Mature PA Fashion Archetypes: The Princess

I will live and die for a disney princess moment, as I’m sure most of us would- as usual, let me know if an analysis of Disney Princesses is interesting to you! Today, it’s about the real-life princess.

Diana: the day-to-day styling of Princess Diana was often a white button-down shirt, blue jeans cuffed at the ankle, and loafers and a good belt. Alternatively, the same formula but swapping out the shirt for a t-shirt and adding a blazer. Another option is the university sweatshirt and bike shorts look that was all over Fashion Girly TikTok for a while. She rocked a good pair of sunglasses too. Of course, an 80s icon, we see a lot of shoulder pad action in her formal wear. A contrasting collar pops up a lot too.

Kate: To me, Kate is the one who serves the most monochrome, or at least, that’s what I associate her most with. I also think she really suits blue. She is often in Alexander McQueen, who seems to have a lot of black, elegant dresses in the hourglass silhouette that creates the sophistication expected of a princess

Meghan: Meghan wears a lot of monochromatic suits too, but also often wears shirt-dress styles in “masculine” colours such as deep green or blue, as well as neutral or khaki tones. Her outfit she was seen in at Wimbledon a few years ago has been cited as inspiration for spring ‘23: a blue-and-white striped shirt with pleated white trousers and a cute little hat.

Eugenie: Her style seems to be a lot of patterned navy- eg floral navy dresses, polka-dotted navy skirt, striped navy top. There’s a photo I’ve seen of a gorgeous navy plaid skirt with gold buttons and a navy blazer. It is often paired with white, however, the patterns are sometimes navy-on navy for a interesting, subtle contrast.

Beatrice: There is a beautiful off-white floral dress that keeps showing up from Ascot. It has a shirt-like top with puffy 3/4 sleeves, and two tiers of subtle ruffles. I’m seeing a lot of white and shades of off-white. However, for shoes, she loves a pointy-toed black heel, by the looks of it.

I agree that "in Germany your boss legally has to provide you with work while you're at your job" is a bit funny considering the German stereotype. But I am really annoyed at people who act like this is some horrible hypercapitalist thing on that post about pushing people out of their jobs by just not giving them anything to do. When really it's very basic worker protection (within the context of German emplyment law.) Because under most circumstances you can't just be fired from your job. Your employer has to provide a reason for firing you if they want to get rid of you. You also have a right to specifially the work you were hired to do.

So your boss having to give you appropriate work makes illegal any of the following:

a) Making you clean toilets instead of (or in addition to) the clearly defined office job you agreed to do

b) Not giving you work and then firing you for not doing your work

c) Waiting for you to crack under the intense boredom of having to stay on one place with absolutely nothing to do for eight hours a day while your coworkers are roped into it to shun you (or hate you because for some reason you're the only one who doesn't have to do any work) until you quit "voluntarily"

or d) waiting for you to crack under the aformentioned pressure until you do what the people in the notes said they'd do, like watching movies or doing a second job instead which is something you then can be reprimanded and fired for

Insisting that there's only one good MCU film can be a much more effective way of winding up MCU fans than insisting that they all suck, but you've gotta pick the right one. If you claim Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the only good MCU film, they'll probably just be like "I disagree, but I can understand how you'd feel that way"; if you insist with a straight face that Thor: The Dark World is the only good MCU film you can get them to write entire essays about how wrong you are.

so i recently tried to hack my ps2 and after everything i can say it's like, technically easy but the documentation is a godless wasteland compared to n*ntendo systems. one of the major forums has IP banned like half the world including me before i even visited it and most of the text guides are outdated but the more recent ones are 💀 video guides (also frequently outdated)

anyway so my friend and i decided to try to make a couple 3ds.hacks.guide style guides for the ps2. if you have a fat ps2 you can use the internal hdd guide and if you have a slim ps2 you can use the ESR disc method

there is nothing, and i mean Nothing, a kid loves more than being asked "what do you know about dragons." if you're stuck with a kid between the ages of four and nine ask them about dragons and you will have them going for at least an hour. nod sagely as they tell you that red dragons breathe fire and blue dragons breathe ice. take notes. depending on the kid you could replace this with fairies, mermaids, etc. but dragons is usually a safe bet.
