hello, I love what you're doing with your AU. as someone who is making an AU myself, do you take somethings from "canon" and put them in? if so how do you decide how to put things into the story of Vigilante
GAHHH IM LOVING THESE QUESTIONS!! Fangirling aside, it really depends what direction and plot you’re taking with your AU. Time period, location, and main plot all are big factors here, along with how polished you plan the story to be.
Let me do some comparisons with my two AUs
Vigilante: I did want to keep main aspects of the game in there, but sometimes plot can get in the way of that so you really have to get creative. I won’t spoil anything but I did have to do this with a few main plot points in the game. Tom being Boris in this AU is one example: two Boris’s that look exactly alike would be very difficult to explain in the context of this AU, the only way I could see this working is having them be twins which is it’s own can of worms. There are a few other examples but again no spoilers. This is specifically a BATIM AU due to the difficulties BATDR provides for the AU, plus this AU was also made way before BATDR was released and I already had my main plot points done. I was lucky with the time period because early BATIM did happen in the 1920’s, tbh this is one of those moments where I bullshit the story and say “well in this world-“ mostly referencing the animation era and just moving it to take place in an earlier time. I don’t like to do this too much because I do try to be as accurate as possible, but in the end of the day it’s my story and I can do whatever I want😜. I also got luck with the setting too, correct me if I’m wrong but the cannon studio is in either New York or Brooklyn but at the time I actually didn’t know that so… Lucky me lol. I decided to make Henry’s backstory actually relating to the main plot of the game, he goes back to the studio except this time he’s trying to find Bendy. If you didn’t know, Henry also leaves the studio in this AU. I won’t spoil any more of this because I want to expand on the little man more in the future but that’s what I got.
The Void AU:
This AU was made 6 years ago, it is quite old- This AU was probably my first intro into story making so it’s very messy. What I mean by that? The plot is everywhere, many characters are flat or have no real goals or morals, Bendy was honestly the worst guy ever he was such an asshole (not in the cute way) and was the most toxic mf alive, the amount of Warriors references that are there is honestly exhausting and basically turns this whole “original story/AU” into more of an elaborate Warrior Cats fanfic, the many villains that popped up were super flat and boring along with every protag too, and finally this take place in a forest/plain/camp place and tbh I don’t even know what the setting is.
With that being said…
What I was talking about there was the “original” version of the AU, call it “Random Mess 1.0” if you will, since then I’ve changed many things about it since it’s original creation. Keep in mind, the Void AU you see is only one of the arcs in this full AU and it’s basically the last one, so many of you don’t know a lot of the whole world that’s in the back of my brain. I will tell you the changes I’ve made for the characters and story you do know: I made Bendy much more likable protagonist with goals that are much more expressed, I polished the plot a lot more than it was before, I made a few things more original and deleted a lot of the Warriors references (so many…), I gave many of the characters more expressive personalities which the reader would be able to recognize, I fixed the designs to match the fluffs personalities much more and to help make them more expressive. NOW BACK ON TRACK, I honestly didn’t have any of the cannon events in the game really happen in this AU, the only thing really relating to the actual games is the alt. designs (demon/spirit forms probably the only OG thing I created that was pretty cool, this concept is also featured in the Vigilante AU) I’ll show them here at some point but that aside, this was just a goofy, silly, story that I made just for fun so I really didn’t care how the story went. The Void AU you all see is probably the most polished part of the story and because of that it’s able to be cut off and stand alone as it’s own thing.
Ok, I probably went off track many times and started rambling so my bad, BUT this is sorta how I see it: Depending on the plot you can add and cut out things as you please, this also applies to the quality of the story you want to tell.

SPOILERS FOR GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK - The Daughter of Loki and Angrboda
So, with Angrboda, Fenrir and Jormangandr's appearances in Ragnarök, naturally I'm thinking about the third child: Hel, Queen of the Underworld.
Now, after the quest in Helheim, you can find out that "Hel" is more of a title for the ruler of Helheim then the actual name of a character. As is stands right now, the eagle, Hræsvelgr, is the current and longest holder of that title. And after the main game, you find out that in order to secure her alliance, she requests a replacement so that she can retire. And since the OG Hel is Loki and Angrboda's daughter, then that could only mean one thing...
And that just gives me a ton of ideas. Here’s my take:
Tumblr media
Atreus and Angrboda’s daughter, which in here, I headcanon her name to be Ursa, as a nod to Kratos being referenced as the bear to Atreus’ wolf and to Atreus’ first shift, which initially started Atreus on the journey that leads him to meeting Angrboda. And she is just the sweetest girl you’d ever meet: she’ll disappear for a day, freaking her family out, only to find her riding Jormangandr or playing with the wolves and bears of Midgard. She even makes friends with a begrudging war-horse with eight legs after just finding him sulking around the forest and just begs her dad to keep him 😉.
She can summon Hel-Walkers, ghosts and other dead creatures with ease. As a child, whenever she was sick, a pack of Hel-Walkers will just show up and stand guard around the house, not once attempting to take up arms, even as Kratos and Atreus attack, thinking they were there to hurt them. It’s only after Freya points out they’re not even defending themselves do they pause and realise they are here to protect Ursa in her moment of weakness, really driving in her role in the future.
She’s an absolute sweetheart, treating the Hel-Walkers as people in need and finding great interest in listening to the stories of spirits and trying to help them in any way she can, just like her dad would. She’s always growing in her powers of soul magic, even reaching feats that the most powerful of Giants haven’t reached. More on that in another post. Oh, and any curse word she picks up, she repeats with absolute joy and vigour towards her enemies and bullies, absolutely shocking her family. Mimir will ask where she learned such words, and she’ll just say "a friend".
When she gets really scared or angry though, she has her own kind of Spartan Rage: Her skin becomes a pale blue and appears translucent, revealing her skeleton, with looks like it’s glowing with blue fire, like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. This pays homage to what her OG Norse myth says she’s meant to look: half alive, half dead. Her screams become icy winds, making it so cold as to make even Kratos shiver, flails about like those Hel-Broods, leaping on her focus of rage and just scratching their eyes and face like a rabid animal. She’s lightning quick and as agile as a cat, able to dodge and manoeuvre around the most powerful of attacks. She’s very self-conscious about how it makes her look. Afraid that she’s a monster. Her family will be very quick to remind her that her form is not her nature, that she decides who she is.
I’m gonna dig more into this, but I hope you enjoy my personal headcanon. Thank you!

As of tonight I have watched/read/played every piece of media in relation to the base story of Persona 4 and here is just a random grab bag of thoughts from that experience. Spoilers abound, mostly for the animation and manga.
-the best way to experience the story outside of just playing the game, if you want to do what for some reason, is reading the manga then watching the Golden anime. The OG anime is a lot of mediocre to bad with pockmarks of good, not worth a full sit down.
-that said if you want to watch some of the OG anime go with all the episodes up to Yukiko being saved (1-4), mitsuo’s dungeon and the summer vacation duology right after (11-14), the justice and hierophant focused episode (18), and then all of endgame (21-26).
These episodes either do a really good job expanding on what was already there, introduce new ideas and scenarios definitely not possible within the constraints of a video game, do a super solid job covering and even improving upon iconic and memorable moments in ways only the medium of an animation retelling can provide, or just have fun or funny bits. My fave is def episode 13, where Nanako becomes a little detective trying to investigate Yu’s hectic life.
-I really appreciate how each version of Yu is wildly different in these medium’s. P4A Yu is kind of a dick and lame at many points, but has the capacity to be open hearted. Manga Yu starts as cold and distant but eventually becomes an emotional and expressive individual that fights for his feelings. And P4GA Yu feels the ‘manliest’ of the bunch with very strong convictions and a level-head with no fear to speak his mind or thoughts. A lot of tiny differences to enjoy.
-there is the consistent fear of abandonment and loss of friends in Yu’s character each series captures so differently but uses nonetheless. P4A Yu also abandons the truth because of his fear and even develops a shadow that represents that. Manga Yu goes between acting rashly and angrily or withdrawing and hiding his hurt when confronted with the possible loss. P4GA Yu gets emotional and trapped in the idea of what’s the point if he risks using everyone, feeling a burden of needing to protect those bonds at all costs.
-also the fact Yu is 100% ride or die for any wild scheme, even the ones he knows won’t work is a trait I’m glad exists in every version of him. He’s just happy to be involved.
-Also Adachi, the supplementary material really made me finally appreciate Adachi as a character. After interacting with him in the game I was never too sure how to feel about him, but the anime(s)/manga finally helped me grasp his character and how I feel about him. As well as why I see the various interpretations of him that I do.
-Marie being included in more things in the Golden animation was sorely needed and a welcomed addition. When the Investigation Team was saying how Marie is also their friend I could not help but think how the team as a whole had only met Marie around 5-6 times at most through her social link. By putting her in more major scenes this actually made her feel like an unofficial member of the group and I believed they were friends.
-I very much enjoyed the way P4GA handled the unification of Izanami’s two halves. I’m probably just a sap but I very much love concepts of accepting the rage and hate-filled parts of yourself and that binging them joy and peace, quelling that fury. Izanami can be quite the tragic character from interpretation to interpretation, so to see them take a stance where it’s not a fight but a comforting hug given by Marie to Izanami that defeats her, I’m a sucker for it.
-Yu needing to free Marie from a bamboo forest and the ultimate Persona associated with Marie being Kaguya is Good Symbolism and Foreshadowing™.
-while it was definitely only done for cool factor in the manga/anime, but within the context of game mechanics Adachi being able to control and get aid from multiple Reapers in his dungeon is mortifying.
-I have come to the conclusion Yukiko and Rise are mini-gremlins in two different fonts. Yukiko will do and say the silliest to the wildest things because it brings her joy. Rise is attention seeking in a pampered cat kind of way. I cannot expand on this sadly but I hope the vibes can be expressed.
-Naoto being very perceptive but socially oblivious and one track minded is actually quite funny and charming. This is best illustrated in the Christmas episode of which I will say no more, it’s a fun little experience.
-the ‘ame-no-sagiri’ in shadow Teddie’s head’ contributed nothing to the plot/story though. Kinda actually takes away from shadow Teddie tbh but that’s more a nitpick than anything.
-the anime shadow fights are good, but they are GREAT in the manga. They feel so much more personal and productive than ‘beat the thing so it goes back to normal so you can accept it,’ while also carrying they same wonderful flow and dynamics you can see in the animation.
I might post more thoughts if I have any later. I could do an analysis but tbh I would just be repeating what a lot of people have already gone over. I’d rather focus on my own projects because this means now my research is done and I can start writing my fanfiction! I’ll talk about that more later. Can’t wait to share it~

All right, the initial draft was too long to be postable, but here we go
TWEWY/Utena crossover, taking place circa Cowbell of Happiness on Utena’s end and sometime post-OG on TWEWY's, not necessarily Neo-compliant. (Don’t question the timeline too hard, it won’t hold up at all even with Ohtori Time Weirdness, but half the reason this exists is to put Neku Sakuraba in the Bad Therapy Elevator.)
The thing about Ohtori is that it simultaneously is and is not part of the existing UG structure. It functions, in many ways, like a UG under the control of an extremely powerful Composer who's exerting a LOT of control over the environment. (Which extends beyond the school proper into the nearby town and forest. The city from Episode 33 may have been another illusion or may have been Akio getting permission to enter someone else's territory, but the highway he drives down during the radio segments is still part of Ohtori's sphere of influence.) There is no RG in Ohtori, but somehow time has not frozen the way it would in an Inversion. It seems, on the surface, like a pleasant place. Imagination is refined and Soul is (eventually) recycled through the Duel structure. It has a relatively low erasure rate, an oddly high intake rate, and functionally ZERO people who leave except through erasure (the last graduate was a decade ago,) but Imagination rates are stable and sustainable, somehow. No one's entirely sure how exactly its Game operates - the line between "Player" and "Reaper" doesn't meaningfully exist, the closest thing to Officers are the duelists of the Student Council who are allegedly Players, the time frame per cycle is inconsistent, it's not actually clear if everyone taking part in the Game is actually dead or if everyone in the Ohtori UG is actually part of the Game and either way they're all interacting with each other, and the results are, again, completely inexplicable. The records are terrible, too. But at the same time, no one wants to know what's going on there.
Because then there's the part where its governors are arguably a step beyond 'deity' and more like loose personifications of narrative concepts. No one's sure exactly how old they are, or if they were human in origin once or have always been what they are. No one's sure which one is actually the Composer - siblings Anthy Himemiya and Akio Ohtori have shared, stolen, counter-stolen, freely ceded, “freely ceded,” and combined abilities so thoroughly over the eons that even THEY probably no longer remember how things started, or know who holds the power now. If you separated them, odds are they’d both lose their powers entirely. Policy is to treat them both as Composers of the same UG. Akio is definitely the one who exerts stronger control over the Duelists, but Anthy's the one responsible for Ohtori being a surreal timeless bubble of symbolism, dreamlike architecture, and bizarre animal-related shenanigans.
(The rest of the Higher Planes probably know, or at least suspect, how dysfunctional THAT relationship is. The abuse, the incest, the ways Anthy gets mistreated in her role as the Rose Bride, the million swords of hate. Using Duelists as sacrificial pawns as part of their whole game isn't strictly speaking a problem. The fact that any given Proxy only really belongs to one of them, but they work together with each other to manipulate those Proxies is much more questionable. But anyone who's interested in helping realized a long time ago that doing that would require either of them to accept help. That's not happening any time soon. It's easier and less frustrating to just keep your distance.)
No one likes Ohtori. It's allowed to keep existing mainly because the alternative means dealing with Akio and Anthy way more often, firsthand, and also because no one is entirely sure they COULD get rid of it. Doing that would probably mean somehow managing to erase one or both of the Composers, and again, they're more concepts than anything else. The Prince, however much he's fallen (or claims to have fallen,) and the Witch and Rose Bride and Eternal Bearer of the Swords of Hate and whatever much she might have been, once. But they all have a vested interest in making sure that it isn't, like. Expanding or anything. So occasionally you have to send someone in there to check on it, because the outer barriers are so strong you CAN'T keep tabs on it without going in there. For an Angel, it's safe to go in and come out.
Somewhere in the realm of twentyish years ago, Touga and Nanami Kiryuu got sucked into the hell nexus that is Ohtori Academy. Some time after that, their cousin Yoshiya Kiryuu became Composer of Shibuya. (Their names are written with the same kanji but officially localized differently, at 2-1 Joshua was outnumbered so I'm using the Utena romanization here.)
They're probably still in there! Time isn't real inside Ohtori! They won't remember how long they've been there or how old he's supposed to be in relationship to them! They may not actually remember he exists when he's not there in front of him!
... No, this wasn't something you get to refuse, Kiryuu. Someone has to check in on the hell school every few years. Go visit your cousins. Consider how lucky you are that you can still see some of your nominally-human family.
At no point in this did anyone ask Joshua what his cousins are like, or if he actually liked them. He's been on Ohtori Duty every 3-5 years since he took over and has been hoping for their erasure ever since.
And so eventually, some time after the events of the original game, Joshua shows up at Hachiko with a PARTICULARLY insincere smile asking if anyone wants to come meet his cousins who are studying at a school they've never heard of, because it's actually inside its own exclusive little nightmare dimension!
The Gang, understandably, Has Some Questions about this. Starting with "Why would ANYONE agree to that?"
On the other hand, they're also kind of morbidly curious how terrible something has to be for JOSHUA to call it a nightmare dimension. And the fact that he apparently has cousins who he's in something resembling contact with.
... Once Neku and Rhyme were curious enough to say yes, Shiki and Beat pretty much had to agree too, just to make sure the others get back safely (or everyone gets stuck in the hell dimension together.)
And so, armed with no information whatsoever and the Angelic equivalent of "Property Of Joshua Kiryuu, Do Not Put In Duels" tags, it's time for a semi-metaphorical interdimensional bus ride to Ohtori!
This will be a terrible time for all involved.

I think it's fun to contrast what is depicted in Challenge Of hades with what is depicted in the animated series and see what differences were made with certain mythological things.
Right! I was talking about that a little bit from the last ask lol! Like Demeter (who had a British accent instead of an American one in the series) mentioning Persephone being kidnapped by Hades (also still not sure if she was supposed to be his daughter in that, I doubt it since Demeter said “my daughter” and not “our daughter”, so I’m assuming it was just meant to be like the OG myth where he kidnapped her to marry her) and Artemis having the movie design and voice change.
I also love that Artemis and Apollo actually mention that they’re twins unlike the series where they don’t mention it at all (maybe they weren’t meant to be twins in the series? Idk). And Artemis in the game/movie was not only goddess of the wild, but also goddess of the hunt, so she (from what she said in the game) had hunting hounds and nymph companions which is a lot different compared to Artemis in the series who cherished and protected animals so much that she punished hunters (even though she literally dated Orion who was a famous hunter lmao) for trying to hunt animals in her forest (also it’s hinted a lot that she’s sort of a “hippy” in the series that loves nature/animals and prefers vegan/vegetarian foods and offerings instead of ones that involve meat)
But yeah, it’s really nice to see the differences of the characters from the movie/game to the ones in the series. You can really see how much they changed them for the sake of the series. Honestly, I prefer the movie versions of most if not all the characters. They seem more mythologically accurate and they have better voices and designs imo. I wish the people who had made the series had kept them, but I mean, as I’ve said many times before, the show is basically canon divergent to the movie, so I guess changing the characters wouldn’t really matter if the plot doesn’t even follow movie lore lol

List of names of EVERYONE before I forget them again
Main gang:
Red - current profile pic/red-haired ex-Hero
Yel - !nickname in canon! :| faced postman
Violet - your princess broke out of the castle
Mage - magic merchant mage
Deniz - ocean townboy npc
Elemental spirit person gang
Aoi- Water Spirit that somehow has pointy teeth
(Frede)Rika - NAME PENDING - forest spirit bug girl
Sema? Ciela?? Celes??- Windy winged pastel pal
Obsidian?? Idk I straight up do not have any name for the sad Fire man. Sorry dude.
Pixelart Gang
Iris - Pearl water witch
Pyra/Fye - NAME PENDING - classic oldschool fire witch
Deities
Sol/Neş - Sun goddess who desperately needs a new design
Ay- moon deity that‘s only based on the crescent one because I forgot moonphases were a thing and probs needs a hug
EXAM1 - NAME PENDING - not actually a deity but an alien that gets worshipped as one (or maybe it is?) aka someone take this concept from me please it’s too cool to be stranded here without ever getting used
Misc.
Koko- green gardening gal feat. Magic
Sakura- basic pink anime video game ninja
Chiro (NAME PENDING)- Lemon witch
Cursed
Kevin the desk job-spider centaur
Baby‘s first ocs
Tomato - baby’s first venture into oc-making. This is where it all began. With a humansona for a fruitgetable.
Mary(gold)- baby’s first venture into researching real-life stuff for oc things (in this case, what plants are good companions for tomatoes)
Etrian Odyssey
Arth- Hero 3 looks like a baby version of Marth Fire Emblem down to the blue hair but playing as kids makes me feel sad for them so Arth it is. Overworked guild leader just trying his best and barely keeping it together but turning into an absolute force in battle
Ferice- way too hyped Landsknecht (and basically beta-Red), very protective of guildmates and wants to make sure everyone’s ok (by bashing skulls in with her shield because its the only way she knows how to deal with negative emotions. Thinks Medic friend is cool af for doing medic stuff.). Also kind of a gourmet when it comes to food.
Lily- Arcanist done with life (the enemies‘ life, that is). Morbidly curious. Also just regular curious, but mostly morbidly. Loves experimenting both for murder tactics and food to the point of being lowkey sadistic. The latter is worse for Arth and Ferice. Outside of that actually pretty normal.
Kaze- Edgelord nightseeker whose greatest weakness is cute stuff. Tries very hard to come across as cool to hide it, which somewhat diminishes his otherwise naturally "cool and mysterious“ vibes he’s got. Has somewhat taken on a protector role to Lily. Does low chuckles more than smiles. Genuinely terrifying on the battlefield.
Meres- og Medic 4 my beloved, polite dungeon-medic, assigned money-hungry by random events involving money always picking her, across multiple games. Has so much patience it circles back to being downright uncomfortable in certain situations. Has the Head Bash skill and the entire guild is terrified of finding out what could ever make her it. Girl are you ok. This is the third ancient being inside a tree she‘s helped kill now, no she‘s not.
Honorary mention: Querty/Quartz- Alchemist who’s way too much into burning stuff with fire for someone who wants to fill out the monsterdex and has permanent -_- face. Also loves experimenting (Not with food though) Really interested in the Gatherings of the Labyrinth for its potential Alchemy uses, and the walking dictionary. Does most of the guilds‘ paper work, and surprisingly only mildly miffed about it since the others bring cool stuff back without her being in risk of getting trampled by murder deer.

Games I've played in 2022 in various categories
(Not games that only came out this year or that i only played this year, also not entirely comprehensive, some games removed because i only played a few minutes, some games removed due to moral conflicts, games can show up multiple times for crossing categories)
What pisses you off most about my ratings?
Ratings are incredibly arbitrary and do not accurately reflect the game. Just the number that hits me when I think of the game overall. Completely subjective. I promise. It's not an attack on u.
Love u have a good day.
Rating:
7-10: loved it! Wanna play it 24/7

Dear sweet,
better late than never I would like to participate in your 1kweek question game.
I want to ask: w u t. 🤣
w. What's the last anime you watched? Who's your favorite character in it?
"The Legend of Vox Machina" (It's not an anime in the classic sense, but the drawing style reminds me of one. I hope that still counts xD)
It is an adult animated fantasy tv series based on campaign one of Critical Role, which is a Dungeons & Dragons web series. I highly recommend it, it is really fun to watch.
My favorite character is Vax, 'cause he is a fucking badass with a soft core and hot as hell. And I love his voice actor Liam O'Brien.
u. What is your nervous habit?
When I'm nervous or very focused, I pluck at my lower lip, even pulling off little scraps of skin. It doesn't hurt, but sometimes I overdo it and pull off too much, then it bleeds a little.
I got into this habit 5 years ago during my bachelor thesis. My husband hates when I do this, so I tried to break the habit once, but I had a relapse after a few months and now I'm living with it. But everytime my husband looks at me when I'm doing it, I remember what I'm doing and stop it - only to start again a few minutes later. 😅
t. Where was your last vacation? Would you go again?
On my last vacation I went to Scotland with my husband and a friend of mine. We hiked the West Highland Way. If you don't know it, this is one of the most famous hiking trails in Scotland. We walked a total of 135 km within 8 days (including one break day). It was quite exhausting and at the end our feet hurt a lot, but all in all it was super fun. The landscapes were fantastic (we hiked alongside a lake and moor, through fairytale like forests and over hills), we were really lucky with the weather, we drank good whiskey in the evening and I love British food and people anyway. An all around enjoyable vacation. I can highly recommend this walking tour and Scotland in general as a travel destination. I would go there again at any time.
Hello again, my little lamb🖤
W: Ooo I think I watched one episode of that and life got me distracted so I literally forgot about it until your message now lol. I’ll have to look it up and try it again!
I’ve been sick, so I’ve pretty much just been binging studio ghibli movies so I’m counting Princess Mononoke as my last watch. My favorite character would be mama wolf bc she is petty and I love it. My actual last anime watch was jjk 0. My love for Gojo is possibly unhealthier than my love for Bakugou, but I’m totally fine with that. 😂 it probably has something to do with my sick love for Howl Pendragon, who essentially is the og gojo
U: Fuck, nothing brings out stress like the world of academia. I do a lot of fidgeting with my fingernails. Like I trace the outline of my thumbnail with each finger and repeat that infinitely until my sister tosses a fidget toy at my face. I’ve also been gifted fidget spinner rings which help a lot with that as well. However, sometimes thats way louder and more annoying to people 😂
T: I. AM. SO. JEALOUS. Scotland is like my dreammmmmm vacation. I just want to be surrounded by grass and mist and rain and whiskey and that accent. Just wanna seduce a sexy ginger that I can barely understand and live there forever.
My last trip was a resort in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was a compromise bc my sister wanted a trip that was like a spa thing but I can’t stand having strangers touch me sooo we went for a place with hot springs! It was so fun being able to hop into the springs any time of day you wanted. It was crazy relaxing. And it was cold there still so I was in loooooove. The day it snowed and we could still be outside in bathing suits 🖤🖤🖤 10/10 would recommend and now want to go to all hot springs everywhere bc I am ADDICTED
Thanks for telling and asking!
Last day for the game

OK, REAL TALK FOR A MOMENT. YOU KNOW WHAT GIVES ME NOSTALGIA, SEROTONIN, AND DOPAMINE LIKE NOTHING ELSE?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE FREAKIN SPONGEBOB PC GAMES.
I've only played Employee of the Month when I was 7-12 on my family's old desktop and I LOVED IT. I still have the game, but my laptop doesn't have a CD port AND newer versions of pcs aren't compatible with old games like this (F*** planned obsolescence) Modern Spongebob has tried to make more 3D content, but neither Sponge on the Run nor Kamp Koral compare to the genius behind these games.
Starting off with the OG, Operation Krabby Patty: Truth be told, I don't know much about it. According to the reference EotM made, this was the first game. I'm not that impressed by the actual gameplay since it's mostly a series of mini-games rather than a point-and-click adventure like the rest of them. But what I really liked were the cutscenes because of how creative and funny they were. Some of the jokes in here are funnier than entire episodes of modern Spongebob. The 3D animation in these cutscenes also wasn't so detailed that it came off as super unnerving. It actually looked like Spongebob but with more depth. And the best part of this was that the rest of the games would go on to use it's KILLER SOUNDTRACK. Seriously, I could vibe to the nostalgia of this music for hours.
Employee of the Month is the only game I actually played and it was awesome. The plot took you everywhere, you got to see all the different parts of Bikini Bottom including those you've never seen in the show, and it was overall an amazing adventure. You went from Downtown Bikini Bottom to Rock Bottom to Conch Street and Jellyfish fields to some kind of Beverley Hills spinoff near the Kelp Forest. And it would get crazy. Spongebob met with a Merlin wizard cameo named Marlin (a fish like a swordfish) who controlled the weather. He met an anchovy with 4,132 twin brothers that basically trolled him the entire adventure. He met a hippie who gave him glasses that sent him into Squidward's dream and turned him into the shape of squidward. YOU CAN'T GET THIS ANYWHERE ELSE. And the gameplay itself rocked. I loved going on these little missions to collect miscellaneous objects from different sources and interactions with various characters to move the adventure along. One thing I would do would be to point and click on every possible thing on the screen because there were so many details that Spongebob would comment on (Something these point-n-clicks have in common). And there would also be a bunch of easter eggs like these video tapes showing the animating process. It was AMAZING.
I haven't actually played Movie or Light, Camera, Pants, but from the walkthroughs I've seen, they're both at least as awesome as EotM.
Movie felt like someone put you into the events of the Spongebob Movie while also giving you behind the scenes looks at parts of the story that haven't been shown in the theaters. Arguably, I'm actually more inclined to watch the walkthrough again than the actual movie because it has way more content. You could play as Mindy sneaking out of the castle to help Spongebob and Patrick, Spongebob went into a cave and saw his entire future life play for him, Spongebob had to infiltrate the headquarters of invertebrate terrorists to settle a dispute between them and the local chiropractor, THERE WAS A MYSTERY IN A HOTEL WHILE THEY WERE DOWN THE TRENCH THAT THEY JUST BRUSHED OVER WHILE THEY WERE SINGING "Now that we're men"! YOU CANNOT TELL ME HE DIDN'T EARN THAT MANAGER POSITION AFTER ALL THAT! And the parts of the movie that was on screen was followed to a tee! It followed the dialogue exactly, MOST ADAPTATIONS DON'T BOTHER TO PULL THIS OFF, BUT THIS PC GAME DID.
And finally, Lights Camera Pants. This one was incredible and could have it's own movie because of how good it was. Spongebob is trying to get as many people and props together to upgrade the new Mermaidman and Barnacleboy movie. Not everyone is like me to try to look at all of the content in these games, but this one made it an INTEGRAL PART to try to talk to as many of the characters as possible because literally every NPC had a part to play in this movie. And that didn't stop the plot from going nuts because he went ALL OVER THE PLACE IN BOTH SPACE AND TIME. YES, TIME. THERE WAS TIME TRAVEL INVOLVED AND YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO HE MET. (Hint: It's from my favorite Spongebob episode of all time. It was a pre-movie special starring a certain trio. Sorry, if you still can't get it, you have to see it yourself because I'm not spoiling :P)
Bro, these games were the peak of the franchise and I will die on this hill. Some of the video games probably deserve their own post, but this will always have a place in my heart and childhood as peak Spongebob...

Since Yashahime is such a dumpster fire Im just gonna rewrite the sequel to what I THINK would have been the better alternative to the whole SessRin situation and also some story elements that could really be improved and would make this series alot better.
For starters, if we HAD to go the SessRin route then I would make it take place 21 years after the end of final act, Kagome was 18 when she returned to the feudal era and 3 years had passed at the end of the final act which made her 21, Rin should have been about 11-12 at that point, if we count 21 years from then, Kagome would be 42 while Rin would be 32-33, meaning when the twins were born Rin was 18-19, I know that might make ppl a bit uncomfortable still but atleast she would be a legitimate adult where you can atleast say "alright...Im KIND of ok with this, I still dont like it but atleast she is technically an adult capable of consenting and not a literal child being taken advantage of"
Thats if they HAD to go the SessRin route, then I would atleast make it done tastefully where it doesnt promote pedophilia, plus the old gang being in their 40s wouldnt be that big a deal because they'd still be capable of fighting.
Now for my PERSONAL take on how the sequel should have taken place, SessRin wouldnt happen at all, because the beauty of their relationship stemmed from this ruthless cold hearted demon who hated humans, learned to love and care for a small child to the point of nearly crying when he thought he lost her for good, there are all different kinds of love and the love Sesshomaru had for Rin was pure and innocent. He was someone she adored as her savior and caretaker and she was someone he cared for and wanted to protect, to me that bond was far more impactful and meaningful than anything romantic or sexual building up between them, but simply two people whom the other simply cannot live without because they mean THAT much to eachother. Such a pure and sweet relationship did NOT need to be twisted into a romantic and sexual light. Rin could have continued to adore Sesshomaru and he could have continued to check up on her and bring her gifts as he did in the final act until Rin decided she wanted to travel with him again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now onto the rewrite, as I stated SessRin WOULDNT happen and their bond would remain as it was in the OG series, so who would be the twins mother? well if we HAD to go the half demon route to show Sesshomaru's development full circle, and we didnt wanna undo Kagura's death because it was a critical moment for Sesshomaru's development, there were several other routes that could have been taken.
1 Create a new character and develop her over the course of Yashahime through a series of flashbacks as we unravel the mystery of what happened to everyone through the girls travels. If you want to go the angsty route you could have her die giving birth and have Rin raise them as a sort of surrogate mother figure, kind of like Clementine with AJ.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2 Use an already established character, one possibility being Nazuna, a human girl that debuted back in the early OG series, she had black hair and black eyes but as we see from Yashahime, the girls clearly didnt inherit their mothers looks as in the OG series Rin's hair was black and her eyes are brown while Setsuna's hair is brown and she has blue/purple eyes while Towa has red eyes, features that neither of their parents have. They also have a random red streak in their hair for some reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So based on this, Nazuna would be a good possible candidate as she was a teenager in the OG series and would be an adult by the end of the series when she would give birth. [Correct me if Im wrong about her age but she looks like a teenager, but if Im wrong then I would just adjust the timeline to where she would be an adult at the time she gives birth]
Tumblr media
Another potential candidate would be Momiji, true she may have been anime only but since this is an anime only sequel she is a plausible candidate. She has red/auburn hair which would explain the strange red streak in the twins hair. Like Nazuna, she was a teenager in the OG series so she would also be an adult by the time she'd conceive and give birth.
Tumblr media
Another candidate would be Kaname Kururugi, a game exclusive character, but the fact that they went through the trouble of creating a complete OC and fleshed out her backstory to such a degree and allowed her to build relationships with established characters, including Sesshomaru, its safe to say they could have incorperated her into the anime canon considering they already had an established foundation they could have just built off of and meshed it into the anime. Plus she has brown hair and blue/purple eyes just like Setsuna.
Tumblr media
Now that we have all the potential candidates, who's the one that seems the most plausible? In my opinion, I would personally go the Kaname route because she has such a deep and fleshed out backstory and they actually took the time to even animate scenes specifically for this game, so she does TECHNICALLY make an appearance in the anime, just not in an actual episode. And just like Kagome, she could have grown fond of the feudal era as well and wished to go back and somehow found a way to do so at the end of the Final act or maybe a month or year later after Kagome returned.
So going with the Kaname route, I'll begin my rewrite.
Being as Sesshomaru hasnt seen her since she was 15 like Kagome and vanished for several years, when he finally sees her again she will now be 18-19 when they reunite and a relationship would start to build and ensue.
Continuing where the game left off, Kaname would continue on with her normal life as Kagome did and eventually graduate when she is 18. She would still often think about her time in the feudal era and miss all the people she spent time with and bonded with there, one person specifically being Sesshomaru.
youtube
^ A refresher for those who forgot the Sesshomaru ending.
As she comes home from graduation, another Doll Festival of Wishes is being held and it reminds her of Sesshomaru whom she wishes to see again, she goes and buys one of the dolls and writes his name on it as she did when she first returned home, thinking to herself that its no use and is probably a waste of time, but with what little hope she has left, she does the ritual anyway.
Afterwards she goes over to her father to help him with the festival, who like last time asks her to go get something from the storehouse. As she enters the storehouse, the hole in which she fell through before has been patched up, as she walks through the storehouse, she walks on the patched up floor which caves in when she walks on it and she is once again transported to the feudal era.
Tumblr media
She once again lands in a forest not far from where Kaede lives, as she wakes up, she is greeted by Sesshomaru, who had saw her unconscious on his way to visit Rin and watched over her till she woke up. Overjoyed and also in disbelief, she hugs him which surprises Sesshomaru who isnt used to recieving this type of affection but he doesnt push her away, nor does he reciprocate by hugging her back.
Tumblr media
As she lets go she tells him how much she missed him and everyone there, then, noticing Rin wasnt with him, asks him where she was, worried that something might have happened to her. He reassures her that Rin is fine and that he was just on his way to visit her at Kaede's village which relieves Kaname. She goes with Sesshomaru back to Kaede's village where she reunites with everyone much to their surprise but they are all very happy to see her again.
Tumblr media
Anyway Im not gonna do a play by play step by step storytelling so Im just gonna mention the main story beats and you guys can fill in the blanks for yourself.
Anyway after the happy reunion and catching up, Sesshomaru prepares to leave back on his travels which saddens Kaname who had longed to see him again and only got to be reunited with him a short time. Reluctant to be apart from him again, she asks, or rather insists he allows her to come with him on his travels. He tells her that if she comes with him it'll be a dangerous journey for her, she replies confidently that she can take care of herself and promises to not be a burden to him. Reluctant but not willing to argue, he tells her to do as she wishes and flies off. Kaname hops on A-Un and soon follows, and the two begin their travels together.
Thats pretty much how'd we leave off the final act, atleast a month or two after, you can decide your own timeline.
As for what happened on their journey and how their relationship developed will be shown through a series of flashbacks over the course of Yashahime as we solve more of the mysteries.
In episode 15, we'd get the same flashback but with Kaname being the one to give birth to the twins with Rin, Kagome, Sango, and Kaede there for her as support. It is said that when Sesshomaru and Kaname found out she was pregnant, he brought her back to the village where she could have a safe pregnancy and birth. Of course Sesshomaru isnt the mushy type to stay there with her through her pregnancy, but he does visit from time to time when giving gifts to Rin but also goes to check on her and see how she’s doing, although he doesnt admit thats what he’s doing.
After the twins were born, everything plays out relatively the same, but instead of just taking the twins without a word to her, he atleast reassures her that he's taking them someplace safe from harm, although he cant explain to her right now what that harm is, Kaname says she trusts him.
As I said, things play out relatively the same after that.
As for Rin, what exactly happens with her? well if we MUST pair her off with someone, it should be Kohaku, someone she has an established relationship and bond with that is closer to her age. Whether or not they have kids I'll leave up to you to decide, but I like the idea of Kohaku having a little demon slayer son to carry on their legacy. It would be interesting seeing his bond with Setsuna since Rin would essentially be like a sister figure for the twins although they dont remember her, it would be interesting and sweet to see Setsuna develop a bond with their son who for the sake of simplifying things, we'll call him Korin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Korin, if we want Rin to be an adult at the time she gives birth, would be 4 years after Kaname gives birth to the twins when Rin is 18-19, making Korin 10 in the present. Like the twins, Korin has no memories of his mother since she was sealed away in a tree for whatever reason, so the only mother figure he's ever had has been Setsuna, which would be an interesting dynamic to explore since it would be similar to how Sesshomaru filled a parental role for Rin who didnt have anyone at the time.
Moroha would NOT be this uncaring about her parents, infact she would be insanely curious, maybe even furious wanting to figure out why they abandoned her and vanished without a word since nobody seems to have told her anything that happened. She would want answers and wouldnt stop until she gets them. The OG crew if we MUST have this mystery drawn out, would tell her that it would be better if she found out the truth for herself and that any answers they give her wouldnt be the answers she wants. So Moroha's driving force in the story wouldnt be about some stupid bounty hunting debt, although she could still be a bounty hunter, but her main motivation would be trying to discover the truth about her parents and why they abandoned her.
Also this BS with Koga giving her up would NOT happen, it just wouldnt, that is BEYOND OOC for him to do and I will not be having it. Instead, Koga would be IN character and not let Moroha out of his sight, he would treat her like kin like the rest of the wolf demon tribe, maybe even give her special treatment because of her connection to Kagome. Koga would train Moroha himself, not going easy on her because he wants her to be strong enough to fend for herself, concerned because of her being a quater demon and having her demon powers sealed, he’s hard on her to toughen her up to not have to rely on it.
If we must include Yawaragi, then she would be sort of a bodyguard assigned to watch over Moroha by Koga for when he cant. The storyline of the rat armor would still relatively be the same but instead of selling Moroha off to some shady bounty hunter which Koga would never allow or forgive her for doing, she simply introduces him to her as a long time friend, Moroha would take interest in the bounty hunting business as an opporunity for training, and potentially finding info on her parents since Jyubei seems to have alot of connections and intel that’ll be useful in her journey. Yawaragi instead of pursuing the key alone would bring Moroha with her when they are approached by the shady demon whos name I cant be bothered to remember, he blackmails her with the key telling her to fight Moroha if she wants it, Moroha scoffs at this telling him that she wouldnt do that and that they’ll both fight him together to get the key instead, but to her surprise Yawaragi attacks her.
Everything plays out relatively the same, Moroha is hurt at her betrayal and lashes out at her. Yawaragi, like in the episode uses this fight as one final lesson for Moroha, with full intention on dying by the end of it. Moroha is hesitant to fight her because she still cares about her as she was like a second mentor and somewhat mother figure to her. So to get Moroha to fight seriously she lies to her by saying that everything was a lie and that she never cared about her etc I wont go into a ton of detail, Moroha is reluctant to believe her but is eventually convinced when she attacks her full power, seemingly with the intent to kill her. This pushes Moroha to fight seriously as well, remembering what she taught her about using her clever thinking and successfully strikes her down.
After this she goes over to her and Yawaragi admits to lying to her so that she would fight because she knew chances are the shady demon wouldnt have given her the key and since the rat armor was close to killing her anyway she decided she would rather die by Moroha’s hands rather than being crushed to death by the armor. Moroha would be devestated and guiltridden since she is the reason she was in the cursed armor to begin with, but Yawaragi reassures her that it isnt her fault and that it was her own negligence to see through the trap that resulted in this outcome. As a reward for defeating her, she gives Moroha her sword [yes Moroha wouldnt have her sword until now] and tells her to get stronger with it so that she wouldnt have to rely on her rouge, but win using her own strength. Moroha promises her that she will and Yawaragi passes away shortly after that. Everything plays out relatively the same after that.
As for the twins their motivations can mostly stay the same, but they also wouldnt be so uncaring about their parents, or specifically Towa wouldnt. Towa would be furious at her father and want to find him and maybe even kill him for abandoning them and causing them to be separated with seemingly no regard for their safety. Setsuna can maintain her non caring attitude, but given Towa's upbringing in the modern era, it makes sense for her to be furious at her birth father's neglect after experiencing what a loving home and father feels like.
As for what happened to Kaname, like I said you could go the angsty route where she died giving birth, or you could have her be kidnapped and used as a bargaining chip to blackmail Sesshomaru into doing the enemies bidding. You could have it where Sesshomaru was able to prevent Rin from falling into the enemies hands but not Kaname. Or maybe Kaname sacrificed herself for Rin, agreeing to go with the enemy in exchange for them sparing Rin, which is what leads Sesshomaru to sealing Rin in the tree to prevent them from potentially coming back for her. You guys can come up with your own conclusions there, these are just some scenerios off the top of my head. But for the sake of the rewrite we'll go with Kaname being kidnapped and used to blackmail Sesshomaru.
I’ll make an actual rewrite in a separate post with how I would PERSONALLY make the sequel, this post is just me tweaking and making slight alterations to the way Sunrise chose to write the sequel, the separate post would be how I feel the sequel could have played out instead for the better.

FEH - Finished my 10th project
After having finally acquired enough [Hero Feathers], I decided to finish merging up one of my long-awaited to-be +10s, that's Eir in her New Year alt:
Tumblr media
In the end, I've opted for an attack boon, she does get 59 speed plus help from [Spd/Def Rein 3] and she can get two more points from boosts once I take them to +15, but she kind of needs to deal more damage.
I'll now talk about her and what makes of her my favorite OC in the game, as well as next [Heroic Grails] projects plans right below.
So... Why I like Eir?
I consider her my favorite OC and while it's true she's not my all time favorite, best girl, etc. She still sort of feels special.
I remember fondly the time I was watching the [Feh Channel] announcing the [Book III] thematic and setting back in late 2018 or so, I was happy with the new content but when I saw Eir, I fell in love with her design, but around that time, I didn't think I'd grow so interested on her as I'm now, but luckily, that's been changing for the better as the story developed and later on, she got her only alt so far, which I have shown above.
Her gameplay elements didn't have much of special but she still had respectable utility in the original form and our first Mythic Hero ever, but that's what not conquered me, far from it actually.
Over the time, I was charmed by her quiet and solemn personality, she often looks sad... but so is her story, which has its bits of drama but in the end, she stands up to protect her newfound friends in the Order of Heroes, she's shown to have a strong will in the cinematic of [Book III] after finishing it.
Tumblr media
And her design sorta reminds me of Idoun too, the real best girl of all time. But anyway, Eir is such a precious girl and I'd like to fully invest in her OG form someday.
I was remembering that, after [Book III], she had little to no interactions in the plot, however, she does appear now and then in [Forging Bonds] dialogues, I specially remember the one with Lena quite fondly, in which she visits a local village to aid the needed, there's an unknown woman who's about to give birth to a child but is sick and either her or the child have to die, but Eir comes up with an idea and brings Midori quickly (they know each other ever since Midori's debut in the game) since Eir knows that she can help with her medicine, she needs the most pure water possible for it and Eir offers to retrieve the needed sample from a spring she passed by while bringing Midori to the place with the sick woman. And they managed to save both in the end, without having to sacrifice either, she then, converses with Lena about the value of life and agrees that life must be cultivated.
She used to believe that, if one experiences incurable pain then death would be a boon, this is because she had a lot more lives but her mother (Hel) fed upon Eir's life force by killing her over and over until she's left with one life. Of course, that made Eir think like that, but in the end, she survives and joins the Order of Heroes under Hel's orders since she had a plan in mind, but Eir warmed to the Heroes and was unable to betray them.
But, in the end, she's quite the well developed character, not someone super detailed but as the story progressed, it was even clearer to me who would be my favorite OC, and that's her.
Build on OG
It's nothing so extraordinary, but here is what I could assemble some time ago, I just gave her [Windsweep 3] from my recently obtained Alm since I know from my alt account that this kind of build does wonders for her as a supportive unit.
Tumblr media
Now, it's not final and I'm missing some skills but so far it makes of her a healer of sorts and an area debuffer, it's slightly similar to the build I'm using on her alt, but that one is more offensive oriented.
"Do you have more [Heroic Grails] projects?"
I follow a specific pattern with them unlike New/Special Heroes from the summoning pools (of which there are mine and worked on in disorder, yet trying to cover what I need in my army).
First, I work on a red unit and fully merge it, then do the same with a blue, then a green one and a colorless unit, before repeating the cicle. I try to vary with weapon types but that'll likely not be always possible.
It's unlikely that a new unit will break this pattern, it has to be someone I'm so biased with, otherwise they can be put in wait mode until later.
So, since I just finished a red unit, that means I'll now work on a blue, that blue unit is...
Tumblr media
Rinea!
Tell you the truth, I don't remember anymore why I started to work on her, but I'm quite fond of her sweet and calm demeanor.
She's the child of a minor noble house with no so much renown, and the fiance of a knight in service of the "enemy kingdom" in the events of FE15, known as Berkut. They both do love each other, but there's not much of development given to them, specially Rinea who ends up being just a plot device. She's also a passionate dancer, if the chance to dance arises, she happily steps up to take it, this makes up for a few interesting interactions or revelations, like when she had an "audience" out of forest animals to watch her dance.
I was working on her ever since she was announced, but when Brunnya was added, it took me a little self-convincing that the latter would be the blue unit I want to +10, and I did, but this time I'll leave any talk and showcase about her for another post.
Ten finished projects
I strayed from the main topic didn't I?
That's why I try not to talk about another character while I'm covering another topic.
Here's my list of fully merged projects, tried to put them in order of +10ed from memory, but can't guarantee this is exact:
Tumblr media
I have a lot of 5★ projects and 3★/4★ ones from the regular pool, plus sometimes I start a new one, which explains why I have so little ever since I started with a serious account after rerolling for good, on Mar/2019 when Idoun and Spring Palla were debutting.
Sophia should soon make it soon since she's +8 but I'd also like to give something to Tailtiu, whose's Resplendent upgrade comes right tomorrow, can't wait. 💜

How I've decided to interpret Flameslinger's past.
Flameslinger. He's the OG Bowslinger Skylander and the Sonic of the Skylanders series. Most people see him as a show off, but really he seems more like a silent and stoic character from his idol animations (literally every Skylander in the game brags despite their established personality so don't use that as proof of showing off). This young archer is my favorite Skylander of all time, though he does have a backstory with many vague areas.
What we know:
1. That Flameslinger was born with eyes "that flickered like a bonfire". Basically what I get from this is that his eyes quite literally look like two flames. Apparently they also give off gentle heat, as they're described as "handy for heating the house."
2. He has a psychic connection to fire. Wherever a flame exists in Skylands, Flameslinger can use it as an extension of his vision, allowing him to see many fantastical and far off places. This may also tie in to how he aims so well with a blindfold on, as he most likely uses the ignited tip of the arrow to see his target.
3. Flameslinger wasn't trying to show off when he first donned a blindfold. He put one on cause he hated how people kept staring at him. I also assume sunglasses didn't work as well.
4. Flameslinger is a bit of a lone wolf. As Flameslinger grew up, he became more reclusive and would sneak out into the forest to keep to himself... practicing his new love for archery on the monsters in it.
5. He was always extremely fast, even before his fire boots. When he's running to save the drowning fire spirit, he's described as being "quicker than wildfire," meaning he must already have incredible super speed.
6. Then we also know he can swim and that rescuing the fire spirit gave him his enchanted gear. He's since had enough confidence to compete in professional archery, where Eon discovered him, but that's all that's left on info.
What we don't know:
1. His family life: apart from the fact we know he was born into a fairly normal elf household and that his family used his eyes as a heatsource, we don't know anything much about his family. Though considering Flameslinger would only become more and more reclusive as he grew up... I'm going to assume they did something that wasn't bad enough for him to completely run away, but also not want to be around them most of the time.
2. How long did he often spend in that forest? He's an extremely proficient hunter and he seems to know every square inch of it... maybe he sometimes goes camping there rather than going home?
3. What did the fire spirit look like? A smaller detail, but I'm always curious of this. Spirits come in literally any form imaginable.
Now that I'm done with this, I will share my version of his Backstory.
Story:
Flameslinger was born to a fairly normal family on a warm summer evening... while it's said every elf is born with a twinkle in their eye, when young Flame opened his eyes for the first time, his parents were met with two flickering flames, and thus the name "Flame" was given to him.
Flame grew up very uncomfortable around crowds... as his parents loved to show off their unique little boy and soon he was treated like a sideshow of sorts. People would actually pay his parents for a look at him and this alone brought tons of tourists to his village. As soon as Flame was old enough to play outside, he'd go wandering around in the forest more and more often, donning a blindfold to hide his eyes because he was so sick of people staring. His parents always tried getting him to stay home so they could make more money, which is another reason he was always so sneaky about his alone time, which slowly became more and more frequent. The tourists coming to the village boosted the local economy enough to build a theme park by the time he was fourteen, so it wasn't like he was needed anymore.
While alone in the forest, Flameslinger would begin to discover more about himself... he developed a love for archery and camping... he could see so many amazing places he hoped to visit one day... and he was really fast. Out in the forest he could be himself.
At fifteen he was out practicing again, when his third eye tool notice of someone drowning, but from their perspective. Quicker than wildfire Flameslinger bolted towards the lake and he dove right in, swimming quickly to save the drowning female figure who's faint glow was beginning to fade... when she came to, she burst into flames, revealing herself to be a fire spirit. She was, extremely grateful for being rescued, that she bestowed Flameslinger with two gifts, telling him that she could see his future and that they'd be of great use to him... noticing his quick speeds had quickly worn out his footwear, she gave Flameslinger a pair of enchanted boots. These boots would never wear out, but they also left a trail of enchanted fire that she said would only burn those with wickedness in their hearts. Then, she gave him a golden bow with a firey bowstring. A bow that shot flaming arrows... Though as he held it in his left hand, it burned him, so she gave him a special glove to hold it. After bestowing him these gifts... she vanished, leaving him to wonder what his future had in store...
After a while Flameslinger finally decided to start living on his own, despite only being 15. He needed a source of income, so he continued hunting monsters and began entering archery tournaments to win prize money... Though one tournament changed his life forever... as he drew the attention of a certain good portal master and dragon watching from the audience... the rest is Skylanders history.

Winter 2020 Anime: My personal ranking
Here’s my personal ranking of the six anime I watched in winter 2020, in a vague order of least favorite to favorite, with links to the full reviews (which are very short for some of them).
Magia Record:
Tumblr media
This Puella Magi Madoka Magica side story and mobile-game-spin-off-adaptation had some nice aesthetic moments and kept me watching out of curiosity for a while, but ultimately I found the pacing way too slow and the whole thing way too overstuffed with paper thin characters (and unnecessary cameos). The entire episode that was essentially a powerpoint presentation didn’t help. OG Meguca this definitely isn’t, I won’t be returning for season 2. (though if they have more transformation sequences I may be returning for youtube compilations of those. those were good why did we only get 4???).
Quick review here.
My Hero Academia Season 4 (Ep 13-25)
Tumblr media
My Hero Academia continues! I enjoyed seeing the kids who’d been out of the spotlight get to shine and interact dorkily this school festival arc, but honestly wish there’d been a lot more focus on them and giving them actual stories. Feel some trepidation about the direction the final episode is going, but manga readers say it’s at least a little more nuanced than it looks. Overall, season 4 had good moments but the high points didn’t quite reach the heights of seasons 2 and 3 for me.
Some more vague thoughts here. (I didn’t really “review” this tbh).
Somali and the Forest Spirit
Tumblr media
A story about a golem and the girl he adopts, set in a world where monsters run society and humans have nearly died out. This show’s wistful dark fairy tale atmosphere and tone was executed quite well, and is largely what carried it- especially the gorgeous aesthetics and lovely monster-people designs. The narrative itself had interesting moments, but was also kinda slow and predictable in a lot of places. The father-daughter relationship between Somali and Golem was quite sweet, but could have used a bit more substance. Overall, a solid watch, but likely to be forgotten beyond the surface elements.
Quick review here.
Chihayafuru 3 (Episodes 13-24)
Tumblr media
Kids playing Japanese poetry based card games and having a lot of feelings continues! This part of the season had the misfortune of focusing on a character’s downward spiral that I found...kinda tedious to watch a lot of the time, especially since the main character was so passive in it, and I wish the stuff with the adult players (while still good!) had ended less predictably. But I liked a lot of the character moments and backstory reveals we got and the show remains solid and quality. Even if this ending didn’t hook me as much to its previous seasons, I’m still very interested in seeing how everything continues.
Quick review here.
Objective Best in Season: Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!
Tumblr media
A visual feast of wonderful animation that features characters with bold, distinctive designs and equally bold, distinctive and lovable personalities, Keep Your Hands off Eizouken is both an anime about awesome girls on a journey of creative triumph, and a strong example of creative triumph itself. A great show I whole-heartedly recommend, it’s sure to be remembered for years to come.
Full review here.
Personal Favorite: Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun)
Tumblr media
Don’t let the bad English title fool you, this show isn’t gross, but is a lovely ghost story full of heart, humor and intrigue. It follows a girl named Nene as she befriends a ghost boy in her school and discovers a whole supernatural world. While it does have serious pacing issues (especially when you compare the manga) and some Bad Jokes That Don’t Land, making it objectively inferior to Eizouken!, I can’t deny this anime is what made my heart sing the most this season with its perfect combo of compelling ghost drama, atmospheric mythological adventures and super fun character dynamics. This is Exactly My Stuff and I’d like it injected directly into my veins.

I swear I will stop talking about the mural at some point. It's just images are easy to figure out compared to Sephiroth and Aerith lol
Ignore Cloud, he's always blocking a good shot of this. Just for reference the whole thing, which matches both the edge of creation nebula and the train graveyard ghost graffiti in front of the double doors.
One interesting thing to note about the entire mural is the left side is covered with flowers, while the right side features animals with a few flowers around the outer edges.
Flowers are Aerith's thing and animals are Tifa's.
Tumblr media
On the right hand side - oh look, a Cloti reference before I've even begun.
On the right hand side, the intimate plot between Cloud and Tifa. Which is comprised of several images and a butt load of symbolism. There's also other personal plot references for Cloud and possibly some plot arc hints for Tifa, too, but since we don't know her full background I can only guess.
This side of the mural contains the key intimate plot point because the lifestream scene is a key plot point. Without it, Cloud doesn't recover. Hate it if you want, but that's the truth.
The sun's rays burning leviathan, a water summon, which is holding a materia in its mouth and reaching for a shooting star. This is a Nibelheim reference because there's materia in the water tower, summon materia. And leviathan is a Wutai summon, and there's a rumour Tifa's mother is from Wutai. This image set is Cloud and Tifa's shared history. These are important past moments for Cloud. Nibelheim, Zack's death and his vow, and Tifa.
The peacock and stars. The peacock tail symbolises the eyes of the stars in Greco-Roman mythology. The peacock itself has many meanings including, truth, honour, beauty, kindness and integrity. In Christianity it’s believed their flesh don’t decay implying immortality. This fits the enduring feelings Cloud has for Tifa and how he sees her.
A yellow daisy, which is a reference to Zack. Surrounding that are six white stars, in an uneven circle which is identical to the one on the music disc cover for goodnight, until tomorrow, which I've spoken about as a Cloti reference in a wall market side quests post. It also refers to the line Cloud said in crisis core where he bid goodnight to real Cloud and became soldier Cloud. This uneven ring of stars is also on Tifa's ps4 theme, along with the shooting star. The daisy sits on the peacock's wing, which we know Zack said he wanted wings. Peacock's symbolise immortality and the ring of stars makes note of Zack's importance to Cloud because they are symbolising the promise to him to be his living legacy. An eternal promise.
Then we have a blank space, which is also an important image because the absence of something is also something. We don't know what happened during a five year period other than Cloud was in a tank and Tifa was in Midgar. Part of the story is missing.
The dolphin, whale and moon The crescent moon refers to the waxing first quarter, which symbolises growth, bounty and fertility. Its etymology is rooted in growth. It is a symbol of enduring purity and silver metal (Tifa's sub cores are blue/silver). The whale has symbolism attached to healing, wisdom, solitude. Dolphins also symbolize resurrection and protection. And coupled with the fallen Jenova star lying very close to these two, hints at the upcoming lifestream scene where Cloud's mind is healed.
There's also a couple of small swans on the edge of the mural, which symbolise Aerith and Zack.
The swan is a champion of marital fidelity.
Combining the elements of air and water, they also embody eternal life.
And they're on the very edge of that part of the mural because they're beyond reach. They're on the far side of that bit of green signifying the lifestream border.
Tumblr media
Now for the centre of the mural, which contains the central themes. See how that works?
The planet, Aerith's flower within the planet and meteor. Self explanatory
Zack's daisy, the peacock and leviathan burning. This is Cloud and Tifa's history.
A bleeding pegasus and rain. This is Zack's death.
What I'm assuming is a good vs evil metaphor between what looks like phoenix and some kind of dragon. Omega.
Ah, I found the blue and red stars that were in Cloud's eyes. They're materia on here. Dunno.
Tumblr media
Now for the left side, which should relate to Aerith.
On the far left is cosmo canyon, which in the OG was where Aerith learned more of her cetra heritage. Why do I say that?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think there's also an image of another building hidden behind those red flowers next to cosmo canyon, but I can't say for sure what it is. It could be the forgotten city because of how it's also bracketed by a forest and hidden and we saw in the chapter 16 sim that the forgotten city had plenty of greenery.
Tumblr media
There's a lot of negative space around some of the imagery and I believe this is where the linking plot points from OG are more fluid. It could also be a reference to the missing story parts the devs have suggested as part of the unknown journey.
There's the black and white materia, then five figures beneath them.
In terms of content, this side of the mural has a lot less to decipher.
The five figures, I think, are a reference to the temple of the ancients.
The other thing with this side of the mural is the abundance of flowers, which further leads me to believe it's Aerith's side because of all the language of flowers references in the game. Not to mention the butterflies, which appear during the language of flowers discovery. And then there's a children's drawing of her and her mother. I'm not sure if it's significant since it doesn't look like it's part of the trance art style, but it's present, so I gotta mention it.
And Cloud is hiding the historical reference to the cetra, but that's there too.
There's also a rainbow bridge, partly hidden by Cloud. Symbolically rainbows represent the path to the after life, as well as hope after tragedy.

IM BRAVE IM BRAVE IM BRAVE
I’m very scared to post this OC and I only hope people will like her since she’s kinda been a rock for myself.
This is Mapelle (Maple/Belle) Cookie! She started out as a sona but has grown to be more of her own character as of recent times.
She’s based on a Maple tree as a whole, her cape and ear tufts are maple leaves and her hair is meant to be like syrup. She’s also based on the Canadian Lynx, hence the ears. The saber tooth behind her isn’t actually her pet, think of it like Tiger Lillies butter tiger. Her pet is Snow Taffy Moth.
Tumblr media
Her whole deal is protecting animals, riding on her saber and following a pattern to free a graham cracker animal (they were used as units in cookie wars, and in a level in the OG game, which was my favorite!) I haven’t thought of a skill for her pet just yet but I’m trying too.
I’ve also got a costume for her, meant to look like a forest ranger.
Tumblr media
ALRIGHT ILL STOP RAMBLING AND STOP CLOGGING THE TAG BUT I HOPE PEOPLE LIKE HER AND
IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS IM HAPPY TO ANSWER
