some people on this site have no idea what it’s like to face consequences over their actions and it shows. like. it’s bullshit. they get to walk all over people because they happen to be “popular” or have “good graphics/formatting”. a lot of the people on this site pretend to be the victim or goodie goods when they’re really the reason some of us are scared to branch out— the reason we have terrible ptsd induced trauma.

Tumblr media
Remember, as you continue in this hobby you will keep getting older. When you approach your 30s you will find that a lot of your middle school or high school antics will not work anymore. People get tired of adults acting like spoiled children in the RPC. You either learn to mature, or you get left behind. People who reach their 30s onwards do not have time for your petty schoolkid style bullshit, nor your popularity campaigns that tear others down. You either reach a point where you realize how stupid acting like a teenager is, or you unfortunately don't. In the case of you not, you'll just have to put up with people leaving you behind because they don't want to babysit you in your bullshit. People acting immature like they're toddlers or teenagers isn't a new thing. Hell, it's a part of the social media craze of "Karen's" and such. However, in a communication based hobby like the RPC people have less tolerance after a point. The incapability to solve problems maturely, to communicate clearly, or to even just act anywhere near your age will catch up with you in a multiplied form. Equally you are treading in the territory of adult consequences for your actions if you decide to escalate like a teenage bully. It would serve you well to remember these facts.

🔥🔥🔥🔥 :p
— i've never seen men shipped together more than in animanga and asian media spaces, which that by itself isn't a problem but within the context? eek. the fetishization for both gay dynamics and asian men is astounding. animanga is just a breeding ground for fetishizers and it's become so normalized now and almost ?? a trend ?? that i will see people admitting to consuming and liking things ONLY if it features a mlm ship, that they get off on it, that its the only thing that interests them, etc. etc.
— sorta kinda related to the above, but you never see the level of hype mlm get for wlw. you just.........don't. they're an afterthought. in the context of when people make the gay ships popular, and by default, the women in the media suddenly become "lesbians", it's not because they want to see sapphic rep or content it's just because they want them out of the way of their gay ship. i've spoken about this a lot and even in the past where it like, especially bothered me during the first kill era after it got canceled DESPITE the hype. mlm are more desired than wlw in media. it just is, there's been studies on it and i'll track down an old post i've made before at some point. but it bothers me IMMENSELY. it just comes down to preference for men, to misogyny. and within fandom or rpc spaces, it's always people claiming to want to see more or that they like wlw and they like women but it's not actionable. and in a sorta unfunny, disappointing irony, it's mostly fem - aligned consumers at the crime scene. just ... so many examples of ppl caring only about mlm, with women, and wlw by extension, just an afterthought. not really UNpopular opinion i don't think but def one that disrupts the bubble people live in. i've spoken about this a lot that i'm sure it gets old, but for as long as i'll have to continue to see women pushed aside, i'll keep talking about it.
— if i have to see one more need to get [blank] pregnant "joke", i'll actually start swinging. it was haha sorta kinda funny at first but its actually so borderline disgusting.
— the argument of "i think we have bigger issues than [blank]" is actually so tired. multiple things can be true at the same time. i say this because i've seen the reactions towards those who've made the same statements as i have in the above, and yes, there are worse issues than fetishizers, or whatever else is being discussed, but that doesn't make it less of a problem.

do you have any unpopular opinions about caleb?
to clarify: no one in the rpc is guilty of what i am about to explain, more of the general c/ritical r/ole fandom as a whole!
i wouldn't say this is an unpopular opinion necessarily as much as i do find it a bit frustrating that the c/ritical r/ole fandom as a whole sometimes tends to overlook or ignore what a bad person early campaign caleb really was. they sort of just simplify him to sad quirky boy who likes cats and by the end, he's less sad quirky boy who likes cats.
a bit of caleb meta under the cut because i am obsessed with him.
this is not exclusive to the critical role fandom of course, but fandom, in general, can sometimes ignore a character arc starting from a less-than-ideal place if they have deemed that particular character as a favorite boy who can do no wrong. this absolutely happens in discussions surrounding caleb and his character arc because he ends up in such a positive (or positive for him) place by the end of the campaign. it's very easy to ignore the low if you can choose instead to focus on the high.
as a writer, this is something i feel very passionate about not doing. caleb is such an interesting character to me because of where he came from and the growth he overcomes throughout his character arc. is caleb as bad as trent? absolutely not, but he was still a pretty shitty person and extremely single-minded in his pursuits. even if his motivations were noble (saving his parents from himself) i think we have seen from a lot of popular media that even the best of villains start from noble pursuits. not saying caleb is a villain, not at all, but you get my point. he was clearly struggling with his worst instincts and it's his friends that caused him to start looking inwards.
don't believe me? ask liam o'brien!
i've been watching a lot of old liam interviews where he talks about early campaign caleb and this one stood out to me as the most direct example of the demons caleb was fighting with every day and how he sometimes allowed them to win. when asked why caleb chose to do the blood pact with fjord, this is what he said.
“…he saw fjord become tempted by power and in that moment, he’s very much like trent, the man who molded him, saw a split second in time where he [fjord] had hunger in his eyes and thought that it could be molded or bent for caleb’s use. and thought, I could take a risk here….and use him and pull a favor out of this.”
this is very crappy and manipulative behavior towards a friend! liam then follows it up by expressing how guilty caleb felt over it due to his increasing care of the nein.
"caleb was disgusted with himself at that moment...i think that he was a product of his schooling in that moment. and part of him was like 'yes' but most of him went you fucking piece of filth. look at you."
was caleb, as a child, a victim of abuse grooming? absolutely. did this mold caleb into someone not super great? also yes. both things can be true and it doesn't minimize the abuse that caleb suffered. he's a product of his environment and that's what makes his growth so powerful. love saves people. he is genuinely changed by the friends in his life who chose to look past his mistakes and the man that trent molded him into and instead saw him for the person he could choose to be now. caleb is extremely kind and painstakingly earnest. he just needed the right people in his life to allow that to come out again. to allow the softness.
when caleb is talking to essek in the infamous forehead kiss scene, he is not talking just talking about the mistakes he made as a young teenager in killing his family, but he is also referring to the person he was when he met the nein. that is the fool in caleb's mind. not a manipulated child bren. he sees a lot of himself in essek because i think he sees how easily he could have become essek if not for the nein. and also why essek's redemption is so meaningful to him. if essek can do it, maybe he can too.
trauma doesn't define either of them.
i feel so passionate about this because i think caleb's character arc is genuinely one of the most powerful explorations of trauma and healing i've ever seen in a fictional property and overlooking the person he was at the beginning is a disservice to how far he comes by the end. the genuinely good person he grows into becoming.
"pain doesn’t make people. it’s love that makes people. the pain is inconsequential. it’s love that saves them."

🔥 GO WILD
Prompt: Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion. // Accepting. // @ccaptain
Tumblr media
I don't think that there's a single thing that I feel as strongly about, as my opinions of the following two lines: 'Every portrayal is equal' and 'There are multiple interpretations of a character'. I think that they both play into harvesting and perpetuating the worst mentalities on Tumblr: insecurity and egos. I disliked the PSAs about the former back in 2013, I hated the transition of the former to the latter in 2015/2016, and I hate how the latter still seems to resonate around the RPC as if it's some sort of bible that does anyone any good. And before any potential 'but Sae, those are two different things', no, not really, they play into the same concept, it's simply the phrasing that changes to make it all the more mentally inclusive and sound more socially welcoming. But a bad message remains a bad message no matter how pretty its packaging is. It all plays into not wanting to hurt people's feelings, which I fully understand and it's even a noble cause at its basis, but coddling doesn't help people, it never has, and it has and will only continue to make people more sensitive (which is a topic for a different salt send-in), all the while demotivating and utterly frustrating others. I'm sorry folks, but not every portrayal is equal, there are people who will create a blog merely because a character is hot, or for social political reasons of 'look at me', or because they simply ache to write a fandom's popular ship, and they disappear as quickly as they come when the 'urge' has been fulfilled. Those, for instance, are not equal to people who put a lot of time into their portrayals, and I'm not saying that everyone needs to live up to the latter, but don't be telling me that everyone is equal on the mere premise that they all 'exist' and we should 'all support one another'. Not every portrayal is equal, not everyone's writing is equal, and people's understanding of a character will not always be equal. And these things aren't subjective, they are factual. There can be such clear differences between portrayals and ignoring them is actually doing an injustice to every single depiction out there. If you tell a blog that does minimal writing and seems to not have a great understanding of the character (yet?), or the worst one: seems to really not care— that they’re equal to everyone else, then you’re telling them, for starters, that they could have nothing to improve on. And trust me, I’ve seen it happen time and time again, people will not put in effort to improve if you tell them that there’s nothing to actually better. And of course simultaneously, you demotivate the ones that have stuck around for years and put much time into what they do on Tumblr. And that sucks pretty hardcore.
Now luckily, that first line has somewhat died out, but now in its stead, we're left with 'There are multiple interpretations of a character'. I don't know whether it's worse, better, or just equally as bad of a take. I vote for... worse, actually. — No, no one will ever convince me that if they wrote an OC, and then released them to the world, that they'd be okay if RPers anywhere would claim that one can read their OC multiple different ways. I've seen RPers on Tumblr blow up over much less. What I need people to realize and remember, is that all creators and writers alike, have an intent with their characters, and that isn't subjective. Just like personality traits aren't subjective. For instance, one can't look at Veritas Ratio and go 'he's confident' and have someone else state 'he's insecure', and say that both are factually true and that both takes are equal in 'value' if we look at accuracy, because they're not. They cannot both be true, and I'm not talking about minor details that can be considered to be 'exceptions', I'm talking about the rule. What I need people to admit to, more often than not, is that it seems to have become a common take to conflate what they want a character to be like with what they actually are. I sometimes can look at a character and objectively go 'I wish they had done this instead, focusing on this and this, or this part of their personality'. but if I then choose to portray the character like that instead, it doesn't mean that it's what the character that we ultimately see on screen is actually like. And admitting that it's not the case isn't a bad thing, being canon divergent isn't a bad thing, but it is entirely different from intending to write the character based on what we actually see.

Of course canon characters are going to get more attention then oc's. We know the characters, people know them, especially in fandoms built around the characters.
With original characters we have to get to know them over time. Read about them, interact with them. It's just common sense. That does not mean the rpc does not appreciate ocs. I challenge you to find a more beloved character in the hazbin rpc then Gritt for instance.
Ocs by their nature mean you have to walk up hill with them and do all the work. It's not canon favoritism, it's just everyone is exposed to them so of course people will know them and know they want to interact with them or not. Plenty of canons are not popular, and plenty of ocs are. Canons will always have an edge, that does not mean everyone likes them less. We just know of canons going into interactions so much more.

I see people asking a lot about affiliates and if anyone wants to be affiliates and figured I'd just make a post. I know people use terms interchangably but they're not actually interchangable. The terms refer to specific things and I think a lot of people are new to the Tumblr rpc and just making guesses on how things work based on what they're seeing. There's also less rp helper blogs in general so some of this stuff fell out of common knowledge / people don't have the context on why the terms are such.
Mains: people you prioritize when doing replies. This is usually discussed between muns, and often is something that develops naturally. Sometimes they may be referenced in other replies or asks but not always.
Exclusive: I will only write that character with you. So it would be like me, an Alastor, only interacted with one Vox blog and did not interact with other Vox. As with mains, it's usually something discussed between muns and develops naturally.
Affiliates: a closed rp group. These are NOT mains but it's what people often get it mixed up with. Affiliates means that you are sharing your main verse with this group. That the events that happen on their blogs influence your own and vice versa. That these other blogs are INTEGRAL to your blog's main verse. That when you get an ask about a character, you will reply referencing the blog within the group. The term is from when there were two kinds of blogs in the rpc community, independent and affiliated. Affiliated blogs went down in popularity as Discord rose, since the groups just moved to servers instead. Generally to get on with an affiliated group you have to apply, and keep up a level of activity. There are often events for only that group, and they don't often allow duplicates.
Bonus:
Group verse: the independent's answer to affiliates. This may or may not be closed. An example of a closed verse would be the war on heaven one that I think cast-you-dxwn and hellsirenqueen are running. Single muse slots, by invitation only not everyone can participate. An example of an open one would be staticintone's RAM one. A group verse may or may not be the blog's main verse, and is usually only listed on their verses page and tagged with the verse tag when used.
Even if people don't quite know the reasoning for it, labeling people as affiliates when you mean mains tends to ostracize since the assumption is 'oh they they are already rping with my character, no point in interacting'. If that's your intent with affiliates, go for it. Otherwise maybe rethink the terminology you're using. As writers, we know how important word choice and accuracy is. Hopefully having a little context helps!

https://www.tumblr.com/roleplayhonestybox/763225310316609536/why-are-mf-pairings-so-stigmatized-here-i-get?source=share Some people might judge them because a lot of m/f pairings boil down to: a male character being hot and dominant against a female character who serves as a self-insert of the writer who wants to write their fantasies. Nothing wrong with that, rp is really all about wish fulfilment. But people get tired of their ocs being reduced to a love interest and people get tired of self insert characters and plots that revolve around that when they want to explore their male character as well or write a story that doesn't prioritise romance or revolve around the f. Not all m/f pairings are like this and this is the same case for every pairing in the rpc, but you'll just see it more with m/f pairings because there's more of them, and more people seeking to play solely the female role for wish fulfilment. If you want to play your male oc and get 50 hits across all the rp finders, you're going to get 30-40 self inserts hoping your oc will fit their desires rather than original, fleshed out female characters and writers who are willing to explore the male character as well, not just the female one or not just write a romance story for the fem muse. Plus, when there's less male muses/writers out there, people will double which can often boil down to something really transactional where neither of you really care about the other's character or story, you're just doing that to get a reply for your own. Writing your female muse means you're getting what you want from the rp, so you see nothing wrong and have no reason to think more about it; but people writing the male muse, or a female muse that's being reduced in a doubling situation, obviously will, so they come here to vent; so (some) f writers see this judgement and think it's unfair and harsh. This isn't a thing for straight pairings and definitely not because they're straight; it's because of poor or unfair writing that's more common because that's a more popular pairing. There's tons of posts on this blog of people explaining exactly this and talking about their experiences if you're willing to read them. Trying to offer you a genuine response and some perspective on the matter though rereading your post I'm not sure you're actually looking for that rather than just venting about the belief of "straight hate" and shading lgbt pairings.

Name any three things about the rpc that bother you.
How has rp changed you personally?
listen. i am a hater. take these generally.
i think it's gotten so inaccessible in recent years re: aesthetics. i'm not saying i wanna go back to 2012 rp where we just used whatever sized gifs and text and nothing was ever formatted, but like... why even use icons if they're 75 x 75 and the overlay is blood red. baby, that's a red square and it gives me nothing! just use nothing!
i hate container themes. this one is less serious, i don't actually care if someone has one, but i just don't like them and i hate that they ever got popular.
i know this might be controversial: *i* don't care what other people write about. i don't think it reflects them as a person to the level that some people do, but i understand the other perspective and respect it.
how has roleplay changed me?
i think i've changed for the better. it's introduced me to ideas i wouldn't have been otherwise and it gave me space for a release when i was at my lowest. it's also made the way i approach characters change, because now i know i should probably sit with the idea for a while before charging into it fully lol
mostly, it's made me more compassionate. i care a lot about people, but i used to be angry and snap at the smallest thing. now i'm much more patient and i don't take things as seriously. it's also helped me more fully conceptualize that there's other people on the other side of the computer with full lives. also i have a hobby i can do that doesn't hurt my body! mostly!
sorry for the tiny ramble, i've been roleplaying for so long that it's hard to think about me... before doing it

(from this post) ♻☎☠♦
♻ any advice on improving Tumblr RP experience?
Tumblr media
((I would say it's a good idea to plot or if you're winging it, roll with the punches. If there's a certain way you want your muse to be perceived, you need to accept that not everyone will see them the way you want them to. If you want to control absolutely everything, you're better off writing a fanfic.))
☎ What do you think of bias lists?
((Do people even still do those? I sure don't mostly because it'd be too easy to forget someone and make them feel bad.))
☠ What keeps you happy?
((Hmm... I think it's mostly a love for my muses and my friends. If I wanted to be "popular" I would say I failed at that lol. Formatting? Fancy aesthetic? Don't know her.))
♦ How has roleplaying on Tumblr improved since you started out?
((In terms of the Precure corner of the rpc, it's become more chill and less clique-y. Depending on who you ask, I may have scared off the clique by being a dumbass 19 year-old oops.))

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion. Bonus points if you include a topic. ( IE. shipping, roleplaying, ect. )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay. I struggled to come up with some topics to talk about for a while plus just issues through the entirety of this week. BUT I FIGURED IT OUT.
🔥 - PROMOS. tbh, promo's main use were to help roleplayers find other roleplayers, to spread the word about your blog and find more partners and people to make friends and broaden your experiences with learning about new and exciting fandoms. Now I just find them tedious, and annoying to make. if you aren't a popular blog the odds of your promo being reblogged and spread around is so minimal. it also just feels like clout chasing at this point. and yeah nothing wrong with reblogging your promo and having your friends hype you up, but then ppl wonder why they think the rpc is so alienating? cuz someone else will reblog their promo's expecting the same thing and they don't get it and then they feel left out. but if its just so you can get some nice thrown at you, it just feels like more clutter for my dash especially if I'm already following you. now if you're a NEW blog. if you just joined a fandom, and you want some exposure, I'm down for that because that is what a promo is supposed to be for.
🔥 - Personals. I actually like personals. sometimes personals care more about what I post than my own followers. i get ppl being upset if they reblog their threads, but liking your posts? and maybe reblogging a headcanon or something but idk i guess for me that stuff just doesn't bother me. I love when people reblog my headcanon and they agree. or they add onto it, with their own thoughts. or they tell me how much they love it. makes me feel seen. makes me feel cool. i just think people forget that tumblr is NOT a roleplay site. yes, we found a use to tailor it to our hobby, that doesn't mean everyone who comes across our blogs know that. they arent apart of our community, what makes you think they have to abide our guidelines for it? tbh, roleplayers have just gotten entitled to thinking that tumblr is supposed to bow to our whim. we share a space with non roleplayers. to demand, and just expect ppl are just going to see your rules and read them and respect it rght away?? come on ya'll. we know to look for rules cuz its what we've been doing for years, but you can't expect that from strangers who are likely mobile bound just seeing something you wrote in the tags. its gonna happen. i just dont like the mannerisms some people have with them. you dont gotta be rude about it. if its really bothering you just block them and be done. problem solved. going out of your way to make posts about how annoying they are is just unnecessary.
🔥 - duplicates. this is one is gonna get me fired but oh well. Ya'll we have GOT to love ourselves better. because it is plain and simple insecurity for why people feel they cant talk or write with duplicates. i know it does deeper in some cases, like your current partner leaving you for the shinny new roleplayer of the same muse you write. believe me I've been there. but fuck those people. when are we gonna stop letting others dictate how we feel about ourselves? i hate seeing shit when a new roleplayer pops up with the same muse and suddenly you get the vaguing posts about 'suddenly feeling very doubtful of my portrayal' like its not obvious you are threatened. and in this fandom??? we're i follow like 30 different alastors?? lucifers?? Angels"?? all different, all got something to add and share. i got news for you but your portrayal isnt the only ONE. its not the end all be all. and yes I talk to my ego all the time, cuz there are some muses i write where i'm like I AM THE GOD FATHER OF THIS MUSE. but thats me and my own pride, doesnt mean anyone else who writes this muse is less than me. or i'm suddenly less than them. and there are portrayals i dont fuck with. i simply just do not look their way. but theres always muses i love roleplaying with duplicates cuz its FUN. also being able to talk to people who love this muse as much as you?? learn to stop looking at everything like its a competition and things will not be as stressful. its what makes this hobby unfun when you let those insecurities eat you up. im not saying its not valid, and im not saying you cant be upset, but what does it really do for you? what would happen if you just went and talked to them? imagine it goes well? you make a new friend. dont deny yourself opening a door just because you are scared of what 'might' be behind it. and its something I am learning and teaching myself. our issue is we all wanna be see, and heard. we all wanna be the absolute best. we wanna have the best portrayal like this sort of acknowledgement does anything. cuz while I know ppl love my own portrayals, still doesn't change the fact that i got issues and i cry myself to sleep still. the 'love' i get on here, ain't a fix. and if you think seeking validation on tumblr dot com is gonna fix you? its not. the attention and love we seek on here is just a placeholder, its us using this as a distraction from actually fixing our problems, and turn i still see how so many of us are unhappy. let it go.

Tumblr media
motivation to rp is not here anymore no matter how hard i try to keep it alive or how much i loved it. i post headcanons, even going lengths to do it when the dash is active, it's like i'm being shadowbanned while even ooc posts from the 'popular' blogs get notes upon notes from the same mutuals we share. then there are the times when some mutual reblogs a meme to be sent in, and it gets pretty obvious that my ask gets skipped over. the first few times i can assume tumblr ate them, or they so coincidentally stopped checking their inbox, but every one of them every time even after they reblog the same meme again and get a new bunch of asks for it? all while they reblog or post psas about how they love all their mutuals and they follow because they want to interact etc etc and again it must be that they just forgot our conversations or plots or threads, again. i feel like that extra who they keep around to get one more figure on their notes or follower count, but i admit it's hard to leave because for one they always sound friendly and decent the rare moments we exchange maybe three lines, and for another this part of the rpc is so small that if i were to unfollow everyone who did this, i would end up with three remaining inactive mutuals, and i still won't be able to avoid seeing them around even if i try to find other blogs to follow. i do expect to be soft blocked sooner or later though, as that is what happened twice in less than half a year by two of the same type of people, without any warning. it just feels very disheartening that even when i've tried to keep staying positive and gathering courage to initiate or restart things, it'll never make a difference. i just have to learn to give up.

MUNDAY # QUESTIONS — accepting !!
also asked by @thewomanwholaughed !
Tumblr media
17 — fanon interpretations
// okay, it’s time for me to be an absolute hater and not in the way you may think because I’m so sick of people ragging on fanon interpretations . it’s rampant in comic book fans especially, I’ve noticed ever since I (kinda but not rly) joined the deecee fandom . (THOUGH I don’t see people being like this in the RPC, at least the people I interact with, which I’m very very happy about)
// I can’t tell you how much I see comic fans absolutely tearing down other fans because of their interpretations or headcanons, or how extreme the gatekeeping can be . I’ve seen entire blogs that are JUST tearing other comic fans down when they could rly just post their interps without making it a dunk on other people . like, comics are some of THE MOST inconsistent, long form, confusing, and contradictory sources of canon EVERRRR, and yet people still want to pretend like ‘fanonizing’ is a big deal at all when I rly don’t think it is . comics are not easily accessible . there is so much to read even for less popular characters, and not everybody has that time or the capabilities to read that much . AND WE ALL KNOW HOW FUCKASS COMICS CAN BE ………. Like literally nothing is set in stone for ANY of these mfers, literally any interpretation of a comic character ever is gonna be a fanon interpretation . comics should in all fucking honesty be the LAST source material anyone should be harping about “being accurate to canon” or consuming all content there is to consume, especially something as huge as DC . Like . I genuinely don’t understand .
// if someone enjoys reading everything there is to read and knowing a ton about canon, that’s fine . if someone has a certain interp in their head of characters or whatever, that’s fine . but I find it literally SO insane anyone expects anyone, let alone entire fandoms, to know everything about any canon . people don’t need to cater to someone’s interps or hcs because they’ve read more comics, literally just let people have fun, these comics are absolute bullshit for finding consistent characters anyway lol . if someone doesn’t like an interp or hc literally no one is forcing them to look at it or engage with it . if it’s not hurting anyone, it rly should not matter at all to people . we are ALL making shit up no matter how much people think they’re “sticking to canon” .
// people can come up with SUCH amazing interps and headcanons, and usually that’s DESPITE canon and not because of it . no matter how much someone knows about canon, if you can not be a dick about it, I really don’t care . I love fanon interps, I love stuff the fandom can come up with, I love headcanons and straight up making shit up or basically making canons ocs . I also love people who have rly faithful interps or know literally everything about comics, it’s incredibly impressive . but if I hear one more person complain about “fanonizing” or post a gatekeepy ass post on my dash I may pop a blood vessel fr .
// tldr fanon is cool actually, do what you want im the ceo of making shit up trust me bro

🎭 a blog i miss writing with
... well. haha. i don't really want to name names in this situation because i think the foremost person i really miss writing with in the sense that we don't talk at all anymore about muses ever is someone you can probably guess. in retrospect there were a lot of problems with that interaction but i can't claim not to miss it.
on a less personal note ... um, i can't remember the url but quite a long time ago now there was someone in the bungou stray dogs rpc who had an oc for jane austen. actually i don't think we talked at all outside of that but i had some really awesome interactions with them that i actually still think about to this day, so that will be my non-personal answer i can actually elaborate about publicly without feeling guilty. they stopped writing on that blog over time and i don't remember if they moved elsewhere.
🎾 what type of genre of roleplay i prefer to write
hehe. it might not surprise you but i like things that are plot-heavy. while i don't like combative, action-related threads because i'm bad at combat, i like things that involve some manner of extended storyline. i think maybe just general interpersonal conflicts are probably my favorite things but i don't mind involving external threats either. i don't know. that's not really a genre, is it...
well okay. i don't just want normal slice of life but i still want it to be relationship focused while also having a wider plot. generally. urgh. it's a vague response but this question is really hard for me to answer.
🛍 the one thing i wish all of my followers knew about me
that i really do want to write with them and my reasons for not doing so!
i really do struggle to reach out to people when it comes to things like this and. well. YOU know why perfectly well, but i think a lot of people don't have context for my situation and i sometimes would just like to explain it so it seems less silly. the tl;dr of it is that when i was first really getting into dedicated para rp as a younger teenager, i was stuck with two roleplayers who really just didn't like me and refused to let me write any characters other than the background characters to their relationships.
a LOT of my roleplaying habits stem from that---for instance, i almost completely favor background or secondary characters on my blog for this reason, and i have a hard time with duplicates because i worry that i'm never really going to have an "important" portrayal of a character in comparison to literally anyone else ...
it's why i'm struggling to interact with a lot of my hellaverse muses right now because that sort of thing has left me with a really big fear of, um. showing up to communities and just writing a popular muse. i'm mostly afraid i'll get completely ignored, hahahah.
rpc experience. / accepting.

so i know i have this blog listed as canon-divergent, but i don't think i ever stated why. mostly because i think the majority of you all have it figured out, but over the course of writing revan on here i've had a few encounters where someone didn't really get what was going on with my blog in terms of canon. so, to prevent further confusion;
revan started out as a blank-slate customizable player character in the 2003 knights of the old republic rpg [which is just dnd with a star wars skin, complete with modifiers and skill checks], much like commander shepard in mass effect, where you can pretty much make them into whoever you want. the knights of the old republic comic run continued with this concept by giving revan only three appearances in the whole series and making their face/identity a complete mystery. then in 2011, a revan novel was released that 'canonized' revan's appearance, gender, personality, choices, etc. [douglas adams voice] this has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. this new 'canon' revan [a forty-year-old white guy that for some reason a bunch of people want to have keanu reeves cast as] then went on to appear in the star wars: the old republic mmo, further cementing this new 'canon' revan in the expanded universe. 'canon' revan is where the grey jedi/using the dark side and the light side at the same time comes into play, and it contributes greatly to his popularity in some circles of the star wars fandom. he also married bastila shan and had a kid [named... vaner... anagram of revan...] and his eventual descendants in swtor are satele and theron shan, two npcs that have major roles in the game. i write revan like they're still a customizable rpg protagonist. partially because i am old and i played the games back in the early 00's and my revan originates from that, partially because i think the revan novel [and revan in swtor by extension] is kinda shit. this is why i disregard almost all canon about revan that came out after kotor 2. if we get other revans in the rpc, you'll likely see similar decisions made and some considerable variation in depictions, especially along the axis of how much of the novel/swtor canon they want to include in their portrayals.
so what does this mean? i'm less canon-divergent and more non-canon, if you want to be technical about it. disregard 70% of wookiepedia's revan article. in general conversation, i refer to 'canon' revan as swtor revan.
