d be the dream. And I have a lot of those with my best friend, except with the minor energy obligation of transportation and sometimes other people....

20. DO YOU SCARE EASILY: Incredibly. I’m a huge baby, incredibly squeamish, easily startled, easily paranoid. I’m scared of the dark still, I don’t watch horror movies unless the monster is sexy.

23. DREAM JOB: If I’m god damn honest I hate the idea of a job deep down in my soul. Call it bein’ lazy but man I want my life to involve somethin more than making money to survive, that’s all I’ve ever done and I’d like to stop. But being able to help others, being a resource, brightening peoples day, being involved in something that enriches the world somehow. These kind of things make a good fit for work, and if it pays good, and I can build a routine around a solid schedule, then I guess I could live with whatever. 

24. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS: Do the math for how much I need to survive for the rest of my life, bare minimum style, then cushion that a little. Buy myself and my friends some nice things. Start giving money to strangers. Funnel it into important things that need to get paid for. Quit my job, travel, get extensive therapy, join fucking causes I wish I had the physical & mental resources for now, finally be able to put my passion into things again. I’m finally going to my third year, so yayy I guess?

Okay, so I’m back here after a span of like 6 months? It’s been a long time. Things weren’t exactly smooth sailing either. Honestly, it was kinda remarkable then I went through all of it. If you asked me to go through that all over again, I wouldn’t be sure if I coulda.

So, when I recovered from my food poisoning from Croatia, I’ve managed to enjoyed life for a bit. Later, granddad passed away. I fell sick again during one of these days. It must have been some expired ham that I cooked for myself or something, idk. It was bad. Real bad. I remember spending 23 hours lying in bed per day and I was bed-ridden for like 2 weeks. It was not so much of the diarrhoea and vomiting, but the fever and the weakness etc. When the doctor told me he needed me to go down to A&E cos the fever couldn’t go down--something just snapped I think. My fear, ya know. I just got up, tried to do things normally and I recovered. 

However, as my illness recovered, my eyes condition went for the worse. One of my eyes was seeing things blurry. It got really bad--that I was constantly frustrated and could hardly read or use the laptop/ps4 etc. This issue stuck with me till the first two weeks of school--and holy hell it was bad. Imagine reading with a blurred eyesight. Also almost fell to my death from the school staircase. Couldn't read order food cause I can’t see shit. Sense of perception was totally distorted. Basically couldn’t enjoy anything in life.

I wasn’t too worried because this had had happened before--I knew all I had to do is to just go back to NUH and probably get some eye steroids. But deep down, there was this fear within me that my eyesight could stay like this forever. You know, like a permanently scarred cornea or something. 

I stumbled through the first two weeks of reading and classes feeling extremely down and insecure. Managed to get an appointment in the second week or something. The eye steroids took some time to actually work. It worried me a little cause the effects weren’t as fast as the last time. But yeah. I got my full eyesight back. I am forever grateful for this. 

So, I felt very afraid cause I was picking level 2000 mods. I’ve also picked up Social Work as an unrestricted elective--but I dropped it after attending the first lecture. It just seems like the whole “nice, caring, wonderful world” thing doesn't stick with me, so. Anyway, I’m just gonna dive in to the modules straight.

GES1005:

My last module for my 5 pillars. I’ve enjoyed GEH1004 immensely last term, so I thought this would be similar. It was, in certain ways. Extremely chill mod. However, the lectures were incredibly boring. The Caucasian prof just talked and talked his grandfather’s stories, and basically there was no point given. Nevertheless, I only skipped on one of the lectures and attended the rest in full. I went though a lot to shake off my rebel-punk persona in my life, so I didn’t want to return to that yeah. 

Tutorials were slightly more interesting to me. The TA was nice, and we had to get participation points for talking--fine with me, so. Also had a few response papers--also not too difficult. 

Group project was okay. Went down to a certain Huiguan, collected info, did presentation. Did a group report few weeks later. As usual, members who practically don’t give a damn, had to cover their asses. The girls were nice--just that they could be a little too critical on my writing style and honestly it stressed me out a little. 

Picked a lot of info needed for the group report via the Huiguan’s Facebook, then “salt-bae” in a little moral learning points. That’s it. I’ve aced the module. It was not hard. But did I enjoy it? Not really, but I am really not complaining.

Also, met my friend in FAS2 in this class. We attended some lectures together, hung out abit. But you know, the usual me. Incapability to develop emotion bonds with people. It was difficult. And I guess they kinda saw through me you know--that I wasn’t too keen on making lasting friendships. I feel bad. I feel guilty. They were nice people, after all. 

SC2101:

Dread. Full of dread before I took this module. It was a compulsory mod, so no way I coulda avoid this. My last experiences with a stats mod didn’t go well, so yeah, dread. 

Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I’ve expected. The prof was a super nice and enthusiastic lady. I loved her. The content was a little dry--found myself drifting off sometimes. There was textbook chapters to read for each week and as usual like every other FASS student---I couldn’t really keep it up, though initially I did it pretty well. 

Tutorials was okay, TA was nice. She remembered me even though I was super quiet in class. I guess it was the tutorial ballot form thing. So she basically went though what the prof did in summary. We also had two projects -- one is to interview people, the other is the goddamn stats. Yes. I was really into the interview assignment, and yeah I placed loads of efforts into it. I had the advantage of time (recess week etc), made loads of editing and rewriting. Got a good solid A. Thank god. The other stats was to be done in groups of two, assigned group members. Honestly, it was hilarious cause I was reminded of my IDC days. Computers, really not for me man. I was lucky to have a good teammate. But yeah. Stumbled through a little, but it was still okay in the end.

SC2216:

So, here we are. The notorious prof George--could kill you, fuck you up, make you cry for days. He’s actually a nice prof in real life--one of the nicest but somehow he leaves no mercy when marks the assignments, leaving us all dead. 

Loved his lectures, the lectures never fail to captivate me. Introducing Doctor Who on the first was a green flag for me etc. However, I’ve never really saw the “point” of all of his lectures. It’s just something really different from the usual sociology, you know. Like hell, how we gonna change the world with emotions even? But yeah, I eventually came to realise there’s just something so powerful about emotions, but people often tend to downplay that. 

Tutorials were extremely stressful for me personally. There’s this big thing on class participation, and the questions are randomly assigned. So basically, you have to prepare to answer the entire paper of questions before you come to class. But again, he doesn’t go too hard on us like how he marks the papers, so yeah. 

Term papers. They stressed me out a lot, honestly. I scored badly for the first two despite pouring all my efforts and time on it. It’s really demoralizing. It’s kinda of a response paper things--and I’m obviously not someone who’s really articulate at expressing their emotions, so disadvantage kinda. The third paper was about politics in Singapore---which I had a lot data and info on due to the Singapore Studies module I took. And guess what, I got a damn A for it. I was so happy that I almost cried. It was like finally getting approval from your parents whom never loved you, LOL.  

SC2206:

This module was okay, I guess? It wasn’t exactly hard, but it wasn’t easy either. The prof was from China, and at times I had problems understanding his accent. The content in this module was really abstract, not like the emotions mod one. So, at times I was completely lost. Lectures were dry and boring at times, but there’s practically no choice because attendance was counted. Yeah, his classes reminded me on Tenzin’s classes. Not big on the language, but heavy on the content. Opposite of SC2216. 

Tutorials were a breeze, really. It’s just basically sitting through other people’s presentation. I was sipping on my ice coffee throughout the tutorials, and trying to find chances to say something useful (for class participation)--but yeah in the end I didn’t talk much. Maybe deep down I was not much a learned person or something. 

Readings were not as hard as the ones Tenzin gave in previous sems--they were actually kinda interesting. But grasping the point from it was difficult at times. 

Group project. So for some reason, people taking this module don’t hang out in cliques. We all sat individually and were all kinda shy. I guess it made working together hard--cos ain’t nobody cared about each other. The guy I worked with ghosted on me the last minute--and I had to cover this part by staying up till wee hours of the morning. Then next day he turns up, with his own part done. What an asshole seriously.

So, in all. I don’t know how I’ve managed to survive this semester. I don’t know I could have done it if you made me go through it all over again. Yep, so I think I deserved some sort of pat at my own shoulder, plus some pizza and cookies for it, really.

Might as well christen this place where I can overthink some rasslin’.  Good a night as any for it.  Gonna be taking notes as I go through Raw, and will publish under a readmore when done.  Really long, mostly just steam of conscious.  Might do a summarized thoughts later.  But probably not.  Summaries are my mortal enemies.

!!!  Dean vs Joe!  That should be a fun match!  Love Joe, love Dean, and their styles should clash pretty well.  Also, I love Joe’s theme.  And Joe talking.  He’s so damn good on the mike.  He’s got a wonderful cadence, and he’s like, the perfectly articulate heel.  So good.

I like the Roman drinks orange juice after he brushes his teeth sign.  It’s good.  I mean, it’s hella gross, but I like those kind of signs.  Good stuff.

The Roman chant is interesting.  I haven’t really heard a crowd chant for a face in a while.  Although I think it’s still arguable whether or not Roman is a face.  Still.  Good to have a crowd chanting for one.  Part of the problem, I find, with today’s rassling, nobody chants for the faces to come out and fix problems, because there is no real Top Face that, you know, does face things.

Yeah, no duh it’s a trap, why’d Ro go out there on his own, that’s silly.  Clearly Joe and Sheazaro made some kind of alliance last week, come on boys.  Also of course look at the fight in Dean, he’s always been the one in the Shield that gets the shit kicked out of him the worst, he’s a pain magnet, that’s part of why we love him so much.

Was feeling pretty happy from that promo about Bliss and Banks fighting the first women’s match over in Abu Dhabi, but then they cut to the ring and I see a sign saying that the Browns will be the Superbowl Champs and I’ve been laughing ever since fuck me, keep living the dream my friend, keep living that dream.

Seriously tho, I’ve loved Mickey James for forever, what a legend, what an underrated gem, I hate that she’s being wasted right now.

So... I didn’t watch Tough Enough since like... idk, the third “season”, I guess you could say, and I never watch Total Divas, but... maybe I’m totally wrong, but Mandy Rose feels a lot like- just from ring attire and attitude-, a golden version of Eva Marie?  And I’m not particularly interested in that.  Like watching Paige wrestle, I’ve enjoyed Sonya from what I’ve seen from her on Main and on NXT- always down for some female Bruisers, y’know?- but Mandy just seems... Idk.  Been there, done that, seen that character a hundred times.  Unless she’s going to pull a Marlena with a... Velveteen Dream?  He’s the only openly sensual sort of rassler in the WWE right now that could follow that old spirit of Goldust- and he definitely doesn’t need a handler of any kind, to be honest.  But like, outside of that?  Don’t care.  Got the feeling she’s going to be the weak link/first one to betray Paige’s lil group.

I mean, I’m laughing, but I don’t really see this turning out well for either him or Bray?  It could be good, if treated carefully, but I just don’t trust anyone on creative to do Bray right anymore.  Which is a fucking shame, because he makes a fantastic cult leader, he was so charasmatic and scary and then they took away his fucking cult and just what is even the point?  Like even the fact that he never wins anything, I could mostly ignore or more not really care if even after a loss he was still like this looming, evil shadow ready to consume any and all that come in his path but-  Look, point I’m trying to make here is that Bray is actually supposed to be a serious character, even if they don’t make him a properly scary character anymore, and putting him up against a comedy act- and Br/Woken Matt is a comedy act, a fantastic satire, simply the best, I love him....  I don’t know.  Maybe if I knew that Matt and Bray were actually coming up with their storyline.  That’d be cool, but...  I’ll try to be optimistic, but it’ll be hard.
