so this is a kind of not-so-surprise for my friend @sinclarsupremacy , bc they were the first person i showed this two and was on the phone with me the whole time while i made it. didn't give a single thing away until everything was scanned and done. five dead pens and one reliable sharpie later, i show him this. wanted to get used to drawing the slipsour guyz more but also wanted to articulate something i have troubles saying to important people. this is kind of an ode to all my close friends ive made who i definitely wouldve hung around some graveyards with, and an ode to some bands i didnt know id like as much as i do 🫶

Thinking about:

The two moments in ep 1 (6:08) and ep 2 (32:37) when Jihyun is seen in the background between Jaewon and Tae Hyung/Eun Ji respectively.

The way Jaewon's taller shadow engulfs Jihyun's smaller shadow as Jaewon walks towards Jihyun on the beach in ep 2.

Yoon Won singing on the beach.

Just how fantastic Yoon Won, Ae Ri, and Jihyun's boss are.

How it looks like Jaewon drew himself and his younger brother and maybe a young Jihyun in the landscape of the Han river in ep 4.

The way Jaewon tugs Jihyun into him after putting the rucksack on Jihyun in ep 4 (7:03).

The tale of the country mouse who ran back home (ep 4)...and me wondering if it's foreshadowing a separation and/or time skip in future eps.

The fact that the therapist is always in the same top, which might indicate that the therapy scenes are all from the same session...maybe meaning everything else that's happening are flashbacks from the time of the session...which ends in ep 5. There are no scenes of the therapy session in ep 6.

Jihyun's dream of going to the Hanson Tower with a lover and putting a lock up there...and me hoping he'll do that with Jaewon.

Mr. Grizz himself must’ve been personally sabotaging me during big big run bc tell me why out of all the times I got the tri-boss I got the grizzco splatana every single time except ONCE. The grizzco splatana is like the ONE grizzco weapon I completely suck at and every time the battle would begin I’d glance at the weapon selection and I’d start praying “please please pleas tell me I’m not the one with that stupid fucking splatana please surely I can’t keep getting it over and over please please” and then I’d look down at my stupid little octoling holding the splatana and I’d be like yeah okay. Okay splatana. Okay.

Ykno the common critique I've seen around is that trimax fights r hard to follow & such. And I've always had the kind of thought of like "I mean sometimes it can be confusing, but if u stop to study it it's really not that bad"

Having a fight analysis post kinda blow up tho I'm seeing ppl comment over and over in the tags about how hard it is to keep up with the fights... and I'm just like. Is it really that confusing? Like genuinely. I thought it was one of those overblown fan critiques but it seems like a Lot of people agree with it.

i’ve started reading generations of card captors by tamchronin and there’s a short scene early on where clow has to throw out a card because he didn’t illustrate it properly. a line was off, so it couldn’t be turned into a magic card. and that made me start thinking about - what if the cards got to be involved in the process of creating their appearance? rather than taking forms that were drawn for them, or those forms being what they were like as spirits before they made contracts with clow to become cards, or those forms being things subconsciously formed by clow’s mind only. i like the idea that the spirits-that-became-cards had a little window of time to hover over clow’s shoulder and give him ideas and feedback and participate in the detailing of their form as a card. the analogy is silly, but what comes to mind is temporary license plates - it is a license! it is legal and valid! but it’s just paper, and there’s no design on it, and you know the real thing is going to come in the mail soon. so there’s a similar thought that when clow created a card maybe there would be a halfway point first, a sort of temporary and partial corporealization-binding that allowed the spirit to hang around a bit and test the waters to see if they wanted to stay, and if they did they’d draft the resulting card and form together.

yes this post is half because i cannot believe clow’s subconscious would give the Song the headgear that she has, but i can imagine the Song deciding that she’d like something like that.
