Of all the things I encountered today, Skwisgaar using 'squankos' as the onomatopoeia for freaking geese was not it - have you thought about giving your Scandi kids English classes?
It's painful to see them type out things like 'opportunitits' and 'apologisecks' thinking it's English!!!
Not to mention the whole thing with... honkers... going on with Toki and geese.
I’ve tried, they don’t listen unless I teach them something first!

Especially in this world where as you get older the pressure and assumption that you will have a partner increases it is really important that we create a society where its normal to ask our adult friends for help with things like this
We are a community and you need a variety of friends who can fulfill a variety of different needs and vica versa. Not everyone has a partner, not everyone wants a partner and if you have one no matter how secure you feel in it there's no guarantee something terrible won't happen and we need to be taking opportunitites to actively fulfill these 'traditionally for a romantic partner' support roles in our friends lives
And even if everything does turn out fine in a relationship there's still so much value in having equally strong friendships alongside that in a variety of places - you will feel so much less lonely and better of a person for it

Service 2 October
I did a one-slide presentation for a school event involving showing quick info-graphic presentations around the school. The task was rather simple, however I learned some additional information about the topic of starship flight test 5. Even though, I knew a lot presenting my knowledge encouraged me to go in depth into the ideas and do more detailed research with critical evaluation. By interpreting the data from articles I could organise and realise the power of the rocket and how big of an accomplishment it is. I hope that in the future I can participate in more service opportunitites inside and outside school.

she  enjoyed  any  kind  of  company,  and  it  was  nice  to  be  on  the  receiving  end  for  once.  and  in  such  an  unusual  turn  of  events  as  well?  in  fact  she  was  quite  delighted  .  .  .  not  that  she'd  straight  up  admit  that  though.
"  ah,  does  my  company  bring  you  that  much  joy?  "  she  teased  instead,  sending  the  scribe  a  smirk.  "  if  that  is  the  case,  rest  assured  there  will  be  many  other  'opportunitites  for  a  good  lunch'  if  that  is  what  you  desire.  "

“You’d be a person that prefers to eat alone.” Of course the scribe wouldn’t find the art in her teasing or perhaps he did this purposely as a way to play off the ‘killjoy’. A DATE she called it. “Label it however you like.” His statement was unapologetic as they arrived at the eatery, though he does enjoy her company whenever she would give it. “I prefer to call it ‘an opportunity for a good lunch’.”

Laughing at Edmund's sarcasm, Rosie tsked in mock disapproval. "No wonder she must take such care to remind you so often, with such significant and promising tidings so easily flying from your head! It is a wonderful thing, I suppose, that she never seems to tire of it. But I am grateful to you -- the more opportunitites you provide her to say so to you, the less she seems to feel compelled to say it to me, and I have too often made the mistake of telling her freely just what I think. So," she laughed. "Your good offices, you see, thus promote the general equanimity of House Malconaire. A very imperial quality, I might say, to make peace amongst the quarrelsome hardly without trying.
"A clever stratagem! And one she seems to fall for each time! But I cannot pretend to be sorry my stepmother prefers Arthur, as I prefer you, and it means I get you all to myself and am not obliged to share you quite so often with poor Sonya, as Eithne must do. Besides, there is some pleasure, I confess, in seeing my stepmother so mistaken, which may not speak very well of me, but which I connot conceal."
Rosie blew out a breath, slowly shaking her head. "How strange it must be, to be placed beyond either wish or thought, in competition with both your own brother and father for a prize you do not want. I am sorry for it. For you and for them, and for Sonya, too. She's just as much a pressed into all this as the rest of you. Poor Sonya. I hope she will find a man who does want her very much, and whom she wants just as much, and who takes her very, very far from her mother!" She laughed, shaking her head. Sonya deserved a much better mother than the one she had gotten, and Rosie -- who had also found herself saddled with Valentina -- couldn't help but pity her most heartily, for she had no other, whereas Rosie did. And she liked to think, too, that Sorcha, Edmund would have liked.
Rosie shrugged with her hands. "I cannot say whether he might be correct. It is our tradition in Astaira that the monarch must ask the people's permission to wed...Without that permission given, I cannot say whether the general public will hold with the legitimacy of such a union...Those who consider her still to rule over them, that is," she added quickly, biting her lip. She knew the tense position he was in and generally did her utmost to avoid making it still more complicated by too closely alluding to her own political views which rather differed, in truth, from his father's. "But I am sure there are those who would see it as a favorable gesture, as well. Eilionora was a much beloved queen to us all, in her time. As I suppose you may know, I, myself, once served as one of her handmaidens, and I recall very well how very fond everyone was. But the memories I treasure of her involve us all playing amongst the waves of Hanthom as children. Such summers we had! Believe it or not," she added with a laugh. "Even before we met Cassimir, we had a figure upon whom to practice our practical jokes in the inimitable Lord Calleary, as he is now to be called...Though, admittedly, Eilia was rarely a part of that!"
She fell quiet, then. It was perhaps neither advisable nor kind to speak too much to him of the time before the conquest and, in truth, she'd not intended to say a word of it. But it was difficult to avoid entirely: that had been most of her life, after all. She shook her head and began speaking, hoping to distract them both. "I hope you will take the opportunity to visit Hanthom often, now that it is under your lord uncle's charge. It is a wonderful place! And I'm sure you'll find yourself as fond of it as I am, in no time."
He smiled, and despite herself, Rosie smiled with him, suspecting from his expression, that some part of him was laughing at her misunderstanding of his father. She was sure she seemed very naive to him very often, but he was always gracious about it, and she appearciated that greatly. Yet, as his smile faded, she watched a familiar shadow creep over him, one she saw far too often, and a familiar ache came over her. A childhood like his, she thought, must have been lonely, terribly lonely. Siblings he had, yes, but Rosie had had a great deal of leisure to observe his relationships with them. They more closely resembled what she shared with Cassimir than with any of her sisters. How dreadful it would have been, she thought, to find herself alone with four Cassimirs and not another sibling at all! Even his closer siblings, Sebastian and Cassandra, appeared to her to be strained in their way, and it was not difficult to imagine why that might be, with two separate mothers living simultaneously beneath the same roof! And there was that other item, too, of competition. It was clear even to Rosie, that only three of Roderick's children were being considered for the role of emperor, but if he would not split the empire three ways, then...What was the plan? And what was to become of those not in contension at all? Their lot, she supposed must be not unlike those of any second or later child in Astaira: to wed well and promote the wishes of the eldest, for the good of all. Perhaps the other failed heirs would joined the others in this, once the choice was made. Rosie could see why Edmund would not much like this: to have a mind like his wasted on the whims of one like Arthur's struck her as tragic.
Still, as he spoke of how stale the competition had evidently grown, Rosie reached forward and took his hand. "I'm sure that's not so," she said. "It is political necessity, alone, that moves him, I am sure of it, what with the riots and things. Perhaps he does not say so, but I am convinced he is proud of you. How could he be otherwise? You're so clever and caring and determined and perceptive and -- dare I say? --" This with a dash of humor to lighten the mood. "Mischievous and --" Catching herself, she felt her cheeks heat a touch. "Well..." Her tone was very soft. "Who could ever tire of you? Now," she added, seeing his spirits required a little raising, and fearing lest perhaps she'd ventured a touch too close to the refrain of feeling for real comfort, she determined that a jaunt was just the thing. "Let's away. I've so much to show you, and I fear the rain will not last so long as, I confess, I would like."
He'd said 'once,' in a significant way, and she realized that he must have seen Malconaire quite at its worst, no doubt passing through the smoldering ruins after the battle with his father, or perhaps even on his own after the Pyre Walk, on the way to Stafford.
"Now, I must ask you," she began as she drew him out into the rain which, much to her own regret was already beginning to diminish. "To use your imagination, somewhat. We still have not quite fully recovered." No need to say from what. She was sure he knew of the battle. "But my sisters and I pride ourselves that the process is begun with our help. Whenever we get a chance, we do so try to go; to do what we can, but I am sorry to say it is not nearly so often as anybody would like.
"But where you see char and damaged rooves and walls and the rest, you must promise to picture great bowers of climbing roses and ivy in their place, and where scorched earth, instead great, wonderful trees and beds of flowers of every color but especially white lilies from my mother, and snowdrops growing everywhere wild and, oh, green, absolutely everywhere green! Green and green!
"That is the Malconaire of my childhood, and that -- I am determined, you see -- is the Malconaire of the future, as well. You will love it, Éamonn," she said, affectionately using the Astairan version of his name, as she sometimes did. "I know it, as soon as you see what I see, you will love it. And the people, they are such good people. You will love them as much as I do, I am sure of it!"
On My Way Home | Roisin & Edmund
The day was crisp and Rose would swear she could smell autumn, if asked. I t seemed to cling to the air, packed earth and moss and mushrooms and decaying leaves, a warm-cool kind of musk that belonged only to the golden-bright glamor of falling leaves. Rose could find something to love in the changing of any season, but this was perhaps her favorite season of all. As summer gave way to fall, there was a kind of new innocence to the earth, she always imagined.
Oh, most saw spring as the time of rebirth, but autumn had its special magic, particularly on rainy days. There was something in the sharp crack of lightning and the low rumble of thunder rolling across skies caressed by crimson leaves that felt fresh and bright in a way no other season could quite capture. Yes, spring was a return, but autumn was a rebirth, utterly new and wild and untamed.
Today threanted to be just that kind of day -- all sky-splitting storms, but there was a thrill to that which enchanted Rose, merely making her wish to relish it and, in some wild part of her heart, to be out in it. As a result, she busied herself with plucking summer's final offerings: the wildflowers that volunteered in the meadows of the Malconaire estate. Rough winds rolled them away, sweeping a world of petals across the meadow and, in her way, Rose smiled to watch them whirl away, a feral dance amongst the high-growing grasses.
Laughing, Rose tucked the bouquet against her chest, pulling her cloak tenderly around them in the hopes that they would not be stripped of all their petals before she reached the shelter of the house, and darted for it. Her skirts and cape swirled all around her and Rose found herself laughing once again, half running, half leaping. Rain was pelting from the skies now in large, heavy drops as she hurled herself in the door, surprising a nearby chicken who squawked and flapped her wings most indignantly.
"Well, what did you expect?" she said merrily to the fowl. "I think I blew in just as much as I ran, and I can't fly any more than you can."
Smirking, she popped the bundle of flowers into a vase, already half filled with water, and turned towards the window to watch the storm...in time see a reflection in it. Gasping and whirling around, she seized the vase, ready to smash it, only to come face to face with Edmund.
"Oh! It's you!" Quickly, she deposited the pottery back on the shelf and laughing, shook her head. "I thought you were a thief. I was about to attack you with that. Terribly formidable of me, I know," laughed Rose, arching her brows, and realizing he had probably seen her address the chicken. She smirked, shrugged. "Never a dull moment, is there? I can't imagine you've received such a reception in any other household, today, have you? I do so love to make an impression."

We Want You!
Our Voices is an online, social-issues oriented magazine by diverse contributors from around the world. We pride ourselves in working to build a team of members from all ways of life, political parties, and backgrounds. We believe it is vital that the voices of all generations are expressed both accurately and beautifully through art and delicately crafted pieces.
We are looking to build a team of passionate, dedicated and current events-oriented artists from across the globe. We proudly provide opportunities to all youth, despite age, race, gender, experience, sexual orientation, political orientation, economic status, and religion. If you’re interested, keep reading!
Submissions
This month’s issue is themed “Pride”. Though we recognize that may sound ubiquitous of LGBTQ+ issues, and we welcome articles pertaining to this subject, it is rather intended to be indicative of cultural pride. Tell us about the your journey to pride, why you’re proud of your heritage, or however you may choose to interpret the topic. It’s intentionally vague, for we want to hear your voice in its purest form. We’re looking for art and writing pieces, including poetry, personal essays, narratives, non-fiction pieces, fiction pieces, photography, physical art pieces, illustrations, typography, digital art pieces, or graphic designs.
For writers, we are seeking creators that are truly passionate about their craft. But, we also pride ourselves in having an atmosphere of diversity. For this reason, personal essays, specifically those about struggles you have faced, are incredibly appealing to us. Additionally, we want you to choose a point of view. If you hate the government and think it’s oppressive, tell us. If you think Trump’s the greatest thing to happen to America, tell us. We’re open and excited about reading pieces from all perspectives, but in order to do so, we must be presented with them.
For artists, we are seeking creators that are both creative and carry a strong message within their artwork. We find the telling of a story incredibly appealing, and believe strongly that art must have a purpose past the design of colors. Finally, as we are a activism-oriented magazine, we ask that all artists interested in working with us regularly intend to encapsulate similar ideals in their artwork.
If you have written a piece that you feel fits within these guidelines, please submit it here.
Staff Positions
Writers
We are seeking creators that are truly passionate about their craft.
Staff writers are committed to creating a minimum of one piece per monthly issue, though they will have the opportunity to write more, should they so choose. If you are interested in applying, click here.
Editors
We are seeking editors that have an excellent command of the English knowledge, but also that understand how pieces should sound. We are looking for editors to make suggestions far past that of grammar and spelling, but about issues like word choice, elaboration, and more. Also, we are seeking editors that are passionate about their craft. Finally, we are looking for editors to fact check pieces. If you are not comfortable doing so, we ask that you do not apply. This is arguably the most important part of any editor’s job, and must be handled with extreme care.
Staff editors are committed to editing a minimum of two pieces per monthly issue, though they will have the opportunity to edit more, should they so choose. If you are interested in applying, click here.
Designers
We are seeking designers that are both creative and well versed in magazine design. This includes typography, image manipulation, and the typical principles of graphic design.  Color palettes are also incredibly important to us, as we are a visual magazine.
Staff designers will work with a team to produce monthly layouts and issues. Specific time commitments will vary based on what the designer is seeking. If you are interested in applying, click here.
Artists
For artists, we are seeking creators that are both creative and carry a strong message within their artwork. We find the telling of a story incredibly appealing, and believe strongly that art must have a purpose past the design of colors.
