i’m thinking of a specific version of sugar baby/house husband satoru who’s the type to sit on a floatie in the pool and stroke his dick, not caring if the stuck-up neighbors hear him. he walks around in his boxers and slippers—maybe a flimsy button-up that’s not closed or covering anything at all. he goes out and checks the mail or walks the dog with a soda in his hand and waves at people with a weird smile on his face as if they don’t know what it sounds like when he gets himself off (or when he gets you off)

he flirts with meemaws at the grocery store at 10am (if he gets up that early) because they all think he’s big and strong and handsome when he gets heavy or high items down from the shelf for them. he sits in his underwear at the computer and plays video games with foreign teenagers online.

he goes out shopping and tries on like 80 different outfits (including strange hats/skirts/dresses/etc.) and takes a bajillion photos, some of which he sends to you. catfishes creepy guys online and argues with people on reddit for fun.

he decides to paint the mailbox weird colors or work on a scrapbook he plans to give you one day. doordashes ice cream and laundry detergent because he forgot to get some at the store (and he was craving sweets). he lets the neighbor girls play with his hair and put makeup on him before someone sees and says “don’t play with that man, he’s weird,” but he would never do anything to them. burns a batch of cookies because his foreign online gaming bff braxton from california said he needed him for a last-minute raid.

he puts on a random dress from the closet and dances weirdly around the house to loud music while he cleans up the mess he mostly made. stands in the middle of the living room and rubs one out to a photo of you because he just had the sudden urge (and now he has another mess to clean up). has to set a timer to make sure to start thawing the chicken early for dinner because he started a new drama show and keeps forgetting, and you’re starving when you come home.

does any of that on a given day but when you ask him what he does while you’re at work he just says:

Wizards and paladins are my favorite classes because of the built in story elements that clearly shape the characters, but also because, on some level, if a character isn't, to quote Jonas Spahr, "arrogant, prideful, and sanctimonious" what is even the point.

i'm a big fan of choice-heavy gaming and an aspect of dating sims that has always fascinated me is how your dialogue options greatly inform what sort of character you're playing, and to an extent, shape how you end up viewing the love interests. you make a choice and you see different sides of both the personality you inhabit and the capture targets' personalities. the choice you make (usually nonliterally) affects the reality you inhabit. slay the princess just takes this aspect of choice-based gaming and pushes it to its absolute logical extreme

oooohkay I've finished the fallout tv show and needed to gush, so please excuse me if I'm shaky at this tumblr thing.

so one thing i am obsessing over and NEED to talk about is how, at times, we can see little bits of Cooper Howard peeking through the dark and dreary cloud cover that is the Ghoul. though these bits and pieces are also part of a persona that he played; the cowboy, the character that Cooper, if we recall, objected to acting out as a ruthless person.

it's in part genuine parts of him shining through, but at the same time not. it's a shattered piece of an illusion that broke apart two hundred years ago and stayed broken. a frustration that stuck with him and helped shape his persona as the Ghoul.

he took that tarnished character, his anger, and his horror and he hammered it all together at an anvil and the Ghoul was born. he's just so???? I want to pick him apart with a spork. let me AT HIM.

Gah, thank youuu 💥💥💥 (this is all a little bit jarring lol, not in a bad way of course, just kinda crazy people like my silly little blog) Have a rando snippet of a fic I'm working on as a bonus (can you guess what crossover it is :P?):

“Let's just go to the house. May have something more useful than that.” He clears his throat, groaning. It doesn't alleviate the soreness. Then promptly remembers he's recording, because that was needlessly loud,

He trails off, mouse flicking towards spruce planks on the ground. Another sign that says condemned in all caps. Cool,

“Okay, another useless sign--! Why is this even here? And there's fences around this place but they don't even connect to a gate. Like,”

Andrew runs up to the small area illuminated by torches, and mines a fence repeatedly, “what's the point of this if it's open over there? At least there’s torches to prevent mob spawning-- but still!”

He doesn’t consider himself a good Minecraft player, but at least he finished his little cobblestone wall perimeter around his house,

“It's like that one Adventure Time episode where the Ice King is-is trapped in that cell but it only has two bars! What are these fences going to keep out? Like oooh! Look at me, I'm waltzing right in this half-assed property line!”

He then stops his stride, mouth clipping closed because what's his problem?

there’s one of my mutuals who like…recently got into drawing and I’m really proud of them and mentally I’m over here like “yes!! Yes!! This what I like to see!! Keep at it! Keep drawing!!! You’ve got this!!”

I know that perfectionism is an absolute bitch, but yk what? Creating things, no matter how “imperfect” or “flawed” is the most important thing ever. Cringe is dead, it’s okay to make mistakes, do what you want forever (but don’t be an asshole!), being inclusive and diverse is so fun, do your research, and just have fun.

I got a bit passionate (and off topic lol) but I suppose what I wanna say is: Make the thing, mate.
