Notes: Reader based off of oc (written with reader inserts), gn reader, they/them used, gnc Rover (uses any pronoun), Chixia being the worst wingwoman, extreme romantic pining, unresolved feelings, possible ooc Chixia (I'm going off of vibes from what I've played)

"Come on! It can't be that hard to just ask him on a date!" Chixia exclaimed, frustration evident on her features as she stared at the person across from her. "The worst he can say is no, [Y/n]!"

"And that's the problem! I can't handle a no!" They yelled back, keeping their hands gripping their hair. "I'm self aware enough to know that! It's better if I just get over-"

"Oh hey there he is." Rover casually announced, looking over in the direction of where the general was. [Y/n] was quick to slam their head into the table, cursing as the pain flooded their system.

"Now's your chance!"

"Chixia no-"

"Hey General!! Over here!! We have room if you need a table to sit at!" The redhead called out excitedly, gaining the attention of the man. He carefully walks over, studying [Y/n] who refused to put their head up in greeting.

"Sorry if I'm barging in."

"Not at all." Rover quickly replied, nudging his elbow into [Y/n]'s side. They hissed, glaring at them before sighing as they lifted their head to meet Jiyan's eyes.

"You're fine, General."

"You alright? Are you having one of those moments again?" He asked, sitting down across from them. His eyes studied their tense muscles, brows furrowed in concern. "If you want I can-"

"I'm fine!" [Y/n] interrupted, raising their voice a bit. They flinched once they felt eyes of the other patrons on them, gently resting their head on the table again. "You don't need to do that thing again."

"That thing again?" Both Chixia and Rover asked, their eyes moving back and forth between the two. [Y/n]'s cheeks burned at the memory, practically being cuddled by the general when they grew overwhelmed one evening. They didn't want to remember it, for it only made their heartbeat even more rapid around the man.

"Anyway!" They quickly said, moving the conversation along. "It's a rarity to see you in the city Jiyan! Means times are a bit more peaceful huh?"

"Yes, there's not as many Tacet Discords showing up lately. It's good for the soldiers morale too, since many weren't able to see their families during the threat of the Threnodian's rewakening." The conversation then drifted off, with [Y/n] barely interacting with Jiyan. Chixia and Rover both tried to make them join, but it was to no avail. After some time the general said his farewells and left the group.

"What was that?!" Chixia yelled. "You literally only talked to him like once!"

"Well sorry! Once the food got brought in I suddenly grew overwhelmed!"

"What she means," Rover began, placing her hand on the redhead's. "Is that we just want to help with you-"

"Look I just can't!" They screamed, slamming their hands on tbe table. They flinched once everyone around them grew quiet, sitting back down. "It's not that simple guys. I just...I'm not ready to hear a rejection okay?"

"And what makes you so sure it will be a rejection?" The dark haired person asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Because why wouldn't it be? Even if it's not because he doesn't see me in that way, which he totally doesn't by the way, it's because he's too busy with being a general. I know he would just see himself as a burden like I do with myself and think a rejection is better than a potentially dead partner!"

The two look at them in silence, digesting their words.

"You really thought about it that much?" Chixia asked softly, narrowing her eyes in concern. "I mean I'm sure-"

"I know you're trying to help, but please. Just let me...get over it. It's better than experiencing heartbreak. Besides I have my own as to why I can't be in a relationship." [Y/n] smiled sadly. "I have to find some way back home to my world after all."

Welcome to the official ask blog for my (@funkytrashsuperstructure) Disconnected AU!

I recommend that you read the accompanying fic first, as it provides some context for the story up to this point. This blog will be "serialized", meaning that the story will continue to play out as time goes on. Updates to the fic on AO3 will also continue, though for a time I will probably be doing some things with the focus, giving some unintroduced characters some time to shine.

The Current Story:

Looks to the Moon is living with a group of scavengers led by the chieftain Dark Spines Along Back. Artificer (known as Firemaker by the scavengers) is also there, having pushed their beef to the side after an altercation with Spines. The messengers that brought her back to life, Rivulet (aka Ruffles), Hunter (aka Spitfire), and Spearmaster have just left for Five Pebbles' can to get life-saving medicine for Spitfire and get Spearmaster's chest pearl removed.

Meanwhile, at the base of a spire in the nearby expanse, Gourmand's colony has to contend with Renegade*, a highly stubborn and dangerous god-machine of legend who harnesses electricity as a lethal weapon. She had gotten into a scrap with scouts of the colony which left a handful of slugcats and herself injured. Despite the altercation, Gourmand allows her to stay as long as she needs to in order to recover, pushing her gently to go to Looks to the Moon's domain. The two god-machines seem like they can help each other, after all...

WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE

Tis the season of giving and the Magnolia Inn will be opening its doors once again to host their annual White Elephant party. So, for everyone willing to brave the cold, get dressed up in your ugliest sweaters, bring a gift and see what sort of present you might be able to steal by the end of the night.

BACKGROUND

We will be holding a discord party for this event on Saturday the 28th starting at 6p EST. Participating is completely optional and there will be plenty of instructions day of walking you through how to play. But, for those who don't know what White Elephant is-

WHAT IS WHITE ELEPHANT?

This is a gift exchange party game that is typically played by having all of the guests show up with a wrapped gift within a specific price range (though let’s be honest- there is always that one person who brings an absurdly expensive gift for the fun of it). Everyone places their gifts in a pile and then pulls out a number from a hat to determine which order they’ll go in. Whoever drew number one will pull a gift out from the pile and unwrap it. Then number two can either steal number one’s gift or pull another gift from the pile etc. The game keeps going with people stealing each other’s gifts (though a gift can only be stolen 3 times and then it’s out from being stolen again) until it is number one’s turn again. Number one will get the last chance to steal a gift and then the game will be over.

HOW ARE WE PLAYING OOC?

Participating in the discord event is completely optional (though if you do participate, it will count as your activity for the week).

You don’t have to submit a gift on every character to be able to participate in the IC group chat. If you play multiple characters, you can submit a gift on one and have your other characters watch or sit the game out.

If you have multiple characters and would like more than one to participate, then please submit separate gifts for each of your characters. Once we’ve received all of the submissions, we will create a channel in the discord group chat where we will assign each character a number dictating the order in which they will go in the gift exchange and have an IC thread where charries can steal each other’s presents and battle it out. More information on this to come.

when did you join ? what made you join ? what do you remember from the plotlines that were current at the time ? where were you in life when you joined and where are you now ?

i joined back in 2018 , which is crazy to even think about because it's now six years later ! i remember having seen the group a few times in the tags but didn't apply until a few months later ... but when i DID pluck up the courage to join , it was just before the olimpiel wedding which was so fun to be a part of ! i think i was literally just starting a new job too around the time i joined , so it was changes all around , which was really refreshing !!

2. which characters have you written over the years ?

too many ... starting with prycilla , aurora , danilo , amon , kris , ale , renee , aalayna , omari , pretty sure i had a kelsey merrit at one point , eloa , the madelyn cline and drew starkey i had for seconds , i think there was a sofia carson in there somewhere too ...

3. what is your favourite plotline that you've been part of ?

being a part of the italy plotline was so fun ! i'm not good at politics by any means but being around people who had so many good ideas which would always boggle my brain bc i'm dumb as shit was so fun to be a part of ! but also , the egypt plotline will always have a place in my heart ...

4. what about other people's plotlines ?

so so SO many !! the english plotline , the french ..... i was always on the edge of my seat whenever they were written out on the dash waiting for the next person to reply so the tea could be dished out ! but honestly every single plotline was just so interesting and amazing to read that i was always in awe

5. who is your favourite character from the ones you've played ? why ? what made you love them ? what made them so fun to write ?

considering how many times i've brought him back after thinking his time was done , without a doubt my favourite would have to be ale ... i just feel like he became such a comfort character for me , especially since when i've been going through things he's always been the character i've reached out for to write ! but kris was also so much fun to write and then my fool of omari , he really was my comedic relief character !

6. if you could relive a plotline, which would it be ?

kris realising just how much of a prick his dad is and becoming firmly team silje <3 it was a defining moment for him , and now silje has a job and is in college !! she's doing so good !!!

7. is there a plotline that you'd edit now if you could ?

literally not a single one ! i loved all the twists and turns , seeing how things unfolded , it was fun to just be able to write them out and see where they led and go from there

8. what's a plotline you wish you would have been able to finish before closing or just write more of ?

definitely the egypt plotline ... it happened at a time where i really didn't have time to be fully involved in and i think it's just been so unresolved , if only life didn't happen 😔

9. what is your favourite ooc memory ?

the panic in the ooc chat when evy fucked up the counting bot when we were at like 300+ ..... AKJDNFKJDF there are so many moments that i'll cherish forever but this one is the first that came to mind !

thank u all so , so much for all the memories and making hshq such a special place <3 i joined at a time where joining groups had become such an anxiety inducing experience for me but everyone was so , so welcoming and it soon became a place of comfort and to just get away from everything ! i've genuinely loved writing out every single thread , plotting out every single plot and just being able to be in an environment where everyone has been like a family ! i'm going to miss everyone so much <3

PSA about HollywoodUndeadHQ

Alight I know I made a post about this before and here I am having to make another post about this since it was brought up yet again by another rpt and I am tired of people assuming what happened and speaking on my own behalf when they have no right doing so. The reviews I have found so far were posted on  @twiggyrpt and @p-parkersrph​ (they got one of the anons from the opposing group) 

- The ooc list doesnt show people's names because there is a discord server with everything you need (follow lists, events, activity checks, etc) because there are groups sending hate purposely just because they can and taking any chance they can to jump down hollywoodundead's throat because it gives them a thrill for some odd reason. I know with 100% it is a certain group that has been harassing Hollywoodundead and I have screenshot proof of it being them as well as IP tracking since they failed to realize I put that on my site the second I started getting those messages. As well as checking the anon tracking through my rph blog. 

- Also the comment about ‘more asian fcs’, and ‘more kpop bois’. is not me fetishizing asians. its me wanting to see more of my own race in the rp. I am asian so yes I want more asian representation. All the other rps I have been a part of never associated with my fc's because of them being asian whereas the second I joined HollywoodUndeadHQ they had accepted me with open arms and didn't let the race of my character get in the way of plots or interactions. Whether it be more kpop bois (which might i mind you i do have one as a fc in that group and would love to see more representation around since I don't see them basically anywhere so asking to see more isn't a bad thing) or more asian fcs the moral of the story is I want to see more representation and encourage that representation. 

-Now to address the stupid bs about the whole changing bae suzy to nina dobrev. I was the one who changed the character. As someone who is Asian American, I wrote the bio without any race in mind and then I played with the idea of making them asian fc for some more representation but the more I played with that fc I realized that it didn't seem to fit well. I was already going back and forth between suzy and nina originally and I thought that nina better fit the anne character. And I would use suzy for another character in the future that I am currently in the works of trying to put together. 

- If you need screenshot proof of me going back and forth between suzy and nina BEFORE the character was even posted I can give you screenshots proving this was not whitewashing or whatever they claim it to be. When I originally wrote the bio I specifically made it vague in case I did decide to go with using Suzy for another character and used my second choice nina as the new fc of said character. I wanted it to be nina originally but I also wanted to give my asian fc a chance instead but in the end it just didn’t fit like I originally wanted it to. So I will be using suzy as a fc for another character. It's simple as that. I just wanted to straighten that out so that the group that purposely was jumping down my throat about the decision I made behind the scenes stops trying to condemn the group for a decision that I had made on my own. I am not going to sit by and watch people send hate to a group that has been nothing but warm and welcoming to me ever since I joined. 

- I was also thinking about changing one of my characters who is currently white to being a poc I am just looking for the right fc for them currently.

- If you have any further questions you are allowed to ask them POLITELY in my inbox but if you are going to send hate I will delete it. Thank you for taking the time to read this. And let’s remember to not assume horrible things about certain people just because someone saw something on the outside. It’s like the saying of the iceberg you see the top but never see what is underneath. The same can go with decisions about characters. You see what is posted but not the thought that goes into it behind the scenes.

The way that Palmer's sexuality developed from an OOC point of view is actually very interesting for me to look back on.

When I first started writing Palmer, I... honestly didn’t think I’d be shipping him at all, actually. I had 0 intention of touching upon his sexuality in any form - in fact, when I first started writing him, he was a joke muse for a casual RP server that I was active in. Every now and then he would pop up in the server’s muse group chat to make a dad joke or complain about his computer problems. Sometimes the protagonist kids would talk about being pansexual or transgender when he was around, and Palmer - while he didn’t quite get the concepts - would just give them a supportive thumbs up. You do you, kids!

Eventually I started getting really interested in Palmer, and started to play him much more seriously. I started writing him in another server. Don’t get me wrong, my early Palmer writing + portrayals were laughably bad, but I was making an effort to make him multi-dimensional beyond just a crack muse. Around this time I also discovered some cute SinnohDads fanart on Pixiv and went wow they’re kinda cute, vocalized that I wanted to ship them, and another mun stepped up to the plate and offered to write a Byron for me.

In this server, Palmer had two kids ; Barry and... okay this is lame, but the Thorton I played in that same server was his adopted kid. A few years prior to when that server’s RP took place, Thorton gets fucked up really badly by a Pokémon while under Palmer’s supervision, he almost dies, it makes the news. Palmer blames himself for not preventing the incident, and he becomes a bit of a shut-in who hides away from the media, for the incident is frequently brought up whenever he’s mentioned in magazines or whenever he’s in an interview.

Palmer and Byron are in a relationship, and Palmer is closeted, but it has absolutely nothing to do with internalized messages or a homophobic landscape. Instead, his reason for being closeted hinged on one key point.

Palmer fears the media. He knows tabloids will grip onto his relationship should it be revealed, and that him being dragged into the spotlight will drag up the incident with Thorton that he’d rather keep buried.

Now, with how the Discord RP scene works, every 2 or 3 months the server you're in will die and you will all have to migrate elsewhere. The server I was in died, and in Server #3 I chose to retcon the fucked-up-by-a-Pokémon bit from Thorton’s backstory because it was... way, way too edgy for a character like Thorton.

( Around this time I also started to pull away from writing him as Palmer’s adopted kid, too. )

Only problem - I forgot to remove the incident from Palmer’s character. I kept writing Palmer as being closeted due to his fear of tabloids dredging up an incident which didn’t even happen in this timeline.

This was eventually pointed out to me and I suddenly had to figure out a new reason for Palmer to be closeted. Sure, I could have retconned him being closeted entirely, but that would undo almost his entire romantic relationship with Byron at that point. Instead of retconning everything we had worked on, I split up Palmer’s fears of being outed to revolve around three points.

Palmer fears the media erasing his achievements. He wants to be known as a powerful trainer, and he worries that the media would put emphasis on his sexuality. He wants to be known as Palmer, Sinnoh’s Tower Tycoon, and not queer Frontier Brain Palmer Tsugu or Palmer, the first openly gay Frontier Brain.

Palmer fears the media becoming overbearing on Barry. He doesn’t want Barry to be hassled by tabloids and bothered with questions about his father’s relationship life - and he fears gossip spreading and negatively impacting his kid.

Palmer fears Barry reacting to his relationship negatively. He was an absent father - Palmer doesn’t want Barry to lash out at Byron for stealing his father from him, nor does he want Barry to feel as if Palmer cares for Byron more than him.

With time, these plot points began to split more and I got much more in-depth with them.

Then, just over a year ago - after I had joined Server #4 - my partner and I started to talk more about Palmer and Byron’s backstory. We had always talked about how they were childhood friends and how Byron had a crush on Palmer in their younger years, but we hadn’t really fleshed it out at all. This was the point where I started to fully slide over the yes Palmer is a man with very severe internalized homophobia take. His worries about his sexuality started to focus less on will the media be pricks about this and became more focused on the idea that being gay is a sign of deviancy and moral failure, which is still where he sits nowadays.

OOC Statement:

Hello, All.

My name is Moe, or Admin/Vice Provost O, and it was brought to attention of myself and Daisy/Admin/Vice Provost D that there was a list of claims about us, the admins, and Joie as a whole, posted a few hours ago. 

Part of me worries that addressing this will create a sort of opposite-Streisand Effect where acknowledging this brings it to the attention of a multitude more people than who would have seen it if we chose to simply ignore it. But the main goal and mantra of this RP from day one has been transparency, and I refuse to renege on that now.

The tl;dr is that these claims are falsified. They come from ex-members who, for any number of reasons, left or were removed on poor terms.

Now that the tl;dr is out of the way, please take a breath and prepare yourself for the tl.

Utilizing everything that I have at my disposal, I will dispute each of these claims to the best of my ability. 

For all screenshots, I will block out the names/icons of other people since at the end of the day, the point of this is not to expose anyone. We simply want to clear our name of these false claims. The ace flag Grant Gustin icon is me. The Andy icon is Daisy. 

During these refutes, I will be picking out specific screenshots, but, for the sake of transparency, in the morning, I will edit this post to post the full conversations at the very end.

I will be jumping around a bit, but I will start in reverse order after the cut.

False Testimony 4 has a lot of moving parts, but I will do my best to address each one. (With screenshots, when applicable.)

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #1: “It became very clear within a matter of a few weeks that they didn’t really like minority characters. I was among one of two minority charcters among mostly white males who were gay.”

To say that we don’t/didn’t like minority characters is absurd. At Joie, we have always loved and cherished all of our characters, but especially muses that tend to be neglected in the community, such as POC, nonbinary/genderqueer, and muses with disabilities. We even do our best to celebrate that by having the ability to sort our followlist via some of those identities, and by doing our best to suggest POC FCs when our current members consider picking up additional characters.

As anyone who runs an RP for a while knows, the makeup of an RP moves in waves. For example, there are definitely times when there are far more male FCs in comparison to other genders--especially in an RP like ours that doesn’t believe in placing bans on certain types of characters. With that in mind, without being able to go back and see exactly who was apart of Joie when this player joined, they are more than likely correct that there were few other POC muses. But in no way does that translate into saying that we ‘don’t like’ or are somehow against POC muses.

Similarly, I am a black female myself. Not only that, but I am plus-sized, and considered Mercedes to basically be my mirror while growing up. (Picture of my hand below as evidence.) Meaning that false claim hurts in more ways than one.

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #2: “Both an admin and another character wanted their character with Sam but Sam was interested in Mercedes.”

This claim is solely their word against mine, and it is definitely small potatoes in comparison to some of the larger claims, but I find this important to dispute for two reasons: 1, it continues to break apart this false claim that the admins in some way ‘didn’t like’ or ‘had it out’ for this player, and 2, it showcases that the person making this claim is, unfortunately, an unreliable narrator.

My dispute to this is the following: At the time that this Mercedes player was with us, I had 2 characters and Daisy had only 1. My first character and Daisy’s single character where in a slow-burn ‘will they, won’t they’ plot with each other that lasted the entire time Mercedes was there and then some. My 2nd character, Spencer, was/is a lesbian. If anything, I feel that maybe this player felt I was interested in having Spencer be with Sam because they were best friends. However, as previously mentioned, Spencer is and always has been a lesbian. So that simply is not the case.

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #3: “ It all came to a head when Jeff and Mercedes got into a fight because Jeff’s new boyfriend had hurt Sam’s feelings and Mercedes took up for her boyfriend. Jeff started being really disrespectful to her and then wrote a text to his boyfriend saying if Mercedes showed up to the sorority house he would kick her ass and kick her out by her nappy ass weave. That pissed me off. I felt like that was extremely disrespectful and racist. You don’t say things like that. It hurt me OOC as a black woman and IC as a Mercedes player But the admins did nothing.”

Thankfully, we’re to our first claim with hard evidence to dispute with. While it is true that this situation did, unfortunately occur, it is completely false to say that the admins did nothing. Here is a conversation between myself and the player showcasing the exact opposite.

(The text conversation in question was unfortunately written over so I cannot link to it, but I’d like to mention some additional things about this situation:)

Much like I said in the conversation, I originally didn’t read the texts to be inherently or explicitly intended to be racist. I read it more in the way of how talking about ‘weave’ and the like has/had started to become just as prominent in the gay community as it is the black one. But, also like I mentioned in the conversation, I recognized that she more than likely had a different background/history with the word than I did, so I wanted to still address the situation however I needed to in order to make sure that she, as the victimized party, still felt comfortable.

As seen in the conversation, she said all she needed was to get it off her chest. And even with her saying she did not need any more action to be made, I still took it a step further and spoke to the other party, gave them a strike (Joie works on a 3 strike policy except in the case of egregious offenses), and had them remedy the situation by changing the text.

To say we did nothing is, once again, just simply false.

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #4: “Then the player and their friend started harassing me. I told the admins over and over and they said there was nothing they could do. The player even lied on me with no proof ( I showed the admins proof of the hate) and the admins basically pressured me saying I was welcome to leave if it bothered me so much. I was really upset and hurt. The hate just continued and I finally had enough and left.”

Once again. It is false and unfair to say we did nothing. Even though we could not get an understanding from either party of where this quarrel came from, we kept an eye on this quarrel at all times.

The tl;dr of this quarrel is this: The harassment was something that was almost non-stop from both sides, and it would come in waves. We would be approached by one of the two players, we would diffuse the situation, and then a few days would pass, and another would spring up. It was a constant thing.

While I don’t have many screenshots, I do have some screenshots of things started to reach its peak. Within this screenshot, you can see that we did do everything in our power to fix this situation by urging the two to try to finally talk things out with admin moderators present instead of continuing to hash things out unhealthily on the dash via character bleeding.

(This came up as part of a larger conversation regarding this character’s lack of general activity and choice to bubble and have Mercedes be extremely argumentative/aggressive whenever they were on. This is the most relevant part, but, again, for the sake of transparency, I will post the entire conversation after this full statement is done)

Quick clarification: “We can see your custom status” refers to the custom status on discord. The status vagued about the situation in same way, although it’s been months so I can’t remember exactly what.

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #5: “I hadn’t even thought about Joie after I left. But they hate continued. One of the admins ( I recently found out) joined a group pretending to be me with my name and was extremely rude playing Mercedes as a stereotype, thank goodness a few people who knew me told me about it and the admin left the group. Turns out she was just there to spy on their group so they could steal ideas. ”

This claim is just straight up false. It is not even ‘misremembered’ or ‘unreliable’. It is just false. 

Since Joie started, I have not joined any other RP of any kind. Daisy has joined other RPs, but none of them have been Glee RPs, and none of them have been this weird ‘stereotype/stealing information’ claim. 

Also, if one thinks about this claim for a few seconds longer, the whole thing makes less and less sense. If someone’s goal was to ‘steal ideas’ from an RP, why would they draw attention to themselves by: A, pretending to be someone else in the community--Especially someone who plays a rarely-picked up character? and B, playing a black woman as a stereotype--something that almost all admins would address immediately? Additionally, what ‘ideas’ would someone be stealing from an RP? And additionally, additionally, if there were somehow ideas to steal, why would someone need to join an RP to see them? Nothing regarding that claim stands up to logic.

I have come to the table with screenshots left and right. I encourage this player to please give screenshots of whatever group this supposedly is/what, pictures of the supposed blog, and/or more information about which admin this supposedly was and how they know. 

Because on the off-chance that this isn’t just a completely falsified statement pulled out of thin air, it is definitely a situation where this player simply thought that we did something when we absolutely did not. Which brings us to claim 6:

‘Testimony’ 4, Claim #6: “Then they started sending hate to the Sam player pretending it was me mad at a new ship. I tried explaining that I didn’t even follow Joie anymore but the damage was done and I lost a friend and writing partner. The group the admins they are all toxic and I am still paying the price for making the mistake of joining that group.”

Much like claim 5, this claim is just false. Straight up, 100% false. Not ‘misremembered’, not ‘unreliable’. False.

And also much like claim 5, if this is not pulled completely out of thin air, it is a situation where this player simply thought that we did something when we absolutely did not. And for this claim, I actually am leaning a bit more towards it being this one.

It is obviously difficult to prove that you didn’t do something, but I have proof that the Joie main was also receiving odd and hate anons talking about Mercedes/this Mercedes player. 

I logically have my suspicions that this is the Mercedes player themselves because on August 3rd, they had been away from the RP for over 7 months, and I highly doubt a ‘friend’ would be able to know we even had a Mercedes--let alone specifically her--after all that passed time, but this is about disputing claims, not making them myself, so I digress.

If nothing else, this screenshot shows that if there was someone other than the player sending weird Mercedes-specific anons, it was not us.

With ‘Testimony’ 4 out of the way, I will move my attention to ‘Testimony’ 2.

‘Testimony’ 2, Claim #1: “Hey! I just want to warn people about Joie. I honestly thought it would have died by now with the toxic admins. I joined that group near the beginning and was kicked without a single word from the admins AFTER they internet stalked me and found out my exact location. They held, and probably still hold, a grudge against me for no reason, or at least none that has ever been explained to me. It's super creepy and I'd be wary.”

There’s actually two false claims in this one statement. I will refute them in opposite order starting with the bit that’s bolded.

The tl;dr is that no one internet stalked anyone and, more importantly, no one has their exact location. (I will explain that further after giving background to the whole situation.)

This situation is another long one, but here’s the gist: The reason Daisy and I (and originally two other admins, but they are long gone) created this RP was to leave a different RP where the admins and some members were not kind to us. Not too long after Joie got off the ground, we received 3 new apps which we then accepted. Within a few moments of meeting them in the OOC, suspicions were DMed to us (both by one of our now long-gone admins and another regular player at the time) that at least one of the 3 apps was actually a person that I’ll call Z for the rest of this story, trying to pass as someone else by using a different alias and a brand new fake Discord account. Z had a negative history with one of our players, was a part of the group all 4 admins were fleeing from, and additionally had a particularly negative history with one of our long-gone admins.

Like implied in the story, we already had a history with this person, so we knew vaguely where the person lived (in the same way that all internet people talk to each other). In order to see if this person actually was Z, we checked the ping that submitted the app (more on that in a second), saw it was from the same country we know Z had mentioned living in, and then approached them about it. 

While talking to Z, G (another one of the 3 apps) came forward to admit in a rage that they and the 3rd app, X, were all people with similar negative histories all doing the same thing in order to try to sneak into our RP.

Z and G left on their own accord while X was told by admins that they were going to be removed (more on that in a second).

Two more quick clarifications: One, this is in the middle of a larger conversation where G came to me discussing IC problems with the player that all three of them had a negative history with (At this time, I had no clue G was with X and Z, so I was handling it like I would a normal quarrel.) Like others, I will put the whole conversation as a footer at the end, but above is the relevant part.

Two, like I said before, I am about transparency, so I’ve posted this conversation piece as a whole even though there is false info it in. Much like I will explain further in a second, no one stalked anyone. Nor was anyone harrassed past asking them why they chose to do this instead of just being truthful from the jump.

Now, onto addressing the “stalking” claim head on:

No one was stalked, nor did anyone find anyone’s ‘exact location’. We realized who Z and X were by looking at their pings. 

For those who do not know what pings are, pings are the little dot that shows up when you go on a blog that has the ‘[blank] people online, [blank] total visitors’ code on it. This thing here:

A majority of Glee blogs nowadays have them. If you click on the links, it takes you to this page where you can see your ping. 

The ping above is mine on Seblaine RPH’s blog. And I have no problem showing you this ping because it is nowhere near my real location. These pings are based on cellphone towers, so they’re vague to begin with (the really only show the state/country, and they also are usually fairly off (at least a few cities away in any direction).

This, completely readily available information that almost all Glee blogs have, is all the information that was used. The only reason it helped at all was because Z did not live in America. Something we already knew. And it confirmed that the alias we were suspicious of also didn’t live in America.

Otherwise, it told us nothing. No city, no IP address, and definitely no exact location. 

To give further context, people get more personal information when they reverse search anon hate than someone could get from this ping. And people give more personal information when they simply post a picture of themselves than someone could get from this ping.

And since there are probably some people who didn’t know that’s what happens when you go on a blog, I want to add this: 

In addition to this being something many Glee blogs have, we also (again in the efforts of transparency) have never shied away from explaining this process to our members when they ask. 

I have screenshots of me explaining this to a member in more--and arguably, better--detail below (and this is the only conversation I will not post in full because they have nothing to do with the larger convo, and their reason for asking was personal.)

For a bit of context, using this same tactic, we found, months later, that a different player had created a fake alias and was playing more roles through that account after she was told to up activity before applying for another on her main account. 

Now moving on to the other half of that false claim:

Unfortunately, my conversations with X (the person I’m assuming sent this, as G and Z left in a huff on their own accord) are long deleted and gone, but I can assure that we explained to them the reason why they were removed. And the reason why I know is that because, like I said before, Joie’s mission has always been transparency. 

So once they left/were removed respectively, we explained the situation to the main OOC as well. Most of it was via VC for ease on my poor fingers (unlike right now), but there’s still enough to hopefully get my point across.

Moving on to false Testimony 3 and 1:

‘Testimony’ 3, Claim: “If you are not a gay or bisexual white Male then stay away from Joie they pretend to be accepting but are not. As a minority female I was bullied constantly and the admins did nothing. But the moment the same person bullied a white male they kicked that person out. Joie is toxic.”

Much like previous false testimonies, this never happened. It’s as simple as that. This is false.

Much like mentioned before, whenever there is a situation, Daisy and I work hard to make sure that things come to a resolution as soon as possible. 

Additionally, as I also mentioned before, I am also a minority female--specifically a black female. Why would I ever do something like that?

‘Testimony’ 1, Claim: “Joie Academy treated me like crap as well and practically told me that 'I seem like the kinda person no one would get along with in the real world'... I am surprised people are still there cause the admins are the worst and put me through so much.”

This is another testimony that is just completely and utterly false. Not ‘misremembered’, not ‘unreliable’. False.

I don’t have much to say on the topic past that that I haven’t already said multiple times over in other places throughout this.

In closing, I would just like to say that although I recognize and appreciate what Seblaine RPH is trying to do by warning people of problematic/toxic RPs, I am pleading that they please get both sides of a story before making such a bold post with such bold claims as he did.

False claims travel 6 times faster than real ones, and if the trend becomes that all it takes to get an RP to be considered blacklist-able is people sending false claims about it, Joie will unfortunately not be the last RP to fall victim to this.

Calling out an M/s rp

Now for my callout posts against @devilskeyhq, warning others of their problematic behavior and educating the admin team so that they can learn to be better admins to their players. Remember while reading this that I have spoken with almost a dozen people about this at this point and they all say the same things, with screenshot evidence to prove it:

First things first, the tea. For those that don't want to read this whole thing, I'll summarize. DevilsKeyHQ is an M/s rp that allows non consensual activity in character and refuses to add a warning that people can see before they apply that lets them know. They were told that they were triggering their players that expected to be in a safe, sane, and consensual group but were subjected to mass rape and their response was to publicly humiliate everyone that had complained and allow their other players to rant about how wrong it was to complain and how upset everyone was to have to alter the group in order to keep everyone safe. 

They bully people with autism both ic and ooc by treating their inquiries and commentary as stupid and using microaggressions to humiliate them and make them feel invalid. 

They're stalking @thedaltonsanctuary because it's a real D/s roleplay that two of their previous players have had since 2017 and there's a real concerning level of paranoia being thrown out in order to slander them; the moment that TDS started to take off, they decided there wasn't room in the tags for two groups and they kicked them out of DK without warning or anything happening other than TDS getting a bunch of apps, and started trying to bully the group and the players completely out of the roleplay community. There are still players in DK that are too afraid to leave right away because they don't want to be stalked, harassed, and bullied because of the fact that they were made to feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Some of them plan on leaving roleplay entirely as soon as it’s safe to leave DK without being noticed or being obvious about not agreeing with the admins. 

My opinion on the matter is that two people very unfortunately chose to "give themselves a break" from admining their own groups and got to know people in a group that is headed by very toxic admins and a couple of toxic players as well. They were kind enough to try to take care of other people, even though they didn't have to and knew that they were probably going to get kicked out for telling the admins that people weren't comfortable. They were warned by the friends that had been in the group that they were almost definitely going to be either bullied out or immediately removed. The admins didn't like that there was someone else that was more knowledgeable on D/s and they didn't like that there was someone who was looking out for the safety of the whole group instead of putting the admins and their friends first. And the real tipping point was watching another roleplay flourish-- by the same people that had already proven themselves to be more knowledgeable and better at being admins. Now they're trying to slander this group in an attempt to become the only smut group in the tags and it's honestly so very middle school and everything I'm about to go through disgusts me to my core.

Before I begin, I’d like to remind everyone that none of this would have happened if people weren’t triggered by M/s content dominating what was supposed to be a D/s rp without any warning about the content. I’d also like to remind everyone that when this problem was brought to the admin team, it was as easy as accepting that they may have done something wrong and deciding to either end all M/s activity (which some people seemed to not want) or label their main with a warning so that nobody else was triggered by that surprised. If you’re looking for a TLDR on how this should have been handled, that’s it right there. There is no reason at all for any of what I’m about to say to have happened. 

I'll start with the easiest thing to explain; the bullying of people with autism. I'll explain quickly here that people that are neurotypical do not think in the same ways that people who aren't. This causes an uncomfortable rift in communication that when not addressed properly, can become bullying. @disabilityrph is going to be posting a guide very soon on how to spot and avoid bullying people because of their autism, as has definitely happened in this case. So I won’t go into too much detail, but I will give you an example.

EXAMPLE: If you as an admin write out an event post explaining what it going on in the roleplay, there is never an example in which it is okay to passive aggressively dictate the thought that any question given is a stupid question.

HOW THAT WORKS: If someone asks, "Will this be involved?" the proper reply is never going to be, "Why would that be involved? It doesn't make sense that it would be." Just because you find the answer to the question obvious, does not mean that everyone does, especially someone with autism. The proper reply is a simple answer; yes or no, and if you feel like it might be necessary you can add why that is the answer. As an admin, you never want to make any one feel humiliated for asking a question in order to fully understand your group. There is never a stupid question. All questions are valid. You have to remember that not everyone thinks in the same way that you do, some people will have questions that you didn’t consider. Some people will read what you wrote and have questions that you think the answers to are obvious, but clearly they’re not if someone is asking! Nobody should ever get a sarcastic or passive aggressive answer from an admin. 

After speaking with multiple autistic players within the grpc, as well as players within DevilsKey itself, I have been told that this happens a lot. They will ask questions ooc and people will reply as if they are stupid for asking. When they bring up thoughts in character that other people don't agree with, they get treated like they're stupid again. I've been shown screenshots of this happening to people in DevilsKeyHQ with my own eyes. This is a damned shame.

The next topic is the fact that their roleplay is obviously a Master/slave roleplay because of the fact that a large group of people were raped by the NPCs that the admins have created. I saw that there was ooc warning that a punishment was coming, but the simple fact is that nobody would ever expect rape to be involved in a D/s punishment. Nobody would expect anything that left lasting damage, because punishments are not meant to be traumatic in D/s. A punishment is meant to better a person, they should walk away feeling as though they have learned a lesson and worked through anything that they had to feel bad for. If there is any power play that is being used to traumatize people or make them do literally anything at all that is against their will, that is M/s and not D/s. The distinction is important because people use D/s as a means of therapy, to get over their trauma. Someone who was raped, for example, might become a submissive so that they can work through their trauma under the guidance of a Dominant and if that Dominant chose to rape them as a punishment because they weren't fitting their role well enough? That would be abuse, that is not D/s. BDSM holds RACK and the concept of safe, sane, and consensual above all else.

Asking for that distinction to be made clearly is completely within a person's rights here on Tumblr. It's a smart thing to do, and any admin that cared at all about creating a safe space for their group would never do anything like that. They would take their problematic behavior into account and properly label the main Tumblr blog for their roleplay. I read through it, it does not at all sound like the roleplay that I have screenshots of in my inbox. You do not rape someone anally for hours and hours against their will in a roleplay where the words "safe, sane, and consensual" are written on the main. That's just common sense and decency.

The players that were kicked out are not the only ones that I have spoken with and they are not the only ones that were uncomfortable. They're also not the only people that will be leaving the group because of this. 

The sequence of events for how this roleplay came to my attention are as follows:

Two roleplayers were writing with multiple members of DevilsKey and chose to join the group at the request of their friends. They created characters that had family connections to their friends, and wrote their bios with their friends, and their friends had all been in the group for months at that point. This was not a calculated plan, this was an attempt to roleplay in the roleplay community. They joined the ooc discord server before their apps were accepted in order to get a better understanding of the roleplay, but all of the roleplay was hidden and nothing that was shown gave them any indication that it was an M/s rp. These two players brought in original characters and immediately made various connections with other players within the roleplay. They were more active than the admin's own characters, if you ask for my opinion on it. That proves that they were interested in making connections with DevilsKey, they put the effort in to make them.

Then the punishment was warned. I read this warning. Nowhere did it say anything that would in any way warn about the content of the punishments. It is specifically stated that they are focusing on D/s so it should be a normal D/s punishment. Instead, when the plot dropped, a large group of characters were stripped and dragged to cells where they were denied food and tortured for an entire week. These characters were raped and humiliated, abused and broken in ways that defy every covenant of the D/s and BDSM handbook.

From day one, people were triggered. I have screenshots of DMs that go back that far. But the player that was being complained to was also told not to go to the admins for the first few days, because the people who were upset were afraid that the admins would bully them and kick them out for "complaining." Days were spent with these people being triggered by the rape that was being forced in front of their eyes. They stayed in the group for the same reason that anyone stays in an abusive relationship; you can't let go of the "good things." They had spent months in this group, getting to know these players ooc and developing their muses ic. They were attached, especially considering the lack of groups in the tags and the lack of involvement in the grpc.

But enough became enough eventually. When people started to realize that they were triggered and that they were not feeling any better, they weren't sleeping, they didn't want to eat, and the punishment was coming to a close but they were beginning to realize that even though the plot was about to be over, it wasn't over. Their characters all had lasting damage, some just mental but most physical as well. The damage was done. Even if they managed to drag their characters out of the depressing hole they were in, they had to fear this happening again. They didn't sign up for an M/s rp. They didn't sign up for rape. They didn't sign up for trauma. So they hadn't expected it. And nobody gets to decide that a person’s feelings aren’t valid because it took them time to be comfortable having them relayed. 

The player that is suddenly being accused of being "far too close to his Dominant character" went to the admin as a fellow admin. He explained that he had previous admin experience, so he understood their position. He explained that he had real world experience in the D/s community, so he understood what he was talking about based on his own experience and that of the community he spends time in every day, and had a serious concern for the wellbeing of the writers in the group. He told them that he didn't want to start trouble, that he wanted everyone to remain calm and that he didn't want anyone to be anxious. When he got busy and had to table the conversation for real life, he even told the admin that he wasn't silent because of them. He was very gentle. He explained the difference between M/s and D/s and he explained why it is important to properly label groups. He was asked a series of questions that made it look like his concern was being taken seriously, and then it was completely not taken seriously in the group chat.

The reason players had asked one person to go to the admins was because they were too afraid to, they were intimidated and they did not want to deal with any negative blowback they'd get for being upset. The admins proved their concern to be founded when they not only posted about everything that had been said in the ooc, they allowed other players to basically humiliate the people who complained by saying they didn't agree, so nobody could be upset, and in fact they were the ones who were greatly upset and the people who complained should feel guilty about it because now it changes the whole entire plot of the entire group for them and they don't get to finish adding more traumatic plots to the event. One of the admins even joined in to talk about how mad they were that people weren't comfortable enough with them to talk to them? And explained that they had admin issues in the past too, but despite how anyone might be feeling or what makes them most comfortable... it's a slight against the admins and they've been hurt.  

I don't think I need to explain why that is wrong. No admin should allow their players to speak like that in the ooc chat. No admin should air that much dirt in public either; it would have sufficed to say, "After further consideration, we have decided that there might be a few issues with this plot drop and we are here to let you know that it's being dropped. The past still happened, but no further punishments will be doled out and we are considering a new way of dealing with punishment plots in the further." As an admin, it is your job to keep your players safe, and you really dropped the ball there. Not only did you let your players publicly humiliate people, leaving more than one of your players going to bed crying and thinking that they were going to wake up to the entire group hating them and/or their role being removed, but one of the admins added to it themselves and made people feel like now they really couldn't go to the admins. Who would go to someone who does not keep them safe? Who airs their complaints so everyone can boo at them on a public forum? Who shames and guilts them for being anxious? Especially when their concerns weren't really addressed and they were told they were wrong? The plot was ended, but it was made clear that it wasn't because the admins wanted to continue in a way that was safe for all of their players or to find a way to stay in D/s territory and out of M/s non con.

Both players that were removed stepped in the ooc chat to say that it would be better to be mindful of everyone's feelings, and that it wasn't really kind to invalidate all of the people that had complained. It was explained that if things had been properly labeled, this wouldn't have been an issue, because anyone who doesn't want to associate with non consensual activity would avoid it. Many players chimed in to agree with both sentiments.

That situation was taken care of in a poor way, but it was handled and it was ended. The players that were removed were not triggered or affected by M/s material. One of them was upset about the fact that their character was only punished once, in fact, while all of the admin's own characters had been punished three or four times and kept being pulled up to either get hurt or hurt other people. By force. In a D/s rp, let me remind you. But the fact that the players weren't kicked out then proves that this had nothing to do with their removal. It would be pretty shitty if it did, because for an admin to kick someone out for telling them that they had players triggered for days and feeling upset and then turn around and scream and wonder why nobody wants to bring any of their concerns to them is a level of denial I'm not ready to accept myself. Both players continued to plot ooc and they continued to write with multiple people. They were still talking to everyone that had been triggered, keeping tabs on them, making sure they felt alright. The admins were not doing anything to make sure their players were alright, despite knowing that they weren't.

Before they joined DevilsKeyHQ, both players had been talking to several other roleplayers about their previous Tumblr roleplays. They started a sfw au roleplay group a few months ago and had been talking to friends about previous group plots and new ideas to see if they wanted to work together to either bring an old group back to life or start a new one. TheDaltonSanctuary was open years ago and has not changed since it was originally opened, aside from the addition of a second admin. Multiple people from DevilsKeyHQ had been in TDS previously, when it opened the first time. That particular admin has at least 30 groups between discord and Tumblr. The one that their friends chose-- and I have screenshots of this too-- to encourage them to open was TDS. They opened for acceptances on the 18th. They joined DevilsKeyHQ on the 24th. The fact that the admins of DK want to try to say that TDS is in any way a copy of them or a threat to them when they are two entirely different roleplays and TDS was made years and years ago is all the proof that I need that the admins of DK are just petty, immature, and can’t handle not feeling as though they are the only and best option; but of course, there’s plenty of proof of that, in my opinion.

There have been allegations that they stole NPS from DevilsKey, but a quick look at the main proves that to be false. There are no OC NPC characters in TDS. It was also stated in the ooc discord server after they were removed from DK that the admins were upset and angry because one of the players had brought their OC Sterling twin to their own rp. Anyone is allowed to birth a muse and then decide that they like them so much that they want to see them in an au setting. The character that the other player brought to DK was an OC from his own group and he said so multiple times and nobody accused him of stealing from his own group? But the admins believe they own an OC because it was born in their group. 

Their official announcement for why these two were removed stated that they had:

taken an OC from DK to TDS and therefore they needed to be removed in order to "keep DK's plot safe" (but DK is completely unusable for an actual D/s rp)

clearly only joined DK to try to poach players for TDS (though they never once said a word about their rps to anyone, and wouldn't even say which plots were still active, which were groups, or which were 1x1s when talking ooc about what they've written before)

and finally for their "little outburst in the ooc group chat" in which they said that it wasn't kind to invalidate people who had been courageous enough to finally (after days of being unable to) asked for the admins to be informed that they were triggered

It's already been stated that TheDaltonSanctuary and DevilsKeyHQ have two entirely different plots. TDS is a safe environment where there is BDSM info in the ooc server and characters are placed in a sort of rehab and recreational environment that is geared towards mental health, education, and finding and maintaining a healthy claim. DevilsKeyHQ is one of those sex island groups, there have been thousands in the tags where the plot is always the same; people are taken to a sex island and have to live by M/s rules or they'll be punished with penetrative rape via multiple orifices.

With no reason to get rid of the players that knew more than they did, looked out better for their players, and now were thriving in a real D/s group... the admins kicked them out and made stuff up. If they were being removed for asking that the admins consider the safety of their players, it would have happened when it happened. If they were being removed for stealing from DK to put things in TDS, they would have kicked them out back then too-- because it was known that they had TDS for a long time before. They were only kicked out of the group when TDS started to gain traction and one of the admins brought their OC in and one of the players that had applied to TDS before the admins joined DK brought an OC from DK too. So it's clear that jealousy has fueled this entire debacle and it was so easy to solve.

Theres only one word left to sing, Goodbye.

So, as I stated in the ooc blog, I’ve been dealing with this ever since the Sophie pregnancy rumors started. I don’t want Sophie to have any children, at least not for now, because my Sophie is not in a mentally stable place to have any kids, so I’m always very sure to mention the fact that she’s on contraception if it ever comes up, because that’s just the way I wanted her to go.

This is gonna get long, so go grab yourself a cup of coffee or a can of diet Coke, some snacks and read along if you can even be assed to. 

I was approached by the main when I made a joke of it to please not talk about it until they decided what they wanted to do about the rule of making people keep or not keep their babies. Let it be known that there’s a person in this roleplay who, a while back, had this same situation where her real life celebrity became pregnant and asked the main if she could keep the baby, and was told no because it would be unfair to all the people who had been waiting for baby plots. When I brought this up, they said it was their mistake at the time, and that they were now enforcing it as a rule and had denied the request plenty of times. So this isn’t something that’s been going on for ages, it’s been only a couple of months back. So I waited, staying off the topic unless it was brought up, until I was told very quickly that I’d be forced to keep the baby because it was disrespectful to the celebrity and the baby and that it was in the rules of the group. I tried exploring options (adoptions, pregnancy complications and others I won’t mention because even though they’re real things that really happen, they may be triggering), but was told that none of them would work, that I’d have to keep the baby, and the baby would have to be Joe’s (not an NPC) because if in the future we ever had a Joe, it would be disrespectful and complicated to work around it. I respected their decision, because I’ve always been nothing but accommodating to whatever the main says because I understand this is their group, and if I’m in it, I have to follow the rules. It’s something I accepted and it’s something I understand as a person. I was offered the chance to switch and swap storylines with someone else, which was nice of them because until November I think I’m out of switches, but I declined because Sophie is my baby, and I wasn’t gonna do anything until the pregnancy was either confirmed or dismissed. 

I chose to keep playing Sophie as she was, ignoring the pregnancy because it hadn’t been officially announced, and just playing her out like I was. But nobody was saying anything from her team, and pictures that came out kept hinting towards the fact that she was undoubtably pregnant, so it came to a point where I’m having stress dreams and panic induced anxiety attacks because I don’t know where my own character may be going. I’ve talked it over with people, I’ve gotten plenty of opinions, so last night I sent the main a message listing all the reasons why I saw that this new disposition of making me keep the baby was not only disrespectful to me and to my whole character development, but it was also godmodding me and other people in my storyline when forced to “get creative” and accommodate the new child into Sophie’s storyline. I sent this in hopes that all my reasons would make them see, but I got a reply today basically saying that it’s an extension to the rules that exist today about not eliminating any real life children, that it was implied from the beginning and that they understood that it was changing my storyline, but they said that there’s many celebrities that don’t show their children and that’s not saying they’re bad parents (so if Sophie were to have the baby and send it off to Joe and never mention it and act as if the baby didn’t happen, she’s clearly not a bad parent, she just ignores her child and doesn’t even reference it, spends all her time away from it and doesn’t recognize it exists), but in the end, they’d be happy to allow me the creativity I need to make sure I can fit this into my storyline but sticking to their terms and conditions. That they hadn’t changed their decision and hoped I respected it. Which I do.

Granted, this now meant that the whole plot I’d been working on with Faith, our Aaron, was now rendered useless, because they’ve been talking for the better part of three months now, Sophie hadn’t had sex with anyone beforehand and even if she had and had fallen pregnant, she wouldn’t have kept it a secret from Aaron, and if Aaron had found out, he wouldn’t have gotten with Sophie. So this either meant that if I wanted to keep my that had been developing organically, I had to force Aaron to be the baby’s father, or I had to make Sophie a liar and destroy both our characters in the making. Easy to say, Faith said no to this, which I not only accept but understand and share, so that would be three months of my character development down the drain. (this has all been cleared by Faith, I’m not putting any words into anyone’s mouth). 

So after all of this and a lot of thinking, I’ve decided I can no longer stay in a group where I don’t have control of my characters. Even though they are based on real people, we’re not playing them. We’re not controlling them, we don’t claim to be them or act on their behalf, they’re just characters with their faces and names. If you don’t like seeing it that way, then I respect you, but that’s just what I see them. Shells of people we admire to fill up with a storyline that makes us happy, keeping it as close as possible when we can but also being respectful of all the time we’ve put into them. 

I’ve learned that groups are like countries, with bodies that make decisions and people who live in them. As much as we’re consulted on some things to vote, big decisions are made in a small round table between a few people who vote and decide on what to do by themselves, which is a respectable way of living in a democratic order and not chaos, and we get no say in them. And as a person living in that country, you can either stick to the rules, ask nicely for them to be changed if you don’t agree or move along. I’ve stuck to all of the rules, I’ve asked nicely for them to be changed when I don’t agree with something, and upon receiving an answer I’m not comfortable with, I’m moving aside. Roleplays are supposed to be a fun, stress free place, and with this new rule, I find myself not being comfortable, so I’m simply moving along to a place where I do feel comfortable and where I feel like rules are more fair. 

As is said on the ooc blog, to the handfuls of people I love dearly here, you all know who you are and I won’t name names, I hope life can make us find each other again, either on roleplays or in real life, I’ve learned so much about you and am so happy to call some of you close and dear friends who I’ve shared more of my life than most of the people I see on a daily basis. I’m always available on Discord, my personal or WhatsApp, where I’ll happily tell you where you can find me most often and hopefully see you very soon.

And to all the people with characters here who are getting near the age bracket of having a baby in real life (because if this rule applies to women, it better apply to men too), here’s to hoping they don’t get pregnant if you don’t want to, because you’ll be having to flex your creative muscles to help life find a way.

Hi guys, So, I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole pregnancy situation with Sophie, and since it hasn’t been announced yet (and knowing how private Joe and Sophie are they may not even announce it until they have to, which could be after the quarantine and we don’t even know when that will end), I just wanted to ask you again, to please reconsider the previous decision you’d made about making me keep Sophie’s baby.

Firstly, I understand how you’re trying to respect the celebrity and the child, but I think as much as you’re respecting them in their real life, you’re disrespecting me and all the work and development I’ve put Sophie through. She’s been here since the start, almost two years, where she’s been through so long, made so many connections and had so many points that have turned her into who she is today with all of her decisions, her life choices and what she wants and doesn’t want from life. This is my Sophie, much like each of your own characters is your own, and you’ve shaped them through time in what they like, don’t like, want and don’t want.

Secondly, making me do this would be godmodding my character into doing something I don’t want. I know it’s not a character that would be doing the godmodding, but it’s having a God figure magically implanting something into my character that I don’t want. I thought this roleplay was born to avoid stuff like that, to have a fun place to feel safe and not pressured by anyone.

Thirdly, it would be inconsistent with the timeline Sophie has, especially with the whole Coronavirus situation that the group is following. Sophie hasn’t been with anyone for a long time, and for the past couple of months, she’s been with Aaron, not officially but with feelings, so she hasn’t exactly been sleeping around. And seeing as COVID will probably keep everything on lockdown at least until August or September, it won’t be realistic because Aaron would be the only option for a father. Faith and I have already talked about it, and that’s not a direction she wants to take Aaron in, so I won’t force her to have the baby be Aaron’s. But it still doesn’t make sense for her to magically fall pregnant of a one night stand she had with Joe or anyone else, because that would alter her personality and the storyline I have now, and again, that’s godmodding and that’s unfair to me and disrespectful to me and my character. Plus, since we don’t know when this will be announced, we may be writing all of their character and relationship development for nothing, because we would just have to erase it to make the whole new storyline of the baby fit, which I don’t want to do.

This has been filling me with anxiety, I’ve literally been having anxiety attacks and haven’t been able to sleep just thinking about the future because as much as I wanna keep writing Sophie like the fun spirit she is and everyone seems to like writing with, and being in this group, because I love it and I love being here, I can’t keep developing a character that from one day to another, will change drastically if the pregnancy gets announced and I’m forced to keep the baby.

I really hope this helps you rethink the choice you’ve made a few months back, because Sophie is my favorite character here, I love her and the connections she’s made, and I’d hate to have to erase everything and change her whole demeanor just for one new rule.

Sub/Dom Wide

Well, well, looks like you’ve been naughty. I’ve got liars, students breaking and entering, sassy pants and only ONE student in the entire group of you trying to do anything about it. And no to mention all the sass I see from subs every day when they think no one’s watching. Time we all remembered our roles. You succeed together and fail together but I think some of you think you can just slide through- ignore everyone else, stick to yourself and just skim through. NO. You are a team. If one sub steps out of line, there should be a response, not just from one person but from a team of people. You all disappoint me. The sub/dom wide will be issued this week Tuesday.

The good news is, my guards have been oh so bored lately. I thought I’d reward them with a Easter egg hunt. OR rather a Submissive hunt. I sure hope your Doms are team players.

OOC information: None of this is known by characters until it actually happens.

Okay so this is a wide for subs and Doms. The Switches will also have a role to play, but it isn’t a punishment directed them.

At 6 pm, all submissives and Doms will be picked up by the Doms and taken to their respective areas. Switches will all be given communicators and told to remain in a dorm room until 10 pm.

(This is will actually start around 4 pm Tuesday OOC to give us all time to play. There will be a time stop, similar to when we do the masquerade. We will play out Tuesday night, over the course of two days. OOC the time frame is Tuesday 4pm CST until Wednesday night. IC this goes from 6pm Tuesday until Wednesday morning)

It will be dark, around 50 degrees. All students phones will be taken away.

SUBMISSIVES: Subs will be stripped, blindfolded, fitted with a shock collar, and handcuffed. (blindfolds can’t be removed) They will be placed throughout campus. (Your sub’s location is on this list). A 6 foot chain will connect their collar to a metal hook in a near by floor or wall.  Each sub will be alone in their spot. They were taken to this spot blindfolded, so they do not know exactly where they are. Guards will be hunting these submissives, trying to find them. If they are found they will have to endure a physical punishment before being put back in their spot. (It’s up to you as a writer if your sub is found by guards at all, once or twice. ) So, they’d be smart to stay quiet. They will have a communicator device. Switches will be sending them questions to help figure out where they are. They can only answer the question, not offer up any additional information.  Questions come in on a communicator. There are headphone with a mic so the subs can hear and respond. Subs can figure out where they are by feeling around, smell, feeling of outside or inside, etc.   (Example: A sub might feel around and feel that they’re in a desk, so assume a classroom. Then smell sweetness and also chemicals and deduce they might be in the home ec room.).  Once a sub has been located by a Switch, they will remain in place until a Dom with a key shows up to let them loose and escort them back to the dorms.

Each time a sub’s collar is unlocked it sends a shock to all other still locked subs. Shocks will be annoyingly painful, but not harmful. Think dog shock collar level.

Switches: You are not being punished, but you can help your less wise friends out. Guards will make sure you stay in your room until 10 pm. You will each be given a communicator which only communicates with subs. You are allowed to message three questions PER sub to try and figure out their location. Once they’ve asked their three questions they can offer a guess where the sub is and ooc the writer can confirm or deny. The switches  can share the information with other switches, but cannot ask that sub anything else about where they are. If they do determine the location of a sub they enter that information into a spreadsheet that the Doms will be able to see. Switches cannot release subs they can only locate them.  Switches are to remain in the switch building. They do not go out to find the subs physically. They also will be in charge of taking care of subs as they’re released and brought to the switch building.

Example Questions: “Are you outside?” “What can you feel?” “What can you smell?” “Can you hear anything?”

Doms: Doms will be taken by guards to their spot. (Most are in the dungeons). They will not be aware of what else is going on until 10 pm. At 10 a video message will play to each Dom explaining that they need to get a key to release a sub they care about.  Each Dom will have to make a choice. Once they’ve accomplished their task/made their choice, they will get the key they need to release any one submissive. As they leave the dungeons, there is a big screen showing the names and locations of subs that the switches have located thus far. They can pick anyone who’s been located to physically go to and release with the key. Then, they have two choices: 1. they can choose a second dungeon room to enter and accomplish the task in to get a second key and release a second submissive. OR they can grab a communicator and join the switches asking questions to locate more subs. Doms can yell back and forth between their dungeon cells, but cannot communicate with the subs or switches (unless its specifically part of their choice/task), until they get the key and get out of the dungeons.

If a Dom gets a key, they have to use that key before attempting to get a second key. Doms can only get two keys total.  If they choose the second room: IC a guard would take them to a specific room designed to be terrifying for them. OOC just pick whichever of the “generic” rooms at the bottom of the list that your character would be most terrified of. DO NOT choose an easy room for your character. It wouldn’t happen.

BIOGRAPHY

NAME: Elijah Dean Kamski ALIASES: Eli, Lij, Boss, Kamski GENDER: Male AFFILIATION: Cyberlife Technologies, currently retired AGE: 36

THE START

there's many days where the kamski family would have a bit of struggles, as elijah grew up. he never knew much about his father, seeing as his father passed when he was a very young boy — no more than six. he'd never grown to know too much about him, and his mother didn't overly want to share about him, so it was safe to say the woman had a reason for not telling elijah and that was that.

growing up with a single mother who had severe epilepsy, elijah tried his very hardest to make his mother's life as easy as possible. school days would be very short considering he'd go straight home from school in order to watch after his mother. some days with his mother, depending on the medication the doctors had recommended her, would be better than others. she always appreciated her son's committment to being with her and he was determined to make life easy on the two of them. using the money she got from the state, she'd try to urge her son go into extra cirricular activiies he wanted to do, however he only dismissed the ideas, claiming that he'd rather be home. he'd use the money to spend on textbooks, wanting to develop his own version of a Vagus nerve stimulation device. one that would make sure to surge with electrical pulses before his mother even remotely had to move herself to activate the device. computer engineering was his goal, and he'd stop at nothing to get through that.

as life continued on, elijah continued to shove his head into books and continuously study. he pushed through high school faster than anyone had expected, at age ELEVEN he had shown his studies to multipile colleges, showing his theories on how to better create medical devices.

THE CHANGE

the university of colbridge had been a struggle for elijah, being the youngest student there. studying medical engineering was easy, and he had decided to double major in computer engineering as well, to perhaps attempt to integrate the two. though school was difficult, the hardest part was being away from his mother. the school had refused to let him travel back and forth, saying that freshmen had to stay on campus as apart of regulations and requirements from the state. when he started college, his mother had decidded upon asking the state for a caregiver- on the off chance that something did happen. with the VNS that was already implanted in her, she was able to have a job during the day, but the caretaker was supposed to just oversee her during the nights. it settled eli's anxiety about his mother a little bit. four months into his freshman year, eli had woken up to a call from the san antonio police, letting him know that his mother had been rushed to the hospital after having a grand mal seizure and hitting her head on their marble counters. apparently the caretaker assigned to look after his mother hadn't even shown up that night. he quickly rushed home, terrified what had happened.

something, however that night had turned elijah into a bitter person. into someone against humanity. though his mother had survived the seizure, things weren't the same for either of them. after knowing his mother's caretaker had ABANDONED her, elijah had fully decided to go more into engineering to create a way for humans to be more reliable. what was more reliable than humanity? MACHINES. something that would always obey. obedient machines that had a purpose and a task and would see it through. dropping fully out of medical engineering, elijah settled for computer science and engeineering instead. the utter drive to create a better human than humans themselves was so strong that by the age sixteen, elijah had worked together with a team of classmates to create the first medical assistant androids. REVOLUTIONARY KICKSTARTER model 100, or RK for short. RK100 was born and tested on his mother, who seeemed quite uneasy, but only wanted to support her son.

ENTER CYBERLIFE

though it wasn't perfect, the ark series took off. mainly piquing interest in san diego, california. the backbones of the mega-billion dollar company that would be founded by elijah kamski and his cohorts suddenly had at least three hundred backers trying to support the small business after seeing what a success the RK100 was at being not only a companion for his mother, but also how helpful the RK was at it's job. the medical caretakers were able to do so much, and suddenly with the money that was being thrown at the group, elijah became more than enthused with power. hungry for it, almost.

making more medical related androids were being highly requested, and the team set out to create diffrent functions for androids, trying to perfect everything.

taking into consideration his mother — his finest mentor and most trusted support, and what she thought of the androids, he sought out to consult with his old AI professor, Amanda Stern, on how to make the androids a bit more lifelike. It was hard, at least for what his mother admitted, for a human to trust a machine that looked like a machine to help themselves out through life. upon her advice, eli threw himself into work, the team of cyberlife growing into a business, and then a wide scale company alongside elijah's work. no matter what, the man was the front of the company, having done the majority of the coding and research in what brought the androids to life. the company sought after targeting the cheapest land developments in the united states in order to make their headquarters and warehouses, bringing CYBERLIFE to DETROIT, MICHIGAN where it currently resides.

it takes kamski four years after founding cyberlife to come out with a brand new appearance for his androids. something human like after struggling and struggling to engineer the perfect components to theorize biological functions. this equiptment created became biocompotenents, but it still wasn't enough to make thes he was creating look HUMAN. but after all the struggles and finally figuring out a way to regulate something akin to blood into the android's system, elijah kamski in the year 2022 releases the RT REVOLUTIONARY TURING model; a personal assistant to elijah kamski that uses the alias ' CHLOE '. Cyberlife has been thurst into the spotlight and once again Elijah Kamski realizes that these advancements in the world have honestly made people envious. the public demands the rights to these androids and while he still is bitter over humanity and the lack of reliabilty that humans provide for the world, he obliges. Cyberlife goes public with their androids and the public are now able to put a price tag on androids.

THE REVOLUTION

the world that assumes elijah kamski is nothing but a greedy, power-hungry boss of a CEO for cyberlife overlooks one important fact: he still wants revenge on the world. his mother passes on at the age 43, a few years before his greatest mentor amanda stern passes. the loss of both role models awakens a vengeful force in elijah kamski. one that wants to remind the world that mortality is relevant for all. cyberlife has created over thousands of models, all for different functions and he looks upon his kingdom with hopeful eyes as well as bitterness. humanity has become less reliant. they've become lazier. androids have become the working force, for the most part, and while elijah sees that as a positive note because it is moving forward away from the laziness and unreliability of humanity — the CEO is fully aware that his androids are becoming more and more human like the more and more they develop. the deviant base code is never once touched. always overlooked by cyberlife developers who dare not touch the work of the first working android made by elijah kamski himself. while he's aware he, himself, is mortal just like the rest of humanity, seeing his creations become sentient, to rise up against the laziness and unreliable humanity that he lives among has been his goal. he just awaits the REVOLUTIONARY KICKSTARTER 200 to actually get pushed to the brink of going through his code.

now it's just a game of waiting to see who pushes who, and who comes up on top. it's always a delight to play god.

so pre - dasom: dasom’s mom grew up in the states, born to a trophy wife/socialite mother & a father who passed away when she was young. she came from a pretty wealthy family, grew up with top-notch education, etc. she moves to sk to attend university and there she meets dasom’s father.

cont. without her mother’s approval, dasom’s mom and dad get married quickly after meeting each other. friends and family think they’ll fail, think her father is a deadbeat with no aspirations. but then out pops dasom and she’s suddenly the peacemaker of the family lmao

1997 and up: dasom is an only child, born to a musician father and a mother who taught at a small university. they never really struggled much, her grandmother was always quick to send money their way after dasom came into the picture. she grew up getting anything she asked within reason, but she never really acted like a spoiled brat

dasom’s father is basically a musical genius, and loves to teach his daughter everything he knows. he teaches her the guitar, how to write lyrics, and how to sing songs with him. they basically do it for fun and dasom keeps up the hobby, but she finds her interests later in life.

her father starts up a band named geunal when she’s about 13, and dasom loves to listen to them play. she grows rather close with the other members in the years they’re together and thinks of them like family.

random fact: she worked in a thrift shop in high school, quit when she graduated and had to focus on university/her dance team.

she joins satellite, a competitive dance team, in 2016 and fleshes out her love for dance there. she meets most of her good friends while in the group and still talks to them years later.

goes to university and graduates with a degree in dance.

TW DEATH/ACCIDENT (2018) her grandmother arranges geunal a gig at a musical festival in the states, and it’s literally one of the best things to happen to them. they’re all excited, but dasom decides to fly down a day after everyone else because of a dance competition. unfortunately, there is a plane crash that ends up taking the lives of both of her parents and a band member. dasom takes their passing pretty hard, and immense guilt overtakes her. END TW

after her parents’ deaths, dasom drops dancing because she associates it with her guilt, quits the team and decides to pack up and move in with her grandmother in the states (2019) for awhile. there she just really focuses on herself and her grief and also gives her grandmother comfort during this time.

random fact: she brought her dog, soju, over with her to the states but he’s staying over there until dasom gets her footing back in seoul

dasom arrives back in sk at the end of 2019, and is ready to start her life back up. she’s used some money from her parents’ life insurance/selling the house to rent an apartment. also gets a job as a bartender to make some extra money while she’s trying to figure out what to do with a dance degree she wants nothing to do with. 

random fact: as a trainee, her lease hasn’t ended yet so she still technically has the apartment even as a trainee. she stays at the dorms during the week usually, but finds herself at the apartment on the weekends.

she avoids dancing at all costs, but she’s back with her regular group of friends - hanging out and TW ALCOHOL MENTION drinking her problems away at times. END TW

new years comes and a bet is placed - dasom vs some other friend ( possible connection? ), who will get into legacy? she’s drunk when she agrees, but she figures what the hell bc she won’t get in anyway.

jan 2020 - she auditions by singing and playing a bit of the drums. gets in and she’s at a loss bc now wtf is she supposed to do

random fact: she started practicing drums in high school! 

she has no idea what to expect when training begins and she hates it. she sticks around solely for curiosity but right when she’s about to call it quits, she finds hope. the announcement of the subsidiaries gives her the hope that maybe she can make her father proud by becoming a producer, or even joining a band. 

OOC NOTE: i have no idea what path i’m putting her on in the future, i’m just letting this muse lead me and see where it takes us!

PERSONALITY NOTES: overall, dasom is pretty laid-back. she’s not overly serious or critical in anyway, and is rather confident in her musically abilities. dancing is still a sore spot for her, which is awkward as a trainee, but she mainly just half asses it in the dancing classes and pushes through it. 

cont. she loves to party but she’s really a homebody; you’re not hanging with her on the weekends with her crew if you aren’t close/relatively familiar. she’s still dealing with a lot of grief but she feels like she should be over it. she allowed herself an entire year to mourn, and she feels like she should be back to normal now. but it’s not obviously and it’s taking a toll on her mentally. but she doesn’t really share this with anyone.

cont. her attitude as a trainee is she really keeps to herself? can come off cold or standoffish but she’s very loving when you get close to her. she loves to laugh and have fun, will basically enjoy anyone who isn’t a complete asshole or dimwit.

Admin Update

Hey guys, so I wanted to post this here to let everyone know of yet another little shift we are making with our rules and admissions. When we opened this place it was with the intention of being a super relaxed environment, with limited rules, limited banned face claims, and just a place for people to come have a good time. And while I hope for the most part this hasn’t effected to many of you, my own muse has been effected by watching this place change into something I didn’t recognize. I wanted to make an RP that mimicked the real world and had endless possibilities with the unique twist of playable NPC’s, weekly events, and certain freedoms that you don’t find in a lot of RP’s. All while keeping in mind that this was made to be a mature environment. I think we’ve made ourselves pretty clear if you can’t act that way, you can see yourself out. So that being said the changes that I will be making will be listed below. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in an appropriate manner. 

1. We will be removing acceptance days. Apps will be accepted as soon as they can be received and reviewed. 2. I have already started the process of removing a majority of the names off the banned face claim list. This may be a bit taboo to some of you but at the end of the day we are not playing actors. We are playing characters and like it or not these people exist in real life. We will be leaving a few of them up but denying apps based on face claims will be based on a case by case basis. Life isn’t fair sometimes.  3. AND LORD DO I MEAN THIS ONE. Moving forward I will have 0 tolerance for OOC drama. Any disrespect towards each others, or towards an admin will get you kicked. Any harassment towards each other, or towards an admin will get you kicked.  4. Some of you may have noticed that for a short time I disabled the Voice Chat feature in our Discord group. This was because of the fear that some might have had that it was causing cliqueness and bubble RPing. You’ll also notice I’ve brought it back. This is because the Voice Chat feature is open for EVERYONE. There are some people who really enjoy it and some people who don’t. Don’t like it? Don’t use it, but I’m not going to take it away from the people who do. And if you’re having a problem feeling like you’re not fitting in please message us off of anon. Any anons complaints about discord will be trashed because I can’t help if I don’t know who you are.  5. This kind of goes along with 4 but basically just addresses threads on the dash and starters. The reply to 2 before you do you rule is STILL IN EFFECT. That’s not changing. Just gotta do it. If you’ve been in the RP for more than 3 days the rule now applies to you. If you’re picking up a second character and it’s their first day, the rule still applies to you. Make sure you’re checking for starters with fewer than 5 notes. The amount we have buried in the tag right now is unacceptable. I want this place to be relaxed but I need you guys to work with me so I don’t have to start rolling out consequences for simple shit.  6. Communicate with each other. Be respectful. If you’re going to drop a thread because you aren’t feeling it, let that person know. Communication is always a two way street. If it’s been a few days and someone hasn’t responded, send them a quick “hey I was checking in to see how you’re feeling about our thread or if you want to try a new one?” Disappointment is a part of life but how we choose to deal with it is on us.  7. This is a place to have fun so lets try to do that. People lose muse when this starts to feel forced or like a job. I don’t want that for any of you. We’re all here to have a good time and enjoy and get really into some crazy ass plots so moving forward lets try to keep that in mind.
