Aurora has completed all of her goals (plus so much more) and Tristan is a teen so we will be moving on to gen two of this legacy. Usually I wait until the heir is a young adult but for this legacy there are some goals we need to accomplish as a teen so I figured better to get the ball rolling! Don't worry though, Aurora is immortal thanks to the potion of immortality, meaning she will never die of old age. However she will become an elder, so for now I have her take a potion of youth each time she gets close to aging up into an adult. She has so many satisfaction points because I completed multiple aspirations with her once I finished her Bestselling Author one as per gen one rules.

of course they had - with his help - and just like that, with this set of news, ezekiel felt like he was taking one step closer to his promised freedom. he never intended on actually falling for aurora, nor was it encouraged by his designated case detective. it was all supposed to be a facade, a plan facilitated by the feds and ezekiel's parole and judge. get close to the boss's daughter, gather enough intel to burn each stash house, turn the boss man in and walk away with a clean slate.

at first, there was no way way he thought he would pull it off, how could he? but, with time and the right amount of pressure, in the form of blackmail held over him, ez agreed to go as far as being the informative snitch.

he knew the feds would raid the safe house - one of several that had been targeted. "shit," his heart skipped a beat, out of both fear for what that meant for the people he grew to care about, as well as selfish worry that he was another day closer to having to walk away from aurora. "-who was there?"

he tucked his gun in his vest and closed the space between him and the fiery blonde he had grown to fall for within their time together. "i'll go have a look, make sure it's safe and you stay here. okay?" he knew that if something was about to go down, if the raid was just a decoy for something bigger, he had to keep aurora away from whatever could possibly go down after. his hands cupped her features, tilting her head back so that she was to look up at him. "it's gonna be okay."

the hands on her shoulders brought her back to the present. she had to resist the urge to shove them off. instead, she did what she always did. she took what she didn't want to feel and she forced it behind what she had always envisioned as a thick, glass wall. or at least, she tried. it usually worked fairly well but today? not so much. her fury had already permeated too deep. it was in her blood, settled into her bones.

aurora moved over to the dresser without a word. she looked at herself in the mirror and took a moment to wipe a nonexistent smudge of mascara from under her eye, to touch up her lipstick before she turned, still with the same deadpan expression. "my dad called. the feds raided the safe house in queens."

my hot take of 2023 is that i know canonically auri looses all her powers at the end of ae but in my mind she just keeps like a beta version of them where she’s not quite as powerful and literally god-like as before, but her power doesn’t hurt her when she uses it and she’s still able to sense people minds/communicate mentally. so like eshvaren lite, and ofc she uses it to assist the syldrathi as they rebuild their community and culture from the ground up. bc im soooo fed up with authors taking away strong female leads powers *cough cough sjm COUGH COUGH* at the end of a series i could write a book about how overplayed and lazy it is to just strip away a female characters powers after the main conflict of the plot is done as if we can’t trust/imagine her going on to use those powers on her own accord instead of being forced into using them by some figure/event. it makes that character feel so one sided like their value as a person outside of that power is invaluable, instead of using that power to further develop who they are as a person. also to open up all the potential in her and kal being able to communicate telepathically just to throw it all away three chapters later was an actual crime. like y’all better lmk next time you see mr kristoff (bc I just know he was behind that plot point) because i have a warrant out for his arrest and a passion for my cause. ANYWAYS idk if any of this made sense (bc I wrote this at 3 am after waking up in a cold sweat) but i rlly appreciate you coming to my tedtalk <3333 #justiceforterrifyinglypowerfulauri2023
