wish i knew more about historical alchemy. for owl house reasons but also in general but mostly for deranged owl house reasons. i know it would enlighten me i KNOW IT. it has to be relevant. i mean. the whole glyph system. its alchemy. and all my assumptions on my sun/moon sibling thing repeating tnru history in Toh are rooted in my cursory familiarity with tarot symbology but like i KNOWWWW that [vague & desperate hand gesturing] like alchemy has the whole symbological philosophical justifications for physical properties thing going on, and, i dont know much about the specifics, but its got some of the same like...classical moon sun symbological associations. classical as in drawing on ancient greece. because alchemical science was very much building off of ancient greek natural philosophy. i would bet dana is drawing more on the alchemy thing than tarot i mean seriously she designed a GLYPH SYSTEMMMM..... i KNOW she knows more than me about alchemy ok i GET IT. i need the entire history of alchemy beamed into my brain instantly.

Man I know that I don't talk about Tangled the Series much at all (I'm sort of a filthy casual when it comes to that show tbh) but is it just me or was it so. SO painfully obvious. That Varian was supposed to be the Prince of the Moon Kingdom. That he was supposed to be Rapunzel's opposite, her foil, her counterpart. The real Moon to her Sun, if you will.
That the letter his father was holding when he got trapped in the Amber was a letter confessing that Varian was not actually his birth son, but the prince of the moon kingdom. That the king of the moon kingdom would be 10000% more likely to give his son to one of his trusted men to take care of and raise over letting him be orphaned.
I suspect that the plot was supposed to be as follows:
-Everything is the same up until the arc where the crew go to the Moon Kingdom and Cas does her betrayal. They never get there and go back home. -Home has been taken over by those guys with Varian's help, his motives being the same as before (wanting to erase everyone's memory because he felt ashamed of his actions) -Things go about the same (with the addition of Cas in the mix, maybe she and Rapunzel have a heart to heart about her being Gothel's biological daughter--that I thought was a plotline they were going for from the very moment they designed Cas, but they went and ruined a small drama and made it into a Big Drama where Cas turns Evil because of it like???? Okay bro) until Rapunzel tries using her withering powers to eat away at the amber -It works!!! But a catch--because she's only got a fragment of the moonstone's power in her, it doesn't fully work. Just enough to reveal the letter. -Rapunzel and Varian discover that he's the prince of the moon kingdom and they go off to find it. -During this trip Varian is very anxious and probably keeps asking for reassurance from Rapunzel that they will use the Moonstone to first free his adoptive father, THEN she can do as she will with it. She possibly does try to reassure him, but in a way that he doesn't trust. -NOW everyone's at the moon Kingdom, and Varian is the one who grabs the moon stone. He just wants to free his adoptive Father after all. -Maybe distrust from his betrayal before mounts into an epic battle of sorts--or maybe it doesn't! Maybe they fully understand him this time and gently coax him into calming down and then they go to free his father. -Or that ghost bitch that manipulates Cas in canon starts manipulating Varian, a much more believable plot line because Varian already has a lot of anxiety and doubt that Rapunzel is going to help him and his father when she did leave him in the dust in the past. He's also younger and more susceptible to manipulation -In that case, the overarching plot of dealing with the Final Big Bad goes about the same--Varian replaces Cas, and he and Rapunzel fight, releasing her, yada yada, she steals the sun drop and moon stone, yada yada, gets defeated, yada yada -Varian either still remains as the head alchemist of the kingdom or goes off to help rebuild the moon kingdom.
Anyway those are my thoughts about Varian and I'm kinda mad that the one guy on the writing team ruined it because of his Crush on Cassandra.

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS
part 1/of god knows how many
my opinions and observations
Tumblr media
- people with a 12th house stellium can be notorious homebodies, maybe even struggle with agoraphobia.
- nobody holds a grudge like a scorpio moon these people are deeply caring and if you slight them 🔪 they’re not easy to forget about it
-cancer moons are not as emotional as they’re made out to be, especially if coupled with air/earth prominence in the chart. they’re quite sensitive to being hurt by others, but not necessarily emotional.
- 🍼placements would be fire/water dom in the chart. most emotional people i’ve met seem to have a mix of cancer and fire(usually leo/aries) strongly in the chart
- gemini placements talk a lot with their hands, if you’re curious if someone has gemini in the chart and they’re not talking your ear off, see how often they use their hands to communicate.
-gemini mercury also makes someone great with ASL. These people are quick and pick up on learning the signs easily. usually good with directions too
- aquarius venus/sign dominance chart people are not flighty, they can be extremely loyal if developed and to the right person. I have noticed that these people have very high morals and can be rigid in the “ideal” partner, dare i say on par with a virgo venus, but can have a low tolerance for putting up with things they deem unattractive/not for them. this venus will DROP you like an old egg salad sandwich if they feel disrespected, if undeveloped they’ll leave over minor slights and hurts.
-uranus in the 1st really is a weirdo placement. not in bad way, they’re truly one of a kind. my best friend is a cap rising with uranus in the first and she is a bad bitch truly, definitely not afraid of shock value and doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
-undeveloped scorpio venus really can be scary, especially if coupled with a scorpio mars(also mars square/opposite pluto can be guilty of this as well) a lot of my family members have this placement and they will not let their significant others go at any cost, even resorting to methods of restriction/control and at worst cases violence. once they’ve “picked a mate” that’s that and it’s almost impossible for them to move on, and if they do “move on” they hold a grudge. love can feel extremely deep and uncontrollable to them, and at the deepest level of their heart, they want to hide how scary it is for them.
-1st house stellium people have a rapid cycle for changing their looks. real chameleons look wise. i’ve noticed most dye their hair a lot, and may have quite a few different looks. the face over the years can change a lot, changeable mannerisms and an energy you cant quite “place” no matter how comfortable you are with them.
-Mercury (r) people are underrated. they have a wit unlike any other, they’re also incredibly good at puns and have a sarcastic demeanor. kings and queens of making people say “oh i hadn’t thought of it that way” and “zingers”
-people who can be described as the “life of the party” typically have an 11th or 5th house stellium
-saturn in the 8th house may really fear the depth of sex. may either wait a long time to lose their virginity or struggle with ED (due to nerves) truly “casual” sex may be hard for them
-gemini/cancer rising really DOES look youthful for a dumb amount of time. even with age they have a childlike look to them
-undeveloped leo mercury can be liars in the way of “protecting” others from the truth. they can also twist stories to try to make themselves look better.
-taurus sun/mars are good with building things. woodworking, pottery, welding, cars, and have quite a bit of endurance to stay and finish tasks (if they don’t have adhd lmfao)
-libra placements are FLIRTY and it’s not said enough. either intentionally or unintentionally. if someone flirts with them they’re usually too nice to outright reject someone and will go along with it
-libra sun/moon men want approval more than anyone else. definitely not afraid to kiss ass in order to be liked, especially true if they’re mutable dominant (fixed and cardinal will still have a strong need for approval but they’re also quite prideful to off set it)

💓 Astro Notes PT 3 ! 💓
+I’m definitelyy gonna do sign posts soon, like houses, planets, asteroids, and all, it’s all gonna have a theme to each topic yada yada yadaa, so look outtt+
>A bit of a long post here so have fun scrolling through it hehe :))
*All aries risings have sign/house synchronization because the house order doesn’t move or if it does move at all it hardly does, only shifting by a sign or two depending on how late the ascendant degree is, this is notorious of aries’ independence streak by wanting each sign to be in their native houses, to feel its house’s full power, aries rules 1st the house of identity so there’s the more symbolic way for this occurring. It’s pure energy here.
*Venus-saturn, especially conjunction, definitely carry a big daddy vibe. It’s more prominent if the two are placed in the angular houses.
*Taurus and libra are both rules by venus, but these energies are distributed between the two signs in different ways. A basic way to differ the two energy wise is taurus is the “masculine” side of venus, libra is far more “feminine”. Both are delicate but in different ways taurus is “heavier”, for it being an earth sign, contrasted with the airy and flighty libra.
*Libra sun is in fall in astrology, the fall meaning the behavior of the sign contradicts the traditional role of the planet, the role of the sun is to stand out from everyone else, its your radiance, what makes you special, it’s your ego and what you take pride in. But libra wants to be relatable to everyone, to NOT stand out, merge and meet and balance !! This is the opposite of aries, aries is independent, “what makes ME independent, me me me !!”, explaining its exaltation when the sun enters this sign, it’s not absolutely the same as leo sun or the suns energy overall but it’s a close fit, almost... perfect, that’s what the exaltation means represents here. Libra is focused on everyone else around them, everyone other than themselves, the people around them and how they can compromise to fit everyone’s needs. I mentioned before they don’t like to stand out, this is excluding fire placements in a libras chart which will create a person who relates well to others but still demands to stand out in whatever planet is in a fire sign.
*Whatever house leo is ruling is wherever your rising sign’s ego is being expressed in, ex: leo in 11th expresses their ego, creativity with friends, causes. This area of life is where you’ll likely take most pride in, excluding the suns placement in the chart.
*Neptune in 7th can attract a lot of partners in need of healing or help. This person is very healing and guiding in relationships, maybe they could even make a good guidance counselor, but I’m not so sure astrologically because I haven’t looked into it entirely, let me know if this is true.
*Neptune in 2nd is the type of person to browse a shop, find whatever they like but never end up buying it, they change their minds about it by putting it back right before they leave. They could’ve been talking about hooow much they want to get whatever they’re holding onto over and over again but never buy the thinggg.
*Aries mercury were always told to lower their voice or be quiet as kids I swear.
*Uranus in 12th feels they should hide their brilliance, these are veryy creative people they just keep it a secret.
*12th house feels like a never ending game of hide and seek, you find the planet sometimes but you’re always in a never ending loop, always searching for it.
*The moon in astrology, when looking into the mother, who’s ruled by the moon in astrology, describes your relationship with her, what she’s like, how she raised you etc...
*Ex: taurus moons, your mother gave you many gifts, she adored youu as taurus is ruled venus which rules gifts and appreciation, she was also very relaxed in your childhood, she still is now. This relationship is a very calm, steady one, moon is exalted in taurus meaning the role of the moon is comfortable in relaxed and comfy taurus.
*Ex: a moon in 8th, the house of intense and psychic scorpio, could have a psychic or even telepathic bond to the mother, this is a very strong connection overall and depending on its sign and aspects is where you’ll find the specifics of the relationship from, the details, how the relationship is flavored.
*Sun in 12th indicates an absent father figure. This placement is difficult, i’m so sorry if you have it because you can never feel like you can be yourself, it’s hidden from you. With any other placement in astrology, there’s a gorgeous, forgiving upside to it, you’re very healing and understanding of others, an empath or at least someone who sucks in the negative vibes out the environment, it can get quite exhausting !! so always need to seclude yourself now and then, you’re very loyal and caring of your loved ones, people love you for your sensitivity and empathy as this placement also makes you an old soul, someone overflowing with wisdom others rely on.
*5th house shows you what your child will be like, what traits they embody, what they will do and even how they act.
*Capricorn risings look elvish, they have high cheekbones a lot like a LOTR character and elvish, chiseled ears. It’s not OUT there but it’s subtle.
*Chiron in 9th has experienced religious trauma.
*A lot of 12th or 8th house placements carry a lot of karma.
*Mercury-pluto (especially negative) can become inconsiderate in arguments, they bring up a ton of shit to use against you, only as long as they can win.
*Scorpio suns are far more optimistic and light hearted than the moon sign.
*Mercury-ascendant aspects can make even an introverted rising sign more out-going, open, talkative (not that introverted risings can’t be talkative this is just what comes with this placement).
*You may be good at something without realizing it, take a peak at your 12th house or quintiles !! For quintiles, look up the trine form of whatever two planets are aspected for the general description since there’s not too much to find online sadly. 12th house is something you don’t really know or realize you’re good at, especially early in life, the secret talent pertaining to whichever sign or planet are ruling/in this house.
*Leo venus take pride in their loverss like damnnnn they literally treat their partners as royalty, king and queen, kissing the ground they walk on and everything, they’re so devoted in love, it’s adorable !! <33
*Pisces and leo moons, THE dreamiest, most romantic moon sign pairr, it’s well known pisces is the hopeless romantic of the zodiac, however to bring up the flamboyant, dramatic leo moon when describing a dreamy romantic you wonder, really ?? Yes this is extremely true ! Both signs, pisces and leo, are fairly alike, almost alike in fact, considering they both create a inconjunction in the natal chart, two signs who share some similarities while still contradicting one another in ways they express these similarities, both pisces and leo are creative, talented, have a love for the arts, film, music, loyal as friends and love to care for others, both are insanely idealistic. Leo rules the child remember !! so they’re a childlike sign with young idealism, an idealistic moon sign here. Both leo and pisces moons are children at heart, they’re so gooey and sweet.
*Sun in 10th can get any job they apply for, they could even be terrible at that job they want, the one they want to try out for, they would even have a breakdown over how terrible they were in an interview but still get the job like HOWW- WITCHCRAFTT.
*Aquarius mercuries were known as the smartest kid in class, the einstein’s of the class, everyone asked for their answers for the homework, they just carry this flair of intellectual superiority just like the sun sign haha.
*Your 12th house is what you unconsciously give off the vibe of, your ascendant and midheaven are noticeable layers, different types of layers of you !!but the subtle layers of the 12th house, sign or planet, can always be sensed unconsciously, 12th house energies are at a higher octave, a higher vibration than the other houses, even 11th, you can notice a person’s subtle 12th house energy but they’re still completely unaware of it as it’s ! hidden ! from them.
*Aquarius venus, and really all air venuses in general, are soo stereotyped UGHH, what I mean by stereotyped is the descriptions of each of these venus signs is literally like the same shit over and overrr again, they all get terrible reps in the astro community it seems almost close minded because it’s also such a hugee generalization. It’s only about how the air venus energy is used, manifested in the person, if its underdeveloped or not. If it’s underdeveloped it’s going to be chaotically afloat from material love affairs, which earth venuses don’ttt like, water too, fire can handle the floaty-ness but if the passion’s not there- BYE !! If you develop an air venus well enough, you can balance the material and intellectual realms in your relationships, this is kinda natural for earth heavy charts with one the air signs here, however fire or even more air could become a little tricky to ground yourself in relationships. Just let your partners know you deserve your space because you guys can really run out of mental power after a while, so it’s necessary for you to recharge !! just don’t ghost people completely when you do, it’s where this immortal stereotype comes from.
*Saturn dominant people are flawless beings.
*Saturn in 3rd, YOU GUYS ARE SOOOSOO SOOO SMART AHH. Their minds are always running at a fast pace like literal lightning, or they become too overwhelming (not in a bad sense ofcc, it’s just how it is) that the person’s speech rhythm is kinda forgotten about in a way, it feels like that their mouths aren’t always running in sync. The thought they’re going to express into words should come out but it’s so quick or even “heavy” it jumbles up a sentence or it causes the person to mix up a word or two. Their minds are fast fast fastt but they feel like their mouths are running in literal slow motion. There’s nothing wrong with this, this placement makes amazingly smart peoplee. Just relax, try letting yourself go in conversation, let all that big, brain energy freee !!
*Alsoo, as singers they would and definitely ALWAYSS get their notes right, they have actual PERFECT voices, they really should become writers or, like I said, singing would be perfect for them because they would never mess up lmaoo.
*Libra, computerized concern and sympathy...
*Pluto in 8th feel unbeatable, indestructible almost, they have above average regenerative abilities, they have the best survival tactics but they keep it a secret, it’s 8th house we’re talking about.
*Whatever saturn is in is the area where you’ll become flawless in, you’ll master that area throughout your life with time.
*There is a guiding planet in astrology, the planet that is closest behind the sun, it’s considered your “second” chart ruler, or basically has the energy of it because you can probably relate to it being one of the most prominent energies in your chart.
*Sagittarius//9th house mercury is soooo blunt, so blunt. Wait did I mention they’re SOOO SO BLUNT.
*Moon in 5th need to perform, they love to get out on stage and perform with their entire hearts, they’ll do amazing in the performing arts, theatre, and honestly they probably already aree. These people are so playful and generally so fun to be around, they’re natural hypemen as well !!
*Taurus venus love to be appreciated by their partners, the gifts, the kisses, the food and allll.
*Neptune in 3rd feel everything in their environment, they can sift through the energies and vibes, it’s second nature, no not second nature, FIRST nature, they’re one with everything around them. Their minds are like a hazy, cloudy ocean containing every drop, every thought of a place, a person.
*Moon in 11th, and 10th too, have a special ability to understand and sympathize with the public, they always know what the public wants and even how to give it to them. This can easily get them famous since they’re extremely understanding people, especially if moon is healthy in the chart.
*Someone with a lot of capricorn/10th house or aquarius/11th house energy is very extroverted, they enjoy socializing with others but suffer from social burn outs often, they often need to recharge.
*Scorpio risings have intense voices, like their tone radiates throughout your head and it can feel intense overall, even when they’re speaking casually. The specific flavor or tone doesn’t matter but how it sounds overall is piercing.
*In astrology, libra rising starts the house cusps with each houses sister signs ruling each cusps ex: pisces rules 6th house, the house of virgo in astrology. Symbolically, libra wants to balance out the houses by blending the energies with the sister signs together, by with what is (house number) and how it’s done (sign on each house cusp), for balanceee !!
*Moon conjunction uranus TRANSITSS can cause literal earthquakes on earth, shocking news or something shocking or groundbreaking will happen that day either around the world and in personal, daily life. Ex: this transit happened on halloween during the blue moon, so basically no one ever trick or treats in my neighborhood, like barely anyone comes out i mean, it’s always 5 houses apart where people typically hand out candy, some people are just hanging out, we always run out of houses to go to since it’s not very active, but this year EVERYONE was out trick or treating it was so crazy to see so many people out, it was quite literally shocking because that actually never happens also there’s a whole pandemic going on too lmaooo.

World Building Wednesday!~ Etherium
🌼 I decided to share one of my AU worlds that is not Fell based. Yes... I know... what is the world coming to? Etherium in essence is my stab at an Outertale based universe though the story and the designs are very different. I really enjoy this one though I don’t talk about it too much. Let’s get started!
Etherium AU
Classification: Outertale Alternate “Nicknames” Info:
Tumblr media
Sans: Nova- Nova is the trickster though he is mostly associated with that of Loki. Loki is described specifically as “Playful, malicious ( ok maybe not that one), helpful, and nihilistic.” He helps others in a kind of goofy over the top way. He just doesn’t take much seriously. Nova is one of the youngest. He acts very childish at times coming to question how long he has been among the pantheon. Some argue his many centuries gave him a nihilistic outlook on life or that he is too young to understand the true ways of the world.
Not to say that Nova can’t be serious but he is pretty laid back. It’s one of the reasons unlike the others he doesn’t really keep his cultural ties in his design. He should have more Norse in it but nah… varsity jackets are cozy right? I mean he is wearing star shorts for stars sake. When asked about his job he mentions, “Hey, there kiddo. Nice of ya to drop by. Been up to? Heh well got a “new” job which is pretty cool. Not as cool as Pollux but I help arrange stars. Ya know, like the ones you see in the sky you can make pictures out of? I think you humans call em… constellations. One time I made this giant whoopee cushion one. “Then I lost ma job. Got a second chance though. Andromeda's constantly watchin me. hehe no harm done though.”  Both Pollux and Nova refer to each other as brothers but it is unclear if they are biologically related. Their abilities and strengths are nearly opposite and their mythos even more so.
Tumblr media
Papyrus: Pollux- The presumed older brother of Nova. Pollux is associated with Egyptology specifically wisdom. Pollux tends to be the opposite of Nova in that he takes his job very seriously. Once on earth he was known as Thoth gracing humanity with a mechanical and architectural knowledge that astounded the world. His mind and intellect put him at the forefront of innovation making him one of Capricorn's best and most trusted advisors.
He enjoys testing the mental prowess of others using puzzles and riddles of his own design. Unlike canon Pap Pollux cares more about balance in life. Something his younger brother seems to lack. Not all work and not all play. He is kind, helpful, and willing to give advice to anyone that is looking for it. To the little human Frisk he is a good mentor and teacher. (Pollux has made it his pastime to create a series of challenges to prove a humans worth. If they pass then they are able to speak/ see them. No one has managed to prove themselves.)
(more characters and info below the cut)
Undyne: Andromeda- Andromeda is not different from canon Undyne as she embodies the Mayan mythology. She is mostly closely associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcóatl. A deity of wind and rain. Also known as the life giver. Though Andromeda tends to harken back to her more aggressive roots she has a deep respect for the King and acts as his guard. Just like Pollux she too acts as an advisor, though more on matters of security than strategy or mechanics. Such a position is where she first met Elara and to this day the two are inseparable sharing their very different cultures. Her favorite kind of anime to watch are mech based.
Alphys: Elara- Very similar to canon Alphys just as this version of Undyne is. Alphys is based off of Sukuna-Biko-Na (少名毘古那) or the shinto god of medicine and rain. Elara is still very much a scientist and one that has a unique fascination with living things. Everything from the planets, to humans, animals, and plant life. She particularly enjoys spending time in her private greenhouse creating and taking care of all of the plant life. Before the monsters were forced to leave their place among the humans she was able to collect all the DNA of the plants and animals on the planet.
They are stored in a kind of ark in which to preserve them if anything threatens their existence. Elara is very traditional in her work as her medicines are derived from her magic as well as herbal substances. She is very curious however as she is not allowed to interact with the progress of humanity but rather watches from afar. This is where her love of anime takes hold. Her favorites are ones like Sailor Moon or any type of magical girl anime. She will sit with Andromeda and watch them for hours. Her demeanor is very shy at first but once she opens up she will be a friend for life.
Asgore: Capricorn- The head of the cosmic pantheon he is the King as he is in the original. He is associated with Celtic mythos though he has taken on many pantheon roles in his lifetime. Ambisagrus, a god of thunder and lightning, Ancestor God, Sky God, God of Wind, Rain & Hail is what he is based off of. One such role is that of Zeus who’s main symbol is that of lightning and thunder. Just like the Zeus of mythology Capricorn is constantly debating his involvement with humanity.
Whether that be to stop their technological advances or aiding in their lives. A large portion of his time was spent with his subjects not so much his wife Aurora who is the jealous type. Capricorn is not a ruthless leader but he does know that sometimes hard decisions must be made. Just like UT Asgore he is kind and benevolent, however, he has a temper if you make him angry enough. His magical abilities lean more toward lighting then fire but he has that ability as well. He tasked Elara to watch over human development should a problem arise.
Toriel: Aurora- The Queen to Capricorn she is known to be easily jealous. It would explain why Zeus wife Hera also shares these traits. Her Gaelic deity tie is that of Arianrhod a goddess of the moon and stars. She creates life from the stars she creates sometimes causing them to take a form of their own. They are almost like living constellations. Some say that the Queen made such life to combat her own loneliness which her Son and Husband spent time away. In addition to the stars she is also known for being a loving mother and caregiver. In her time on earth she used to watch over and protect children and their families. Aurora though previously jealous of her simple in the universe has come to accept and embrace it. She is kind but rather over protective. Anyone that forsakes life will feel her wrath.
Muffet: Umbra- Umbra is associated with Hindu mythology as a goddess of wealth and prosperity. Though earthly riches do not concern Umbra she still has a taste for the fine silks and gold that she once had on earth. A little about the goddess that she represents: Lakshmi's name comes from the Sanskrit word laksya, meaning an aim or goal. She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Unlike UT Muffet, Umbra also focuses on a spiritual wealth. A peace of mind.
She is ever the optimist even when things do not turn out to go her way. In times of need she is called those in the struggles of self worth trying to bring them into a different understanding. There have been many a time when Umbra calms Capricorns quick and rash judgements, much to Auroras displeasure. Just as with the rest of the pantheon she is kind and helpful even with her yearning to return to the people she so loved before they were forced to the outskirts of the galaxy.
Grillby: Helio- Helio derived from sun is my OT Grillby. He out of all the characters could care less about either being a deity or an observer. He is known to be at a middle ground. He would rather live his days running a social establishment but during his time on earth he was known for his magic. Originally he was the right hand of Capricorn being depicted as a war deity for his fiery nature. He was the general of grand armies. His armor is something he hung up long ago but if called into court he will wear it once again. It’s design is very reminiscent of Roman centurions.
Though depictions of him are curious since his name back then was referred to as Merlin. He was best known for him magic and alchemy and the concoctions he made during a period of time far lacking in imagination. Just like Nova, Helio, tended to interfere far too often in the affairs of man though noble in purpose. He tends to be outcast among the pantheon for his past conduct but he is content in his lab mixing crazy concoctions. Everything from love potions to disguises. His forte is all about alchemy and magic.
Asriel: Azicree (Azi)- Azicree or Azi for short is the Crown Prince. By monster standards Azi is still very young, however, he has lived for far longer than any human can fathom. His mother used to shelter him until he begged for his father to let him prove himself. He still acts like a child always curious and desiring some form of exploration. Much to Capricorns dismay Azi enjoys spending time with Nova and the two become pranksters in general. He tends to not do as he is told, which is why they are in this mess in the first place. His reckless behavior had him appearing to a human that begged for his salvation.
The matters of life and death are ones that are not to be messed with. Those that do find their souls being tainted for all eternity turning them into something other than just a monster. 9X is an example of such tampering. Azi does learn his lesson and begins to try and shape up to be a worthy successor to his father if such a thing ever did come to pass. He studies off of all those he knows especially Pollux who is more than happy to share such knowledge. His associations are non existent since he was born after the times of gods. His abilities seem to be mimic based.
He is able to learn about abilities and use them at will. It is rare that monsters have children and as such Azi is the little prodigy child even though there are many times he just wants to be a kid. He makes friends with Frisk very quickly and learn a lot from the human visitor.
Gaster: Nero is the Gaster of this universe. He is Capricorns pantheon counterpart. In essence the Hades to his Zeus. He is the monster that everyone thinks about when darkness takes hold. He is the one that associates with apocalyptic events such as ragnarok. He is however not evil by any stretch of the imagination. He would be better suited to be called a god of chaos. He tends to reject the laws placed upon the rest of the pantheon regardless of repercussions.
It’s speculated that both Pollux and Nova were a part of him and crafted into the monsters that are known today. Nova being his more devious side which Pollux is more his intellect and drive. He has been locked away for a very long time in a prison aptly named Tarturus. His abilities are space and time oriented very similar to Nova which makes him difficult to imprison. He of course has been in his cell for quite some time and it is unclear if he actually has had a change of heart or using it as a manipulation tactic.
The only one he speaks with on occasion is Azi wanting to learn more about this planet they all used to call home. It is information that the others tend to not speak of. His father more so as he is afraid it will instill a yearning in his son. Nero’s genius is on par with his godly abilities such as creating artificial intelligence. Something that is not considered life. He uses Azi as a template for this new program...
Tumblr media
FLOWEY:
F- Friendly
L- Life-like
O- Operating system
W- With
E- Earthbound
Y- Yearning
Tumblr media
F.L.O.W.E.Y was created by 9x and Nova with Azi as a template. He is a charismatic AI who was originally created as a helper as well as to teach the Prince about their planet of origin. Unfortunately Flowey does not have the same reservations about disobeying his father as Azi does. Even going so far as to integrate with key and vital systems in The Capital. He even manages to intercept a human vessel that he finds exploring. Flowey is not evil he just is driven to be the best help he can without regards to any type of consequences. He helps Frisk meet and learn more about their existence. He acts as a companion.
However when Frisk becomes friends with Azi Flowey's AI goes haywire. He begins to feel emotions he is not technically allowed to such as jealousy. This causes him to try and eliminate those threatening him which in this case would be all the monsters. Eventually Azi attempts to program himself into the interface changing it’s initial programming.

Background and Context:
A long time ago there lived beings of great power. They could bend space and time with a simple thought and bring life to their creations. These were the gods. Ones of great benevolence but also great and terrifying power. Humanity, a primitive race just starting to understand life itself, became their focus. At first their interaction was very rare only occasionally appearing to help but as time went on those interactions became more drastic. Their assistance and knowledge was seen as godlike to this humans.
They would bring gifts and offerings to their new deities in hopes that they would look favorably upon them. That they would impart their wisdom and magic if they were pleased. In time this became more and more tradition. A religion built upon pleasing these deities so that their lives would be far improved but this became a conundrum for the beings. Some remained benevolent and helpful while others becomes greedy and wrathful. The power began to go to their minds corrupting their souls. These instances were written down in variation by the humans making up grandiose stories of fiery chariots and jealous gods. Thus mythology came into being for humanity. A way to explain the things in which they did not understand.
As with each religion and deity the monsters each became associated with a specific culture or mythos. Some being pinnacles of their pantheon and others being lesser deities molded to suit a specific task. These monsters rarely interacted with ones of their own kind but as power shifted some of them took on roles of others. One monster could have been the god of war in Greek mythos but end up also as the god of thunder in Norse. There were no limitations to their influence. One such “deity” was that of the trickster. A monster that tended to be rather childish in his ambitions jumping from pantheon to pantheon looking to lighten up his other “deities” stern demeanors.
The monsters began to pull away leaving their presences in name only and occasional help but this was short lived. It caused problems, war, destruction, and feuding powers sadly began to use their civilizations as almost pawns. Their meddling almost destroyed that which they wanted to originally protect. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The “gods” faded from existence only being remembered in myths and legends. The great prophecy of the Norse. The architectural marvels of the Egyptians. Now they reside in the furthest reaches of the galaxy. They spread out among the stars but a group of them resided in a Capital of sorts. A station at the edge of the Universe. One which no human could ever reach.
Tumblr media
The Humans Impressions:
When the monsters left the humans to their own devices they worship continued long after. Eventually the magic and the miracles that had once been performed faded into history. The monsters were all but forgotten unless mentioned in mythology or scary stories. The humans never harbored any animosity toward them since they no longer believed in their existence in any form. They only understand what their ancestors depicted them as. The monsters as well don’t really have anything against humans either. All in all, they just go about their jobs and enjoy the universe, helping from time to time discreetly if need be but never showing their faces.
Tumblr media
Main Plot Synop:
The plot to Outertale is very simple as it is more based around the world than it is the actual plot. It is very similar to that of the regular UT timeline with some notable differences. Once the humans reach an age of technological advancement they begin to spread out and search the stars. Some of them encounter monsters which they mistake for aliens (hilarious enough. I mean Jerry looks like an alien.) They begin to build colonies living more and more outside the reach of their own galaxy. Humans however tend to turn on their own creating factions within the space colonies. Some more prosperous than others.
Frisk’s colony was one such beast being cut off from the other colonies as a drifter. Unfortunately Frisk’s family was nearly non existent and being stuck on a space colony was little to be desired. After seeing a streak of fire slamming into the outskirts of the colony. Frisk decides to investigate. They have always been the curious type disobeying orders and questioning everything. The colonies outer and more dangerous regions became their playground finding old pieces of technology. Eventually they stumble upon a crashed ship. One that  It seems to damaged to be used but it’s nothing like they have ever seen before. Everyone else on the colony consider it to be cursed.
Tumblr media
The strange runic language is confusing but Frisk finds that there is one lone computer onboard that seems to still function. It flickers with a bright yellow light showing an almost pixelated Flower with a =) face on the screen. Over the next few days Frisk returns to decipher the runes with the help of their new friend which they find out is called Flowey. It is a project that the curious human enjoys and for once it is nice to have a friend. Eventually the runes are deciphered claiming some sort teleportation capability. Once Frisk is close enough the system fires up on its own sending the human straight to the monster Capital on the farthest reaches of the universe. A place that no human has ever been.
The rest of the story is an exploration of this new environment. Frisk befriends the monsters who don’t attack first. They actually mostly want to engage with the human showing off their ability a little bit. A part of them misses the previous worship. Nova seems to take a particular interest in this new human especially when they befriend Azi. They work to help shut Flowey down only for Azi to impart his knowledge on the interface helping it understand. Frisk has nothing to return to so they stay with the monster and become Azi’s human tutor so that one day maybe the monsters can return and live side by side the humans once again. Both Azi and Frisk are almost like siblings coined the star children.

excerpt from a council of golden swords: tattooed cairic king
planned this scene weeks ago, forgot about it, enjoyed writing it immensely. poor kayani, they're so in love
anyway i hope you love this as much as i loved writing it, acogs has been kicking my ass this week and this was a nice battle won
~
Asma crosses her arms. “Take off your shirt.”
Kayani chokes on their own saliva. “What?”
“I’m going to paint you. Take off your shirt.”
Kayani stares at her, open mouthed, a thousand indignities resting on their lips. Asma taps her foot, paintbrush held between two fingers, frowning impatiently. No excuse, no argument, no plea will ever sway her. She is unmovable.
Kayani stares at the floor and loosens the laces of their shirt before whipping it off. They ball it up and stand there holding it until she snatches it from them and tosses it on the sofa. “Sit on the stool,” she says, “and for Cai’s sake, stop looking so stiff. Actually look like you want to be here. You don’t even have to smile. Just look a little less queasy.”
Queasy for a different reason, Kayani thinks, but obediently sits on the wooden stool in the center of the red, blue, and gold room. The yearly trip west, spent in close quarters with almost all of the Cairic army, has driven the modesty out of them, but everything is different with Asma.
She sits on the ottoman and drags her easel closer to her, a tray of paint pools sitting beside her on the sofa. The easel legs scraping against the floor makes Kayani startle. “Relax,” she orders in a tone that’s anything but relaxing.
Kayani folds their hands and tries not to slouch. The hairs that itch when they fall into their eyes will be the least of their worries over the next few hours. Why else would Asma paint them shirtless if not just to torment them?
Once Asma has everything apparently set up to her standard, she looks up and rakes her eyes over Kayani’s torso. Her breath hitches. “You have so many tattoos. I forgot you would.” Her voice disturbs the quiet of the room, breaking a sacred peace, or however peaceful the two of them alone can get.
“Isn’t that why you wanted to paint me shirtless?” Kayani asks. “Why else would you?”
She hides her face behind the canvas and doesn’t bother with an answer. Kayani prepares for a long set of hours filled with waiting, an aching back, and keeping their walls firmly up.
After ten minutes of silence, Asma working quietly, she asks, “What does that one on your chest mean?”
Kayani resists the urge to look down and earn themself their first don’t move, idiot. They could trace the lines of the * in the darkness, in their sleep. “The death of my mother.”
She gasps. “You got tattooed when you were just a child?”
They shrug. “I’ve known some babies who got tattooed after birth because of a difficult or scary pregnancy, complications that should’ve killed them. Parents, too. We use our tattoos to cope with many things, many emotions, but prominently grief. For many people, the experience itself of sitting there for ten hours while a needle pokes into your skin—it helps.”
“By enduring pain?” Asma asks.
Kayani shrugs. “Some people find solace in pain. It’s something real they can grip onto.”
“That’s the funny thing,” Asma says, peering out from over the canvas. “It isn’t.”
Kayani’s eyes drift to the tattoo on her forearm, she follows their gaze and pulls her sleeve down. Kayani remembers it all too painfully well—her poorly stifled tears and cries while getting it, their own desire to comfort her squashed by the hatred in her eyes. It’s their fault she has it.
“What about that one?” she asks, gesturing to the wings covering their shoulders.
“Are you asking because you’re genuinely curious,” Kayani asks, “or just trying to fill the air?” They want to poke further into her reasoning, but they don’t want her to change her mind and throw them out. Alone time with Asma is bliss as much as it’s torture, and they’ll take every last bit of it.
“I got the wings one year after becoming king,” Kayani says. “To celebrate not being assassinated.”
She snorts. “Get better guards.”
“I am my own best guard besides Ajar and Samad. I didn’t want to trust anyone else. The palace guards on rotation can only do so much against an assassin hired by someone who was angry I became king and not my sister.”
Asma rolls her eyes, the soft strokes of her brush soothing to listen to against the faint chatter of birds. “And the one on your back?”
“You’re not painting that one. You can’t even see it right now.”
“Answer the question, dimwit.”
Kayani grins. As much as they love to nag Nikolai about being attracted to the ones who seemingly want nothing to do with you, they’re no less guilty. “I got the first part done after I survived the Trials.” After healing up upon their return, they went straight to the royal tattoo artist. They knew exactly what they wanted: Ajar and Samad standing side by side, blue eyes pointed to the moon.
The two of them are right outside—if Kayani’s quiet, they can hear them scratching at the door—but an ache for them runs through their chest regardless. Sometimes they’re convinced the three of them share a soul.
“I would’ve gotten the outlining done before I left for the Trials for good luck and gotten it filled in after I came back, but I didn’t want to deal with unnecessary pain. I got the second part added on after I came back from my first trip west with the army. That time, I did do it in two halves for good luck, like many of my soldiers.”
Going to get those outlines and later the full lines done with their soldiers had been one of the most rewarding experiences of their life. Sitting beside ten others in a salon, all laughing or grimacing or telling stories to work through the pain reminded them that they could still mix with normal people. Winning the Trials didn’t make them special in the soldiers’ eyes, and Kayani liked it that way.
Their second back tattoo consisted of a light brown stag leaping across the center of their back, over the dogs. “Each trip after was another add on.” They’ve since added a grassy field for the stag and the dogs to rest in, stars for the moon, flowers and sparkles in a mix of reds and browns.
“Your entire body will be covered by the time you die,” Asma says.
“That’s the goal.”
As the hours go by, Asma asks, and this? What about this? That one? What are the ones I can’t see? Kayani answers her every question, shares every story, every memory. They don’t tell her about the one on the back of their ankle, small enough to miss. A golden paintbrush.
Finally, when the sun is halfway to setting and Kayani’s lower half has gone numb, Asma announces she’s done. Kayani wobbles to their feet toward the canvas, but she picks it up before they can see it. They sigh quietly but don’t question it—until she turns around.
She’s painted them in a background more heavily red than the wallpaper behind them. It brings out the red in Kayani’s tattoos, which are obviously the star of her painting. The edges of Kayani’s muscles are blurred, but the lines of the tattoos are as clear and sharp as they are on their skin. Their eyes are halfway open, tired, and Asma captured their faint smile at something she said, maybe some memory that took them away.
The sun from the glass wall behind them drips golden light onto light brown skin, a glowing backdrop for the tattoos. Kayani sat with their left forearm up, right hand holding that wrist, but Asma painted the opposite to hide the tattoo there.
Kayani has never had the eye for beautiful artwork, nor the time to study why people devote their lives to it, but this makes them reconsider. Not because it’s them, of course, they’re not that vain. Because it’s Asma.
“I will call it ‘Tattooed Cairic King’,” Asma says. Kayani can’t take their eyes off her nonchalant expression, the casual way her fingers grip the canvas. She completed this in a day and she acts like she’s holding a piece of cheap furniture. Doesn’t she know all of her artwork will be studied meticulously after her death merely because she’s a queen?
Not just because she’s a queen, Kayani thinks. Because she’s an incredible artist. They wish they had the courage to say so, but knowing Asma, she’d make some crack about their narcissism.
“Where are you going to hang that one?” they ask. “Which guest room or dining hall or office will get the pleasure of seeing my tattoos?
She fixes them with a look. “My suite wall.”
The floor seems to swim under them.
“I thought you hated me,” they manage. “As you pointed out, last time we were together you told me to never come into your sight again.” They gesture to the canvas. “I think that violates your rule.”
For once, Asma’s silence seems to be because of her loss of words, not dramatic pause or the bother of answering a question. “It’s some of my finest work,” she settles on. “I’d like to admire it often. Let people admire it when I’m dead.” She closes her eyes and runs her finger along the top of the canvas. “Also, I’d like to do your back sometime."
“What?” Kayani sputters.
“Oh, come on. If you can survive a needle pricking your skin for ten hours, you can survive sitting still for another six.”
That’s not the problem, Kayani thinks, but only nods. Cai have mercy.
~
kayani being shook by asma's ability to Art is me @ all the talented artists here yall rock

MASTERLIST
I update this list everytime I watch and review a show.
Disclaimer: These reviews are subjective and only reflect my opinions. There are no drama on that list that I’ve turned off and all are worthy of a watch.
Recs welcome!
#1 Crash landing on you
(사랑의 불시착)
Grade: A++
Genre: Modern, Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Son Ye-jin (who plays Yoon Se-ri) and Hyun Bin (Ri Jeong-hyeok) have amazing chemistry and every episode plays out like the chapters of an excellent fanfiction. Classic romantic tropes, humour, angst, action, CLOY has it all. Moreover, if you’ve never watched a Kdrama in your life, CLOY is a great starting point—not only will it introduce you to Korean culture but also to popular tropes and codes of the genre.
#2 Rookie historian Goo Hae-ryung
(신입사관 구해령)
Grade: A++
Genre: Historical, Age gap
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Delightful from end to end, with lots of humour and an engaging story. The romance between Goo Hae-ryung and himbo-prince Dowon will make your heart go soft, especially if you’re into reverse gender dynamics (she’s older and kisses him first *le gasp*)
#3 Memories of the Alhambra
(알함브라 궁전의 추억)
Grade: B+
Genre: Modern; Sci-fi; Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Intriguing premise, great cast and tons of special effects but the romance between Jin-woo (Hyun Bin) and Hee-joo (Park Shin-hye) won't go down in history. On top of that, the ending is a bit wishy-washy in that annoying “maybe there’s more to come” kind of way. Give us a clear cut ending, damnit!
#4 Good doctor
(굿 닥터)
Grade: B-
Genre: Modern, Medical drama
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Good heart but the writing is really clumsy at times and the hospital politics don’t make an awful lot of sense. On the bright side, Joo Won is great in the role of Park Si-on.
Note: I haven’t watched the American remake so can’t compare.
#5 My love from the star/ You from the stars
(별에서 온 그대)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Sci-fi, fantasy, Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 21
Happy Ending: Yes-ish
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Jun Ji-hyun is absolutely stellar in the role of Cheon Seong-yi, a ditzy Hallyu* star whose career is going south while Kim Soo-hyun plays the emotionally closed-off alien to perfection. Lots of pinning, a dose of angst mixed with a pinch of wacky humor.
*Hallyu means “Korean wave” in Chinese and refers to the popularity and spreading of Korean pop-culture outside of Korea.
#6 Hwarang The Poet Warrior Youth
(화랑)
Grade: B
Genre: Historical, Coming of age, fake siblings who catch feels
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Cute boys and interesting lore rooted in true facts (the bone rank system and the real Hwarang, the “Flowering Knights” of the Silla kingdom) but the story drags. I guess I expected more bromance and frolicking and less angst. Lastly, the main girl starts off quirky and fun but they quickly transform her into a sobbing mess which becomes real annoying real fast.
#7 Love in the Moonlight / Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (구르미 그린 달빛)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, Romance, Coming of age, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 18
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
A classic tale of a girl raised as a boy who ends up in a situation where she needs to do her best to not blow her cover while catching feels (As someone raised on Versailles no bara and Ribbon no Kishi, it remains one of my favourite tropes)
Sweet romance and good characters. The fact that Crown prince Lee Yeong doesn't turn emo when he starts developing feelings for Eunuch Ra-on before discovering she's a girl is the cherry on top of the cake.
#8 Something in the rain
(밥 잘 사주는 예쁜 누나)
Grade: C
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes, but it still doesn't make you happy
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Wasted potential!
Great start but the characterization falls apart quickly and you end up wondering why the main characters keep sabotaging their lives. By the end, despite their reunion, you're left with the impression they've learned nothing and that their relationship is doomed to fall apart.
On top of it all, watching Jin-ah fight sexism in the workplace and gaining nothing is depressing af (I don’t need realism in my escapism, thank you very much).
Too bad because Son Ye-jin and Jung Hae-in look really good together and the acting is top-notch. My advice is to watch the first 8 episodes then make up your own ending in your head.
#9 Moon embracing the sun
(해를 품은 달)
Grade: B+
Genre: Historical,Star-Crossed lovers
Episodes: 22
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
A traditional historical drama with all the tropes that go with the genre + a hint of esoterism.
If you love ill-fated relationships, tragic love triangle, evil queens, and amnesia, this is the show for you. Beware, the interrogation/torture scenes are rather brutal.
#10 My sassy girl
(엽기적인 그녀)
Grade: B-
Genre: Historical, Rom-Com
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Cute and lighthearted but easily forgettable. Still worth a watch thanks to Joo Won & Oh Yeon-seo's chemistry.
#11 Coffee Prince
(커피프린스 1호점)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Solid story, great cast but be ready for a lot of bickering.
Yoon Eun-hye is a precious bean who manages to sell the story of Eun-chan, a struggling androgynous working-class girl who mistakenly gets hired by a rich guy to play his boyfriend, then becomes his employee, then falls for him while not correcting his assumptions about her gender. Opposite her, Gong Yoo (from Train to Busan fame) is 🥰🥰🥰
Sidenote: Despite Han-kyul's struggle to accept his feelings for Eun-chan, homosexuality isn't treated as a joke or a shameful thing. The one time he goes seek “medical help”, the doctor is depicted as an old, clueless idiot. And honestly, the story would work too if Eun-chan was a guy.
#12 My girlfriend is a Gumiho/My girlfriend is a Nine-tailed fox
(내 여자친구는 구미호)
Grade: B+
Genre: Modern; Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki - Available on Netflix (FR) too
Campy and goofy. It does look a bit dated (it’s from 2010) and the story is a little predictable but Lee Seung-gi as Cha Dae-woong, an aspiring action film actor and Shin Min-ah as “Gu Mi-ho” the nine-tailed fox looking for a mate are super cute. The show is also a good introduction to Korean folklore.
#13 Goblin / Guardian: The Lonely and Great God / The Lonely and Great God – Goblin
(쓸쓸하고 찬란하神 – 도깨비)
Grade: A+
Genre:  Modern, Historical, Fantasy, bromance
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes-ish
Watched on: Viki
Unpopular opinion but since I’m not into older guys, I wasn’t invested in the romance between Bride and Goblin until late in the series. I loved everything else though. The show has such a unique tone and atmosphere. It goes from super serious to goofy in no time. The cinematography is gorgeous (especially the historical sets) and you'll cry your eyes out.
#14 Healer
(힐러)
Grade: A
Genre:  Modern
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
If you're into toll broody guys and fearless smoll girls, you’ll love Healer. The story is great, the characters are great and the way Jung-hu (played by Ji Chang-wook) and Ji-an (Park Min-young) are horny for each other is peak drama! *chef kiss*
#15 Kangchi the beginning/Gu family book
(구가의 서)
Grade: B-
Genre: Historical, Fantasy
Episodes:
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Engaging coming of age story of a half-human half-gumiho looking for his place in this world. If it wasn't for the wishy-washy ending it could have been the perfect mix of action fantasy and romance.
Special mention for Dam Yeo-wool (played by Suzie Bae) who is a female character who's allowed to be a bit of everything at the same time (strong, kick-ass, funny, cute, romantic)
#16 Queen for seven days
(7일의 왕비)
Grade: A
Genre:  Historical, Romance, Villainous crush
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
With that title don’t expect a HEA but there are plenty of sweet moments along the way to make you appreciate the journey.
Chae-kyung loves the Prince and the Prince loves Chae-kyung but the King wants to kill the Prince and Chae-kyung is loyal to the King but the King is a tyrant and everyone wants the Prince to take his throne. On top of that the King wants Chae-kyung. Big mess. Lots of feels.
The story is (very) loosely based on real-life Queen Dangyeong, which makes it even more poignant. I cried my eyes out at the end because I’m a big softy.
#17 Korean Odyssey
(화유기)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Kinda
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The show (very loosely based on Journey to the West) has its faults including the wishy-washy ending and the fact that Jin Seon-mi/Sam-jang starts off as a doormat but I ended up liking the relationship developing between the assholish Monkey god and the naive human girl more than I expected.
The side characters are compelling, and the banter and bickering between the deities work really well. If you grew up with Dragon ball, you’ll have a blast trying to match-up the Japanese and Korean names of everyone without looking up Wikipedia.
Lastly, not something I imagined saying after seeing him in Gumiho and Gu family book but Lee Seung-gi as Son Oh-gong = BDE *fans herself* 🥵
#18 Strong Girl Bong-soon
(힘쎈여자 도봉순)
Grade: A-
Genre:  Modern, Super-Heroine
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning: Graphic depiction of violence against women
A++ super-heroine story, bad side characters
First, every girl should aspire to find a Min-hyuk in their life. Someone who'll love them because of their strength, and support them unconditionally. Someone who won't ask them to change or pretend to be somebody else.
Second, western media should learn that a super-heroine can HAVE IT ALL—the superpowers AND the love AND the family.
My only complaint with the show (and that's why I gave A- instead of A++) is the inclusion of many cringy side characters/situations that spoiled my overall enjoyment (see the caricatural flamboyant gay co-worker, Bong-soon’s mom hitting her dad, the mobsters...)
#19 The K2
(더 케이투)
Grade: B-
Genre: Modern, Political
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The romance is bad and the political story far-fetched but Ji Chang-wook is 🔥🔥PEAK HOTTIE🔥🔥
Tumblr media
That being said, I didn’t completely dislike the political intrigue and it was interesting to see the good guy working for the villains (sort of).
#20 Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok-joo
(역도요정 김복주)
Grade: A+
Genre:  Modern, Coming of age
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Uplifting coming of age story and super sweet romance. Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) & Joon-hyung (Nam Joo-hyuk) are precious children on top of being cutie-patooties. Bok-joo’s insecurities hit hard, especially if you’ve ever been outside the norm of beauty standards.
I liked how the show normalizes therapy and taking care of your mental health.
In one word…
SWAG!
#21 The scholar who walks the night
(밤을 걷는 선비)
Grade: B
Genre:  Historical, Fantasy, Vampire, posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Guilty pleasure.
Don’t ask me about the details of the main storyline, I’ve already forgotten most of it. Sometimes all you need is a show where a hundred-something years old good vampire with a sad backstory and the main girl who is thirsty for the good vampire are fighting a sexy evil vampire.
PS: Did I mention the sexy evil vampire?
Tumblr media
#22 Romance is a bonus book
(로맨스는 별책부록)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Friends to lovers
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Imagine reading a relaxing book under a cozy blanket while sipping hot cocoa. That’s how that series made me feel.
Everything is sweet and soft from the characters' fluffy jumpers to the soft palette of color used for the sets. People make books and love books. There’s a mystery but no unnecessary angst. If you need a break from everything, jump in that ship.
#23 Hotel Del Luna
(호텔 델루나)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Sorta
Watched on: Viki - Available on Netflix (FR) too
Interesting world-building and a good cast of side characters but the romance lacks a bit of oomph.
On the + side, the hotel sets are gorgeous and Man-wol's wardrobe is to kill for.
#24 Suspicious Partner
(수상한 파트너)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Star-crossed lovers in an office
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Toll serious who hates criminal falls for smoll weirdo falsely accused of murder. A must watch for anyone in search of a quirky romance.
#25 Touch your heart
(진심이 닿다)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Tooth rotting sweetness. The series is just a pretext to watch two good looking people (Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na) being nice and awkward around each other. What do you need more? 0
Note: If you watched Goblin you can also pretend it's a spin-off series about the reincarnations of Grim Reaper and Sunny. 💡
#26 Because this is my first life
(이번 생은 처음이라)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Fake marriage
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
The Fake Marriage AU you’re looking for, mixed with slices of modern, messy, complicated life.
The main storyline revolves around Ji-ho an assistant drama screenwriter who struggles to find her place within the patriarchal structure of Korean society, and Se-hee, a socially incompetent computer designer who only cares for his cat and his mortgage. The way they end up in a fake marriage as well as the development of their relationship feels organic and doesn’t rely too heavily on comedy like it’s often the case with that trope.
The show also follows the stories of Ji-ho’s friends, Su-ji and Ho-rang who have different aspirations in life—Su-ji’s goal is to become CEO while Ho-rang only cares about becoming a housewife. I loved that the show makes a point to not pit women against each other and advocate living your life the way YOU want rather than trying to follow societal expectations of what love, work and marriage should look like.
Also they have the cutest cat.

Bite-size BL gem to devour in one sitting.
Stellar acting from the two leads and the balance between fluff and angst is just right. There's no graphic violence that sometimes plagues yaoi and BL and the story is believable. I got emo remembering my first love.

Trigger warning for graphic depiction of violence
Big surprise. I was looking for a cheesy comedy but it was actually a thoughtful story about humanism. I even teared up a little.
Trigger warning for needles. They do some pretty impressive procedures with those acupuncture needles.

The silly premise hides a solid story that keeps you on your toes and I was suprised by the rollercoaster of emotions I went through.

#31 Life

Grade: C
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Kinda
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Unless you want to learn how fucked up the private health sector is becoming in Korea, there's not much to gain watching this show.
The story starts off well though. The problem is that by the middle of the series the writers have dropped the main mystery (the circumstances surrounding the death of the director) to deliver an exposé on the political machinations of big corporations, and then shoehorn an explanation at the last minute (“it was all but a misunderstanding”). Very underwhelming.
The relationship between the two brothers played by Lee Dong-wook and Lee Kyu-hyung is the only bright spot.
#32 Pinocchio
(피노키오)
Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Fake family members who catch feels
Episodes: 20
Happy Ending: Yes

On paper, the story sounds a little crazy but it all comes together nicely.
Lee Jong-suk and Park Shin-hye have great chemistry and deliver a stellar performance as “uncle” and “niece” (not related by blood) who can’t fight the romantic feelings they harbor for one another. The main storyline has enough twists to keep you entertained and surprised.
My only complaint is that it drags a little. 16 episodes would have been enough.

Park Ji-eu (the writer) read the little mermaid and decided to give her a happy ending. Great chemistry between Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun but the spark is missing for me.
The antics of modern-day mermaid Shim Cheong are a little predictable and Joon-jae needs to be less of a control freak at times but the story remains enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised to see Shim Cheong’s character grow, making the power imbalance between the clueless mermaid and the con-artist less pronounced by the end of the series.
The side characters are interesting but underused, and I wish Tae-oh was more developed. On the other hand, the Joseon area sets and costumes are absolutely gorgeous (Don’t tell anyone but Joseon!Lee Min-ho is hotter than Modern!Lee Min-ho 🥵)
#35 Tale of Arang / Arang and the Magistrate
(아랑사또전)
Grade: B
Genre: Historical, Fantasy,
Episodes: 20

One word: Campy.
Interesting lore but the pacing is a little off—there’s a lot of back and forth between the characters and the locations and the love triangle doesn't add much.
#36 My ID is Gangnam Beauty / Gangnam Beauty
(내 아이디는 강남미인)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Coming of age
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
If you’ve ever been bullied for your looks, you’re gonna bawl your eyes out.
The show does a great job of calling out the unhealthy beauty standards imposed on Korean women but the topic is universal enough for the story to resonate with everyone. I love that you never see Mi-rae’s old face because it’s not our perception of her lack of beauty that matters but the fact she suffers greatly. Don’t you hate in western shows when they take a beautiful actress, give her a pair of glasses or a fat suit and call her ugly, making sure the audience feels shittier about themselves? Here, the writers concentrate on Mi-rae’s transformation and her coping with the consequences of her decision to do plastic surgery.
It’s also not a revenge fantasy where the ugly duckling suddenly becomes the most popular girl at school. Being a “Gangnam beauty” leads to a new form of suffering.
Romance-wise, it’s the slowest burn of slow burns because Mi-rae and Do Kyung-seok are the most socially awkward beans on the planet. I love them, Your Honor.
#37 Tale of Nokdu
(조선로코-녹두전)
Grade: A
Genre: Historical, Posing as the opposite sex
Episodes: 32 x 30mns
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki - Now available on Netflix (FR)
Fun and lighthearted all the way through.
The story of a guy who puts on a dress to investigate a village of widows could have gone very wrong but it was well handled. It’s refreshing to see the classic trope of posing as the opposite sex reversed and Jang Dong-yoon is never cringy when he’s pretending to be Lady Kim Nok-soon.
#38 Bride of Habaek / Bride of the Water God
(하백의 신부 2017)
Grade: B
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Content warning: Crime against fashion
Promising premise and lore (I'm interested in reading the original comics now) but the writing fails to deliver an epic romance and a cathartic ending. Moreover, the sets lack imagination (or money?) and in the end I failed to ever feel immersed in a fantasy world.
The unfortunate consequence of the clumsy writing is that the male characters who are meant to be arrogant/confident Gods (Habaek and By-ryeom) sound like they're negging their love interests more than wooing them, and the relationship between Mu-ra and By-ryeom particularly irked me.
#39 Strangers from Hell / Hell is other people
(타인은 지옥이다)
Grade: A+
Genre: Modern, Psychological Thriller
Episodes: 10
Happy Ending: Spoiler
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Content warning: Violence
What a departure from everything else in that list! Absolutely worth a watch if you enjoy thrillers and shows like Hannibal. If psychological horror isn’t your cup of tea though, you might give it a pass.
The storyline and the characters are a little cliché (it goes with the genre) but the cinematography and photography are fantastic. You can notice how the pension becomes more and more sinister throughout the series via the use of dark greens and browns and pale yellows, as opposed to the mundanity and coldness of the city (greys, and cold blues).
Last but not least, the acting is top-tiers. Im Siwan does a great job at portraying Jong-woo, an aspiring crime novelist who slowly loses his marbles but the true revelation for me is Lee Dong-wook. After seeing him so many times in roles where he plays awkward yet charming men who can barely express emotions, I was intrigued to see him take on the role of a serial killer, and holy cow, he's the perfect mix of sinister and alluring. Towards the end of the series, his character Moon-jo acts like a black-hole whenever he appears in a scene—a towering, dark presence who sucks the light out of the room (If he carries any of that darkness in the upcoming Tale of Gumiho, it’s gonna be *chef kiss*).
#40 Empress Ki

Episodes: 51
Happy Ending: From a certain point of view
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning for violence against women (not graphic but implied)
51 episodes.
Fifty.One.Episodes.
That's a lot of episodes considering the story starts with the ending.
Did I enjoy this show? Yes, very much so. Do I think it's for everyone? Nope.
You'll enjoy Empress Ki if you're into old-school historical sagas or you wished Game of thrones had no gratuitous nudity and violence. If you’re looking for an historically accurate biography of the real empress Ki though, then look away because Empress Ki is basically a lengthy fanfiction trying to justify how the Goryeo native Seung-nyang married the wimpy Emperor of the Yuan dynasty whilst trying to portray her as loyal to her motherland and to her first love, the Crown Prince of Goryeo.
Personally, I didn’t care for the love triangle formed by Seung-nyang (Ha Ji-won), Wang-yoo (Joo Jin-mo) and Toghon Temür (Ji Chang-wook) but I liked the politics and the backstabbing. Also, contrary to GoT, the bad guys get their comeuppance at the end so it makes watching the side characters die less painful.

Genre: Modern, Modern fantasy
Episodes: 24 x 35mns
Happy Ending: I guess

How do I put it? It's not *terribad* but it's not *good* either.
I was super on board with the concept—if Lee Seung-gi can bang a nine-tailed fox in My girlfriend is a gumiho, I have zero issues with Sol ah, our heroine, falling in love with Hong-jo the cat-person after being dumped for no reason by Jae-sun her boyfriend—but it didn’t exactly develop that way, and as soon as they explained why Jae-sun had broken up with Sol-ah, the writers lost me because I like when things happen for a reason.
#42 Clean with a passion for now

Grade: A-
Genre: Modern, Rom-Com
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Super zany and tropey but that’s why it works so well. The only reason I’m giving it a minus is because it’s trying to be woke but in the end there’s still a lot of unsolicited grabbing and some iffy remarks/pick-up lines said by every male characters (IRL that’s the kind of story that ends up with a restraining order and a lawsuit for sexual harassment).
#43 Mystic pop-up bar
(쌍갑포차)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Fantasy
Episodes: 12
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Trigger warning: Heavy themes (miscarriage, pregnancy, loss of a child, death of loved ones)
You know how the meme goes... Sometimes a family is a hot-tempered bar owner, a cursed kid and an ex-Afterlife-Police officer with a secret past.
It took me a few episodes to get into it, but once the characters were established it became really enjoyable.
The tone of the series leans toward wacky but the core of the story is actually pretty dark if you look into it. Every grudge they solve for their “clients” gives a clue about Wol-joo’s personal story and by the last episode I was crying my eyes out.
Last but not least, Wol-joo’s collection of modernized hanboks is *chef kiss*
#44 My secret Terrius
(내 뒤에 테리우스)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern, Action, Comedy, Bromance
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
An enjoyable action drama to watch with your family or your significant other.
Koreans prove that you can write a story about a black ops agent on the run who becomes a childminder without reeking of toxic masculinity. Contrary to American comedies where the manly-man-hero working undercover is incompetent and believes that working with children is a woman’s job and a waste of his manly-man talents until he has an epiphany of some sorts, Kim Bon (played by So Ji-sub) never once expresses discomfort to the idea of looking after two kids. In spite of his sober demeanor, he’s a caring and attentive person from the start and watching him gradually becoming a part of this spunky family while investigating a national security threat made my heart go awww.
Opposite him, fearless and resourceful mom Go Ae-rin (played Jung In-sun) brings a lot of energy, and the twins are absolutely adorable.
#45 Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
(달의 연인 - 보보경심 려)
Grade: A--
Genre: Historical
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: No
Watched on: Random streaming site
Don’t get attached—Moon Lovers is the missing link between Empress Ki and Boys over flowers, but with a sad ending.
I did binge watch the series but there are some frustrating aspects to it that prevented me from giving a perfect score, notably the fact that Wang So remains possessive and demanding with Hae Soo throughout the years—for instance “You’re my person” is a romantic statement until it evolves into “You can never leave me.”
The other problem of the series is that Lee Ji-eun (UI) does cute and goofy really well, but she doesn’t have the emotional range needed to portray a character who goes through many heartbreaks and betrayals. As a result, Hae Soo appears a little fickle in her infatuations with the princes.
That being said if you’re a sucker for tragic romance and you believe that power corrupts even the purest of love, you’ll have a blast.
#46 Forest

Grade: B++
Genre: Modern, Romance

UST in the woods (Dat first kiss 🥵🥵🥵)
The characters and the story are a little cliché but who doesn’t love a story where the protagonists are clearly attracted to each other but can’t act on their desires because their moral values are opposite?
*slams fist*
San Hyeok is your typical heartless businessman who refuses to confront his childhood trauma, and Yeong Jae is a surgeon who suffers from panic attacks and cares too much about other people. They’re both good looking and fate brings them to a remote village in the middle of the forest where they have to share a house. Really, I wonder what’s gonna happen?
#47 100 Days My Prince / Hundred days husband
(백일의 낭군님)
Grade: B+
Genre: Historical
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Viki
Trigger warning: Important character death.
Cute and charming but also very annoying at times. Obviously, the story is tropey af (fake marriage doubled with amnesia, you can’t really beat that) but it also includes elements I’ve never seen in any other dramas like the fact that the Crown Princess is pregnant with another man’s child (le gasp!). The things that annoy me the most were the unnecessary flip-flopping of the heroine towards the end of the show for the sake of creating artificial drama (just let them be together FFS!) and the fact that the male characters take a lot of decisions for Yeon Hong-shim.
Romance wise, Do Kyung-soo and Nam Ji-hyun are really cute together but in the end I found myself more interested in the political intrigue and the side characters than the main romance because slow burn has its limit. In essence, it’s the perfect drama to watch with your conservative family because whilst the main couple is living under the same roof and is technically married they don’t get frisky.
#48 I Am Not A Robot (로봇이 아니야)
Grade: A++
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Angsty with a good pay-off.
With a premise like that, things could have gone wrong really quickly but the writers managed to write a story that isn’t a man wanting to fuck a robot because real women are scary so big kudos for them. Seeing Min-kyu celebrating his Roomba’s birthday because he has no other friends will instantly melt your heart and from that point on you’ll cheer for his recovery. The show has the right amount of angst without becoming a mess and they handle the big reveal very well, making sure to show how hurt both Min-kyu and Ji-ah are by the situation, without making you doubt that they can find each other again. The other strong point of the show is that it’s not just about romance, it’s also about friendship and learning to let other people in your life.
The acting is incredible to the point that by the end I wondered if Yoo Seung-ho and Chae Soo-bin were making out in front of my salad or if I was still watching the characters Min-kyu and Ji-ah being lovey dovey.
#49 Sungkyunkwan Scandal (성균관 스캔들)

Hana zakari no kimi tachi he with gats.
This show checks so many boxes when it comes to my favourite tropes story-wise and character-wise that I instantly fell in love with it. It might feel a little dated for a younger audience and it definitely suffers from the second male lead syndrome (who wants unseasoned boiled chicken when there are not just one but two juicy rotisserie chickens on the table next to you?!) but it’s still very much enjoyable. Also, they don’t shy away from using the word “homosexuality” and having one of the second lead confessing to having romantic feelings for his friend (I’ll take any scrap of bi-representation, okay?)
#50 It’s Okay to not be okay  (사이코지만 괜찮아)
Grade: A
Genre: Modern
Episodes: 16
Happy Ending: Yes
Watched on: Netflix (FR)
Found family.
In spite of one ridiculous plot twist (that I was aware of when I started the show) this show has made me feel all the feelz. The three main actors all did a phenomenal job portraying their characters in all their complexity and fragility and I ended up crying so many cathartic tears in the second to last & the last episodes. The relationship between Sang-tae and Gang-tae is one of the best sibling relationships I’ve seen on-screen in a long time while the romance between Moon-yeong and Gang-tae blends perfectly elements of comedy and melodrama. Mental illness isn’t treated as something to be ashamed of, whilst showing that you can grow and recover from trauma and finding your own happiness.
PSA from my boyfriend, who dropped the show before the end:
The plot twist is so stupid that it takes away from the rest of the series. In my opinion it negated the positive portrayal of mental illness built up until then. They completely lost me.
^ We discussed a lot about it which is why I wanted to share his POV to balance my own review.

Hi, I wanted to ask about my career in tarot. Should I keep pursuing it....what will be the outcome? I put my some of my birth chart placements. Didn’t know how much information you needed.
I’m Mars and Aries Dominant( Taurus sun 10th-Scorpio moon 4th- Leo rising)
My Mars placement is in (Taurus 10th)
Mars Aspects(Sun conjunct Mars, Moon opposite Mars).
Aries placement(Venus 9th, Mercury 10th, Saturn 10th, Aries On my midheaven)
Tumblr media
hmm... an odd mix of cards maybe. my first impression was perhaps you’re someone who often puts work into a hobby or career path and gives up on it if it doesn’t go anywhere. i say this because i see the effort of the seven of pentacles and the waiting, but then i see the 10 of swords and devil... i did look at some of your placements and saw that there would be a heavy drive to succeed in the ventures you commit to... and as i was shuffling, emperor/tower turned out together and king of cups. so i feel like besides your mars/aries stuff, your moon may have a lot of influence as well...
i also like to look at the numbers, so i see 1s, 2s, 4s, 6s... so self, relationships, home/love/security, foundation/balance/structure......  definitely going to clarify because i’m curious about this two of cups and justice and if it’s referring to a person or the idea of self-balance/self-harmony...  especially with the devil popping up... i asked a very simple question - like where will a career or path in tarot end up?
the devil always makes me think of saturn, too, and maybe your saturn is in taurus since it’s 10th house and saturn in 10th people don’t like to have a lot of freedom of choice, they like things to be decided and maybe that’s why the numbers are odd to me... maybe not only do you prefer structure for your self in terms of goals but also in home life, relationships, with family...
justice can be fairness and balance but it can also be weighing something and choice... sixes also make me think of choice but then i would’ve expected the lovers or a two of wands or two of swords...  libra can be associated with venus as well as saturn.... so again it’s like your saturn plays a hand in love and career (choices)... i don’t think the cards in particular answered the question, they’re almost telling me that... something has to do with a choice or harmony, and then investing in something, an end... and then limitations or negative patterns maybe associated with these things, moving on, holding on/structuree, and then inspiration/motivation... but ace of p is at back with four of cups...
it could be a pattern you’re not seeing, an opportunity that’s being ignored... or it’s just relaying to me that maybe you give up on things if you don’t know where it’s going or if it lacks some kind of structure or... clear lines... because if you don’t know where you’re going, you lose interest/enthusiasm. i don’t know if i put it together right but there are components of that since it matches some things i read about the placements i looked up...
the simplest way to read it before clarification is that you were given a gift... because it’s almost like justice is... say the universe/karma... and then they gave you this cup/gift... you developed the skill... you’re asking about ending it... and moving on...  and tbh the seven of p, 10 os and devil all give stuck vibes.... maybe the two of cups is the exchange of like you doing readings too... and the six of swords is stuck between two earth cards so i definitely see a strong sense of... no movement so maybe you feel like you’ve plateau’d... or learned all you can or the learning isn’t improving...  four of p also has that sense of stuck and staying in this one spot... - but then there is this new ... enthusiasm... opportunity coming through, though - but you aren’t seeing it. so i don’t know if it’s you ignoring your potential or ignoring... like what you could be doing with this skill... or if the cards want you to...  try something new with it. like - start a blog or youtube or etsy shop, change it up so that it doesn’t feel so static to you anymore? let me clarify tho b/c it’s a bit wonky.
first i pulled a couple oracles
cattail - “acceptance”. “this flora takes comfort in a cradle of water steeped in decay. in return it nourishes its community by offering sustenance and safe harbor to fauna and flora alike... we actualize an advantageous abode when we honor our hearth. is it safe place that encourages tolerance and respect? what elements could be added or subtracted to make it more loving and accepting?
hyacinth - “waves” when the sun god apollo lost his true love hyacinth he was overcome by waves of grief. like apollo, we can become flooded with emotions when someone or something we love is taken from us.. when faced with this reality, treading water keeps us afloat until we muster the strength to swim forward. knowing life is a series of waves that occasionally ebb and flow, how do you remain buoyant? when faced with great waves, what skills or tools take you to shore safely?
it’s weird how hyacinth kinda follows the visuals of the card...
i’mma clarify to see how those fit with the big picture
ok justice clarified by 7 of wands two of cups is page of cups 7 of p is knight of wands (yes you certainly have a lot of fire energy lol) 10 of swords is five of wands and devil devil is 3 of swords and four of cups six of swords is ace of cups four of pentacles is page of pentacles and 9 of cups ace of wands is queen of cups
page of cups clarified by six of p reversed and 8 of p queen of cups clarified by king of s reversed with two of p, 3 of w, two of c and justice at the back of clarifying deck...
so many twos - relationships, teamwork, cooperation, companionship - the moon
the two of cups and six of p issues i’m drawn to the cattail oracle in meaning but visually i’m looking at the 10 of swords.
hyacinth makes me think of this six of swords...
i’m curious why you started tarot as justice fell out first and with a seven of wands there’s a sense of... standing up for your beliefs, like, social justice but in terms of legal matters can also be about being on the defensive...  i have a lot of strong mars, too, so it makes me very self-righteous-y and... assertive. so i’m going to go with more of the standing up for justice energy...  but two of cups is usually about a mutual relationship - work or romantic/reciprocity... but here there’s a sense of a lack of equality with the six o p reversed... and 8 of p makes me think work or skill... it could have to do with a reluctance to share your talent because it feels one-sided or you’ve lost motivation. we’re not doing a romantic reading so i’m not trying to read love stuff unless you’re pining for a libra. but this seems more work-related with the pentacles...  as for the page of cups, that’s the sense of having passion for what you do or compassion i guess. back to the cattails i guess it all comes down to... with tarot, what’s your motivation? do you want acclaim, money, fame... or do you want to help people? do you want both?
it depends on your motivation for even asking this question at all. no shade - i totally get the pitfalls and questions about doing tarot, especially as a serious career. it’s great to help people but you also have to make a living and people could take advantage of the situation if you’re doing it for free... but definitely people are successful at this, whether on youtube or not. but everything takes time, work, skill to build up to something serious...
seven of pentacles with the knight of wands... these are a bit contradictory for me as one is a card of patience and the other one is a bit more of a rush. sometimes that can be mixed up because it’s standing in for you as a fire sign but as a fire sign... well you might be a bit less patient anyway. you’re just not seeing the results you want to as fast as you want them but there is passion here.
obviously next cards the devil is quite prevalent. you didn’t mention a cap placement and otherwise that’d be your sixth house or so... you didn’t mention that... so it’s either saturn or all the literal meanings of the devil card - or both...
so sitting on 10 of swords (ending), there’s five of wands - conflict, inner conflict, competition... and devil... like with everyone it seems i would take 10 as an end to a cycle but with devil and five of wands it’s like some conflict or issues surrounding the ending of a cycle... but also... again i’m back to... it’s not a fear of change, to me it feels more like a (bad) habit of ending things too quickly or for reasons that are a bit... bad habits. as a tarot reader yourself, i’m sure you get what these all mean together... and then  the actual devil clarified by four of cups and 3 of swords... so it’s like disappointment and not seeing results or discontentment - unless you’re meditating on some bad love breakup. or another way to read it is kind of... a tendency to hide your hurt...  i suppose that’s a scorpio trait, right... to hide away the intense dark feelings...which would be maybe a negative habit but how is it relevant to the message...  i’m using the wild unknown deck btw so in the three of swords... and ofc with four of cups it’s that stuck visual again... plus the two people are chained on the devil. so... it’s like a literal limitation with all cards involved. maybe a repeating cycle that you’re not acknowledging that has to do with hiding hurt or... when you are hurt maybe some petty projection onto others... i would probably say it could relate to your mars opposite moon or moon in general.  or just inner struggle around hurt/disappointment that manifests in a negative way - possibly within relationships (like one on one)... but then again five of wands can be more than one... so any relationships or... work collabs, etc...  maybe it centers around your negative feelings/results regarding doing tarot...
but moving on after all that, the six of swords clarfied by the ace of cups. so there is a sense of... moving on to something new, some new creative venture or ...  and i’m back to this notion of a need to know that a venture will be successful before you’ll commit to it... because moving on makes me feel like... i don’t know if it’s to say if you stop doing tarot because it’s grown stagnant once you move on you’ll feel more enthusiasm because this could just be talking about your pattern of picking up new things frequently. nothing wrong with that btw. if it’s boring and not making you happy - by all means go do something that gives you that ace of cups feeling instead of all this waiting and devil and three of swords and being stuck. but this could also be a message to take it in a new direction that would be more fulfilling...   four of pentacles for me is money/security/holding on... and then nine of cups plus page of p makes me feel holding onto a dream job/ideal or... wishing for a job that provides security...  ace of wands being queen of cups with the king of swords reversed...  it could be a message to follow your heart instead of whatever your mind is telling you... follow what you feel passionate about because wherever there’s passion, you’re going to feel more inspiration/drive/enthusiasm.
if you ask me - which you did - yeah i could read that you find tarot boring and it’s not going anywhere and maybe you have something new in mind you feel more into because you do want a career that can provide that security and structure... and rather than try to overthink it, you should do what your heart is saying.
that is a way to read it unless it’s... finding a new way to look at why you do tarot and what you want out of it...
but the logical thing anyway is to say ... if it’s not going anywhere and that’s how you feel, trust how you feel even if you think you’ve invested so much time into tarot already that it’s a waste.
it’s not to say you can’t ever come BACK to it.
the other option is that just how you’re doing tarot now is static and unfulfilling and you might want to change up the medium so that you feel reinspired...
i’d like you to take a look at the oracle meanings as other stuff going on with you besides tarot might appear in those messages tho i left out a couple sentences on each but you get the idea...
because i do see this... you are just treading... and the tarot do advise and show more positive cards once you move forward after a cycle... and then what to do when things are just up and down - like how do you adapt to that? what’s going to get you to where you want? will tarot get you to where you want? i know you asked me that but i think you probably already know if it’s what you want.
cattail might be a more personal message. i grew up around cattail and they tend to grow out of mucky, murky pond/lake water and it gets so overgrown and messy but it also gives shelter to birds and frogs and turtles to hide and such...  it’s not as pretty as the hyacinth but it does provide a service to its little habitat
as for colors, well they’re all here, but a lot of blues, yellow, purple with a hint of green and red. so throat, solar plexus, crown...then not as much heart and root.
i actually feel like these areas are more active than blocked...  so maybe root and sacral are in need of alignment *shrug*
i feel like those active ones should correspond with the numbers somehow - 1, 2, 4, 6
oddly this would be root, sacral, heart, third eye... haha all the colors that don’t show up as much...
doesn’t matter.
so what’s your path... well all i can say is there’s some stagnation... and the thing that i suggest is forward movement - whether that’s quitting and trying something new or evolving how you do tarot currently because perhaps you feel frustrated or bored with your progress or don’t feel like tarot will provide any kind of financial stability...  if you are thinking about taking something to the next step, i do suggest that as something new that makes you feel more excited than you have been will come in... but you do need to move on from SOMETHING that feels very negative and stuck and may even be a cycle of habits concerning motivations for the things you do...  maybe someone you know will offer you to do a joint project or work together on something and that could be more exciting.
i won’t say you do or don’t have potential. how should i know? i’ve been doing it for a year. but i know i don’t want to do this as a CAREER, that’s not what my heart wants but i could do it as a side gig or hobby for forever... but it’s not my THING tho i’m happy to help people out as long as i do it.
so if your heart isn’t into it anymore - don’t feel like you have to or take a break for a while to do other things that inspire you and come back.
there’s no right or wrong answer and maybe you hate having so much choice lol...  and there are opportunities here that are either coming or you might miss or aren’t seeing...  so if you WANT to and if you enjoy it and you feel passionate about tarot, yes there is opportunity, especially money-wise....
but there’s opportunity in anything... so... if your heart says you like it and you want to then yes... if it’s ugly and boring and not fun anymore - then do something new for a while or forever  because i kinda think you can grow something no matter where you go or what you do so it’s about what is most emotionally satisfying to you... and then it’s about putting the work into it.

julian amante , twenty - three , cis male , THE TOWER .
amusing , candid , resourceful , petty , cataclysmic , arrogant.
first of all HELLO !! im z. 25 / she+her / pst. im thrilled to be here and honestly a little shocked ?? my app was a rushed MESS but im so happy the admins understood my nonsense !!
this is going to be a lil long so pls bear w me. im going to break it down into sections and eventually make an entire bio , but this will do in the mean time !
connections are here , & my discord is zvvf#1885 !
* tw for mention of drugs & alcohol
. . .
TAROT ━
the tower represents chaos , destruction , & upheaval. this change is usually sudden & unexpected -- & not always good. the tower itself is a symbol of ambition , but in this card we see it built on faulty premises & false beliefs , all of which are no longer useful.
the ruin of the tower is inevitable -- necessary for growth & groundbreaking renewal. it’s time to break out of the old ways.
AESTHETICS ━
cracked asphalt , bloody knuckles , tangerine sunsets. the smell of freshly cut grass . still , slow mornings. a neat row of fire ants , climbing up your bedroom wall. broken stained glass , an overgrown field. tears of laughter , the only you’ll ever shed.
money in a yellow envelope , guilt in your eyes , pressed flowers , a string quartet , corruption , loss of morals , student debt , a yellow light , darkness , hellfire.
THOUGHTS ━
" you’ve got your orders & that’s enough. you don’t know who’s telling you to throw your classmates off the scent , but you’re getting paid to do it. maybe your moral compass would stop you if you didn’t struggle so much in the financial department , but hey. you’re doing what you have to do to survive. if only you didn’t have to go against your better judgment for it. "
GENERAL ━
assigned to REYNOLDS house
fourth year -- senior .
currently working at the corner store as a cashier .
scholarship student -- 2.3 average gpa .
athlete , st. cade’s lacrosse team .
BACKGROUND ━
grew up in a small town in arizona , in one of those unfinished suburbs that ran out of funding halfway through a government project to “ upgrade ” that was met with widespread disapproval. it’s all empty pools & dirt lawns , a patchwork neighborhood of old houses mixed in with the new.
former golden boy who peaked in high school : star athlete , prom king , voted best smile. eternally toeing the line between CHAMPION  & DIRTBAG.
well - liked , but known for being something of a hell - raiser. out every night , hungover every morning. it was less obvious back then -- he could easily brush it off as simple youthful rebellion , rather than a real personality defect.
his first taste of alcohol was in seventh grade. a summer night , with the sun retiring for the day but leaving her kiss on the still - warm pavement. his world -- previously filled with sunday school , tense family dinners , & 24 hour marathons of professional passive aggression , was forever changed. finally , the boredom slipped away. & not just that ! this was actually FUN.
but for someone with zero impulse control . . . a door opened , & he never managed to close it.
from a young age , his parents were always involved in the church. they attended every sunday , no excuses.
this lapsed as the years passed & the amante family found it more & more unpleasant to be in the same room together , but his parent’s beliefs never wavered. religion was used as a weapon in their home -- to shame & guilt. they claimed love , preached tolerance. what they practiced , however , was the opposite. as he grew older , julian managed to weasel his way out of most of their theological outings. he gained some freedom , in addition to the ire of his family. their disappointment in him grew from a tiny acorn to a mighty oak.
his parents had their own issues , long before julian came along. a marriage between two irreconcilable people. the love they should have shared mutated into something twisted , something that they could give only to their son. it was enough for them to feed him , clothe him , & put a roof over his head. anything else was simply asking too much.
despite coming from a low - income family , things have never been particularly DIFFICULT for him. sure , they struggled. he’s lost count of the times the power got shut off , or the water. but julian was the type of kid who could charm teachers into bumping his grade up to a 71% , despite the dozens of half - finished assignments & failed tests. he didn’t really have to try -- they just wanted to help him. ( pity , perhaps ? he turns a blind eye )
he coasted through school. one of those natural athletes that coaches & admin treat like celebrities , focusing all their attention on a teenager they have high hopes for. higher hopes than he had for himself , in fact.
julian never had dreams , not a plan for his future. all that stubborn arrogance fooled them : he’s spent the better part of the past seven years stalling. cutting corners & taking shortcuts , desperately avoiding reality.
he never expected to even leave his hometown , let along attend a prestigious college on a full ride lacrosse scholarship. somehow , he played enough games & passed enough classes to qualify for an opportunity that would pluck him from his sad , tragic storyline & deposit him on a shiny path to success. a fresh start.
he didn’t want to go. fought endlessly about it with his parents , his friends , himself. his place wasn’t at some hoity - toity school , surrounded by do - gooders & the conscientious. julian may have a knack for delusion , for spinning a story that suits him in whatever moment is passing. but he’s smart enough knows what his future holds : drinking himself to an early death in the very house he was born in. you can’t fight fate -- but you can surely postpone it.
in the end , it’s the boredom that convinces him. he’s said & done just about everything he can here , exhausted all the options he cares to consider. made plenty of enemies , as well as friends. built & burnt bridges.
the expectation of his teachers , his parents , were choking him. it’s foolish to think that this might be the way out – he’ll never change. but why not have some fun , while he’s still here ?
st.cade’s was a treasure trove for julian , filled with endless opportunities to amuse himself. despite his placement in reynold’s house & the mandatory church shit ( a part of his scholarship’s stipulations ) , it hasn’t been bad. another social scene for him to invade , conquests to be had , fights to provoke. the first few years were amazing : an intoxicated blur of his own little slice of this world.
he lives in the moment , greedily gathering every experience he can. nodding off in class , smoking behind the greenhouse , collecting all the free alcohol he manages to sniff out.
he’s learned this : a loud laugh & bravado can get you far. but now , his actions have finally caught up with him. the school is threatening to terminate his scholarship , to pack up his bags & send him on the first train home. & while he has no idea what to do , he knows he can’t go back. god , no.
even without what’s keeping him – the enticing mystery of helena’s disappearance , his friends , his freedom. he just can’t stand to go in reverse ; it would mean facing the consequences of every mistake he’s ever made ( & there are quite a few ! )
he’s a shark – he has to keep moving.
that first letter came soon after the school - wide assembly. small , neat type. direct. there was no mincing words , the sender made it perfectly clear : this is his only option. if he wants to maintain this lifestyle , this is the way. so he burns the letters , following their instructions. almost relieved to be given direction. it’s a respite in the current disarray – something he used to enjoy , but now just feels exhausting. he’s the band , humming away as the titanic sinks. not my business , he thinks. but he’ll drown all the same.
PERSONALITY ━
he’s an asshole but a F U N asshole -- that makes it palatable , right ??
not a dumbass , but the lack of impulse control + arrogance could have fooled me ! his intelligence is only hinted at , invisible unless you’re looking : reciting keats from memory , listing off all 79 of jupiter’s moons. remnants of past & fleeting obsessions.
has to actively undermine his own common sense -- for the laughs , of course !
selfish ; his needs & wants come before anyone else’s. a childish habit , yes , but one he’s been unable to break. ( not that he’s tried )
vacillates between aloof & dramatic. you can count on him to stir some shit up -- he adores chaos & just can’t keep his mouth shut. petty , to a fault.
he’s hot - shit & he knows it ; well aware of his pretty face & statuesque build. julian’s never been afraid of using it to his advantage , or even just reminding anyone around him of just how cute he is. ( listen up 5′s , a 10 is speaking ! )
 has a strong aversion to authority. “ don’t tell me what to do ! ” . . . * quietly takes your advice when you’re not looking * . . .
the good parts of him are buried deep. his loyalty , his gentleness. a warm heart that can easily empathize , but chooses not to. julians pursuit of superficial gratification blinds him , warping his reflection like a funhouse mirror.
aggressive & unrelenting. this could be channeled into something of a work ethic , if he cared enough. instead , he uses it to get what he wants. whatever that might be.
curious as a cat with nine lives , he won’t hesitate to ask the question everyone’s thinking. that bluntness is almost appealing , as long as it’s not directed at you. this makes him somewhat of a good listener , even if he’s only paying attention to satisfy his own nosiness.
he’ll literally fight for the ones he loves. there aren’t many of them , but the sentiment stands. years of sports have taught him the value of teamwork , & he has yet to shake it. once you endear yourself to him , there’s no going back.
despite everything , julian manages to be a charismatic little firebrand. he’ll guarantee a good time , he just won’t help clean up the mess.
FUN FACTS ━
can fit his entire fist in his mouth
has The Loudest Sneeze Of All Time
once bit into an apple n saw a WORM inside so now he hates apples w a passion
right handed , but taught himself to be ambidextrous during the summer between fifth & sixth grade
promptly forgot he was ambidextrous & never uses his left hand
has surprisingly neat handwriting
can fall asleep ANYWHERE
likes country music ( will never admit it , tho )
his mother used to read him poetry , so he’s lowkey Very Into It
can’t carry a tune for shit , & his impressions are a w f u l. his british accent is just a cheap dick van dyke imitation , & his australian accent is what the british one SHOULD be

Do you think we will ever get a bellarke kiss? i know we got plenty of other confirmations, but it would be nice for it to be spelt out for me? i want endgame without a shadow of a doubt, is that too much to ask?
I actually believe that The 100 is around 25% ABOUT Bellarke and I believe the end game of that story is romantic fulfillment, because their relationship is NOT platonic. A platonic soulmate pairing is Sherlock and Joan, not Clarke and Bellamy. They yearn for each other and are jealous when the other is with someone else and long for something more, mutually. They are MUTUALLY PINING, which is an awesome story, imo.
It can be hard to tell what KIND of story a person is telling, and so our task as the audience, if we want to follow along and be on top of the story instead of just sitting back and enjoying the rollercoaster ride is to figure out what the story is, what genre it is, what tropes they’re using, what archetypes, what themes, what style... what TYPE of story.
A lot of genre stories are very simple and not surprising, a soap offers melodrama and mix and matching relationships, an action show offers big fights and exciting adventures and a victory to reach for, romances offer love and consummation and if a tragedy pain and loss and if a comedy or romantic genre happiness and unification of the couple.. Right?
So what the hell story are they telling HERE? It IS a post apocalyptic science fiction action adventure survival show, and so we have science fiction tropes like spaceships, AIs, mad scientists, and we have post apoclayptic tropes like quests for redemption, birth and rebirth, scavengers and warriors, mutants, savages, and we have battle scenes and sword fights and gun fights and kidnappings and rescue missions and death.
There is an OBVIOUS Bellarke storyline, and it is OBVIOUSLY (not a delusion) a love story. It IS about their partnership, a soulmate relationship, her head to his heart, their NEED to be together, she is the hero but he is the key, her need to redeem him his need to save her.  Their feelings are not platonic, which precludes romance or sexual desire or longing, thus the jealous watching while one is with someone else romantically or sexually.  BUT the question is, what KIND of romance is it??? We know already it’s a slow burn, but are we getting our established relationship? It’s what I want, but what I want is not relevant to what story they are telling. I suppose I shouldn’t have to tell you that what YOU want isn’t relevant to what story they are telling, either. This kiss and confirmation you want? It doesn’t matter. Us wanting something to happen doesn’t mean that’s the story, doesn’t mean that’s what we’re getting. That’s the kind of interpretation that leads to people deciding Lxa was the hero and Clarke her reward and Bellamy the villain, or Spacekru were the stars with Echo (WTF!? That doesn’t even make any sense,) the new hero and Clarke was the villain. Or ignoring Marper and Mackson because you ship Minty, when Marper and Mackson are also beautiful? And ignoring the actual story and the actual heroes leads to being disappointed when our wants don’t happen the way we want them to. Also, my opinion about what is going to happen isn’t relevant to what is going to happen, either. I am an observer, looking for textual clues for what story is going to happen. Now I’m a GOOD observer, and I spend a lot of time double checking my theories against the text and against logic and literary analysis thought, but I am still only putting the puzzle pieces together trying to make it fit the story they are telling.
I will say that the theory I have found MOST useful in puzzling out the story is Jungian Literary Theory.
Jung is also an influential force in myth (archetypal) criticism. Psychological critics are generally concerned with his concept of the process of individuation (the process of discovering what makes one different form everyone else). Jung labelled three parts of the self:
Shadow – the darker, unconscious self; rarely surfaces, yet must be faced for totality of SelfPersona – the public personality/mask (particularly masculine)Anima/Animus – a man’s/woman’s “soul image” (the negative that makes a composite whole)
A neurosis occurs when someone fails to assimilate one of these unconscious components into his conscious and projects it on someone else. The persona must be flexible and be able to balance the components of the psyche.
Mythological / Archetypal: A mythological / archetypal approach to literature assumes that there is a collection of symbols, images, characters, and motifs (i.e., archetypes) that evokes a similar response in all people. According to the psychologist Carl Jung, mankind possesses a “collective unconscious” (a cosmic reservoir of human experience) that contains these archetypes and that is common to all of humanity. Myth critics identify these archetypal patterns and discuss how they function in the works. They believe that these archetypes are the source of much of literature’s power. [x]
The Shadow-Persona-Anima/Animus is a particularly good fit for The 100 AND Bellarke. Bellarke ARE the Anima/Animus. In fact, we have seen again and again the dark/light, yin yang symbolism to make us subconsciously connect them as two sides of the same coin, dark and light... and they take turns being the dark and light. If they are the anima/animus, then that means they need to integrate the other (which we saw between seasons 4/5) and it also means they need to be together which we’ve seen in seasons 1-6, and which need has only gotten BIGGER as the seasons have passed.
Oh when I consider this approach more fully, I think that Octavia is the Shadow to Bellamy’s Persona... the girl under the floor, rarely let out, and once free (after losing her animus [lincoln] going out of control and becoming a tyrant that destroys the world until the persona asserts itself and feelings/pain/emotion is balanced once again with purpose/ethics/doing what is right.) You know what? I’m shocked that no one has really delved into the Hades/Persephone/Demeter allegory of Dante/Clarke/Abby. I went with Dante’s Inferno as the allegory I explored... maybe because I didn’t start doing my Jungian analysis until season 3 and they showed us that Blake illustration of Dante’s Inferno, and I took the knock upside the head the show was giving me and went OH YOU MEAN IT’S AN ALLUSION!!!!
I think this show is, well, a mix and match of different influences, and I like that. I like that we get The Divine Comedy and the bible as well as Greek mythology as well as Game of Thrones and Battlestar Gallactica and Tangled and The Beauty and The Beast and Penelope and Odysseus as well as Elizabeth and Darcy. I like that shit. The mythic/archetypal stories can be seen in ALL those references. Bellamy is Han Solo and Clarke is Princess Leia. See I love that shit.
I think in some ways, this show is about healing and becoming whole and making peace with your darkness and choosing to be better and rebirth and redeeming humanity and hopefully in season 7, although it is by no means certain, the healing of the earth itself. It’s about trauma and how we struggle to come back from total destruction, because that’s what post apocalyptic fiction is about and one of the reasons we consume it... because we can see our OWN rebirth in the dramatic, fictional rebirth (and why I hate post apocalyptic fic where the guiding principle is that humanity is doomed and there’s no point.)
Oh wait. You asked about Bellarke and I went into jungian literary analysis and Dante’s inferno and post apocalyptic fic... Okay so here’s the thing. I can not GUARANTEE you that you’ll get a kiss. Because a KISS isn’t the point. The point is UNITY, together, the head and the heart, becoming WHOLE. This is why they could end every season with Clarke and Bellamy together and victorious, but together in a different way, and still with more story to tell... because...wait... each season there has been a DIFFERENT mythic tale of the anima/animus coming together. If the show had ended at season 4, it would have been the sun/moon, always longing, never together. If it had ended at season 5, it might have been binary stars, aligned and moving in the same direction. Now in season 6, we don’t get the ending of our story. We’re still in the middle of it, but Clarke and Bellamy have actually come TOGETHER, and it is in an intimate, romantic way, with that fairy tale “true loves kiss bringing her back from the dead,” aka mouth to mouth aka “the kiss of life,”... when we know that mouth to mouth was not necessary to CPR, but it WAS necessary to the romantic trope of true love’s kiss.
See, this all brings me back to my ORIGINAL analysis on Bellarke after Hakeldama in season 3, when everyone thought Bellarke was dead and CL was the endgame story, and I went, no wait. They are the head and the heart and they can only do it TOGETHER and the main idea is bringing together the opposites/enemies/yin and yang to create a coherent whole that means that Clarke and Bellamy HAVE to be together that’s how this story works. Bellarke is endgame. I don’t make the rules.
Of course I was not aware that it wasn’t considering ONLY romance to be “together,” and the hands metaphor was used instead of fandom’s desire for a kiss, and there are other archetypal light/dark head/heart/ yin/yang king/queen stories than just the simple romance that shippers want. Not that there’s anything wrong with the simple romance. I think season 1 WAS a simple romance for them. It was enemies to friends to lovers... but without the resolution of the lovers part when they decided to drag it out into a slow burn that COULD, if we got to the end of it, be the most fantastic epic love story on tv.
I’ve faced so many years of people telling me I was delusional, I have double checked my theories and compared the development of the bellarke relationship to canon, to romantic conventions, to archetypes, to allusions, to other ships on the show. I’ve watched and charted the relationship growth for all six seasons, and the thing is, yeah they sometimes pull back and they always put obstacles between clarke and bellamy and if I saw the direction going ELSEWHERE, that’s what I would go with, because I am more attached to the story than to my WANTING it to give me my ship. But they are NOT portraying Bellarke as platonic, and they are NOT portraying B/E as endgame, but as a romantic obstacle, family, spy/master, and a “right for now” romance, rather than a Ms. Right romance. And Echo’s story is not being portrayed as her being fulfilled by her relationship with Bellamy, but by rediscovering who she is and reclaiming her life from the people who would use her, who stole her identity. Echo’s story seems to be going in a feminist direction about female empowerment and not needing no man, while Clarke and Bellamy’s story has gone in a “yes I can do it without you but I don’t want to and I need you in my life because I love you and I won’t let you go.” Bellarke’s story has only gotten MORE romantic, culminating this season in that true love’s kiss/back from the dead... which leaves us season 7, to ratchet the epic love story up one last notch.
Which notch? Consummation. So yeah, I think they’ll “kiss,” because the togetherness has steadily gotten more and more romantic every single season and I honestly can’t see what else could come between true love’s kiss and  endgame except a season worth of story about how they get from “I can’t lose you, I need you,” to endgame romantic physical and official “we are married and in love” status. But you know, i’m not one of the writers just an observer with some literary analysis.  My fave is jungian, but i like the others, too. Except maybe the first one, historical/biographical, because I don’t think that works at ALL unless you understand the text for itself outside of historical biographical context which would be a secondary analysis, and I think fandom prefers hist/bio but never bothers to understand the story being told for itself before deciding it means all sorts of things about context. oh my god rowena stop talking and just post.

Okarin: The Awakening
Prologue
A long time ago, there was a powerful race of warriors that named themselves  Exousiars. These warriors had the power to transform into dragons at will by a god, but this transformation came at a cost. If the form was not controlled, they lose themselves to the beast and their personalities are forever changed. unless they are able to find the perfect balance they will never be the same. Among these warriors was an exceptionally strong being, who became their king, named Zenith. Zenith was a benevolent leader he had immense power and was able to control space and time itself, he wanted to guide races to become civilized and advanced. In order to do so, he had to banish evil and savage races to another world. So with the powers bestowed upon him he created, Okarin. The world of Okarin exists in a pocket dimension outside our reality. It cannot be seen or entered by our world unless given the power to. This world is seven times bigger than earth and orbits two suns and has two moons. Okarin is filled with wonders and environments able to house many different kinds of creatures. Once Zenith disappeared galaxies blossomed with life, traces of civilizations started to form, even in Okarin itself. Okarin has not been opened ever since Zenith’s disappearance and has remained closed for thousands of years, until now.
Act I
Chapter 1
Emory is on his knees with blood on his hands; holding a lifeless body impaled by a sword. He stares shocked, unable to process what he has done. It has been over thirty-minutes and Emory still hasn’t moved. It’s as if the world can drift away and end at this very moment and he wouldn’t care. There’s absolutely nothing he could do and deeply wishes he could change so many things that happened. How everything would be so much better if he had done just a few things differently or maybe if just one or two things didn’t happen to him. It would be so much better for everyone else's lives. He recollects his memory tracing every point that led him here, about how his rather ordinary and mundane life brought him here.
“Ughhhh, just two more pages and I’m done," Emory says exhaustingly while rustling his papers together. It’s late at night and Emory is up working on a five-page English assignment that’s due tomorrow. Even though he constantly procrastinates, he is top of his class at a prestigious university. Tired and bored from typing his essay he yawns and leans back in his chair stretching his arms out.
He sighs, “I need a break,” he says.
He looks at his watch 1:19 hmm maybe I can go to the vending machine and get a quick snack, he thinks. He quickly puts on his flip-flops, steps out of his dorm, and goes to the vending machine.
Emory heads down the path to the cafeteria building where the vending machine is at. The night is quiet with lit up street lamps placed throughout the campus giving a pleasant and peaceful, yet ominous feeling. Emory distracts himself by looking at his phone and sees the text exchange between him and Elizabeth. I still can’t believe I actually got a date with the cutest girl in class, Emory thought with a smile, at least I think it is a date. All of a sudden, in the serene ambiance, he hears a whooshing sound like wings flapping but something big. He stops and looks around but sees nothing, just still buildings and quiet street lamps. He quickly gives up and gives a slight shrug and keeps walking; convincing himself he’s just hearing things. He thought, It’s probably just a machine or something. After all, this is a renowned university there must be some technology they have that I’m not aware of, he gets back to his phone and his thoughts about Elizabeth.
He gets to the vending machine outside the cafeteria building and gets his favorite snack, Chex doodles. He gets his snack and immediately looks back, he feels as if someone or something is watching him. He can’t shake this feeling, he grabs his snack and quickly walks back to his dorm.
On his way back he hears the whooshing noise again, but this time louder and closer. His eyes open up when he realizes it’s right behind him! He turns his head and sees a strange dark figure with huge wings coming towards him. He instantly starts to run away, but it’s futile the strange figure quickly catches up to him and flings him to the ground forward. Emory’s white shirt is ripped and his back is bleeding from the attack.
The dark strange figure lands in front of him. With his phone and his Pex Mix all over the ground, he looks up while face front to the ground and sees two feet. They look like they have some type armor on but they don’t look like any type of metal. He tries to get up but is quickly kicked back down on the stomach. Emory is now on his side now clinging his stomach, he hears wings fluttering and slightly opens his eyes to see the outline of a cape behind the strange figure. He looks up and sees this tall and terrifying man with a wine red scale-like armor similar to a knight; he has an intricate red colored sword on his right hand, his sharp red reptilian eyes glowing through his armor like a flashlight staring at you in a dark lonely cave.
Emory with a petrified look gives out a screech and turns around to run away in the opposite direction, but the armored man reappears out of nowhere in front of him. Emory bumps into him and stumbles back. Before Emory can do anything the armored man grabs Emory by his neck and lifts him up. Emory is raised at eye level with this goliath and he sees his piercing gaze go right through him. His red eyes seem to glow brighter and they seem to emit flakes of fire. Emory’s vision tunnels and seems to blur with a blue aura around the edges. Emory is hypnotized by these powerful eyes and does not realize that his own eyes have changed color from hazel brown to a radiant light blue with a reptile shaped iris.
The red knight hears a noise coming behind him he breaks the gaze and throws Emory to the side. Two curved blades come towards the red knight out of nowhere. He quickly raises his sword and blocks the incoming attack.
Another strange knight comes from the sky and stands to face the red knight. Emory now on his back feeling weary and completely drained of any energy struggles to keep his head up to see what’s going on. The two daggers that attacked the red knight go back to her like magnets.
The other knight has a similar armor to the red knight, but this one is silver with a midnight blue color around the edges and eyes shimmering with the same blue color. This knight is much more slender and appears to be more agile; it has two slim blue capes coming from its shoulder with a silver outline.
Emory with all his effort tries to keep his head up. The silver knight stands against the red knight with two long curved daggers in hand. They’re saying something, are they speaking with each other? Whatever they’re saying Emory can’t understand them or what language they’re speaking. It sounds completely foreign and not from this world.
Emory closes his eyes and is finally giving in to the fatigue he feels himself drifting away. When a thunderous noise all of sudden brings him back but only slightly. Swords clash and the air moves ferociously. The only thing he is capable of doing is opening only one eye. He sees flashes of colors and hears powerful roars, windows breaking, and the ground cracking. Emory feels completely helpless. He knows he should run away somewhere safe, but his body just won’t move. His heart would normally be racing and he would be terrified but right now he lets the world around him fade as roars and sword strikes turn into echoes and light turns to dark.
Once the fight is over the one left standing is the crimson knight, he looks at Emory and walks up to him. He puts his sword on Emory’s chest and chants something from its strange language. Small dwindling wisps of light begin to forms in a spiral, surrounding the knight and Emory. As the red knight continues to chant the light becomes stronger and brighter. It soon begins to take a multitude of colors shooting all the way to the sky. The air around them flows strongly from the power of the light. The light becomes so intense and bright that it starts to engulf them and they can’t be seen from the outside.
The silver knight strains to get up, it kneels on one knee and looks up to the immense light. Its eyes shine brighter and a blue aura surrounds them as its two shoulder capes turn to great blue and silver wings. The knight propels itself forward with its wings and charges towards the spiraling light. The silver knight goes through the light and tackles the red knight. When they collide they’re both knocked up and the sheer power of the light flings them around.
They have no control while in the air and as soon as they touch the sides of the spiral they are buried by the light and disappear. When the red knight disappears the spiral light closes in a flash as if it was never there. In the process of its closing, it took Emory with it and now there’s nothing but silence. The wind stops flowing and the only thing left is a phone with an open bag of Chex doodles on the floor surrounded by shards of glass.

Devil Like Me (Part XI)
Tumblr media
(A/N Wow. I am so sorry for my absence, things have been a bit hectic lately but thank you all for your kind words and patience, I also have some exciting news, I am still focusing on DLM don't worry but I’m also going to be writing some blurbs and imagines whilst I write the next chapter. Requests will be open but I have a few in mind first! I also have another series in my head, It’s not like DLM and I hope it will make more sense as I write the first part. I'm sorry this is a short chapter, I just wanted to delve more into their relationship before things get more interesting again! Much Love xoxox)
Then
"That wasn't so bad was it?"
You tilt to face Jasmine, watching her eyes follow the road as you trawl further away from the town in the distance. You shake your head, eyes blurry from the sun.
After your kiss with Klaus, you returned to the party. You tried your best to appear calm, but your brain was dizzy with euphoria. Ren offered you a small smile as you clambered in from the cold, his eyes quickly darting back to the conversation lingering around him. You settled into a corner, warming your hands on a can of lukewarm beer as you tried to make sense of what had happened.
The rest of the weekend followed similarly, Ren mostly avoided you, but he was still civil and kind whenever you were around - something you were grateful for. You tried your best to get involved in the group's activity, engaging in games of beer pong and poker, it wasn't until the night turned dark and the moon shone through the bay windows that you realised the severity of your situation. Midway through a game of drunken truth or dare you brushed a hand against your swollen lips and couldn't stop the grin spreading across your face.
Holy shit. You had kissed Klaus.
You couldn't control the heat rising to your cheeks, and a knot swelling in the pit of your stomach. Jasmine caught your eye momentarily, quirking a brow but you waved her off, motioning to your beaker of fruity alcohol with a grin.
Even now, as the car thumped along the road, you glanced at your best friend. Watching the ringlets of her hair jolt with every movement, and her green eyes tracing the path ahead you felt awful not being able to tell her the truth. You told each other everything, you had never kept a secret from her, endless sleepovers and whispered giggles meant that she knew you better than you knew yourself. But you couldn't tell her this.
You loved her endlessly, and you didn't want her involved in whatever madness you were getting yourself into, you were far too protective to see her get hurt because of your lust. You were also embarrassed, how could you explain your feelings for this man after what he had done? Insecurity and doubt niggled at your thoughts, and you desperately tried to push them away.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"I'm not staring at you," You defend, rolling your eyes, "I'm staring at that giant love bite on your neck."
"Shit." One of Jasmine's hands rose to the purple bruise on her throat, glancing desperately between you and the road. "How bad is it?"
"Can I please be there when your dad gets home?"
"Shut up!" She laughs, as you throw your head back, "Its OK. I'll just cover it with concealer and if he asks I'll just say I got hit by a tennis ball or fell down the stairs or something."
You chuckle, rubbing your thumb across the blue mark as she winced dramatically, "Yeah - I'm sure your dad will believe you fell right onto your neck."
You both fall back into a comfortable silence as you drive forward, you begin to take in the sights as the car trails the familiar route back to normality.
"Home sweet home." Jasmine murmurs as you pass the rustic city sign welcoming you back. The car bumps over a pothole and jolts forward making you both laugh. You cross the border back into town and immediately settle when you see the distinctive sights of your hometown. You sigh and lean back, despite everything you were glad to be back to your usual routine, hopefully, it would bring back some structure as you tried to figure out your next moves with Klaus.
Little did you know that the second you passed back into the little town, sights and sounds enveloping you back into normality, your life would change forever.
Now
You rest with your head in your hands as you try to come to terms with what Bonnie had just told you. You felt heat rising in your throat, Damon was planning on waking Mikael. You couldn't control the anger bubbling inside you, you understood better than most that Klaus was unruly and violent at the best of times, but he had no idea what he was getting into awaking that kind of evil.
Klaus was not a weak man. He had spent centuries building an empire and protecting those he cared about most. He had killed in cold blood, torn beating hearts straight from chests and mutilated and murdered thousands so that he would always remain King.
The only time you had ever seen him vulnerable was when he spoke about his father. Bile rose to the back of your throat as you thought that, father was not a word ever to be associated with that man, father implied someone who cared and loved for his child, Mikael was none of those things. The first time he ever told you about him, he spoke quietly, his voice resembling a child as he said all the atrocities his 'father' committed.
That was the night you realised you were in deep, tracing the tattoos adorning his skin as you listened as he described the horrors he endured at the hands of this man. You couldn't believe he was entrusting you with his deepest secrets and fears and your heart began to swell at his exposure.
That was the night, as you both opened up to one another, a dopey kind of sensation engulfed you. You realised as you sank into those starry blue eyes, if he asked you to follow him to the end of the earth, you would without hesitation.
You attempt to pull yourself together and rise to your feet, thinking back to your previous conversation with Bonnie. She told you through rushed uneasy words that Damon was enlisting the help of another witch to help him awake Mikael after she had aptly refused. You were beyond grateful that she trusted you enough to tell you this, but you knew it came with a price. In exchange for help against Damon, you would have to stop Klaus' plan against Elena.
A voice disrupts you from your thoughts, and you trail cautiously down the staircase, taking refuge on the top step. You peer through the gaps in the railing, watching as a few figures file into the drawing room.
You watch as Klaus settles into a chair, running a hand through his messy hair. He waves a hand to dismiss a few of his minions, they eagerly comply and shuffle away, but one brave soul stays.
"Klaus," The timid voice begins, "Maybe it'll work next time, I mean - "
"Fuck off."
The young boy blushes crimson and slinks away as Klaus downs a glass of whisky. Something must have happened; his brows are furrowed, small creases at the top of his forehead mirroring his pursed lips.
You gently pace down the staircase, surprised that he hasn't noticed your presence, too busy sulking in his head.
"Not interrupting am I?"
His head snaps up, a small smirk twitching at the edge of his lips as his eyes trace your face momentarily. He gestures to the seat opposite him, and you slide in, clearing your throat as the room descends back into silence.
"It's late."
"No rest for the wicked love."
You fight the urge to roll your eyes as he traces the rim of his glass, watching you intently. It makes you feel hot and embarrassed, and you try your best to not squirm under his gaze.
"I need a drink."
He quirks a brow, following you as you make your way to the row of bottles adorning a table and you grimace as you trace your fingertips over the containers of thick, creamy, alcohol.
"Sorry we don't have anything sweeter," He comments from the background, and you chuckle sarcastically, reaching for a bottle of bourbon and cautiously filling a glass. You sigh as you settle into a chair, taking a swig and wincing as it burns the back of your throat. Klaus snorts, and you exhale, thinking of the best way to approach him.
"What were you talking about?"
He glances at you, sitting back in his chair as if trying to work out your angle.
"Nothing that concerns you." He quips, taking a sip of his drink.
"Well considering what happened the other day, I think we both know it does."
You notice his jaw momentarily clench as you remind him of the kidnapping, but he falters immediately and returns to his casual stance. His ease frustrates you, and the slight high of the alcohol encourages you to speak up.
"I know it has something to do with Elena - and the moonstone."
He nods and shrugs, unimpressed with your attempt.
"You want to break the curse? Why?" He stays silent, and you sigh, "Klaus." You prompt, trying to encourage him to open up, but it just falls on deaf ears.
You shake your head and fall backwards in defeat, but one word is bubbling in your brain. "Hybrids." You say quietly, watching as he nonchalantly takes a swig of his bitter drink. You immediately know you're right, your mind flits back to something Klaus had mentioned, something about him being able to sire a whole new subspecies.
"Jesus." You mutter, rubbing a palm over your forehead. "So that's why that girl is involved? All so you can create some more minions?" You know your tone is bitter, but you can't help it, a mix of emotions and the strength of the alcohol is clouding your judgement.
"Don't act so surprised love, you know better than anyone who you're dealing with."
"I don't care about her, " You say honestly, not able to stop the words from flowing from your pursed lips. "I care about you. What if something bad happens?"
He pauses, his eyes are searching your face briefly, you can see something swimming in the pools of his eyes, but he blinks it away before you can put your finger on it.
"It won't." He says simply, his tone softer than before, it offers some familiar comfort, but only momentarily.
"Klaus I know you think you're invincible -"
"I am." He chuckles, giving you a pointed look.
Your heart clenches in your ribs, your entire body aches at the fact that you know Damon is attempting to awaken Mikael. Fury is flowing through your veins, you cannot let it happen. You won't.
"So what's the plan then? How can I help?"
"Plan? You think I'd let you get involved in this?"
"Yes. We used to be a good team."
He scoffs and glances at you incredulously, "You're bloody delusional."
"That's rather rich coming from you."
The room falls silent again. It's strange being in this situation, neither of you dares to mention the kiss you shared and both of you are too full of pride to admit your feelings, but you'll be damned if you'll let Klaus go through this alone.
You rise to your feet and stride towards the fireplace, you wring your hands together as you hear him spin around to face you.
"I mean it, Klaus." Your voice is quiet as he paces towards you cautiously, you keep your eyes on the rosary beads dangling from his neck, hoping they'll be enough to distract you from spilling everything. "Please be careful."
He nods, accepting your plea. He's still wary though; there are so many unspoken words between you desperate to fill the gaps. You take a chance, inhaling the thick air as you dare to make your eyes meet his. "I don't think you should hurt her - Elena. She seems innocent Klaus; it's not worth it."
He scoffs immediately, recoiling from your sight. "Innocent? Hardly."
"Klaus," You begin, taking a careful step towards him, evening your tone. "Whatever they've done, it's not worth it." You repeat, " Klaus, please."
He stands taller, making himself the most noticeable thing in the room, you can tell he's frustrated, you could always read him like a book. "I should take my time with each of them, rip the heads off their shoulders and bathe in their blood. That would be a treat compared to what they deserve after that stunt they pulled with you."
You shake your head and turn to him, "No. You don't get to hurt them because of me. They made a mistake, that was it."
"Don't be so bloody naive." He spits, you can see the veins bursting beneath the pale surface of his skin. His eyes are full of fire, and it makes you stand your ground further. "Damon would kill you in an instant; he doesn't give a fuck about anyone but Elena. Don't you get that?"
"I do. But I'm asking you to stop. Jesus Christ! Will you listen to me for once?" You try to level yourself as you run a sweaty palm through your hairline, letting out an exasperated snarl at your current argument. "When did we get like this Klaus? What happened to us?"
He falters, his eyes are murky as they meet yours. He's struggling to control his breathing, his hands clasped tight around his glass, any harder and it'll snap into shards around you. You direct your attention to the painting adorning the wall, it's of a thunderstorm, dark and dominating, engulfing everything in its path. A specific memory springs to mind.
"Remember that time when we thought it would be a good idea to drive to Niagra Falls?" You pause, gauging for his reaction, he stays rigid so you continue. "We got about halfway there until we got stuck in that giant storm, the car practically came off the road. And we tried to stop somewhere, but all the roads where closed, so we had to sprint through the rain until we came across that crappy motel? The one with the stained carpet? I'm still convinced that was blood."
"It was your idea." He speaks slowly, not looking at you, you tilt your head and he continues. "To go to Niagra, I wanted to take you to Rome, but you were so bloody stubborn."
You snort, "At least I'm not the one who was convinced he could challenge the weather, even the almighty Klaus has to admit defeat to a natural disaster." You tease.
You both smile at the memory, the air changing between you both. You swallow your pride and decide to tell him the truth, you can't keep hiding behind a mask.
"I hope one day you can forgive me for leaving. It.." You struggle with the words, chewing them in your mouth, willing yourself to not burst into tears. "It wasn't fair. I was scared, and, I'm sorry."
You blink up at him, scuffing your shoes against the ash covered fireplace. He's not facing you, his eyes are trained elsewhere and you nod inwardly, biting back the hot tears desperate to spill. It might take time, but you can wait, you always will, for him.
"Goodnight Klaus." You mutter, placing down your drink and treading towards the door, eager to crawl back into the comfort of your bed.
"I will always forgive you." Its quiet, but it makes you stop immediately, you turn to face him, but he's still looking elsewhere.
"I wanted to hurt you. When you left, I wanted to get revenge. Make you feel the way I did."
You swallow the lump in your throat. "Do you still want that?"
"No." It's simple and quick, and he leaves as soon as the words slip from his lips. You stay still, following his silhouette trailing through the hallway until it disappears behind a closed door, leaving you gasping for breath.

Tales of Anearth: Fate and Fight
You know what? I’m just gonna go for it and post my WIP novel as I’m working on it for funsies. If you wanna read it go for it(and maybe tell me if you liked it?) If not, keep on scrolling.
Darkness consumes the world.  That chill that dances along your skin. The one that sinks into your flesh, making its way down your spine until you’ve become numb to all except the bite of the monster. The world felt this chill as it was consumed by the void of death. Power-mad druids bring the dead to life once more. No one direction. No one target. Every town was empty. Burned, broken and abandoned with not even a ghost haunting them. Every soul had two options; flee the wake of destruction or be unwilling drafted into the ever-growing army of the undead. To overturn whole capitals. To swallow the world.
In a never-ending nightmare survivors swarm the coast. One stronghold to shelter the trembling hands of humanity. Even though it was in the middle of Sunnas there were no sun rays or warm breezes to be found here, only grey skies and fog shroud this harbor town. Waves crash violently against the shore. Rain splatters down onto the city; stirring up the mucky roads and leaving its people to slosh in the filth. Death cannot be avoided even inside these walls. Unmarked graves and burial pits are overflowing. Sickness grips itself to any living thing it can find. So the rain is the least of their troubles, so they simply let the droplets fall down their faces and soak their bodies.
Peasant parents attempt to give their children some shelter from the growing storm while the higher born have already found safe haven indoors. Warm, dry and well-fed, even at the end of the world money can still fix some things. It doesn’t surprise her but her blood only boils slightly. The rain rolls off her hooded, black leather cloak as she cuts her way through the crowds. The cloak which  is covering her tall, black finely laced knee-high boots in mud. It saves her pants however, so she was grateful. She always knew wearing pants that were two-toned, one leg a much lighter brown than the other, would be subject to more cleaning but this was at the bottom of her list.
Her hardened admiral blue eyes look up at the inn sign rocking gently in the breeze; the hinges groaning and dribbling with rainwater. Upon entering, she moves from the way of other patrons. Crowded and noisy, she scans the dimly lit bar. Although it was loud, there was no celebration. Weeping, arguing, and drunken slurs mixes together in languages from all over to form one song of desperation. Weaving by tables and around drunks, she squints.
She finally spots what she is looking for. A small, delicate hand covered in intricate swirled light blue tattoos waving to her. A very short Elven woman softly smiled to her. As she sits down, she is greeted with “Pippa! What took you so long? We were worried you had gotten lost”.
Pippa throws her hood down, some of her short wavy jet-black hair sticking to her wet face. Giving her a smile, Pippa sits at the table with the rest of the group. Illuminated by candlelight certainly makes them look a bit more menacing but that isn’t the case.
Straight across from Pippa is A’ommi. The small Woodland Elf has dark-bronze skin that reminds Pippa of melted chocolate, the way it makes her stomach all warm. Brushing her well-muscled frame all the way down to her calves was lovely strands of straight copper hair, that if she were to stand in the sunlight it would light up like a mane of unchecked fire. A’ommi’s round, striking golden eyes look to Pippa with a small sense of humor. If she had heard A’ommi’s joke Pippa’s small smile would have become a steady grin but instead her eyes continue strolling down her body.
Even with the rain and muck A’ommi never wears anything other than simple deer leathers. Not shoes, not a cloak, or even a hair tie to hold all her hair back. They’re poor quality and very worn, the edges starting to break away but they get the job done as they cover the parts to keep her decent but leave enough showing to show off her trails of tattoos consisting of moons and stars. A sharp jab in Pippa’s side grounded her back in reality. “Ah! Denali, watch the nails please” she reminds with a short, distracted chuckle.
With an amused smile and excited carnelian-colored eyes, the silver-hued devil girl titters “I’m sorry, you just weren’t paying attention”.
She has such a sweet voice, so happy and confident. With a thin face, tight-pursed lips and deep purple ram horns on either side of her head the playful girl was easily the most distinguishable girl of the group. Most people just called them called them Durgians, devil-folk, servants of the god Undullos, or any manner of hateful slur but those with open minds just knew they were people with horns and tails. Denali was no exception. She was just a kid after all, only twenty-two.
A kid with a kind heart and cheeky, sharp tongue. Denali always dresses herself in clothes to match her personality. An elegantly made deep ocean blue, knee length dark blue skirt and white top with a sweetheart cut and puffy sleevelets. Tilting her head she slowly starts to braid her lavender colored hair, smiling all the while.
While Denali was taller than Pippa and towered over her mother by a whole two feet she was only the third tallest out of them all. “I wish it wasn’t raining” Denali whines, looking out the nearby window.
“But what would little devil do? It’s much too crowded to play!” Mogar rebuttals, pulling Denali onto his lap.
A...half-man, of few and choppy words. Pippa chuckles very softly under her breath. All heart and muscle; lots of muscles. From the waist down, Mogar’s legs are human. The sight of the upper half of Mogar however makes everyone flee, well almost everyone.
Half-man, half-bull. With a thick neck and broad, wide shoulders Mogar was covered in short, coarse black fur from snout to hips. His well-built chest is littered with jagged battle scars from the years. His long cow ears are comparably soft to the rest of his body, and perhaps the tip of snout right before his wet nose. It makes Pippa smile whenever she sees Denali running her hands over Mogar’s head, all the way to the top of his tall, thick, dark sandy colored oxen horns.
The two enjoy one another's affections greatly. The sheen in his fiery, ember golden eyes make many wonder if a demon of Hell was upon them but never her. Two of the same; like a fire, burning steady and true with unbridled excitement. One feeding the other with bravery and curiosity. Never far apart from the other, they do everything together. A romance only found in stories.
Pippa rolls her eyes before catching A’ommi’s wide-eyed stare. They are fixated on the opposite wall. Turning her head she sees out the rain splattered windows people running and shouting. Several people point towards the shore.
“What the..”. Before they can even get to their feet, the bar door slams open.
A wet, filthy human man with a scruffy face shouts to the curious patron. “There’s a ship! It’s huge and she’s making port!” he shouts before running back out.
“A ship?” Denali echoes.
“We should go check it out” A’ommi states, already out of her seat.
Nodding, the rest of them follow her lead. Soon as she stepped outside, Pippa notices the sky; still cloudy but the rain had ceased. Surrounding the docks, the mass of survivors clamor in hopeful excitement. They part like waves seeing Mogar heading towards them, making it easy for Pippa and them to reach the dock end. A normally tense walk in town felt strangely calm as icy stares fixated on the ship rather then the elf walking with them. Yet another thing to be grateful for.
Pippa’s mouth falls softly open. Fog rolls off the side of the massive ship. Ten thousand dark wood planks create the elegant curves of this tall ship. Masts as tall as castles held white sails embroidered with an unknown yellow sigil are puffed full of wind. The water meets her bows with the dignity of a queen. Creating her own waves, waves that presented them with a new path.
A man wrapped in an emerald colored cloak stands at the end of the boarding ramp. Tousled wisps of black hair fall out from his cloak's hood. The shaded face of a man can be seen from under it. He lifts his head, letting his hood fall to his shoulders. While his body was well toned and muscular his apricot skinned face was skinny with his cheekbones almost making him seem like a skeleton. Almond-shaped, pale green eyes scan the crowd. From them radiates intensity but also an honest kindness. His lips curl upward.
“Citizens! I am Soren SwordBreaker” he declares, his voice booming over them. Pippa takes a step back at this sudden voice.
“I come from the island of Kelradan! Where I have been sent by King Belleran to provide the survivors of the mainland safe passage to the city of Erantel!”. Soren looks out to the confused, murmuring people.
“You’re safe now” he tells them. Although his smile seems reassuring, Pippa is filled with unease.

The Magician
The Magician : a muggle guide to tarot
     - Through the dark of futures past, the magician longs to see. One chants out between two worlds … Fire Walk with Me.                David Lynch’s Twin Peaks
I realize it’s hard to convince you of my view that tarot doesn’t have anything to do with magic per se, when the title of the card we are discussing is ‘the magician’. But it is perhaps the most worldly, practical, unmagical card in the entire deck, so bear with me. Today we’ll be talking philosophy and raw action. The magician caries the numbered one. So take out your magician card, or your favorite magician card if you have more than one. The magician is a card for which I feel a profound affection; I identify deeply with it (along with two others: the chariot and the king of swords). You could almost say that in this early stage of the tarot’s journey I have halted and stopped at the first step and there is some truth in that.
Symbolism
Tumblr media
We see a figure with one arm pointing upwards, sometimes holding a staff or a wand and one pointing downwards. This represents the ancient phrase “as above, so below”. The idea of a macrocosm and a corresponding microcosm is an old one. We know the ancient Greeks philosophized a lot about this and the idea has spread across big parts of the world ever since. Plato believed in the existence of a perfect world of ideas, next to our world of imperfection. Christianity believes in a temporary existence here on earth and an eternal existence close to god.
On a more mundane scale we can see the outer world of everyday life and our inner world of hopes, dreams, ideas and fantasies. And in each one there is something that bridges these two. I have always found it intriguing that moons revolve around planets and planets around suns in a colossal void, very much like electrons revolve around the nucleus of an atom, also mostly in void. In short, it symbolizes that the stuff that makes up the universe can be found inside ourselves.  Between the above and the below is the magician, us, at the center of all this. It is a profoundly anthropocentric card; we are, each one of us, the god of our own universe.
Did I just call you a god? Yes, I did.
In front of the magician is an altar with four objects: a sword, a wand, a cup and a pentacle (or coin). These four objects represent the four elements, the stuff the universe is made of, in a symbolic way. The altar and the four objects represent everything, the world (the macrocosm) but right in front of us, small and tangible, symbolized (the microcosm). They are there for the taking. In certain decks the magician is called the juggler, the capable artist that keeps all four elements in the air at the same time. The altar is a miniature world under the control of the magician.
Another crucial symbol is the infinity symbol above the head of the magician, symbolizing the unity of male and female principles. In my post-gender worldview, I don’t like male and female stereotyping, but the tarot is rife with it, luckily in a very nuanced manner. Tarot isn’t inherently patriarchal if that’s what you are wondering. The magician, like the fool, is an androgynous figure, uniting male and female principles. To be an able person, one does indeed need a mix of both, lest we are hollow, ridiculous clichés. The infinity symbol lives on in the character “&” often used on marriage invitations when a couple puts an ampersand between their names, indeed a union of two.
Tumblr media
Is there no end to this symbolism? Jesus. We’re almost there; I know it’s a lot; it’s not an easy card concerning its symbolism but I’ll make it up to you later, because its meaning is real simple, I promise. In the Renaissance Tarot we recognize the symbols we talked about (the up and down arms, the altar with the four elements is a plinth here, and we see the infinity symbol). The figure is very androgynous, one leg is straight and muscular, one is almost that of an elegant ballerina. There is a hint of breasts and that hair is long and yet short.
Some extra symbols are added like the two caduceui (still used by pharmacists as their symbol) but also by the alchemists of old. The two intertwined snakes represent – can you guess it? – the intertwined male and female energies. Between the snake heads is the symbol of the planet Mercury, a blend of (surprise) the male and female symbol. The wings on the arm and feet (like the ancient god Mercury) refer to his ability to ascend and descend in the world above and below.  I’ll shut up about the magician’s belt which represents the ouroboros, you can google that one if you’re really into the ouroboros. I am seriously done with its fucking endless symbolism.
Tumblr media
In the wild unknown card we recognize a few things: the four elements and the infinity symbol but the magician has been replaced by a wildcat. Which brings us seamlessly to its meaning (finally). A lot of cards in tarot are about contemplation but this one is all about action. A wildcat runs and runs fast, it runs gracefully, it is made for running. This card says only one thing: go!
Upright meaning
     - Knowing is not enough; We must apply. Willing is not enough; We must do.                Goethe
Just as the magician manipulates the four objects on the altar in front of him (remember, representing the microcosm), so can we manipulate the world around us. The magician is able, he knows his shit, he doesn’t sit idly by, he acts and transforms A into B, he makes changes as he sees fit, he shapes the world around him to his liking. He is whole, male and female combined, confident in his abilities.
If this card represents a situation it tells us to believe in ourselves and act. Do it! Go for it! Stop doubting, stop thinking and just fucking do it already.
Tumblr media
If it refers to a person, it is someone confident, someone with abilities that bring about change in the real world in any possible way. Someone who knows his trade always seems like a wizard to an uneducated outsider. The things my IT-guy does to my computer look like magic to me; how my pharmacist prepares medicine that heals me looks like magic, how poets juggle and play with words, is magical to me.
The magician is always someone who believes in themselves and has real skill and influence, not some cog in a machine but maybe an independent employee or anyone with a specific skill set. Or simply someone who works a little practical magic for you. See what I did there?  If you know yourself well, it helps to know the world; if you can change, so can the world. In contrast with the fool, the magician knows really well what he wants, he has a plan and he’s already working on it. The magician is deeply androgynous, he knows when to use his male and when her female side to best reach the goal.

> The Magician by Stephanie Davidson
Reversed meaning
When reversed it can mean one of three things:
1. Exactly the opposite: inactivity. Someone is sitting on their lazy ass. Maybe thinking, dreaming, fantasizing or calculating risks, weighing options, whatever it is, now is not the time! Just get up and start working. Yes work, you will get tired. Stop talking, stop complaining. Work.
2. Something blocks you: you lack the confidence of the magician, you don’t believe in your own abilities. Maybe you compare yourself to people who do it better. But honestly with seven billion people out there, someone is bound to be better at no matter what you do. Maybe you believe you are worth jack shit. In any case: you are wrong. You are able. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
3. Taken too far: the magician holds the meaning of the charlatan, the imposter, the foul smell that drips from the word manipulating. This is someone who abuses his abilities in a way too selfish and harmful to others. He is a deceiver and quite good at it as well.
The path of the magician
When you meditate on the magician, or if the magician represents you in a spread, it asks us to act. It is Yoda telling us to do or do not because there really is no try. It is Galadriel telling Frodo that this task was appointed to him and that if he does not find a way, no one will.
Tumblr media
It is Obama yelling at us ‘yes we can’ or Karl Marx telling us that the point is not to think about society, the point is to change it. Few cards are so straightforward. Just like last time, a little meditation exercise to let you grow, to step by step define who you are. Note down three skills that you possess that influence the outside world, grand or modest, doesn’t matter. They don’t have to be unique or super-snowflake-special. Skill is skill. Three things you are good at.
Next jot down three things you want to learn in the future. Like, before you die, preferably.
Again, I’ll be open and honest; not out of some misguided exhibitionism but because as your guide I want to give the example.
1. I am a decent enough librarian. I help my readers find the information they need, I teach them a skill set so they can find It themselves and analyze it’s worth in a critical way. I run a smooth library.
2. I am verbally strong if I want to. I can communicate, inspire, analyze and I have a certain way with words. I write and guide roleplaying games as storyteller, which brings joy and excitement to people. I also use this for evil purposes. I have been known to bend truths.
3. Strategy, long-term planning, making plan B, C and D (and in secret E, F and G). Destroying resistance, guiding the process, improving along the way, optimizing, motivating and cheering at the end.
Three things I want to learn before I die: to dance, speak German fluently, and sew clothes.
TLDR: Upright meaning: confidence, action, skill Reversed meaning: passivity, lack of confidence, manipulation

Helloo,, can I have a tarot reading on my future connection with my future husband please? Anything that comes up. I’m curious on what the energy will be like between us. My initials are C.M (Libra sun). My favorite animal is a cat. 🐱🤍 My favorite song is September by Earth, Wind & Fire ✨. Thank you so much for your time and energy.
*Very long post ahead*
Hi CM!😄💜
That’s such a great song, thank you for sharing!✨
Okay, let’s try this again!💪🏿 You know what’s strange, I started this reading yesterday after catching a second wind of energy and I pulled two interesting cards- the Devil and the Hermit- but the Hermit card actually got lodged in between a tight space... that felt off- I had a strong picture of a person in my head through Johnny Depp’s character in the movie Crybaby haha and was writing and then my dad called and I got booted off of Tumblr before I could finish, erasing everything I had- so strange!😮😭
So, this could just be a coincidence or Spirit telling me to rest for the day😂... but I wanted to say something just in case- if you are in a current connection with anyone and feeling stifled in your personal growth or trapped in a situation/finding yourself- I feel the need to tell you that you are so worthy of a healthy, happy, and wholesome partnership! You have an absolutely beautiful energy and if you hone in on your self-worth and self-compassion you will realize that you have complete power and free will over your life’s choices and happiness!💜
CM, I feel a very pure and soft energy from you, and perhaps you are young- you are sooo sweet- the person in my head yesterday had a much darker energy that I’m not sure would be healthy, like they were more of a “bad boy” opposites attract partner if this is what you may be attracted to in the past or at the moment... I think there is some healing that would help you to connect with someone who is right for you with the best intentions!💜 If you feel comfortable, feedback would be so helpful and if this resonates I have some resources I’d like to share if you are open- you could also DM me!✨ Nothing is set in stone and we are constantly growing and learning!💜 In this reading I’m asking for your husband should you genuinely find and treasure yourself and hone in on your soft and powerful energy! Let’s pull new cards for you!!✨
I pulled The Moon and The King of Wands!✨
This new energy is one that is mysterious, deep, and free from fear or self-doubt!💜 When your future husband sets his sights on you, he will be determined to get to know you on a deeper level- I’m feeling this is someone who may have a good balance of air, fire, and water in their chart!✨
They know when to move and take action logically but they also know when to follow their heart and intuition! I think this is a businessman who may be involved in a very large company- it may be related to humanitarian efforts- I’m seeing someone speaking at a large gathering! I feel they are passionate in everything they do and when they walk into a room, others feel their energy! I think they literally turn heads with their energy and their fervor for everything- if I am picking up correctly on your super sweet- possibly shy energy, I think this may be a bit intimidating because again this person has their sights set on you and I feel your softness gels well with their fiery nature! This person shares some of the same traits as yesterday but they use them in a positive way- for example- anger can be translated to debate and action! I think this is the opposites attract that you deserve and which will help you to grow, learn, heal, and transform!💜
For possible physical traits: I’m seeing someone who is White, lighter colored hair- like a wheat blonde, vibrant eyes- blue, hazel? They’re hard to make out, maybe a mix of colors- like one color and flecks of another!✨ I want to say a medium height but I’m thinking taller than you- they are fit and have a very clean cut image- they most likely were/are involved in a sport like lacrosse, soccer, or swimming at a competitive level: his body moves with power and confidence when he walks- I feel like they may come from a big family with a lot of men as well- a blue designer sweater, khakis, a watch, woodsy cologne smell ,and comfortable but fashionable shoes is what I’m getting! They have a serious face as well haha and may naturally look angry- but they’re most likely just lost in thought! I feel they definitely have a dry sense of humor as well!😂That was a really strong image!✨
Again, the energy here is very harmonious and I feel like I’m getting some of the same energy from yesterday but very healthy now- you compliment each other and while you may help them calm down and find comfort in silence, calmness, and rest- they definitely feel lighter, softer, and safe with you! I’m thinking they have to maintain an image of power at work but when they come home, they’ll find solace in your energy and feel they can be themselves completely! They will light the fire within you and encourage you to go after what you deserve and want- also, similar to yesterday they will be very protective over you but not possessive! 👏🏿 I think protection is definitely something you are seeking in a partner!
He respects that you are your own person and just wants to make sure you are safe! I randomly heard angel in my head- I think he may call you that or view you in that way- like a beautiful, delicate flower and you will see him as the passionately focused and dedicated love of your life! Beautiful!💜✨
I hope this resonates and thank you for letting me read for you CM!😄 If you’d like to connect, please feel free to send me a message or DM!💜 Sending you and your loved ones so much love and light!💜💜💜

🌼Good morning everyone and a happy Tuesday to you all! I had a lot of people ask me about my Outertale on Discord. That beat out pretty much all the other options on the poll so here we go! This is one of the larger ones because I had a lot of fun putting some of my favorite sci-fi concepts into this. I am a huge SG1 fan so you can definitely see that reflected. I admittedly am the fantasy genre girl so any ideas are welcome! I just liked the idea that the monsters in this were more than just typical monsters. DO NOT REPOST MY WORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IT IS NOT FOR YOUR USE. IF YOU LIKE MY WORK PLEASE REBLOG INSTEAD! It helps me so much! It makes such a difference.💙If you want more of these just let me know! It’s the only way I can gauge interest! Outertale Alternate “Nicknames” Info: Sans: Nova- Nova is the trickster though he is mostly associated with that of Loki. I mean he is wearing star shorts for star’s sake. Then I lost ma job. Got a second chance though. Andromeda’s constantly watchin me. hehe no harm done though.” Both Pollux and Nova refer to each other as brothers but it is unclear if they are biologically related. Their abilities and strengths are nearly opposite and their mythos even more so. Papyrus: Pollux- The presumed older brother of Nova. Pollux is associated with Egyptology specifically wisdom. Pollux tends to be the opposite of Nova in that he takes his job very seriously. Once on earth, he was known as Thoth gracing humanity with a mechanical and architectural knowledge that astounded the world. His mind and intellect put him at the forefront of innovation making him one of Capricorn’s best and most trusted advisors. He enjoys testing the mental prowess of others using puzzles and riddles of his own design. Unlike canon Pap, Pollux cares more about balance in life. Something his younger brother seems to lack. Not all work and not all play. He is kind, helpful, and willing to give advice to anyone that is looking for it. To the little human Frisk, he is a good mentor and teacher. (Pollux has made it his pastime to create a series of challenges to prove a humans worth. If they pass then they are able to speak/ see them. No one has managed to prove themselves.) Undyne: Andromeda- Andromeda is not different from canon Undyne as she embodies the Mayan mythology. She is most closely associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcóatl. A deity of wind and rain. Also known as life-giver. Her favorite kind of anime to watch are mech-based. Alphys: Elara- Very similar to canon Alphys just as this version of Undyne is. Alphys is based on Sukuna-Biko-Na (少名毘古那) or the Shinto god of medicine and rain. Ambisagrus, a god of thunder and lightning, Ancestor God, Sky God, God of Wind, Rain & Hail is what he is based on. One such role is that of Zeus whose main symbol is that of lightning and thunder. Just like UT Asgore, he is kind and benevolent, however, he has a temper if you make him angry enough. In addition to the stars, she is also known for being a loving mother and caregiver. In her time on earth, she used to watch over and protect children and their families. Aurora though previously jealous of her simple in the universe has come to accept and embrace it. She is kind but rather overprotective. Anyone that forsakes life will feel her wrath. Muffet: Umbra- Umbra is associated with Hindu mythology as a goddess of wealth and prosperity. Though earthly riches do not concern Umbra she still has a taste for the fine silks and gold that she once had on earth. A little about the goddess that she represents: Lakshmi’s name comes from the Sanskrit word laksya, meaning an aim or goal. She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Unlike UT Muffet, Umbra also focuses on spiritual wealth. Peace of mind. She is ever the optimist even when things do not turn out to go her way. In times of need, she is called those in the struggles of self-worth trying to bring them into a different understanding. There have been many a time when Umbra calms Capricorns quick and rash judgments, much to Aurora’s displeasure. Just as with the rest of the pantheon she is kind and helpful even with her yearning to return to the people she so loved before they were forced to the outskirts of the galaxy. Grillby: Helio- Helio derived from the sun is my OT Grillby. He out of all the characters could care less about either being a deity or an observer. He is known to be at a middle ground. He would rather live his days running a social establishment but during his time on earth, he was known for his magic. Originally he was the right hand of Capricorn being depicted as a war deity for his fiery nature. He was the general of grand armies. His armor is something he hung up long ago but if called into court he will wear it once again. Its design is very reminiscent of Roman centurions. Though depictions of him are curious since his name back then was referred to as Merlin. He was best known for his magic and alchemy and the concoctions he made during a period of time far lacking in imagination. Just like Nova, Helio tended to interfere far too often in the affairs of man though noble in purpose. His associations are nonexistent since he was born after the times of gods. His abilities seem to be mimic based. He is able to learn about abilities and use them at will. It is rare that monsters have children and as such Azi is the little prodigy child even though there are many times he just wants to be a kid. He makes friends with Frisk very quickly and learns a lot from the human visitor. Gaster: 9X (I can’t even)- 9x (can be pronounced NYX or Nine-X) is the Gaster of this universe. He has been locked away for a very long time in a prison aptly named Tartarus. His abilities are space and time-oriented very similar to Nova which makes him difficult to imprison. He, of course, has been in his cell for quite some time and it is unclear if he actually has had a change of heart or using it as a manipulation tactic. The only one he speaks with on occasion is Azi wanting to learn more about this planet they all used to call home. It is information that the others tend to not speak of. His father more so as he is afraid it will instill a yearning in his son. 9X’s genius is on par with his godly abilities such as creating artificial intelligence. Something that is not considered life. He uses Azi as a template for this new program… FLOWEY- F- Friendly L- Life-like O- Operating system W- With E- Earthbound Y- Yearning F.L.O.W.E.Y was created by 9x and Nova with Azi as a template. He is a charismatic AI who was originally created as a helper as well as to teach the Prince about their planet of origin. Unfortunately, Flowey does not have the same reservations about disobeying his father as Azi does. Even going so far as to integrate with key and vital systems in The Capital. Flowey is not evil he just is driven to be the best help he can without regards to any type of consequences. He also feels abandoned by Nova as he was not only his creator but also his closest friend. It was why he was made. To be a companion and friend. He helps Frisk meet and learns more about their existence. He acts like a companion. However, when Frisk becomes friends with Azi Flowey’s AI goes haywire. He begins to feel emotions he is not technically allowed to such as jealousy. This causes him to try and eliminate those threatening him which in this case would be all the monsters. Eventually, Azi attempts to program himself into the interface changing its initial programming. Some of Flowey’s previous versions: Blookie: Nebula Riverperson: Omni Gerson: Quasar The Ursas: Ursa Major/Minor Greater Dog/ Lesser Dog: Canis Major/Minor Character Origin/Mythos: Sans- Norse (Trickster)
Papyrus- Egyptian Undyne- Mayan Alphys- Japanese (shinto) Asgore- Celtic Toriel- Celtic Muffet- Hindu
Grillby- Medieval (Merlin) Asriel- Celtic through lineage Gaster- Greek/Roman Blookie- Western Guard dogs- Constellations (Native American) Riverperson- Greek (Charon) Gerson- Chinese (Divination/ wisdom) Background and Context: A long time ago there lived beings of great power. They could bend space and time with a simple thought and bring life to their creations. These were the gods. Ones of great benevolence but also great and terrifying power. Humanity, a primitive race just starting to understand life itself, became their focus. At first, their interaction was very rare only occasionally appearing to help but as time went on those interactions became more drastic. Their assistance and knowledge were seen as godlike to these humans. They would bring gifts and offerings to their new deities in hopes that they would look favorably upon them. That they would impart their wisdom and magic if they were pleased. In time this became more and more of a tradition. A religion built upon pleasing these deities so that their lives would be far improved but this became a conundrum for the beings. Some remained benevolent and helpful while others become greedy and wrathful. The power began to go to their minds corrupting their souls. These instances were written down in variation by the humans making up grandiose stories of fiery chariots and jealous gods. Thus mythology came into being for humanity. A way to explain the things in which they did not understand. As with each religion and deity, the monsters each became associated with a specific culture or mythos. The monsters began to pull away leaving their presences in name only and occasional help but this was short-lived. The Humans Impressions: When the monsters left the humans to their own devices they worship continued long after. Main Plot Synop: The plot to Outertale is very simple as it is more based around the world than it is the actual plot. Humans, however, tend to turn on their own creating factions within the space colonies. Some more prosperous than others. Frisk’s colony was one such beast being cut off from the other colonies as a drifter. Unfortunately, Frisk’s family was nearly non-existent and being stuck on a space colony was little to be desired. After seeing a streak of fire slamming into the outskirts of the colony. Frisk decides to investigate. They have always been the curious type disobeying orders and questioning everything. The colonies outer and more dangerous regions became their playground finding old pieces of technology. Eventually, they stumble upon a crashed ship. One that It seems too damaged to be used but it’s nothing like they have ever seen before. Everyone else on the colony considers it to be cursed. The strange runic language is confusing but Frisk finds that there is one lone computer onboard that seems to still function. It flickers with a bright yellow light showing an almost pixelated Flower with a =) face on the screen. Over the next few days, Frisk returns to decipher the runes with the help of their new friend which they find out is called Flowey. It is a project that the curious human enjoys and for once it is nice to have a friend. Eventually, the runes are deciphered claiming some sort of teleportation capability.
