Drive: Venin and Opal have you ever imagined what you look like if you two swapped species or sizes?
Opal: ? We're...the same species. You mean race? I don't want to be a unicorn. No offense to my sister or venin, but it seems like a hassel.
Venin: Wha- well- I wouldn't want to be an earth pony either-!
Opal: oh? and why's that?
Venin: You can only do agriculture, I like my magic and not having to grab things with my mouth.
Opal: At least i'm not a snooty Unicorn prince who can barely lift a haybale without spraining something.
Venin: i- raising haybales is beneath me-! Besides- why would I do manual labor when you're the one with strength??
Opal: but you love my strength.
Venin: your point?
Opal: *smirk* ohhh you think I don't know it but you like being a little prince~
Venin: eh-
Opal: you don't have to admit it, all you unicorns are the same~ You like acting weak and helpless so you can get big strong people like me to help you~
Venin: *blush* that's not- why are you getting closer-
Opal: *pushes Venin to the wall* no I get it~ Cuz while you giggle about your magical power all you really want is somepony with big strong muscles to work your body over like I would plow a field at the farm~ right?~
Venin: *Venin's face flushes red as Opal leans close, his hooves on his waist*
Opal: I gotcha figured out, little prince~ *Opal kisses Venin's neck, then suddenly walks away from him* As for swapping sizes, I worked hard to become this huge hunk of muscle I am now on the outside for years. I don't like being a little twink like somepony else in this room~
Venin: *steam rising off his head* y-yeah what he said-
Opal: Hope that answer's your Question.

What I think OSMU would be in the mlp AU:
Opal: pegasus. Longs to leave the Arctic to find somewhere warmer where she can fly.
Omar: earth pony. Doesn't understand Opal completely, but he agrees with her other reasons and he wants to see the world so there's that.
Oswald: unicorn. Mostly uses his telekinesis for sorting stuff in his job as a library-museum pony, but has been tempted to try out stuff in old spellbooks every so often.
Orla: dunno atm. was very young when the event celebrated on Hearth's Warming Eve occured. Still guards the 44-leaf clover.
Oprah/the Big O is still here and looks WAY more regal than when we last saw her(s2 finale). Like our main 4 are astounded by it when they first see her.
Veering off the OSMU track, I think Olive is protective of Otto, as in canon, but it gets extreme sometimes. Blank flank insult from Oren? She will yeet him across the room with her telekinesis. It takes a lot out of her to lift a whole pony tho. Aside from the fact that Ms. O is an alicorn who could easily overpower her if she tried that, that's why she opted for a stunpulse during "Ms. O Uh-Oh".
Also I wonder if there's some sort of ritual that Directors go through to turn their successors into alicorns. T'would be interesting!
yeah! so i never really got around to watching osmu beyond the few episodes i managed to catch on pbs kids but i know some things and yeah this seems pretty accurate, might have to steal from this haha
anyways yeah mlp Olive is so funny to me, she's pretty good at magic and all that but she's also still into sports and athletic stuff which most don't really expect from a unicorn so sometimes she'll pull stuff like letting someone think she's going to fight them with magic and then opting to kick them across the room horse style or something. Ms. O does stuff like this as well since she was an earth pony first before becoming an alicorn and she has the earth pony strength and resilience and everything. she has a full grip on her alicorn abilities because she's been one for a long while now but she still does stuff like kick holes in walls just because. you do not want to end up in a fight with either of them they have both magic and physical strength and you WILL lose.
and about the alicorn bit i've actually been plotting out some of the alicorn stuff and you got it pretty close with the ritual thing actually! in my mind when a director has to step down or leave for whatever reason they either have to hand off their alicorndom to their successor themselves or they have it revoked by someone else and passed on for them if that makes sense. it's just so that there aren't any random alicorn civilians out there or anything lol. because in my mind at least director level alicorns aren't technically royal alicorns (if they are they're very low ranking) they just have alicorn powers and leader status. however the Big O position does come with royal alicorn status, with their sorta domain being the whole organization since it's all across equestria and everything. so yeah you pretty much got it spot on with the whole idea of Big O Oprah being more regal and powerful looking because she's technically a princess now! she's very small compared to the other princesses but she's a princess nonetheless :)
i also have some silly facts about alicorn Olive and Otto in particular that i might share later if i feel like it but i don't know if i should wait until i've drawn them or not sdhfjh
#i am planning on drawing them soon though i've just been a bit busy lately#odd squad#mlp#mlp au#odd squad mlp au#<- tag for this au maybe??

DCA Info Part 14: Ceremonial Dorm Sorting and the Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony
The art used is from this post
Ceremonial Dorm Sorting
First years are brought to the throne room by the crystal carriage. The carriage has soft bedding inside of it and the student sleeps soundly as they are transported.
Unlike NRC's carriage that holds coffins, the student is merely slumbering on the bed provided in the carriage, the windows are covered by curtains of course. The carriage is pulled by two unicorns who are trained by the school to retrieve the chosen students.
How the unicorns can traverse through several miles with a student on top of that is a complete mystery.
When the students arrive at the academy, they are placed at the sorting room that actually has two parts. The first half is the large garden where the girls all sleep on the soft grass surrounded by mysterious flowers. While the other half is where the dorm sorting occurs.
The dorm fairies enter the garden where they will use their magic on the flowers that will awaken the students. Then they will lead the students to the dorm sorting area where the staff and the dorm leaders will wait for them.
The room looks like a crystalized ballroom. There is a fountain on the far end at the center and in front of it lies a podium where a jewelry box with a key is placed. The walls have stained glass portraits of the ten princesses where the dorm leaders will have to stand by their respective window as the dorm sorting commences.
The Royal Jewelry Box
This is a magical tool that is the prized possession of the academy, much like the Dark Mirror in NRC.
The jewelry box will only be opened by the key that is always next to it. Even though it seems like others might be able to open it easily, it won't be as simple as that.
The jewelry box has a sentience of its own and will only let the key be used to whomever it deems worthy. Anyone unworthy who tries to pick up the key would feel hot iron on their skin.
Trying to pry it open wouldn't work either and even if you drop a heavy weight on it, the box will still be in good condition.
The students will be called one by one to turn the key of the jewelry box where they will gain a jewel. This jewel will be placed on their head which will magically turn into a crown that they will wear alongside their Ceremonial Gowns.
The crown's design is based on the dorm, said design is the same for all the students of that particular dorm.
Ceremonial Crowns
🍎 Pommeneige's crown has a tree branches incorporated in it's design and has a ruby jewel.
👠 Glastanzerin's crown has a small castle incorporated in it's design and has an opal gem.
🐰 Futterwacken's "crown" consists of a flower wreath with an ametrine gem.
🌹 Rosadormienti's crown has roses and thorns incorporated in it's design and has a rose quartz gem.
🐠 Coquille's crown has seashells incorporated in it's design and has purple colored pearl.
📚 Chateau Beastiale's crown has a design reminiscent of the Beast's horns and has a topaz jewel.
🏝️ Magiaoasis's crown has swirly lines incorporated in it's design and has a sapphire jewel.
🐲 Dragonstone's crown has a dragon incorporated in it's design and has a garnet jewel.
🍂 Sagamore's crown has leaves incorporated in it's design and has an amber jewel.
🐸 Lagniappe's crown has lily pads incorporated in it's design and has an emerald gem.
The purpose of the tiara is to signify the dorm the student belongs to. Other than that it's necessary to wear the Ceremonial Crown during occasions where it is mandatory to wear their Ceremonial Gowns.
As for the rings, they will acquire those alongside the crown, as they are given by the school alongside their uniforms for both campus and dorm wear.
The rings are made with magic and can shrink or enlarge to fit the size of the finger the student chooses to wear it on.
The Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony
As the name implies, it is a ceremony to welcome the new students to Diamond Crown Academy. During the ceremony, the dorm tenants have to wear their coronation robes. But only the dorm leaders go to the throne chamber while the tenants have to make sure the welcoming party goes smoothly.
🍎 Pommeneige
The Pommeneige dorm prepares a nice warm meal such as potato and sausage stew, apple dumplings, gooseberry pie and apple cider. These dishes are essential to serve because of the princess who served the seven dwarfs the same dish as a sign of gratitude. So the students eat the meal along with the dwarfs who make them selves comfortable at the dinner table, chatting with the students and sometimes playing around. After eating, the students gather outside and they watch the dwarfs sing and dance. Sometimes the students will be tempted to join in and sing along. Then they share stories about anything they could think of before the day ends.
👠 Glastanzerin
The Glastanzerin dorm gathers the tenants to the large dining hall where there's tea and small cakes to be eaten while they make small talk. The cakes are decorated with fruits coated with nappage glaze. Afterwards, they are lead to a ballroom where the golden statues of noblemen come to life when the clock strikes 8 pm. The students then dance with the statues or just stand around and chat. The ball ends at midnight where the statues go back to their original positions and become inanimate. once again.
🐰 Futterwacken
The Futterwacken dorm will hold a chaotic tea party. They bring out the chocolate fountain that is built with several spouts that are shaped like teapots. The fountain produces about five different syrup flavors, strawberry, chocolate, cream, caramel, and maple syrup. The food they serve is a variety of tarts, waffles and cupcakes that can be decorated using several sprinkles and candies near the fountain. There's also non-dessert dishes served like scotch dodo egg, mushroom stew and tiny-to-large-sandwiches. The drinks are pink lemonade and minty earl gray tea. The teapots dance to the tune of the flowers as they sing, "All in the Golden Afternoon", where even the shrubs and trees would sway to the tune. The flowers take this chance to leave their pots and dance around the students and sometimes stand on the student's head.
🌹 Rosadormienti
For Rosadormienti, the fairies of the dorm would come out and dance about in the air and give minor blessings to the newcomers that last throughout the school year. The blessings can range from luck to protective spells to even small gifts that carry mysterious properties. The students then hold acapella shows where they sing popular songs that have the students joining in too. The dorm isn't too extravagant with the welcoming ceremony but they have fun nonetheless. When the students are asleep, the flowers release glittering pollen that gives them pleasant dreams and help them relax.
🐠 Coquille
The sea creatures and students of the Coquille dorm would attend a musical performance that the upperclassmen would prepare with the dorm leader at the center stage. They do synchronized swimming alongside other sea creatures, they finish it off with the crystal on the roof shining bright. After the performance, the freshmen students have to show their musical capabilities by doing an idol performance of their song of choice. They can perform solo or with a group if they wish. Then afterwards is the tour of the dorm where they show them their dorm rooms as well as a special visit to the Pearl Salon.
📚 Chateau Beastiale
The Chateau Beastiale dorm will of course hold a grand feast courtesy of Gustove and his floating plates accompanied by a singing chandelier. The song, "Be Our Guest", is a song that has been considered a tradition for the furniture to sing. The dishes are a variety of french cuisine and desserts for the students to enjoy. After the magnificent dinner, the students are allowed to roam about and get acquainted with one another. The freshmen are surprised that they get their own talking wardrobe, the wardrobes spend the first hour talking about what style would the student prefer so that they may do their duty to utmost perfection.
🏝️ Magiaoasis
The Magiaoasis dorm would hold their welcoming feast at the dorm's large garden area where the flamingos, peacocks and parrots would fly about and do whatever they please, occasionally a parrot or two would fly close to the students to ask for a small snack before flying off. The feast has a large spread of Middle Eastern cuisine such as, manakeesh, shawarma, baklava, and zainab fingers, with coffee and limon ou nana as refreshments. The feast isn't too extravagant but the calming atmosphere of the sunset with the sounds of chirping birds makes it feel like home.
🐲 Dragonstone
In the case of the Dragonstone dorm, there is a welcoming parade done by the dragons of the dorm, they dance and throw a golden ball around like some sort of game. The climax of the parade is when the ball is thrown high up and it explodes into a bright array of fireworks. After that, the students eat in the dining hall with the dorm leader giving a welcoming speech. The dinner isn't filled with dancing or anything, it's more of lively chatter that paints the image of a large family gathering. There's chinese hotpot, dumplings, peking duck, chow mein and wontons as the main course. Chinese snowflake cake, sticky rice cake, accompanied with complimentary fortune cookies for dessert.
🍂 Sagamore
The Sagamore dorm is more of a less grand impression but it involves students given the reminder of the harmony with the land and it's gifts. The saying, take only what you need and nothing more. There is a table filled with plenty of food such as, roasted turnips and winter squash, turkey with berry-mint sauce, and chia pudding with berries and amaranth for dessert. But they don't eat yet, they have to wait for the dorm leader to hunt one bison for the bison pot roast. The dorm leader goes to hunt for a bison but there is a strict rule that the dorm leader follows if she hunts for a bison, do not kill a female or a baby bison, and the leader of the herd must be left alone. Only hunt a male that isn't a leader, the bisons in this world have certain features that determine the leader such as large horns and a magical rune that symbolizes leader on it's body. When the dorm leader returns with a bison, the students the have the freshmen help with the preparation of cooking the bison pot roast. From there, the dorm leader gives thanks to the blessings of the earth and they tell stories while they eat.
🐸 Lagniappe
The Lagniappe dorm will always start with a jazz band playing classic jazz music or jazz covers. There's dancing and singing in the dorm, the fireflies circle around the boat as the students party. Of course there's going to be food! The famous Gumbo made by the historical figure is to die for, beignets, jambalaya and king cake. Every dish made has to be followed accordingly to the recipes of the princess and the way she did it. Afterwards, the fireflies disperse and put on a light show for them. The animals in the swamp emerge as if to welcome the new students to the dorm. The frogs jump aboard the boat and stick close to the students as if they want to watch the show with them, this is a normal occurrence so the students are reminded to keep in mind of the frogs.

I colored in my proportionate Rarity sketch, plus redesigned Sweetie Belle and Opal! ft. Opal in air jail, magic color reveal, and name reveal!! The characters in my AU follow a specific naming tradition, which required me to give both of them a first name.
[ID: A smaller unicorn with a mauve coat and off-white hair with pink streaks. She has pink heart-shaped patches on her front shoulders and back knees, yellow stylized horseshoes, a pink stripe on the front of her horn, blue and teal eyes. her cutie mark is two eighth notes, one smaller and one bigger.
A white tabby cat is drawn twice. she's fluffy, grouchy, has one yellow eye and one blue, and is wearing a purple collar with an opal hanging off it. on one drawing she is sitting on the ground, in the other she is being lifted into the air with magic.
the last drawing is a unicorn with a black coat and off-white hair wearing gold stylized horseshoes and bracelets, and a gold chain on her glasses that have red cateye frames. : end ID]

So anyways. These were supposed to be adoptables, but I grew attached to them, so I'm gonna try to make a story with them
6 Monster Men
1. Captain Fire Opal(40)
-a infamous pirate of the East Coast of Baril. Stealing from the many eastward countries of Baril, killing off the rulers' children if the rulers of the countries didn't give him all the country's wealth right away. This Lava Rabbit happened to gain a sort of fanbase from the population of the many countries of Sheila. Women swoon for him, despite him being a thief and murder (*cough* *cough* hybristophilia *cough* *cough*).
2.Prince Commonality(24)
-a unicorn centaur that doesn't really like bright colors. Unfortunately he can't dye his bright colored fur, due to the one time he did he got really sick and temporarily lost his magic. So he just sticks to neutral or black and white clothes as a compromise. As the prince of Rainland, a country in the continent of Shelia, he tries to keep his reputation up while also getting into financial trouble with the mafia.
3. Andrew S. Webs(29)
-The best journalist on Main Street of Harbor. This multi-armed fellow is always searching for a good scoop for the next paper. Being able to literally have his eyes "in the skys" by climbing up the buildings and looking down on the city. He can never be bribed out of a good scoop, mainly though he can't really see well so he doesn't trust the bribe is even there. He only really wears his glasses when writing or searching the city.
4. Ameal Last (36)
-the hit man for the Mafia in Rainland. Constantly getting a new name on his list. His silent snake-taur keeps to himself and just does his job, for he knows what's good for him and his family. His highest hit he is trying his damnedest to get is a light purple furred prince that owes 1,000,000 gold + interest, to the Groton Family.
5.Omni Weedle G. (23????)
-coming from the swampy bog just east of Harbor, a mass of moss, algae, and water grass comes crawling out. a shy boy that tends to stay to himself because he doesn't even know what he is and if he fits in anywhere. He doesn't even know who his parents are, or if there is even anymore like him out there. Getting flustered at anything he thinks is just a small bit likely might be flirting. Though despite him not knowing who he is, a certain scaly dude probably knows where he belongs.
6.Shad Veirgon(20)
-a highschool drop out that thinks he could get into a professional league basketball team without finishing highschool nor going to college. He definitely peaked in high school. This shadow lion-man is currently a gas station attendant in his home city. He thinks he's the best Basketball player, even better than the best of the best. Spending his free time at the local basketball court, trying to show off to any ladies that walk past.

Hi, call me Opal Anon, and I wanted to ask if you have any tips on caring for a Blueberry Pie? I have a sizable bookshelf they like to hang around, and sometimes there's a Cream Puff that tends to visit them with a Wizard, though sometimes I catch a glimpse of red or purple on them?
Sure thing ^ ^
Cookie Caring Log: Blueberry Pie!
Class: Ovenbreak/Kingdom
Rarity: Epic
Breeds: Normal, Glass Atrium Respite, Moonlit Memories
Breed behavior changes?: No
Best cookies to pair with: Moonlight, Milky Way, Stardust, Space Doughnut, Sugar Glass, Amber Sugar, Prophet, Alchemist, Latte, Cream Puff, Eclair, Prune Juice, Wildberry, Cream Unicorn, Financier, Wizard, Cinnamon, Sea Fairy, Baguette
Worst cookies to pair with: Any cookie of darkness
Behavior: Blueberry Pies are almost always found near books and libraries, which may explain why they are knowledgeable on all types of subjects (most heavily magic). They are usually very quiet and stern, but are also very polite to those that respect them. Ask them anything, and they’ll almost always have a book that they’ll recommend to you as an answer. Just make sure you respect the books they guard!
Fun fact: Some Blueberry Pies are used as assistants to public libraries, and are usually friendly to the children that come by! They also seem to have a fascination with the moonlight itself…
(Side note: that Cream Puff might be a Dark Magic Hat breed, just so you know ^ ^)

💎Ceremonial Dorm Sorting💎
💎Royal Jewelry Box💎
This is a magical tool that is the prized possession of the academy, much like the Dark Mirror in NRC.
The jewelry box will only be opened by the key that is always next to it. Even though it seems like others might be able to open it easily, it won’t be as simple as that.
The crown’s design is based on the dorm, said design is the same for all the students of that particular dorm.
💎Ceremonial Crowns💎
Pommeneige - Tree branch design + Ruby
Glastanzerin - Small castle design + Opal
Futterwacken - Flower wreath + Ametrine
Rosadormienti - Roses and thorns design + Rose Quartz
Coquille - Seashell design + Purple Pearl
Chateau Beastiale - Beast horns design + Topaz
Magiaoasis - Swirly lines design + Sapphire
Dragonstone - Dragon design + Garnet
Sagamore - Leaf design + Amber
Lagniappe - Lily pad design + Emerald
The purpose of the tiara is to signify the dorm the student belongs to. Other than that it's necessary to wear the Ceremonial Crown during occasions where it is mandatory to wear their Ceremonial Gowns.
As for the rings, they will acquire those alongside the crown, as they are given by the school alongside their uniforms for both campus and dorm wear.
The rings are made with magic and can shrink or enlarge to fit the size of the finger the student chooses to wear it on.

Hey Mocha! I had a few questions about the descendants and the elements, feel free to answer this privately but I thought I'd send them in here. I'll separate my two questions so that you can decide separately for each -
Question 1. What exactly is the timeline here for the og Mane 6 passing, and now their kids taking on their elements? Are there generations in between that havent been discussed?
I don't mind answering publicly! Consider this a sneak peek and a bit of a world-building explanation.
So since the Cinnaverse and by extension the Lemonverse are based in an AU of the original MLP cannon, some events are the same and cannon, while others are slightly different if they even exist at all.
Seasons 1-3 of MLP FIM are cannon to the universe, the difference is Equestria Girls does not happen in the Cinnaverse. (that is why I say the EQG designs of Cinna are considered non-cannon) If you subtract the entire events of EQG, the timeline goes from Season One to about Episode One of Season 5. That is where the slight differences start to happen. Starlight, rather than getting away, was defeated when she was introduced and redeemed throughout what would be "season 5", basically imagine the show's season 5, but include Starlight learning friendship lessons alongside the mane 6. Everything after that is more or less the same, but Starlight doesn't have her second era of villainy.
Her friends passed over about 100 years after MLP FIM's Final Season. Their direct children, (Little Cheese and any children the other mane 6 had) became the bearers of their parent's elements alongside Twilight. The important thing to remember is current day Cinna is 1,000 years removed from Twilight's original group of friends, (Including Starlight, The Student 6, CMC, etc.) Twilight's grief increased with every generation of descendants. The current Descendants, (Crystal Cord, Mascarpone Pie, Gem Mist, Opal Apple, and Lightning Flash) are not direct descendants of the mane 5 (Twilight removed because she has no children) They are descendants 1,000 generations down. That's why some of the races have been switched around, (Except for Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie's because they are historical earth pony families that didn't marry into other pony races) That's why Gem Mist is a Pegasus and Crystal and Lightning are Unicorns.
In short, the answer to your question is yes, many generations of previous descendants haven't been mentioned. But that is why Twilight's grief is so important. She's essentially Blue Diamond from Steven Universe, (Except she grieved for 1,000 years, not multiple thousands of years.) grieving over 5 Pink Diamonds that she hasn't fully accepted are gone. She can't, because she sees the Mane 5 in the descendants, no matter how many years they are removed from the originals. She's also been so consumed by her grief, that she doesn't realize that she's not actually the true element of magic anymore, her star student is rising to that mantle. (Luna Moonstone) She also doesn't realize that the current state of Equestria is currently a MASSIVE friendship problem that more elements have to be created to fix. 🍫
