I notice how often the fanfic community focuses in on the clothing/makeup relating to the goth subculture, and while there will be a lot of that in this post, I want more people to experience the music. I left a goth song recommendation I think fits each character, from gothic metal to softer new wave. No gatekeeping here.

Trey

Trey is definitely not knowledgeable about the goth scene, he listened to a few songs here and there, and probably had a minor emo phase in middle school

He does however enjoy the slower more melancholic goth songs you play for him, or more sweet/romantic songs

Trey is usually the one keeping law and order in his dorm, so sometimes he likes having calming activities like baking and picnics to get away from it all

Having a goth girlfriend, someone who can really understand his perceivable struggle of mundanity, and bring a spark of excitement to his life is a gift he will always appreciate

He would love body mods, like tattoos, piercings etc

Tattoos especially if they have meanings behind them, he thinks they’re like stories on your skin

I read in floyd’s wiki that he dislikes restraint, so the loudness and brashness of gothic rock would be something he really enjoys

In terms of fashion, Floyd is one of the few boys who would definitely allow you to give him a makeover

Rukiya is an ex-hitwoman who was sent to assassinate Nemuri but Nemuri liked her vibes so much they became besties. Officially Rukiya is "missing" but unofficially she's working for EraserMic as a housekeeper whenever they're away and lives with Nemuri

Rukiya dresses and acts like a maid but this is because she's committed to the Aesthetic™️

Their kitchen is filled with warm colours and tones and is the neatest looking room in the whole house

When Tensei was paralysed and would never walk again [Stain arc] they immediately set about modifying the house to be wheelchair friendly and completely accessible to him because Tensei likes staying over sometimes

Shinsou's room is a mix of naruto merchandise and real life animal skulls and fossils. All ethically found of course [re: he finds dead creatures and cleans them up before taking them home. Some of these dead creatures have leaked into the other rooms and hallways oopsies]

Eri has the brightest room because she loves bright colours and it's very hilariously jarring to go through this House Of Horrors only to open her door and get blasted by unicorn quilt covers, pawprints painted on her walls and a fluffy rug in the shape of a smiling cartoon dog

If Tokoyami's edgy emo ass ever came to this house he would never want to leave

A slight smutty HC now: the first time Hizashi and Shouta had penetrative sex it was in a coffin in an undertaker's store because they were meant to be spying on someone and locked themselves in it to avoid being seen. They were, like, 18 at the time

Their bedroom is a mix of goth and punk aesthetics with splashes of colour. They have one bedside lamp and no other lights save the sun itself and this is because of Hizashi's light sensitivity

The bed is big enough to fit four people if you squish up because Nemuri and Tensei loved doing that. Now Shinsou and Eri sometimes join them in it if they have nightmares

Shinsou fucking loves halloween but he acts super cool and calm about it guys haha ignore all those outfits and decorations he just bought on impulse it's fine

Eri doesn't really get the full point of halloween she just likes dressing up

Because of what she went through with Overhaul, Eri is surprisingly unaffected by horror movies and will gladly watch even the goriest of them with her dad's without issue. Shinsou, however, is terrified of them and will crawl over the back of the sofa to get as far away from the screen as possible

Aizawa doesn't have any private rooms for himself but does do most of his work in the kitchen because it's closest to all the snacks. He's a chronic snacker which is why he drinks jelly pouches all the time [mood]

Hizashi, however, has two private rooms for himself: a studio room for all his recordings and radio related plans and then another soundproofed room where he can just blast loud music and scream or lay on the floor to feel the bass vibrations. Shinsou also uses this room a lot to de-stress. They have screaming sessions together

I said it in another post but I'll put it here again: the first time Eri attends school she ends up getting stalked in secret by Aizawa and Shinsou, full ninja-like, and Hizashi judges them for it right up until they find him disguised as one of the school staff so he can also keep an eye on her. Eri is oblivious to this

A lot of Eri's classmates are convinced her family are in the yakuza because of how scary and intimidating they look. It's the sleep deprivation and long work hours

People think Present Mic is a purely daytime hero but this is false! Mic is called on a lot by the Underground Heroes to sneak into places in various disguises to get information because he's just one of those guys who can fit in anywhere and is a great actor

Shinsou is a terrible actor because he's not good at on-the-spot improv which has led to some very funny situations for him

This family's idea of fun is to terrorise everyone around them for kicks. You're in a deep dark tunnel with no lights? Well guess what they're gonna jumpscare you and/or make spooky noises that echo everywhere just to watch you shit yourself

Eri moves so quickly and quietly people think the UA dorms are haunted by a ghost

Eri's the only person to have ever successfully snuck up on Bakugou and scared the shit out of him in the kitchens. Shinsou was wheezing to death about it for days afterwards

Had to come back in to add one I forgot about: Aizawa is a borderline yandere for his family and that is canon To Me. I will expand on this eventually

Also I enjoy a variety of music genre like heavy metal, goth, emo to classical, jazz and latin or cartoon soundtrack, I mean, why settle for one when you can listen to them all. My idea date tend to be varies, ranging from going to the museum to the cafe or the library. My favorite color is black and gold and my favorite animal is kitten(I secretly enjoy cute things)

Btw these are my hobbies- I am an art enthusiast, that part coming from me majoring in archeology/art history(yeah our university system is not the same as US so moving on-) I like to look and appreciate many types of art, my favorite would be art deco, art nouveau, decopunk and steampunk or sci-fi esque. I also enjoy reading and watching TV or movie about war and fighting because I like to imagine what I would do if I was that era, would I survive? would I be able to overcome the obstacles? Also I learn some self defense and practice how to wield gun in case I need to protect myself.

I enjoy drawing doodle art and reading or watching about history as well, topic such as art, war and weapons(I hope that no one find this weird, since my father likes to collect historical weapon like old pistol or katana, so it seems his interest got to me as well)oh, and also a horror story and fiction as well, my old friend said that I might be obsessed with them bruh. Nasus is at least 9 ft. tall, he absolutely thinks you're adorable and enjoys that there is a BIG size difference. He loves that he can just pick you up and carry you anywhere, consider yourself a chibi at this point.

And like you, he enjoys the company of others, especially if he finds them interesting but once in a while, he prefers the usual peace and quiet time. If he's quite busy, you're welcome to just hang out in his library. He'd give you a peck on the cheek here and there as he walks around the room, looking for a certain book.

Shurima is known for it's golden colors, Nasus certainly thinks that the color would look good on you, especially because of your sense of style and since gold is often associated with celestials as a sign of wealth. modern au red/milo dump while i try to get myself together to answer asks nd work on ATJ:

(tw for alcohol mentions near the end, also this is an EXTREMELY long post, its so long that even after i split it into categorized sections each section could be its own post)

CLOTHING

milo absolutely has no sense of fashion. i feel like this is basically canon - for the styles at the time, he dresses fairly basic, mostly focused on looking put together for his job (definitely dresses aimed more towards how he would like to be treated by his peers, despite his actual position - then again our best example outside of the expedition is when he's about to deliver what he considers the most important presentation of his life, so who knows, maybe he usually dresses like a slob). aside from that his main concern seems like practicality and comfort. his wardrobe is dominated by earth tones - beiges and greens set with white and greys. all of that taken into account, i can see him dressing like this in a more modern era:

basically- a lot of cardigans, usually collared shirts or comfortable turtlenecks (since he does still occupy a research position at the smithsonian, even if only in title), big ol' coats, khakis and chinos and slightly stiff dress pants complete with ironed creases. i can see him wearing similar clothes outside work, just more comfortable - jeans and knitted shirts, henleys, more turtlenecks, and comfy cardigans over short sleeved shirts. i dont really see him wearing a lot of prints, i think he'd veer more towards solid clothes in lighter colors, but maybe he has a few. hes definitely the kind of guy to think of wearing the single graphic tee he owns as "bold and wild".

im very married to the idea of him wearing converse though. i cant explain it. milo in converse keeps me going in this world

hes kind of broke so i think maybe he got the converse secondhand maybe? or a gift of some kind. aside from the converse i can see him wearing a lot of oxfords and maybe wingtips

i want to see him in a hawaiian shirt so bad. i am losing it at this thought. he buttons it all the way up to his neck like someones awkward dad. milo wears a hawaiian shirt to "let loose". he wears it with like, khakis. or knee length jorts AHHHHDJHDSGJHDSJGh

a tie??? does he wear his hawaiian shirt with a tie???? does he think it makes it look cooler?????????? i am sobbing

red is the COMPLETE opposite. in the canon 1914 setting, red is already very rebellious for an AFAB person of their era- theyre openly a suffragette, they frequently refuse to wear skirts even in public and dress in mens clothes even before they were openly nonbinary, despite not being accepted into the male-dominated research fields and colleges they continue to educate themself with or without help, they purposely aim for an "unfeminine" silhouette when they dress, refuse to wear corsets, etc. (spoiler alert- there's a clear reason they get on so well with audrey in ATJ)

theyre also easily mistaken by people that didnt know them prior to their transition for being just a very small/young cis man- even though they canonically have a very soft "traditionally feminine" face

so basically, in any era theyre set into, red is always gonna aim to be ahead of the curve- both in their personal beliefs and practices and in their fashion. theyre also very androgynous in their clothes, although they tend to aim a bit more masculine (thats partially due to the era though, and having been forced into skirts exclusively for their entire life- i think in a modern setting where its more acceptable for AFABs to dress and act in a less hyperfeminine way, theyd be more okay with a fluidity in their gender presentation).

all that taken into account, i can see them dressing like this:

lots of baggy clothes, especially baggy jackets and shirts. they like loose fitting high waisted pants like JNCO jeans, cargo pants, etc but they arent averse to pencil legs. they rarely ever wear skinny jeans or drainpipes though. messy hair is a lifestyle for them- their haircut is definitely home-done

you know how in BICSTLY they used to have really long hair before they cut it? in a modern au i can see them impulsively doing the cut at like 3am and waking milo up at his door cause they screwed it up and he ends up having to help fix it (even though hes literally no better at cutting hair than them. worse even)

definitely have an undercut bob- bob on top, shaven on the bottom layer. they might end up growing their hair into a mullet at some point if they get bored. probably dyes their hair all the time out of boredom and then regrets it later and has to use dye remover.

lots of ripped tights and fishnets, leggings with big loose crop tops, big hoodies, safety pin jewelry and homemade jewelry. maybe some sticknpokes.

all that said, they still know how to dress in a professional situation. since its a modern au theres really nothing holding them back from the education and career they canonically want but cant get in the 1910s, so i imagine they would work at the smithsonian as well, maybe their father helped them get the job? potentially in that case they might be his assistant- after all, he trusts their opinion on artifacts more than anyone else's.

at work you can still very much see the punk/skater/grunge/goth style but its more understated- turtlenecks, high waisted and looser dress pants, lots of black, slightly unbuttoned collared shirts with a loose overcoat and no tie

since i elaborated on milos shoe taste i may as well elaborate on red's: they definitely wear converse as well, probably newer than milo's since their father is fairly wealthy and they can afford it. they also have a doc martens collection. they have a pair of demonias but they never wear them and milo is really the only person to even know they own them, let alone see them in them. they really dont like to wear heels much, but they own a few just to play around with. they have a bad habit of wearing any laced shoes untied, but they never trip over the laces. they also use lace code- their most-worn Docs have purple laces on the right foot and yellow on the left. some of their Docs have (reclaimed) pink laces.

has an extensive pin collection including feminism pins, anti-racism pins, punk-related pins, skater-related pins, and pop culture pins (80s music, modern music, old movies, etc)

MUSIC TASTE

milo's into a lot of older music- stuff from the 50s is his favorite. really into jazz and ballroom style stuff. his favorite band is queen, i think- he likes the old-fashioned sound, the jazz-chamber-ballroom influences, the diversity of their lyrics, and the complexity between the guitar riffs, the basslines, and freddie's vocal runs as well as the vocal harmonies.

sometimes he hums good old fashioned lover boy to red and they two-step in the living room in their pajamas :pleading:

also very into rush. yes, he is a rush guy :pensive:.

also listens to a surprising amount of lo-fi? he really likes stuff that remixes older music with hip hop and lofi elements, like earl grey. nearly exclusively into instrumental stuff but also very into louie zong. he listens to it while he works a lot.

knows a lotttt of foreign artists, especially niche ones. fuckin LOVES casiopea

red's spotify is a goddamn mess. everything from 2000s emo, to classic 70s punk, to post-punk and new wave, to 90s pop, to rap. they cant be easily classified at all

their favorite bands are oingo boingo, prince, queen (they listen to a lot of their harder-rock music, but milo knows theyre into the ballads too. theyll never tell anyone else though), doja cat, lil nas, fall out boy, and billie eilish.

red recites the intro monologue to lets go crazy very seriously to make milo laugh, sometimes. they get very into it with their facial expressions. sometimes it devolves into a full air guitar/keyboard/drum and wild dancing session. milo does not know how to participate in this but he loves watching them have fun with it. sometimes they pull him off the couch to make him dance with them, though

they are a huge sucker for dark pop, vaporwave, retrowave, EDM, hip hop, emo, punk... etc etc. anything that combines any two or more of those genres in an original or interesting way gets their attention right away

there's a lot of sharing between the two of them- even though their music tastes are so different, they like a lot of the others taste, and theyre always up to listen to whatever their partner is playing.

red is a huge softie, and milo has found them more than once listening to or humming something he was playing for them the other day because it reminded them of him

speaking of which- in the 1914 canon, red can play piano. i think that carries over to a modern au, where they could play piano and by extension keyboard. i like to think they experiment with a lot of instruments but i doubt they ever really mastered any others. maybe theyre okay at drums or bass?

they learned to play and sing teo torriatte for milo, as a surprise. when they first performed it for them, they had everything set up for when he got home from work- the lights were dimmed, they had candles lit around the keyboard, they draped stuff in cloth to make it look pretty, they scattered flower petals around. when milo walked in and saw it all, he almost proposed then and there- the only thing that stopped him was that he would kick himself for the rest of his life if he did that without a ring.

HOBBIES/ACTIVITIES

milo is still an avid chess player in this, but i like to think hes in some kind of groupchat or text or discord server for it. he doesnt necessarily consider any of the others in the chat close friends, but he does know them all by name

he tries to get red into chess but they never really get it

he tells them all about the stuff that goes down in the games and they just. do not understand. but they love listening to him get excited about it anyway

red is a skater and a regular at the skate park by the smithsonian

most regulars there know them by name, they can spot a newbie a mile away

they have a sticker of a broken tv with a skull inside of it on the underside of their board, its become recognized as a symbol of them unofficially

since theyre so regular and have been going there a lot longer than most of the other skaters that frequent the place, a lot of what they say is kind of just accepted as the rules

they have a bad habit of lecturing new kids who show up without knee/elbow pads or helmets at the very least. all the other skaters enforce it too. kids dont end up showing up without protective gear very often after their first visit

they brought a first aid kid and left it there and everyone has kept it stocked pretty well without them having to have much input. its kind of just a communal first aid kit

they once drew the broken tv symbol on the inside of a half-pipe and everyone started calling it red's ramp after that

they also started calling the bowl at the center of the park the Soup Bowl and now thats just accepted as the name. some of the newer kids genuinely thought that it was called that by the park and were shocked when they found out it was just a random nickname red gave it one day

theyve brought milo a few times but hes extremely awkward on his feet and could never really get his balance on a skateboard, and quite frankly red is afraid of what might happen if he tried even a low ramp, so he usually just sits at the rim of the bowl while red skates around

everyone knew he was their boyfriend before they even met him. a few of the regulars called him by name right away. one of them was certain red had brought him before.

aside from skateboarding, red is pretty good on rollerskates/blades

they tried to take milo to a roller rink once but it was a disaster and they ended up going home, changing into pajamas, ordering chinese food, and marathoning movies till they fell asleep on the couch together. so not a total loss

theyre both very into movies. red is deep into horror and milo likes indie/art movies and just Cannot handle horror at all, but they both agree on old movies, from the 80s and 90s to like the 30s.

red has shown milo some of the classic horror movies and the niche old ones (from like the 40s) since theyre not difficult to stomach

every so often when red brings up wanting to see a horror movie milo is like "aw babe we can watch that tonight i promise it wont be bad" and he genuinely thinks he can handle it this time

red ends up holding him every time and talking him to sleep, but it thankfully never causes like a major panic attack or anything like that

they love going to museums together, of all kinds. they love art museums. they also go to aquariums and aviaries

sometimes they like to go to other history museums and criticise the veracity or accuracy of exhibits/translations, all in good fun of course. theyre never actually being mean about it

they both used to work at starbucks, when they were younger and before they worked at the smithsonian. they worked at separate stores 2 blocks from each other.

milo cant stand soda or carbonated drinks, red can and will chug a java monster in order to survive a long workday if they must. milo is constantly concerned for their health and wellbeing

they r both lightweights when it comes to drinking. they can split a six pack and both be falling-over drunk by the end of the night.

given the changes in beauty standards people DEFINITELY think milo is more attractive than they would in 1914. cmon. hes a lil twinky nerd. you think people wont eat that up?

i like to think red and milo are selected to go on an academic visit to atl/antis (to learn about the culture, with permission of the king), and audrey ends up as the mechanic on the ship during the visit and theyre like (spiderman pointing meme) at each other

red and audrey have so many inside jokes that they basically speak a different language. milo gets some of the terms from context and pop culture (they use "so very" in real life- as in "wow, that shirt is so very.") but he is hopeless to learn all of it

one of their inside jokes is any variation of "milo hot girl summer" and they REFUSE to explain it to him no matter how much he begs

milo wears that iconique tank top on the ship and they say it literally any time he bends over, picks anything up, reaches for anything, moves, BREATHES. he is bewildered and at this point concerned

(in truth, the joke came from red taking a really blurry picture of him in a short sleeve shirt where he looked pretty cute and captioned it "milo's having a hot girl summer rn" and they just could not stop repeating it once audrey met him IRL)

they have a minecraft world. i do like to believe that every so often vinny finds a way in- theyre never sure how- and griefs the shit out of them by blowing up EVERY. monument.

Part 2 of Headcannons No One Asked For:

Crutchie:

Punk aesthetic. He’s got the torn jean jacket, piercings, painted nails, and everything.

He’s still the sweetest boy you will ever meet. He is an absolute sweetheart and would never hurt a fly. Sure, he gets picked on for his disability, but he’s not gonna fight anyone. He’s the kind to forgive and forget (mostly. He doesn’t care for the Delanceys).

The only people that actually pick on him are the Delanceys. Everyone else at school thinks he’s pretty chill. He’s not exactly a popular kid, but everyone knows him as the “cute emo kid”. (He’s never bothered to correct anyone.)

He doesn’t like people feeling bad for him or treating him differently just because of his leg.

He’s the shortest one of the shortest in his friend group (him and Spot are the same height). He has black streaks in his hair too.

Him and Katherine are dating. No, I don’t take criticism. They’re cute couple. Since Kath is goth in this AU, they’re a cute punk/goth couple.

So, this boy, he can play guitar. And write songs. So, he writes songs for his girl all the time. That’s how she asked her to prom. He did it in front of everyone, and she said yes.

He also likes to go to Katherine’s house sometimes, and they’ll talk for hours while painting each other’s nails. They also cuddle a lot. And read books together. And listen to music. And watch television. The point is: they’re cute. They’re a soft couple.

Him and Jack have been friends forever because Medda knows Crutchie’s moms. So, you best bet that Crutchie and Jack tell each other everything. Like, Crutchie was the first one to know about Jack’s crush on Davey, and Jack was the first one to know about Crutchie’s crush on Kath. They’re almost like brothers.

His moms are basically Cordelia and Charlotte from Falsettos. They’re both just as nice as Crutchie, so you can tell that he’s their son. He’s also not adopted. The two wanted a kid, they got a donor, and boom, Crutchie came into the world. (He’s never met his dad though, but he could honestly care less.)

Katherine:

She’s got dark clothes but her hair is still the same bright red color she was born with.

Her dad is the principal of the school, so a lot of kids that don’t know her think that’s why she’s ranked #1 in her grade level. That’s not the case though. She’s a hard working that’s always trying to prove herself.

She’s kind of a drifter. She used to hang out with a bunch of different groups of students until she eventually started hanging out with Crutchie, Jack, Race and the others. She met them because she dated Jack for like a month or two in freshman year, but they realized they didn’t like each other that way and stayed friends instead. They’re still really good friends too.

So... In my last post, I said Jack was chubby in this AU. Well, so is Kath. She’s a cute chubby goth girl. It’s my AU, I do as I please.

Anyway, she can be a little insecure about her body at times, but mostly she just doesn’t care. She’s got brains, and that’s what matters to her.

Her and Davey are the mom friends of the group. They have to stop their friends from doing stupid shit. Because of that, they’ve also bonded a lot and become close best friends. They were such close friends that kids at school thought they were dating for a while.

People thought they were a power couple because principal’s daughter and top athlete? Ultimate couple. That’s when Katherine decided “oof. Okay, I gotta tell the guy I actually like that I like him.” So, she did.

Yeah, Katherine was the one to confess her feelings first. She told Crutchie, and Crutchie was like “dzhgshkd. I like you too.” She was also the one to kiss him first.

And her dad... is totally fine with this. He would’ve preferred it to be someone like Davey, it maybe even Jack, sure, but he thinks Crutchie’s fine. With how cute and polite he is, Crutchie won him over pretty easily. He trusts him enough (not a lot but enough) for his daughter to date a guy like Crutchie.

Sarah:

Huge theater nerd!

She’s been in every play the school’s out on, even if she gets minor roles. She started out a a tech kid in her freshman year, but thought “hey, I wanna try acting”. And she’s loved it ever since.

Even though she’s a grade above Davey, she still acts like a child. Singing her favorite show tunes all the time, talking about cartoons, being all over the place... she’s just a little ray of sunshine, honestly.

She doesn’t look a lot like Davey though, so when they say they’re related, people are surprised. She has really long, straight, light brown hair and she’s pretty short while Davey’s...well, the opposite.

Davey’s the better known of the Jacobs siblings, but Sarah’s pretty popular too. She’s pretty outgoing, so people know who she is.

Also, super proud of her little brother but loves to embarrass him. She’ll go to his games and make sure she and Les scream at the top of their lungs, so everyone knows who their brother is. Davey asked them to stop once, and they, of course said no.

She also likes to poke fun at him and Jack when Jack’s at their place. Once, he went over and Davey was in the shower, and in that span of time, Sarah and Les managed to to tell Jack so many stories about Davey when he was little.

She’s been best friends with Darcy since freshman year. Eventually, he asked her out, and she was like “Finally! Of course, I’ll go out with you.” She knew he liked her for a while. She would’ve confessed first but thought it was funny to see him try every time.

Now, these two... these two are a good couple. Darcy is the only person (besides Davey) who can calm Sarah down. Meanwhile, Sarah’s the only one who can help him come out of his shell.

Darcy:

This boi is the stereotypical shy geek. I usually see him as like a nerd or prep student, but in this AU, he’s a geek. Like, anime watching, shy, tech loving geek.

He doesn’t have many friends, besides Sarah and Bill. He keeps to himself most of the time but will talk when necessary. He joined theater but stayed as part of the tech crew. That’s initially how he met Sarah.

His dad’s a teacher at their high school, so he also knows Katherine pretty well. Their dad’s know each other and basically had them hang out when Katherine got to high school.

Since he’s really good at writing, he’s help Kath with a few essays and really got her into writing. He’s also really good with computers, so you bet he’s the one they go to when their laptops are broken or they accidentally download a virus on the school computers.

He’s always wearing a hoodies. His closet is full of them. And y’all ever seen that hentai face hoodie? He has it, never wears it, but he has it. It’s in the back of his closet.

It took him a while to build up enough courage to ask Sarah out. And he was super happy when she said yes. It took him practicing it on Bill twice until Bill was like “Bro, you’re ready”.

He’s actually gained a lot of confidence since then. With that, he’s always felt oddly out of place with Sarah’s friends but that doesn’t stop him from joking around with them. And that... that has gotten him into detention a few times, so he tries to be careful around Jack and Race.

Also, side note, he helps out a lot with the school paper because his dad is president of the newspaper club they have at school. Katherine is also part of the club, so they geek out over that kind of stuff.

- I'd say so. I mean I'm not bleeding or anything, which is always nice, just kinda floating in the "Comfortably Numb" emotional area, to use a song title xD

2) what's something you wish you could tell your younger self

- don't wear that jacket with the holes in it to school, unless you wanna get called tramp for 3 years. Trust me, you dont.

- Your happiness is more important than the comfort of those around you. Be loud, weird, happy. Just a crazy motherfucker.

- when your mum asks you if her (ex now, luckily) boyfriend touched you, say yes. Don't lie for him.

3) if you could share one song with someone to for them to understand you, what would it be?

- that's a tricky one.. probably faggot by MSI? I dont actually relate to the song much, but everyone kinda knows exactly what kind of person I am if they listen to it. Gay, emo, with just a terrible sense of humour!

- urr. Bad Girls by M.I.A, probably. I like SOME music on the radio.

- a pair of knock off Dr Martin's I got from Wish, they intentionally look really worn, which I like, and I put glittery purple shoelaces in them, I think they're really cool

- Yes! Alot actually, a poster of The Cure, a big Twenty one pilots banner from That Phase(tm) alot of printed pics of album covers, people I like, and aesthetic stuff, but my favourites are the stuff my mum has painted, she's a crazy talented artist.

No I don't. I bite my nails so much theres not really much there to put polish on! If I did wear nail polish I would probably go with black, silver or dark blue

- yes! My 11th birthday, i went paintballing, saw a movie and smashed an old car with my friends. Good times.

Cherry Brandy is an ART MOM, even if they’re not a mom and even if they’re not related to you- if you call them ‘mom’ they will respond. Folk art, goes to craft shows and sells painted chairs. Buys way more art than they sell. Too many necklaces and rings, many layers of clothes. Stylish yet comfy. Coffee Break is Farmer’s Market Dad, despite being no one’s father and also bearing no relation to you. If there is a space in their home that has room for a bookshelf, there is a bookshelf there and by golly- there are books. The occasional cigar. It’s uncertain whether they were in the Navy, but the stories they tell certainly would imply it. Blazers and loafers.

Jade- Is all about the chill. Listens to vaporwave and trance music. Has been to at least one silent disco and would definitely go back if they could remember where it was. Manages to both never sleep and also sleep all the time. Can never find them when you need them. Sonrisa- Calls you ‘sweet pea’ and means it. Lemonade, jean shorts, and a toolbox. Knows how to carry a tune and give your truck a tune-up. Sneaks out at night even though they don’t have a curfew, no one knows where they go. Pink Mondial- is going to have the fairytale wedding that they imagined when they were six, despite not having a significant other yet. Still waiting for 'the one.’ Attempted online dating at one point but got a little freaked out by it. Prefers cake over ice cream. Tara- The party don’t start til they walk in! A real night-owl. Nina- Shy. A popular person, but they have no idea why. Everyone wants them to become a model or actor but they get stage fright too easily and aren’t likely to change that about themselves. Prefers numbers to people, but can be coerced out to social places provided it isn’t too loud there. Carpe Diem- Just let them be a mermaid. It’s all they want. They wanted to be a marine biologist because they thought it meant they could swim with dolphins but it turns out you have to memorize a bunch of names. Hair goes down to their butt and proud of it. Flower crowns. Seashells in their jewelry. Saw Aquaman four times in theaters.

Iguana is a Crafter with a capital C. If there’s a Pinterest tutorial on it, they’ve tried to make it at least once (to the result of many failures.) Their business model is ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained.’ There is glitter. Everywhere. Their house is a mess and there’s nothing that can stop it from getting bigger. Fabric hoarder. Tends to say things like 'I’ll use it in /something/.’ Brighton used to play the flute in high school, but the competitive nature of music school has burned them out on instruments that aren’t fun. Now plays the ukelele on Youtube. Sundresses, short hair, winged eyeliner. Attempted unicycle. Has had many, many different jobs. None of them stuck. Emotional support extrovert. Ocean Song is The Sad Friend. Gets their hopes up easy and just as easily gets their feelings hurt. Tycoon is TOTALLY RAD and knows all the best spots for surfing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Drinks like four Monsters a day, but won’t touch alcohol after that one night they played Thumper and got too messed up over it and they swear they’re clean now. Misses Ska. Tiffany has a really, really, really strong urge to find a spot on the beach, set up an umbrella and blanket, and spend the rest of their life reading trashy romance novels there. Has at least one piece of art that says ‘live laugh love’ and it’s probably in their living room. Breakfast consists of coffee and biscotti.

Shogun is a hopeless romantic that handwrites all their letters. She loves wine a little too much, and sings ‘Total Eclipse if the Heart’ at karaoke. Brave is a woman working her way to the top of the corporate ladder and specifically asks for every Wednesday off- not because she has a prior engagement on that day but just to make herself seem like a desireable candidate by appearing to have other commitments. She spends this day at a Mexican restaurant eating bottomless tortilla chips and salsa. Amnesia has a finely-curated Instagram with a penchant for beautifully ugly things, such as graffiti or rusting structures. They carry a camera with them everywhere and think of themselves as an observer of humanity rather than a participant. Tabasco has driven the entire length of the US twice and would do it again in a heartbeat if someone told them there was a burger joint they just had to try. Unironically idolizes Guy Fieri.

Why I chose my url: Oh boy, I made this blog when I was probably 16. Autumn was my favorite season and I adore cats. I didn’t use this blog at first because I already had one I was active on and had a lot of friends/mutuals. When I was like 18, this guy I was dating at the would go on that blog and have a huge freakout over nearly everything on it (you posted a selfie and responded to someone that complimented you with a heart??? ARE YOU CHEATING????, etc), so I moved here. I feel kinda bad, I had like 10 messages from different people saying “this blog has zero posts and I want this url can i pls have :(”

Following: 631 LOL. Most people aren’t even active anymore so I should probably go through and clear that out...

What I am wearing: I don’t have work today so I’m still what I slept in - soft Mickey Mouse print boxer shorts and the shirt I wore yesterday lol

Dream job: I don’t really know what I want to do!! Something that makes me happy and doesn’t suck the life out of me, which idk is possible. The idea of working for the rest of my life really depresses me. I am very interested in a ton of things but am not talented at any of them (music, art, film directing or editing, computer programming/coding, writing/editing) so I’m hoping to take some classes at my community college and see if there’s something I’m able to pick up. As a kid I wanted to be an actress (I had no anxiety until I was like 12, it was wild - I was a theater kid haha), then all through middle and high school I wanted to be in a band or be an author/editor, and when I was like 18 I wanted to be an English teacher for quite a while but I’ve realized I’m too shy and definitely not assertive enough.

Dream trip: Japan and all over Europe. Also Australia/New Zealand!!

Fave food: Oof this is hard... I honestly just love food in general. Sometimes it’s burgers and fries, sometimes Chinese food, sometimes Pad Thai, sometimes sushi, sometimes pizza, sometimes pasta... Food is delicious, lol. Right now I’d say probably burgers and fries?

Play any instrument: I took piano lessons for a few years as a kid but hated practicing bc there was pressure from my parents and eventually quit. I wanted to learn how to play the drums but my parents said it was “too loud” so I played trumpet for 4 years in the middle school band and jazz band (because trumpet is SUCH a quiet instrument, lol). I self taught myself guitar in 8th grade and was in a band that never got off the ground, but I haven’t touched guitar since I was probably 16 and really wanna get back into it. I’d love to learn play bass guitar and drums!! Also, fun fact... I was SUPER obsessed with harps as a kid and really wanted to learn how to play one until I was like, 11.

Play(ed) any sport: Aside from being a theater/band kid, I was also v sporty since my dad really wanted boys, hahaha. I played soccer, volleyball, and basketball! I played soccer the longest but I ended up being better at basketball than anything else... but I loved volleyball the most, lmfao. I made some “tryout only” teams for all three sports, which was cool, but any and all sportiness died when I was like 13 or so because Depression Says No and honestly my heart wasn’t in it anymore, it started out as a fun activity but after I was about 10 or 11 I was just doing it because my parents wanted me to and I was really miserable. It was a blessing when they let me quit.

Hair color: Blondeish?? I think?? It’s kinda strawberry blonde in some light.

Languages spoken: English, and three years of classes worth of Japanese. I love languages but it’s super, SUPER hard for my brain to learn them. I want to get back into Japanese, though, because it came pretty easily and was a lot of fun! I tried to learn Spanish for a while since I was living in Argentina, but I was horrible at it and kept adding in Japanese on accident because apparently my brain could only handle two languages and not three, lol.

Random fact: Hmm...  I was incapable of rolling my R’s until new years eve this year.. I was v drunk and apparently was just sitting at the table going rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... after months of trying to learn how to do it and not even knowing the proper technique I was just rolling my R without even trying/knowing I was doing it. I’ve been able to since that day, lmfao.

Describe yourself with an aesthetic: Oh boy I don’t even know how to do this??And it depends on my mood??? My brain can’t decide who I am or what my aesthetic is, sometimes it’s crazy cat lady with a huge library in her house, sometimes it’s girl at the county fair with a flowy dress and sunflowers in her hair, sometimes (often) it’s “hi I no longer have black hair anymore but I still feel emo/goth in my soul™, sometimes it’s some bullshit 90s vaporwave stuff, sometimes it’s just “haha i’m here for the memes”, sometimes it’s telescopes and observatories and stars and astronomy, sometimes it’s cutesy pastel... idk what my aesthetic is.

this is a dumb question, but what exactly is the "point" of the characters (particularly the Heathers, i'm assuming) that the new TV show is fucking up with their redesigns. i just wanna make sure i understand the issues here.

Ok the Heather’s are suppose to be the “popular girls”. They are the people who have the characteristics of what society considers to be beauty and they mock anyone who doesn’t met those standards.

Being skinny and making fun of people who aren’t. Caring more about their status standing than their grades, making fun of people for being geeks or nerd. Mocking people for not meeting what is considered the norm in society, aka being along the LGBT spectrum. (I mean damn JD and Veronica staged Ram and Kurt’s deaths as them dying because they where gay. And expecting them to be the mockery of the school. So making fun of people for being gay and the like.) Wearing clothes that are considered in at the time and that highlight their gender. Aka anything the Heathers wear which was all considered in at the time and stylish.

Heck the colors where a power symbol recognized by them. The queen of the school wore red. Both Chandler and Duke established this in the movie.

And then the first promo pics lacks the signature colors and shows them in weird clothes that would have gotten them weird looks and mocked at my school. The first promo pic is suppose to be thought over carefully. This is the first real image people are getting of your product. This is the hook that should help spark a person’s interest in your product. Get them thinking and hopefully interested in what you are making. And if the first image alone is already putting off a good portion of the fandom. Then you know you have an issue.

They only care (especially Chandler) about holding their social status. Veronica herself has said that she’s using her High IQ to pick out lip gloss and trying to figure out how many kegers she can hit before curfew.

Chandler gets pissed at Veronica for not holding up to the standard she expected for her at the party. (Sleeping with a guy she just met). Chandler certainty would never let herself be fat because it would go against her standards.

They are suppose to be a symbol of what society considers beautiful. And yes they are doing a modern version. But what sparks JD’s hatred for them. Is that he observes them (the Heathers, Kurt and Ram) mocking people for being different. He has seen this all before. Every school he goes to he sees it again and again. A never ending chain of bullying. He watched the Heathers make a mockery of Martha in the cafeteria. Making fun of the fat kid. (Now the show has a SKINNY Martha.) He watches Ram and Kurt chase down those nerdy boys and says stuff like “you piece of shit fag” and trying to get the kid to say “I like to suck big dicks”. Being gay wasn’t a good or popular thing. It lead to you getting bullied.

And yeah times now are a bit more accepting. But I went to a big school. I knew a lot of the LGBT kids because I was friends with a lot of them. I ran in circles that had a lot of them. (Anime Club, Art and Theater related things, Even Band.) I knew the spots where you could go after school and find a group of kids and a majority of them would fall into the LGBT spectrum. None of them where along the popular side at my school. Knowing my school they never would be.

By having the Heathers fall into the very groups they are suppose to mock. It goes against their characters. You can’t have an openly gender-fluid person or Lesbian mock other LGBT people. Yes not all LGBT people are nice. I’ve met plenty of assholes who are LGBT. But being LGBT and being the top dog at school and mocking other LGBT people at school. That doesn’t fit. A LGBT person couldn’t come up to me and make fun of me for being a girl who gets crushes on others girls. Because I’d just be like “so what you’re a guy that’s into guys. Or so what so are you. Etc.” It doesn’t have the same sting it does when coming from a non LGBT person.

A well known girl at my school was obese. But if she came up to me and made fun of my weight it wouldn’t work because she was heavier than me. Her insults could be fired right back at her. Now if a person in extremely good shape where to mock my size then that would hurt.

On top of that having all three of the Heathers fall into a minority but none of the other main characters. That also just seems wrong and like they are baiting people for brownie points.

Here are some changes to make the characters more diverse that would have worked.

•Making JD or Martha a race other than Caucasian. My favorite version of JD is Dan’s. Dan isn’t Caucasian. Yes I love Slater and Ryan. But image wise and art wise I love it when people base their JD around Dan. Also making them another race wouldn’t hurt their characters at all.

•Making Martha Bi or Pan. Martha’s crush is apart of the story and how she gets mocked so she still has to be into guys. But that doesn’t mean she couldn’t be Bi or Pan.

•Making JD along the Ace/Aro spectrum. I personally headcanon JD as Demisexual Hetroromantic. JD doesn’t seem like the type of character to honestly be that all into sex. Yes he had sex with Veronica. But I wouldn’t see it as interfering with the point of his character if he only had an interest in people after having a connection. I don’t think JD would just sleep with any girl. That he would have to have a general interest and connection with them. And yes typically Demisexual people (in my experience) need a longer time frame. But part of Heathers… well insane story is that it happens so fast.

•Making Veronica Bi. it wouldn’t mess with her character purpose and could give them that diverse cast they are looking for.

•Not making Martha skinny.

Now I wouldn’t want them to make all three of them minorities. As I feel likeIt might give the baiting feel it has with the Heathers. But if they did like 1 Heather & 2 of the others. Or 2 Heathers and 1 of the others. And making it seem like only minorities are mocked and non-minorities can’t be mocked doesn’t sit right with me. And I feel that’s how it would come off is all the bully’s werent minorities while the bullied kids were. As I know it isn’t true and I’ve watched people who fall into minorities categories make fun of people who don’t.

Idk three just feels like a good number.

And by 1 or two of the Heathers I mean their race. As I don’t think them not being Caucasian in a modern heathers would be much of a problem. In all productions of the musical I have seen at least one of the Heathers. (Usually Duke) isn’t caucasian. So having one of the Heathers a different race wouldn’t be an issue.

Oh and here is an idea. They go to a freaking school. You have cast characters you could use to get that diverse character cast you are looking for without messing with a character’s role. You want an LGBT character, I’ve said this before, but try having a girl have a thing for one of the Heathers. Like they did in the musical. Show her confessing to one of the Heathers. Then show how they treat her. Show them making fun of her or treating her poorly. Show me these asshole Heathers that are suppose to be an example of what is wrong with society. Show me Bi Veronica and them learning she is and Chandler pushing her to hide that side of her. That would be in character.

Show them making fun of a trans kid and that being part of that fuels JD to kill them. Because that would fit.

Show the negative consequences of what the Heathers do. Show how it effects people. When the show ends show Veronica trying to make things better. Show her approaching some of those kids and working with them.

Also for a racially diverse cast try having kids who aren’t just Chinese, Japanese or black. Try having Cuban characters or Native American or Polynesian or Puerto Rican, Indian, etc. Branch out to other races. Because while black and Asian may be two of the other top races after white in America, they aren’t the only ones.

Edit: I would like to add that the reason the LGBT kids of my HS would never be popular wasn’t like due to my high school being really homophobic. (One of the most beloved seniors when I was a sophomore was an open lesbian.) But mostly due to the sheer size of my school. We had between 3,000 and 4,000 students each year. And 6 different lunch periods. (Technical 3 but for the 9th and 10th graders it was 6) It was impossible to fit the whole school in the cafeteria or gym. We didn’t really have popular kids. The closest you would get to it is kids whose names were well known. Like people really active with school related stuff. Like being apart of the student council or on the Cheerleading squad. (I actually knew many of those girls and they were all really nice.) Also having known those kids they weren’t the type of kids to ever be popular due to their personalities. They a lot where into unpopular subjects and/or also feel into the emo/goth categories. So a lot of them wouldn’t have been popular due to that. But even then the popular kids at my school weren’t mean. Most of them where popular because they where really nice and a lot of people just naturally liked them. Sorry just wanted to add that.Edit: At the time I made this every time I heard Martha mentioned people were saying that they were making her skinny, this maybe incorrect but I’m still not 100% sure. It’s still a horrible show regardless though. Just wanted to correct that.

What's your type of gal

I’ll answer this in two way - first the type of girl I’d romance in a dating sim and then what I think my type of guy is. This is not at all a callout at you bc I don’t really post guys here often and neither is being gay in my blog description. Freshman year through sophomore year of high school I claimed to be bi but I was just having a hard time accepting that I wasn’t into women. I love answering questions so I’ll do this one to the best of my ability! (also sorry this took me so long I got carried away talking about myself and my life experiences...)

In dating sims first I’d look for like the goth, emo, punk rock, loner type. That’s bc my ideal me has a sort of goth-lite, emo-lite aesthetic. I don’t show it much other than small accessories like a spiked wristband and my black super skinny jeans, but it’s there and I love meeting people who get that vibe (I also genuinely like music ranging from metal to metalcore and hardcore to post-hardcore). I’m also very much a loner and have a hard time opening up about myself (excepting a few moments on here LOL), so I can identify with people like that. When characters have a deep hurt or a bit of baggage they struggle with I identify a lot with that because I’m still affected by baggage from high school and freshman year of college (my desc is a little outdated rn by about a year and a half...). ESPECIALLY when it involves not fitting in or being weird/a freak, I just relate so hard and those paths make me feel emotional. I also hopefully get to make them happy too!

If no one is goth/emo, then I just look for someone nerdy/geeky, or at least not too connected to the “popular” crowd. This is bc I know what it’s like to geek out over things, and it’d always be fun to play games and stuff with my simulator gf. It’s another way I can relate to the character in the game. I can even relate to cringy fandom stuff bc I used to be superwholock and I’m high-key really into Hatoful Boyfriend and Life is Strange.

This isn’t to say I consider the “popular” girls snobby, bratty characters. I actually LOVE finding out the true personalities behind the shallow, power-hungry, selfish exteriors these characters hide behind (see: Victoria from Life is Strange, Cheryl from Riverdale). Given their rough exteriors, though, I’m more inclined to search out the latter two personalities because I can more immediately relate to them.

As for guys, it happens a lot less fluidly. Some characters/actors I find very attractive are Perceival Graves (Collin Farel or something?), Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Jensen Ackles (but not Dean Winchester anymore bc he’s way too overwhelmingly masculine in his behavior). I low-key want Soldier 76 to be my sugar daddy, Reyes/Reaper is my assassin boyfriend, and McCree is my cowboy boyfriend. I also think Robert from Dream Daddy is very attractive. Idk what “types” I have from this list

 I don’t get IRL crushes very often (I’ve had 3 from eight grade to freshman year of college). The first one was kind of homophobic and ditched me as a friend freshman year - I question past-David’s judgement but I just thought he was really cute at the time. I don’t know what I was thinking oh my God I’m screaming right now thinking that ever happened  (he never knew I was gay or had a crush on him so he just ditched me bc he didn’t really like me which is ok we were fairly incompatible. I HATED him for it though). 

Second guy moved to Florida - he was someone in my grade I hung out with at school a lot sophomore year. He seemed to listen to me at a time I noticed myself go unheard a lot in conversation (people in my grade just didn’t like me at the time except one other guy named Michael. It wasn’t until junior year I found others who liked me in my grade). The bad thing was I also kind of fetishized his sadness. He had family problems at the time - his mom and dad were split and he lived with his mom, and I thought he was someone who understood what it was to feel hurt; I thought I could see the “real” Steven (YIKES YIKES YIKES yeah Steven was his name lol). He moved to Florida bc his parents came back together (yay! Good for him and his mom!), and then he came back to Toledo and didn’t tell me so I hated him for that (he shouldn’t have known about me either but there was this one time I put my hand on his shoulder bc I was a creeper although I’ve read that touching people is one way to strengthen friendships so maybe not).

Third guy came way later freshman year bc while there were guys I kind of could have crushed on I made sure I didn’t. This one is probably circumstantial bc I don’t know why i liked him like that instead of just deeply appreciating his friendship. I burned a lot of bridges after hs graduation and I felt like such a loser. This dude first sits by me in my giant chem lab just like a coincidence like anyone you sit by. We talk and exchange numbers - he’s a freshman like me, we both did it just to make new contacts in a new phase in our lives. Then he somehow pops up right next to me at a football game when I was with my roommate, and then when I wanted to leave early he and his friend went with me. We stopped at the student union and they wanted Panda Express and I wanted Subway, so I thought we were just splitting there and I go eat on my own. Before I’m done he comes to my table bc he and his friend finished and I’m like “Why is this really cool guy going out of his way to sit with weird loser me?” - I think that day I became infatuated with him. Like even when I played Hatoful Boyfriend that year and started fanboying over it he never seemed to be significantly put off by it if even at all like he never seemed to ever think I was weird loser David. I think it was just the first time in more than a year someone made me feel like that and I went a little overboard in the feelings department. All that got fixed though when I became depressed, and I isolated myself from the few people I talked to and that included him so yeah fuck me LOL. I even had a chance to tell him bc something bad happened in my dorm and he found out about it and texted me if I was ok after I hadn’t texted him in forever but I feigned ignorance and was like “yeah I’m ok” (he probably knew I was lying too bc the “something bad” was a suicide). That might have even hurt his feelings too that was insensitive of me to just straight up lie like I was dropping him

Idk if I can ever become infatuated like that again although I’m fairly recovered so I’m more inclined to feel things again. I don’t really know if I can think up some magic type of guy I’d become infatuated with, but the way they treat me when I start being me affects it a lot. I still have issues with thinking I’m weird and if I think someone “gets it” or they’re just a cool person who seems to like it that probaby would still help a lot. But if someone isn’t geeky at all idk where we can connect - even the cool guy #3 (Chris) liked some games and got Fallout 4 when it came out. We took similar classes bc he’s comp eng and I’m comp sci. I read a wide range of genres, watch all sorts of TV, play a super wide variety of games - I’d like to have some common ground in what I like to think is a fairly wide range of interests. But it seems that more fratty or mainstream or just not-nerdy types don’t do any of this and idk what their interests even are (I guess football or sports which is just as good but I can’t relate). I feel like this composes most ppl (at least at my high school it did) but I’m introverted it’s not like I go out of my way to talk to people
