delicate — geto suguru.
Suguru glared at Gojo. “I’m not concerned, I just—” “Uh–uhuh, keep talking.” “I’m just some friend—acquaintance. Worried.” Suguru narrowed his eyes. “Seriously, Satoru. I don’t know what you’re going on about. If I'm in love with them, shoot me.” Without missing a beat, Gojo grinned, “Bang.” He made a playful gun gesture with his hand and gave Suguru a wide grin. “Cupid’s bullets confirm!”

YOU WEREN’T LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. You were the it-girl, so sought after. The shining star. You were the girl everyone wanted to be—effortlessly beautiful, charming, and the center of attention at Jujutsu College. As a cheerleader, you had it all: the admiration of your peers, the envy of others, and the kind of popularity that opened every door.
Everywhere you went, eyes followed. Whispers trailed in your wake, a symphony of awe and envy that only fueled your rise to the top. You were untouchable, your smile a weapon, your presence a force. Parties, events, and the campus buzzed with your name. Everyone wanted to be near you, to bask in the glow of your effortless charisma. But all of that came crashing down when you chose to stand up for what you believed was right.
The whispers got worse the moment they took to the locker room. One of the newer cheerleaders, a girl named Emi, was their target—shy, awkward, and an easy mark for their cruelty. You watched it unfold for days, biting your tongue, hoping it would stop. They were the same, the seniors who already graduated. You let them do it then, because you hoped they’d stop like the seniors did. But they did not. Instead, it went too far.
You looked at them for a moment, trying not to be obvious. This was going too far. The girl was about to cry, maybe she’d even get even more hurt. This is enough. You cannot stay and just stay silent anymore. Maybe it was the memory of your own first days on the squad, when you weren’t yet the queen bee, when you still had something to prove. Or maybe it was just a sense of fairness that you couldn’t ignore. But you knew that this had to stop. This has to end.
"God, Emi, you can’t even get a basic cheer right. Why are you even here?" one of the girls sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
Emi stood frozen, her eyes welling up with tears. The other cheerleaders laughed, egging each other on, pushing her closer to the edge. You bit your lip, closing your locker with a loud bang, causing everyone to look at you. You could feel Emi’s eyes on you too, shaking with fear as tears fell from her cheeks.
“Leave her alone, you freaks!” you said, your voice sharp as you stepped forward. “That is enough. She doesn’t deserve this. You’ve gone too far, even more than our seniors!”
They turned to you, surprise flickering across their faces before it morphed into mockery. You moved forward to the captain, eyes narrowed as you glared at her. You shook your head at her. “Just leave her alone. She’s a freshman. She doesn’t need your shit.”
“What, are you her knight in shining armor now?” one of the lackeys taunted, crossing her arms. “You’re supposed to be on our side, aren’t you? This is a tradition for us seniors.”
“I’m on the side that’s not full of bullies.” you shot back, your anger boiling over. “Being bullied doesn’t mean you should be one!”
“What’s your problem?” another girl snapped, stepping closer, her tone threatening. “She’s dead weight, and you know it.”
You clenched your fists, trying to keep your temper in check. “My problem is that you’re all acting like a bunch of jerks. If you can’t see that, then maybe you’re the dead weight.”
The tension in the room exploded like a storm that had been brewing for too long. You could feel it in the way the air seemed to thicken, in the way eyes narrowed and lips curled into sneers. It started with a harsh word—one of those sly, cutting remarks that slid under the skin like a blade. But this time, you couldn’t let it slide. Not when it was aimed at Emi, the quiet girl who had been on the receiving end of too many of those slights.
You were on your feet before you even realized it, the words spilling out of you in a rush of anger and defiance. “What’s your problem? Why do you always have to pick on someone who’s done nothing to you?”
Your voice cut through the chatter, silencing the room. The others stared at you, shocked that you—of all people—would dare to break ranks. The lead cheerleader, the queen bee, glared at you, her eyes narrowed into slits. “What, are you her bodyguard now? Don’t act like you’re better than us.”
It was the spark that lit the fire. The room erupted into chaos as insults were hurled back and forth. You didn’t back down, not when they turned their barbs on you, not when they sneered at Emi. It all escalated so fast—too fast. Suddenly, hands were shoving, nails were scratching, and before you knew it, you were in the middle of a full-blown fight.
You could barely make sense of it all. The adrenaline surged through you, drowning out the pain as someone’s fist connected with your cheek, leaving a nasty bruise that would bloom later. All you could think about was protecting Emi, keeping her out of the fray, even as the world around you descended into chaos.
The chaos only ended when the coaches rushed in, their voices booming as they waded into the mess of tangled limbs and flaring tempers. They pulled you all apart, demanding to know what had happened, their faces a mix of shock and anger.
But it was too late—the damage was done. You could see it in their eyes, the way they looked at you now, like you were the problem. The principal was called in, and you found yourself standing in his office, staring at the floor as he lectured you about school spirit and the responsibilities that came with your position.
Your words fell on deaf ears. They didn’t want to hear about the bullying, about how you were just trying to protect Emi. All they saw was the fight, the disruption, and the girl who had gone from golden to tarnished in a matter of minutes.
When you returned to the locker room, it was like a slap in the face. Your things had been removed from your team locker, stuffed unceremoniously into a bag and left on the floor. You were no longer welcome. The cheerleaders, the same girls who had once been your closest friends, looked at you with cold eyes and turned their backs.
You had wanted to protect Emi, and now you were left with a throbbing bruise, a reprimand from the principal, and a cold emptiness where your friends used to be. But even as you walked out of that locker room, head held high despite everything, you knew you’d do it all over again. Because some things were worth fighting for, even if it meant losing everything else.
The next day, you found yourself officially kicked off the squad. Well, Emi was also kicked out too, but you were glad that she wasn’t at all hurt. That was what mattered. The news spread like wildfire, and the people who once idolized you now whispered behind your back. Your world felt like it was crumbling, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you’d made the biggest mistake of your life.
Later that afternoon, you found yourself sitting alone outside, trying to process everything that had happened. Emi had repeatedly apologized to you today, but you kept waving her off and told her to stay safe around school. It wasn’t really her fault. Maybe if you had acted much earlier, maybe Emi wouldn’t have had to go through the worst. Perhaps this was your punishment. This was what happened because of your inaction. And you feel like you deserve this. You deserve to be punished like this. You could only sigh.
That’s when you heard someone approaching.
“You know, I always thought cheerleaders were supposed to be a tight-knit group.” a voice drawled.
You looked up to see Gojo Satoru standing there, hands in his pockets, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. “Guess I was wrong, huh?”
“Guess so.” you muttered, feeling the sting of his words even though they weren’t meant to hurt. “I’m sorry, have I met you before?”
“I don’t think so.” He says, removing his round sunglasses. “Have we met before too?”
“Don’t think so.” You admitted also, face scrunching in confusion. “I don’t meddle around with unpopular kids.”
“Hey, hey, I’m not unpopular.”
“Then why have I never heard of your name before?” You raised your brow.
“I don’t know, maybe you were too focused on being a cheerleader and me being a Digimon stan?”
“Oh, so you’re a nerd!” You clapped your hands together. “That makes sense why I haven’t heard about you.”
He sighed. “You cheerleaders are cut throats, aren’t you?”
“I’m an ex–cheerleader now. Not really much of a cheerleader anymore.” You snickered. “Those pom pom waving mean girls, goodbye them!”
He plopped down next to you, stretching out his long legs. “So, what’s the plan now? Are you gonna go all lone wolf, or are you open to a new company?”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “Why do you care?”
Gojo shrugged, his smile widening. “Because I’m curious about the girl who went from queen bee to outcast in one day. That takes guts.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, though it came out a little bitter. “Or stupidity.”
“Or both, you know?” he agreed easily. “But I like guts. So does Shoko. And Suguru. And Kento and Haibara. You’d fit right in with us.”
“Fit in?” you echoed, not sure if he was being serious. Your face reminded Satoru of how Kento reacted to him asking to be his friend.
“Yeah.” he said, leaning back on his hands, looking up at the sky. “We’re not exactly the most popular kids on campus, but we’re fun. And we don’t care about that petty stuff.”
Before you could respond, Shoko Ieiri appeared, hands stuffed in her lab coat pockets, a cigarette dangling from her lips. “You’re not bothering her, are you, Gojo?”
“Me? Bother someone? Never, Sho.” Gojo said, feigning innocence. “Just making a new friend.”
Shoko rolled her eyes and looked at you. “He’s right, though. You’re welcome to hang with us if you want.”
You hesitated, glancing between them. “I don’t know…”
“Don’t worry about it,” Shoko said with a lazy grin. “We don’t bite. Well, maybe Gojo does, but only if you ask nicely.”
You laughed again, this time more genuinely. “Okay… I guess I’ll give it a shot.”
As the days passed, you found yourself drifting away from the cheerleaders and into a new circle. It started subtly at first, with Gojo casually inviting you to sit with him and Shoko during lunch. Gojo’s easygoing nature made it hard to say no, and Shoko’s dry humor quickly drew you in.
They didn’t seem to care about the drama that had turned your life upside down. Gojo’s bright grin and carefree attitude were a stark contrast to the cold shoulders you’d been getting from your former friends. Shoko, with her sharp wit and laid-back demeanor, offered a kind of friendship that felt refreshing, real in a way that the cheerleading squad never had.
Soon, Geto Suguru and Nanami Kento joined in. Suguru had a quiet confidence about him, a steady presence that was both comforting and intriguing. He didn’t ask about the fight or why you weren’t with the cheerleaders anymore. Instead, he offered a warm smile and an understanding nod, as if he knew without needing to be told.
Nanami, on the other hand, was more reserved. He didn’t speak much at first, but his presence was reassuring. There was a steadiness to him, a sense of reliability that you hadn’t realized you craved. He welcomed you into their group with a subtle nod, a small but genuine gesture that told you he saw you for who you were now, not who you had been before.
Each of them, in their own way, made room for you. They didn’t treat you like the fallen star or the girl with the tarnished reputation. With them, you didn’t have to pretend. You could be yourself—no masks, no expectations. And slowly, you began to feel something you hadn’t felt in a long time: belonging.
That afternoon, all of you were sitting together under a tree on campus, watching the world go by. Geto Suguru was in the middle of explaining something, his voice calm and soothing, while Nanami listened quietly, offering his thoughts every now and then. Yu was more excited trying to make friends with you than before. You think it's interesting, how this ball of sunshine saw you as some sort of superhero for what you did, even if you didn’t.
Yu Haibara, ever the sunshine in human form, plopped down beside you with a grin. “Hey, I heard about what happened with the cheer squad. Pretty badass, if you ask me.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth of genuine friendship for the first time in what felt like forever. “Thanks. I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing, but…”
“It was! You’re so cool, you know?” Haibara said firmly. “Standing up for someone who needed it? That’s always the right thing.”
“Besides, it’s just what it is, you know?” Geto added, looking over at you. He was smoking his cigarette roll, one he made himself. “You don’t have to be what you aren’t.”
“Yeah.” Nanami agreed, his voice steady and reassuring. “You don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not with us.”
You looked around at them—this group of people who had taken you in without hesitation, who saw you for who you really were, not just the image you had projected for so long. And for the first time in a while, you felt like you were exactly where you were meant to be.
As the weeks went by, you found a surprising sense of belonging with Gojo, Shoko, Suguru, Nanami, and Yu. They had become your new circle of friends, and their acceptance gave you a fresh start that you didn’t know you needed. They were a new sort of fun, a different kind of excitement that was worlds apart from the polished, high-pressure life you’d known as the it-girl.
With them, your days became filled with spontaneous adventures. Gojo was always dragging everyone to the arcade, where his competitive streak made every game feel like a high-stakes challenge. Shoko would roll her eyes at his antics but still join in, her laughter adding to the cacophony of beeping machines and cheerful music. Suguru, ever the cool-headed one, had a knack for choosing the perfect music stores to visit, introducing you to tracks that soon became the soundtrack to this new chapter of your life.
Nanami and Suguru were more reserved, especially at first. You could tell they were still feeling you out, trying to figure out if you really fit into their group. But even in their uncertainty, they made an effort. Nanami, despite his serious demeanor, would show up at the burger joints Gojo loved, quietly indulging in the greasy food and ridiculous banter. Suguru, with his calm presence, would often give you a slight smile or a nod, a small but significant sign that you were being welcomed, even if it was cautiously.
Yu was the glue that held it all together, his infectious energy and boundless enthusiasm pulling everyone along. Satoru was as enthusiastic as he was, but unlike him — Yu was someone that tried to keep everyone in good peace together. And he was good. He had a way of making you feel included, whether it was by handing you a spare controller at the arcade or making sure you got the best seat at the burger joint.
That’s just how it was with them. You didn’t have to worry about the petty dramas or the constant pressure to be perfect. With this group, it was all about the moment—the thrill of a high score, the taste of a greasy burger, the discovery of a new song. And you liked it. You liked who you were becoming with them.
Gojo leaned back in his chair, tossing a sugar packet from one hand to the other. “You know, you fit in with us better than you did with that cheer squad.”
You shot him a playful glare. “Are you saying I was too good for them?”
Shoko rolled her eyes. “Stop teasing, Gojo. You’re ruining the vibe.”
“Hey, I’m not!” Gojo argues as his grin spreads, “Just that our new friend here is way cooler than they ever gave them credit for.”
You looked at Shoko, who was sipping her coffee with a look of amused tolerance, added, “He’s right. They were just too busy with their drama to see how awesome you are.”
Suguru, sitting across from you, offered a more thoughtful observation. He bit into his fries. “Sometimes, it takes getting knocked down to realize where you truly belong. You were always meant to be with people who appreciate you for who you are.”
Nanami, who had been quietly observing, nodded in agreement. “You’re a good blend with us, I think. We’ve had a lot of fun since you joined us.”
Yu Haibara, always the optimist, leaned in with a grin. “Yeah, and you’ve made things a lot more interesting around here. It’s not every day we get someone with your… spirit.”
You smiled, feeling a warm flush of gratitude. “Thanks, guys. I wasn’t sure where I’d fit in after everything that happened, but I really appreciate how welcoming you’ve all been.”
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and you found yourself laughing more than you had in a long time. It was a refreshing change from the pressure and pretense of your previous life.
As the night wore on, Gojo suddenly stood up and stretched. “Hey, who’s up for a late-night walk? I heard there’s a new food truck downtown.”
Shoko raised an eyebrow. “You just want an excuse to get more snacks.”
“Guilty as charged.” Gojo admitted with a wink. “But you’re all welcome to join if you’re up for it.”
“Sounds good to me.” Suguru said, standing up and grabbing his coat.
You looked around at your friends, feeling a genuine sense of contentment. “I’m in.”
“You feeling cold?” Suguru asked as he saw you stand from the booth.
“A little—” He threw you his jacket, which you were barely able to catch.
“Put it on.”
“O–oh, okay.”
As you all walked together through the city streets, the cool night air filled with laughter and conversation, you realized how different this life felt from the one you had left behind. There were no superficial judgments, no hidden agendas—just a group of people who valued each other’s company and had each other’s backs.
Later, as you shared food and stories under the streetlights, you found yourself in a moment of quiet reflection. You had come so far from the popular girl who had been kicked out of the cheer squad. You were no longer defined by your past status or the mistakes you’d made. Instead, you were part of a new chapter, one where you were valued for who you truly were.
Gojo’s laughter broke through your thoughts as he tossed a piece of popcorn into the air, catching it with a grin. “See? This is what life’s about—good friends, good food, and not taking things too seriously.”
You laughed, feeling the weight of the past lift off your shoulders. “I couldn’t agree more.”
In that moment, you knew that despite everything you had been through, you had found something real and genuine. And as you walked beside your new friends, you felt a renewed sense of hope for the future, knowing that wherever life took you next, you would face it with people who truly cared about you.
But in that moment, Geto Suguru looked at you and thought to himself for a moment, just for that moment — how good happiness looks on you.
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🌌*ੈ𑁍༘⋆
IF HE WAS BEING HONEST, HE’S NOT ONE TO TRUST PEOPLE EASILY. But coming from a rough place in life, it was something that can’t be helped. So, in the beginning, Geto Suguru had his reservations about you. He’d heard the rumors about the cheerleader who had once been the queen of Jujutsu College, and he wasn’t impressed. To him, you seemed like just another snob who was used to getting their way and couldn’t be bothered with anyone outside her circle.
When Gojo tried to blend you into the group, Suguru’s attitude was guarded, and for a good reason. So, he kept his distance and even interacted with you, he tried to be casual, trying to not get too deep into it.
He remembers what he said then — “I’m not really into the whole ‘cheerleader’ thing,” he’d said with a shrug. “Not my style. So they're still not my style either.”
You had sensed his cold demeanor but tried not to let it bother you. Instead, you focused on being yourself—friendly, outgoing, and always ready to lend a hand. You wanted to prove that you weren’t just the image people had of you. Even though you could still be rough in the edges with your personality, it didn’t stop people from enjoying your company.
And over time, Geto Suguru began to see a different side of you. You didn’t just laugh at his jokes or offer superficial compliments, nor were you as stuck up as people make you out to be; you were genuinely kind and considerate. You had a really good way of making others feel comfortable, and it wasn’t long before he found himself intrigued by the real you, the one who went out of their way to help others despite their own struggles.
One evening, as the group hung out at a quiet park, you were sitting on the grass, talking animatedly about a new project you were excited about. If he was being honest, excitement was a beautiful color on you. And he thinks that he wants to see more of that in you. He could only sigh as he thought about how much you’ve occupied his mind. He shakes his head. Suguru looks above the sky, trying to distract himself while Satoru spoke to everyone about his new date.
“You know, Suguru.” you said, glancing over at him, snapping him back to reality. “I really appreciate how you’ve been around lately. And how not awkward it is between us now. It means a lot to me.”
Suguru raised an eyebrow. “I’m just here because Gojo dragged me along. Don’t get any ideas.”
You laughed, unfazed. “Yeah, yeah. But seriously, you’re not as bad as I thought you’d be. I guess we’re not so different after all.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Maybe. But don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here because I have to be.”
Despite his words, you noticed subtle changes in his behavior. He was more engaged in conversations around you, his smiles more frequent, and he’d even started teasing you back. You found yourself drawn to him more and more, your feelings shifting from admiration to something deeper. The way he would look at you, even with his usual aloofness, made your heart race.
After a particularly lively conversation about your favorite books, Suguru caught you off guard with a rare moment of vulnerability. He looked at you with an intensity that made your breath hitch.
“You’re really persistent, you know that?” he said, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. “I didn’t think I’d be saying this, but you’ve managed to get under my skin.”
You grinned, feeling a rush of hope. “Is that a good thing?”
Suguru looked away, his expression turning more serious. “I’m not sure. I told myself I’d just tolerate you, but… the more I hang around, the harder it is to keep my distance.”
He was fighting it, trying to convince himself that his growing feelings for you were nothing more than an annoyance. “I don’t know what you’re trying to do.” he continued, frustration evident in his voice. “But I’m not someone who easily changes his mind. So don’t expect too much.”
Despite his words, there was a softness in his eyes when he looked at you, a clear sign that he was fighting a losing battle. The more you interacted, the more he found himself charmed by your genuine warmth and infectious enthusiasm. And he didn’t know what to feel about that. He doesn’t know how to react to you.
You were infatuated with him, and it became clear that you wanted his attention—more than just casual conversation, more than friendly banter. You wanted to be the one who made him smile, the one he thought about when he was alone.
And though Suguru tried to keep his distance, you could see the cracks in his resolve. His stoic exterior was melting away, little by little, with every shared laugh, every meaningful conversation. He couldn’t deny the way he felt any longer, no matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise.
In moments of quiet, when it was just the two of you, Geto Suguru’s demeanor softened. He would catch himself gazing at you with an expression that betrayed his irritation with his own feelings. He was torn between his desire to remain aloof and the undeniable pull he felt towards you. As you continued to be your bubbly, charming self, Suguru found himself drawn to you more and more, fighting a battle he wasn’t sure he wanted to win.
The house party was in full swing by the time you and your friends arrived. The sorority house was buzzing with energy, and the crowd was a mix of familiar faces and new ones. You were excited to be there, especially because you had a date with you—Mark, a guy you had been seeing for a few weeks.
Suguru Geto, always the reserved observer, was there too, though he seemed more detached from the festivities. He had taken a spot near the snack table, his gaze scanning the room. When he noticed you with Mark, he gave a curt nod but didn’t say much.
As the night progressed, Suguru found himself cornered by Mark, who was chatting animatedly with a group of people. You had gone off to mingle with others, leaving Mark to his own devices. Suguru, being the stand-up guy he was, decided to introduce himself.
“Hey, I’m Suguru.” he said, offering a polite smile. “So, what’s your story, bro?”
Mark took a swig of his drink and grinned. “Oh, I’m just here to have a good time, mess around, party hard. You know how it is.”
Suguru nodded, trying to make conversation. “Yeah, I get it. So, how long have you and my friend been seeing each other?”
Mark’s smile faltered slightly. “A few weeks. But, honestly, they're kind of a handful.”
Suguru’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he kept his tone neutral. “Oh? How so?”
Mark shrugged, looking around to make sure no one else was listening. “They’re always so cheerful and in-your-face. It gets old pretty fast. And don’t get me started on their mood swings. Sometimes they’re all sunshine and other times, they’re just… exhausting.”
Suguru’s smile faltered, and he could feel a simmering anger rising. “I wouldn’t say that. They’re actually really kind and caring. Maybe they’re just passionate around you.”
Mark snorted. “Passionate? More like over–dramatic. You must be used to it, though, considering you hang out with them.”
Suguru’s jaw tightened. “I think you should stop talking about them like that.”
Mark raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the reaction he was getting. “Why? It’s the truth. You know, they could be a lot better if they just… toned it down a bit.”
Suguru’s eyes darkened as he took a deep breath. “Seriously, stop it.”
Mark continued, oblivious to Suguru’s mounting frustration. “They’re always making everything about themselves, always trying to be the center of attention. I don’t get why you’d even bother with them. They’re literally like….a bitch..”
Without warning, Suguru’s hand tightened around his beer bottle. He took a step forward, his voice low and dangerous. “I said, stop.”
The tension in the room was thick, a simmering undercurrent that everyone felt but no one acknowledged—until Mark pushed too far. He had been needling Suguru all night, his criticisms growing more pointed, more personal with each passing minute. The rest of you tried to steer the conversation away, but Mark wouldn’t let it go, his words becoming sharper, crueler.
Suguru had been holding back, his calm facade cracking only slightly as he tried to keep his temper in check. But when Mark ignored him and continued with his relentless criticisms, something inside Suguru snapped.
In an instant, he moved. With a swift, fluid motion, Suguru swung his beer bottle, the action so smooth it was almost graceful. The bottle connected with Mark’s face with a sharp crack. The impact was immediate and satisfying, sending Mark stumbling backward as beer splashed across the floor, the bottle shattering in Suguru’s hand.
The room fell into stunned silence.
“Goddamn it, Suguru!” Shoko’s voice was the first to break the quiet, a mix of shock and exasperation. She stepped forward, ready to pull Suguru back if needed, though there was a slight smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. “Couldn’t you have at least waited until he finished his drink?”
Nanami, who had been lounging in the corner, raised an eyebrow but didn’t move from his spot. “Well, that escalated quickly.”
Shoko sighed deeply, looking around. “I’ll call someone to clean this up. And maybe get some ice for Mark.”
Mark, clutching his face where Suguru had punched him, looked up in stunned disbelief. “What the hell, man? You’re crazy!”
Suguru’s eyes were cold as he glared down at him. “No. I’m done listening to your crap. You should’ve known when to shut up.”
“You all are a bunch of crazy freaks! Especially that bitch!”
“You don’t get to talk about them like that!” Suguru said, his voice steady but filled with a cold edge. “Not on my watch.”
Mark looked up at him, a mix of pain and surprise in his eyes. He didn’t say anything, just backed away slowly, still holding his nose. Yu came between them. “Hey, hey. Let’s all calm down, okay?”
Suguru turned on his heel and walked away, heading outside to cool down. He needed some fresh air and space to collect his thoughts. You, having witnessed the altercation from a distance, rushed over to Suguru, concern etched on your face.
You spotted Suguru standing alone in the hallway, his gaze distant as he tried to calm down from the confrontation. Determined to get some answers, you made a beeline for him, your concern and curiosity palpable.
“Suguru, what happened back there?” you asked, trying to piece together the events of the night. “Why did you hit Mark?”
Suguru glanced at you, his expression a mix of embarrassment and frustration. “It was nothing. He just… he crossed a line.”
“No,” you said, putting the pieces together with a sudden burst of realization. “He called me a bitch, didn’t he? That’s why you hit him. You hit him for me!”
Suguru looked away, his cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. “No, that’s not—”
“Yes, it is!” you interrupted, your excitement and relief bubbling over. “I know I can be a lot sometimes, and I am a bitch! But you actually care about me. You love me, don’t you?”
Suguru’s face turned a deeper shade of red, and he mumbled, “No…I didn’t…”
Suguru’s thoughts were still a whirlwind, his mind racing to process the events of the night and the emotions that came with them. He needed to clear his head, and talking to Gojo seemed like the quickest way to do that. He excused himself and quickly went back inside. As he entered the kitchen, the room was a stark contrast to the chaos outside—bright, warm, and filled with the comforting aroma of Gojo Satoru’s sandwich-making.
Gojo stood by the counter, casually assembling a towering sandwich with practiced ease. His movements were relaxed and carefree, a stark contrast to the tension that Suguru was radiating. He glanced up, taking in the scene with a curious, slightly amused expression.
“What’s going on, man?” Gojo asked, his tone light as he continued to layer on the ingredients. “I heard there was a bit of a commotion.”
Suguru tried to compose himself, but the frustration was evident in his voice. “Mark was being a complete jerk. He was bad-mouthing them, and I… I lost my temper.”
Gojo raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. “He was talking about them? What did he say?”
Suguru’s jaw clenched as he recounted the encounter. “He kept going on about how they are a handful and how they’re exhausting. He was just being really disrespectful. Even called them a bitch, mind you!”
Gojo’s eyebrows knitted together in surprise. “And you punched him for it?”
Suguru nodded, his gaze intense. “Yeah, I did. He wouldn’t stop, and I just couldn’t let him keep talking like that.”
Gojo’s expression shifted from amusement to genuine concern. “Are they okay?”
Suguru’s frustration softened a bit as he considered your well-being. “They’re fine. I mean, they did seem surprised, maybe in some way upset, I don’t know. But they’re okay. It’s just… I don’t like seeing them being talked about like that.”
Gojo’s eyes sparkled with a mix of mischief and understanding. “So, you’re defending them, huh?”
Suguru’s face flushed slightly, and he rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s not just about defending them. It’s just—”
Gojo looked up from his sandwich-making with a raised eyebrow. “Yeah, but is your lover okay?”
Suguru froze, caught off guard. “They are not my lover, Gojo.” he snapped, defensively. “They are just—”
Gojo’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Oh? Then why’d you hit him? Seems like you’re more concerned than you’re letting on.”
Suguru glared at Gojo. “I’m not concerned, I just—”
“Uh–uhuh, keep talking.”
“I’m just some friend—acquaintance. Worried.” Suguru narrowed his eyes. “Seriously, Satoru. I don’t know what you’re going on about. If I'm in love with them, shoot me.”
Without missing a beat, Gojo grinned, “Bang.” He made a playful gun gesture with his hand and gave Suguru a wide grin. “Cupid’s bullets confirm!”
Suguru stared at him, dumbfounded. “Are you serious? This is not—”
Gojo laughed, clearly enjoying the confusion. “Just kidding, Suguru. You know I’m just messing with you.”
Suguru sighed heavily, his frustration giving way to a reluctant chuckle. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
Gojo shrugged, still grinning. “Just having a bit of fun. But seriously, if you need to talk or if something’s going on, I’m here. Just don’t let things like this get you too worked up.”
Suguru nodded, a mix of relief and embarrassment on his face. “Thanks, Gojo. I guess I needed that.”
With a final, reassuring pat on Suguru’s shoulder, Gojo returned to his sandwich-making. He took a deep breath and went back outside. You were talking with Shoko when you noticed Suguru come back outside towards your way. You were about to speak when Suguru turned back to you. There was a softer, more earnest look in his eyes as he met your gaze.
He looked at you with a determination, his voice steady but kind. “Take your coat, doll.” he said, offering it to you. “We’re getting out of here.”
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sudden decision but relieved by the prospect of escaping the party. Without protest, you slipped on your coat and followed him out into the cool night air. The contrast between the cold outside and the warmth of the party was a welcome change, the crisp air a refreshing balm against your senses.
As you walked to the parking lot, Suguru’s silence was a comforting presence. His demeanor was calm and purposeful, a stark contrast to the turbulence of the evening. He led you to his car, and you both got in, the engine’s hum a soothing sound against the backdrop of the night.
Soon enough, you found yourselves parked in the lot of a nearby fast-food chain. The neon lights of the restaurant flickered against the dark sky, casting an almost surreal glow over the scene. It felt like a world away from the party, a simple, unpretentious refuge.
Suguru ordered a handful of burgers and fries, his movements deliberate and focused. You followed suit, choosing your favorites with a sense of familiarity. As you both settled on the hood of the car, the comfort of the fast food and the tranquility of the night began to ease the tension.
You took a bite of your burger, the flavors surprisingly comforting. Despite the simplicity of the setting, there was something deeply satisfying about the moment. “This is the best date ever.” you said with a grin, the warmth of the food and Suguru’s presence making the night feel a little brighter.
Suguru looked at you, a bemused expression on his face. “We haven’t talked in half an hour.”
“That doesn’t matter,” you said, shaking your head. “It’s nice just being with you, even if this doesn’t seem like much.”
Suguru looked away, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “It’s not as bad as going bowling.”
You blinked, puzzled. “Bowling? I didn’t know you liked bowling.”
He shrugged, leaning back against the car. “I do. It’s something I enjoy, and being with you is kind of like that—enjoyable and relaxing, even if it’s not always fancy.”
You tilted your head, contemplating his words. Then, feeling bold, you leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Suguru’s eyes widened slightly, but he responded, kissing you back with a tenderness that melted away any remaining tension.
When you finally parted, you looked up at him, a soft smile on your lips. “Not too bad?”
Suguru’s gaze softened as he met your eyes, a genuine smile spreading across his face. “Not too bad.” he agreed, his voice warm.
You both shared a comfortable silence, the world outside the fast-food restaurant feeling a million miles away. As you finished your burgers and settled back into a peaceful quiet, you knew that despite everything, moments like these were what mattered most.
You and Suguru remained on the car hood, finishing off the last of your burgers. The night was crisp and clear, the occasional hum of passing cars providing a steady backdrop to your conversation.
“So, what’s your favorite part about bowling?” you asked, genuinely curious and trying to keep the mood light.
Suguru chuckled, a soft sound that warmed the chilly air. “It’s the combination of skill and luck, I guess. Plus, it’s fun to just throw the ball and watch it knock down the pins. It’s simple, but satisfying.”
You smiled, enjoying his enthusiasm. “Maybe we should go bowling sometime. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun.”
Suguru’s eyes twinkled as he looked at you. “I’d like that. I think you’d be pretty good at it. You’ve got a good arm from throwing those frisbees around at the park.”
You laughed, leaning into him. “You think so? I’ll hold you to that.”
Suguru wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer. “It’s a promise.”
The warmth of his embrace was comforting, and you snuggled closer, resting your head on his shoulder. The night was quiet, and for a while, you just enjoyed the peacefulness of the moment.
Suguru glanced at you, his expression softening even further. “You know, despite everything that happened tonight, I’m really glad we ended up here. I like these moments with you. They remind me of why I care so much.”
You tilted your head up to look at him, your eyes reflecting the soft glow of the streetlights. “Me too, Suguru. It’s the simple things, like eating burgers and talking about bowling, that make me realize how much I enjoy being with you.”
Suguru gave a small, affectionate smile, his fingers gently brushing against your cheek. “Sometimes, it’s the simple things that mean the most.”
You sighed contentedly, feeling a deep sense of connection. “I guess that’s true. And, even though tonight didn’t go as planned, it ended up being pretty perfect in its own way.”
Suguru chuckled softly, his gaze fixed on you. “Yeah, it did.”
You both sat there for a while longer, sharing soft kisses and quiet laughter, savoring the simplicity of the moment. The night air was cool, but the warmth between you made it feel like the coziest place in the world.
Eventually, Suguru shifted slightly, pulling you closer as he gave you a tender kiss on the forehead. “Let’s head back. I think we’ve had enough excitement for one night.”
You nodded, standing up and stretching as Suguru helped you off the car hood. “Sounds good. But we definitely need to plan that bowling trip soon.”
Suguru laughed, offering you his hand. “It’s a date.”
As you walked back to the car, hand in hand, the night seemed a little brighter, and the world a little warmer. The small, spontaneous moments were what made your time together truly special, and you both knew that, no matter what, you’d always find a way to cherish them.

the song “diet pepsi” by addison rae is lowkey my guilty pleasure 😔 but maybe you can write something with art inspired by the lyrics :3
“when we drive in your car, i’m your baby/ losing all my innocence in the backseat”
diet pepsi (art donaldson x fem! reader)
my boys a winner, he loves the game/my lips reflect off his cross-gold chain
youre not ashamed, you know art can see you leaning forward in your seat, even wearing sunglasses he can tell that your eyes linger on his v-line when he lifts up his shirt to wipe his face. he doesn't mind it though, how could he complain about his gorgeous girlfriend oogling him from the stands. arts head always whips toward you when he wins, looking for a wide smile on your face. the moment he steps off the court you're jumping into his arms, letting him twirl you around and kiss you passionately, letting the adrenaline do the talking for him.
i like the way he's telling me/my ass looks good in these ripped blue jeans
arts a sucker for you. if anyone asked him what his weakness is he'd respond quickly with "my girlfriend". you always have to hold back your giggles when his mouth drops open as you step out of your apartment for your date, the fabric of your blue jeans hugging your curves just right. he snaps out of his stupor to open the car door for you, placing his usual hand on your thigh as he drives. before you enter the restaurant he'd chosen for your date, he leans down to whisper in your ear " your ass looks good in those jeans"
my cheeks are red like berries in spring/bodies a work of art you'd diet to see
you blush, your face heating up as you sit down at your table for dinner, the red of your cheeks visible even in the low light of the restaurant. art almost doesn't even have the mental capacity to order food, his eyes stuck on the way your skin glimmers from the candlelight, longing to reach out and touch you.
untouched, xo/young lust, lets- (ah)
most people would make fun of art for how hard he's fallen for you, saying that he doesn't know what love is, he's only in his first year of college, but he disagrees, the love he feels for you rivals anything he's ever seen in a romance movie. you bring him back to reality by holding his hand over the table, squeezing it lightly. "you wanna get out of here?" art asks, and you giggle, sensing his eagerness to be near you once again, not seperated by a stupid dinner table. art pays for the meal, leading you out of the restaurant with a hand on the small of your back.
when we drive in your car, im your baby (so sweet)/losing all my innocence in the backseat
the parking lot is empty when you get there, thank goodness, although you doubt that anyone could see in through the foggy windows, but they could probably tell what was going on by the rocking of the car. arts hips pressed against yours, his feet planted on the floor of the car, balancing you on his lap. his slender fingers hiking up your dress, the warm palms of his hands pressed against your hips, almost as warm and comforting as his lips on yours. your head tips back onto the headrest, allowing him access to the panes of your neck, the soft skin making him lick his lips in anticipation. he hopes the marks he leaves behind will stay, scaring off admirers so he can keep you all to himself. art almost feels bad, seeing you squeeze your eyes closed in pain when he presses the flared tip of his cock into you. the way you always have a hard time taking him makes him feel like his taking your innocence, like your body is trying to stay pure. nevertheless, he's in love with you, and the way you always suck him right inside, squeezing so tight that it's hard for him to pull out. he's so sweet though, rocking your hips for you, cooing sweet nothings into your ear, encouraging you that no ones gonna see you, the parking lots empty. art would never admit it to himself, he's not a slut like patrick, but he can't deny the twitch of his cock when he thinks that anyone could find you here, and figure out what he was doing, the cute tennis player, always lagging behind his friends and not speaking unless spoken to, is fucking his girlfriend in the backseat of his jeep. when art cums, he makes sure that you pull your panties up right away, "i want to keep being inside you" he says, as if he could feel your pussy while not being inside you, just because his cum is there. when he drops you off at your place, he takes great pride in seeing a drop of white running between your thighs.. maybe he's more like patrick than he thought.. <3

Would it be ok to request Vox with an affectionate s/o?
More than okay, nonnie! I’ve been getting so many requests bro, literally every time I post one, I get like 2 more in its place. IM LIVING FOR IT, KEEP IT COMING YALL! But also plz be patient with me 🥺 been waiting for a request for my flat-faced prince. Tbh the first time I watched Hazbin, my immediate reaction to Vox was ‘OH NO HES HOT!!!’ So, enjoy these headcanons 😘
Notes: gn!reader, maybe a little ooc Vox?
Vox x reader- Affection 💋
Also oh my fucking godddddd the vest, him in a vest. I need more Vox in a vest PRONTO…🥵
Okay so like…bro is more dirty minded.
He’s genuinely confused when you kiss his cheek or hold his hand like ???
Oh….you’re not just trying to fuck him and get famous?
Cuteee~
Sure, he’s fucked and made out with ppl and probably done some other crazy shit but his experience with sappy romance and affection like you show him is very limited.
He’s pretty dense, he’s got a tough shell and doesn’t really understand love languages and stuff like that.
His love language is most definitely gift giving and I just know he’s terrible at actually showing his feeling through words or romantic gestures or physical affection.
It’s usually just like “Hey! I love ya! I got you this.” *insert item you’d flip your lid over*
At least he’s a good gift giver! He really does try to give you cool stuff he knows you’ll like but he’s still learning how to actually speak about his feelings and show it physically.
He tries to match your energy the best he can
Get him gifts!!! Plz he loves homemade gifts too- gift him art, sing him an original song, sew him something, whatever your skills or talents may be, use them and he’ll adore it and also praise tf out of you
You took time to make this just for him? ‘Marry me’
Besides fucking around with Val, Vox doesn’t get much affection so he very quickly falls in love with all the sweet affectionate touches you frequently show him.
It’s all so different than Val, so sensitive and genuine. It really makes him swoon~
Melts when you kiss the corners of his screen- there’s something about non mouth kisses that really gets to him
He gets a huge dorky love stuck grin when you sit in his lap and hug him close, also hugs you back super tight
Absolutely loves kissing you and then noticing the lingering smudges/lipstick marks on his screen later
Fix his bow tie while giving him a sneaky wink in front of his crew and he’ll huff and look away while trying to hold back a smile
Invites you on his nightly broadcast as a guest one time and quickly learned how embarrassed he becomes when you flirt and call him pet names on live TV in front of tons of viewers
After only 10 minutes of talking, giggling and giving him bedroom eyes, Vox was struggling to maintain his composure- you’re so fucking cute.
All you had to do was laugh loudly at one of his crude jokes about Alastor and call him your “honey bunny” and suddenly the entire V tower lost power.
Poor man literally short circuits over your darling voice calling him such soft names- he’s so down bad for you he can’t even hide it
Val and Velvette have that specific episode downloaded and saved to every device they own bc there’s no way they are letting this go, he’s never living this down
If you pause the video right before it cuts out, just before the power goes out, Vox has literal hearts for eyes and his entire screen briefly becomes this bright blushy pink color- that’s a color no one has ever seen on him
Just keep doing your thing, you little hopeless romantic, and you’ll see that color more often.
But Vox might have to leave you at home when filming bc he can’t control himself around you sometimes and you obviously can’t either 🖤

im the anon from earlier lol
can i request a yandere gilbert blythe where it's his and the readers' wedding day? and then maybe including at the end them "cuddling" in bed together but it's really him holding her tightly whispering about some future together while she cries
sorry if that's a little morbid, i just thought it'd be a cool part two to the first one you posted
Arranged Pt 2
Yandere Gilbert Blythe x reader
I only write sfw, feel free to make requests. Thank you for asking!! Kinda short and not proof read. Enjoy :)
I love you..." his voice rings in your ears.
"You're so beautiful..." his words make your skin crawl.
"Are you listening?" You have no choice.
From the moment your mother made you let him in to the note on the school board to shuffling down the isle this morning, you were miserable.
Possibly the only enjoyable part of this was seeing how proud your mother was the whole way through. She had fixed up her old wedding dress and fitted it to you. She made you up like a doll for the ceremony. And as your father walked you down the isle you could see tears falling from her eyes. He was so happy. It would have been discomforting if you had thought too much into it though.
Gilbert stared in astonishment as you walked down the aisle in the church. When you arrived at the altar you wanted so badly to repeat the same actions as Prissy had. Run out of the church and into the field. But you couldn't bring yourself to do it.
After the ceremony the reception was held. Your family and friends all told stories of both you and Gilbert- which were very much exaggerated for the occasion.
Anne had written a poem, Josey made a few snide comments, Ruby talked up every interaction you'd had with Gilbert as if she hadn't been in love with him just a year ago.
It all made you so sick that you couldn't even swallow your food.
Finally you were here. In Gilbert's home. Bash in the room next door caring for his baby, and Gilbert hugging you from behind, his face in the crook of your neck.
"Are you listening Y/N?" He repeats, giving your body a small squeeze. You nod, tears sliding down your cheeks and over your nose. "I'm sorry..." he takes a deep breath.
"For what?" You ask, knowing the answer. He'd done this countless of times in the last few months. Apologizing but never changing.
"I want you to be happy..." you don't respond. It's easier to tune him out. "I'm aware you didn't want thus marriage..." you've fought him every step of the way on this. "So I'm sorry for forcing this onto you..." he's not sorry. He's quite right happy with himself. "But I do love you." The tears begin streaming down your face. "and I'll make sure you're happy. We can have a happy little family- if you want!" He stutters a bit. "We don't have to have kids if you don't want any. It's up to you." He thinks for a second. "It could just be us- and Bash and Delphine, of course."
This isn't love, to you. It's possession. It's kidnapping. It's grotesque and disgusting. Love is supposed to be flowery and sweet.
Maybe you could've had a real romance if Gilbert had approached you correctly; Walked up to you in class, talked to you about your day, invited you over for a nice meal and took your wants and needs into consideration. But that's not what he did. He went to your parents, who gave him his guaranteed spouse. It was as if nothing you thought or felt mattered.
"I love you, Y/N..." he leans over and kisses you on the cheek. "You don't have to say it back." Then reaches over and blows out the candle.
You rub your eyes dry and your cheek raw.

COME OVER AND LOVE ME
basketball player!taehyun x fem reader
genre: best friends to lovers, slight idiots to lovers, fluff, slight angst
word count: 5.2k
summary: after mulling over taehyun for years, am oppurtunity to confess your feelings presents itself, but things take a bad turn
warnings: kissing?, mature language, beomgyu's kinda a menace, real teenage romance movie vibes, not rlly proofread
notes: for my bestie @bluetyunhour ,, <3 also my first time ever actually posting a fanfic,, im scared lol
♫: playlist
you loved taehyun.
he was your best friend, and had been your best friend for as long as you could remember. he was your comfort, your safe space, and just an amazing person.
your wide-eyed, curious best friend.
you weren’t aware when- but your feelings for him changed. all of a sudden, he wasn’t just your best friend, he was someone you wanted to be something more with.
maybe it was when he joined the basketball team sophomore year. noticing just how fit your best friend really was.
you would catch yourself blushing when he said something, blood rushing into your cheeks at his little comments. mundane classes were now filled with excitement simply because he was there.
you didn’t know if he had notices the change/ you hoped he hadn’t noticed the change. the last thing you wanted to do was ruin your friendship with taehyun because you couldn’t control the way your heart felt.
you tried desperately to push all the feelings down, trying your hardest to not let taehyun’s heart-stopping antics effect you.
it seemed as though it was all in vain. no matter how hard you pushed, buried, drowned your feelings out- they just because stronger.
you had tried to distance yourself, telling taehyun you were “too busy” or had “too much homework”. little excuses that were believable!
taehyun was too nice though. moving his schedule around so he could make time to hang out with you, even skipping practice one day so he could stay in your house and watch a movie sprawled out on the couch with you.
you had no escape from him, and although you were desperately trying to find an escape from being near him so often, being suffocated by his presence everywhere you went because everything reminded you of him- you knew you couldn’t be without him.
you desiderated to be with him. you wanted nothing more than to call him yours.
-
“you’re gonna be rooting for me tonight, yeah?”, taehyun’s voice sounded behind you, making you jump slightly from his sudden appearance.
“of course i am, what kind of best friend would i be if i didn’t?”, you spun around to look at him, trying to keep a calm composure as you took in his outfit.
his black hair framed his face perfectly, a white polo adorning his top, with a navy blue crewneck overtop, khaki shorts on, showing off his long legs.
he knew how to style himself, and you knew he knew he looked good. he smiled softly at you, before stepping forward and pulling you into a hug.
he breathed out a sigh, his chin resting on the top of your head, “what would i do without you?”
you felt suffocated. everything about him was suffocating. his cologne was filling your senses, his strong arms holding you against him.
“you’d die without me, obviously.”
you felt his laugh rumble in his chest, his telltale giggle leaving his lips. he moved his head back to look down at you, everything felt entirely too intimate for you.
“y/n…”, his voice trailed off a bit, eyebrows furrowing a bit as he looked like he was trying to collect the words he wanted to use in his mind.
“yes?”
“do you maybe want-“
“taehyun!”
a voice coming from the entrance made both your beads turn, taking the chance to untangle yourself from taehyun’s arms, smiling awkwardly at beomgyu, who had walked in.
“i’m gonna go, i’ll see you guys later?”, you excused yourself quietly, waving at the two boys before heading out of the room, not missing the way beomgyu sent you a sly smile, feeling as though a brick was lifted off your chest the second you made it out.
you could only yearn for taehyun from the sidelines of your heart, never fully being able to tell him just how you felt, never even being able to hint at it, holding all your love and admiration for him in a special place in your heart, keeping it protected so you could never be let down.
over time, you feared your facade was breaking down, your love for taehyun shining through for your best friend's eyes, but never for his. it was as though it was invisible to him, something everyone could see but him.
maybe you were doing something wrong. no- maybe there was just something wrong with you. who falls in love with their best friend? who lets themself dangerously tiptoe between the lines of friendship and lover, lines that were blurred to no one else but you.
you threw your head back with a groan, fighting the frustrated tears that threatened to spill from your eyes, overflowing with yet another wave of regret as you grumbled to yourself while walking away, probably looking like a psycho to anyone else.
-
you watched taehyun run with his teammates, captivating your view as he was the only thing visible in your line of sight.
you heard the cheers, you heard the claps, you heard the whistles, you heard everything. you saw everything. but at the same time- you didn’t.
whenever taehyun was on the court, immersing himself in the game, losing himself in the thrill of it all, the cheers that pushed him, motivated him, he was captivating to you.
the way he smiled brightly when they scored, pearly eyes glistening as he celebrated with him teammates, yelling an exclamation that had a large smile pulling itself on your lips as you clapped and cheered with the crowd, exclaiming for the man you loved.
the game continued on slowly, when the opposing team would score, your team would score, it was a race to the end, and neither team was backing down.
you knew why this game was so important. it was the pre-qualifiers for tournaments, and getting to those meant big things- obviously.
you were stressed, to put it simply. you found it funny sometimes, how you had never been a fan of basketball, never payed it any mind, never growing an interest in it- or any sports- in the slightest.
that was until taehyun started playing.
he would meet you after practice, telling you everything that went down, how he dunked perfectly, how he scored perfectly from the center of the court!
you nodded along every time, pretending to understand the words and rules that were coming out of his mouth.
it sounded like simlish to you.
taehyun must’ve caught on to this at some point, because soon he was begging you to just watch one NBA game with him.
“pleeease, y/n. just one, i just want you to be able to understand.”, he whined, pulling on your arm as you stared up at him exasperatedly.
“why are you so adamant about this? it’s not like i’m the one playing!”
“well, yeah,”, he looked a bit dejected, “but i want my favorite person to know what i’m doing when she comes to my games.”
your breath caught in your throat as your eyes widened slightly, not having enough time to control your reactions as his words hit you.
“well- i- i mean, sure. yeah. i could watch like… one game.”, your words stumbled out of your mouth, your brain had completely shut down, words spilling out like an avalanche as you attempted- and failed- to regain your composure and not look like you were seconds away from ripping your hair out of your head.
he sent you a sly smile, seemingly aware of the effect he had on you. little shit. why were you even friends with him?
he pinched your check, muttering something about you being cute before sauntering off to your couch, “thank you! i’ll put on one of my favorite games!”
rolling your eyes, you realized you had once again fallen victim to your overwhelming feelings for taehyun, giving into anything he wanted because how could you ever say no to him?
and so you sat with him, listening as he explained what the referees were calling out, pausing the television every few minutes to go in depth on a subject, hands flying around and such a serious expression on his face, you almost got distracted by him before you had to catch yourself.
but the more he ranted, the more you realized that seeing him ramble on and on about something he was so passionate about was something you wanted to see more of. so, you let him play another game, and another… and another.
over time, you slowly realized that you were becoming interested in basketball. whether it was genuine interest, or you gaslighting yourself to be interested because of taehyun’s love, you weren’t sure.
but you learned all the rules.
every time taehyun had free time, he would come over and watch a new game with you, chips and drinks surrounding you two as you immersed yourselves in the television, face scrunching up when something unfortunate happened.
it got to a point where you caught yourself complaining out loud when they called a foul, eyes rolling and asking taehyun, are they serious, before angrily stuffing chips into your mouth.
and soon you were jumping up with him when the team you were rooting for won, exclaiming with him as you did your little happy dance in the living room, never once stopping to question how stupidly uncoordinated you looked.
then you were at his practices, you were bringing him lunch, you were watching him play. you became close with his teammates, learning all their names, and even know as he played in college and roomed with 4 of his teammates who you had grown close with, you were still going to his practices when you had time. it was a routine.
basketball had grown to be something you loved, and enjoyed. and you had taehyun to thank for all of it.
a yell tore you out of your daydreaming, zoning back in on the game as you realized the game was about to end, and taehyun’s team needed to score this point to win the game.
you let your elbows rest on your knees as you leaned forward, concentration etched on your face as you watched the ball travel back and forth between players, the loud squeaks of shoes rubbing against the gym floor slightly causing your eyes to twitch, but you stayed focused.
players on the opposing team were starting to become restless, and you picked up on that, noticing taehyun did as well, his eyes zoning in on the ball as he grounded himself to watch where the ball was going next before he leapt into action.
he weaved through the players easily, dodging hands and bodies that tried to block him, easily swiping the ball from underneath another player, holding onto the ball as he spun away from the man before letting the ball drop to the ground again as he dribbled it easily, making his way to the middle of the court.
you watched as he closed his eyes for a quick second, eyebrows furrowing as he pushed breath out his lips. you noticed it was a habit he had picked up, when he was getting ready to shoot, and he was concentrated, he made that face. you found it endearing.
with 5 seconds left on the clock, his eyes opened back up, a dark gaze in them as he zoned in on the basket. his arms lifted up, his fingers gliding off the ball easily as he shot it into the air, watching as it rolled through the air, landing in the basket and scoring a point easily.
the room erupted with cheers as you realized taehyun had won the game. he had made the winning shot. he was going to the tournaments.
you couldn’t hold back the yell that escaped your throat as you screamed for him, watching as his head turned towards your voice, before he was running straight to you with a wide, confident smile on his face.
“did you see what i did?”, he practically yelled over the cheers, arms pulling you into his embrace before quickly pulling back, hands coming up to hold onto the sides of your face.
you breath caught in your throat, a warmth spreading across your whole body, “yes! you were amazing!”
he stared at you for a second, not saying anything. there was once again the expression you couldn’t read on his face, his brows furrowing the tiniest bit.
you didn’t have time to think about it too much though, because as you opened your mouth to say something, you felt a pair of soft lips press against yours.
a small gasp left your lips, your whole body melting into taehyun’s touch and kissing him back before you even processed what you were doing.
his lips moved against yours perfectly, soft lips enveloping your own as his hands caressed your face, his touch featherlight, but somehow still holding you in place.
he pulled away slowly, pressing his forehead against your own as heavy breaths escaped the both of you.
you didn’t know what had just happened. your brain was going blank, thoughts seemingly disappearing into this air as you tried to recollect yourself, tried to make any sense over what had just happened.
your eyes fluttered open, staring into taehyun’s eyes, not knowing exactly what to say. a dark red blush covered his cheeks, and he carefully removed his hands from your face and pulled his face away from yours, reality slowly hitting the both of you.
i.. i don’t know why i did that.”
oh.
did he regret it?
you didn’t know what to say. your felt as though your mouth had gone dry, eyes blinking haphazardly and mouth stuttering open and closed.
“oh..”, was all that you were able to get out.
taehyun opened his mouth to speak again, but before he could get any words out, soobin was clapping him on the back, thanking him for winning and doing so well for the team.
“hey, y/n!”, he greeted you quickly, before his eyes were quickly fleeting back to taehyun.
you didn’t have it in you to reply at the moment.
you watched as taehyun was dragged away, eyes holding contact with yours for as long as he could until bodies were blocking his view from you, turning him around, speaking to him, thanking him, things he should’ve wanted to hear.
but he didn’t.
he didn’t want to hear those things right now.
he wanted to speak to you, he wanted to be able to tell you it wasn’t a mistake, he knew why he kissed you. he kissed you because he was in love with you. truly, madly, deeply in love with you in such an irrevocable way he couldn’t change it even if he tried.
but as he desperately looked at the spot where you were standing seconds ago, he saw no one, the ghost of the incident that had happened between you two seconds ago replaying in your mind.
you tried to hold back your tears as you stumbled through the doors of the gym, not knowing what to do or think or feel or..
you were overstimulated, wanting everything to slow down and speed up at the same time.
finally, the flood of tears you were holding back broke, tears streaming down your face freely as you tried to make your way to your car as quickly as you could, not wanting anyone to see or hear the way ugly sobs were leaving your mouth.
you didn’t know why taehyun had kissed you.
you thought for a second he felt the same way as you, maybe he was as deeply in love with you as you were with him!
but the way he looked after, the expression on his face, the words that left his mouth..
you felt stupid.
you felt stupid. there was no other words to describe how you felt. foolish. you were foolish for thinking that way for even a second.
and as you climbed into your car, a whole new wave of emotions hit you as more sobs wrecked your body, letting your head hit the steering wheel as regret coursed through your veins.
what had you done?
-
you were a wreck.
you hadn’t called taehyun in two days, hadn’t texted him, you hadn’t even been going to school for the sole fear of running into him.
your friends had noticed your absence, knowing that something like this was not part of the norm for you, so you had been getting bombarded with messages asking if you were okay, if you were feeling sick, if you needed someone to talk to.
you replied with a simple “i’m fine<3” every time. because how lame would you seem if you told them you had fallen into some type of depression because you had kissed your best friend?
there was something so delicate about your and taehyun’s friendship now, and you were scared that if you messed with it in the slightest, it would rip. and you couldn’t risk losing your best friend.
but what if by not talking to him you were losing him?
what if you talked to him and lost him that way?
too many negative thoughts were swirling in your mind like a hurricane ravishing a town, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.
perhaps it was time to just… watch netflix while cuddled in your favorite blanket, blocking out the rest of the world and all your worries.
yeah, that sounded really nice right about now.
-
taehyun had been anxiously checking his phone nonstop for the past two days.
debating whether he should text you first, or wait for you to reach out first.
he was in such a dilemma, he didn’t know what to do to solve this.
actually, the answer was simple. but was he ever actually going to confess to you?
that’s funny.
the boys didn’t want to say anything the first day, brushing it off as them looking too deeply into things.
but this was not how taehyun acted normally. no, he carried himself so confidently. he knew what he wanted. he didn’t back down. this taehyun they had seem moping around the dorm, school, and even practice- a place where all his worries usually disappeared- was not the taehyun they knew.
“hey, taehyun," yeonjun called, taking the spot next to him on the couch, “have you been feeling alright lately?”
taehyun’s head jerked up, a bit of confusion painting his face as he stared at his older friend, “yeah, i’ve been fine. why?”
“you just haven’t been acting like your normal self lately. wanted to make sure everything was alright.”, yeonjun explained, sending a small smile taehyun’s way before getting ready to move on with his day after being reassured taehyun was indeed okay.
while standing up from the couch, he felt a slight tug on his shirt and turned around to see taehyun lightly grabbing onto his shirt, a conflicted look in his eyes.
“taehyun,” he sat down once again, giving his full attention to him, “what’s going on?”
he stayed quiet for a bit, obviously not knowing how to approach this conversation in any way.
“are you done watching tv? i wanna play my game.”, beomgyu’s voice echoed down the hall, bouncing into the living room without a care in the world.
“beomgyu, just wait a second, alright?”, yeonjun asked him, and beomgyu immediately noticed how yeonjun was in his “big serious brother mode”- a name the boys had made for when he got like this- and slowly walked over to the couch, taking a seat near taehyun.
“continue, taehyun.”
taehyun shook his head lightly, “i don’t even know where to start.”
“well, just try and explain it. i’ll wait.”, yeonjun reassured him, and taehyun was grateful to have such caring friends for a second.
“imightvekissedy/natthebasketballgametwodaysagoandnowidontknowwhattodo.”
yeonjun’s head visibly shot back from the speed of which the words were thrown at him, not even being able to pick out a few.
beomgyu’s voice filled the silence, “what the fuck did you just say?”
“slow down your words, tae.”
“okay,” he took a deep breath before clearing his throat, “i kissed y/n at the basketball game two days ago when we won because i was excited and now i don’t know what to do, i’m afraid i ruined our friendship. i told her i didn’t know why i kissed her and didn’t say anything else”
silence.
no one said anything for a solid five seconds, if you listened closely enough you would probably be able to hear the neighbors next door.
taehyun said nothing as he stared at yeonjun awaiting his reaction, for him to say something, anything, but all he was getting was a dumbfounded look in return.
then beomgyu’s laugh filled the room, loud and boisterous as he smacked taehyun on his back, hard enough to make taehyun spin around with an exasperated look.
“dude, are you fucking stupid?”, beomgyu exclaimed after calming himself down, smiling at taehyun.
“this isn’t funny, beomgyu. i seriously don’t want to lose her!”, taehyun sighed, letting his head rest in his hands as he took a deep breath to calm himself down.
yeonjun moved himself a bit closer to taehyun, patting his back as he tried to form his next sentence.
“look, taehyun, i’m pretty sure beomgyu’s not laughing to make fun of you, it’s just-“, he started, before being rudely cut off.
“she’s been in love with you for years!”
taehyun’s head shot up at the sound of that, staring at beomgyu with an incredulous look.
“what?”
“i’m surprised you haven’t realized. we all know, i guess you’re the only one that didn’t.”, beomgyu continued, speaking as if this was supposed to be common knowledge to taehyun.
it sounded like some alien language to him.
you? in love with him? there’s no way he didn’t notice.
“beomgyu, you better not be fucking lying to me right now.”, taehyun spoke, brain running into overdrive.
“he’s not.”, yeonjun spoke this time, sending taehyun a reassuring smile.
“i’ve spoken to her about it before. i told her to just tell you because it wouldn’t go as badly as she was thinking. she’s honestly head over heels for you.”, he continued.
“but-“, taehyun tried to speak, before being cut off by yeonjun once again.
“and, to be quite honest, you ghosting her after randomly kissing her out of nowhere, then proceeding to tell her you didn’t know why you did… that has to be making her feel like shit, knowing how much she likes you.”, yeonjun finished. he made sure to give taehyun a disappointed dad look.
taehyun was standing up in a second, the boys not even being able to process how fast he was moving until he was pulling on his shoes by the door.
“taehyun, where’re you going?”, yeonjun asked, and instead of getting a reply, he got the door shutting in his face.
“it’s raining, taehyun get a jacket!”, beomgyu also
called out to him, but his warnings fell on dead ears as taehyun was long gone.
there was nothing but adrenaline coursing through his veins as he pushed through the heavy rain, ignoring the way the fat droplets stung his skin, feeling himself become more and more drenched with each king stride he took, already knowing he would be getting a cold from this, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care.
all he knew was that he needed to make things up to you.
if only he had picked up on the signs that were apparently obvious to everyone else, maybe you would’ve been his by now, but he was so oblivious to everything that he missed every little sign and hint you threw his way.
he pushed past people walking on the street, not even bothering to apologize as he cut people off, mind fixed on one thing and one thing only.
feet slipping on wet concrete as he caught himself from falling too many times to count at this point.
he finally made it to your apartment building, standing outside for a few seconds to catch his breath and make sure he actually knew what he was about to do.
he thought he should’ve been second guessing at least one part of this by now, but he wasn’t. not one single thing.
he stared up at the floor you lived on, mentally readying himself for whatever outcome he walked out of the building with. he just needed you to know, needed you to understand how far the extent of his feelings for you were.
he was indisputably in love with you.
-
you had to say, sitting on the couch for seven hours straight was slowly making you feel worse rather better.
you had nothing else to do though, and you refused to leave the house for reasons that were obvious to you only.
so, watching reruns of gilmore girls had become your new reality for the last couple days, curled under your favorite blanket with a snack in arms reach at all times.
it was entertaining at first, it distracted you, and it felt like the start of summer break, when you did absolutely nothing for a couple days and just savored not being in school.
at this point though, you just felt like you were rotting into the couch. your mind drifted off to your movie marathons with taehyun every once in a while, and you would have to turn off the tv and get on your phone for a bit.
it was like he followed you around everywhere. even if he wasn’t there in person, you tried to do everything you could to distract yourself, to think of anything besides him.
but your mind would always come back to him. you would find some way to relate what you were doing with him, and that would ruin your day all over again.
presently, you were watching pretty little liars, starting to venture into shows you had watched years and years ago.
you were just getting to a good scene when a knock sounded on your door.
you weren’t expecting company, confused as you stood up from the couch to slowly make your way over to the door.
god, no one needed to see you in this state, you were praying it was just a delivery guy or something.
you hadn’t ordered anything though, so that seemed implausible.
looking through your peephole, you felt as though all the air was ripped from your lungs.
taehyun was standing on the other side.
you almost didn’t open it, wanting to turn the other way and run straight for your bedroom, but you knew you were going to have to speak to him about what happened sooner or later.
he was also soaking wet, and you felt bad for him.
slowly, you opened the door, feeling meek as your eyes met his, trying to not break down on the spot.
“taehyun.. what are you doing here,” you looked him up and down, “and why are you soaking wet?”
you grabbed a hold of his forearm so you could pull him inside, immediately setting him down on the couch as you began to trudge off to your room to grab him clothes he had left the last time he was here.
you were trying so hard to hold yourself together right now.
reaching into your closet to grab his clothes, you heard footsteps approach from behind you.
“y/n.”
you didn’t turn to face him, instead keeping your eyes trained ahead, refusing to let yourself break.
“you can just listen, that’s fine.”
you heard a quiet sigh, before he began speaking again.
“i.. i know i messed up a few days ago. honestly, i don’t know what was going through my head. i mean, i do know. i wanted to kiss you. i really like you, i mean, i honestly think i’m in love with you but- i just, that wasn’t the right time to act on my feelings for you. and i was in shock about what i did so i just.. i said i didn't know why i did it. i do know. i did it because i’m in love with you, and i don’t know if you feel the same way, beomgyu told me you did which is why i ran all the way over here but-“
“taehyun.”
you had turned around while he was mid rant, and he didn’t even realize, looking at the ground while he talked, fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, and his own hands. he was obviously incredibly nervous.
“hm?”, his voice was meek, eyes meeting yours once again.
“i’m in love with you, too. i have been for years.”, you replied quietly, a small smile on your lips, watching the way his eyes lit up at your sentence.
he took two quick steps towards you before his lips were on yours once again.
hands pressed on either side of your face, holding you like you would disappear if he let go.
there was so much emotion, so many more feelings than you thought could be exchanged through a simple kiss.
his lips molded with yours perfectly, moving against you in a way that made you feel complete. you were once again completely surrounded by him, but you enjoyed it this time.
you felt like you were on cloud nine, your hands sliding all over his arms, trying to find some way to ground yourself.
very carefully, you felt his tongue prod at your lips, and your mouth was opening before you knew what you were doing.
mouths working together in such a love-filled way, you let all your inhibitions go, completely falling into this new feeling, and letting yourself be fully surrounded by it.
was this what people meant when they talked about a true love’s kiss?
the only reason you pulled away was due to your lungs starting to burn from the lack of oxygen, keeping your eyes closed as you caught your breath.
“so pretty..”, you heard taehyun whisper, and you couldn’t fight the shy smile that formed on your lips.
your eyes fluttered open softly, letting out a quiet giggle once you met his eyes, head leaning into the crook of his neck as your hands circled his waist, holding him so close to you.
a laugh erupted from his lips at your action, “god, you’re so cute.”
this is what true love felt like. you knew it then and there. this is what all the characters in romance movies talk about, this is the feeling they try to convey. you understood it now. and it felt amazing.
you pulled away to look at him, “so, we’re like.. dating now right?”
another small chuckle left his lips.
“well, y/n, do you want to be my girlfriend?”, he asked dramatically, taking on the voice of a prince after saving the princess.
it was your turn to burst into laughter, slapping his chest lightly and rolling your eyes.
“you’re supposed to take a moment like this seriously! but yes, i do want to be your girlfriend.”
“good, because there was no way i was letting you go.”, he confessed quietly, a hand coming to hold your face as his thumb stroked your cheek.
you leaned up to capture his lips with yours once again, a small peck before you pulled back. taehyun’s lips tried to follow yours, but you only giggled softly, pulling back more and more.
“i’m not done kissing you.”
you were in for a long night.
lollll i hope u enjoyed :)))))

Pairing: Lee Know (skz) x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff
Notes: im catching up dw!!!!!!
-please read responsibly, and remember that this work is fiction and meant strictly for imaginative fun. the idols used in fics are more accurately faceclaims and personality outlines for imaginary characters, and should not be interpreted as factual representations of existing people
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meeting him at first he was okay, kinda cut off from others
somehow you kept seeing him everywhere
he was a friend of a friend but still, it was weird that the two of you just met everywhere
you ended up approaching him at after class one day
he was just standing in the hall but now that you were closer to him you realized that he was infact VERYYYYY HANDSOMEEE
approaching him he looked at you, not rlly any expression on his face
you wanted to ask him about something....but you had forgotten💀
kinda just an awkward stare between the two of you.
you needed to say something so you asked if he wanted to be (school) partners with you
he looked taken aback, after all the two of you literally knew nothing about each other besides a mutual friend
but he said sure
as time went on you realized he wasn't as cold as you thought
once you got to know him he was actually really sweet :)
and... not only did ur knowledge about him grow... buttttt so did ur feelings
although he didn't really seen interested in you... did he?
well believe or not that day when you had asked lee know to be your lab partner he was bouncing off the walls
he could tell that you liked him and as each meeting went his feeling grew more and more
he had never really opened up to anyone so you being a first really meant a lot to him
although he tried to keep his cool around you it was hard, you were just so stunning, your laugh, the way you dressed and carried yourself...it was so mesmerizing to him
he had texted you one day asking if you wanted to meet up but you didn't answer
he thought maybe your phone was off or something but you hadn't showed up for class either
he knew you wouldn't dip him, so what happened?
well it was quite dumb actually
you were sleeping and ended up rolling off your bed hitting the side of your head on your sharp ass nightstand and then falling to the floor
you woke up and brushed it off but when you woke up again a few hour later slightly lightheaded and with a red tinted pillow you headed over to the er
it was nothing serious just a few stitches but still, it meant you left leeknow too present the project all alone
and you felt horrribleeeeeee
somehow when you got back home that night he was waiting for you any your front door
you ran up to him and he turned around to look at you suddenly cupping your face
"are you alright??? I heard what happened"
"what how?" you were so confuseddddd
"doesn't matter, your okay right?"
your heart was fluttering as he brushed your cheek with his thumb and pulled you in for a hug
and at that point you just melted into his embrace
LEE KNOW CODED THINGSSSS
Not a lot of affection in public, almost like the calm bf and energetic gf trope
but once the two of you are at home omllll
back hugs galore and random kisses
like imagine ur just sitting on the couch, this man would just grab and turn you whole face just to give you a kiss on the lips
Ur up early making breakfast and he just walks out of bed and hugs you from behind😭🫠
Rests his head in the crook of your neck and starts to nibble at it
The sweetest thing ever in the morning
Like would literally be ALL OVER YOU

Hiiiii :D
so i saw that u were doing match-ups and here i am! (my first time requesting anything but still-)
you can call me K, and can i please get a genshin romantic match up that's sfw? i go by she/her, and pretty sure im straight... i'm pretty introverted and dislike loud people and like horror as a whole, but i do like to be alone while im surrounded by either books or trees (maybe chocolate too-) im also kinda two-faced, like super polite and quiet to strangers but then i can go on an entire rant when im with close people. like i can just start talking about random stuff ranging from nature all the way to food or something. my love language is either physical touch or gift giving, and i adore suprise attacking someone with hugs or just tackling in general. for hobbies its probably drawing or singing? singing i would prefer to be private though. oh and i fall sick really easily too, like i fell sick thrice this year (and is still sick as of 22/8)
Thank youuu and u better go drink some water before you write ☆ now have a star cause ur a star ;D
(might come back for bsd...?)
do wtv u want anon! more requests are always welcomed when they open <3 and ty for the star!! I will always cherish it (><) YES I DRANK WATER!
Your genshin match is. . .
NEUVILLETTE !
⟡ HE IS A LADIES MAN AND I SAY THAT WITH MY CHEST!
⟡ Introvert x Introvert except you don’t know he’s an introvert because he has to talk to so much people a day..
⟡ You guys can say “I’m pretty sure I’m straight” together… /j
⟡ When he’s pining, he doesn’t know what to do to be honest.
⟡ You would THINK this calm and composed dragon make who has lived for over hundreds of years would know how to romance someone, but he doesn’t.
⟡ Or at least. He thinks he doesn’t? But don’t tell him he has oblivious charm.
⟡ When he’s around you his face is very stoic and he’s poised, but if he tucks his hair behind his ears, you can see the tips of them getting red from him just being near you! <3
⟡ He’s already quiet, so he doesn’t have to worry about himself, but he does protect you from people. He always makes sure they tone down their energy levels and that they’re at least not yelling into your ears.
⟡ The type of man to grab your hand and kiss the back of it softly 😍
⟡ You’ll notice that once you leave his office, it almost immediately starts raining. If you do know his secret at this time you always wonder what’s up with him.
⟡ Eventually, when you do ask why he’s been so sad lately, he caves. He confesses VERY formally that he is in fact, in love with you. And he gets upset when you leave because (he’s secretly clingy) he just misses you so much!
⟡ When you pause to process, he quickly internally panics and clears his throat. Continuing to say how he understands you may not feel the same way, but you quickly cut him off and tell him your own feelings.
⟡ After you guys made the switch to boyfriend and girlfriend, he was so happy!
⟡ Was very surprised when you started talking a lot more, but was overall happy because it meant you were opening up to him more and that was exactly what he wanted! For you to trust him like how he trusts you!
⟡ He’s usually very busy, so you may not be able to see him a lot, but when he is off and he spots you around he quietly approaches you from behind and gently wraps his arms around your waist.
⟡ He’s not very physically affectionate in public due to the fact he has a public image to maintain, but behind closed doors he is such a cuddle bug!
⟡ Loves to just bury his face against your shoulder or neck while spooning you, quietly breathing in your soothing scent as you rant about your day to him. He will softly hum in acknowledgment and caress you softly.
⟡ He is weirdly strong? So when you surprise attach him with hugs and cuddles, he barely moves! He just smiles and holds you in his arms while pressing a soft kiss to you cheek before asking about your day.
⟡ For dates, he will bring you to secluded spots of Fontaine. Places with beautiful flora and cute fauna. You guys usually have nice book dates and picnics in these locations. However he also encourages you to go to them whenever you please. How showed you them for a reason!
⟡ Sometimes when you guys are out and sitting together, he likes to hug you from the side and lean his head on top of yours to watch you as you sketch out a scenery.
⟡ Absolutely enchanted by your singing. One time he accidentally walked in lot your guys room to hear you singing to yourself because he had gotten home early from work, he was simply swooned even more!
⟡ He always hums the songs he catches you singing, he simply does it because they remind him of you and your melodic voice that wrapped his heart like a warm blanket.
⟡ Will adore every gift you give him or he will buy little trinkets that remind him of you to give to you later when he gets to your place!
⟡ If you ever got him an ugly Christmas sweater as a gag gift, he probably actually has it hanging in his closet somewhere. He’s patiently waiting for the perfect time to wear it.
⟡ Stops by at shops sometimes to see if you would like anything and will always return with a box of assorted chocolates for you to try. If you don’t like a certain chocolate? Lesson learned! He will remember that. If you like a certain flavor? He already has fifty boxes of them. /hj
⟡ When you guys watch movies together, he likes to hold you a lot. Whenever he gets nervous or scared, he’ll softly squeeze you in his arms like a little stress toy!
⟡ Please don’t tease him when he’s scared, he mostly just grows concerned for your safety and wants to make sure you’re safe!
⟡ Though he also really likes horror movies because he gets to hold you for an extended period of time before you guys have to get up and go to bed cuddling even more.
⟡ Will always take care of you when you’re sick! Sometimes he gets a little confused, but grows to understand the specific needs of your body based off your behaviors.
⟡ Will make you stay in bed with a cooling/warming blanket depending on your systems and prepare very nutritious meals he got from Wriothesley to make sure you come back just as strong as you were before!
That morning, you had just woken up sick. You refused to admit it though, walking about in the house to get ready for that day. About you never got far as Neuvillette followed closely behind.
He snuck in a thermometer, taking your temperature. It was a normal temperature for a cold. With that information, he gently pulled you back down onto the bed, whining at you softly to stay with him and that you were sick so you should just call in from work. You huffed softly as he got up and got ready, but only put on casual clothes. Turns out he was staying home with you until you felt better!
The rest of the day, he fed you soups and nutrient packed foods. Making sure to spoonfeed you all of it. If you didn’t eat the whole thing how would he have known if it worked to its full extent or not!
Later, the medicine. He sighed as she held the soup up to your mouth which you persistently would push away. “My dove, I know you don’t like the taste of it, but it will help you get better.” Reluctantly, you gave in. He would’ve found a way to get you to take it anyway, so might as well get it over with!
Of course, he would always shower you with love and kisses afterwords, he wanted you to know how proud he was of you for making it through the day.
The very next day, he also got sick…

hii im obsessed with your works!! i love them <3 i was wondering if you could write steve meeting readers family. and being super nervous and cute because he had came over to drop something and didnt expect your family to be there. maybe he just came back from basketball or the sport he plays and regretting not taking a shower before…
idk, change anything you want if its too detailed plss!!
hiii thank u so much! i switched it to be a little christmas dinner, hope that’s okay! | 0.6k, fluff and readers mom is in it
Meeting a partner’s family is always nerve-wracking.
When it comes to meeting yours, Steve’s more nervous than he’s ever been. You mean more to him than anyone else he’s been with, and so, your family’s opinion does, too. If he plans on being with you forever (which he does), then he has to impress them.
Then, there’s the added pressure of the holidays. Dinner is one thing, Christmas dinner is something else.
You’ve assured him over and over that they’ll love him, that they practically already do because of how much happier he’s made you. He simply shakes his head each time you say it, a flush creeping over his cheeks.
As if he’s not already nervous enough, he remembers his own family, and how it’s the only way he knows. The passive aggressive comments, the expectations, the awkward silence at dinner whenever he defends himself in the slightest.
He hopes that he’s not like them, that he’ll fit in with a room full of laughs and love and actual, real smiles.
While Steve’s a total wreck, you’re not worried in the slightest. He’s the most incredible boy you’ve ever known, an even better boyfriend, and there’s absolutely no way your family could ever dislike him.
He sits in the driveway in front of your house longer than he needs to. Then, he worries that they might be weirded out if he doesn’t come in. So, he picks up the flowers he brought—one bouquet for you, one for your mom—takes a deep breath, and heads to your door.
He barely knocks three times before the door opens, your mom, he knows from pictures he’s seen, beams at him from inside.
“You must be Steve.”
“That’s me,” he says. He holds out the flowers for her, “these are for you.”
He addresses her by Mrs, followed by your last name. She’s quick to correct him.
“Flowers! That’s very sweet of you,” she says, “come in, come in.”
He does, and your house is far better than his, he thinks. It might be smaller, but it’s more of a home than his ever has been.
“Sweetie, your boyfriend’s here!” Your mom calls. You’re in the room in a blink.
“Stevie,” you walk over to him, wrap your arms around his neck to give him a hug. The warmest greeting. So warm Steve forgets it’s December, that snow and cold winds are outside. You feel like summer.
“Hi, baby,” he says, kissing your cheek and pulling away to hand you the flowers. “Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas. These are beautiful.”
You dip your face down to smell them, to relish in the feeling of being given flowers by Steve. He gives them to you often, and it never gets old. The romance of it, the almost shy smile on his face when you compliment his choices.
“Mhm, just like you,” he says, tapping the tip of your nose, making you scrunch it slightly in response. It’s the cutest fucking thing.
“Well I was told you’re an excellent boyfriend,” your mom says. “This one talks about you all the time.”
“Mom,” you drag out the word, embarrassed by her exposing you for being lovesick. It’s true, though.
“I try my best,” he says.
You lean your head against his shoulder, hold his hand to try and ease him in any way you can. And you know he’s a sucker for physical touch.
Steve was expecting so much worse. He feels welcome, and cared for. Your mom takes his coat, she asks him if he wants anything to drink (after chastising you for not doing it yourself).
Plus, with you next to him, your scent in his nose and hand in his, he really can’t feel too bad.

Nesta refused to go fully no-contact with her sisters. To this day, she didn’t know why, but that was how she found herself standing outside Feyre’s house for her mandatory family dinner, held only three times a year.
Three times a year, Nesta had to dress up and submit herself to a painfully awkward night of being left out of conversations and eating mediocre food. Tonight it was for Thanksgiving. She’d long resigned herself to the torture of it all, and she was nothing but grateful that it was only three nights out of the whole year.
That still didn’t make knocking on the door any easier, however.
“Nesta?” a voice behind her asked, immediately raising every hair on her neck. She turned away from the front door to find a familiar face walking up the lit pathway to the manor’s stone porch, approaching her.
Oh God. “Cassian?”
Wow, did he look… different. In the three years since he’d left to work for the Peace Corps, Cassian’s muscles had subtly grown not bigger, but more defined, his clothes now better-fitting. His dark hair was shorter than she’d ever seen it before, no longer wild and untamed, but still long enough to fall near his chin. He looked so tame in comparison to the hulking giant she’d used to know.
He laughed and rushed up to her to sweep her into a crushing bear hug, making her gasp in surprise. They’d never been close enough in the past for a greeting this enthusiastic, but maybe the Peace Corps had made him demented. “How have you been?” he exclaimed, setting her down on her feet and placing a hand at her shoulder so she wouldn’t tip over. “I was wondering whether I’d get to see you tonight.”
Nesta could only open and shut her mouth, no words coming out. “You’re back,” was all she could say.
He grinned wide. His smile had remained the same. “I am.”
Her mind frantically flipped through the encyclopedia of social etiquette. “It’s good to see you again,” she forced out. “How was—life?”
His laugh was quiet, but she didn’t know what was funny. “I should be asking you the same thing. What are you waiting out here in the cold for?” He nudged her softly.
“Just trying to work up the nerve to knock on the door,” she answered honestly.
“I see.” He nodded. “Well, if we both put our heads together, I'm sure we can manage it before dinner is served.”
Was he making fun of her? His manner seemed serious and earnest, and it was confusing the hell out of Nesta.
Just then, the door swung open, a rush of light and warmth spilling out onto the front porch. “I thought I heard a ruckus outside,” Elain said, thin brows furrowing as her gaze swung to Nesta, then quickly smoothing out with a smile as her eyes landed on Cassian. “Come get out of the cold," she said. "We’re so glad you could make it.”
Nesta knew Elain was addressing both of them, but she couldn’t help but feel the last part had been directed to Cassian more than her.
Cassian swept inside with a grin and greeted Elain with a kiss to her cheek, and Nesta had to force herself to look away. Suddenly the hug she’d gotten no longer felt like overkill. A kiss had to mean more than a hug, right?
“You both are a little late, but you haven’t missed much. I’ll bring everyone else to the dining room,” Elain said, before wandering off down one of the mansion’s grand hallways to get the rest of their friends.
Nesta took in a subtle breath, but a deep one nonetheless, as she set about taking her coat off. It was stupid to be so anxious about a simple dinner. In no less than four hours, she'd be tucked in her warm bed with a swoony romance book, and the whole evening would disappear like the fragments of a bad dream. This was nothing.
Cassian came up to her side as they made their way to the dining room, bending down to speak into her ear. "There's so much I want to catch up with you about. I wish I'd known you were going to be here earlier, I would've prepared more."
Nesta's responding look was confused, if not bewildered. Prepared for what? Was there something grating about her presence that required preparation? He kept saying things that sounded like potential jabs in the softest, friendliest manner.
She ran her jittery hands down the sleek low ponytail of her hair, then the blue velvet of her simple dress. "Yes, well." She didn't follow through with the rest of the sentence.
They arrived at the dining room, where it was both a relief and a weight to no longer be alone with just Cassian. Everyone else in her sister's little friend group was already there, ooh-ing and aah-ing over the platters of food and rushing to claim seats at the table.
Nesta heard several exclamations of "Cassian's here!", all of which she ignored as she tried to decide which seat would suit her best tonight. She might have heard Cassian say, "Nesta's here, too," but it was quickly swallowed up and lost to the rest of the room's conversation.
Cassian took a seat next to Azriel and started pulling out the empty chair beside him. His eyes searched for and met Nesta's just as she picked her seat on the opposite side of the table, near the very end. A look of defeat took over his face as Morrigan took the chair beside him. Nesta didn't understand what the look was supposed to mean, but as it was awkward not to smile at someone after a certain amount of eye contact had been made, she offered him a small smile that probably came off as a tiny grimace before looking away.
After a lot of scrambling around, Elain ended up seated on Nesta's right. Not too bad, as conversation with Elain was less likely to make Nesta's skin crawl than with others at the table.
Everyone started piling their plates with food, and Nesta let Elain take her plate to serve her. It was easier than drawing attention to herself by reaching out and getting the food on her own.
"You shouldn't have come so late, Cassian," Feyre said from the head of the table. "You missed all the appetizers, they’re all finished now."
“Don’t tell me you didn’t save me any of Elain’s lobster rolls,” he said with wide eyes, acting offended.
Elain giggled at that, but the sound seemed more calculated than genuine. It probably wasn't nice to think everything that your sister did was calculated, but Nesta wasn't feeling very nice tonight. She felt like staring into her mashed potatoes while dreaming about a handsome man crashing this dinner party and promptly sweeping her off her feet.
Morrigan and Feyre led the conversation by gossiping about some work friend of Rhysand's they'd run into on their latest shopping trip, and time melded around Nesta and held her captive. She imagined she'd been painted to match the printed wallpaper behind her, rendering herself invisible to the rest of the room.
To everyone except one, that was. But everytime she accidentally made eye contact with Cassian, she looked away before he could even register it. By the time she looked back, he'd refocused on whatever jokes or stories his friends were telling.
Thirty minutes passed by without anyone asking Nesta a question. She counted each one, until—
"So what do you do these days?"
It took a long moment of awkward silence before Nesta looked up from her plate to find Cassian staring at her, his eyes warm. She realized the question had been directed at her. "Me?" she said in disbelief, because she needed the confirmation.
"No, one of these other losers," he teased. Some made noises of mock-offense, while others stifled their laughter.
Nesta shifted uncomfortably at how all the attention in the room had shifted to her. Being ignored wasn't fun, true, but this was far worse. "I run a dance studio," she answered. She didn't mention anything about how she was also a ghostwriter of romance novels on the side, although maybe she might have admitted it if they'd been alone.
Cassian's eyes lit up, and he imperceptibly leaned forward over the table. "No way. What kind of dance?"
"Um, just pole for now." Normally she'd leave it at that, but something in her wanted to give the full picture to Cassian. "I'm working on hiring more teachers and splitting it into contemporary and hip-hop-based classes, though."
"No ballet?"
She shook her head, distracting herself from his heavy gaze by taking a bite of salad. Ballet had been Nesta's first love, even more so than the ballroom dancing her grandmother had forced upon her, but she'd been bitter for a long time at how puberty and big boobs had taken away any chance she'd had to dance professionally. More than that, its ways were too rigid and painful, and Nesta would rather teach students how to let go rather than restrain themselves.
"That's crazy," he said, grinning. "I never imagined you doing anything than classical."
Right. He'd seen tapes of her old performances once a long time ago, though she was surprised he still remembered them.
"Nesta got the idea from dancing at that strip club a few years ago," Morrigan interjected with a wave of her fork.
Nesta's face flamed with heat at the misinformation, because even though there was nothing wrong with being a stripper, there were certain things you couldn't say to certain people without being judged for it. Like announcing that you wrote erotica in your free time, or that you were bisexual.
"It was just a regular club, and I was a go-go dancer," she corrected, as if that would lighten the blow. Rhysand made a noise that implied this was not much better than stripping.
"Holy shit, how much have I missed?" Cassian sat back in his chair in disbelief, not picking up on the light waves of discomfort that floated around the group whenever Nesta's past was brought up. Then again, he'd never found anything about her to be uncomfortable.
After Feyre and Rhysand had cut off all sources of her income, she’d been forced to find a real job. Dancing was the only thing she’d been good at doing, and she knew from the seedy bars she frequented that one of the nearby nightclubs was hiring. Thanks to her body and skills, she’d been able to indulge her alcohol problem off tips alone, at least until she’d made the decision to get her life together. That had been a year and a half ago.
But she couldn’t tell any of this to Cassian. She didn’t need to, either, because Amren answered his question for her. “Nesta's unrecognizable from when you last saw her, isn't she?" she drawled. "Don't worry; I promise her personality's still the same."
"Indeed," Rhysand grumbled, and a few others laughed.
Cassian still had that smile glued to his face, but it now looked frozen and false, as if he was no longer happy but didn’t know what to do about it.
But the conversation was out of his control now, due to the unfortunate fact that once attention landed on Nesta, it was usually difficult to make it go away. The next thing she knew, she was being bombarded with questions from all sides of the table.
"Were you late tonight because of that old Toyota again? I told you you could afford a new car if you took up my job offer."
"One of my friends took a class at your studio and said it wasn't too bad. You should give me a free membership so I can see for myself."
"What's your new address again?" This one from Feyre. "I need it for my Christmas cards."
Nesta blinked hard, head spinning at everyone's words being thrown at her, wondering how unacceptable it would be if she just—snapped. Wondering if maybe she could get herself uninvited from these things from good.
"I—" Mor started to lob another question.
“Let the woman fucking breathe, Jesus,” Cassian chuckled into his wine glass, cutting her off. But it was targeted at the whole room to hear, and the bitterness beneath it was clear.
The room went still. Awkwardness, sharp and cold as ice, swept over the dinner table until Nesta felt like her bones were frozen in place.
When no one responded, Cassian took a large gulp of wine and set the glass down with a dull thud. “I mean, if we want her to come around more often maybe we shouldn’t be giving her reasons to never visit,” he said, his voice too loud in the quiet room.
“We’re just catching up since we never get to see her,” Feyre said, sounding hurt and defensive at the same time.
Rhysand’s barely-audible growl implied he wanted to kill whoever had put that hurt in her tone—which in this case and most cases, was Nesta.
“That’s enough,” a delicate but firm voice beside Nesta said. She felt a soft hand rest on her arm, and looked up to find Elain’s sympathetic brown eyes watching her. But when Elain opened her mouth to speak again, all that came out was, “Eat more, will you? You’re so skinny it’ll make the rest of us look bad.”
Nesta had actually been gaining healthy weight lately, but for some unfathomable reason this was Elain’s attempt at diffusing the hostility in the room, so Nesta hummed a sound that technically counted as a response and busied herself with picking at her cut of roast beef.
Her lack of aggression seemed to satisfy the table, and one by one, people slowly went back to ignoring her and redirecting their focus to another topic of conversation.
Not even a minute later, Morrigan cackled far louder than required at something Azriel had said, causing Nesta's shoulders to inch up toward her ears. The hand that held her fork had fallen still, and Nesta’s other hand was fluttering subtly on the table, her index finger digging sharply into the thin skin around her thumbnail. The pain was a welcome balm to her agitated nerves.
She forced her hand to straighten out and lie still when she noticed Cassian's gaze on her. The action only sent her pent-up nerves straight to her spine, where she feared they would spontaneously combust and cause a meltdown in front of the whole table.
But then she met his eyes, and something in her heart choked, then settled.
She’d long forgotten the true hazel of his eyes. Hazel could be any color and every color, but looking at Cassian now, even from this distance in this weak lighting, her brain was starting to fill in the gaps of her memory. So many shades of brown and yellow speckled with blue-green colliding together, reminding her of undiscovered planets.
He was the first to pull his gaze away, but it was slow and required effort. Spell broken, Nesta’s own gaze dropped to her plate. At the very least, she no longer felt like ripping her fingernails off.
Nesta was left fairly alone for the rest of the meal, but the odd tension that had formed with Cassian and spread over the rest of the room didn’t dissipate. Even when everyone once again became lost to bantering and arguing with each other, Nesta felt the sense of awareness burning along every line of her body. She tried telling herself it was just in her head, but when she caught Amren sneaking a glance at her out of the corner of her eye, it was undeniable.
As more and more people finished their plates, they got up from the table to use the bathroom, talk on the phone, or wander into the adjacent drawing room to make use of its minibar. Among the noise, Nesta quietly excused herself and made a beeline for the emptiest part of the first floor of the house.
Alone in the kitchen, she finally allowed herself a deep intake of air. It felt like her first breath all night.
Shuffling toward the liquor cabinet, she pulled the first bottle of red wine she could find and grabbed herself a glass. Low footsteps behind her made her look over her shoulder before she could open the bottle.
It was just Cassian. Though the sight of him made her insides flutter, she didn't think he would judge her for drinking, so she turned back to her glass and uncorked the bottle.
"I needed some air," he spoke after a few moments of silence. Nesta nodded as she filled her glass perhaps a little too high. He took a few more steps toward the counter where she stood, and she belatedly realized that he was trying to engage in conversation with her.
Her brain scrambled for something to say, and just as she thought of asking him if he wanted some wine as well, Cassian was speaking again. "I'm sorry for everyone's behavior back there. It was super embarrassing."
Oh no, Nesta internally groaned. She'd almost rather put up with Feyre's lecturing and Amren's nitpicking than deal with an apology.
"They're not usually like this," he promised. "Someone must have spiked their drinks tonight."
Nesta didn't bother telling him that he was wrong. She didn't know how to react to such an unexpected statement. "There's nothing to apologize for," she said, sounding stilted and awkward. "I'm not really a sensitive person."
"Still," he said, looking up at her, "the vibes in this place are so weird tonight." He shuddered to himself. "Don't you feel weird?"
Was he referring to his friends, the sharp-edged way they spoke to her, or something else? "Maybe because it's your first time back in a long time." Nesta shrugged. "I'm used to it."
"Well, I'm not. In fact, I can think of a dozen other things I'd rather be doing right now than having dinner here."
Nesta glanced at him, her eyes widened in surprise. "Haven't you missed your friends, though? They're so excited to see you."
He shook his head. "This is honestly, like, our fifth meeting together since I got back. I see them all the time."
"Ah."
"What about you?" he pressed. "Do you want to stay or go?"
Nesta looked around the kitchen as if someone else might have walked in during their conversation and he was talking to them instead. "What do you mean?" she said.
He let out a small laugh. "Do you want to ditch this dinner?"
"But—wouldn't that be rude?"
He shrugged as if the consequences didn't matter much to him. "The door's right there." He gestured with his head toward the hallway leading to the foyer.
Nesta didn't know what overcame her. She chugged as much of her glass of wine as she could and set it down with a thump, looking at Cassian. Less than a minute later, they were speeding out the front door on quiet feet, stifling laughter and the jingle of car keys as they went.
***
"What about my car?" Nesta asked as Cassian started up his Ford truck, turning the heat up to full blast.
"We'll come back for it later tonight," he promised, shifting into drive and pulling away from the hulking mansion. "After everyone's gone, so you don't have to run into them."
"That'll take hours, though," she said, chewing the inside of her cheek. There was never such thing as a short dinner when Feyre's inner circle were gathered together.
"I've got hours to kill," he shrugged, then glanced over at her. "You can go home whenever you want, though. I can drop you off or take you back to your car."
Nesta took half a second to mourn her dream of cuddling in bed with her books all night, then got past it. This wasn't such a bad replacement for her former plans, anyhow.
"What should we do?" she asked, hesitant excitement bubbling in her stomach. Cassian opened his mouth to answer, but she cut him off. "Should we go to the movies? I wanted to see that new horror comedy—"
"I thought it wasn't out for another week."
"Oh." She sat back, trying to think of something else. "Is Nude still in theaters?"
Cassian chuckled. "Don't think so, Nes."
She ignored how the nickname made her feel. "What about Back to Black?"
"Director's a creep."
"The new Marvel movie?"
"Terrible reviews, and you hate mega-franchises."
True. "...Maybe we can just keep driving around?" she finally suggested.
Cassian surrendered with a cheery grin. "I love that idea." He glided into the right lane and made a turn that led them straight onto the highway. The truck hummed as it accelerated from 45 to 70.
In the dark lit only by the dashboard lights, Nesta kicked her heels off and stretched out in her seat, letting herself smile. She could hardly remember why she'd been struggling for air back at that dinner. This, driving at night with Cassian in silence, was one of the most relaxing feelings she'd ever experienced.
Even so, she was surprised to find she didn't mind it much when Cassian eventually interrupted the quiet.
“I really did miss you.” His words took her by surprise, and it must have showed in the look she threw him.
He chuckled lowly. “Is it that hard to believe?”
It was, actually, though Nesta didn’t tell him that. “I just don’t remember us being that close,” she said, shrugging. They’d rarely talked without Feyre or one of her friends in the room, and when they had talked alone, the conversations hadn’t been very deep. He’d tried to tease and challenge her in the beginning, as she was sure he did with every worthy person who came his way, but when Nesta was unresponsive to his efforts, he eventually dropped the asshole act.
“We weren’t,” Cassian agreed, “but sometimes your favorite people are the ones you see the least.”
That made Nesta’s breath hitch. He couldn’t mean it the way she thought he meant it. She couldn’t be his favorite.
"I had a huge crush on you when we first met, you know," he added.
Nesta’s shoulders deflated, in either relief or disappointment, she didn’t know. Of course; that was what he’d meant. She gave him a dry look in response. "Yeah, I sensed that."
He did a double-take from the road to her. "You did?"
It had been painfully obvious any time they were in the same room together, with the weight of Cassian's gaze feeling like hefting a barbell of anxiety and discomfort and embarrassment. She remembered how her skin would itch with how she blushed, how her throat would close up and her breathing would shallow out. It had felt like suffering from an allergic reaction.
Nesta didn't say any of that to Cassian now, though. "What made you stop liking me?" she asked instead, propping her elbow on the passenger-side window and leaning her head against her fist. She was genuinely curious to hear his answer. It had happened before she'd fallen too deep into her hole of depression and brought shame onto Feyre and the Archeron name, so it couldn't have been the fact that she'd been a hot mess. "Was I too rude? Too quiet? Too boring?" How had she let him down?
"What?" Cassian looked over at her like she'd gone insane. "No."
"Then what was it that made you stop liking me?" Because Cassian had stopped liking Nesta at a certain point. After a few awkward conversations and a failed attempt to spend time alone with her, Cassian had pulled away from Nesta as if he'd never known her in the first place. The heavy gazes lessened, then stopped altogether, and the conversation would rarely go past a friendly "hello" up until the day Cassian had left for the Peace Corps.
Cassian bit down on his lip, looking both amused and flustered by her scientific questioning. "I didn't stop liking you. I just stopped chasing you."
That information took Nesta by surprise. She was stunned, still figuring out what to say in response when Cassian continued, "I was too young and too stupid back then. I didn't know how to make decisions for myself, and I let other people convince me not to go after the things I wanted. I regretted it for a long time while I was away overseas, but eventually I just had to get over it, you know?"
Nesta blinked, staring out the windshield and saying nothing.
He'd wanted her. Even when she was drinking and fucking her way through every bar and club in the city, he'd wanted her, all the way up until the day he left—and even after that, if she was understanding him correctly.
"Anyway, what about you?" Cassian said, changing the topic. "You been seeing anyone lately?"
"Why? Are you asking for yourself?" She meant it to be taunting, but her natural deadpan tone made most things she said sound serious.
Cassian made a noise that sounded like a choked cough. "It was just a question."
She tried not to be disappointed at his response, even though it was no surprise that he was over her by now. Why would he be interested in reigniting something that had never sparked in the first place?
"No," she finally answered, her voice sounding small but not weak. "I haven't really been interested in meeting people lately, not even for casual hookups."
He threw a glance over at her, the surprise subtle but there. "Can I ask why?"
She shrugged, never having had to explain the answer to anyone else before. "I don’t like putting myself in situations where men want my body. I already feel like a blowup sex doll as it is, so it’s better to not date at all."
"Why would you feel like that?" Cassian said, the slightest hint of alarm and concern creeping into his tone. "Did somebody call you that?"
She shifted in her seat, feeling awkward at being put on the spot. "I don’t know, it’s just the way my body’s built. I’m always getting asked whether I do porn or have an OnlyFans. People always give me their unwanted opinions on my boobs or my hips or my butt."
"Who said that to you?" he demanded.
"I was a go-go dancer, remember?"
"That's not an answer." His voice was hard. "Or an excuse."
"I only told you because you asked why I don't date," she said sharply, suddenly cold. "I don't need your pity." And she was regretting opening up so much to him so soon.
Cassian opened his mouth to speak and she cut him off before he could decide to pity her anyway. "What would you do with the names of my harrassers, anyway? Find them and beat them up? Give them a real piece of your mind?" she mocked. "You can barely stand up to your own friends when they're being dickheads, tough guy."
Cassian made a choking sound, which soon devolved into wheezing, and when Nesta finally looked over at him she found that his shoulders were shaking with restrained laughter. Her brows scrunched up in confusion, her nerves getting whiplash from the sudden shift in mood.
"Holy shit, there she is," he barely got out between laughs of disbelief. "Where the hell was she all this time?"
"Who?" Her bafflement must have been written all over her face.
"The proud Nesta I first met so many years ago," he stated. "The one who'd rather choke to death on her own arrogance than give in to someone else."
Nesta felt like he'd just pointed to an obvious crumbling corpse that everyone else was trying hard to forget was in the room. That prideful Nesta was the opposite of the person she was trying to be these days, even though her ghost might have made an appearance when she'd been a little unnecessarily rude to Cassian just now.
She only shook her head, denying that old version of herself's right to exist. "I don't have the time or energy to be that person anymore. And I hate getting into fights. Losing all the time gets exhausting fast."
Instead of responding with something witty, Cassian drummed his thumbs against the steering wheel, his tongue poking into his cheek as he clearly thought something over. "The Nesta I knew never used to lose an argument," he finally said.
"A lot of things change once you lose all your financial and social capital," she murmured, almost too quiet for him to hear. It was the closest they'd gotten all night to touching upon that uncomfortable period of her life—Alcoholic Whore Gone Wild, as Amren had coined it. But she couldn't bear exposing that part of her past to Cassian, even though he'd already witnessed it with his own two eyes. She refused to say more, not wanting him to remember what a mess she'd been only a few years ago.
"Is it Rhys and the rest of the guys?" Cassian said, plowing right through the topic she was trying to avoid. "Did they outnumber you into changing so you'd fit into his PR campaigns or something?"
Cassian was scarily close to being on the nose of what had actually gone down, and it made Nesta flare her nostrils in defense. "I don't think we're close enough to be talking about things like this." She was back to being cold, even though it required more effort this time. "Change the subject."
"Fine," he said casually, though not even the dark could hide the subtle tightness of his jaw. "Let's go back to that sex-doll thing then. Did that start before or after I left?"
"Are you my therapist?" she felt the need to resist against him.
"Do you ever answer questions without another question?" he shot back. When Nesta still refused to budge, he released a sigh. "You just never seemed to me like someone who gave a shit about how others saw you. That was what made you Nesta. So yeah, sue me if I wanna know more about how your pretty little brain works."
Nesta swallowed his words like a rough pill, doing her best not to linger on the word "pretty". Now that he didn’t seem so uncomfortably shocked by her confession, she twisted toward him like she was telling a juicy story. Honestly, she felt a perverted excitement at getting to discuss parts of her life that she never got to speak about otherwise. "I used to not care that much about it," she started, "but one day while I was alone at home I saw my ass in skinny jeans in the mirror. I don’t know, it just flipped a switch in me. I felt so dirty. Like an object to be used instead of a person. And I realized that was how most people probably perceived me, too. It freaked me out so bad I just retreated from men and the dating pool altogether."
She felt dirty going out in certain clothes, and dirtier still when other people looked at her in those clothes. Even the dress she’d worn tonight, formfitting with the neckline cut out to accentuate her chest, had required her to avoid full-length mirrors while getting ready. She knew it wasn’t normal to feel the way she felt, but she also knew there wasn’t much to be done about it.
Cassian let out a low whistle. "That’s fucked."
"Is that all you have to say?"
"No." His answer was smooth. "But I think you'll get mad at everything else I want to say, so I'll leave it at that. It's really fucked you have to feel that way, Nesta."
Her swallow was tight, and she was more than a little surprised. Never in a million years could the Nesta of three years ago have imagined Cassian talking with her about things like this, and more than that, comforting her.
In truth, she had thought about Cassian too while he was gone. She wouldn’t say she’d missed him, because she didn’t know how to miss something she never had, but there’d been an empty longing on the rare occasions she thought of him. A bittersweet desire for what could have been, if only she’d been less of a mess and more of an easy person to be around.
She didn’t know how to tell him this, so she settled for, “For what it's worth, I really am happy that you're back.”
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Cassian stifle a smile. He roughly cleared his throat and changed the subject. “You wanna go to Town Square and see the Christmas lights?”
“Sounds good.”
“Okay.”
Nesta tucked her feet beneath herself and got comfortable, and they continued driving in companionable silence. Twinkling holiday lights and towering decorations passed in a blur outside the windows, and at one point Cassian stopped at an In-N-Out to order fries and a milkshake. "You didn't eat much back at the house," was his only explanation as he handed the food over to Nesta.
She accepted the kindness without complaint, happily munching on fries and melting into her heated seat. Something about the warm truck made her forget time was moving, but the next time she pulled her gaze away from the windshield to check the clock, she saw it was already midnight.
Cassian seemed to take note of it at the same time she did. “Damn, I have an early morning tomorrow…” He trailed off, not stating the obvious—that their little getaway drive had to come to an end.
“Me too,” Nesta lied, so she didn’t sound stupid for wanting to stay like this, driving in silence.
She turned on her phone for the first time all night, finding no less than five missed calls and a handful of upset texts from her sisters. Holding back a grimace, she shut her phone off again. "Maybe you can drop me off at home instead of at Feyre’s."
"You sure?" Cassian looked over at her. "What about your car?"
She waved a hand. "I'll get it back later. I just want to be home right now."
Cassian didn’t hesitate before making a U-turn off the left lane. “You still live in Brentwood?” he asked casually.
Brentwood, with the roach-infested grimy one-bedroom she’d inhabited in the depths of her depression, back when it was all she could afford and all she could stomach to come home to after a long day of self-hatred.
Unlike most, Cassian had never judged her for it. He’d even shown up on her ratty doorstep one Christmas Eve to drop off gifts from her sisters, saying nothing but that he hoped she would be okay, and to have a merry Christmas. There was no direct mention of her obvious miserable state, but no tense avoidance of it, either. It had been the most ordinary interaction Nesta’d had that year: short, sweet, and simple.
Nesta blinked herself out of the sudden memory. Being reunited with Cassian was bringing back too many moments she’d forgotten had happened. She shook her head, even though he probably couldn’t see. “I moved to Goldridge.”
“Ooh, fancy,” he teased. He pulled out his phone and held it out to her. “Put your address into the GPS.”
Clicking on his phone, Nesta found notifications for several missed calls and texts on his screen as well. They were at least double the amount she had, but she didn’t let her eyes linger on the messages as she swiped up onto the home screen. Of course he didn’t have a password on his phone. He could be so dumb sometimes.
Typing her address into his Maps app, she turned the navigation on and set his phone down in the cupholder between them.
Cassian glanced over to it and squinted to read her address while he drove. "That's only twenty minutes away from where I live."
"Really?" Nesta perked up, intrigued. In the past, Cassian had always been an hour or so away, considering the heavy traffic between Velars and it's poorer outskirt cities. Now he was basically her neighbor. "But isn’t it far from your friends and family?”
She'd purposely chosen her current home for the distance it placed between her and said friends and family.
Cassian shrugged as he merged onto the highway. “Not too far, but not too close, either.”
The rest of the drive passed with light conversation between them. Addicted to how the low rumble of his voice paired with the darkness of the night roads made her feel fuzzy and sleepy, Nesta let Cassian ramble to her about his time in Tunisia while she leaned back in her seat, her eyes millimeters away from drooping shut.
Sometime later, Cassian pulled up to the curb of her brownstone townhouse and put the truck into park. He let out a low whistle as he inspected the tall windows and the quality brickwork, then looked back at Nesta, who was still blinking the sleep out of her eyes, with an embarrassed grin. “I’m a fool. I completely forgot to ask how you ended up with your dance studio.”
Nesta opened her mouth to tell him about her business, but Cassian shook his head fast. “Don’t tell me now. I want to hear the whole story, sometime when the night isn’t right about to end.”
Sometime other than now…? “What do you mean?” she voiced.
He met her gaze with serious intention, no amusement or nervousness to be found. “I’d like to see you again, Nesta Archeron.”
The words hung between them like the start of a promise.
Despite the sudden warmth flooding her insides, Nesta was hesitant with her answer. She still didn't completely trust Cassian—nor herself when she was around him. She didn't want to spiral into obsession over him just for him to break her heart. She still needed to test the rock face of this thing between them, checking for cracks and loose areas that could give way. “I’ll think about it," she finally said.
Cassian's lips slowly curled up into a clever smile, looking like he'd just won a prize. "Give me your keys." He held his broad hand out.
Nesta frowned. "What for?"
"I'll bring your car over in the morning. It'll be a quick drop-off."
"You really don't need to..." She trailed off as Cassian reached over and stuck his hand in her tiny purse, quickly finding and pulling out the shiny keys. He jingled them in her face. "Thanks for these," he said, as if she were the one doing him a favor.
She opened her mouth, closed it, then nodded. She'd given up on trying to keep pace with their conversations, especially not when he rendered her speechless so often. "I should get inside now," she said.
"Don't freeze on the way to the door," he said, even though it couldn't have been more than a ten second walk. Again, was he teasing or being genuine? Or somehow both at the same time?
"Get home safe," she responded, because that was the only phrase her encyclopedia for social etiquette held right now. She exited the car and reached inside again to grab her purse. She might have left it behind so she'd have an excuse to linger in the pinecone-scented warmth of his truck for a bit longer. Eventually, she had to force her head out of the front seat, away from Cassian's kind smile and gorgeous eyes. "Goodnight, Cassian." Nesta shut the door between them, eager to end their interaction quickly so she could go inside and spend the whole night thinking about him.
Even with the door shut and the windows too dark to make out Cassian's face, Nesta swore she could feel it in her bones when he murmured back, "Goodnight, Nesta."

a/n: the gifts were not from her sisters…but that’s a story for later (never)

when your favorite cafe snack isn’t available — gojo satoru.
you had been looking forward to your favorite snack all week—a sweet, indulgent treat from your favorite café that never failed to lift your spirits. but when you arrived and scanned the display case, your heart sank. the spot where your beloved snack usually sat was empty, replaced by a small sign that read, "temporarily unavailable."
your disappointment was palpable, and as you turned away from the counter, you couldn't help but feel a little downcast. you knew that it was a small thing, but sometimes the little comforts made all the difference when you’ve been dealt hard missions.
gojo satoru, your partner, accompanied you to the café. its late at night, so he didn’t want to see you go by yourself. when you lowered your head, he immediately noticed your change in mood. he placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, his thumb gently rubbing in circles.
"hey baby, what's wrong?" he asked softly, concerned about lacing his voice.
"they don't have it," you sighed, trying to brush off the disappointment but failing to keep the sadness from your voice. "it's silly, i know, but i was really looking forward to it."
your satoru's eyes softened with understanding, and he pulled you into a gentle hug. "it's not silly, baby." he murmured, holding you close. "i know how much you love it."
you sighed and leaned into his embrace, taking comfort in his warmth and presence. "i guess i just had my hopes up, babes." you admitted, feeling a little embarrassed by how much it affected you. “it is pretty late.”
satoru chuckled softly, resting his chin on top of your head. "it's okay, baby. i know," he said reassuringly. "we all have those little things that make us happy. i’m sorry they don’t have it today."
you smiled against his chest, feeling a bit better just being in his arms. "thank you, babes. you always know how to make me feel better."
he pulled back slightly, looking into your eyes with a playful glint. "how about we go find another café that has something else you love? Or maybe I'll even try to make it for you at home. could be a disaster, but i'm willing to give it a shot, baby."
you laughed at the thought of your satoru in the kitchen, knowing full well his culinary skills were hit-or-miss. "that sounds perfect, babes." you agreed, the disappointment starting to fade away with his support. "i'd love to see you try."
gojo satoru grinned, his enthusiasm infectious. "then it's a date, baby!" he declared, kissing your cheek. “come on, baby!”
taking your hand and leading you out of the café, ready to turn your day around with his unwavering love and optimism. you were lucky to have him.

when you’re very overworked — geto suguru.
these past few weeks had been a whirlwind of missions and responsibilities. they’ve given you mission after mission and you hated it. this leaves you feeling like you were about to get sick — feeling exhausted and worn thin. as a jujutsu sorcerer, you were no stranger to hard work, but lately, the demands had been relentless, leaving little time for rest or self-care.
one evening, as you returned home from another long day, geto suguru to immediately notice the way your fatigue was etched all over your beautiful features. your suguru was sitting in the living room, surrounded by books and papers, researching his next mission. he notices when you come home all the time, so he looked up as soon as you walked in, concern flashing across his face as you stood there.
"you look exhausted, baby." suguru said softly, rising from his seat to greet you. his purple eyes, always filled with warmth and tenderness, mirrored the concern you felt but couldn’t voice. "have you been overworking yourself again?"
you sighed, running a hand through your hair, feeling the weight of the day pressing down on you. "yeah, baby. it's just been... a lot," you admitted, your voice weary.
your suguru approached you, his expression shifting from concern to determination. "come here, baby." he said gently, guiding you to the couch and urging you to sit down. "you need to take a break."
you couldn’t help but just sink into the cushions, grateful for the chance to rest. your suguru sat beside you, his presence comforting and reassuring. "let me take care of you tonight, baby" he offered, his voice filled with quiet resolve.
you couldn’t help but smile, touched by his love and care. “you don't have to do that, sugu, baby."
your suguru shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "but i want to. you already do so much for everyone else. let me do something for you."
your suguru got up and disappeared into the kitchen, and you could hear the clattering of dishes and the sound of water running. a few moments later, your lover returned with a cup of tea, offering it to you with a gentle smile.
"here, drink this. it'll help you relax, baby."
you took the cup, feeling the warmth seep into your hands. "thank you, sugu. baby." you said, taking a sip and savoring the calming aroma. the tea was soothing, a perfect remedy for the day's stress. “you’re so good to me.”
he smiles, pressing a kiss on your cheek. “you’ll do the same for me, baby.”
“i love you.” you smiled up to him, drinking your tea again.
“i love you too, baby.” he grins, his fingers running down your hair. "you’re doing an incredible job, baby."
“thank you baby.”
“but take care of yourself, hm? your health matters most.”
you nodded. "i know. i just... i feel like there's always so much to do."
he gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. "and you'll get it done, i have no doubt. but you don’t have to do it alone. let me help you, okay?"
his words wrapped around you like a warm embrace, filling the cracks that exhaustion had left behind. "Okay, baby." you agreed, feeling lighter than you had in weeks.
as the evening wore on, your suguru kept his promise, ensuring you were comfortable and cared for. he drew a warm bath, cooked a simple but delicious dinner, and made sure you took the time to unwind. with each small act of kindness, you felt your energy slowly returning, the weight of the day lifting from your shoulders.
by the time night fell, you were curled up on the couch with your suguru, your head resting on his shoulder. The room was quiet, filled only with the soft crackle of the fireplace and the rhythmic sound of his breathing.
"thank you for taking care of me, baby" you murmured, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. “you’re so good to me.”
suguru smiled, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you closer. "anytime, baby." he replied softly. "i’m here for you, always."

when your favorite character dies — nanami kento.
the moment you heard the news on twitter, your heart sank. your manga favorite character, the one who had inspired you and brought so much joy into your life, was gone. you’ve never felt like this before. this felt like a piece of your world had shifted, leaving behind an unexpected emptiness that you couldn't quite comprehend.
slowly, as the reality settled in, you found yourself sitting on the couch, clutching a pillow tightly, tears welling up in your eyes little by little. you didn’t want to be dramatic but the loss of a beloved character was a reminder of the fleeting nature of life, even in the world of fiction, and it weighed heavily on your heart. it felt like the sun will never shine again.
nanami kento noticed your quiet distress as he entered the room. getting home, he was really worried. on thursdays, you get quiet when spoilers for your favorite manga drops. but you immediately reply to him. it’s been hours now and he was concerned.
your beloved nanami kento had always been perceptive, understanding the small things that brought you happiness and, in turn, the things that could break your heart. he approached you with a calm presence, sitting down beside you.
"hey, baby." he said softly, placing a gentle hand on your back. "’heard about what happened. i'm sorry, baby."
you looked up at him, your eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "it sounds silly, doesn't it? being so upset over a fictional character, ken-ken." you said, trying to brush it off, but the pain in your voice betrayed your true feelings. “this is horrible, ken-ken.”
your nanami shook his head, his expression kind and understanding. "it's not silly. we can form connections with stories and characters because they mean something to us. so, don’t worry about being sad. it's okay to feel like this too."
you nodded, feeling a bit reassured by his words, but the grief was still there, a persistent ache. Without another word, your nanami pulled you into a gentle embrace, wrapping his arms around you securely. you were so lucky to have him, your 2d man. your truest love.
"it's okay to cry, baby." he murmured, his voice a soothing balm to your heart. "i'm here. you can let it all out."
and you did. you let the tears flow, feeling the weight of your emotions being shared with someone who understood and cared. your nanami held you close, offering quiet comfort and a safe space to grieve your beloved manga beloved.
after a while, when the tears had subsided and your breathing had steadied, your nanami pulled back slightly, looking at you with gentle eyes. "feeling a little better?" he asked softly.
you nodded, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand. "a little bit, ken-ken." you admitted, managing a small, grateful smile. "thank you, ken-ken. it really helps having you here. it makes me feel better."
your lover smiled back, a warm, reassuring expression that made you feel valued and understood. no one had made you feel this comfortable being like this, ever. only him. Your beloved.
"anytime," he replied, reaching out to brush a stray tear from your cheek. "and if you need to talk more about it or anything else, i’m always here to listen. about this manga husband of yours or someone else."
nanami shifted his position, reaching for a cozy blanket and draping it over your shoulders. "why don't we watch something together, baby?” he suggested, gesturing towards the television. "something light and uplifting. it might help take your mind off things, hm?"
you nodded, appreciating the distraction. "that sounds nice, ken–ken." you agreed, settling back against the cushions.

when you watch too many cute videos and you get overwhelmed — yuuji itadori.
It had been one of those days where you found yourself falling down a rabbit hole of cute cat and dog videos online. your little brother had sent you a video that led to another, and soon, you were lost in a world of fluffy kittens and playful puppies, your heart swelling with each adorable clip.
as the hours passed, the sheer amount of cuteness became overwhelming. you found yourself tearing up, emotions bubbling up unexpectedly as you watched a video of a tiny kitten being rescued or a puppy reuniting with its owner. you couldn't help it; the happiness was so intense that it left you feeling a bit frazzled and emotionally raw.
yuuji happened to walk into the room just as you were openly crying, your face buried in your hands. his eyes widened in concern, and he quickly came over to sit beside you.
"hey, babe, what's wrong?" he asked, gently rubbing your back as you sniffled and tried to compose yourself.
you let out a shaky laugh, feeling a little embarrassed for getting so emotional over cute videos. "it's just... i don't know," you hiccupped, wiping away your tears. "i've been watching all these cat and dog videos, and now i'm just so overwhelmed by how adorable they are!"
yuuji grinned, clearly relieved that it wasn't something more serious. "ah, i get it. they're so cute that it just hits you right in the heart, huh?" he said, giving you a sympathetic pat on the back. "i didn't know cute overload was a real thing until now!"
you nodded, chuckling through your tears. "yeah, i guess i wasn't prepared for this emotional rollercoaster," you said, feeling a bit more at ease with his lighthearted approach.
"well, how about we take a break from all the cuteness for a bit?" yuuji suggested, his voice cheerful and comforting. "we could go for a walk or do something else to clear your mind. what do you think?"
you nodded, grateful for the suggestion. "a walk sounds nice," you agreed, feeling a sense of relief at the thought of stepping away from the emotional overload.
yuuji stood up and offered his hand to help you off the couch. as you took it, you felt a wave of warmth and comfort from his touch, his easygoing nature already helping to soothe your frazzled nerves.
as you both headed outside, yuuji started talking about random things, trying to distract you with stories about his day and sharing funny moments that had happened recently. his energy was contagious, and soon you found yourself laughing along with him, the heaviness in your chest starting to lift.
"see? you're already feeling better, babe!" yuuji said with a grin as you walked through the park, the fresh air doing wonders to clear your mind. "sometimes you just need a change of scenery."
you nodded, appreciating how effortlessly he knew how to make things better. "thank you, yuuji," you said sincerely, feeling lucky to have him by your side. "you're always so good at cheering me up."
he gave you a warm smile, wrapping an arm around your shoulders as you continued your walk. "it's easy when i'm with you, babe." he replied, his voice full of genuine affection. “i love you, hm?”
you giggled. “love you too, babe.”
by the time you returned home, you felt much more at ease, the overwhelming emotions from earlier having subsided. yuuji made you a cup of hot cocoa and some snacks. both of you settled down together in a snuggle pile on the couch, determined to keep the good vibes going.
"remember, no more cute videos for a while, babe!" he teased gently, nudging you playfully. "or at least take it slow next time!"
you laughed, grateful for his support and understanding. "i'll try, babe." you promised, snuggling closer to him, feeling comforted and content.

when you’re on your period and its been painful — fushiguro megumi.
the cramps had started early in the morning, a dull ache that gradually intensified until it felt like a storm was raging inside you. this was one of those cycles—one of the bad ones. you really tried to go about your day, but the pain and discomfort were relentless, leaving you feeling drained and frustrated. tears were brimming through your eyes all day. you haven’t told megumi, but it’s rough to disturb him when he’s training.
so, you decided you would find dealing with this by yourself the only choice. you were curled up on the couch, a heating pad pressed against your abdomen, trying to find some relief. the room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn to keep out the harsh light, as even that seemed too much to bear. but you’ll get through it. you always have. and you will again.
fushiguro megumi walked in, his expression softening with concern as soon as he saw you. kugisaki had called him, because you weren’t answering the knocks on your dorm door. he had noticed the signs earlier, the subtle winces and the way you held yourself, and he knew you were in pain. he sighed and shifted your hair away from your face, eyes narrowed tenderly.
"hey, dummy." he said, his tone gruff but filled with concern as he sat beside you. he presses his palm against your forehead. "how are you feeling?"
you let out a small sigh, giving him a tired smile. "not great, babe." you admitted, appreciating his presence. "this cycle is rough. it hurts so bad."
megumi nodded, a little furrow of worry on his brow. "why didn’t you tell me earlier?" he muttered, reaching out to gently brush your back as you sniffed some air. “you know i don’t like it when you’re sick, you dummy.”
“but you were busy.” your lips echo a tender pout, eyes brimming with wetness.
“i don’t care if i’m busy.” he sighs, brushing your face softly. his tender eyes were always so loving to you. “i want to take care of you, i always do. so let me, okay?”
you sniffed your tears away. “hm, okay.”
"is there anything i can do to help?" his thoughtfulness was a balm to your discomfort, and you felt a little lighter knowing he was there to support you. “what you need me to do to care for you, babe?”
"could you maybe make some warm tea?" you asked, hoping the warmth might help ease the cramps a bit. "and get snacks? please?”
"yeah, yeah. i’ll be right back." he replied, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
you could hear him moving around, the sound of water boiling and the comforting clink of mugs being prepared. he rummaged through your cabinets to get you some snacks. he already knows what you like. but your mood changed a lot when you get your period. he had to be sure.
"you want chocolate, right?"
"yeah, babe. i’d like those. thank you, babe.” you said, a bit more relieved. you could see his red ears from all the way here. you grinned slightly. “it’s cute how you’re blushing.”
“i–i’m not, shut up!”
“how cute my boyfriend is!”
“cut it out, you dummy!”
he returned a few minutes later with a steaming cup of herbal tea and a couple of snacks, including your favorite chocolate bar. he set them down on the table in front of you, giving you a small smile as you took his hand and squeezed it. you knew you’d always be cared for, because he’s always here. he’ll never make you feel anything but happy, loved and comforted.
"here you go," he said, sitting back down beside you. "and i brought some snacks too, just in case you’re hungry."
you smiled at his thoughtfulness, taking a sip of the tea and feeling its warmth spread through you. "thank you, babe. you have no idea how lovely this is. this helps a lot."
he nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "it’s nothing, dummy. let me know if you need anything else, okay?"
as the day went on, megumi stayed by your side, quietly taking care of you in all the ways that mattered. he made sure you were comfortable, adjusted the pillows behind your back, and even put on one of your favorite movies to help distract you from the pain.
when the cramps became particularly intense, he would sit close, offering gentle words of encouragement and occasionally rubbing your back in soothing circles. his presence was a steady anchor, helping you feel less alone in your discomfort. he kissed your temple tenderly, as soft as a feather. everything about his gentleness made you feel so loved.
"remember to drink plenty of water, okay?" he reminded you gently, handing you a glass. "and don’t hesitate to tell me if you need anything else."
"thank you, megumi," you said again, feeling overwhelmed by his love. "i’m really lucky to have you."
he gave you a soft look, his green–blue orbs full of love. "....i’m just glad i can be here for you, you know that." he replied, his voice sincere. "i like taking care of you."
"i know you do." you whispered, leaning forward to kiss the corner of his lips. "love you, babe."
he blushed slightly, looking away. "…love you too."

ahhhhhh I need a mota ship please 🥹
i’m a total introverted, shy girl type when i meet someone and it’s so annoying bc once i’m out of my shell im like a total different person but it usually takes a persistent type of person to get me there. i love to read and study english lit, writing and poetry are just my favorite things ever. romance is just 😍🥰❤️ i love it. i could talk for hours about my favorite books or even movie adaptations especially if ive had a few drinks. im very girly and love having my nails/hair/make up done but in more of a muted neutral kind of way. i do feel like i have a secret adventurous side though, it just takes some time and comfort for her to show up. i used to date a guy with a motorcycle and going for rides made me realize maybe i have a secret adrenaline seeking side? ive realized there’s still a lot of me i have to learn lol. sometimes i think im boring or a bit of a priss but if im comfortable enough i feel like a normal person in their early 20s every once in a while 🥲
no you can't have a ship bugger off. joking. of course you can!! yk what all these mota ships have in common? ... Including me as the writer. We are all suckers for writing and romance.

Ima be real any man in the army air force definitely was naturally persistent and stubborn (and possibly arrogant)
I feel like you two would look so pretty together
like youre such a cute couple 𖹭
but because you have a shell people need to break through
...that means a friend introduced you two, that's the only logical way of this relationship coming about
he'll pay for your nails to be done
and if you paint them? he'll help you pay for nail polish because good quality nail polish isn't that cheap anymore
perhaps, you two first meet and he's just intrigued by you.
so he HAS to know more
absolutely has to.
so he'll be a quiet presence around you, making some small talk
because small talk can grow !!
it can become useful !!
the way he gets you to talk? books and their adaptations
he had to ask a friend of yours about what you love so he could get you to talk but
he did it
first date? a bookstore
he picks out a book for you
you pick out a book for him
praying that you get a good book
as for the adrenaline side?
definitely can handle that
you two can definitely do random things for the thrill of it together just because it'll help you wriggle out of the shell for a moment
I think that's the best part of the human experience doing something that makes you uncontrollably smile as pure joy fills your body
and that smile that you'll wear in that most is like the smile a kid wears when theyre in a candy shop.
so when he's able to get you to smile like that, he's so smitten
Which is how the first kiss occurs
it just sort of happens when you're in the midst of smiling
He presses this sweet kiss to your cheek and pulls you into a tender hug
he can't help it
when you're in love, things like that just sort of happen
He'll be there for you no matter the era of your life, he loves watching you discover yourself.
mwah love this dynamic
song ooo song ok
I think it'll be something light hearted but sentimental?
what about
with or without you by U2
That's a lovely song, I think?

Hello again! So, I've got one for you Fic-specific Ask Game! (For In the Meadow, of course. XD) For Want of a Nail: So, I'm curious as to how this would turn out. Instead of the insurance gals having to head out to send in their resignations, instead it's Vash and Knives who have to leave for a few days for Reasons™️. (I'm imagining something related to their past? Like maybe a bounty hunter has been sniffing around and is getting too close to the farm. Or one of the Gung-Ho Guns survived or something. Or maybe it's something mundane like they have to go find a specific part to replace for the Plant and it can only be found in December. Either way, they gotta skedaddle!) I wanna know how you'd think it'd play out! I can only imagine the absolute terror Knives would be on a two day road trip when he knows he's missing the first tomatoes (and also Milly, but shhhh! He's being stupid about that still!) And also what would the gals be doing back on the farm? (Pining away, I'm sure. Omg, I bet Milly will be a mess when the first tomato comes in and Knives isn't there. 😭) Thoughts? 👀
oh veil,,,, you have put many thoughts in my head....
Knives and Vash road trip
I think.... it would be something like the eye of michael is still kicking?? and it would give me an excuse to include Livio (I WANT TO PUT HIM SOMEWHERE BUT I JUST CANT FIND A GOOD EXPLANATION)
Vash would leave, and I think at that point in the story, Knives would feel the need to come. specifically, he still wouldnt be comfortable around humans without Vash (even Milly. I think the thought of truly being surrounded by only humans would freak him out).
Unfortunately, Knives wouldn't realize how DESPERATELY HE WOULD MISS IT UNTIL HE'S GONE.
him and vash all alone in the desert, away from humans (which is what he wanted originally) but he just,,, he cant help wishing to go back. he wants to go back so bad, so he and vash work their BUTTS off to get this business done and over with cuz Knives just wants his routine and his girl back
this,,,,, could also be a good spot for vash v knives conflict vis a vis how the both of them feel about murder (knives feels its necessary especially when taking down the eye of michael, while vash it still on a pacifist route, despite his kind of..... completion of Rem's memory?)
because i'm mushy and i like parallels, if Milly doesn't have her scandalous dream in December... then Knives gets to have a mushy domestic one.
he dreams about Milly in the garden and the sunlight glistens in her shiny hair, they have a thriving crop, and milly just has the brightest smile on her face when she spots him, glowing with happiness. he wakes up after milly hugs him, arms wrapping around his body, pulling him tight and brushes a kiss on his cheek
He wakes up just,,, starstruck and makes Vash drive them home in the middle of the night. zero impulse control from this boy.
Milly and Meryl back at home
this change means that milly gets to pick the tomatoes without knives.
i ... i could absolutely see Milly doing good, like holding it together all morning, putting on a show that she's alright. she gathers them with ease and puts them in a cute lil basket she got from her mom
but then later when Meryl asks her how many tomatoes she gathered, Milly holds up each tomato individually and tears just kind of fall as she realizes that its the first time since the beginning of the garden that she had to do the work alone, and it hits her like a brick wall. she misses him so much.
Meryl: oh gosh i thought i was just asking about the tomatoes I didn't see this coming
I think it could be the trigger that Milly needs to realize that she really does like him.
if im being honest, this might speed up the romance process quite a bit, because if Milly falls first, its over. She would completely smother Knives in like welcome back kisses and he wouldn't know what to do LOLOL
okay, to stick with the slowburn, i could see Knives coming back and complimenting Milly on the harvest, and Milly unwittingly admitting that she had missed him. Then, quietly, mostly because Knives doesn't particularly want to admit it to himself, he tells her he missed her too.
Milly, being herself, just takes his hand and kisses his cheek, probably unable to tell him with words.
and then idk.............. thats a whole new fic.....
ty veil !!!!! i really liked thinking about this lolol
#im all mushy now....#my heart T-T#i saw mads say earlier that they just want milly and knives to kiss#and same#but it cant happen yet#they have too much holding them a part#specifically themselves ripppp#trigun#millyons#millynai#in the meadow#asks

Piki and Rui Tanashia - Confession.
im dropping this bit of story here that i wrote yesterday because I actually really like how it came out - it'll be under the cut. Might do art based off it later:)
I apologize im not that good at writing hshhshsh especially romance stuff,
Characters - Len Marywillow (Piki's younger (by a few months) brother figure. 14. 5'1 (12 and 5'0" at the time of this scene) he/him, genderfaun.
Piki, A young genderfluid teen. 14. 5'1 (12 and 4'11 at the time of the scene) they/them
Xiao Lì, Piki's older brother figure. 17, 5'2.(15 and 5'1 at the time of this scene)) he/they, cis male.
Rui Tanashia, A tall, young trans boy. 15 , 6'1(13 and around 6'0" at the time of the scene) he/they, trans male
-Piki had simply said, "I still don't know.... Could this be-" they looked away after. Xiao had perked up. "In what way do you mean you get softer around him?" He asked, tilting his head. Piki looked at him, thinking for a second. "Well, I feel like... I feel like i can be at rest around him. Like when Im around you guys, but in a different way. I'd like to know what it would be like to be in his arms- To feel his skin on mine" they paused. "Or... Maybe to feel his kiss.." they let out a sigh. "Is this love...?" They muttered, looking away once more. Xiao nodded, he had experienced the same before. He had relationship experience as well. "Well, what would you like to do about it?" He asked them softly, smiling."I'd like to ask him if- maybe he feels the same... But what if I upset or make him uncomfortable? What if he doesn't understand?" Piki looked at their brother, a worried look on their face. "What if I hurt him somehow by saying something?" Len looked over at Piki, fidgeting with his fingers. "Rui told me something similar... He said he feels happier around you than he does anyone else. He told me he doesn't want to leave your side, or to see you sad." Len paused for a moment. "...to quote him - `They make me feel good, happy. I want to be with them forever, i want them to be happy like me. but, if that makes them sad- Well, I dont want Piki to be sad. I'll do anything to make them happy`- Its clear he cares for you a lot, Piki. I think you have a good chance with him." "Well, I'll go tell him then." Piki stood up, seeming a bit nervous.
Piki walked out of their room, and sat with Rui on the couch. They didn't really understand how to tell him, but they knew they had to. Rui looked down and over. "Piki? Are you sad?" Piki shook their head, looking up at him with a smile. "Not when I'm around you- You make me feel safe." Rui tilted his head. "so you're happy?" Piki shrugged. "I guess you could say that-" they scooted a bit closer to him. "I also, well... Feel comfy around you." Rui tilted his head, "Like... Like how blankets make you feel?" piki giggled and nodded. "Not exactly, but close enough. If that helps you understand, then yes." They broke eye contact with him for a moment. "I'd also like to know how it'd feel to be wrapped in your arms, you know, kinda like a blanket?" Rui tilted his head and blushed a bit. "Like- Uhm-" He wrapped his arms around Piki and put them in his lap. They nodded, their face turning red. "Just like that -" They then made eye contact again. "Would you... Like to be my boyfriend?-" they muttered, hugging him. Rui tilted his head. "I thought I was your friend?" Piki shook their head and giggled. "No, silly! I mean, I love you, I want to date you." Rui let out a small squeak, seeming to be caught off guard. "You love me?" Piki nodded. Rui thought for a second. "I love you too! We can do anything you want if it makes you happy!" Piki smiled. "Let's not say that, some bad people may use that to be mean to you." Rui twirled a strand of their hair around hus finger. "Well, what do I do then?" He tilted his head. Piki giggled snd gave him a kiss on the cheek, causing his cheeks to flush a bright pink. "Th-that?" Piki nodded. "Sorry- did that make you uspet?" They looked away. Rui shook his head and put a hand on their cheek. "How-" Piki smiled. "Just try. Anywhere on my face, it doe-" piki was cut off by Rui kissing them on the lips, then he immediately looked away and covered his face. "Sorry!-"
I dont have a good picture of their brothers right now, but here's Piki and Rui :)

hello, hello!! if its not a problemo, could i get a matchup for the MCU ? i am a bisexual capricorn, using she/her pronouns,, and my mbti is istj ‼️ i tend to stick to the shy part of the group, but i can be loud too, once I get comfortable with the people im with, and when loud, i do curse like a sailor,, and me and my friends do swear a lot on each other, but its all done out of fun,,
and i do sometimes snap at people when im mad, even if i try not to, sometimes its super hard to stay quiet. once i snap, i start yelling and then i just regret my words/actions,,
my hobbies would include reading (specifically books based on reality (love the godfather series) or romance (especially the angsty ones)), maybe studying if that counts? cause that's all I seem to be doing everyday, cooking (i love to decorate my food!!) and drawing and listening to music!! i do daydream a lot while listening to music
one of the things i hate is when i have to clean up after somebody (don't get me wrong, i do love to clean!! but,, just my stuff) or when im in a room with a lot of mess. sorry, but that just makes me distracted and unable to focus,,
speaking of that,, its sometimes super hard for me to focus and i do have to redo my things or re read something to understand, and the world can just become super overwhelming in a matter of seconds. i do have some fidget toys that help me, but i sometimes bite at my fingers and break the skin a lil' (to sort of get myself back to reality??)),, andd uh,, i am a bit clumsy, so often i do find some scratches/blood on myself without even knowing ?
and id say my love language is physical touch? i am a bit touch starved and hug people as a greeting,, id just like myself someone i could depend on and someone who would not judge me no matter what weird things i do/say,, and someone i could spoil rotten 🤤
thank you so much in advance!! hope this wasnt a bother jshhwhehdbd have a great rest of your day!! 🏃♀️💨 ((sorry if there's some grammar mistakes,,))
Definetly! And it wasn’t a bother, I really love writing
Your MCU match is…
Wanda Maximoff
Wanda’s also shy at first so she’d have no problem with it
Suprised by the fact that you cuss at first, but as long as you don’t cuss at her out of anger, she’s totally fine with it
She sometimes does the same with snapping out of anger
Wanda knows that you regret what you said later so I feel like she wouldn’t take some of them that seriously, but it would indeed kinda hurt her
She doesn’t really read, but would love it if you’d to her sometimes
Buys you books that she thinks you might like
Wanda isn’t real fan of studying so seeing that studying is your hobby really suprised her
Compliments you about how smart you are
Cooking? Hell yeah count her in! She likes to cook, but only sometimes
Wanda has a full acess to any kind of playlists and songs so she’d definetly like to listen to any kind of songs with you
She’d probably notice the fact that you hate cleaning after others immediately so she’d probably tell you to leave it there and tell the person who’s responsible for it to go and clean it
Feels bad that you’re overwhelmed so she’d ask you if you want her to help you by using her power to help you make you stop feeling like this
If you’d decline, she would totally understand and ask you what can she do to help
Always patches you up after you get acidentally hurt and mybe scold you a little for it
Her love language is also physical touch and words affirmation
Gladly hugs you gently back
Considering she only had her brother most of her life, she’s also touch starved so prepare for cuddles at night and random hugs from behind
Loves to hold your hand
She isn’t really the type of a person who’d spoil you all the time, but she definetly would do it sometimes
Random kisses on cheek
Wanda is very protective towards you and if someone hurts you, she’s willing to go full Scarlet Witch on them
————————————————————
I really hope this was okay 🫶😅
