This is the letter that I’m sending to the CEO of @netflix with one of my rainbow tie-dye flip flops.

Question: if we send in one flip flop what do we do with its twin? Should we send that like a month later and watch Netflix scramble to pair them up from a pile of thousands? Or keep it as a memoir, depriving it of its twin forever? 😂
Honestly, I’d send the twin too a few days later! Might as well lol

It seems like #OperationFlipFlop is getting a real thing? What do you think about that? And if you like that idea, how can we support that idea even more? because i think it not really popular yet. I think alot of people would do it too, if they would knew about that?
I think it’s amazing that we’re all managing to come up with amazing ideas to help the cause we’re fighting for. How to support it? I’d say continue tweeting it, come up with even more ideas. Absolutely everything helps but it was trending for a bit on twitter I think. I believe we’re doing good when it comes to trending things that can help our case.

Original Twitter post/ idea #OperationFlipFlop
Everyone has a varied opinion of whether this is good.
As for me, I think YES, it absolutely is a good, creative idea!
Is it silly/humorous? Yes. But that does not mean that it undermines our message or legitimacy to Netflix. It’s a) respectful b) it shows our dedication, attention to detail and impact of Sense8 in our lives and c) presumably if accompanied by a detailed letter of explanation, it creates a lasting impression in the form of a physical prop, far more difficult to ignore than a letter alone.

I had spent years wondering why I’d wanted this particular item (and its match) of footwear so badly (I’m not usually the type to wear that kind of thing outside of Pride attendance or ironically). Now I know that I was meant to foster it for:
Reed Hastings 100 Winchester Circle Los Gatos, CA 95032
... Don’t worry, Reed, its finally coming home to you! I’ll send you the other one if you take your time.

What about the hashtag #operationflipflop (#isense8seasons lmao) or a completely new one? I think using the old ones would not help us to get trending again!
I will just be posting everything I see that can help that you guys are coming up with. Anything and everything counts!

Snowballing problem with Netflix...
And quite frankly their CEO Reed Hastings:
1) Netflix cancels Sense8, and he specifically calls for higher cancellation rates overall, which a) undercuts what I believe is something that sets Netflix apart, in that up to this point they didn’t act like a ransack network until recently b) this strikes a blow on one of their most original, bar raising, norm challenging and diverse series.
2) Hastings backs down his up-until-recently-strong stance supporting net neutrality, citing (source) “Where net neutrality is really important is the Netflix of 10 years ago... It’s not narrowly important to us because we’re big enough to get the deals we want,” Hastings said. “...Netflix isn’t worried about its ability to survive...[net neutrality is] not our primary battle at this point...we don’t have a special vulnerability to it.”
Oh Reed, you have no idea how hasty and short-sighted you’re being. To quote one of your other original series “It is difficult to scale the heights of power, the fall is swift and easy.” Netflix is ‘big’ now but if it deviates from certain core values it may not always be. You, Hastings, should be the leader on this because it is important, perhaps not specifically for you but for the health of your industry overall. Time to send you another flip flop, since you seem to keep flip flopping on the values of your company.
#OperationFlipFlop:
Netflix Inc 100 Winchester Circle Los Gatos, CA 90532
“Dear Mr Hastings,
Stop being so hasty. Sense8 is great, net neutrality is still a big deal, and until you take a stronger stance in support of both, I hope you take a hard look at the Netflix you’ve built and realize, in the words of your own content that you seem so eager to kill, that to fall from the heights of power is swift and easy.
Sincerely,
-Former subscriber”

What do you think about it? Should we send Netflix one single Flip Flop? If yes we have to organize this as well!

Operation #Sense8ionalGood
Hey Sensates,
I’ve been incredibly frustrated by the cancellation of Sense8. It wasn’t just good, it was great! While I support #OperationFlipFlop (sending ‘Lito’s missing flip flop’ to Netflix with a detailed letter of complaint) as plea to renew the series, I want to do more in the way of activism and I want to hit Netflix in the revenue.
Through the grape vine, I hear that Netflix says “Sense8 costs too much” to produce. My response to Netflix, apart from “your service now costs too much for its depreciated value in quality and vision, is “No, water in Kenya costs too much.”
My vision is to unsubscribe from Netflix until they launch Sense8 season 3, and detail in writing that I am taking that fee and donating to water.org on behalf of Capheus.
If you would like to participate in this activism protest #Sense8ionalGood, not only to #renewSense8 but to promote its impact via charity to the causes it highlights, please reblog and/or tag others. *Important Disclaimer: None of these organizations are affiliated with Netflix/Sense8, they are simply a list of some causes I curated because I feel they are relevant to message of the show and/or it’s various characters. Please feel free to add, especially as is relevant in your part of the world.
Lastly, thank you to all of the Sense8 community, remember kindness is sexy:
