hello I saw you mention the vanlife au and as the anon who first brought up the idea (I have no way of proving this but like. it's not really relevant anyways) I would like to contribute another scenario/idea thing to it

sabine likes to spray paint the side of the van (she used to paint the entire thing but then it was raining once while they were driving and the paint started to run and cover the windscreen. she was banned after that lol) with little designs. She doesn't seal it so it fades pretty quickly based on the weather cause she likes doing new designs often.

Sabine usually films herself painting it and one time when doing that she ends the tiktok by going to find someone to show it off to so they can do one of those overdramtic reaction shots. In the end she finds Hera or somebody for it, but she films herself walking through the van and along the way she passes Kanan and doesn't ask him. so half the comments are just "Woahhhhh, can't believe kanan doesn't care about his kids interests?? clearly if he did sabine would've asked him to look at it. another reason he's the worst"

(unrelated headcanon that could also apply to regular rebels, but I like to think that after Kanan gets blinded, if Sabine ever paints on canvas or anything like that with thick paint she gives it to Kanan and makes him rate it on texture alone. She’s not doing it just to humour him or as some pity thing either, she wants his actual opinion. I think she'd get really big on trying to incorporate other senses into her art)

Clearly Fizz is also nervous because hello ptsd, trauma, the works, and is nervous when he sees Ozzie get out his kit

Who knows how he was treated when he first got blown up and judging by how scared he is at first when he sees Ozzie pull out scissors he most likely has a lot of medical trauma

And then to see Ozzie handle him with such CARE and take the time to do it in a way where Fizz experiences the least amount of discomfort

Taking the TIME to do it properly and as gentle as he can.

got a lotta thoughts about this movie but the one i keep coming back to is the way that other characters treat Andy and Rain's sibling relationship.

the fact that the filmmakers chose to make Andy a black man with a white sibling is so significant when talking about the parallels to real-life racism. as a white person with a black sibling it reminded me intensely of a lot of occasions in mine and my sisters lives when her familial relationships to her white family members have been diminished by others. some stories aren't mine to tell but i will say that i always felt that others would emphasise the half in half-sibling when they spoke about us in a way they wouldn't with two white half-siblings.

in the movie Bjorn and Navarro were also adoptive siblings, but it was Rain and Andy's relationship that was denied and put down because Andy is black an android.

when the other characters talked about how Andy wasn't 'really' Rain's brother i noticed quite often they were saying it to Rain, to try to get her to distance herself from him (and to link it to our world, his blackness). reminds me so much of how when i'd talk about my sister others would very insistantly say "you mean your half-sister". always with a certain tone in the word half. mixed-race people are so often forced to be half of something, and never a whole. and for a good portion of the movie, Andy was half Rain's brother and half the property of Weyland-Yutani.
