gotta say, after hearing that vixx were concept kings for a long time, i had pretty high expectations when checking out some of the songs whose titles I've heard mentioned now and then for pretty much the whole time I've been into kpop... i think maybe my expectations were a little too high, tbh

#I've listened to three of their title tracks now and they're not bad but honestly like..#if they weren't talked up to be a legendary group and masters of concept or whatever...#i don't think that thought would have occurred to me #the ''concept'' in question is so far always just like.. a backdrop in the background #and maybe in the lyrics too i guess (i wouldn't know)#but it's just like... r&b songs with pretty standard boy group glamor shots and like #nothing really wild or surprising in the song structure or production #if this is what the ''masters of concept'' are like... then what does that make gugudan chococo?#lmao nothing I've seen from vixx so far has been anywhere near as hard a commitment to a concept as that #and yet gugudan are the ones jellyfish decided to fuck over #is the standard for both ''mastery'' and ''concept'' just different for boy groups? seems that way #dreamcatcher could do shangrila but vixx couldn't do odd eye #or chase me goodnight fly high you & i what piri deja vu scream or boca #this is another of my blasphemous posts but whatever

Hey I'm kinda new to the dc fandom and I've seen stuff going around abt like the plot of their mvs being connected and stuff? Do you happen to know any posts somewhere explaining the chronology or something? Thanks either way ^^

ah I can’t really remember any posts rn that explain it, sorry 😅

tho for the nightmare series the order should be: fly high -> you and I -> what -> piri -> chase me -> goodnight (-> breaking out, technically still counts for this, and if we count it it gives a more hopeful ending to the series)

deja vu is its own independent story

and the dystopia triology is technically in cronological order with the release (scream -> boca -> odd eye)

in honor of dreamcatcher’s comeback, odd eye, i’m rating dreamcatcher MV’s by whether or not they have swords in them!

Chase Me: a stunning debut! unfortunately, no swords. 0/10

Goodnight: no swords, but they trap a man in the mirror, so bonus points for that. 1/10

Fly High: no swords, but there are knives, which are also sexy, so. 5/10

You & I: no swords, but Dami has a cool cane thing, so bonus points!! 3/10

What: unfortunately, a severe lack of swords. 0/10

Piri: amazing, but could be made even better with swords. 0/10

Deja Vu: swords!! the sword even changes hands!! the sword is a major feature!! 12/10

Scream: sword!! Not as prominent as Deja Vu but the sword is there!! 9/10

Boca: no swords, but someone does shoot things, so bonus points for that. 5/10

Odd Eye: amazing comeback but no swords :(. 0/10

the dreamcatcher light stick: have u seen that thing? it could kill someone, easily. 10/10
