Nerdanel's side of the family - hcs:
Her mother is Súrë Mírdanel, born in Cuivenen before Oromë came. Súrë ("wind") was a common name for both boys and girls in those first generations, so the epessë (because it is an epessë; she grew up before the naming traditions were codified and was only given one name to start with) serves a similar function to early surnames.
I.e. she is a "jewel-maker" (or jewelry-maker, to start with) and a very skilled one. She stands out a little from most the Noldor in that that she prefers "cold-work", as they call it, wire-working and beading, to the techniques that involve a forge, but she's good at both.
Nerdanel is the youngest of four siblings, in order: Urucalmo Ruendil (M), Súriel Hérunis (F), Russon Aldandur (M) and Nerdanel Istarnië. The others are all grown, or mostly grown by the time she's born.
Urucalmo (usually called Calmo or Ruendil) is mostly serious, but he has a light-hearted streak and Nerdanel puts up with a lot of light teasing from both him and Russon, who is far too inclined to jest for his own good (he has a poetic nature too though, and when that shines through people get surprised that he can feel things deeply)
Súriel Hérunis has a calm, powerful deportment and usually ends up leading the proceedings in whatever company she finds herself without quite meaning to, which characteristic is referenced by her mother-name (Héru = "lady")
Urucalmo married a woman of the Aulenduri before Nerdanel was born. They only have one daughter, Carnemírë Istimiel, who is elf!15 by the time Maedhros is born.
Súriel has three children, in order: Elendur Vórimon (M), Hériel Veryanis (F), Nierwen Mirimë (F).
I have no idea whether Elendur is older or younger than Maedhros (definitely not the same age though), but the girls definitely are younger.
None of Mahtan's children participate in the Flight, although Russon would have if he hadn't been against following Fëanor on principle (the family had some choice words they wanted to say to Nerdanel's wayward husband)
Carnemírë also chooses to stay, but Súriel's children are persuaded by Fëanor's words and start preparing to leave.
Elendur has been strongly disquieted by the Oath however, and after an agonising debate with himself changes his mind in the middle of things and decides that he cannot take part in a venture begun with such words, not even for his sisters.
He definitely manages to find Maedhros and ask him to take care of his younger siblings for him before he returns home though.
Maedhros doesn't promise (he is already bound), but says he will.
Both the girls take part in the Kinslaying and Hériel is slain. Súriel feels it, but they don't have experience in recognising it yet, and as her body is never found (it fell into the sea and never came up), it takes some time before the family left in Aman really gains certitude of her death. Mirimë arrives in Middle-Earth safely, or as safe as she can be.
In Beleriand she proves herself quite restless, staying in Himring for a few years while it's being built, then spending two centuries in Ossiriand, whose green calm she enjoys, and then moving to Himlad because she wanted to see what it was like.
(Maedhros doesn't quite enjoy it and wishes she stayed within his sight so he could keep at least one of the two safe, but she doesn't listen to him.)
When the Bragollach strikes, she is temporarily visiting in Ossiriand, and during the Nirnaeth forms part of the tiny home guard. She is at the forefront of neither.
She is a big opponent of the second Kinslaying (Hériel wouldn't be), but takes part in it reluctantly. Then she has the crazy idea to leave Beleriand and makes off on her own.
She actually survives? and appears for the tail end of the War of Wrath, hangs around for part of the second age (with periodical ventures to parts unknown) and goes on to live in Rivendell for a while, before sailing in the early days of the third.
She kinda grows pretty cynical over the years.
Also please forget that it was part of my url for a long time, but I think she takes on the epessë Ettelen ("foreign") during her travelling days. (*shrug* it's lovely-sounding and I've been waiting a long time to use it; no she's not a self insert - I dearly hope)

Also hair colours, because how else:
Súre: dark/brown
Urucalmo: reddish-brown
Súriel: dark/brown
Russon: red
Carnemírë: red
Elendur: dark reddish-brown
Hériel: dark/black
Mirimë: light reddish-brown
Russon's red is a lighter-orange-y kind, while Carnemírë has the brightest red that's actually possible to have as a hair colour. Also we're ignoring canon and Nerdanel has red hair, not brown with undertones, because I say so.
