Dark Themes

This is Angel Dust - dark topics and are going to be a common occurance. Please be mindful of your own wellbeing and/or triggers. Sexual violence, physical violence, abuse, trauma, sex work, substance abuse and addiction are all big parts of Angel's story, and while I will do my best to tag things accordingly, if this is likely to trigger you, I would advise not to follow.

Mun =/= Muse

Angel can be a prize dickhead at times. He might not be kind to your muse, even if your muse is kind to him. He has a short temper and zero impulse control, and is prone to flying off the handle. I will most likely ask if I feel like anything I write would cross a line, but I don't see this as ever being more than Angel throwing around hurtful words.

Triggers

I tag obvious triggers such as abuse and violence, but if you need anything more specific tagged, just let me know! I may fuck up from time to time and forget to tag something, in which case just shoot me a message and I'll fix it.

NSFW

NSFW content is fine and to be expected with this muse! However, I won't write smut unless we've been writing together for a while. All NSFW content will be tagged, and anything explicit will be under a cut.

Shipping

Head over heels for Huskerdust, not massively interested in shipping Angel with other characters from the show. However, I ship based on chemistry, so if our muses develop a connection, I'm open to exploring this. I prefer this to be discussed ooc if it starts heading that direction. Open to OC ships, but again, chemistry is key. And, obviously, Angel is gay - I'll be writing him as such. If your muse is female/fem-leaning, sorry, but he ain't into it!

(I also feel the need to stress that while I enjoy exploring the dynamic between Angel and Valentino, please do not misinterpret this as shipping. To be clear, writing interactions between characters who have a toxic and abusive relationship while also acknowledging love, sex and trauma bonding as a realistic part of that relationship does not constitute shipping, to my own definition. I am more than happy to explore the dark themes within their dynamic as long as we are on the same page about this.)

Requires Discussion

I am pretty lax, and will rp a lot without requiring prior discussion. If your muse is becoming violent towards mine, you don't need to worry about asking permission, especially when it is context relevant (eg. a thread between Angel and Valentino). I only ask that the following are discussed beforehand: any form of sexual assault (I will not write anything graphic), discussion of csa, a character causing massive injury to another or a character killing another.

Literacy

I don't expect anyone to match my length with replies - this is largely because I have a tendency to go overboard and write more than my partner! I prefer to write multi para because of this, but I'm open to all lengths.

Although I don't expect partners to match my length, I do like them to match my effort. As much as this is a fun and silly hobby, it's time-consuming and laborious, and I very much pour my heart into my writing. I want to write with people who value my contributions as much as I value theirs!

Personally, I am not massively bothered about literacy skill. However, if your language or grammar make it so I struggle to understand your response, I will not be able to write with you.

Activity Status

Currently very active! With my current number of threads, my average reply time is around 3-4 days. But if for some reason I haven't replied, don't panic! I'm a naturally slow writer and a perfectionist, it can take me a while to finish a response, especially if our thread responses are long. And, obviously, I do have a life outside of tumblr. RULES & REGULATIONS.

i. speed / before you follow.

I am sloth slow. I am a full-time carer for my partner and I will always prioritise irl over roleplay. Sometimes I don’t have the energy to be conversational while I am dash active - these two things require different flavours of energy. Do not get passive-aggressive with me over this, as I will end whatever it is we have going on in a heartbeat. This is a hobby, not a job. Sometimes I burn out, and I want to write, not chat. I am happy to chat when I can, but do NOT rush me. I am willing to adjust to my partner, but not at the expense of their characterisation. This blog is 21+. I HAVE ADHD, DEPRESSION & ANXIETY, this can sometimes factor into my activity at times, also. This blog is canon compliant. I am in the process of learning about the Dragon Age universe. I will slip up in regards to Dragon Age, pls be patient.

ii. on villains.

  I will never hold the actions of a character against the writer of that character. I will also never villainise anyone who writes a villain, either. This applies to ALL villain writers that may or may not pop up. If you are someone who struggles to separate mun from muse, then this blog is absolutely not for you. I am tired of 200 note threads of fluff, smiles and smut, and want to delve into the dark, the nitty-gritty and the unpleasant. This is a judgement free zone.

iii. speaking with the writer.

I do not tolerate passive-aggressiveness. This really shouldn’t need to be a rule, but it happens often enough that it has to be. I don’t like guilt tripping, either, and will be taking full advantage of the block feature should it happen. If you have an issue with me, take it up with me on your own. I am a reasonable person, but I am not a mind reader and I am more than happy to sit and hash out whatever might be bothering you so we can reach a – hopefully – peaceful resolution and move on from it. If not? It can run its course in an amicable fashion. I am understanding and there will be no hard feelings. I also do not appreciate being ganged up on, as has happened in the past. DO NOT PATRONISE ME. It makes me uncomfortable and I will not continue our threads. PLEASE DO NOT INITIATE PLOTTING WITH SMUT RIGHT OFF THE BAT. 

iv. shipping.

On the topic of shipping, I am multiship. I practise ship exclusivity, and will only be writing romantic interactions with one of a single canon/companion character. I prefer this to go both ways. If not possible I am willing to explore platonic interactions, too. The IC chemistry needs to be there, and I will not just ship for the hell of it. I am incredibly picky as I do not write to just ship. There also needs to be some semblance of OOC comfort when talking with the writer, too. I do write smut, but it takes a while for me to get comfortable enough to write it.

For player characters: I do not mention their default romances, lest it become off-putting to anyone I try to write with. I do not go into interactions expecting to ship right off the bat. In character and out of character chemistry will prevail over anything else.

v. triggers and tagging.

When it comes to tagging triggers, I tend to use fairly simple tags so the blacklist can snatch it really, really quickly. Example: Blood. If you need something specific tagged, please don’t hesitate to come to me to ask. I will throw a tag on it as soon as I am able to. I ask for neon colours to be tagged as eye strain. Please do not use double spacing in threads with me. I have ADHD and it hinders me being able to read large paragraphs of text, and I end up just rereading the same sentence over and over and over again.

In regards to smut, I do not use read mores. I do, however, tag it so blacklists can catch it. :)

vi. callouts / vaguing.

I do not like callouts. I have callout specifically blacklisted. I don't read them, I don't reblog them. These make me increasing anxious, as does being approached about them in any way, shape or form. So don't.

━◈ UPDATE on … the end of chapter i! with this post, we’ve officially concluded our event. we ask that everyone refrain from starting new chapter i threads, but members are allowed to continue existing threads. please see under the cut for additional ic and ooc details.

there were once tales, as ancient and forgotten as when verum once stood alone in the valley. new year’s eve was not a celebration, but a warning. candles were blown out as the swollen moon arched heavy over the sky. windows were shuttered against the whispering winds.

demons were able to appear in their true forms en masse due to the veil between worlds being thin on new year’s eve. they will not be able to do so again to wreak havoc amongst the townspeople, but keep in mind that this isn’t something known. as far as people are concerned it can happen again.

tension and paranoia are running high as word begins to spread that demons can in fact appear as humans. neighbor begins to eye neighbor in suspicion.

deputy headmaster benjamin langmuir and mayor sidhant sharda meet in private to discuss what moves are to be made to protect and settle people. they have a disagreement on how best to handle the situation.

OOC DETAILS

the in-game date is now january to february of 933. the new verum school year semester begins in mid february. students are welcome on school property and may take winter break lessons before the term begins if necessary.

as many demons take on humanoid forms to mask their true forms, folks may begin to see faces that they have not previously seen prior to the mudslide. these may or may not be demons living amongst the people of cynefin and verum academy.

we’ll allow everyone to settle into the new reality with the demons and the mudslide before we introduce a new plot drop.

as a reminder, the mudslide happened in early to mid december. no one has been able to come in or out of verum since then—except for the demons.

the  welcome  party  in  canon  takes  place  from  the  hours  of  7  pm  -  11  pm  (  since  most  people  start  to  go  to  the  actual  bars  afterwards  ).

The show must go on, or does it? As the Ren Faire was coming to a close, the Lunar Covians took to the Pendulum Playhouse for the closing ceremony and for a performance of A Midsummer's Night Dream. The play, put on by Rohan Persaud and Bri Rivas, started off wonderfully, with intentional twists woven into the story to keep those who are familiar with the original production on their toes. Briar Reed tugged at the audience's heart strings with her portrayal of Hermia, while newcomers Rangi Hira (as Helena), Jonah Rivas (as Lysander), Julian Chandler (as Demetrius) and Linden Reed (as Puck) were pleasant surprises. The lovers, like in the original, all switch partners throughout the first act. Only rather than Titania (played by Dilan Selvi) falling in love with Bottom (played by Mateo Rivera), this production flipped the original narrative on its head, having Oberon (played by Rohan Persaud) fall in love with the man instead. But, the second act was another story...

As intermission came to an end, chaos rang through the crowd just as they were returning to their seats. First, a row of people were nearly plowed over. Soda, popcorn and M&Ms flew into the air as a blur in the form of one vampire, Theodore Moore ( @theodorexmoore ) tore past them, knocking down everything in his way. The Clan Advisor, Kadir Aksoy ( @moonsongchorus ) tried to follow after him, speeding into the playhouse as he shouted out to warn the Lunar Covians that Theo had stolen the Supreme's grimoire. But, before he could fully explain what was going on, his eyelids fell closed and his body hit the floor. Theodore Moore escaped through the back of the Playhouse with the grimoire in hand as, one by one, everyone in the audience and the stage, besides the fae, began to drop as well, until even the performers were passed out. It turns out that Billie Fitz, Anna Donnelly and Rangi Hira weren't the ones responsible for the Break-Ins after all. It had been Kyle all along with Theo stepping in to finish the job. But, the true culprits of the Break-Ins hardly matter now. Not when the entire town, outside of the fae, have entered a deep slumber where they will be forced to live out their worst nightmares...

Hey, my name is Starry! Thanks for checking out my rules. I only RP with mutuals, but will check out your blog when you follow. This is to keep my dash organized and know who is interested in actually writing with me. I encourage plotting, so please let me know if you would like to share ideas! Minors please do not interact.

I prefer to write multi-paragraph, but I’ll sometimes have a few smaller threads. You don’t have to match my length — just give me enough to work with. This blog uses the beta editor and trim reblogs extension.

I am happy to place my muse in different settings. There may be some that require plotting, but if we can make it work, then that’s fine. I feel anything can be worked out with proper discussion beforehand to make the verses match.

Any fight scenes that happen should be somewhat plotted out so that we have a general idea of what direction to take it in. This also stops accidental godmodding and forcing the other muse into a situation where they become ooc.

Rang is open to shipping but chemistry and build-up is required as he doesn’t trust easily and has abandonment issues. He is demisexual (and quite tsundere) and, considering he’s a nine-tailed fox in human form, is also open to ships with magical creatures (as long as it’s in human form.) Rang is a mischievous character and likes to mess with people and this can come across as flirtatious — this doesn’t automatically mean that he’s interested. He also doesn't do hook-ups, so please keep that in mind. Also please do not use his status as a nine-tailed fox who grants wishes in order to ship with him e.g: "my wish is for you to kiss me, sleep with me, etc." - consent still matters and forcing him to do that through wishes is NOT consensual.

Any NSFW that happens will be appropriately tagged and under a cut. Anything like that will only be written with muses and muns who are over the age of twenty-one (unless the ship takes place in Rang's past verse where he is also around the same age e.g both muses are late teens.)

Lacey sat in Rhaena’s chambers surrounded by familiar faces and some newer ones. She was just bursting with excitement and joy to be here. Things had been so chaotic and hectic during the wedding celebrations, so it was nice to take a moment with all of the ladies. She was especially glad to see Lady Cerelle was present. Lacey still hoped her brother would stay on the more polished track he’d been pursuing lately. She wanted her future sister to have a happy and fulfilling marriage and she hoped they would be good friends as well.

Lacey was also happy to see Rhaena, of course. There never seemed to be enough hours in the day for them to spend quality time together. She knew Rhaena was always busy developing new beauty products, like the one they were using now. It was a beautiful and ingenious invention to dye the nails different colors. While that was impressive in and of itself, the real showstopper was the shimmery iridescent flakes in some of the colors. Lacey had never quite seen anything like it, reminiscent of firelight playing off a jewel. It made her heart swell with pride for her friend.

She was so happy for Rhaena, it was time she had something special and just for herself. She knew the lady loved to share but Lacey was glad to see the love between the pair.

The six of them were gathering together, all in various forms of dress and readiness.

Rhaena raised her glass and said “To us! And to our very own little Court of Love and Beauty!!”

Lacey picked up her own glass and held it aloft, giggling along with the rest of the ladies. “To us! And to our gracious host, Westeros’ best beautician!”

Rhaena continued talking, making jokes but demanding answers. Quick and to the point she inquired about various aspects of their lives. Pinpointing each person with something vital and recent in their day to day. Rhaena was thoughtful and present. No matter how busy she was, she always had time for her friends.

After her rapid fire questioning she went into the business at hand, hair or nails? It was a comfortable atmosphere. So when Rhaena asked her to continue their conversation from the previous night, she did.

“You asked about our wedding planning. And well to be honest, I could use some help. Robin mentioned wanting to make our day grand and special.”

Lacey brushed her hair as she spoke, keeping her anxious fingers busy and away from her nails.

“I do want a special day, but I suppose I was thinking more of our vows. I just always see the wedding as an event to get through, one last barrier before we’re together.”

She sighed softly, thinking it over. She wasn’t the best at aesthetics, what if Robin really did want something as grand as Princess Baela’s?

“I told Robin we could be wed anywhere, I just want to be wed.”

Looking around the room she laughed at some of the expressions on the other ladies' faces. “Alright, alright. That was a bit dramatic! The only thing I’m confident in are the flowers, beyond that I’m hopeless!”

Lacey didn’t want to linger on her own problems so she tried to swing the conversation elsewhere.

“Enough of my nonsense, I’m sure Robin will love whatever I come up with. Lady Gysella, what about you? Any romance filling up your time?”

Lacey wagged her eyebrows, trying to keep the mood light and get the attention off of herself at the same time.

There is a certain comfort between a group of young women, unafraid to speak freely, taking comfort in one another’s presence, and shameless in a vanity that was expected to be a ever present and perfectly hidden. An intimacy only allowed around one another, in mind, body, and spirit, muscles unbound from the tension of propriety, and lips loosened to speak thoughts long restrained. A particular kind of divinity held within walls free from judgement, indiscretion, fear, and expectation, where a maiden’s fullest, truest version of herself could peek out from its hiding place nestled in the ribs behind her heart like the first flash of sunrise, and remind them that if there really is a touch of The Gods in each of us, they are far from the exception; those who seek to pry holiness from them only do so because they are the rule.

Rhaena was not a firm believer in any Faith, and unsure if she thought reverence served any point at all, but she had long since known that if deities existed their presence was most tangible in the the brightest pigments and dyes turned gowns the color of butterfly wings, the winks of glitter in crushed pearl powder, and the way her friends’ faces lit up when they were told they looked beautiful. She had long understood that amongst her family of politicians, schemers, power players, and leaders, she was not “special” in so far as excelling at any of the pursuits they considered most important, and yet she provided something none of the rest quite could; a pillar to hold the house of cards steady, a mender to sew back the pieces split apart by obligation and duty, and above all, a soft place to land.

“To us!” Rhaena raised a glass of rosé to the girls gathered in her chambers after she was sure the dye on her nails had hardened to a reasonable degree. “And to our very own little Court of Love and Beauty!!” She giggled at this, then tossed back a gulp of her wine, taking the moment to marvel at how there was nowhere else in the world she’d rather be right now. With her dearest, longest friend Lacey, and her quickest, perhaps now closest, Cerelle, her barely younger sister, Tyshara, seemingly happier and more at ease to be by her side than she had in months, Gysella, far and away the girl she was happiest to call her good-sister, and one of her favorite new fixtures at court, Myrielle, whom she had invited in specific hopes today would be the reason she could truly call the Lady-Regent of The Reach’s younger sister her friend.

“Now, my darlings, my lovies, considering my love is reserved for later in the day, and I have provided some rather spectacular returns on the element of beauty,” she laughed softly at this, gesturing vaguely at all the girls gathered in various states of half dress, hair setting in pin curls and other pre-styles to last throughout the night, nails, brows, and every other conceivable cosmetic detail in process, and every one of them given the run of her gray-market beauty stocks for the day, “I think it is officially in order to hear the updates on all of yours!”

Rhaena turned towards Lacey and Cerelle with a mischievous glow to her smile now, “And don’t think you two get a pass just because you’re both betrothed now and already help with all these potions. I want to hear wedding planning details, I want to hear how that little brother of yours is doing with that lovely little Templeton lady—we really should invite her next time someone please remind me to make a note of that—I need to know if we have a set date yet. Of course speaking of younger siblings I’m simply dying to hear how your latest visit to Fair Isle, Tyshara darling, and perhaps Lady Myrielle has something juicy up her sleeve with all those siblings of hers; although I really must admit what I truly wish to hear about is any intel on Lady Hightower’s own rumored wedding gown!”

“Now,” Rhaena snapped her fingers, signaling to all present they had things to do and she intended to make it all happen, “Gysella sweetling have you decided which color you want to use on your nails yet or shall I leave you to agonize while we see about getting Cerelle’s curls in order first?” There was a brief silence after Gysella was finally spurred to choose between her admittedly dizzying collection of nail dye shades, then Rhaena’s eyes flitted back towards Lacey. “How about we start with you and dear Robin, we could’ve talked half the night away from the sounds of just what we were able to get into yesterday! Would you be so kind as to humor me darling and pick up where we left off?”

a/n: i’ve got nothing to say. diluc is ooc but i wanted him to talk through his trauma and loosen up for a goddamn second yk

You were known to be a rather reckless individual. You didn’t think much of your actions, nor how they would affect you. Your entire life consisted of lessons on how to put others first, so it made sense that you would hide your pain, putting on a smile that only a princess could possess as you went about your day.

The bandage on your hand caused too much attention. People were worried- what happened to their princess?

“Your form is atrocious.”

You lifted your head away from the practice dummy, wiping the sweat off of your forehead and turning to the doorway. “Well I’m sorry, why don’t you show me how it’s done?”

Diluc huffed and moved behind you, gently adjusting your arms until the sword was pointed correctly.

“Now, do an overhand swing at that dummy.”

You subtly winced at the idea. The leather grip of the sword was practically searing into your hand, still sore from yesterday’s injury. Maybe taking the bandage off wasn’t a good idea.

Nonetheless, you swung. Your blade sliced the wooden arm, leaving a substantial mark and even more pain in your hand.

“Underhand.”

“Stab.”

“Backhand.”

“Stop!”

You dropped the sword, unconsciously clenching your hand as Diluc stepped towards you. With a firm grip, he grabbed at your hand and lifted it to his face, inspecting the reddened and irritated skin.

“What happened?”

“Just a burn when I was with Prince Albedo, no worries-“

“An experiment, I presume? He’s always getting people into problems with his little fixations. You shouldn’t be practicing if you’re injured, it won’t heal.”

You scoffed. “Didn’t know you were my mom.”

If Diluc heard you, he did a good job of ignoring it. Instead, he moved to the side of the training area where you had a cup of water. He handed it to you and sat down on the ground as you drank.

You took your time with your sips, choosing to subtly watch as Diluc tied his hair up into a high ponytail. His fingers threaded through his fluffy hair and you couldn’t help but wonder how it would feel beneath your own. You sat down next to him.

“You don’t seem like the type to be into marriages.” You began.

“I’m not.”

You quirked an eyebrow, silently waiting for him to continue.

“When my parents were alive, they’d always talked about me finding someone and having some fairy tale wedding. Something straight out of the books they’d read to my-“ He coughed “-brother and I. When your father wrote to our kingdom, asking if there were any eligible bachelors, I decided to come. Maybe my parents can see my fairy tale wedding from up in the sky.”

“Oh, Diluc-“

“I don’t want your pity.”

You furrowed your brows. “I wasn’t going to pity you. If you would have let me finished, I was going to say that I think it’s very nice that you want to honor their wishes. They must have meant a lot to you.”

Diluc shrugged, his gaze fixated somewhere far from where you were in the present. “It’s not something I share, but I figure that I need to be more open if I wish for you to pick me.”

You nodded. “Tell me about your brother.”

“He’s here.”

“What?”

“Prince Kaeya.” Saying his name seemed to send a shudder through the prince, “He’s my adoptive brother. After the death of our father, our relationship has been incredibly... strained. And yet, as much as I want to absolutely despise him, he’s still my brother.”

“So you love him?”

“As much as one could love an awful brother - wait, wait, why are you standing up?”

You giggled and began backing away as Diluc stood up with you. “I’ve got to find Prince Kaeya. I’m gonna tell him you love him and wanna be his friend again~”

“Y/N, that’s childish- GET BACK HERE!”

Cackling, you ran back inside the castle with Diluc hot on your heels. You didn’t even really remember what Kaeya looked like, it was just fun to make the stoic, calm, and collected prince chase you through the halls to stop you from calling his estranged brother’s name.

“Whoa, whoa, what’s all the noise for princess?”

“Kaeya, right?”

“Yes?”

“Diluc said- mmph!”

An arm wrapped around your waist while a hand covered your mouth, preventing you from talking to Kaeya any further. Diluc breathed heavily behind you and you tried not to flush as you felt his chest press against your back. Kaeya looked at Diluc questionably, but the red-head only glared at him and pulled you away.

“You’re ridiculous. That was incredibly childish of you- how old are you again? Seven? That sounds about right.”

You gave him an answer to your age, but your sounds were still muffled by his hand.

“What pleasure did it bring you, making me chase you around the castle? Is this what it would be like if I married you as well? I don’t think- Stop licking my hand!”

He pushed you away and you giggled once more, wiping your mouth as he did the same to his hand.

“It’s going to be exactly like this if we get married, Prince Diluc. You need to lighten up a little!” You stood up on your tip-toes and pressed a featherlight kiss to his cheek, winking at him and walking away.

Diluc watched you go, his face growing to match his hair color. And he couldn’t help but think that a future like that wouldn’t be half bad.
