I’m getting kinda feral about Ryuki today so I wanna bring up something else

Since the entire Ryuki side of the story is pretty much just everything he tells Mizuki about what happened 6 years ago, this begs the question: is his summary including the parts that are from the future, or is this just a writing error?

It’d make sense if it was just an error like. First off if Ryuki could see the future that’d be a whole mess, plus the future he’s seeing here isn’t even in the right timeline, it’s all what happens on the B side. Plus, the whole twist of not knowing what the proper timeline is is already a pretty iffy twist because it’s only a twist to the player, not to the characters. Since it’s kinda flimsy to begin with, I can see how the writers could’ve just completely fucking forgotten to fix the Ryuki side to make sense with this twist. They kinda forgot about Ryuki a lot in the second half of the game after all and a lot of the writing around him is messy as hell so I can believe it

But, let’s pretend this all WAS intentional, that Ryuki DID include information about the future in his story to Mizuki. This would go perfectly with the idea that Ryuki is a frayer and that he’s being haunted by knowledge from the past and future and is incapable of distinguishing the two. It’s already true that Ryuki has trouble telling what year it is (during the practice launch on the Mizuki side we see Ryuki in a trance waiting for Shoma to get off the ferris wheel even though that’s an event that happened 6 years ago, Ryuki makes constant references to Date being disappointed in him,etc) so it’d make sense if he got his wires majorly crossed when telling Mizuki what he remembers about the case from 6 years ago. If this is the case, then Ryuki’s powers can extend across not just past and future, but also multiple timelines

It’s not like Ryuki is the only one with this power. Date remembers when he was hospitalized in the Mizuki route during the true ending and gets confused about why he’s remembering things that never happened. Mizuki is able to remember Jin being referred to as the almighty despite her not hearing about it in that timeline. But it is interesting that Ryuki is the only one who seems to be plagued by his knowledge. The other two protagonists will be just kinda weirded out by their ability to know things that didn’t happen, but they recover pretty quickly. Ryuki though, he doesn’t know what timeline he’s in and he’s constantly speaking and thinking in riddles and drowning himself in liquor to forget everything and is only able to function in the A side BECAUSE the somnium failed and he wasn’t able to remember tearer’s true identity

Basically Ryuki cursed with evil timeline powers and it makes me wonder if he’s an unreliable narrator on purpose or on accident and honestly, I don’t know if I wanna know

Had an epiphany last night and I haven’t seen anyone talk about this (maybe because it could be just so obvious no one felt the need to but shhh) but look here at the veeeery beginning of the aini flowchart

We got the Ryuki somnium as the first split and as we know, this split happens based on whether or not you (or ryuki in this case) know the name of Tearer. You can only get the Mizuki side of the story if you have played the Ryuki side and have heard Tearer’s name. The somnium will also be much more complex and dangerous

So essentially on the B side, the psync is unsuccessful. Mizuki doesn’t really help Ryuki, and she barely learns anything about the hb case. Ryuki is left in the same mentally unstable state he was before, and he can’t hold a conversation without babbling and laughing maniacally. This leaves Mizuki to do her investigation without any of the past help at all, which is how the true route of the story is supposed to go

This isn’t anything new, we know this. What I do wanna revisit is the A side, where Ryuki doesn’t remember Tearer. The psync is actually successful and the results are significantly different than the B side. Ryuki sobers up and is able to tell Mizuki everything that happened to him 6 years ago. So basically the Ryuki route (the parts from 6 years ago) is everything that he’s telling to Mizuki

This means that there’s a whole separate version of the story in this timeline where Mizuki learns everything about the past, including what happened to Date. And what’s getting me feral about this is. How did the investigation proceed afterwards??? Did the two of them work together to finish the case? Did Mizuki get a chance to mourn Date? Did she lash out at Ryuki? Did Ryuki even mention his involvement with Tearer or Bibi’s existence at all? How would everything had changed if they worked together?

Hmmm as for preferences I won’t touch the subject of appearance for the sake of reader insert neutrality! But here are some of my ideas on personality:

Duncan

Either the polar (ha!) opposite of himself or someone similar in temperament. He NEEDS to be put in his place from time to time and he likes a woman who can test him and push him.

But he also needs someone who can understand him and the things he has been through, without the cloud of judgement over his past mistakes or actions. He needs (like all three men, honestly) some softness in his life. Someone who can remind him of why it’s worth living it, despite all terrible things that have happened or may happen. He needs constancy too, bc no one in the past has stayed for him (ooooof its true even if it hurts). He’s very much into physical touch, so someone affectionate for sure. Maybe borderline clingy, even. He’s been so starved for it for so long it’s what he yearns for.

Will

First and foremost, someone PATIENT. Will has his quirks and things he’s very particular about, so he needs someone who’s understanding of that. When he becomes withdrawn or is in a bad mood, patience is important for knowing when he needs space and time. Also, because he is a fisher and he will 100% bring you along with him, so it’s pivotal.

Ideally, someone who has similar dry humor as him. Able to keep him in check and ground him when he feels himself becoming unmoored. Someone he can be comfortable enough with to just be in companionable silence. He is also, unsurprisingly, very much touch starved, so affection is more than welcome. Someone tender hearted is his weakness.

Hannibal

Some of Hannibal’s favorite qualities are a quick wit and a certain level of cunning. He values intelligence, both street smarts and book smarts. Above all though, he cares most about loyalty, open mindedness, and clear communication (it may seem terribly ironic, but if he lets you get close to him, it’s a requirement).

He needs someone who sees him for who he truly is, and love him regardless. Trust is literally of utmost importance!! But while he loves doting on his partner, he definitely likes to be a lil spoiled in return. Contrary to Duncan, I believe he wouldn’t be very into someone super clingy, but he still likes to get loved on for sure!

Hey, much appreciated! Honestly, with the first post I expected it to be a weird niche AU no one besides me would enjoy. I'm really glad you and others are enjoying it and I'm enjoying you guys' questions!

I do think Lucifer would want to try forming a relationship with his long lost son (that feels so weird to type, imagine how weird it would be for Lucifer to say the phrase aloud, lol). From what we've seen of him, he seems like a loving and sweet man who adores his family, even if he's not always the best at expressing that love. I think if he found out he had a kid out there, no matter who that kid was, he'd want to form some kind of relationship with them. Of course, Alastor being Alastor complicates things quite a bit.

They didn't exactly make a great first impression on one another, on top of which Lucifer harbors a lot of guilt for leaving Nicaise to raise a child alone, and Alastor to grow up without a father. Especially when he learns what happened to Nicaise later. Lucifer thinks it's his fault Alastor is the way he is, which... kinda sorta fair? Alastor definitely had an unstable childhood which certainly played a part in Alastor growing to become an unstable adult. That being said, ultimately there were a lot of outside factors contributing to that instability, and at the end of the day, Alastor's choices were his own.

I go with the 'Dexter-like moral code' interpretation of Alastor's murder targets. But I also think there was a fair amount of disproportionate retribution. A man who beats his wife definitely deserves to get beat back and then divorced, but not butchered like an animal. Granted, the culture being what it was at the time, it's doubtful Alastor's targets would have faced any other kind of retribution than what he gave them.

All this to say that Alastor feels perfectly justified in the horrible things he's done, and Lucifer blames himself for Alastor becoming this warped, vengeful person.

Lucifer's attempts to get close to Alastor are horribly, painfully awkward. Remember how he answered Charlie's phone call with, "Heeeeeeeey, bitch!"

Yeah.

He tries, he really does, but a lot of the times Alastor just shuts him down before he can even open his mouth. So he tries going to Charlie for help.

"Ooooof, see, here's the thing, dad... I want to help, I really do! But I'm trying to do this thing where I'm more respectful of other people's boundaries. I mean, I'd love to see you and Alastor getting along! But if he doesn't want to talk with you, I'm not going to force it? As long as you guys aren't fighting? I'm sorry."

And that's as far as Lucifer gets with Charlie. So he tries talking to Niffty and Husk, the two people in the hotel who know Alastor best. Niffty is... sweet, but not entirely helpful. Husk gives what advice he can, but he's got his own chip on his shoulder regarding Alastor, understandably.

"Look, Alastor's a mean son of a bitch who lives to make my life more of a hell than it already is. He's fucked in the head. Always has been. You might as well cut your losses."

That's disheartening to say the least.

I do want there to be a happy-ish end where reconciliation happens. But it would take a loooooooot of time and patience on Lucifer's part. Especially with Alastor making an active effort not to get close with anyone at the hotel.

ooooof ok i’m gonna answer this with no source just what i can recall that has been said in the past so if i’m wrong i apologize 😬😬

i pretty sure there’s a weird grey area going on where it’s been kinda confirmed that they’re wanting arcane to be considered canon league lore but it’s difficult because what happens in the show doesn’t align with what was already part of the lore they have now. i don’t know how they’re planning on “fixing” that but i think i’ve heard chatter that there’s some possibility of doing like an alternate universe thing or simply just replacing the lore they have with what is true from arcane (again, i am writing this with very little certainty lmao so do not take my word for it)

i also don’t see vi becoming an enforcer by the end of the show which makes everything more confusing because that’s basically what her character is supposed do??? so idk if the ending might be more open ended but alluding that she will become one in the future… but if she doesn’t become one then idk how that will change the game lore… all i gotta say is i do not play league and have no interest in changing that so all i’m hoping for is a good ending for vi whether it’s LOL canon or not 😭

Finished the last 6 episodes of live action link click in one go and ooooof... what a ride 😭😭😭 that last episode was the most stressed I've been in a while... spoilers under cut

I mean, we called the Vespa thing already in that dive, and when Lu Guang got that email from Qiao Ling... yeah well, it all clicked 🥲

(Plus, you could already see it when Vespa followed her)

And then... oh god, when they had to decide what to do and Cheng Xiaoshi decided to go for the big picture, even though Qiao Ling was at risk 😭 but man. "I'll save the world, you'll save my sister."

AND THEN THE ASSHOLE WASN'T THERE!! I swear, I already saw him pushing her down in that moment, with Cheng Xiaoshi still in the past and Lu Guang too far away to do anything...

God, I swear, the STRESS I felt when Cheng Xiaoshi sat in that car?? I thought "oh god will he die now?!" OTL

In hindsight, that wouldn't have made sense, but dear God was I worried.

And then they found Qiao Ling and Vespa and there was still half an hour of episode left, and I KNEW that Lu Guang would have his signature white hair in the end, so my mind went into full on drama mode, wondering what would happen, would it actually turn white from him changing the past? Would he go back to save Qiao Ling? Or would something happen to Cheng Xiaoshi??

In my head there were 4 scenarios...

1) Qiao Ling being pushed

2) Cheng Xiaoshi switching the hostage place with her (and then being pushed)

3) Cheng Xiaoshi being pushed when Vespa grabbed him to beg for help

4) Vespa jumping in the end, and Cheng Xiaoshi trying to save him and then falling with him

In the end, none of that happened. But dear God, I was YELLING at the boys to grab Qiao Ling and get her away when Vespa came to Cheng Xiaoshi and then Lu Guang. Like. HE'S OUT OF THE WAY, GO AND SAVE HER?? OTL

And then there was still so much time left when it was finally over, and they were standing at the street, and I thought WILL HE ACTUALLY BE RUN OVER NOW OR WHAT?! Because he was the only one standing this close to the street and that one truck rushed by REALLY quickly. 🫠

I was STRESSED, okay??

But no. Nothing happened.

i dont think he's very outwardly protective but ooooof if he gets jealous i have to say its hot!!! one of those things where he'll just come up behind me and put his arm around me, not saying anything but making it very clear where he stands lol. but other than that, we act pretty much the same around each other as we do with anyone else. we both have a lot of love and respect for the other, even beyond the romantic relationship and it feels like we've known each other our whole lives so changing in the relationship was never something that happened.

I think part of it is that a portion of the fandom has bought into the false dichotomy that the show tries to press on us of jocks vs nerds and that they are enemies or something and that nerds are always or almost always on the side of the good, and jocks are not. So because Eddie is a nerd and made fun of jocks, he is therefore someone that is often right, even if her messes up sometimes but it's okay because he's a nerd, whereas (usually) Steve has to play perpetual make up for the crime of messing up and being a dick when he was sixteen while also playing and enjoying sports. and it's like please!!! I'm tired of this!!! stop hating on sports and thinking people who like them have some moral failing they must make up for just because you don't know what a batting average is or whatever! (and he should have apologized to Lucas)

What’s your favourite sims death? I’ve always thought death by flies is fun, although I don’t think I’ve ever had it happen in normal gameplay!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis match, I guess. Although I guess I do use “alpha” hairs, alpha doesn’t really mean anything with TS2...

Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I don’t think my Sims really do gain weight all that often, it’s hard to over-feed them in vanilla gameplay! Unless they’re doing a lot of gardening and eating the sparkly foods. I usually welcome weight gain since it’s rare to have “fat” sims :D

Do you use move objects? Yes, decorating without it is a pain in the ass lol!

Favorite mod? At the moment I’d have to say Story Progression for how much it changes the game! But my real favourite is probably the Sim Blender. So simple but useful :D

Needed some project materials, so, went to the antique store -

(Starting to feel like some kind of vampire that won’t let go of their increasingly aging shit when things like “I need sewing machine needles let’s go to the antique store” happen, lol)

Got away with one yarn shuttle, three yarn spools (left behind the shuttle that fits them though, whoops), a new pinwheel, a fancy thimble, the needles, and rescued the remaining bobbin lace pattern although I still have to insist that I am absolutely NOT going to take up bobbin lace. Or tatting. Never.

Unfortunately I still have a homemade peg loom, so the shuttle only helps insomuch as it keeps the yarn from getting everywhere while I work. I may try to rig something to do the lifty thing because ooooof this is tedious as hell.

My dog Oliver LOVES your song "Is It Over Now" he loves the beats and perks his head side to side. I have to get it on a video lol. He also loves "Exile" and curls up next to me and lays his head on my laptop while it plays. He's a fan :)

Thank you for putting my 34 years of girlhood into words my whole life. I cannot believe I get to live in a time where you exist. Your songs are poetry, therapy, joy, and so much more. Music has always been my "thing" and your music has always been my favorite. It could also be because my horoscopes cancer, you know we love to be in our feelings LOL.

I remember during my hardest times you were releasing music when I happen to have been losing a family member (Reputation, Red TV, Folklore, Evermore). So many nights I put my airpods on and cried to sleep listening to your music. It sounds sad, but I promise you, without your music, I don't know where I'd be. Your music drowned my thoughts and allowed me to be in another world- even if it was just a short time.

Okay, back to streaming. I'm aiming to get into the top 0.1% on your Spotify because frankly I'm insulted I didn't make it and couldn't go to the ERA's movie premier hahahaha. BTW saw it on IMAX 3 times and danced the night away each time. My heart left full the last night in particular when a young group of girls ran to the front to sing and dance to "The Man." Imagine, I was a kid when I started listneing you. Now, I was looking at future Swifties and just knowing what a beautiful life they have ahead of them.
