A Helpful Guide for Finding Dedicated Developers in India
The first thing you do after deciding to build software is seek for qualified individuals to help you with this endeavour. You need a staff that comprehends your vision as they will be in charge of all the technical components. Then and only then will they be able to transform it into a useful product.
Finding qualified developers, though, can be difficult for firms to do. You must take the developer’s expertise, experience, and cost-to-quality ratio into account. Fortunately for you, I have put together this blog on locating the best tools and advice for hiring developers in India.
Check it out!
Typical Obstacles to Hiring Devoted In-House Developers
What are some typical issues that businesses run with when trying to locate qualified developers?
Is it a lack of knowledge and experience or financial limitations? Let’s examine some of the most typical difficulties employers have while to hire developer.
1. Budgetary restrictions
Hiring a developer requires you to go through numerous pricey operational cycles. For instance, if you decide to hire an in-house developer, you will have to pay a full-time wage as well as the expenditures associated with infrastructure, work systems, employee benefits, and onboarding.
Your budget may be impacted by this. Additionally, you would need to spend extra time and money hiring a replacement developer if the person decided to leave your company after a month or fifteen days.
It would be more difficult to fund your talent acquisition initiatives if your organisation had financial restrictions.
2. Lack of expertise in hiring talent
It will be difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startupsss will find it difficult for startups They won’t understand how to locate the top applicants or how to set up an effective screening procedure. Furthermore, they won’t have the materials and equipment required to find the right applicants.
3. Long recruiting process
The typical employment cycle for a western nation lasts between 45 and 90 days. Furthermore, the development cycle of your project will lengthen if the hiring procedure is delayed as a result of extraordinary circumstances. The time to market will inevitably increase as a result.
Therefore, it is highly recommended today to hire remote engineers or outsource the project to a remote team. We’ll examine why it will be better for you to hire programmers from India as we go along.
4. Why Should Your Development Project Be Outsourced?
Let’s define outsourcing to help you comprehend it before I list any advantages.
Let’s say you want to create a mobile application development and need skilled app developers to help you. You must upgrade your company and hire specialised developers to achieve it. You can now employ a remote team to complete the project rather than an in-house developer.
The remote crew will operate in the same manner as your in-house developers. To finish the project, they will assist with development and communicate easily with your team.
5. Speedy turnaround
Your development project is contracted out to a team of developers who work solely for you. As a result, your project turns around significantly faster and you may publish your website or app more swiftly.
6. Cost-efficiency
It goes without saying that hire remote developer is less expensive than building an internal team. Infrastructure and operational costs are not your responsibility. Instead, you just pay the developers according to the billable hours they have worked at their hourly rates.
7. Choice for both short-term and long-term projects
For whatever of your project needs, you may easily hire app developer. You can outsource developers in a flexible manner to meet your needs, regardless of the demands of your long-term projects or your immediate development objectives.
8. Worldwide talent is available
If you have trouble finding local developers, outsourcing might provide you access to talent around the world. There may not be enough resources in your region because they are already working on other construction projects. Hiring remote developers might help you right away in such circumstances. Additionally, you will save a lot because hiring would be less expensive.
What are the advantages of hiring Indian developers who work remotely?
If you want to outsource your development job, you can think about hiring an Indian developer. With a talent pool of developers trained in a range of technologies, you may harness various advantages.
Requirements
When writing a job description, break down all of the responsibilities into bullet points. The more specifications you can provide, the better candidates will understand your expectations and their potential responsibilities in the remote team.
It will also give them the opportunity to screen themselves out of applying, saving you time. This is your opportunity to screen candidates. For example, you may require developers to have at least five years of coding experience, or you may require specific certifications.
Competent and knowledgeable developers
About 9.75 million Indian developers are using GitHub as of October 2022. About 2.5 million Indian coders signed up for the cooperation platform in the last year. indicating a 35% rise year over year (YoY).
India has surpassed the United States to become Github’s second-largest community contributor. And according to projections, by 2025, India’s population would be equal to that of the US.
There is no doubt that India has a talented pool of developers that are proficient in a variety of technologies. By utilising the developer’s knowledge, you may create remarkable software solutions when you hire Indian developers.
Strong communication abilities
You won’t have to worry about any communication problems if you hire Indian professionals. Since they are native English speakers, the Indian engineers will make sure you have no trouble getting in touch with them. They will ask for any extra information they might require and are able to comprehend your project’s requirements with ease.
Reduced development fees
The frequency of recruiting developers varies by location. The hourly prices will be higher if you recruit developers from the United States or other western nations. Developer fees, in contrast, are significantly lower in Asian nations like India or the Ukraine.
Interoperability with time zones
The difference in timezones is one of the main issues that business units encounter when outsourcing. It will be difficult to communicate with Indian developers if you choose to work with them if they can’t adjust to your time zone.
To ensure timezone compatibility, the majority of Indian development companies, however, exercise flexibility. As a result, you don’t need to worry about how the team will operate together and achieve deadlines.
Reliable
You can entrust them with your project if you locate a reputable company that employs skilled coders in India. For examples of prior work, look through their portfolio. You may further determine if they are a trustworthy partner for your business by reading the client testimonials and reviews.
Confidentiality
You can protect your project’s secrecy using an NDA (non-disclosure agreement). You might subscribe to a contract of services when you hire Indian programmers from a reputable company to safeguard your rights. Additionally, you will be able to defend important or confidential data from any possible danger.
How to Hire Best Developers in India: Steps to Follow
I. Freelance Indian developers for hire Vs Remote Development Company
You can choose whether to engage an Indian developer freelancing or outsource the project to a distant company based on these considerations.
II. Where can I recruit Indian developers?
You can search on websites like Upwork, Guru, Toptal, Freelancer, etc. to find a freelance developer. Additionally, you can advertise job openings on employment boards like Monster, Dice, and Indeed.
In addition, reputable review websites like Clutch and Good businesses are excellent resources for finding the top software development companies in India. To locate the top developers, you can also rely on referrals or social networking platforms like LinkedIn.
III. How to hire Indian software engineers
These procedures should be sufficient to assist you if you wish to recruit India’s top developers.
Create a compelling job description and specify the project’s parameters.
You must first establish a job description if you want to hire Indian developers. For social media platforms, employment websites, or freelance websites, this copy is crucial. This is how you entice a potential developer to submit an application for the position you’ve listed or submit a bid for your undertaking.
Usually, a job description includes all the details you need to know about the position you are sharing. For instance, the quantity of openings, the required tech stack, the minimum number of years of experience, the educational standards, full- or part-time employment, etc.
Make sure to specify the project’s scope if you are outsourcing it to a software development company. It should contain information such as the project’s kind (app development, website development), your preferred tech stacks, the length of time required for development, the required number of developers, etc.
You can give this document to the businesses you contact for quotes.
Things to take into account while hiring developers
These are the criteria you should take into account while shortlisting development companies, and you should select the best ones to move forward with.
Technical knowledge
You should compile a list of the technical expertise and tech stack knowledge needed based on the project requirements. Based on these technical skills, it will aid in your shortlisting of prospects.
Industry knowledge
Hire developer in India with experience in a related industry so that you can capitalise on their abilities. They will be aware of what is popular and what development challenges they must overcome. As a result, industry experience is preferred.
Testimonials and reviews
Before shortlisting a software development company, look at their reviews and testimonials. You’ll learn a lot about how their team works.
Ease of communication
Check in with the developer or development team to ensure that there are no communication barriers. You should also ensure that their working hours overlap with yours in order to maximise productivity.
Candidates for interviews
After you’ve narrowed down your list of candidates or a development agency, you’ll need to interview them. The interview can be divided into sections to assess one’s technical and behavioural abilities. You can bring in a senior technical resource to test a developer’s technical skills.
Your HR department may be able to assist you in determining whether a candidate is a good fit for your company. It will also assist you in determining whether the developer will be able to communicate with your team members.
Finishing Up
These pointers should assist you in hiring developers in India, whether as a freelancer or through a remote development company. You get to find the most skilled and experienced developers and interview them in order to find the best talent for your project.
Furthermore, using remote developer from India can significantly reduce your development costs. In this regard, you can hire dedicated developers from BiztechCS, a well-known clutch-reviewed development firm. We have experienced in-house developers who are not only skilled in a variety of technologies but also have soft skills.
Connect with the best developers in India to easily create high-quality software solutions.

49. MUSE : for one muse to model for the other’s art project (lunala!!)
a comprehensive list of scenarios | accepting!
Art - specifically paintings and other similar mediums - was something Lunala was always appreciative of, especially Alolan artists. They were always masters at capturing the essence of the region and the people that dwelt there. It was why when Lunala was approached by one of Alola’s well-know artists for the prospect of being a model for her latest project, she was stunned, but eager to participate.
There Lunala sat, letting Mina move her limbs every which way to get that perfect pose in order to seal her vision. It was fun, in the way that a new experience usually was, even if Lunala wasn’t doing anything beyond trying to hold the pose picked out for her.
“I’m a little bit nervous,” she admits. Another feeling that came with new experiences. “Am I allowed to talk to you while you paint? Or would that mess up what you’re trying to do? I know I’ll have to hold still - I just don’t want to impede your focus.”

A/N: For the FashionXV zine! I wanted to have a little fun with Iris and fashion tips for this one. Even at the end of the world, you still need to be stylish. It’s a once in a lifetime event, after all.
Summary: It’s time for Iris’s special, step-by-step guide on how to slay demons and look fabulous while doing so. As a warning, this guide is not Glaive or brother approved, but when have we ever needed permission?
…

…
…
It’s time for Iris’s special, step-by-step guide on how to slay demons and look fabulous while doing so. As a warning, this guide is notGlaive or brother approved, but when have we ever needed permission? No, we’re more than capable of fighting demons on our own. We have to be, honestly.
Now, as a warning, you will need a few things before we get started. The most important thing is access to weapons and combat clothing. I, fortunately, have my brother and his terrible secured cache. It is ridiculous how many swords he fits in there, I honestly think the royal armoury has less gear than he does. Sadly, some of you might not be so lucky as to have an weapons junkie for a brother. If that’s the case, don’t worry about it! You can make do with items in your house, the store, or just contact me and I’ll secretly drop off a few choice items for you.
I want to clear up one thing before we start: I’m not writing this article because Gladdy hates my training with Cors. The world might be ending, but that doesn’t stop him from being himself. I’m not that petty. No, my goal is bigger than that. This is about me giving back to everyone. Maybe it’ll even save a few lives, who knows. Anyways, ready?
Step 1: A flimsy shield is worse than no shield at all
This is perhaps the most important step, even more so than the weapons. What’s going to stand in the way of an eight-inch claw and your flesh? What’s going to look good in blood or in rain? Your outfit. You can’t get much done if you’re bleeding out in a ditch.
It’s important to use strong combat clothing. It doesn’t even have to fit you properly, you can always adjust it in the next step. You want something that is tough enough to protect you from damage, but flexible enough that you can move effortlessly. If the material’s too tough, you’ll dodge slowly, making you an easy target. If it’s too thin, then you’re not really protected from anything.
It might be hard to find this material in regular stores. It’s not really something that people use on a daily basis. In that case, just stop at your nearest Glaive depot and pick (or steal) one there. Or, if you’re like me, take it from your relative. Just make sure to be stealthy!
As a bonus tip, take extras! You never know when your clothes might get utterly destroyed by some Flan’s acid or if you’re terrible at sewing (like I am) and need several tries to get it right. Spares are always useful.
Step 2: Find the you in your clothes
Now, you can skip this step if your clothes already a) fit you and b) look great. But if either of those things are missing, this part is essential. Now, sewing is hard enough as is with normal clothes, and with this type of fabric, it’s almost impossible for a newbie. But don’t fear! Just find a friend who’s good with machines, or maybe call up one of your aunts. If you still have any. There’s always an old lady somewhere with a sewing machine.
Don’t be afraid to cut up your clothes to match your vision. There’s always more where that came from (there’s a reason my brother seems to only have one outfit: that’s all I’ve left him). Keep enough fabric to protect yourself but adjust to rest. After all, who says you can’t look great while slaying a daemon?
Personally, I like leather jackets and featherless gloves. It makes me feel really fearless and strong.
Step 3: Every rose has its thorns
Now, while I said clothes was the most important aspect, that doesn’t mean you should neglect choosing your weapon. After all, while your clothes keep you alive, your weapon is what’ll slay the daemon in the first place. And that’s what we’re all here for, to become daemon slayers.
I would say pick a weapon that matched your abilities and your clothes, but every weapon is black and almost everything my brother owns is black, so they balance out neatly. Make sure your outfit has plenty of pouches for small knives, smoke bombs, and other small weapons. They can mean the difference between life and death.
Step 4: Grand Theft Auto
Well, I call it Grand Theft Auto because for this step, you have to steal a fast car. The run-of-the-mill vehicle you take to the grocery store won’t cut it here. Daemons are fast, and you need to outrun them if you can’t beat them. You need a car that can outrun the wind itself.
I, of course, steal my brother’s car when he’s not looking. As the Crownsguard, he has access to some really nice things. Which mean I have access to them too. It doesn’t hurt to know a mechanic who’s willing to give me his spare keys.
Step 5: Write a will
I know, I know. It sounds dramatic. It kinda is. But you could get hurt fighting daemons and a will is very useful. People know how to divide whatever’s left of your stuff, you can leave goodbye notes, all of those fun but sad reasons.
Step 6: Stare longingly at a loved one’s photo
In my case, it’s a photo of Prince Noctis. King Noctis? He didn’t really have a coronation ceremony, so who knows what his title is. Now, you all know me and my big crush on him, but I promise you that is not the reason I stare longingly at his photo before I go. If I could, I would stare at a photo of my dad. Not my brother, because he gives me an earful every time I come back and I don’t want to hunt while grumpy.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have any pics of my dad anymore. I’d have to dig through rubble in a daemon-infested city to find them, and while I love my dad, that is probably not the best way to show my feelings. Prince Noctis isn’t around either now, but I do have photos from his road trip, and they make a good secondary option.
Anyways, pick your favourite photo, and stare at it longingly. This might be the last time you can see their face and you want to make your peace with it.
Step 7: Slay Daemons
This part is pretty self-explanatory. Don’t try to make your attacks look nice, just kill the monster and be done with it. If you can, set up a camera before hand to take some photos. Or get your brother’s best friend to tag along, under an oath that he will not tell your brother a thing about it.
Step 8: Gloat
Now that you made it home in one piece and with some photographic evidence, it’s time to show-off. You killed a daemon and the world (your brother especially) deserves to know about it. The best way, obviously, is to write an eight-step how-to article and rub it in his face. Now he’ll know better than to ever question you again.

life update - long ramble
readmore
in less than three weeks, i will have finished my postgrad. it’s been a hecking fast course, and very intense at times. like most things im a bit gutted at myself for not trying as hard as i can. but i’ve done mostly okay considering my efforts. a range of grades. i was gutted last term that i got a c in my criminal litigation class just due to my nerves. all my content was perfect, i was just shit scared of public speaking. i bombed conveyancing cos that class was shit. but i did good in my other two and i’ve got good grades this semester so far. but i’ve also missed more classes, and i think i bombed my oral last week, and i’m bound to bomb my oral this week too.
idk how i will adjust to being not-in-education for the first time since i was 5 (3, if you include preschool). tbh, if i dont get a traineeship i may go back in 2021 or 2022 and do a masters. something on the constitution and human rights. maybe i’ll write about labour again.
i’m gonna chill for a month or so, working my 2.5 days at work whilst i still have my student loan rolling in (LOL, i get hardly anything cos i’m a pg and most of it is gone in the repayment of the personal loan i took out to do this course). then, i’ll increase my days to 4. i can live off 4 days, and it means i can still count this job as not being my life whilst i hunt for a traineeship, and failing one that starts pretty soon, another job. i’m fixed term, and i was lucky in i got a promotion, but the promotion was also for a fixed term position.
i hope my contract is extended, i put my face out there a lot at work primarily for that reason. i go on training courses and sit on committees, partly because i get away from my desk but also because it makes me look like i care about my job. i’ll mainly look at the public sector, as i feel like i belong there, i like flexible working and having an interesting caseload. and then law firms, as maybe if i get an admin job at a firm they will take pity on me and recruit me. failing those two, i will look charities/trade unions/politics before resulting to texting someone at my old work and begging for a job back. or maybe i’ll do agency work. fuck idk. i shouldn’t worry about it. i’ll get a job, right?
i do hear back this week regarding a traineeship. i’m not hopeful. i never am. but the interview did go really well. i didn’t stammer, i spoke freely, we spoke a lot about unions and the labour party and i felt like they liked me. they only interviewed 6% of applicants, so i’m lucky to get through and even if i don’t get it i know i’ll be less anxious about interviewing for traineeships again because i know it can go well(ish). if i do get it i’ll be over the moon, it’s not human rights and it’s not public law but they do a lot of union work and pro bono, and that’s good enough for me.
over the years, the way i experience anxiety has changed, dramatically. for a while, i had quite a good support network of ‘safe adults’. like my friends, past and present, and callum, have all been remarkable, but i think being able to relate to adults/people in authority when you’re not quite an adult yourself is good for validation. it didn’t last long and friendships and ‘drama’ started to consume my life. when i finally moved out of retail into an office environment, a lot of my anxiety, especially the physical stuff, shifted. i shit you not, i would physically throw up before many of my shifts in retail. so again, i thought i was coping as things weren’t as bad as they were back then. especially when it came to depression, as i actively removed myself from the main environmental factor causing me to have low moods.
i was dumb, cos of course i still had sadness and anxiety. it was just different, and because i channeled a lot of stress into uni, being new at my job, and being skint, it felt like there was always an excuse it wasnt anything about me,it was xyz and hey fuck look at least im not barthing and crying every morning yeah?
but 2019, whilst being a year of several incredible highs and generally being a good year was full of anxiety and due to me doing such an intense course with lots of orals, i realised, yes, i may not be taking as many panic attacks as i took when i was 18 but i felt as bad, fuck, even worse socially and internally, than i did back then. so i went to the doctors just before the new year, and got put on drugs.
that was a big step, as i always have a fear about the doctors but i have a really good gp surgery, my main doctor is a bit odd but really helpful. one of the other doctors did a whole law degree and the diploma before deciding it wasnt for her and she wanted to go to med school, so shes a really good person to turn to. the reception staff are kind (and you can book appointments online too, which i find really helpful). i think as well, i always viewed my anxiety as mild, and in a way, it is, but in a lot of ways, it is not. medication has certainly helped. i take antidepressants and beta blockers and whilst im not a super happy confident girl, i can cope a lot better. i’m no longer physically anxious (if you know me irl you know i am a shaky bastard) and my brain doesn’t run through the same STRESS as it did. so im grateful. i know meds dont work for everyone and that it takes people years to find something good for them, esp for people with a lot more complex mental health issues than me and my anxiety but i found ones that seem to be working, at least for now.
this year, i’ve tried to look after myself more. i’m saving for a house after opening a help to buy isa last year. i noticed my vision was being a bit blurry from time to time and that my eyes felt really strained when looking at the computer. so i booked an eye appointment and it turns out im short sighted. wearing glasses, as well as fulfilling 12 year old me’s fantasy, has massively helped my general fatigue. i’m gonna book in for physio at my gp, cos i have a dodgy shoulder, and due to general stress, both the dodgy one and the other are in a lot of pain constantly. i try and do a proper skincare routine in the mornings and at night. i’ve always loved skincare but usually just take what i’ve been gifted but i’ve had fun exploring brands and building a collection. i’ve asked for extensions at uni when i’ve needed them, and took time off when appropriate. i’ve been meeting friends more, and not patching messages.
right okay- i’m falling asleep now but this has been a ramble which probably makes no sense but if we are mutuals or whatever i appreciate you and thanks for dealing with my bs.
tldr - finishing uni soon, probs gonna be looking for a job, doing better in life and with my mh.

Haunted house stories please?
HAHA oh man, sure!! This was not something I really expected to be asked after I tag-talked about it lol, but I have plenty to share.
A preface: I was at House of Torment in Austin, Tx for 6 years, until I moved cities, and was a floor manager for 5 of those. What this means is I was in costume every night, but instead of being in a single scene like most actors, I got to run around a huge portion of the haunt. I took care of the actors in my zone, while also checking on/fixing props, dealing with problem customers (MANY of these, but all the managers had radios w/ earpieces & were kept updated constantly by the control room staff monitoring the night vision cameras in almost every room), and scaring everyone else. Being a manager, I had a lot more......leeway in what I could do, namely dangerous stunts and shit that scene actors were not permitted to do for legal reasons.
Worth a mention as well; I have always been an athletic dumbass with a high degree of flexibility and pain tolerance, so let’s start with that as a baseline. This is long, so i’ll just start with one! I may reblog it to add more later though.
CHAINSAW TAG: An upgraded children’s game w/ 120% more terror.
Picture this: It’s 1am, and the building is closed & empty. The actors have gone home, the music is off, and the bright house lights are dark. You are alone, creeping along in the dim glow of the operating lights, using your familiarity with the terrain to keep as silent as you can, while also avoiding stumbling over the uneven floor as you strain your ears to catch any sounds not generated by you.
Over the thud of your own heartbeat, you hear something: careful steps coming up the stairs several rooms behind you; whomever is making them is obviously trying to remain as unnoticed as you are, but doesn’t know enough to skip over the top two steps, which always groaned under pressure.
There’s no way to know who is behind you, and the risk of staying to find out isn’t worth it. There are a few hiding places you know of in your vicinity, and the one that is better than all the rest is also unfortunately the most difficult to get into swiftly AND quietly. You make your choice, and straighten up to begin trying to unlatch the cabinet door that actually contains a small passage onto a metal ledge, hanging 20ft above the floor below, with a large, heavy, hinged grate that actors can push over to scare customers with its deafening crash. The cabinet hinge squeaks loudly if opened too fast, you know, so you pick the slow and stealthy option. This was a mistake; you are TOO slow.
There aren’t quiet steps behind you anymore, because now they are advancing rapidly, with heavy footfalls. The unmistakable sound of a cord being pulled several times, an engine starting, and by the time they burst into the doorway of your room, the chainsaw in their hands is revved and roaring.
Your heartbeat goes haywire, and your mouth goes dry as adrenaline kicks in like a shotgun blast. Silence be damned, you rip the cabinet door open, climb onto the counter, and hurl your body forward through the 2ft entrance as the person, still dripping with the blood they wore that night while out on the lot, terrifying customers to take their minds off the line, lunges for you with a shriek. You ARE fast enough this time, the cabinet door bangs shut and the latch re-engages behind you, but the chainsaw-wielder is just as aware as you are of the tiny ledge, with no exit but the way you came, that you are now perched on. You hear them start to fumble with the latch.
Heartbeat still thundering, you smile. You don’t expect them to know this, but this area happens to be one of your favorite spots in the building for three reasons.
1) It’s a part of your zone, you have spent hundreds of hours patrolling it over the course of the season, and you are very, very comfortable in it.
2) After the grate is pushed over by an actor, and the resulting noise causes the customers beneath to drop to the floor, hands over their ears, screaming like they think the world is ending, they always recover and look up to see what made it. Through the metal mesh of the ledge, they can see the actor that scared them, the grate, and you as well if you’re there that time. Usually one person laughs at the rest of the group, and they make to continue down the hall, content that the monsters are two stories up and cannot reach them.
3) As mentioned before, you are a gigantic dumbass with the impulse control of a particularly acrobatic toddler.
The sets in this building are movie-grade, meant to take abuse from staff and guests alike, and built to facilitate the high-intensity scares your company is known for. This means almost everything is weight-bearing, baby.
The would-be killer gets the cabinet door open just in time to see you roll off the edge of the platform, slowing your decent to the concrete below by pushing off the metal sewage pipes that jut from the wall to enhance the atmosphere. Ricocheting all the way down to the ground floor, instead of rushing forward like you normally would, at the practically incoherent group you just landed a few feet in front of, you race off at full speed down the hallway, while the thwarted maniac calls down that you’re a bag of dicks, and they’re going to go eat the half-sandwich you left in the break room.
This my friend, is Chainsaw Tag!! Only played by management & equivalent level staff, after the haunt was closed for the night, it was a dangerous, no-holds barred, showdown-survival match between a bunch of people trying to ‘survive’ as long as they could, and one with a real chainsaw (minus chain, jesus christ we weren’t trying to actually kill someone) & a desire to give their friends minor heart attacks. Haunted house employees are not known for their strong survival instincts.
People ask me a lot, “Why do you hate horror movies, if you love horror video games and work in a haunted house??” The answer to that is, IT’S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT BALLGAME IF I CAN PERSONALLY INFLUENCE THE OUTCOME OF THE SITUATION. The experience of having, as far as your brain is concerned in the moment, a real person with a chainsaw hunting you down is unlike anything I can possibly think to compare it to; you instinctively go into a genuinely terrified state, it doesn't matter how logically you know that the asshole stalking you with a chainsaw isn’t really going to kill you, you promised to buy him Wendy’s on the way home, the second you start to doubt that the sounds you are hearing are coming from a fellow ‘victim’ your brain is already off and doing its thing. When a chainsaw starts up in the dark, one room away, you run, but most importantly, YOU CAN CHOOSE EVERY DECISION YOU MAKE TO TRY TO KEEP YOURSELF ‘ALIVE’ THAT MATCH, THERE IS NO WAITING AROUND KNOWING THAT WHATEVER HAPPENS TO YOU IS GONNA HAPPEN BECAUSE THAT’S THE WAY THE DIRECTOR SHOT IT.
We didn’t play every night, and sometimes games lasted until the sun rose, before we all trudged off to try to make it through classes/daytime jobs, but MAN was it worth it. I feel like i’ve actually got some honest to goodness experience surviving a slasher movie lol, and as long as I knew the terrain and was lucky, I might actually survive. The building we were in at the time was 40,000 square feet, and most of it was the extremely intricate haunted house, so there were a ton of choices players could make in how they hid, where they hid, if they took a stationary approach or a more active one, the way I did, et cetera.
The building also used to be an old warehouse, complete with steel beams criss-crossing the length of the ceiling, and if you think I didn’t hang like a bat from them, 40 ft above the ground in an open area that didn’t have any false floors, with a flashlight in hand so that as soon as I spotted the person who was ‘It’ I could switch it on and make a godawful Dracula impression at them, you would be thinking wrong.
I have thought before that if I owned/had access to some wooded land, or a building that was built up in a way to make it fun, I would love to run my own game of Chainsaw tag with friends. There really is nothing else that can come close as far as the rush you get when playing it, much less surviving till the end of the round and getting to laugh at the dumb ways your friends ‘died’. Of course people snuck off to make out, and YES they totally did get caught & killed with MUCH more frequency than those of us who knew better, that’s like one of the basic tropes of horror movies, good god.
And yes, the chainsaw wielder DID have to touch you with the chainsaw in order to tag you out, and there were no safe zones (that were respected, anyways).

11 Tips to change your energy today By Karen Litinsky
Some days just feel damned. Our energy is off, our mind doesn’t have any traction, our emotions are out-of-whack and all-around we just feel like we are swimming upstream. And when this happens, the easiest thing to do is write off the day, go with the negative flow and let the current take us down – thinking “tomorrow will be a better day”. But as I’m sure you’ve experienced from time to time during your lifespan – even the baddest of “bad days” have potential to change beat and become something else.
Every emotional state has the ability to turn around (…even without the aid of sleep). No matter how powerful a bad mood seems, mood is always flexible. The Einstein in us knows that energy is always transforming. And we can assist in the process. So here are some natural, unconventional tips that can help you manually start tweaking your energy and brighten up your day!
1. First of all, be open to your day becoming better. The more attached you are to the story that “today sucks” the more that story will prove itself right. So loosen your grip on any doomed beliefs for today and give yourself permission to be pleasantly surprised by how much a day can turn around. No matter how much you have to do today, how little sleep you got last night, or how annoyed you are at your computer… you can still have a good day today. Allowing yourself to consider this possibility will immediately give today another chance.
2. As the stress response that a “bad day” beats into us increases, so does our tunnel vision. Physically and mentally. We hyper-focus on limitation and get stuck in our small mind, our ego mind. So gently free yourself from negative lockdown by making an effort to see more of what’s around you. Widen your peripherals. If your walking, expand your vision beyond the sidewalk to see what else is quietly lurking around you. Notice the trees, the sky, the open space around you. Notice the flowers in your house that are hiding behind your kids mess. Notice the happy conversation that the two women behind you are having as you impatiently wait for your late bus at the bus stop. This quick easy shift unconstricts your mind, softens your perception and unbuckles psychological tension.
3. Give yourself an inner break. Cut ties with those obnoxious coulds and shoulds. Find the sweet spot between thinking about the future and thinking about the past. Yes, you got it. That sweet spot means returning to the present. Even if the present isn’t all that sexy right now. Just engage in where you really are. Find your good'ol loyal breath and take it for a ride. Breathing is always such a fantastic way to join in where life is actually happening. Let your breath anchor you in real-time and give you those mili-second breaks from the rat-race.
4. Do something that you weren’t going to do today because you “didn’t feel like it”. Make your bed, wash your car, return the wrong package you ordered from amazon, reorganize your junk drawer, go for lunch with your old roommate, send out that email you’ve been procrastinating on – whatever. Just do something you were going to avoid today because you weren’t in the mood. This is a simple little manual mood-change. By choosing to do this despite how you feel, automatically adjusts your feelings.
5. Eat one raw superfood. Just one. Unless you want to eat more of course. But at least just one. Grab a raw carrot, order the side salad, or add spinach to your smoothie. Go the extra mile to add wholesome energy into your body. The more colorful the better. This not only changes your alkaline levels – which greatly affects your hormones, but every bite is also a bite into more energy. We really are what we eat. I’ll be posting a free video this spring on an “energy diet”, subscribe if you want to know when it comes out!
6. Interact with living creatures, humans, animals, plants, and any other living creature you can find. Physical energy exchange is a sure way to change up energy. Make eye contact with the Starbucks barista, smile at the small child starring you down as you awkwardly eat your lunch, go to that meet-up group you were humming and hawing over tonight – just get up and out of the house and let the energy of others re-energize you. And FYI virtual interactions hardly count. Until we become more robot than living organism, we need real-life, in the flesh, beyond the screen contact to genuinely transfer energy and significantly boost oxytocin (happy hormone).
7. Decide to quit complaining, conversing with complainers, and thinking of reasons to complain. Instead, rise above the temptations to bitch and focus on something else. What we focus on expands. Don’t look at what you don’t want to grow. This is a point I talk about in depth in my Destruction Cycle book because it is a very crucial element to shift our reality.
Whatever we look directly at becomes magnified for us. So decide not to hang out in the complaint department all day by making the effort to fill your experience with something positive, or at least something neutral:)
Below are few more easy, obvious suggestions:
8. Do a meditation. Gain control of your mind so that you can reset yourself. Once we deliberately channel our attention, the ability to re-channel our energy gets much easier. There are many free meditation apps out there. But if you want a starting point, download the free Ego-Less app, go to Happiness Island, and click on "quiet egoless happiness" meditation. It's a really good simple, short (5:30 mins), and FREE meditation I created for beginners. But really, nearly any meditation will help you gain control over your thoughts and boost your level of consciousness, especially with repetition.
9. Move your body. Light up your systems, take in fresh oxygen, circulate your energy and burn some calories while you’re at it. Get on the treadmill, run up and down the stairs 5 times, pump some iron, park far away from the grocery store and speeeedwalk into the store like your cars going to explode behind you. Find simple methods to be active. Get your heart rate up and sweat out that old stale energy. The more energy you burn, the more new energy can come in.
10. Hydrate the yellow urine out of yourself. The more water you can ingest, the more toxins and energetic waste you will expel. I’m always amazed by how magical water can be. When I think I’m starting to get the afternoon fatigue, I guzzle a glass or two of water, wait 20 mins and forget all about my nap fantasies. It’s such a cool experiment that everyone should try. Just see for yourself!
11. Trick yourself into better energy. Hijack your neural activity by smiling, laughing, listen to upbeat music, softening your eyes, dancing, sighing like you’re incredibly relaxed, watching a funny video - do all the things the happy-you would be doing. I’ll help with this one by creating an uplifting video meditation soon (check in or subscribe on the homepage of this blog if you want to know when I get this up and runnin’). Fake a good mood til you make a good mood. Sure it feels unnatural on a day that seems utterly destined to be unenjoyable, but at least give today a fair shot. You deserve to have a really good day, despite whatever happened. As you slow down, quiet your mind, and initiate an inner cheer-up, you will begin to see just how powerful you really are in your own life.
Now of course, if you are in a full-fledge destruction cycle, these tips will only go so far, especially if you are in what I call “The Pause.” when life basically stops and we are just doing everything we can to survive. Please read my last blog to help you more if this is your case, or get your copy of the Destruction Cycle book, or follow me on Instagram destructioncycles for customized tips/suggestions/resources.
Otherwise, I hope you’ve found these tips helpful and usable! Please share this blog with anyone you think could use an energetic boost today!

There's a clear active ingredient or magic bullet that will make your content marketing successful. But by taking a look at those who have had terrific success, we can begin to see some commonness.

If you were to take the top content online marketers, the ones who dominate lead generation marketing and who are developing an effective brand online, you would see that even though they all most likely carry out differently, they are all careful coordinators. Careful, deliberate, recorded preparation is what gives them a rock-solid edge on which they can build and scale their content marketing method.
All frequently, content online marketers dive headfirst into execution without doing the foundation of developing a strategy. Without direction and a vision for how the content will drive outcomes, online marketers are left with scattershot content-- it may drive traffic, however, it doesn't talk to the audience in a significant way.
Do not skip this step so essential to content marketing success. These eight tips will assist you to prepare a killer content marketing plan that will draw in readers and drive leads.
1. Have a Dedicated Content Manager
There's no point in even beginning a content marketing campaign if you're not going to give it the attention it is worthy of. Have an in-house content manager or work with an active, competent firm to guarantee somebody is treating your content marketing seriously. You're extremely unlikely to get great results if your content manager is not experienced, or if they're responsible for another area of your company and content is not the priority.
2. Research, Research, Research
Content marketing is all about participating in the conversation that your audience is currently having. Spend a substantial amount of time on social networks, message boards, blogs, evaluation sites-- anywhere potential leads could be hanging out online-- and listen closely to what they're talking about.
This will assist you to set the tone and content of what you produce.
Among the best tools I have found for listening and research study is Buzzsumo. Buzzsumo a terrific tool to see which subjects associated with your service is presently getting the most attention, and what content is trending or performing well in a specific niche or audience.
3. Create an Editorial Calendar
The very best content marketers know that they need to publish routinely if they desire their efforts to flourish. In "How to Use Social Media and Not Feel Overwhelmed," Karen Leland of Sterling Marketing Group tells the Business owner that the very best way to keep to a stable schedule is to create a content calendar. "By some accounts, you are 75% more likely to get something done if you write it down, so put pen to paper, or hands to screen, and plan posting time. By developing at least a rough sketch of an editorial calendar for yourself over the next 3 to six months, you will not have to search out topics to publish about, however, will have a list at the ready."
Map out the next several months of the content you wish to publish across your various platforms. Having a set plan makes it a lot easier for you when it comes time to create the content because you'll understand exactly what to compose and when you require to have it finished.
4. Strategy Content for Different Channels and Formats
People take in info in numerous manner ins which if you produce content for only one channel or in a single format, you'll miss out on a large piece of your possible audience. Make sure you have techniques in location for every single channel through which you'll be communicating with your audience and tie it together in a cohesive, omnichannel strategy.
Each channel and content format should be managed according to its unique strengths and constraints. Shorter-form content with a quick takeaway or a simple hook works well for social media and videos. Longer ideas work well in article pr downloadable white papers and guides. Ensure you completely understand how every channel and content type works before you begin executing ideas.
5. Work Together when Conceptualizing Ideas
Kevan Lee of Buffer states in "Cooperation Tools for Social Media Teams: You Don't Have to Do It All Alone" that the very best way to create a broad variety of concepts is to work together on the brainstorming process: "Taking a group approach to fill a queue or handling a social channel is a magnificent method of saving time on social media. You don't need to do it all yourself. Others have incredible ideas and content to share. And of course, having the smoothest tools makes social media partnership even simpler." Lee suggests utilizing a tool such as Google Docs, Trello, or Dropbox to keep a running list of concepts from everybody involved in the content development process.
Whichever app you utilize to tape-record your group's concepts, keep it simple and stay with simply that a person. If you have all of your thoughts expanded over several different apps, you're going to misplace what you're doing, creating a detrimental, disjointed effort where no one understands what needs to get done.
6. Delegate Tasks and Hold Team Members Accountable
Do not let your team get caught in a situation where no one understands exactly what is anticipated of them. If you have a couple of writers and they're expected to produce a certain variety of article or video scripts, ensure they know that ahead of time. If there are word counts to be fulfilled, ensure they are explained before any content creation even takes place. You wish to stay with your content calendar, which can just take place if your content group is in sync.
7. Set Performance Metrics Ahead of Time
Before you get started, set some metrics and KPIs versus which you can measure your content marketing's success. Get all of your relevant keywords and search terms in a spreadsheet, and make certain everyone who composes even one word of content understands the strategy.
Determine what your KPIs are and hold yourself to them. If you want to reach a specific variety of page views, clickthroughs to landing pages, or e-mail list sign-ups, set criteria that will count as a success and work to satisfy that goal. Keep a close watch on your metrics and then constantly test and fine-tune your technique accordingly.

Sometimes, things simply don't go as prepared, and you'll realize that you need to alter direction since you simply aren't satisfying expectations or objectives. Despite what happens, you should always anticipate and get ready for the unanticipated.
Ensure you have a backup strategy in case something changes at the last minute. You desire your content marketing strategy to be extensive, but not so stiff that there's no space to adjust on the fly. Reflect to Connect: A Year-in-Review Practice to Count Your Blessings and Create New Goals
After the stress of the vacations, the New Year enters swiftly. Often, you're pumped with brand-new vitality as you have a fresh start before you. You start to hastily make your New Year's resolutions, which commonly look similar to those you have actually developed in years past. A few weeks later, your subsiding interest makes your list seem lesser, and also you're encountered, once more, with lots of insufficient goals.
By stopping briefly and mirroring on the past year, you can stay clear of making vacant objectives and, rather, create ones that are much more according to your character and also bridge your previous achievements. You could see beautiful points you had previously overlooked because you were so hectic chasing after the larger dream. You can additionally review points you didn't enjoy and also make a program adjustment towards a much more satisfying brand-new year.
While assessing the past year, avoid evaluating yourself on simply completing goals or not. Only looking toward your accomplishments can give you a slim vision of the progression of your life. End goals are not incorrect-- they can give you direction. However there are numerous other pieces of your life that can make a significant influence on that you are.
As you look to develop new goals for the coming year, assess the previous year with these 3 pointers in mind. They can aid you produce purposeful next actions to attaining what you want this next year.
Notice the Little Things
As you assess this previous year, pay interest to the little things that make your life what it is. As you go throughout your day, you could notice that you take several things for approved. You do not also reconsider your automatic cars and truck starter that permits you to get on your heated cars and truck. You're so utilized to Jenny having your triple-shot skinny mocha prepared at bench each morning that you don't reconsider it. Yet, these little points are blessings each day.
Think regarding the course you stroll or jog by your home. You might assume, "This is all the same old path, I require to locate a brand-new place to jog." Every time you probably notice something different-- the chalk drawings of neighborhood children, turtles or frogs standing in your means, or the pleased child in a stroller being pressed around by his grandmother.
Think back on your year as well as ask yourself, "What were the little things that made my day?" Perhaps it was the moment your work associate brought you lunch to your desk or the day your partner made the bed. Maybe it was your child tossing her arms around you and also informing you just how much she likes you throughout an unfortunate or stressed minute. Whatever the memories are, write them down and also treasure them.
Every day in your life is genuinely a gift. It has to do with unlocking those little presents throughout daily. Discover to accept the average, mundane minutes such as:
Commuting to work
Making the bed
Shopping for food
Tucking your kids into bed
The majority of life is made up of the mundane, yet it's so very easy to overlook those moments since you're as well focused on reaching the objective. Gain some perspective and relish in the ordinary.
Appreciate the Journey
It's usual to make fitness objectives like running a half-marathon. As you reflect on hitting that goal, recognize the lots of little actions it required to do well. Many individuals prepare two to three months for this type of race, and also some could also take eight to nine months to prepare. Each week is composed of little objectives. The race itself is always exciting and also stressful, however that's not the only component to celebrate.
Looking back on it, the minutes that made it terrific were the steps you took to get ready for it, like:
Putting post-it notes on your treadmill with your last running time
Making it to five miles the initial time
Hitting 10 miles
As you make brand-new goals, think of the actions you might take in order to arrive. Sometimes we desire everything to occur currently and also we miss the intriguing (as well as sometimes frustrating) steps such as making that trip to the house renovation shop or going to meetings with recruiters while going after a new job or occupation. And also yet, the important things that take place in those steps commonly make the most effective tales and also bring you one of the most delight as you share those tales with others.
When you miss out on the actions, you miss 80 percent of the joy. As you take inventory of the large moments in this past year, ask yourself, "What were the steps that got me below?" Possibly you stayed up examining all night for your college examination as well as were awake to see the daybreak. Perhaps you paid attention to the same song over as well as over again on a journey as well as now that track is a reminder of your destination and also the time spent with a loved one.
By appreciating the actions along the means, you take stress off of striking a big objective as well as realize that perhaps the pleasure remains in the journey.
Look for the Magic Moments
Take the moment to show on the magic minutes of 2016 with gratitude. You can start with the large milestones and also accomplished goals. Yet then try to look much deeper. What were those magic moments that composed your year? It can be something entirely non-tangible such as an area of individual growth. Perhaps you dealt with patience or rage and also tension administration. Probably you concentrated on a spiritual practice. A magic moment might be recovering a relationship or flexible a person from your past.
As you discover these magic minutes, create them down in a journal with the date they took place. Notice the timeline as well as any kind of pattern that might occur. These magic minutes probably really did not occur just by chance.
Where can you locate these magic minutes? They are anywhere. You can locate them while you're waiting in the checkout line at the food store. You can experience them on a cozy fall day as you crunch through the dropped leaves. Magic minutes make you feel alive.
Sit quietly as well as show on the following inquiries to understand how gorgeous your life has been and also what it can be in the upcoming year.
What was the craziest experience you had? That did you share it with?
What made your mouth decrease in awe and wonder?
What was your tiniest ritual that you loved?
Who made you smile the most?
What was a kind point a complete stranger provided for you?
What is an aggravating experience you had that is now an excellent memory?
When did you really feel closest to God or your Greater Power?
What made you leap for joy? (On the inside or actually?)
What was one of the most attractive point you saw?
What words made your heart melt?
Who gave you the best hug?
By putting in the time to review your previous year, you will be better able to make significant goals for the following. Remember, there is no right or incorrect way to produce your new goals. Be existing to who you are and what you require. Your psyche will certainly disclose how to ideal care for you this following year.

Review: UniFi from Ubiquiti Networking is the ultimate prosumer home networking solution
I LOVE my Amplifi Wi-Fi Mesh Network. I've had it for two years and it's been an absolute star performer. We haven't had a single issue. Rock solid. That's really saying something. From unboxing to installation to running it (working from home for a tech company, so you know I'm pushing this system) it's been totally stable. I recommend Amplifi unreservedly to any consumer or low-key pro-sumer who has been frustrated with their existing centrally located router giving them reliable wi-fi everywhere in their home.
That said...I recently upgraded my home internet service provider. For the last 10 years I've had fiber optic to the house with 35 Mbp/s up/down and it's been great. Then I called them a a few years back and got 100/100. The whole house was presciently wired by me for Gigabit back in 2007 (!) with a nice wiring closet and everything. Lately 100/100 hasn't been really cutting it when I'm updating a dozen laptops for a work event, copying a VM to the cloud while my spouse is watching 4k netflix and two boys are updating App Store apps. You get the idea. Modern bandwidth requirements and life has changed since 2007. We've got over 40 devices on the network now and many are doing real work.
I called an changed providers to a cable provider that offered true gigabit. However, I was rarely getting over 300-400 Mbp/s on my Amplifi. There is a "hardware NAT" option that really helps, but short of running the Amplifi in Bridged Mode and losing a lot of its epic features, it was clear that I was outgrowing this prosumer device.
Give I'm a professional working at home doing stuff that is more than the average Joe or Jane, what's a professional option?
UniFi from Ubiquiti
Amplifi is the consumer/prosumer line from Ubiquiti Networks and UniFi (UBNT) is the professional line. You'll literally find these installed at business or even sports stadiums. This is serious gear.
Let me be honest. I knew UniFi existed. Knew (I thought) all about it and I resisted. My friends and fellow nerds insisted it was easy but I kept seeing massive complex network diagrams and convinced myself it wasn't worth the hassle.
My friends, I was wrong. It's not hard. If you are doing business at home, have a gigabit network pipe, a wired home network, and/or have a dozen or more network devices, you're a serious internet person and you might want to consider serious internet networking gear.
Now, UniFi is more expensive than Amplifi as it's pro gear. While an Amplifi Mesh WiFi system is just about $300-350 USD, UniFi Pro gear will cost more and you'll need stuff to start out and it won't always feel intuitive as you plan your system. It is worth it and I'm thrilled with the result. The flexibility and customizability its offered has been epic. There are literally no internet issues in our house or property anymore. I've even been able to add wired and wireless non-cloud-based security cameras throughout the property. Additionally, remember how the house is already wired in nearly every room with Cat6 (or Cat5e) cabling? UniFi has reintroduced me to the glorious world of PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) and removed a half dozen AC wall plugs from my system.
Plan your Network
You can test out the web-based software yourself LIVE at https://demo.ui.com and see what managing a large network would be like. Check out their map of the FedEx Forum Stadium and how they get full coverage. You can see a simulated map of my house (not really my house) in the screenshot above. When you set up a controller you can place physical devices (ones you have) and test out virtual devices (ones you are thinking of buying) and see what they would look like on a real map of your home (supplied by you). You can even draw 3D walls and describe their material (brick, glass, steel) and their dB signal loss.
When you are moving to UniFi you'll need:
USG - UniFi Security Gateway - This has 3 gigabit points and has a WAN port for your external network (plug your router into this) and a LAN port for your internal network (plug your internal switch into this).
This is the part that doles out DHCP.
UniFi Cloud Key or Cloud Key Gen2 Plus
It's not intuitive what the USG does vs the Cloud Key but you need both. I got the Gen2 because it includes a 1TB hard drive that allows me to store my security video locally. It also is itself a PoE client so I don't need to plug it into the wall. I just wired it with a single Ethernet cable to the PoE switch below and left it in the wiring closet. There's a smaller cheaper Cloud Key if you don't need a hard drive.
You don't technically need a Cloud Key I believe, as all the UniFi Controller Software is free and you can run it in on any machine you have laying around. Folks have run them on any Linux or Windows machine they have, or even on a Synology or other NAS. I like the idea of having it "just work" so I got the Cloud Key.
UniFi Switch (of some kind and number of ports)
8 port 150 watt UniFi Switch
24 port UniFi Switch - 24 ports may be overkill for most but it's only 8 lbs and will handle even the largest home network. And it's under $200 USD right now on Amazon
24 port UniFi Switch with PoE - I got this one because it has 250W of PoE power. If you aren't interested in power over ethernet you can save money with the non-PoE version or a 16 port version but I REALLY REALLY recommend you use PoE because the APs work better with it.
Now once you've got the administrative infrastructure above, you just need to add whatever UniFi APs - access points - and/or optional cameras that you want!
NOTE/TIP - A brilliant product from Ubiquiti that I think is flying under the radar is the Unifi G3 Flex PoE camera. It's just $75 and it's tiny but it's absolutely brilliant. Full 1080p video and night vision. I'll talk about the magic of PoE later on but you can just plug this in anywhere in the house - no AC adapter - and you've got a crystal clear security camera or cameras anywhere in the house. They are all powered from the PoE switch!
I had a basic networking closet I put the USG Gateway into the closet with a patch cable to the cable modem (the DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem that I bought because I got tired of renting it from the service provider) then added the Switch with PoE, and plugged the Cloud Key into it. Admin done.
Here's the lovely part.
Since I have cable throughout the house, I can just plug in the UniFi Access Points in various room and they get power immediately. I can try different configs and test the signal strength. I found the perfect config after about 4 days of moving things around and testing on the interactive map. The first try was fine but I strove for perfect.
There's lots of UniFi Access Points to choose from. The dual radio Pro version can get pretty expensive if you have a lot so I got the Lite PoE AP. You can also get a 5 pack of the nanoHD UniFi Access Points.
These Access Points are often mounted in the ceiling in pro installations, and in a few spots I really wanted something more subtle AND I could use a few extra Ethernet ports. Since I already had an Ethernet port in the wall, I could just wall mount the UniFi Wall Mounted AP. It's both a wireless AP that radiates outward into the room AND it turns your one port into two, or you can get one that becomes a switch with more ports and extends your PoE abilities. So I can add this to a room, plug a few devices in AND a PoE powered Camera with no wall-warts or AC adapters!
NOTE: I did need to add a new ethernet RJ45 connector to plug into the female connector of the UniFi in-wall AP. Just be sure to plan and take inventory. You may already have full cables with connectors pulled to your rooms. Be aware.
There are a TON of great Wireless AP options from UniFi so make sure you explore them all and understand what you want.
Here's the resulting setup and choices I made, as viewed in the UniFi Controller Software:
I have the Gateway, the Switch with PoE, and five APs. Three are the disc APs and two are in-wall APs. They absolutely cover and manage my entire two story house and yards front and back. It's made it super easy for me to work from home and be able to work effectively from any room. My kids and family haven't had any issues with any tablets or phones.
As of the time of these writing I have 27 wireless devices on the system and 11 wired (at least those are the ones that are doing stuff at this hour).
Note how it will tell you how each device's WiFi experience is. I use this Experience information to help me manage the network and see if the APs are appropriately placed. There is a TON of great statistics and charts and graphics. It's info-rich to say the LEAST.
NOTE: To answer a common question - In an installation like this you've got a single SSID even though there's lots of APs and your devices will quietly and automatically roam between them!
The iPhone app is very full-featured as well and when you've got deep packet introspection turn on you can see a ton of statistical information at the price of a smidge of throughput performance.
I have had NO problem hitting 800-950Mbs over wired and I feel like there's no real limit to the perf of this system. I've done game streaming over Steam and Xbox game streaming for hours without a hiccup. Netflix doesn't buffer anymore, even on the back porch.
You can auto-optimize, or you can turn off a plethora of feature and manage everything manually. I was able to twitch a few APs to run their 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi radios on less crowded channels in order to get out of the way of the loud neighbors on channel 11.
I have a ton of control over the network now, unlimited expandability and it has been a fantastically stable network. All the APs are wire backed and the wireless bandwidth is rock solid. I've been extremely impressed with the clean roaming from room to room while streaming from Netflix. It's a tweakers (ahem) dream network.

7 Software Development Offshoring Myths Debunked
https://thescalers.com/contact-offshore-team-india/
The last few years have seen the offshoring industry grow exponentially. Companies are looking for solutions to scale up business sustainably and investment in offshore development teams has become a very popular one. By offshoring, companies gain access to an extensive talent pool, more cost-effective pricing, and significant opportunities to grow their business.
And yet for many, the stigmas about offshoring are enough to put them off the idea.
The concept of building a virtual team in another country may seem intimidating, but in our hyper-connected world, it doesn’t have to be. While some people have had a negative first-hand experience (usually with outsourcing, rather than offshoring) others hear exaggerated 2nd and 3rd-hand horror stories about bad communication, security breaches, and failed projects.
This has generated a lot of bad press and myths around offshoring, which is unfortunately causing some businesses to miss out on a significant performance and growth opportunity. As the experts in building successful offshore teams, let us debunk a few common offshoring myths right now.
'Outsourcing' and 'Offshoring' are the same thing
When you read articles about offshoring, you will often see 'offshoring' and 'outsourcing' used interchangeably. The reality is that outsourcing and offshoring are two entirely different concepts.
Outsourcing is about engaging external contractors to deliver capacity that you temporarily cannot meet internally. Say a company takes on too much work, they can outsource work to a third-party vendor for the duration of the project. This brings a few benefits - usually flexibility and low cost - but it also exposes the business to considerable risks.
Loss of ownership, hidden costs, lack of customer focus - these are just some of the troubles you can run into with outsourcing. The reality is that you usually get what you pay for: if you find the cheapest provider possible, you’re unlikely to get the best results.
Offshoring is quite different. This is where companies build a remote software development team (which they own, in entirety) to augment its existing workforce with skilled professionals. Since offshoring is generally to newer economies like India, companies can access first-rate talent at a lower cost than at home.
The crucial difference is that this offshore team is a part of the organization in every sense. They share the vision of the company, are fully integrated into the business, and work under the same management - this makes them as useful and reliable as your existing in-house team.
Offshoring does not produce quality work
This relates back to the previous two points: if you always chase the lowest price, and you engage under-qualified contractors, you are not going to get a quality output. That’s not an offshoring problem - that’s a management attitude problem.
Quality offshoring is about leveraging top-tier talent in order to scale up and grow your business. The lower cost and abundance of talent means you can scale up more sustainably than at home without compromising your output, whether that’s internal or for your clients.
One of the biggest mistakes a business can make is underestimating the value of their offshore team.
Whatever your industry, the key is to successful offshoring is dedicating enough time to recruiting and building a truly top-quality team. If you make that effort, there’s no reason to think your team will deliver sub-standard work. This myth is fueled by panic-buying businesses who underinvest in talent and are surprised to see the poor quality of work.
If you’re patient, and if you invest in top-quality talent, your offshore team will be a perfect complement to your existing team.
Logistical challenges make offshoring unproductive
“Geographical distance and varied time zones make offshoring totally unproductive.”
Absolutely not. One or two decades ago, the complexity of long-distance communication made working with remote teams a significant challenge. A UK company with a team in India faces a time difference of at least 5-6 hours. With minimal overlap between their working days, clear communication is absolutely crucial.
Today there is a plethora of internet-powered apps - enabling instant messaging, screen sharing, video calling and so on - which makes communication a piece of cake. What’s more, by the time your in-house team is at work, your remote team has already done a full morning's work! There is also plenty of crossover time for the essential stand-up meetings, check-ins, and reviews.
Being based halfway across the globe is now a minor inconvenience. For some businesses, it’s even more productive than having everyone in the same place!
Offshoring only works for businesses with substantial capital
Small to medium-sized businesses often view offshoring as impossible without significant cash assets or dedicated funding.
The fact is that the cost of building an offshore team completely depends on your specific requirements: the country, the size of your team, the desired quality, third-party services (electricity, internet connection, etc) and many other factors. A 3-person startup is unlikely to benefit from an offshore team since they’re too small for it to be effective. However, SMEs, in general, can absolutely benefit from offshoring if they’re looking to scale up.
When done right, offshoring offers a great way to cut overheads and keep producing great work at the same time. Think about it this way: you’re investing in a bigger team, but you can also meet higher workloads and generate a bigger margin using your offshore team.
Offshoring is not a ‘quick win’ - it’s a long-term, growth-oriented strategy that can realistically be leveraged by any business.
Offshoring does not provide data security
Another common assumption is that offshoring to another country exposes your business to significant security risks.
This is a completely valid concern, with data security being one of the most crucial bedrocks of the modern company. But why is a data breach more likely with your offshore team than in-house? In reality, it’s because you have security in place to mitigate any potential leaks or issues - so do the same with your offshore team!
The offshore team that you build is yours. That means every piece of confidential information remains within the jurisdiction of your company. Implement strict non-disclosure agreements which clearly state the terms of your contract with your offshore team. Conduct routine checks of encrypted data and invest in advanced firewalls to make sure that your trade secrets are well-protected.
As long as you take the right precautions, just like you would at home, there should be nothing to worry about.
Offshoring is ‘too complex’
There are undoubtedly technical and logistical challenges when offshoring development processes. However, they don’t have to be difficult and complex.
Offshoring is for businesses who, for one reason or another, are unable to deliver certain projects in-house. One option for offloading this capacity is outsourcing: it’s easy, it’s non-committal, and it’s cheap. However as we’ve already discussed, outsourcing also leaves you susceptible to poor results.
An offshore team, on the other hand, is an extension of your existing workforce. While intimidating, growing your workforce in a different country is not all that complicated. For a start, you will usually partner with an offshore development company whose speciality is sourcing and building the team on your behalf - people like us. They manage recruitment, set up workstations, manage facilities, and generally make sure that your remote team is fully provided for.
By trusting in the experience of offshoring experts, your team can be set up in no time at all.
So that’s it - some of the big offshoring myths and why they’re not to be taken seriously. At the end of the day, they’re called ‘myths’ for a reason. By putting in the right strategic effort, you can build an excellent offshore team and use them to deliver top-notch products and services for your clients.
Here, at the Scalers, we help you do just that.

LOADING INFORMATION ON NEON’S LEAD VOCAL, LEAD DANCE LIU TAOYI...
IDOL DETAILS
STAGENAME: N/A CURRENT AGE: 22 DEBUT AGE: 22 TRAINEE SINCE AGE: 17 COMPANY: Midas SECONDARY SKILL: N/A
IDOL PROFILE
NICKNAME(S): bao bao, pigguri (reference to her love for eating and specifically her love for pig trotters) INSPIRATION: taoyi’s inspiration stems from gemini and diamant’s foreign releases and the popularity of groups like twinko in taiwan. SPECIAL TALENTS:
impressive flexibility, she’s practically a pretzel.
physical / facial impressions.
encyclopedic memory of movies and dramas as she’s used them as a tool for learning korean.
NOTABLE FACTS:
taoyi debuted in a group called “ice creamumu” when she was thirteen.
her parents own a seafood restaurant in hualien city.
her favorite genre is horror and she has a collection of pop figures of classic horror movie villains (chucky, jason, etc.).
since moving to korea, her favorite food has become jokbal (pig trotters).
when she’s really hungry, she can finish a family platter of korean beef all on her own.
IDOL GOALS
SHORT-TERM GOALS:
debut. isn’t that any trainee’s primary reason for living? taoyi wants to see neon climb the charts and make a name for themselves as powerful rookies with a drive to succeed. she hopes that midas do them the favor of pushing them effectively and intelligently so they don’t fall into the fire pit trap of being a flash in the pan.
LONG-TERM GOALS:
long term, taoyi wants to be a filial child and make enough money to take care of her parents and keep their business afloat while doing what she loves. she’s got a lot invested into the success of neon so she hasn’t planned incredibly far ahead but she’d like to get a leg in on television and variety or an endeavor that would allow her to promote in her home country as well. it might be ambitious but she hopes neon make it that far.
IDOL IMAGE
ambition.
it takes a certain kind of drive to reach the places she’s gone now. it’s ambition and drive and flexibility, she reminds herself, that’s gotten her where she is, that’s keeping her there and making her something that midas wants to hold onto. it’s her talent, her desire to improve that makes it easy for her to stay.
they take advantage of the fact that taoyi’s korean is still developing and frame her on-and-off cultural confusion as her being more of a ditz than anything - she’s a sweet, soft-hearted, playful girl who gets words confused when she’s speaking, forms her sentences in a way that’s all her own and comes across as “4D” and peculiar, but in an endearing way, of course. she’s not stupid, the promotions will imply, we assure you, she’s just a little different, a little off-kilter and super cute. she’s from taiwan! isn’t that fun and quirky, isn’t she so admirable for making it this far in spite of it all? you underestimate her now but wait until she hits the stage.
it’s easier to take risks with her, being that she’s not native to korea, and they take advantage of that - dressing her in a crop top and a high-cut mesh leotard for her teaser pictures and implying in no shortage of words that her waist, tiny and curved, is a talking point, that her body is something to write home about and that her talent is just the cherry on top. it cuts deep when taoyi thinks back on the harsh words encouraging her to diet harder, to shed an extra 3 kilograms before she can debut, laced with the threat that she’s replaceable. why, now, is her body something to cash in on when they’d spent so much of her trainee days shaming her for the thickness of her legs?
she’s the “secret weapon” but she spends her days hidden away and wondering what she’d done to deserve that kind of pressure. ever so eager to please, desperate, she hopes she doesn’t disappoint them. that fear, of being less than great, makes her break her own back, working herself into a sweat in all the time she has away from her group members, behind the scenes. sometimes she envies them, wishes she had the benefit of sticking her neck out and showing her face to the general public, she wishes even more that it won’t make her harder to like, more vulnerable to public opinion for being a new face in the lineup. when it really hits her, she works even harder, holes herself away in her bed and studies korean until her eyes hurt. she wants to get it, so she doesn’t look stupid, so she’s ready to cock and shoot. she has to get it.
taoyi, honestly, doesn’t know where she’d be right now if it weren’t for midas seeing something in her and taking her in like a fallen baby bird from a nest too far up, with wings that weren’t quite ready to fly the way they wanted to, the way they twitched and fluttered to. she feels like she’s owes them for their hospitality, their willingness to teach her the things she hadn’t had the chance to learn back home. thank you isn’t ever enough, is it? not for something as big and life-changing as this opportunity, so she takes whatever they throw at her in stride. if they want her to play the role of the giggling ditz with the abs and the reverse charms, she can do it, if they want sex and attitude and punch-hard dancing and singing, she’ll reach into the very depths of herself to make it happen even if it feels like stepping out of her own skin.
she cries like a baby when they cut her hair for the first time. it tugs at her heart like she couldn’t have imagined it would but she can’t tell if it’s the feeling of loss or the feeling of change that causes the tears.
it’s better, she always reminds herself, than wallowing in her past failures and taking a flight back home to face her family’s disappointment. she doesn’t think practicality ever suited her much anyway.
IDOL HISTORY
“hard work and discipline” is written in mandarin above the entry way to the liu abode, on a wooden sign worn and eroded by the years it’s sat there - the generations of importance showing in the cracks in the frame. it’s the liu family motto and one of the first things taoyi learned before she’d even learned to read and write.
her parents, from humble, traditional beginnings, own a restaurant that sits comfortably under their apartment in the middle of hualien city. taoyi grows up learning the ropes and watching her parents stress and squawk and worry about money, about keeping the lights on in their restaurant - in their home, so she stresses, too. she takes that stress and she internalizes it, she helps around the house in every way she can, she tries not to take more than they can give. the restaurant is something like a family heirloom, strong and mighty and generations old. she gets anxious thinking about life without it, she can’t imagine a life where she doesn’t wake up early every morning to help her mother take the chairs down off of every table and wipe down the bar counters, where she doesn’t sit in the backroom of the establishment and work through barrels of fresh vegetables to check for bugs as a punishment for bringing home a bad grade. and that makes her anxious, too.
taoyi is twelve when she decides that taking the ink sacks out of fresh-caught squid isn’t the future she wants for herself and she’s met with a chilly reception.
“how do you expect to be a celebrity when you can barely keep your room clean? how do you expect to get anywhere with those grades, taoyi?”
so, she does what any rational, determined twelve-year-old would do and runs off to stay with her grandparents. she lays her head in her grandmother’s lap and tells her about the dreams she has, about the vision she can’t get out of her head of her standing on a stage with a spotlight shining down on her. it feels more like a memory than a dream, it feels like maybe it’s a glimpse from a version of herself much farther down the line with the skills to make it happen, but her grandmother shushes her. she tells her there’s time.
time passes.
an opportunity arises, like many do, seemingly out of nowhere, months down the line when a man who introduces himself as “slade” walks into her family’s building, hands her a business card with a number and an address written on it and tells her to ask her parents about a shot at hitting it big. it’s too good to be true and her parents tell her as much but they don’t shoot her down, thinking that maybe a failure will bring her to her senses.
the group is called “ice creamumu” and the concept is this: radio pop, but put cute little girls in lolita dresses and bows and have them sing over elements and twinkly beats. she’s the replacement for another girl who’d called it quits and she wastes a year of her life “training” under a no name company with poor management and no industry pull to the tune of a song that doesn’t even chart. it’s a waste of money and her parents tell her as much when she trudges back home when her contract is up, backpack over her shoulder and tears in her eyes because she’d been wrong. she’d gotten to sing on stage and it wasn’t to a mass of adoring fans, but pitying onlookers in small venues and singular passionate male fans who made her uncomfortable.
the reason, they tell her, before she leaves for good, deletes their numbers and tears the paperwork to shreds in a fit of pre-adolescent rage, is that the concept is too obscure, hard to market and tone deaf to the current climate of the taiwanese music scene - maybe in japan, they say, but she doesn’t listen and leaves much like the girl before her had. it’d be hard for anybody to make it with a cute lolita concept in this day and age, they say. they make it sound like it was her fault for believing it’d work out in the first place. taoyi feels stupid.
she feels even dumber when she re-enters the real world, the work and school world, where she’s back to working in the backroom of her parent’s restaurant for free and struggling to understand her school work between her dance classes and the other job she’d picked up in the aftermath to help pay for them.
it’s three years of this, of her quietly working toward her dream and doing what her parents expect of her. “hard work and discipline,” she never forgets and she takes it with her through her final exams, she takes it with her when she learns at the local studio, carries it in her pocket when she feels like she’s wasting her time; she carries it with her when the end of her high school career comes and goes and she’s still here, living with her parents and working at their restaurant and checking the vegetables for bugs and never seeing past tomorrow, when she finds her second wind.
taoyi misses midas’s overseas audition in taiwan by a month and a half and by the time she hears about it, they’d come and gone and taken the trainees they wanted with them.
she doesn’t know what makes her do it, she’s not certain of what makes midas so special, but she feels like this is it, she feels like she has to go after them and find her place among their ranks. taoyi tells her parents that she’s leaving over dinner two days before her one-way flight to korea and they tell her she’s lost her mind. they can’t pay for room and board in a foreign country and they sure as hell can’t pay the fee that’d come should she change her mind about it all and that, something about that exhilarates her. it feels something like independence, it feels like choice and building herself a platform to stand on. it feels like the opportunity to prove herself a capable daughter, to prove that she’s someone they can be proud of. her parents aren’t so willing to let their daughter leave the nest all on her own and agree to let her pursue this pipe dream under the condition that her mother come along - even that’s a costly decision and in the forty-eight hours leading up to takeoff, they have many discussions about the impact something like that would have on the family business.
they reschedule the flight to a more reasonable date, giving her mother time to make sure there’s a replacement in order to keep things running while they’re off in korea. it takes longer than taoyi anticipates and she spends the bulk of her time waiting with a bad attitude made worse by the itch she feels to just go, before it’s too late, before something else stands in the way of her making something of herself. it feels like she’s waiting for her parents to catch up and watching the door close in her face and, yeah, maybe that’s a bit dramatic but she feels weighed down, jittery with the need to take flight. she feels it even when they’re in the airport set to go and it doesn’t stop until she’s sat in her plane seat.
and just like that, she’s off.
taoyi’s got enough saved to last a few weeks to a month without a job but she spends the first dregs of it on a room in a hotel after trying to communicate with the clerk first in poorly learned korean and then again, more successfully, in english. her mother takes over, thankfully, the adult between the two of them and negotiates a space for the both of them for the next week, at least. she doesn’t know how she’ll manage once her mother flies back home and leaves her here to fend for herself, and she wonders if it’d be to much to ask that she and the rest of the family pick up and move here, then just as quickly discards the thought. she hasn’t lost sight of the reason she came, she truthfully couldn’t have, even if she’d tried. she’s in a foreign country, seventeen years old and banking on something that’s far from guaranteed.
she’s broke enough as it is and the flight to korea for the both of them had been more than either of them could really afford. taoyi had paid for her mother’s ticket, pretending it wasn’t a big deal, like she had enough and then some to spend, but it’d made a larger dent than she’d anticipated. the hotel room doesn’t help, but it’s a stepping stone, she reminds herself, a means to an end. what’s an artist without a struggle? her mother calls her foolish. she isn’t wrong.
she clears her mind with a shower and sits prone on her bed with her laptop in front of her, opened to midas’s homepage just to double check, just to make sure that she’d come at the right time of year and the relief she feels has her falling backwards, sagging into the lumpiness of her mattress and staring up at the ceiling with tears in her eyes. thank god. she’d been so sure she’d miss it.
in the week leading up to open auditions, she and her mother get to work on acquiring a work visa, looking for places for her to call home, and a head start on learning how to communicate in this new environment. korean is more difficult than she’d anticipated. it’s the vocabulary and the grammar that trips her up but maybe it’s the anxiety that keeps her from learning it as quickly as she wants to. she’d never been a very good student.
it feels a little bit worth it when she passes her audition, when her mother signs her off and they fly back home to gather the rest of her things so she can make the move into the share house they’d agreed upon. it’s not the cheapest and the owner lets her stay under the expectation that her mother call the office every month until she turns eighteen, but it’s a place to rest her head every night.
it gets harder from there. she’s not used to the rigor that the company demands from the second she joins their ranks and her first few months are spent in tears as she gets yelled at in a language she barely understands and forced to do exercises she’s never seen before and forced to overhaul her entire diet for something made with the sole purpose of keeping her alive while she sheds pounds of healthy weight. taoyi sobs down the phone to her parents back home, looking for sympathy and crying even harder when she realizes that even this, a simple luxury like being able to speak to her family is going to cost her money that she doesn’t have. she doesn’t get the unconditional sympathy she’s looking for, just a reminder of the family motto, a promise that she has a home to come back to if, when she fails again. it feels like support, or at least their version of it.
hard work and discipline, liu taoyi. don’t let your family down, liu taoyi. you wanted this, liu taoyi.
they’re right. she’d asked for this, she’d gone out of her way to get here. it wouldn’t be fair to herself or anybody else for her to give up now.
so, she works even harder to catch up to her peers who’ve been learning on this level for years and spends every waking hour she can afford working towards the vague, intangible goal of being picked and chosen. half of every pay check she earns at her day job goes towards her back-home fund, intended to send back to her parents to show them that something’s happening, and the other half goes entirely toward her cost of living. she doesn’t have much in the way of pocket money. she misses out on a lot of the more costly outings with her peers, but she gets better and that’s what matters. her parents visit when money isn’t quite as tight and she looks forward to those days more than anything.
taoyi’s nearly fluent by the time midas picks from the sea of trainees for girls to use for their new project. the disappointment she feels when she isn’t chosen is hard to ignore and she pores over her own shortcomings. when she blows out her twenty-first birthday candle, she hopes there’s still time.
maybe it’s cheap that she gets her wish when another girl gets removed from the lineup but she doesn’t mind being a replacement, too beaten down and eager to give up the opportunity or be held back by something as petty as pride. they praise her immensely for her propensity for picking up where the other girl had left off, for being so quick to fit into the mold they’d built for someone else and make it her own. she’s got a power to her that they appreciate, something that they pretend to kick themselves over not seeing before. it’s a pretty lie - they’d known exactly who they’d wanted when they’d picked the other girl but she decides then and there to let them know that she should’ve been the one they chose from the beginning.
taoyi’s passion shows through leaps and bounds, she’s a well oiled machine of hard earned talent and difficult to ignore presence. it’s a lot of pressure to keep up, to maintain the illusion of strength that’s been cultivated over years of being told that she can and should always be better. she carries it with her.
they repay her by marketing her as their “secret weapon,” careful to hide her face from the public up until the teasers drop despite the natural desire of midas fans to do detective work to find out for themselves. she’s a hidden gem, the thing that’ll push the girls over the line and into their own kind of victory. no pressure or anything.
her parents have made it clear that neon is the last chance she has before they fly her back home and teach her the ropes of the family business. success is the difference between living her dream of becoming an idol, standing prone in the spotlight, and gutting fish in taiwan, getting a practical degree that she can make real money off of. she’ll do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
anything.
now, with debut looming over her, she feels like it may have been worth it.

When teaching English online, our TEFL courses prepare you
Teaching English Online
When teaching English online, our TEFL courses prepare you
Click here for more info about Teaching English Online
When we think of the word “teacher” the image that probably comes to mind is one of a traditional classroom with rows of students in desks and a prim and proper instructor at the blackboard with a ruler in hand and apple on desk. But times are changing. With technology improving every day, new channels of communication and learning that were one unperceivable are being opened up to us that change the way we teach and learn completely. One such channel is Skype. Once a vision of the future in cheesy sci-fi movies of the ’80s, video calling is now a completely integrated part of our daily life. While most of us use it as a means of keeping in touch with loved ones, enterprising English academies in Asia are capitalizing on the technology to pair young pupils with native English speakers halfway across the globe for after school English lessons. This benefits both the students who get a teacher that grew up speaking English correctly and understands the finer nuances of the language and also the teacher who gets to earn money from the comfort of their own home teaching something that comes naturally to them. Think teaching English online might be for you? Read on.
1. You enjoy working from the comfort of your own home
Some people love the 9 to 5 rat race. They love going to bed at a reasonable hour and waking up early morning, jumping in the shower and heading out into the peak bustle of rush hour traffic while wearing their most uncomfortable suit. Teaching English online is probably not for those kinds of people. If the thought of continuing to sleep while your partner rushes about the house trying to leave on time, watching the pouring rain from your living room window or never needing to drive during rush hour appeals to you, teaching English online might be for you. There’s no need to dress up nicely (although you will have to be somewhat presentable during the actual lessons), pack a lunch, put mileage on your vehicle or make banal small talk with your boring coworkers. By teaching English online, you can be surrounded by all your favorite foods, entertainment, and family members at all times. Just be careful not to get sick of them!
2. You enjoy keeping odd hours
While the societal ideal is being early to bed and early to rise, the truth is that many of us don’t feel healthy, wealthy or wise at 6 am. Everyone is different and while some people do great on a 9 to 5 schedule, a lot of us have internal clocks that just don’t work like that. With teaching English online, you will most likely be tutoring a child in a time zone on the opposite end of the world so you will most likely not be keeping within the 9 to 5 confines of most jobs meaning you will work some pretty odd hours. Yes, a lot of these odd hours will be early mornings but you have a lot more flexibility to choose the hours you want to work. You will also probably never do 8 hours straight. You might do 2-3 hours in the morning, take all afternoon off for a siesta or running errands and come back to it for a couple of hours in the evening. You might prefer to be a total night owl and work during the wee hours of the night tutoring the children on their weekends and holidays (poor kids). Either way whatever your preference, you will have much more flexibility in choosing your working hours with teaching English online than in most other conventional jobs.
3. You enjoy meeting new people
New people are great, especially people from a culture completely different from your own. It’s always refreshing and stimulating to personal growth to meet someone with a uniquely different way of viewing the world from your own. Traditionally, one had to take time off work, invest a bunch of money and time and risk being robbed and catching deadly diseases to gain unique insights into life and expand their minds. This is no longer the case, you can now meet new people without ever forgoing your coffee maker or taking off your favorite pair of slippers. Through teaching English online, you will be paired up with 2 to 3 pupils for a long time and although it will start off with you teaching things to them, you will soon start to realize that they are also teaching things to you. You may very well start to become quite close with your students as you speak to them one on one for hours at a time about their culture and daily life (in English of course!), and they will probably be just as interested in yours. It’s really the modern-day equivalent of having a pen pal, except you get paid!
4. You enjoy seeing your efforts “pay off”
Many jobs are just a monotonous routine, you may spend hours filling spreadsheets, crunching numbers or waiting tables only to return the next morning to start all over again with no real visible difference made by your efforts. Sure you get the satisfaction of a job well done at the end of the day but it usually ends there, there is no physical representation of a positive difference apart from your paycheck. With teaching English online, things are different. You work with the same pupil for months, maybe even years, constantly helping him or her improve their language skills. They are a living and breathing representation of all your efforts and they will carry those efforts with them the rest of their lives. It will always be with feelings of immense pride and fondness when you compare where a pupil is now to where they were when you first started together and knowing that the difference is a result of all your hard work. It works both ways too, as proud of you will be of them for coming so far, they will also attribute a lot of their success to you. Every time they use their English skills, to land a high paying job, read a new book or make a new friend, they will remember you, which is really the best kind of difference you can make in the world.
