i still don't really get what a kernel is and at this point i'm afraid to ask
#basically i should know more math.#they've come up in quantum (aka the propagator) and stats and while i tried to understand i have not succeeded#you can expand a kernel into its basis functions.. or go from the basis functions to a kernel..#and it's a covariance function..#or a green's function which is kinda the same/similar?#i just. dont really know where it came from. it was presented to us very much like we should already know what it is

So I know you’ve given the old black dragon from Dungeons and Dragons a redesign in the pats but I thought I would ask for your thoughts in the redesign coming soon in the new handbooks. There is a video on YouTube where one of the designers is interviewed about the new dragon designs. He says they designed the dragons more as characters then creatures which likely influenced a lot of the design choices. They want this thing to look evil. Do you think the design has improved? I also want to know if there any major changes you would make. I know in the past you had issues with the horns.
comparison time! old and new!
(image description: a side by side look at the old DnD 5e black dragon design and the new black dragon design. the old one is more multi colored and shows a variety of design choices that are common for making dragons look "cooler" but have no real function. the new design is more cohesively colored a very matte black with a white face and is anatomically more similar to a giant crocodile with long legs. end description)
I absolutely think the new design is so much better. the horn problem has been solved!!! my issue with the horns in the previous design was mostly that they just overlap the mouth! even taking into consideration how wide they might be, they line up directly with the open mouth and extend further forward than the mouth, making them a pretty huge impediment! but now the horns curve below the jaw and don't extend beyond it, so they're a lot less cumbersome! overall, this design and posing also makes so much better use of illustrative shape language, look at how little the body parts overlap each other! much cleaner. I appreciate the bony looking spines with minimal membrane between them, as opposed to the old version that just had the big sail fin on the neck for no reason. I kinda miss the striped coloration of the old one, but this new design is far more cohesively colored and so much more focused on really making it look like a black dragon, with nice subtle greens on the underside for that good ol fashioned countershading. I also like that the face is white to give it that skull-like vibe instead of shrinkwrapping the face to make it look like the underlying skull. overall, there is way less shrinkwrapping on the new design, it no longer feels like the skin has been vacuum sealed to the skeleton and musculature.
That said though, even considering the intention of making it look evil more than making it look like a real creature, why in the year 2024 are we still skimping on dragon wing membrane near the torso, making the wing fingers extend so far beyond the membrane, and adding random wing holes instead of making use of more interesting battle scars all over the body?
here is a very quick paint over to alter that and show how the design could just be tweaked a tiny bit and not lose any of its coolness while adjusting the things i have a pet peeve for
(image description: same as above, but now on the new black dragon design I have colored in the random holes in the wings, erased the overly extended wing fingers, and added more surface area to the wing membrane where it meets the body. end description)
could absolutely be done better, this was just my quick sloppy solution. even just adding a little more wing membrane would be good enough, I don't know why there is still this insistence on leaving such a massive gap between the body and the nearest wing finger. or leaving so much finger extended past the membrane. what are those fingers there for. why do they still have big claws. these dragons have proper forelegs, they clearly aren't using those big cumbersome wing hands for anything other than flying, and the thumb is perfectly useful as a gripping tool all by itself. the fingers only get extended like that for the Look, but i think there are other ways to make the wings look cool. like giving them interesting colors and patterns on the membrane! why not extend the facial coloring here to the wings? enhance the skeletal vibe by making the underside of the wing arms all pale, maybe put some striping on the membrane? that would be neat!

Nerdanel's side of the family - hcs:
Her mother is Súrë Mírdanel, born in Cuivenen before Oromë came. Súrë ("wind") was a common name for both boys and girls in those first generations, so the epessë (because it is an epessë; she grew up before the naming traditions were codified and was only given one name to start with) serves a similar function to early surnames.
I.e. she is a "jewel-maker" (or jewelry-maker, to start with) and a very skilled one. She stands out a little from most the Noldor in that that she prefers "cold-work", as they call it, wire-working and beading, to the techniques that involve a forge, but she's good at both.
Nerdanel is the youngest of four siblings, in order: Urucalmo Ruendil (M), Súriel Hérunis (F), Russon Aldandur (M) and Nerdanel Istarnië. The others are all grown, or mostly grown by the time she's born.
Urucalmo (usually called Calmo or Ruendil) is mostly serious, but he has a light-hearted streak and Nerdanel puts up with a lot of light teasing from both him and Russon, who is far too inclined to jest for his own good (he has a poetic nature too though, and when that shines through people get surprised that he can feel things deeply)
Súriel Hérunis has a calm, powerful deportment and usually ends up leading the proceedings in whatever company she finds herself without quite meaning to, which characteristic is referenced by her mother-name (Héru = "lady")
Urucalmo married a woman of the Aulenduri before Nerdanel was born. They only have one daughter, Carnemírë Istimiel, who is elf!15 by the time Maedhros is born.
Súriel has three children, in order: Elendur Vórimon (M), Hériel Veryanis (F), Nierwen Mirimë (F).
I have no idea whether Elendur is older or younger than Maedhros (definitely not the same age though), but the girls definitely are younger.
None of Mahtan's children participate in the Flight, although Russon would have if he hadn't been against following Fëanor on principle (the family had some choice words they wanted to say to Nerdanel's wayward husband)
Carnemírë also chooses to stay, but Súriel's children are persuaded by Fëanor's words and start preparing to leave.
Elendur has been strongly disquieted by the Oath however, and after an agonising debate with himself changes his mind in the middle of things and decides that he cannot take part in a venture begun with such words, not even for his sisters.
He definitely manages to find Maedhros and ask him to take care of his younger siblings for him before he returns home though.
Maedhros doesn't promise (he is already bound), but says he will.
Both the girls take part in the Kinslaying and Hériel is slain. Súriel feels it, but they don't have experience in recognising it yet, and as her body is never found (it fell into the sea and never came up), it takes some time before the family left in Aman really gains certitude of her death. Mirimë arrives in Middle-Earth safely, or as safe as she can be.
In Beleriand she proves herself quite restless, staying in Himring for a few years while it's being built, then spending two centuries in Ossiriand, whose green calm she enjoys, and then moving to Himlad because she wanted to see what it was like.
(Maedhros doesn't quite enjoy it and wishes she stayed within his sight so he could keep at least one of the two safe, but she doesn't listen to him.)
When the Bragollach strikes, she is temporarily visiting in Ossiriand, and during the Nirnaeth forms part of the tiny home guard. She is at the forefront of neither.
She is a big opponent of the second Kinslaying (Hériel wouldn't be), but takes part in it reluctantly. Then she has the crazy idea to leave Beleriand and makes off on her own.
She actually survives? and appears for the tail end of the War of Wrath, hangs around for part of the second age (with periodical ventures to parts unknown) and goes on to live in Rivendell for a while, before sailing in the early days of the third.
She kinda grows pretty cynical over the years.
Also please forget that it was part of my url for a long time, but I think she takes on the epessë Ettelen ("foreign") during her travelling days. (*shrug* it's lovely-sounding and I've been waiting a long time to use it; no she's not a self insert - I dearly hope)

I never thought much about it but ever since Kalim's Sultan card dropped, I've been bombarded with these concepts and all. But the gist of it is that we don't talk about how impressive and important the Light Trio (Kalim, Rook and Silver) serve as "palette cleansers" of their dorms own aesthetic and it's all in their color association
in this TED talk lol I'll focus mainly on Kalim tho, so spoilers for his card!
I'll warn that it's been months since I wrote something other than a story and I tend to tangle myself in my own words. So I hope it's comprehensible enough... if you want to add a new detail, feel free to do so in the replies!
I MEAN look at my boy here. Scarabia's main colors are literally red (or deep wine red, if you will) and black and normally Kalim already challenges this color palette with his normal student wear but here he's full out
*boom* blue and white!! the only thing connecting both universes is the gold which is really important bc of the ambience in the desert, palaces and the magic of wishes
the original animators were so right to go with these colors for the characters, especially the good ones in contrast with the villain, bc it's an easy indicator if you think about it. And when everybody gets together, you see the harmony between the forces
blue & white against red & black... or anything in the similar tones
that's why Jamil was also exceptionally well drawn bc he's 100% the aesthetic embodiment of Jafar, one of the best ones in the overblot boys! and in the other hand, that's why Kalim functions so well with his main sultan colors bc it all goes back to Scarabia having this whole thing going up with parallels
[the insanity that analysing Scarabia cards back to back brings to me... is unwritten. unravelled. unspoken of.]
talking about all of that bc it all goes back in the way the Light Trio (here, only Kalim) kinda "breaks" their dorm format with their different color eschemes
I haven't analyzed much of Rook's but Kalim and Silver have a lot more to speak bc they are based of actually "good characters" (Sultan and Aurora/Philip), so just imagine this: red, black, red, black, red, black... oh hi, blue and white!
same with Silver and his literal silver hair clashing with Malleus and Lilia (black hair) and Sebek (green hair, the color dorm)
Jamil and Kalim are mutually different even in the smallest of details and it serves a lot for the dorm concept and their character dynamics as well. Although I think using the word "palette cleanser" wasn't the rightest choice on my part, the feeling I want to portray is how these characters "breaking" the aesthetic for a solid minute brings a sense of dept to the world building
it makes you wonder how the Magic Mirror accepted them in the first place but also, the story wouldn't be the same without them
#twisted wonderland#kalim al asim#jamil viper#rook hunt#silver#twst silver#twst light trio#ngl i saw jamil's clothes as jafar#sultan kalim and vizir jamil wasn't in my bingo#but i'm so happy#they look so good#cherry's mumbling about twst

hello, I have a bit of an odd question. For each species culture in Star Trek do you think would fit in Star wars? I think the andorians and Klingons fit with the mandalorians. What do you think?
Have a nice day.
Hello! This is a fun question!
I'm gonna narrow the scope a little, because if I did every Star Trek species we'd be here forever, but I'll try to hit all the main ones.
Andorians: I could see Andorians fitting neatly into the realm of Pantoran or Chiss characters pretty easily, and what little we know about the Chiss feels a lot like it could parallel Andorians in their earlier, more isolationist histories. I particularly feel like the rigid social structures of the Chiss and their military philosophies would fit quite nicely with Andorian values. Likewise, Pantorans share some similarities with Andorians, like exceptional hearing and coloration. Additionally, the tradition of garnering tattoos to indicate family and allegiance amongst Pantorans does feel similar to Andorian chitin patterns.
Humans: Humans across all universes are pretty much the same, let's be honest. If you take an average Star Trek Human civilian and plonk them down on an average Core World in the 'Wars universe, they'll do just fine.
Vulcans: Of all the species, I feel like Vulcans prove to be excellent candidates for Jedi recruitment, but that's not actually a species, so: Kel Dor. Hear me out: they have sages, they're largely mysterious, they are on the whole very force sensitive (psychically powerful) and they keep much of their culture and traditions to themselves. It's a stretch, admittedly, but I think it kind of works.
Trill: Phydolons feel like a good match. They're a symbiotic species which form a kind of gestalt consciousness between a mammalian host and a fungal symbiote, who value wisdom and spirituality.
Klingons: The Noghri might not feel like the most immediate option to come to mind, but bear with me. Noghri are skilled warriors who utilise technology and an array of natural weapons and defenses, place high value on honour, and function societies built upon familial clans. It's not as much of a stretch as you might think, looking at that. Just as the Klingons are honed for war, the Noghri are uniquely suited for combat - though the Noghri are most well known for being assassins, rather than front-line warriors.
Orions: The Falleen, hands down. Green skin, dark hair, known to use powerful pheromones to influence others, regularly associated with major crime syndicates... it's hard not to see the parallels. It's tempting to say Twi'leks here, but honestly I feel the Falleen are a much better match.
Ferengi: Muun in general, and the Banking Clan in particular. Muun are extremely intelligent and naturally gifted at mathematics, and while the Banking Clan gives them something of a negative reputation, most Muun are pretty decent folks. Sounds familiar? Wildly different physiologies aside, I think the Ferengi and the Muun have a surprising amount in common.
Tellarites: It would be incredibly lazy to say Gamorreans here, so I won't. Truthfully, with the minimal lore on Tellarites that we have to work with, finding an equivalent for them in the Star Wars universe is a bit tricky. I'd be inclined to say the Gran, perhaps, for their colonial tendencies and agricultural leanings, but even that feels very weak to me.
Mandalorians: Mandalorians are not a species but diverse individuals who follow a shared creed, and therefore I don't feel it sensible to include it with any of the above options which are based on species. Additionally, there are at least four kinds of Mandalorians, which further complicates the issue: Death Watch, the Children of the Watch, the True Mandalorians, and the New Mandalorians. Your choices narrow down to child-abducting-hyper-militant-terrorist group, weirdly-genetically-homogenous/militant-pacifist group, militant-but-mostly-reasonable-and-kinda-culty group, and a virtually non-existent faction of militant golden-age-Mandos-cut-down-before-their-time. With all of these, your mileage may vary wildly. I could see Vulcans being attracted to the New Mandalorian philosophies, I suppose, and Andorians would probably be all over the True Mandalorian option, but it's hard to say more beyond that outside of individual circumstance.
Thanks for the ask!

↬ OC Verse Trading Cards
Here it is! The reason (well, one of the reasons) for why I've been so inactive lately. I saw this super cool trading card template by @squea and @buttertrait and thought it was super fun, so I wanted to make something similar for my mutuals and myself. And, as you can see, I rediscovered my love for art deco on the way, so it's very art deco lol
You can find the template to make your own cards here - and I explicitly encourage you to make your own, because I was kinda hoping I would get to see cards of you guys' OCs and we could collect them all in a binder like this one. It would be really fun! (The number next to the name is the power level btw - I wanted to imitate a set of Star Wars trading cards I used to collect as a kid) Make sure to @ me when you do and tag your post with #ocversetradingcards!
I tried to make the template as accessible as possible so that even beginners should be able to use it without any issues. So, I color-coded the layers!
The red layers are ones you shouldn't touch. They make up the main frame of the card. The orange layers are ones where you can play around with the colors, but that's for advanced photoshop/photopea users. The green ones are the ones where you put in text! Edit those freely. Blue ones are ones you have to select and move as a batch - if you don't know how to do that, check below the cut ^^
You'll need to download these fonts:
Park Lane (name & power level)
Market Deco (main text font)
Artisual Deco Black Italic (blog url)
Below the cut, you'll find a tutorial for the template and a list of the image resources I used - Quick info for everyone, including the more experienced Photopea users: Save your image at 50% quality. The template is a big file and the exported image will also be pretty big if you don’t save it at a lower quality. 50% is what you can see above and I think it's a nice size-quality ratio.
Tutorial Time
Opening the File
Step one: Get either Photoshop or Photopea. Photoshop costs money, Photopea is free and runs in your browser. Take three guesses which one I use. Yeah, it's Photopea. As such, this tutorial will be Photopea-centric, and I also have no clue what the Photoshop interface looks like, so I can't really help you if you work on Photoshop. But I'm told they're essentially the same, so...
Step two: Download the fonts listed above from the links in this post.
Step three: Click on the link above to go download the template. It's a bit of a big file, so I put it into a zip file for you. Don't worry, you don't need a special program to open it. Photopea will do that for you.
Step four: Open Photopea. Click on "File" -> "Open..." and select the "TradingCardTemplate" zip file.
Step five: Click "File" -> "Open..." again and select the zip files for the fonts. This will import them to Photopea. There are also preview images included in at least one of the zip files for the fonts, so just close the windows for those projects when they pop up by clicking on the little "x" next to their file name. You only need the "TradingCardTemplate.psd" tab to be open in your Photopea window.
Great! Now you're all set to edit!
Editing the name, power level and blog url
I decided to group these together because they function essentially the same way
Step one: Select the typing tool. It's the little "T" symbol in the toolbar on the left side of your screen.
Step two: Select the layer of the text you want to edit. The blog url one is in plain view. For the name and power ones, you need to open the corresponding folders first. They're the green layers in the folders!
Step three: Click on the text you want to edit. It's easiest to aim for the middle, that way you have the least chances of missing. The typing tool is a bit finicky with that sometimes, especially if the text is small.
Great! Now you can use your keyboard to delete the placeholder text and replace it with your own! The power level will only fit two digits and picking "00" will look bad. Your OC should have at least some power. They need it to breathe.
Changing the size of the name text
As you might be able to tell, the basic text size only works for fairly short names. So, you might have to make it smaller for your OC's name to fit
Step one: Enter your OC's name as described above.
Step two: Select the text as you would anywhere else in your browser.
Step three: Above the little tag where it says "TradingCardTemplate.psd", there's an options bar. You'll find a box there labelled "Size" with a box that says "150px" and a down arrow next to it. Click on the down arrow and a slider will pop up. Play around with that slider until your text has a good size. Then click on the checkmark.
Step four: Switch to the transformation tool. It's the cursor with the directional cross next to it, at the top of your left-hand tool bar. Move your text so that it aligns well with the left side of the frame but make sure it's below the middle.
Step five: You now have to select two layers at once. The text layer and the frame for the name tag. Do do that, either press and hold your control key on your keyboard while selecting the other layer or toggle the control key using the on-screen keyboard at the bottom left of the toolbar. If you use the toggle, don't forget to untoggle it after.
Step six: On your horizontal toolbar above your project window, click on the icon that's a horizontal line with two boxes centered on it.
Congrats, your text should now be centered!
Adding in your OC picture
Step one: Open the "Picture" folder and select the layer beneath "Add picture here". This will make sure your picture will be in the right spot. Also make sure to click on the eye next to the "Pattern" layer tag to make it go invisible.
Step two: Select "File" -> "Open & Place..." and pick a nice image.
Step three: Once the image has been imported, make sure you change the zoom percentage to 100%, that way the image doesn't look pixely or weird. Click on the checkmark.
Step four: Resize your image so your OC fits nicely into the frame. The image should fill the entire space inside the frame and can stick out as much as you want.
Step five: Right-click (or press and hold, if you're on mobile) your image' layer and select "Clipping Mask".
Perfect! Now your image should no longer stick out of the frame. Feel free to adjust your image's coloration, brightness etc. by selecting "Image" -> "Adjustments" and your preferred action.
Changing your stats bars
This works the same for each bar and I tried to make it as simple as possible.
Step one: Open the corresponding folder.
Step two: Select the set of three blue layers together. You can do this by selecting one layer normally, then selecting the other two while holding your control key or while having it toggled using the built-in on-screen mini keyboard at the bottom left of your screen. If you use the toggle, don't forget to untoggle it after.
Step three: Switch to the transformation tool (the one at the top of your left-hand toolbar, it's a cursor with a directional cross) and move your layers. By moving them to the right, you'll reveal more of the gold underneath the overlay. More gold = higher level of the corresponding stat.
Great job! Now adjust the bars to your liking.
Saving your project + card image
To save the project: Click on "File" -> "Save as PSD". This will download the current project under the same name as the file that you downloaded it as. So, it will be called "TradingCardTemplate (1)" or something similar. Make sure you change the name in your files so you know which is which. Alternatively, you can also change the name of the project by double-clicking the little square that currently says "TradingCardTemplate" and type in your new name. If you save again now, it will show the new project name! Make sure to save your project if you want to be able to recover it and/or work on it later!
To save the card image: Click on "File" -> "Export as >" and pick your preferred image file type. I suggest JPG for best results. Make sure to turn the quality slider to 50%, then hit the save button. This will download an image file of your chosen type, under the same name as the project name. To change that name, refer to the bullet point above or go to your files :)
Advanced: Changing the BG color of the pattern
Step one: Select the pattern background of either the name tag, power score or picture and turn it to 100% opacity.
Step two: Color-pick the current background color of the pattern.
Step three: Click "Image" -> "Adjustments" -> "Replace Color..." and click on the colored rectangle in the new pop-up. Replace the default color with your color-picked color. Now use the Hue, Saturation and Lightness sliders to get a new color that you like. Note down your slider values for later so you have them for the other elements.
Step four: Color-pick your new color and select the corresponding solid background layer. For those layers, click "Edit" -> "Fill..." and make sure you have "Foreground" and "Normal" selected, your Opacity is 100% and you have "Preserve Transparency" checked.
Step five: Don't forget to turn the opacity of your pattern layers back down to 60%.
Congrats! You have your colors changed! Repeat this process for the other two patterned elements.
Extra advanced: Changing the card's background color
NOTE: I DON'T recommend this. You can do it, but it's a lot of work.
Step one: Select the background layer and change its color to the new color you want. You can do it with the "Hue/Saturation..." adjustment, with the "Fill" edit as described above, or whichever way you want. Color-pick your new color.
Step two: Open the smart object PSDs for the frames for the frames for the picture, the name tag, and the power counter by double-clicking on the preview image of the layer.
Step three: Select the lowest colored layer of each and change its color to the same as your new card background color. Click on "File" -> "Save (Smart Object)". Close the project windows.
Step four: Open the folders for the various stat bars and select the "Color Overlay" layers. Change their colors the same way you did for the other layers. Warm colors and high-saturation colors will most likely not look good here and you might need to find a different way of making the stat bars look good. Playing around with the "Brightness/Contrast" adjustment layers above might help, but I can't promise anything. This is the main reason why I don't recommend changing the card background color. The stats bars are adjusted to the background color.
There we are! Either your card looks very pretty now or you understand why I don't recommend this. Either way: Good job!

hi i unfortunately lost my question list in all the tissue and random paper from doodling in online lessons-
NOOOOOO
devastated rn
wait i didnt know tumblr dark mode existed
wot it took moving an entire country away for dis??? /j /silly /not-srs
Okayyyyyyyyy... This is for Super Sticks by the way!
Would Purple be able to fly from tech or powers? If tech, would it be from King or RGBY?
but also i thought all of RGBY were going to be able to fly????
Would RGBY have similar fighting styles like in AVM?
Like- would Green use the fishing rod and tend to move around in battle a lot? Would Red use his animals?? WAIT THE BEE CREEPER- ...seconds eel???? sorry im still holding onto that idea i will sell my soul for it- Would Blue continue chugging drugs? ...does Yellow get a staff?
Hold up does King even make his staff?
I'm going to say that's enough questions for today :D
Forgot to mention, I'm back i guess. So uh- Hello! havent been here for a while ;-;
Have a great week in case I dont ask another question in that time!
-R
NOOOO THE LOST NOTESSS :O U n U I despise it so much when that happens siergwgjwjeoqele
..EHEHEHHEHEHHHEHEHEH "Dark" mode-
-
You have an incredible tendency to ask just the right questions at the right time, right at the moment I happen to be thinking and brainrotting about it- XD
Alright- So-
Since I did kinda already share --in that other post-- a light basis of what the CG in Super Sticks would be able to do, you know... I might as well elaborate a bit, yeah? XD
Top secret paper, there you go, have fun reading through the blur.
okay okay
I'm not thaaatt mean- XD
I know what is written there and I'm still having difficulty- XD
[I can catch "All have wings", and everyone's names..]
Anyway- Uhmmm
Blue gets illusionary tech [hologram projection stuff, teehee] and leaping armor to jump significantly higher and farther than normal. [+wings]
Red gets flash teleporting; armor that temporarily can alter his very code to move it short distances away, and multiple burst teleports can be done in short succession of each other. Plus extra strength in the form of power punching armor-ey gloves. [+wings] (He does get ahold of dizzy suppressants later to aid with the occasional nausea side effects).
Yellow gets hard light properties: Can create hover platforms, a sword, shielding, and hard light ammo that he can fling fast and far distances. It requires a very powerful source of energy to function, which ends up being a gem in a garage sale that will be found and utilized at one point in the near future. It looked like a lamp decoration jewel and was sold cheaply. Yellow also gets cool googles with many different functions. [+wings]
Green gets durable, very long, coils of string stored in dual arm guns. There are capped sticky ends so when he shoots the string out, the rounded end will catch ahold of a surface and like a grappling hook he can climb and latch onto things. He also gets coded blades on the same arm guns. He cannot use the shooting string and the blade at the same time, they are only interchangeable since both are stored and swappable in the same gun. He may use one gun for shooting string and the other to hold a blade, however. [+wings]
The entire point was to give each quadruplet a main weapon, obviously a set of wings, and then a backup mode of transportation as a fail-safe in case there is wing malfunctions or failures.
These powers may be altered slightly as I get closer to the point of the plot where it is officially stated and explained..? Perhaps? But this is what I have come up with for now. :D
I also want to play on the Team Effort part of the Color Gang's journey in putting together their upgrade costumes.
Blue in his mini-bedroom laboratory, crafting dizzy suppressants for Red. Someone besides Yellow locating that garage sale gem that powers the hard light tech.
Everyone gets a major opportunity to assist in the full-scale construction of their hero-ing equipment.
It's not all just "Yellow builds everything and his siblings kinda assist him", no. They really work together to bring Second's birthday gift to its completion.
I can't share everything that happens, but this is where you can expect the story to go. :D
Now Purple-y Wurple-y over here, is gonna be a surprise. >:3
You needa wait and see until I get there in the plotline, before you know all of what he can do. U v U
I will say that it is King's tech, though. :D [Purple, much like the CG, does not retain any legit genetic superpowers and instead has upgrades to rely on]
Honestly, it is really funny you mentioned Green and his fishing rod when I have string shooters for his upgrades- XD
Red would NOT use his multitudes of cute, little, fragile animals, for fear of them getting hurt- :O
No Beeper. [The collective fandom name for Bee-Creeper]
There is no eel YET, but there may be, I have not decided.
XD With how excited and attached you are to the eel, I just might I just might- Honestly it'd be so cute for Second to end up with an eel pet~
Blue will indeed enjoy his bitter fungus several times over in the future, if naught but for the comedics~ It's not drug-like or alcoholic in my AU, though. Just tastes bad to most sticks.
There will be no staffs. Not for Yellow, nor for King.
:D You also have a great day!
You've already made mine epic with your ask! :3

Heartslabyul, but they're in teyvat
I've been having a lot of genshin x twst brainrot lately so here we go, I'll try to draw them later but rn I don't have my tablet with me so please bear with the messy text block
((note that if we're speaking twst lore then technically ALL of them would be catalyst user (save for rook, silver, sebek and maybe vil since he did fencing but we're not gonna talk about them here) but we're going to ignore all of that and go with aesthetic/vibes))
starting from ace, I feel like he'd either use bow or polearm because as seen in the og alice in wonderland movie, all of the trump soldiers use some sort of lance(?), but I'm going with bow because I feel like it matches his vibes the most. rust would fit his overall visual especially with his dorm uniform (bc I am not about to teyvat-ivy their outfits I Am Not The Art Archon).
if we’re talking about kits/skill set, I picture him having an anemo vision (dead friend aside and purely by aesthetic bc we dont know much abt his past/um/I will not kill deuce) and being an off-field dmg dealer sort of like yelan and his skill being an enemy aggro that also do a mini swirl like mona’s/faruzan’s. so a sub dps maybe.
then we go to deuce, I want to say he’s a catalyst like heizou that punches his enemies like he got a personal grudge but listen to me : deuce with a claymore. deuce just. swinging that shit around and beating the mobs to death. I mean I can picture him being a catalyst that do normal, sort of calm attack until you make him do his charged attack and it’s a rage-filled uppercut sort of but. claymore deuce. deuce wielding song of broken pines.
now about the kit, I can’t see him with any other vision than hydro and I’m torn between him being an elemental dmg dealer with parry gimmick like beidou or just a full blown physical dps. while hydro isn’t a good element to do physical reaction, at the same time I also see him being able to deal some sort of decent physical dmg so I’m really conflicted about what his kit is going to be like. but I DO see that he’s going to be the type thats going to scale off of hp like zhongli or nilou.
next is trey, I see him as somewhere between sword or polearm, but then I decided on polearm because imagine trey with those baker hand swinging a polearm around. also he reminds me of thoma for some reason (househusband material, serving powerful/important figure??). Also he’d look good wielding skyward spine, no?
I cant decide on his vision but I can see him being dendro, mainly bc he’s green and also that the whole reaction with dendro kinda(?) fits his unique magic ig. Which means he’d probably be both a healer and em support/buffer. I think he’d have kits similar to shenhe and bennett where he increases dmg with his skill while he heals and buffs em/atk with his burst and doing small continuous dmg.
cater is kind of hard for me to picture in this setting. like ace I do think that bow fits his vibe, but so does polearm and sword. I literally cannot decide. I wanted him to be like childe where he wields one weapon and change stance during skill, but I already have different idea for his skill that would match his um better so. I ended up going with polearm after seeing mika with that crossbow
just like his weapon, I cannot decide on a vision for him. it’s either cryo or electro, based on his personality alone. he reminds me of fischl in a weird way. kit wise I think he’s going to summon his clone for his skill that function more as totems like yae’s that also do aggro (it is a bit funny imagining like 3 caters ganging up on a mob in game tho lmao). I think it wont do that much damage but it’ll be a consistent element applicator. as for his burst I really have no idea except maybe it’ll be like gorou where he’ll summon just 1 copy/totem that follows the character and also buffing/dealing damage alongside them(?)
now riddle, we can already tell that this boy is a full blown catalyst dps. I’m sure he can wield a sword/polearm just fine but catalyst just seems to fit his vibe the most. blackliff agate would look sick on him even if it’s not a 5 star weapon.
and yeah he’s definitely pyro. his kit would also be like yanfei and klee mainly bc I cannot think of a way to integrate his unique magic completely (zhongli’s burst is literally stunning the mob and his um is more close to taking the vision away from his enemy teyvat-wise). so he’d be a normal+charged atk focused dps. like yanfei he’d have this point(?) thingy(???) on his back everytime he do normal attack and if he do charge attack with them (max 4) he’d do big damage. I think his skill would have that pyro/elemental res effect while dealing damage and I think it would be cool if his burst is a one-shot pyro hit that deals lots of dmg like hu-tao’s while also giving him the maximum amount of point for charge attack.
That is all for now, I think. might also do a hsr au with heartslabyul (please don't ask me why I keep throwing them into aus. I. Am not. A Heartslabyul fan I swear ((that's a lie)))

Is your favorite season autumn? You seem like someone who would like autumn. The opportunity to spend all day outside without the peak of summer heat would be too much for you.
🤔 Its very difficult to say my favorite season! For day to day function, yes, I love Autumn. The coastal fog rolling in is lovely, and I love the mist.
Let's start this off with 1, I resent the assessment that "California has no seasons". If that's your legit take, then you're unobservant as hell.
Spring usually means flowers, and green! California has vibrant, seasonal greens, and a drive through the coast ranges during a wet Spring after a wet winter will be as verdant as stereotypically "green hilled" places like Scotland or whatever. And the splashes of color! The yellow and orange and purple that slashes through the green and makes a wonderful painter's tapestry! Not to mention, up in the Sierras, as the snowmelt picks up, waterfalls, creeks, and meadows (which in the mountains are basically a kind of wetland) start to roar with life.
Summer is when things start to get intensely dry- but crucially, this is the best season for going in the ocean. People forget that California oceans are cold, much colder than similar latitudes on the East coast. Our coastal current goes strongly North-South, coming from Alaska, and the water offshore is deep. In contrast, water in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Florida is coming from the Caribbean, and the continental plate stretches into the ocean, so there's not nearly as steep of a drop off. So its ideal for plunging in the water and cooling off in the brutally hot summer temperatures. Also, lots of coastal areas, especially the North coast and places like Big Sur, get too cold and foggy during other seasons, so they're always nice to visit!
Autumn is probably my favorite season for day to day function, but tbh, I don't think it offers much over spring here. Spring has a lot of that same benefit, but with vibrancy that hasn't come yet in Autumn. California, of course, doesn't have the fall colors that are associated with other places. For me, I have the added axis of pretty much always having been on some kind of academic schedule. Even now in grad school, I've always TAed in the Fall, so it kinda represents getting back to teaching for me, which is always a busy time.
Winter might be my favorite, but its such a unique vibe. I would say that on the coast, "Spring" starts in winter as the rains pick up. But the main thing about winter is that it unlocks new vibes- dustings of snow on the coast ranges if you're lucky, heavy snow in the Sierras, and of course, unlocking the desert!! Getting out to the Mojave and doing some real hiking is a special treat that comes with California winters.
But yeah. Hard to say.

ok ill bite. whats this about turning block people into rock people (the gem au btw)
HOO BOY, I'VE HAD THIS AU IN MY MIND FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW:
so! general gist of the au's premise: the dsmp characters and (part of) the plot get put into a Steven Universe kind of world, where there are Gems (rock aliens that have no gender. i'm pretty sure that's canon) and humans. the characters, depending on what i think would be cool, are split between these two species. it doesn't follow the plot of SU exactly (there is no Gem-Human hybrid as the main character, most of the Diamonds are actually better than they were canonically. kinda, anyway, and what exactly caused the "Gem War" is different), but there are a few similarities.
so! PLOT TIME (i'll be using the Gem names, 'cause why not)
(i apologize how long this took, there is just. So Much)
there are four Diamonds: Green, Black, Pink, and Amber Diamond, in order of age (these are c!Dream, Bad, Eret, and Wilbur, respectively). each of them get their own colonies, and eventually, Amber gets his own (Earth and the Moon).
Pink and Amber are besties :]
unlike in the actual show, when Amber asks the others to leave Earth alone, as to not destroy the planet, that request is respected.
the problem? Amber is unable to "grow" his own Gems, meaning that he requires help from the other Diamonds
the other Diamonds give him a few extra Gems here and there, including "undesirable" Gems: "defective" Gems (have multiple things wrong with them by Homeworld's standards; generally aren't viewed as functioning well/properly), "off-color" Gems (not necessarily defective, but have some things off with them physically (wrong color, for example) and/or have wonky powers), and "rogue/rebel" Gems (have no desire to follow the purpose the Diamonds have chosen for their Gem Type; ex. a Quartz of any type doesn't want to be a soldier or guard. "rebel" is generally used when a Gem is "at risk" of being a "problem," and "rogue" is basically shorthand for "is currently a problem"). Amber would end up showing these Gems more kindness than the other Diamonds did (except for Pink, but due to Reasons (*cough* Green) she can't be as open about it as Amber does)
through this, Amber receives four Gems that he will come to consider family: a "rebel" Jade and an Obsidian from Black Diamond (Phil and Kristin), a "rogue" Rose Quartz from Pink (Techno), and a "rebel" Lapis Lazuli (Clementine).
how did they each get labeled this way? well...
Jade didn't just want to sit around and deal with High-Ranking Gem BS, he wanted to go explore!! maybe even build stuff (which is i recall from the show was a job for Bismuths)!! and the Obsidian? she just followed him when he was sent off.
Rose Quartz was...more violent than RQ's typically are (they're generally healing/guard Gems. but this is obviously Techno we're talking about here. plus Anarchy™), and while Pink is generally accepting like Amber is, he feels pressured by the other Diamonds (Green specifically), so they just gently send any "troublemakers" over to Amber.
and the Lapis Lazuli? well...they're generally pretty quiet, keep to themselves, and listen to orders pretty well. not this one: she pretty much came out of the ground loud, a bit rowdy, and just generally telling everyone to F**k Off. Amber had to go and get her from Green himself before that guy decided to shatter her or something. when they finally went down to Earth, her first words to Amber were something along the lines of "Did I do something wrong?" Amber assured her that she didn't do anything wrong.
and now we have SBI + Kristin :]
so yeah. if it wasn't obvious, Amber pretty much believes that Gems should just be allowed to do what they want, as long as they aren't hurting anyone.
the SBI learns from humans that names exist, and give each other names. they're the same ones that. y'know. the characters have (Amber is Wilbur, Lapis is Clem, etc.)
Amber and Green...didn't get along. So A War Starts!
things are fine...until Green gets one of his Quartzes (Punz) to assassinate/shatter Amber, only stating to leave no witnesses. which he does. but, oh, what's this? Clem Witnesses It But Is Hiding! So Quartz Doesn't See Her!
Green somehow covers the whole thing up. the other remaining Diamonds are suspicious, however (Pink more so than Black)
SBI, over the next few centuries, research to figure out how to bring Wilbur back. and they find one! but it basically requires the essence of the other Diamonds and a Rose Quartz's tears. they already have Techno, so now they need the Diamond's help. Clem offers to go do it
things go well when asking Pink and Black. it's with Green that problems start (because of course it is, right?)
so. she gets to Green. he eventually decides "f**k it, i'll help bring Amber back, everyone's too suspicious of me already." Clem gets the Diamond essence, and gets ready to leave.
and then she sees Quartz. and gets rightfully pissed off
Green, now realizing that there Was a witness to Wilbur's assassination, kind of...panics. and does the one thing that comes to mind for him to do.
he cracks her gem. Badly
now. here's the reason why that's bad: That's The Equivalent Of Attempting To Murder Someone And Putting Them Into A Coma.
given, y'know, that people Already suspect him of having some role to play in Wilbur's death, and that people would probably get Pissed if they figured out what he did, he decides to bubble her gem (something that Gems can do; they quite literally create a bubble around the object they're bubbling) and teleport that bubble to his "Bubble Room" (something else gems can have, apparently), and forces all the Gems that were in the Throne Room/Palace he has to keep quiet about what happened and claim that Clem just never arrived there.
some Gems who are technically witnesses, who Will be important later, are an Amethyst guard (Purpled; didn't tell anyone because he was a direct witness (heard the yelling and subsequent cracking of Clem's gemstone) and was honestly scared for his life should no one believe him) and a Brown Agate (Schlatt; didn't say anything because he genuinely didn't give a s**t).
Pink and Green despise each other after this :]
for the next 2,000 years, various different things happened:
two new Gems joined Green's Court: an "overcooked ('defective')" Bumblebee Jasper (Tubbo; is basically just much shorter than Jaspers are, a consequence of the Gem staying underground too long. he's also one of the spotty bumblebee jaspers :]) and a "defective" Snowflake Obsidian (Ranboo; is technically a perma-fusion from birth. two gems combined before Ranboo was "born," thus making Ranboo a fusion. they literally cannot unfuse, because he will die). these two hate their jobs. due to Ranboo's circumstances (which, keep in mind, is something out of his control), they are practically treated like a Pearl (literally a servant Gem. like, they are the lowest on the Gem Hierarchy due to something Ranboo Can't Control. like, his options are either to Literally Die or be treated like a servant).
Clem is stuck in a Limbo between life and death
the rest of the SBI and a bunch of corrupted Gems are still on Earth. the other members of SBI view what happened to Clem as a threat.
Brown Agate is sent on missions with an Azurite (Quackity; relatively High-Ranking Gem in Black Diamond's Court) and a Pyrite (Foolish; not technically a High-Ranking Gem, but Pink is really close to him, so they made him High-Ranking because F**k Green, She Does What She Wants <3). these three basically hate each other, but Azurite and Pyrite hate each other less.
so...in the show, the Diamonds created a Human Zoo. in the show, this was to preserve humans so that they wouldn't go extinct from the Earth getting destroyed. in this au, it's because Gems genuinely don't understand that humans are sentient too. so like, this wasn't entirely done out of malice. again, not entirely
so...now that we've got caught up on the past two millennia, now let's enter the 21st century! :D
now we finally get introduced to some humans :]
Puffy: a sailor/fisherwoman who lives in a seaside town with her adopted daughter Michelle. she has always dreamed of adventure, maybe even a sea adventure :]
Niki and Jack: live in a small town. Niki is a baker and Jack works at a motel in town :]
Ponk: lives in the same town as Puffy. they're a doctor :]
Fundy: a teen interested in coding and stuff. doesn't have..the best home life, but it doesn't deter him from his coding dreams. he lives in the same town as Niki and Jack :]
i'll continue this in another reblog, give me a bit. hit a character limit

Concepts for new Life Series mechanics
along with why I’d like to see each mechanic being used
(this is just my way of coping with this week’s session kjsdlfka)
under the cut bc it gets kinda long i think?
Common/Shared Life:
at the start of the season, all players are randomly placed together in teams of 3-5 people (depending on the amount of players that season). Each team shares a “pool of lives” so to say, meaning that when one member of the team dies, everyone experiences a loss as a result (they don’t have shared health bars though - the players don’t die, they just lose a life). For example, Grian, Martyn and Scott are teamed; they share a pool of 9 lives (bc that’s the amount of lives they theoretically would have put together. 3x3=9). If Grian dies, their pool of lives would be reduced to 8 lives. Martyn and Scott, who’ve been chilling in the nether in this hypothetical scenario, don’t die, which means they don’t have to run all the way back to the spot they died to get their stuff, and can instead go home the normal way.
This goes on until the pool only has the same amount of lives left as members of the team. Following that, the team functionally dissolves, each member being given one of the lives and placed on Red. Using the past example, if Grian, Martyn and Scott had four lives in their pool, and one of them died, the team would dissolve and they all become Reds. They’re not tied to each other by any game mechanic anymore only their emotional bonds if they have any lol
Why I want this mechanic used: mostly just to see more dynamics tbh. At this point in the Life Series, I feel like most of the dynamics/team-ups are starting to repeat (see Cleo and Scott, Cleo and Bdubs, Bdubs and Etho, Team BEST and Team TIES, Grian and Jimmy, Grian and Joel etc). THAT’S NOT A BAD THING IN ANY WAY! After all, this series is first and foremost about them having fun with their friends, so it makes sense they gravitate towards the people they. y’know. are close friends with. But still, one of my favorite things about Double Life is that it caused interactions and dynamics we probably wouldn’t have seen otherwise. I’d love to see all of the members interact more with one another, be it through team-ups or simply being dependent on each other bc of the game mechanics.
this mechanic, I think, would have a similar effect, but still allow the players more freedom in how they react to the team dynamic. In Double Life, the consequences of your soulmate dying were harsh, so even if you weren’t teamed with your soulmate, you’d still want to make sure they didn’t get both of you killed. But with this, while you probably still wouldn’t want your pool to lose lives, i think the consequences are less severe. you won’t have to go through the hassle of respawn, and in the end, no matter what, your last life belongs fully to you.
So, in conclusion, would bring forth dynamics we wouldn’t get otherwise, while still allowing enough freedom to do your own thing.
Targeted Life (name pending)
at the beginning of each session, a Hitman and a Target are randomly rolled (similar to Boogeyman. It’s also only Greens and Yellows). The Hitman has the task of killing their Target until the end of the session. If they succed, they recieve a life (kinda like the receiving time mechanic from Limited Life). If they fail, they automatically become next session’s Target.
The Target doesn’t know they’re the Target (unless, of course, they were last session’s failed Hitman). There will be, however, a third role each session; The Spy. The Spy will be informed of both the Hitman’s and the Target’s identity when they’re assinged their role. They can choose what to do with that information; tell the Target, sell it to the Target, blackmail the Hitman etc.
Why I want this mechanic used: it’s like the time-stealing mechanic of Limited Life, just with the chaos being more... contained, I guess? It’s also similar to the Boogeyman curse that you are *forced* to make the kill. However, it also introudes the concept of a pre-determined victim - great for heartbreaking betrayals between allies or for panicked planning bc your Target is much better than you at PvP
It also has mafia vibes, which I think most of the fandom would eat right up lol

So I had this one fucking dream that was basically a fanfiction premise. But, like, for some reason I remembered it.
So, Alvis and Mythra come to the conclusion that the only way to make the two worlds compatible with each other was to literally fuse into one entity and try to reach a sync rate of 100% (their current sync rate is ~63% because they both know how to do basic human functions like breath and digest shit but beyond that have just lived extremely different lives). So, they fuse into one form, which they dub "Trinity" because they're, like, 2/3rds of the Trinity Processor. Trinity looked something like this. The hair's green and the eyes were a similar color to Alvis's but a bit lighter. The core crystal fluctuated between having Alvis's colors on the outside with Pneuma's on the inside and vice versa.
But then Trinity can't do jack shit because if Pyra, Mythra, and Alvis basically need to have the same thought in the same instant for Trinity to do anything, which also applies to small details in motion, like how they walk and pronounce shit. So, this form is just kinda twitchy and pointless. So, Shulk and Rex take it upon themselves to take care of them. They end up doing yoga together or something. Alvis feels weird about receiving affection from Rex while Pyra and Mythra feel weird receiving affection from Shulk.
But, yeah, the dream mostly just consisted of them doing yoga together and Trinity falling on their ass. No gender was assigned because I guess my subconscious decided it wasn't worth the effort (not, like, in a nonbinary way, in a "couldn't be bothered" way).
Hate it when usable ideas come to me like this because now I'm like "bruh this is not a good time to get a good fanfiction idea." But also, like, I feel like there could be some really weird angst in there. Like, what if Pyra and Mythra decide not to tell Rex until it's too late for him to stop them because they know he will? What if Rex doesn't trust Alvis because of Wave 4 DLC related reasons? Shalvis isn't a canon ship but also, it's the one I'd be running with in this story, so how's that gonna work out? How does Nia, Mio, and the other two fit into this? Since, like, half of Trinity is a parent with children and the other half is a being who probably hasn't really had the chance to be human. Like, Blades' moralities seem to be shaped through the lens of their Drivers, but that either didn't happen with Alvis or he grew out of it (plus, like, Alvis had to go in a round-about way to kill Zanza, but I don't think Mythra would've had to do that if she wanted to kill Addam, Rex, or Klaus). And how exactly would the split work? Do Pyra and Mythra both count as a quarter of this person or would it be split into thirds? I think 50/50 on the Pneuma and Ontos cores makes more sense, but like, that does mean that Alvis has more leverage over Trinity's actions than either Pyra or Mythra. Which tbf could cause some fun conflict with Rex. Or perhaps Alvis would see that Pyra and Mythra have a life and decide that he shouldn't have independent thought, which would rub ways with Shulk and Pneuma. The mechanics of this are also closer to a failed Pneuma than whatever Pyra and Mythra have going on. It wouldn't be, like, swapping between the three of them. Just all of them at once. Also, I'd probably want to adapt the limitations to be way less strict than what happened in my dream simply for the sake of there being any potential for a plot.
#but yeah weird dream#they fused in a probably horrifying way and then immediately left to go do yoga#xenoblade chronicles#xenoblade chronicles 2#xenoblade spoilers#xenoblade 2 spoilers#xenoblade 3 spoilers#alvis#pyra#mythra#rex#shulk

Hi there! I was actually pretty confused about the floorplan of dra beta, and a quick reference would be very much appreciated! No presh tho lol
aaaaaa!!!!!! (/pos!) heard loud and clear, i’ll get started on that! the only area of the school which i’ve drawn a layout of before is the dorm area, so i went ahead and made a digitalized version of the dorm area, which is under the cut with some notes on the layout! i’ll make floor plans for the other areas, im not even going to try and guesstimate a timeline because. my timelines never pan out, but! tysm for letting me know you’d like a reference, i’ll for sure get that done for the other floors/areas!
in geeeneral, the layout is going to be similar to canon thh, for two reasons. one, that’s effectively canonical hopes peak, so for a hopes peak set killing game, it makes sense! secondly, when beta was first created, dra was near inaccessible, sooo while i draw from dra’s layout more now that there’s gameplay videos which let me see how the schools organized, there was initially NONE of that
there’s definitely some deviations and things to be on the lookout for, and there’s some changes that have been made since posts were first written which i’ve been wanting to go back and update (there’s been changes to how e handbooks function, as well as some things to note about dorm rooms), so! while you can generally use thh as a reference, there’s changes which a floor plan will definitely help illustrate, so i’ll be sure to get on that ☆〜(ゝ。∂)!!!
tldr- you can kinda use thh’s layout, but for assorted reasons, that’s not really accurate, just a little thing to use as reference while i finalize the floor plans!
under the cut, the dorm floor plan + some notes! no spoilers (at least, not past like.. ch1 daily life/the first investigation of the school) just under the cut for length
so, a quick key!
the dorms are color coded because on the original/traditional drawing of the layout, the kids were divided into a-block (green), b-block (red), and c-block (blue). keeping them color coded just helped make things more distinct, andddd i like color <3. yellow spaces are sections which are walled off- the space is unused, there’s no room there, just wall. kobashikawas dorm is at the end of his hallway, and next to him is just. wall. finally, the purple-gray color is the floors of the dorm area, and the white is further parts of the school, leading towards the dining hall and other areas, just… not drawn in
this area is heavily based off thh (which! means it’s also the same as dra, as both games have the same set up), so you can use that to place this area relative to the dining hall, the laundry room, etc. really, this layout isn’t all too special, im mostly showing this to show the dorm placements!
though, i do want to quickly note some details/changes which i need to go back and add into early ch1 posts, when maeda is chatting with tsuzuna about the dorms.
-the dorms are not sound proof. tomori was able to hear tsurugi panic as maeda passed out, and when they tried speaking with each other, it was difficult, but they could communicate while one was in the dorms, and the other in the hallway. they have to be loud- they can’t hear each other when casually talking, but if either of them yelled, the other could hear -they both note that oh, this is where their luggage wound up- their rooms appear to be furnished with the things they were planning to decorate with, and clothes they brought with them have been placed in their closets/etc. -maedas room is very plain, and while most students got one set of school spirit items, maeda has received multiple shirts/sweatpants/other such hpa merch clothing.
map note: unlike canon, maedas handbook does not come with a map of the school. he has a directory which gets updated when he finishes investigating a new floor (which i’ll add to his handbook over on @another-dr-another) but that simply lists the rooms each floor has! more on the functions of this later, but this is relevant because! the floor plans i create are effectively maedas reconstruction of what he sees.
so, in this case, maeda can see the placement/order of everyone’s rooms, however, he has no guarantee that they’re all the same size and shape, he just assumes that’s the case because that’s the standard layout. in future areas, the floor plan mayyy not be a 1:1 recreation of things, simply because maeda isn’t confident of how they’re laid out- he may place the kitchen as being 1/3 the size of the dining hall, when it’s really 1/2 the size, etc etc.

Your bias line is so good and you're so real for being Seokmin biased dk biased creatures are my favourite 😍 my svt bias unit (there are so many i decided to make a whole unit) has Jeonghan, Scoups (remember the green room aggressive 'gwiyomi' video??? Yeah I fell in love with him after watching that) Hoshi and Vernon (he was actually my first bias in svt i religiously watched every YT vid they put out because of him, Jeonghan and Hoshi)
Your neo bias and bias wreckers line is so good too you have TASTE ma'am and we also have some common biases! In the neo bias unit there's Taeyong, Jaehyun, Yuta (127) Jeno and Jaemin (dream), Jisung (U), YangYang (WayV) but despite all these biases my fav member has to be Mork (I'm sorry to all my biases 😭)
From Riize i thought i would end up being Sungchan or Shotaro (still can't believe they aren't in NCT anymore...) biased but I ended up being Wonbin, Sohee and seunghan biased
Other than that it's Hyunjin (stray kids) Mingi (Ateez) i don't really have a bias in got7 they are kinda like big brothers?? But my fav is bambam! Hyungwon and Shownu (monsta x), we have the same bias in Shinee (Key and Jonghyun 😭) Minho is the bias wrecker, Sehun (Exo), Taehyung (BTS), Soobin (txt) Jake (enha), Jihyo (Twice), Seulgi (RV)
Dw I had fun reading through your bias list! I think I gave you an even longer one 😭
FR 7th sense is so perfect i would give up my kidney function privilege to see them perform this live <33
Oh Christopher Nolan! I love his Batman movies and i watched inception which was good too! Which movie of his is your favourite?
Ahh the 00s classics! I love all those movies you mentioned! I really love watching films and TV shows (smth me and Vernon have in common) and one thing that's important to me is the fashion I am a big fashion lunatic and looove to see a good outfit on screen with that being said some of my favourite 'comfort' films are Clueless (1995), Fight club, Adams family (both 91 film and 60s sitcom), funny face, breakfast at Tiffany's, Heathers, pretty woman, the devil wears the prada, mean girls, pulp fiction, fallen angels (1995) and more. My favourite directors are Wong kar wai, Quentin Tarantino, Satoshi Kon and Hayao Miyazaki (maybe Martin scoresse too)
"dk biased creatures"😭 (sums me up though). you're bias line is also so good though😭 but either way i support stanning everyone in svt so ig i would say that anyways🤧🤧 my first biases (as far as i can remember) were wonwoo and shua, and then dk just took over at some point😭
we have so many in common for nct lmao😭😭 i support that a 100% as well. you have taste fr
but omg i get what you're saying about riize. like i for sure believe at this point i'm shotaro biased, but i keep looking at wonbin more and more👀👀
i get what you're saying about got7 being big brothers, but i was also at my peak ahgase at like 15 so ofc i have a bias😭 and i considered writing hyungwon for my bias in monsta x😭😭😭 like i love him sm, but my og bias was jooheon... i'm so illoyal when it comes to them
Sehun was my first bias in exo omg😭😭 (and exo was the group that got me into kpop) and i think taehyung was my first in bts?? because of the war of hormone mv lmao. and omgggg jihyo in twice!!! same!!! i forgot to mention her. and seulgi omg😭😭 you also have taste!! loved reading your bias list as well♡♡♡
omg what wouldn't i do to see 7th sense live😭 it's not a want, it's a need !!
the batman movies are def my least favorites of his bc i just cannot get into action movies😭😭 (except spider-man which is 🔛🔝). but i think memento might be my fave from the ones i've watched
but yess😭😭 i just love those 00s teenage romcoms😭 they just give such good vibes. bridget jones is also an honorable mention. like other than that i like horror movies, esp. cult classics like scream and jennifer's body, but i don't tend to watch those on repeat😭
omggg i love a lot of the movies you mentioned !! we def have similar taste. i don't think i've watched anything by wong kar wai though, what's your favorite movie?? (i love those other directors you mentioned though !)
btw i looked at your profile, and just to make sure, do you go by jolene?♡♡

So uh, little update on this. I'm now like 97% sure we're plural. Still have to read up on like proper terminology & stuff cause i don't want to accidentally be a dick to someone who's also plural.
Also i feel like we don't satisfy the "standard" plural definition? We're pretty aligned, don't really have our own separate memories (we all do suffer from memory issues & weird memory recall tho), and we aren't really sure if we're even wholly separate people. It's a bit like if you were to put a tinted lense on a camera. It's still the same camera & the same scenery you photograph, just tinted in a different color. Some colors shine more with an orange lense than with a green one, and others looks more dull/bland/invisible.
Most of our interactions happen inside, and they're mostly like a discussion. Two of us sometimes chime in with remarks or suggestions or wisdom if they feel i might need it. Sometimes (tho that has gotten really rare) someone other than me fronts. Mostly Books [yes that is her name, no they do not care about their name, they just recognise the practicality in it. They're all about logic & reasoning & remembering facts n stuff. She can be a little cold sometimes; sometimes likes to play devils advocate. She/They for her]. She likes to argue in person sometimes. Or when our hyperfocus is being discussed with someone earnestly, who won't judge us. Then she's really happy to take over & prove herself. She has a lot of fun & enjoyment in those moments. Sadly, they have gotten rare in the last months.
The others are making themselves pretty scarce right now (which is mostly a good thing, no offense). One of them has saved our lives probably a few times. She has been at the forefront for a lot of really heavy & shitty problems and she has done her best to get us through them. I really feel for her. Well, for all of us. We all experienced that shit. She was just the unlucky one who drove the car at the time of crashing, and we were 'only' passengers (metaphorically. We're a good & safe driver lol). I think it takes a harder toll on her. So when she's not needed she mostly relaxes. Sometimes shares her observations if she thinks they'll help us avoid a crisis. But we've all gotten good at that (unfortunately :/ ). She doesn't have a name right now. Also doesn't want a name rn. A placeholder would feel wrong also. Dunno. If i'd have to choose a name for her from our existing name collection it'd probably be Rosa.
The last one is so similar to myself, there's barely a distinction. We function so well in tandem we often bleed into each other (if that makes sense?). I call her Chloe/sometimes Aloy. She likes Chloe more most of the time. We both like being social. She more than i do. She likes partying, taking drugs (in moderation ofc she's not stupid), socialising, getting us to relax & take a break. I have some difficulty with all that. She helps me. But i've been getting better at spotting when to take a break. Still struggling with seeing when i need to get out & talk to people. She also sometimes helps us to talk boundaries & be more direct to people. Been struggling with masking & not advocating for myself for while now. She tries to help there too but we're all a little new to that.
So uh, yeah. None of this is really final, still pretty unsure of myself. We're still the same person, just with a different perspective on it. We all answer to the same name(s) we all use. Some just describe parts of us better than others sometimes (that changes too; we're pretty in flux right now). Sometimes i'll use we instead of I if i feel it's more fitting. Sometimes not. Sometimes i'll mean all of us with I, sometimes just me. It won't matter to anybody else in those cases tho, just to us.
So yeah. Small kinda messy update :)
The thing they don't tell you about discovering you're trans is that once you open up that whole can of worms, when you accept something so fundamental as your gender is not built on a stable foundation and can be changed, it gets you thinking about other stuff.
Who am I, really? What parts of me are fabricated, an armor to get me to survive until where i am now? How much of me is real under that? Will the house of cards that is my personality crumble when i look too hard?
Is there even an I or is there a we? Are we more than one, or just a lot of different-thinking and different-behaving facets of one another? We're a lot different at times, but we mostly work together. We wouldn't be able to cope so well and be so functional if it weren't for all of us working together, chiming in.
How much of my memories is trauma? How can i break free of that if it's all i have ever known?
Is the person i am now even real? Maybe the me from before was more Me. Maybe i just keep coming up with coping mechanisms and behaviors because i learned it that way, and i keep myself from just experiencing myself.
What else is there but change? Are there any constants, really? So much of me has been in flux lately, i don't know what pieces to hold on to and what pieces to discard.
#rayla talks#my experiences#ha or i guess our experiences#identity crisis#we're still all me and i'm all them. might not make sense to you but it does to us and that's most important.

ALRIGHT. THIS IS GONNA GET KINDA LONG
ok so firstly. IS FI OKAY????? my guess is Yes because of the blue glow that we associate with her (but she's probably not doing too hot,,,, since she essentially IS the sword.) (side note but i used to be mad that fi's appearance didn't change with the goddess blade as you improved it, but then i remembered that ghirahim only changes form because he's dropping a disguise of sorts, and letting out his 'true' appearance, which i imagine fi is capable of doing as well.... but at the level of damage we see the sword at, i'm not sure about that now....) anyways!! it's super interesting to me that it managed to destroy the entire?? blade?? we can see that the damage stops right at the triforce emblem, which isn't just a symbolic thing- the emblem only shows up on the master sword after zelda blesses the blade in skyward sword. it's a direct representation of her- hylia's- powers, and that's clearly the only thing that saved any part of the blade. still ODD considering the master sword is untouchable by any form of darkness? it's the blade that pierces evil, it can't be resisted- so how did it get DESTROYED? it's clear from the way it was destroyed that it was from the Malice, and i say that because of, well. everything about it! the circular, smoke-like movements, the jittering lines- if you look at the holes as well, you can see how similar they are to how dehydrated ganon's body looks.
i know that some people are probably gonna go 'it was the green magic glowy hand that broke it!!' but just look at how the hand affected LINK! and we KNOW it was the hand, so just by comparing the patterns we can clearly see it's not the same. also we don't know enough about the magic hand to understand how strong it is or what it's motives are but we do know that it helps link so i REALLY doubt it would destroy the master sword but then this all begs the question once again- HOW?!?! unfortunately we just! don't know! hahaha it's totally fine!!!
another side note but i have a theory about Fi and her ability to communicate with zelda and not with link, which i'm sure other people have also theorized but. i'll make a post about it.
SO. where the fuck is our guy at!!!! it's clearly some place in the sky based on what we've been shown before, and there's this. glowing mass in front of him, which also reacts to his funky hand and seems to activate it? my first thought was "Urbosa???" bc that's her color, but I don't think that's it. link grabs the master sword and it's because he's seeing it to react with this glowy thing... and listen. obviously there's going to be some mechanic where we need to repair the master sword- it's really common for the series, even when the master sword isn't 'damaged'. i've got 2 ideas for this: 1. these glowy spots will replace the function of shrines, since there shouldn't be any more shrines to complete (narratively, it makes sense) and instead of enhancing link's soul, we're repairing the sword 2. this glow functions a lot like the flames in skyward sword and how they helped forge the master sword- except now they're going to reforge the sword
it also makes sense both ways having this area in the sky since we're already very familiar with the botw overworld so it gives us new 'collectibles' or sorts AND it ties in with how skyloft was, and is, the birthplace of the master sword. where better to fix a sword than where it was made? we also see in the skyward sword mini-manga (YES it's canon, it's in the hyrule historia for hylia's sake!!!) that the place the sword was literally created is also what becomes part of skyloft so.... it's up there somewhere-!
BUT THEN I JUST HAVE MORE QUESTIONS. why is the glowy thing reacting to link's funky new hand?? it lights up a symbol on the back of his hand, and it's not something i recognize. it's too complicated to be any form of script, and while it's similar to gerudo writing, it's not vertical enough. much too round, it doesn't fit how gerudo writing, which is really really linear, looks.
it still COULD be gerudo writing, but only if it's a new form of it. there's multiple kinds of hylian script, and specifically skyward sword's and botw's are VERY similar visually, but they're not. we've had the same gerudo text since what, ocarina of time? so it's not a stretch to say it's a new form of gerudo writing.....
anyways, i need to be real-life productive now so i'm going to. do that.
