... Is Heaven real? I think that I live there now ... or I would if he had such a power.
At least he brought Alex Claremont-Diaz to life.
Fuck Reed to Hell!
Why this is the most meta thing to ever happen in my life.

Eric Photo Shows off the Benedict Cumberbatch Netflix Series
FEBRUARY 1, 2024
BY SPENCER LEGACY
A new Eric photo has been unveiled by Netflix, teasing the Benedict Cumberbatch series that will be released this year — no exact release date window was given.
“Set in 1980s New York, Eric is a new emotional thriller from Abi Morgan following the desperate search of a father when his nine-year-old son disappears one morning on the way to school,” reads the film‘s synopsis. “Vincent, one of New York’s leading puppeteers and creator of the hugely popular children’s television show, ‘Good Day Sunshine,’ struggles to cope with the loss of his son, Edgar, becoming increasingly distressed and volatile.
“Full of self-loathing and guilt around Edgar’s disappearance, he clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, ERIC, convinced that if he can get ERIC on TV, then Edgar will come home. As Vincent’s progressively destructive behavior alienates his family, his work colleagues, and the detectives trying to help him, it’s Eric, a delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the pursuit to bring his son home.”
You can see the new Eric photo below:

Who made Eric?
Eric was made and written by Abi Morgan and directed by Lucy Forbes. The series stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Gaby Hoffman, and McKinley Belcher III and was executive produced by Abi Morgan, Jane Featherstone, Lucy Dyke, Lucy Forbes, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
"... a father when his nine-year-old son disappears one morning on the way to school..."
A repeat of the narrative in the BBC series Ben did, about his missing daughter. AND very fucking triggering for real parents
“Vincent"
Doctor Strange's middle name
‘Good Day Sunshine,’
Isn't that a fucking Beatles song?
"...becoming increasingly distressed and volatile..."
Just like in every other film, Benedict gets forced into.
"blue puppet.."
Another way to put a code for water in the film; a threat and trigger
What I'm seeing is that members of the cult get a crack at torture of the Monarch. It ends here. Benedict, you now have a growing list of NEGATIVE rather than positive projects on your CV. I guarantee your fans are not going to be happy seeing you in repetitive, B level, triggering shite. Normally, an actor only plays a bereaving parent ONCE (cheesy 70s films, do not apply)
YOU have now played a grieving parent of a young child, twice. I'm not even impressed that you're listed as a Producer. Because I know you had nothing to do with the script, but people will think you did, and that you're ripping off your own stuff. So over the self-loathing, sad, slowly cracking up bullshit.
TEWSF...CRAP
BOOK OF CLARENCE...CRAP
ERIC...CRAP!
Benedict, get your shit together. I mean it.

Netflix DVD Is Letting Subscribers Keep Their Final Shipment
Netflix’s DVD subscription platform will allow subscribers to keep their final delivery of DVDs as the company prepares to close its 25-year-old service, the company announced on Monday. Netflix: A Lasting Legacy or an Uncertain Future?
In the ever-evolving landscape of the entertainment industry, few companies have demonstrated the ability to adapt and thrive amidst fierce competition like Netflix. From its humble beginnings as a DVD rental-by-mail service, Netflix has transformed itself into a global streaming giant. However, as history often repeats itself, Netflix finds itself facing familiar challenges in 2021, reminiscent…

Things that have not been lost on me:
Both my favourite TV show and my favourite movie (which is an adaption of my favourite book) both have graphic, yet gorgeous, queer sex scenes that look like works of art and also have beautifully tender scenes that take place in museums.
Both have a very multicultural cast.
Both have an impeccable soundtrack.
Both are about overcoming odds against an archaic entity based in London.
I have great taste as both were unmitigated global phenomenons (fuck you, Reed, this strike is exactly what you deserve).
Coincidentally, both have a Latino with a Z in their last name who was forced out of the closet by a jealous asshole, but that actually led to the prior getting better career opportunities in their respective public-speaking fields and being able to be public with the men they love.
Both were created by trans/non-binary individuals so maybe let us tell more stories!
FirstPrince is very Nomanita-coded.
... (What I only just now realized) More than half of this can also be said about my favourite musical.

Reed Hastings is an American entrepreneur. He is the Co-founder and CEO of the media rental service Netflix.
In 1997 Hastings started with the idea of a subscription-based movie-rental service, after he had gone through a large late fee when he failed to return a store-rented videocassette.

Netflix cofounder Reed Hastings donates $1.1 billion to charity | Fortune
Netflix’s Reed Hastings didn’t just give a whopping 20% of his net worth to charity with a massive $1.1 billion donation—there’s a major tax consideration
The Netflix cofounder gave 2 million shares to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a popular charity among tech billionaires.
BY JANE THIER
January 31, 2024 4:57 PM EST
Last week, Netflix cofounder, executive chairman, and former CEO Reed Hastings gave about 40% of his company stock—worth about $1.1 billion—away as a gift. An SEC filing from Jan. 24 shows Hastings giving the 2 million shares to an unnamed entity. The filing includes a transaction code marked “G,” which indicates a “bona fide gift.”
It’s a stunningly large donation, not just Hastings’s largest ever, but representing something like 20% of his net worth. After this donation, Hastings is worth an estimated $4.1 billion, per Forbes, much of which is tied up in his remaining ownership of just under 3 million Netflix shares through his family trust, worth roughly $1.7 billion.
Hastings, along with his wife, Patty Quillin, has long supported an array of charitable initiatives, including a gift of $120 million to the United Negro College Fund and two historically Black colleges in 2020. Hastings and Quillin have also signed Bill Gates and Warren Buffett’s Giving Pledge. But because of its structure, this particular contribution likely comes with stunningly large tax savings.
The gift went to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF), a charity geared at addressing systemic inequalities in the Bay Area, a Netflix spokesperson told Bloomberg, which was among the first to report on the donation. The gift will likely be used in the foundation’s initiatives for affordable housing, childhood development, and disaster relief, among other causes.
SVCF is a popular destination for the area’s philanthropic tech billionaires; Twitter founder Jack Dorsey is a donor, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, his wife, have given $1.5 billion to SVCF, Variety reported.
Not only will Mr Netflix catch a huge tax break from this, Silicon Valley Community Foundation is partnered with the British charity, Choose Love, which is named as a dedication to Aleister Crowley, and according to Corporate Watch, has a steady history of suspect financials, interfering in how other countries, like France, handle their immigration, and abuse of its employees. So, right up Reed Hastings' alley. There is NOTHING that the rest of this country can trust about Silicon Valley, which also has a bunch of trafficking scandals within it's halls.

The history of Netflix is one of the most fascinating company stories - but at one point, Netflix was a small DVD rental service on the verge of going out of business, and they were desperately trying to sell their company to their biggest competitor, Blockbuster... But Blockbuster went bankrupt & Netflix went on to be worth well over $200 billion dollars, so how did Netflix do it? And most importantly, why is Netflix now in very deep trouble?
