The One Piece World Timezones [Fixed]
Okay, so I did a big WHOOPS. I thought the Grand Line is the equator. Someone in the notes pointed out that no, the Grand Line is not the equator and honestly, yeah, my fault for not going a bit deeper into my research.
Here is how the globe is and how the Grand Line goes. The blue thingy is I suspect the actual equator.
Tumblr media
The reasons I thought the Grand Line is on the equator is:
1) weather
2) natural occurences
3) map on the One Piece Wiki
Crazy shit happens in the equator in our world.
Here is how the Grand Line is positioned as told by Law.
Tumblr media
(source)
Now, let's fix the mistake. (Sighs)
And... ROTATE THE MAP.
Tumblr media
Here it is. I sighed many sighs while rotating this and maybe I cried a bit at getting everything 3 hours wrong and then cried some more that Dressrosa & Hawaii aren't in the same timezone bcs goddamn it, that fit, as did Mariejois.
But FINE. I'm doing this for all the Doffy x Reader writers, all the One Piece x Reader writers, all the One Piece fanfic writers, full stop. I REFUSE TO ALLOW MY MISTAKE TO BE A CURSE. I'll also edit the OG post and put this pic there so both posts have the correct one.
Okay, one more time, 100% correct this time:
Paradise:
Reverse Mountain [UTC -1]
Cape Valley [UTC 0]
Cactus Island [UTC 0]
Little Garden [UTC +1]
Drum Island [UTC +2]
Alabasta [UTC +3]
Island where Luffy Kicked Bellamy's Ass Vol 1 Jaya [UTC+4]
Skypiea [UTC +4]
The Arc I Skipped After Seeing It Became Filler Ring Long Island [UTC +5]
Water 7 [UTC +5]
I'm so sorry, Snail 😭
Ennies Lobby [UTC +6]
Florian Triangle [UTC +6]
Sabaody Archipelago [UTC +7]
Amazon Lily [UTC +7]
Impel Down [UTC +8]
Marineford [UTC +8]
Holy Land of Mariejois [UTC+8]
All the thematic representation of it being UTC +12, splash into the water 😭😭😭
Fishman Island [UTC +9]
New World:
New Marineford [UTC -8]
Punk Hazard [UTC -8]
Dressrosa [UTC -7]
Totto Land [UTC -5]
Wano [UTC -4]
Law vs Blackbeard Island [UTC -3]
Elbaf [UTC -3]
Weird that it's Elbaf that's Northeast, since shouldn't Law have gone there as his route? Maybe Kid lied and went there still after Law said Northeast is the quickest path, while Law took a detour onto Winner Island to fight Blackbeard.
Hachinosu (Pirate Island, Blackbeard's HQ) [UTC -3]
Egghead [UTC -3]
Even though Egghead's not shown on the map, Luffy went directly south from Wano, and by the line, the Sunny would have entered the UTC -3 zone.
Lodestar Island [UTC -2]
Calculating Guide:
From East to West
- if it's 17:00 (5 pm) in Marineford (UTC +8) and you want to know what time it is in Dressrosa, this is what you do:
1) (Current time in Marineford) - (UTC time number of Marineford) which is
17 (5pm) - 8 = 9 am (UTC 0)
2) now that you have UTC 0, you put another minus, this one from Dressrosa's UTC, which is UTC -7, so it goes
9 am - 7 = 2 am
So it's 2 am in Dressrosa, while it's 5 pm in Marineford!
From West to East
Say it's 22:00 (10 pm) on Saturday in Dressrosa, what time is it in Holy Land? Here are the steps.
1) (Dressrosa current time) + (Dressrosa's Timezone Number) = time at UTC 0
So that's:
10 pm + 7 = 5 am Sunday (UTC 0)
2) UTC 0 time + Holy Land Time Number
So: 5 am + 8 = 13:00 (1 pm) Sunday
So while it's 10 pm Saturday in Dressrosa and Doflamingo is conducting business with the Paradise part of the Grand Line, in the Holy Land, the ugly Celestials are eating lunch on Sunday or napping bcs they are freeloading cu- (censored) unlike Doflamingo who's actually working!
(looks at the maps of my previous timezone post) Okay. It's fine. I only missed Dressrosa by 3 hours. IT'S FINE.
(it's not fine, I'm crying, it's not FINE, my favourite island and I couldn't even get it right the first time, if Doffy turns me into a toy I deserve it)
I'll go climb the Red Line and jump off it. This is the greatest shame as a scientist. Wrong numbers.
A/N: Of course, if what the pic above said is true, it might as well could be that the original tinezone map I made is semi- correct and the entire territory up until Wano has a timezone from UTC -12 to UTC -9 if it's only the first third of the New World, as those are the "thirds" of the west timezones. I don't read the manga, but I'm caught up with the anime and if the manga does reveal a map, actual map like that curved one in the picture with Law or Oda finally makes one, I give the manga readers full permission to send it to me in an ask and I will update the posts again. For now, this is the most "official" map we have, and the most recent one. Also, the Grand Line being in the shape of a rollercoaster is fitting, haha.

The hyperfixation goes strong still, and I notice these little things yet again
Something I have definitely been thinking about more than I should is how well paralleled opening one is to the latest one, twenty
youtube
youtube
Memories lyrics:
When I was little, I had a vision of a treasure map
And I always searched for that miraculous place
Before someone else could beat me to it
If the world is going to change
Before I can even attain my dream
Then take me to the time when I knew nothing
So that my memories won’t fade
Dear sunrise lyrics:
How far I have run
Without knowing it, I counted scars
A treasure map in my head all along
Still looking for the future
The real promise
Lies much deeper in my heart
A dream that no one can catch up with
That’s all I hold onto
To you who smiles like the sun
I’ll sing the same song as that day
This wish I don’t want to forget even when I grow up
Until it reaches you
AND SO LIKE?? CAN WE JUST LOOK AT SOME THINGS HERE???
When I was little, I had a vision of a treasure map
A treasure map in my head all along
And I always searched for that miraculous place
Still looking for the future
If the world is going to change
Before I can even attain my dream
Then take me to the time when I knew nothing
A dream that no one can catch up with
That’s all I hold onto
…This wish I don’t want to forget even when I grow up
LIKE OKAYYY ONE PIECE ALWAYYYSSS GOING CRAZY WITH THE OPENINGS AND ENDINGS. TWENTY YEARS LATER, AND ITS THE SAME SINGER TOO
Also a note worthy mention
I’ll sing the same song as that day
Like she basically told us to go and relisten to the first opening
NOW NOT TO MENTION THE OPENING AS WELL!!!!
youtube
Uuuuus! Lyrics:
(All of us) us, us
(Dream save us) us, all of us
The end of a dream, the end of the sea
We all have different places we want to go
But first, we need
To make a shining legend out of ourselves
Sparks fly, no limit, this is where it starts
ONE PIECE!!
All of us, I ask you travelers
Are your dreams still pure?
Sleepless cells are shaken and burst
Still, all of us, in the middle of an adventure
All of us, I tell you travelers
No such thing as a pointless fight
When random contexts
Start to make sense on their own
The threads of time are spun back together
The world keeps changing along with us
(All of us) us, us
(Dream save us) us, all of us
Bare with me, the connections with this opening are going to take a little more thought, and they’re not as in line as the first two
Before I can even attain my dream
A dream that no one can catch up with
The end of a dream, the end of the sea
^ more lyrics that allude to the talks of dreams but don’t directly correspond to this
We all have different places we want to go
Sparks fly, no limit, this is where it starts
Are your dreams still pure?
If the world is going to change
The world keeps changing along with us
Until it reaches you
We all have different places we want to go
Still looking for the future
Still, all of us, in the middle of an adventure
Before someone else could beat me to it
No such thing as a pointless fight
I also want to point out some of the imagery paired with some of the lyrics from dear sunrise as well
Dear sunrise
How far I have run
It’s just Luffy, alone. It reminds me of marineford when he ran, and ran, and ran. He ran down six levels of impel down, he ran across marineford, he ran around dressrosa(ex while fighting doflamingo), he ran around alabasta(ex looking for the bomb), he ran around drum island(ex looking for a doctor for nami), he ran around shells town(ex looking for Zoros swords), around Arlong park(ex looking for nami and running away from fishmen), around skypiea and Jaya(ex around the ruins and to fight Bellamy for what he did to cricket), around water seven(looking for Robin), around thriller bark(looking for his shadow), around sabaody, in fact he ran away while there, he ran around it again, around punk hazard(away from Caesars pet), around wano(ex when he punched kaido in the face for blasting his friends and even Egghead(with vega punk) now
Without knowing it, I counted scars
Nami and Zoro appear as this lyric is sung, and two notable situations with them is when Nami stabs her arm and asks Luffy to save her, and when Zoro received the scar from his fight with Mihawk
A treasure map in my head all along
Here, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper appear. I think here it may not be talking about a treasure map. Ever since Usopp was young, he wanted to be brave, Sanji always wanted to find the all blue, and Chopper wanted to cure all illnesses. They’ve always wanted this, or in other words, wanted this all along
The real promise
Here Luffy, Zoro and Nami joining the crew, and their crux moments are shown. They also made promises to each other way back when, Zoro being that if he ever had to give up his dream for Luffy, that he’d kill him https://youtu.be/IkeM7XtILEA?si=uwO1zuCkbtlZoaEx (the last thirty seconds), and Nami in a reverse way, Luffy promising himself to her, that he’d always help and protect her, she’s his navigator, after all https://youtu.be/dM0tpzY8nFc?si=B7b3JPt9gW7k8uAS this is implied, but also said through the action of him putting his hat on her head
youtube
youtube
To you who smiles like the sun
Here the crew is shown, with Luffy front and center. I feel like it’s definitely directed towards him
This wish I don’t even want to forget when I grow up
Luffys strawhat is shown two times, along with his whole crew, it’s his physical, and it’s also explicitly said promse, he makes with Shanks that he’d get a crew every bit as good as his, and become king of the pirates https://youtu.be/fzoQZ2dJ4fk?si=Sk5MQ-Uv-o4VOU5i
youtube
And then, self indulgently if you’ve made it this far I just want to comment on two of my all time favorite lyrics from two different openings
From Uuuuus!
When random contexts
Start to make sense on their own
The threads of time are spun back together
I love this so so so much. I interpret it as saying, even if something has happened to you right now that you don’t understand, it will eventually. When something random, a random context, starts to make sense on its own, a connection is made, they’re spun back together
From Super Powers, opening 21
A future gently brings a morning
It shines on our silly but dear world
It’s just silly, I like it. Even if something is silly, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold its self substantially dear to you
Anyways, that concludes my essay!!! I was looking through other intros, and made I should do another even longer ass post that connects all the intros together.. because I certainly saw some connections in opening 21 to the points I made now even. Well, until the next time I feel like talking about the minor details of one piece I notice!!

uhhh thoughts on alabasta ratman sleep-deprived and weed fueled ace vs peak chad energy fuckboy prime wano ace?? like which one do you prefer, do you have any thoughts if he’d treat/think of luffy any different? in these two periods of his life?
(also ugh I adore both and there’s something special about alabasta ace who went after luffy to drum island, made sure everyone knew he would be waiting for luffy in alabasta, then went and sat there for 10 days with no other purpose but to wait for luffy. bc he just wanted to see him so so much. brocon alabasta ace is uhhhgggghh insane vibes but. there’s also something about wano graciously giving everyone big tits and a healthy layer of fat tissue on top of all that muscle. also the fact that portgas d “i hate when little children follow me around” ace willingly befriended and took care of tama. also promised her the same thing he promised luffy. idkidkidk I just like to think luffy was on ace’s mind 90% of the time, wherever he went, and he often just thought about him bc a lot of thinks reminded him of luffy. like things luffy would like, things he’d like to eat, things he’d find funny etc)
I thought this would be easy to answer but then I had like a whole essay typed up in my head. so. thank you for this ask, I have a lot of feelings about it apparently. 😂😂
they really do feel like 2 different characters, maybe bc Oda was still firming up the details of marineford/wano when Ace first appeared in alabasta? In any case it's always fun seeing which "version" of him fans lean into in fanart/fic/headcanons hahaha. like do they make him more scrungly and sleazy (but maybe also secretly doting)? you got yourself a greasy Ace fan. do they make him all upstanding and softly affectionate and soulful? wano ace wano ace wano ace
(a lot more rambling from here)
I have to admit...... and I'm ashamed to say it............... but I was only half-aware of Ace in Alabasta—like at that point, he was just another "wacky cool shounen guy" to me. It took Marineford breaking my brain down to its component parts and rearranging them for my full Ace brainrot to set in, and at that point he was closer to Ethereal Fridged Wife wano Ace, so I'd probably go with that one? God I do need to rewatch Alabasta tho, I feel like it'd be such a trip of fawning over greasy ratman Ace this time around ahahahah
I think it took until Marineford for me to really latch onto Ace bc it was outwardly like: Alabasta Ace: I'm cool Marineford Ace: I'm cool [ironic][hiding INTENSE self-worth issues]
I agree with everything you said though... I love wrinkly, wrung-out-to-dry Alabasta Ace and his devil-may-care coolness. His vibes of being just a bit more of a rebel than any of the Strawhats even, the thing that makes people cast him as a guitarist or artist in modern AUs. that fuckin,,,,, crouch/perching thing he does,,,, The WAITING... he's so understated with his devotion, like, this panel??
Tumblr media
he's trying to be so cool and older brother-y but really he just wants his little brother to visit him sometimes!!! he waited for luffy for 10 days when he's been prioritizing this mission over everything else, even being with his other found-family crew, and I just!!! sigh
"any thoughts if he’d treat/think of luffy any different" I so agree that Wano Ace is pre-Whitebeard Ace, meaning that even though he's presenting himself as independent and a leader/captain, there's a part of him that's still very angry and searching for acceptance. And yesss, bc of that he was probably holding his memories of Luffy so close all the time, seeing his brother who loves him in the innocent, trusting kid he helps, and unable to stop bragging about his brave little brother to the brash, impressive club-weilding guy he runs into.
meanwhile I feel like Alabasta Ace is actually more mellowed-out in his feelings toward Luffy, in a way? like idk, maybe—I might be completely off—but he's more secure in himself and his attachment to Luffy... or at least he tells himself he is. I just feel like that explains why he's shown to be so openly brag-y about Luffy in his Wano days, but seems way more laidback in Alabasta, haha (but the brocon devotion is still there, just better-hidden, lmaoooo) (and it gets ripped to the forefront during Marineford—he's forced to confront all that fear and attachment when he sees Luffy hurtling through the air toward him AH)
god tho. wano ace. wano ace and this gif
Tumblr media
the things. the things i want to do to this man. the morals i would abandon. unspeakable.
Tumblr media
and this???? him??????????????? sunkissed angel backlit like the once-in-a-lifetime love interest in a twee indie film???
yeah I... in summary, I feel like I have 60/40 preference for Wano Ace over Alabasta Ace, but really it's that mix of all those qualities that I like to bring in when i can.
(my secret third answer is Marineford Ace. the blorbo who started it all, lmao)

watching these new one piece fans trash talk Vivi by saying she did nothing and that she's worthless/useless is hella annoying. like, even besides the obvious misogyny,, bruh did we even watch the same anime???
vivi is the only reason why the straw hats were allowed onto drum island. even assuming the straw hats fought their way onto the island, there would have been zero chance of them finding out about the doctor since it was the villagers who told them about her in the first place. without that, nami would have died, and we all know how essential she is to finding the one piece. also chopper wouldn't have joined the crew
yes, vivi asked luffy's help to save alabasta, but so did nami with Coco village and so did literally so many other people. i don't see y'all trash talking them??? and who TF said asking for help is a sign of weakness/uselessness? putting aside your ego and acknowledging your shortcomings is a sign of a strong character, tf
the people of alabasta have FAITH in vivi. they listen to her and they love her, which isn't something that is easy to do. the leader of the rebel gangs is her childhood best friend. she has connections (not gonna spoil anything) and those connections are her strength because she can call upon her allies and they will. fucking. answer. that's not something your average Joe could pull off, bitch
vivi is painfully weak and she sucks at being an agent. even in baroque works she was the lowest rank,,, but take a step back to see the bigger picture: vivi is self aware that she can't do shit, and yet she was willing to risk her life to save her country. she was willing to throw away her morals, work for the enemy, risk dying a horrible death or worse, even though there was little to no chance of success. THAT is called determination. THAT takes guts. THAT is a quality that would make her a strawhat
literally EVERYTHING about vivi's past interaction with that celestial dragon shows how mature she is, how much responsibility she bears on her shoulders as a princess (mind you she's even younger than Luffy) and how she can stay brave even when she's terrified. we praise usopp for that, and I won't stand for these double standards
one thing that's slightly more subtle is the drum island scene where vivi shows Luffy that fighting isn't the only way to solve your problems. i feel like this impacted Luffy at least to a certain extent because he actually considers alternatives before fighting now. of course patience was taught to Luffy because of shanks (first chapter of the manga) but it really felt like vivi reinforced that to Luffy
and I'm not even gonna bother with the post wano stuff cause those are heavy spoilers but the point is she's fucking badass and awesome and important and y'all are only embarassing yourselves and making it obvious that you're new 'cause the real ones know and appreciate our desert princess
also wtf is y'all's problem with vivi when Luffy and the rest of the strawhats have already acknowledged her??? they fucking love her so much to the point where they'd dunk on zoro for showing her 'tough love'. I can't help but think it's the Sakura treatment and I will not let another kind girlie be judged to hell and back for her femininity and for "being weak/useless" when canon proves otherwise

One Piece being the verse in which I explore the interwoven dynamics in the Fujihara was not what I expected but seeing the power imbalance and struggle between Kiyomi and Mizuki and Suma is so interesting.
Because Kiyomi and Kiyoko are the eldest of all of the children. Kiyomi will always be the "head" of the family, the one who takes on the public role, the one who is more outspoken and her rule is God.
[ Naruto: Temporary head of the Fujihara, helped to solidify the Fujihara as a distinct member of Kirigakure's upper class, is killed in a fight against Afonya shortly before the end of the Second War
DC: Public head of the Fujihara Family, handles the public business & Gala events, handles the press, was behind the deaths of her parents.
Bleach: Joined the Academy after being placed into a Geisha House & had her reiatsu awakened, joined the Third Division shortly after, remained in the Third after Rose was "killed", after Gin, and then even after the TYBW.
One Piece: Current Captain of the Hebi no Kojaku Pirates with a several hundred million berry bounty, lost her arm to Malekai during Marineford, is notoriously known to be a dangerous swordswoman with a cursed blade, currently about to fight for her life. ]
Kiyoko handles everything in the shadows. She's the one actually in charge, here.
[ Naruto: Becomes the Head of the family after Kiyomi is killed by Afonya.
DC: Runs the family finances & handles all of the work in the shadows to continue their Weapon peddling
Bleach: Does not become a member of the Seireitei; she becomes the Head of the family.
One Piece: Left the life of Piracy at 23 to take over the Throne of Janoshima from Ayame. Is now the current sitting Empress of Janoshima. ]
Mizuki is, and always has been, the Wildcard. She's always been the Black Sheep. Regardless of the verse, her canon event is traumatizing and changes her onto a different path than her sisters.
[ Naruto: Abandons Kiri, becomes a member of the original ROOT Anbu for Konoha as a spy, is killed during the Second War.
DC: Goes off the rails as a teenager, goes down the Wrong Path, eventually rehabilitates but is used as muscle and the one that's sent out to Collect Dues & kill.
One Piece: Slaughtered her parents when she was 18 after they branded their children, went off the rails & left the family, took on the moniker of Deadman's Daughter, gained a devil fruit, joined Buggy's crew as a clown contortionist & an assassin for him, tried to kill Kiyomi during Marineford, failed, tried to kill Suma during the timeskip, failed, WANTS REVENGE. ]
Suma is the smartest. She's the youngest sibling. She's the one who was raised by her aunt for seven years. She was brought up in the propaganda that Daiyu and Daisuke created; this twisted, tilted world view that her siblings were all brought up in. Suma is the Outlier. It's why she will always end up on top, in the end.
[ Naruto: Ends up in the Mizukage's Council as the right hand, survives the longest out of her siblings.
DC: Goes to college to become a lawyer, shadows the legendary Gilda Dent ( Harvey Dent's wife ), becomes a damn good lawyer that continuously keeps her family out of trouble.
Bleach: Joins the Fifth Division as the third seat after Shinji returns, survives the TYBW with little injuries, remains as the third seat for the Fifth.
One Piece: Was raised by Ayame until she was seven as a Princess, was taught weaving by Ayame and court politics before being taken back by Daiyu & Daisuke to live for the next six years in fear, remains after Junpei and Mizuki leave to be a member of the Hebi no Kojaku Pirates for the next five years before Kiyomi attempts to kill her, she then jumps ship & swims to shore, survives on her own by jumping from civilian crew to civilian crew until she winds up at Drum Island with a crew that attempts to kill her, she kills them, steals their ship, manages to get to Alabasta. She ends up failing at pickpocketing Sanji thanks to Zoro noticing, gets dragged along and ends up fighting in a WAR TO SAVE ALABASTA?, joins the Straw Hats afterwards, has Fun, gets McBapped in Sabaody trying to protect Zoro, spends the next 2.5-ish years on Gravedigger Island with her new dad & sister, gets almost killed by Mizuki, rejoins the Straw Hats with a new moniker & bounty?? And has no idea that she's about to be a part of a very big, very not good plot in Janoshima???? ]
And Junpei-
The only boy. The Son. The one that Daisuke tried to mold into another version of himself and ended up creating such a broken image of, instead. Junpei will always. Leave. He will never stay. He will always devote himself elsewhere.
[ Naruto: abandons Kirigakure.
DC: Police Officer, refusing to be a member of the Fujihara Crime Family
Bleach: Went to the Academy at a young age, has been a member of the 6th since the day he graduated, has never gone home.
One Piece: Abandoned Suma instead of taking her & rescuing her when he was 20, joined the Marines, is now a Captain ( bordering on Commodore by the end of the Timeskip ), did not interfere in the execution of his aunt. ]

Hi there! Your recent enthusiasm for One Piece convinced me to give it a shot again, after a very long time. I started with that new live-action one, which was very enjoyable! And now I'm thinking to move on to the anime.
The thing is, the last time I attempted to watch it (a decade or so ago), I became intimidated by the amount of episodes and stopped. And now there are so many more!
All that to ask, do you have any favorite arcs/episodes? Or, if not favorite, ones you consider very important to the enjoyment of the series?
No pressure to answer, naturally. And let me just say your excitement and enjoyment of the series has been fun to see second-hand. 😁
Aww, thank you so much for sending me this, it made my day! (Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you, it's been a long week.)
There are SO many episodes!! It's definitely intimidating. I gave it a brief try before the Live Action came out, wasn't sure I wanted to invest that time and gave up. But after watching and LOVING the Live Action, I've tried again and really enjoy it!
That being said, my method of getting through long TV shows is just multi-tasking. I watch the dub (It's good!) and am usually doing a craft while watching or sometimes scrolling through tumblr, etc.
Other than that method, I know there is a fan-made cut of the show that removes a lot of the filler/redundancy and shrinks the run time significantly called One Pace, that gets recommended a lot, but I haven't tried it personally.
It is a bit of a hard show to skip around, imo, because a lot of the fun of it is the characters and their interactions and how they grow, plus a lot of minor characters appear in one arc and pop-up again later.
BUT if you were to eliminate episodes, here are what I'd consider the most important arcs, though I'm no means an expert.
(Here is a link to the wiki with a guide to the episodes)
-There are roughly 100 episodes of filler you can definitely skip, though that doesn't get rid of that much.
-If you want to skip what the Live Action covered, you can start with episode 48 and the Loguetown arc (48-53).
-The next few arcs introduce some minor characters we see again, but the next major arc that introduces a new Strawhat member is the Drum Island arc (78-91).
-It's long, but I would definitely recommend watching the next arc, Alabasta to get to know several reoccurring characters and the next Strawhat (92-130).
-It also goes on a while but the Skypiea arc introduces some important lore of the show (153-195)
-It's filler, but I ADORED the G-8 arc (196-206). Just funny hi-jinks that didn't feel like filler at all
-There's a few arcs in between you could skip but DEFINITELY watch Water 7 (227-263) and Ennies Lobby (264-312). There are parts that go on a bit long, but this was my favorite part of the show that I've seen so far and I know Water 7 is the favorite arc of many fans of the show. It condenses a lot of the best elements of it and is so fun to watch
-Thriller Bark DOES introduce the 9th Straw Hat, you can watch those episodes (337 and 338) but after that, I would go forward to Sabaody Archipelago (385-405) because it introduces some major plot points and characters and I feel like the positives of the Thriller Bark arc are outweighed by the negatives, imo.
-Impel Down has a lot of fun characters, but could be skipped and you could move onto Marineford (457-489). Definitely watch that to understand the story moving forward
-Post War Arc (490-516) is good to watch for Luffy backstory and what all the characters were doing during the time skip
-It doesn't seem like Fishman Island (523-574) really impacts the plot as a whole? (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong) So I think you could skip it.
-Punk Hazard (579-625) is fun and does set up the next arc (Dressrosa) so I might recommend watching that
I am watching Dressrosa (~Around episode 665 iirc) now so I can't speak past that! If anyone else sees this post, feel free to weigh in!
Thank you again for your kind message! ^.^ (I like your Dungeon Meshi icon - That's next on my list after I get through One Piece!)

One Piece Anime Watchalong: Alabasta Saga 4/5
Drum Island (Eps 78-91):
Started 30/7/23 Finished: 6/8/23
After their stay in Little Garden, the Straw Hats are off again towards the kingdom of Alabasta, and upon hearing the news that the kingdom could have more casualties, Vivi desperately wants to get there as soon as possible. However, Nami has fallen ill to a fever which, if not treated in time, could kill her. So they take a detour to Drum Island where they hope to find a doctor to cure her illness. The only doctor on the island is Dr. Kureha, often called a witch. Whilst the Straw Hats look for Dr. Kureha to save Nami, the country's former tyrannical king, Wapol, returns to take back his throne.
Now this is what I'm talking about! This is the OP that I was waiting to see again.
Firstly, I want to talk about Vivi. I liked Vivi beforehand, but I was just waiting for her to do something substantial at some point during this saga. Something that proves to us that she is befitting of being a princess, not in the damsel needing to be saved, but somebody with actual authority and agency in their own story. In this arc, we finally get that from her. We know that she needs to get back to her kingdom, and upon hearing that the coup has escalated further she desperate to get there as soon as possible. However, despite the gravity of the situation and Alabasta being her top priority, she still insists that Nami needs to see a doctor in order to progress to the next stage. Another moment that was very effective was when the crew arrive to Drum Island and they are threatened by the townsfolk to leave or else be gunned down. Vivi is shot, accidentally, in the arm by the townsfolk, but just as Luffy begins to recklessly attack them, Vivi stops him by using her words instead of violence to persuade them to let them on the island. In moments where Luffy can be so narrowminded in terms of protecting his friends from danger, to the point his point can only be conveyed by physical violence, Vivi's reasoning actually gets through to him and follows her example. This demonstrates that, even though she is separated from her kingdom, it doesn't diminish the influence she has on others outside of her royal duties.
But those moments where Luffy's philosophy about protecting his friends from danger really come into effect in this arc, it's so powerful. Even before that scene (which I will get to in a bit) we had him helping out the Lapins, giant sized killer rabbits. The Lapins are seen as obstacles for Luffy and Sanji in order to safely escort Nami to see Dr. Kureha at the top of the mountain. Even despite the trouble that the creatures caused for them, including starting an avalanche that further disrupts their plan by knocking Sanji out cold, when Luffy sees a baby Lapin struggling to save their parent from suffocating under inches of snow, he doesn't hesitate to help. Even if it wasn't necessary to help the Lapins for how much trouble they've caused him, even though passing on the opportunity to help them meant that he would reach the castle and treat Nami sooner, he still insists on helping the parent Lapin out of the snow. All without a single piece of dialogue being said. That was so powerful. But that's just the end of it, there's also the scene where Luffy climbs the pillar to get to the castle, with his bare feet and bare hands, in the blistering cold, and also carrying the weight of Nami and Sanji. It's not an easy task, even seen struggling as the cold catches up with him and even slips and his fingers and toes are bleeding against the tough cliff face. It was such a nail-biting thing to watch. However, despite everything that he has endured and the pain he inflicted, he is determined to get to the top, and it's with that determination that brings him all the way to the top. Luffy is just one of the best protagonists in all of anime and manga, for real.
Now, let's move onto what was probably the best thing about this arc: Tony Tony Chopper. I can't tell you how much I adore this little blue-nosed reindeer! In the first half of this arc, when he was with Dr. Kureha, he intrigued me with his design and form. I then heard what his voice and at that moment he was just adorable (same voice actor who does Pikachu in the Pokemon anime). The way he was so tsundere And then we get to his backstory... fuck, this destroyed me. Chopper being casted out by both his reindeer family and by human society just for eating the Human-Human fruit, him being saved by Dr. Hiriluk and Chopper forming his first ever connection with him, learning about Hiriluk's life goal of making the town's forest bloom with cherry blossoms, and then, when Hiriluk finds out that he doesn't have long to live, he regrettably pushes Chopper out of his life. But it was goddamn episode 86 that broke me, from Chopper, all battered and bruised from an unfortunate encounter with the leader of the reindeer pack, bringing back an Amiudake mushroom for Hiriluk to cure him of his disease, to Hiriluk's speech about when a man truly dies, that episode was the hardest I've cried at OP so far. After Hiriluk dies, he's taken into the care of Dr. Kureha, who taught him everything he knows about medicine. Their relationship bares similarities to Chopper's relationship with Hiriluk, in that it's that doctor/student dynamic, but unlike Hiriluk, Kureha lacks the warmth and whimsicality. She's a lot more direct with her diagnoses and her tone is more blunt from the outset. It may seem that she only took Chopper as an apprentice out of obligation to her late colleague, but under that cold expression, she does actually care about him, as she's the one who recounts his scarred past. After Chopper announces to her that he plans on joining the Straw Hats, Kureha is angered by this and proceeds to chase him out of the castle with an arsenal of weapons. This would normally have a damaging effect on his mental state, as it would trigger the trauma he has faced in the past, but having made friends with Luffy, who accepts him, not as a monster, but as a living thing with thoughts and feelings, it perhaps may be a little easier on him because, no matter what threats come his way, he at least has his friends to protect him from danger. Even though Kureha may not seem to care for what Chopper does, she does in fact care for him deep down, realising that he's growing as a person and accepting the fact that he wants to explore the world. She was probably expecting this to happen as well because, not wanting their goodbye to be sour, she plans one last farewell by bringing the cannons out from the arsenal room, pointing them up to the sky, and firing them to reveal that the powder loaded into the cannons was the formula Hiriluk had spent 30 years of his life trying to make. It results in a gigantic waft of pink smoke, that turns the white snowflakes into something that resembles pink cherry blossom leaves. Hiriluk's dream had finally been accomplished. What a beautiful ending.
If there was a low point to this arc, and it isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, but Wapol as a villain was kind of pathetic. Granted, this is supposed to be the point, and the fact that somebody that entitled and obnoxious could have the power to rule a kingdom can be terrifying (if Helmeppo actually succeeded in becoming a tyrannical leader after Captain Morgan), taking the twenty best doctors only for his own care and exiling the rest. In fact, this exemplifies the dichotomy between Wapol and Dalton, who served as former captain of the guards. Dalton having this crisis within himself about wanting to serve and protect the people, but having very little power to do so because he's at the hands of a king who only looks out for himself. But taking Wapol as a character at face value is probably the least interesting aspect of this whole arc. At least his Devil Fruit power was memorable in that goofy, almost macabre sense.
Other thoughts I had about the arc: that "To Be Continued" title card being written in the snow for a split second was so cool to me! Usopp and Zoro didn't get that much to do during this arc, but their interaction with each other throughout was pretty sweet, with my favourite being after being swept up by the avalanche, they both shared the exact same dream, which was pretty funny! I don't have too much to say about Dalton, but he was pretty cool, and him putting his ideals first and foremost, even to the point where he was willing to die for the safety of his people was really powerful.
So yeah, Drum Island is my favourite arc of this saga so far. So much about this arc is just absolutely wonderful, and while it may not all be perfect, it is still a massive highlight for the series. I'm looking forward to see how Chopper slots into the arcs and the stories going forward. Speaking of which, the next and final arc of the saga is the eponymous Alabasta arc. This arc is longer than any arc I've encountered so far, so bear with me if there's a gap in activity here, especially when I have real life stuff to deal with as well. I'll see you all next time!

Done with Drum Island, onto Alabasta we go~ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Note
They actually started on one route(Whiskey/Little Garden), detoured onto a second(Drum), and skipped over to a third via eternal pose (Alabasta and later). We haven't seen a single traditional route. Which is going to make Nami's mapping harder.
They've also haven't gotten 2 islands in a row since entering the New World. They got to Punk Hazard by Log Pose, but I don't actually know how they got to Dressrossa. Zou was a vivre card, Pekoms guided them to Whole Cake and... I assume another vivre card for Wano? It was kinda unclear.
Me minding my own business:
My brain: what about all the islands in the grand line and the other oceans that we never went?
Me tearing up: shut up.
When i found out the crew went in one of the many possible routes to get to the new world, i legit cried a little

Hi! Could you possibly do a platonic one shot with Sanji and the reader as his younger biological sister? If not that’s total alright^_^
Here you go, darling, hope you like it :)
Brother!Sanji x Reader (Platonic!)
Rules Word Count: 0.5k
Tumblr media
"(Y/N), your gonna get sick if you don't wear a coat." Your older brother gently scolded.
"I couldn't find any." You shrugged.
You watched as the snow fell from your view in one of the many castle windows. It reminded you of the rare moments it would snow at the Baratie when Zeff would close the restaurant early and open up the fins so you and Sanji could play in the snow. Patty and Carne usually joined in to help you build your snow forts. Zeff always sat inside, complaining when the four of you came in soaked from the ice.
"Well, I found one for you. Put it on, we don't need anyone else getting sick." He handed you the fur jacket that he held in his hands before coming up beside you, taking out a cigarette.
"Ok, mom." You joked as you slipped your arms into the coat. It was a little larger than you, but it sure was a lot warmer.
The cloudy Drum Island sky helped to darken everything. Maybe it would help Nami rest. You knew she'd be fine, but you were still concerned for her health. You assumed Sanji had caught onto it as he reminded you that a really good doctor was looking after her.
"You're right," You started, "I'm worrying over nothing."
He chuckled, "Just relax, she'll be better in a couple of days, and then we'll be on our way to Alabasta."
You nodded, "I wish I could bring something back for everyone at the Baratie, I bet Alabasta has all types of food they've never seen before."
You'd never admit to it out loud, but you were slightly nervous about arriving at Alabasta, there were probably going to be a lot of people after you and the crew once you landed there. What if there were too many to take on?
"Stop worrying about things you can't control," Sanji told you, catching on to your thought process again.
"Shut it, I'm allowed to be worried." You argued, playfully hitting his shoulder.
"Nothing's going to happen to you or anyone else in the crew, alright? I'll make sure of it." He assured you, blowing out smoke.
You didn't know what you'd do without your brother. You felt kinda bad. Sometimes it felt like you weren't doing enough for him. He does so much for you and all you can offer is someone he can confide in from time to time.
Lucky for you, that's all he needs. The two of you work perfectly together. You're a familiar face Sanji can come to when he wants to ramble about his newest crush or your shared family trauma, and he can pretty much read your mind when you're anxious, always knowing what to say to calm you down and make you feel better.
A loud crashing sound from downstairs made you both look away from the window. Small avalanches could be heard in the corridor down on the first floor.
"What was that noise?" The blond questioned, walking over to look over the railing.
"I betcha 100 Beli it was Luffy." You giggled, striding over beside him.
You stared down at the snow-covered floor, watching as Luffy ran around carelessly with Chopper. Everything was going to be alright.

Hi! How u doing? It me again uwu
Loving ur fics really, they making my day better 😄💕💕💕
Can I have Zoro with propmts #3 and #9 ? Preferable with female reader!
Thank u for ur time
authors note : hello once again ! <3 im so very glad you’re enjoying my work ;; and sure can do ! i hope this is alright enough , it takes place during drum island <3 + sorry im replying so late ..! also i couldn’t think of a way for the reader to ask to borrow a sweater , so .. i just used the ‘ it’s huge on me ‘ prompt , mainly ;; but i hope it’s okay , still !
Zoro x F! Reader ,
“ Wow! It’s huge on me. “
You couldn’t help but jitter from the frost that bit at your skin. Even with such a thick sweater on, you couldn’t help but jitter. It was an odd change of pace. As of late, you and the crew had been in warm climates, places that don’t even rain too often. So, suddenly being dumped into the abyss of a purely snow and iced over island was effective, to say the least.
Your breath fanned out infront of you, each pant that escaped your lips puffing into a visible cloud, thanks to the freezing air. You hated this scene of endless cold but it was for Nami.. You’d endure anything for her, she was your friend.
“Are you okay?” A raspy voice struck your thoughts, cutting off the ties within your head. It was Zoro’s voice. You, him, Usopp and Vivi had been trying to assist the locals and what not, doing the best you could to contribute to the island and overall journey. Yet, you and Zoro were outside in your lonesome, as Vivi and Usopp were fetching you all some things to assist with the cold climate.
You gave Zoro a small smile, your teeth almost chattering from the chills that spiked your skin.
“I’m okay, no need to worry about me, Zoro-kun.” Your lips stayed shaped out into a smile but it didn’t help hide too much. Your nose was nearly stained red from the cool air that was consistently being thrown into your faces. You sniffles ever so slightly. Hopefully you wouldn’t come down with a cold... with Nami being sick, you’d hate to fall ill as well, further interfering the voyage to Alabasta.
Zoro gave you a rather skeptical glare, one of his moss shaded brows throwing itself upwards, his permanent frown full of questioning. You were bad at lying. No person who’s ‘fine’ within weather would be shaking as badly, arms wrapped tight around yourself.
With a sigh, he removed his large parka, revealing his usual white shirt. The blue hue of the parka stayed within his tan hands but only for a moment before Zoro propped the thick jacket onto your shoulders, draping it over you.
“Wait, Zoro-“ You wanted to object, warn him about the risk of a cold or the possibility of frost bite. But Zoro was an ignorant man, one who didn’t listen to the orders of others often.
“ ‘M fine. You clearly need it more then me. We don’t need two sick women on our ship.” Zoro sighed, clipping up the sewn buttons of the parka, letting the pink sweater you were wearing vanish as the large jacket Zoro had gifted you hid it away.
You looked up at him as he finished buttoning the jacket. Your cold features crisped with a harsh blush, but with how red you were to begin with, it was unnoticeable. He was so close... It was strange to see Zoro being so upfront when it came to caring, you never took him as a care taker type.
“Well, i suppose i cant refuse your gracious offer..” You muttered before giving Zoro a goofy smile, giggling weakly. “It’s so big on me.. i look silly.”
Zoro rolled his eyes, his cheeks growing red to the point of resembling a ripe apple. Why were you always so cute? You were definitely the cutest woman Zoro had ever met..
“I’d rather you look like a dumbass over you getting frost bite,” Zoro sighed heavily before averting his gaze, “And i don’t think you look silly, it’s cute, almost.”
Your eyes glistened in amusement from the sudden praise. You were in shock, staying as still as a block of ice. Did the Roronoa Zoro call you cute? What a shock! You never expected to hear such a thing from a stone faced man like him...
You offered him a coy smile and reached downward, taking Zoro’s large hands within your own, twirling your fingers together to interlock.
“Would you mind if i helped you warm up your hands?” You gave him the brightest smile you could muster.
If your smile was the sun, it would be beaming enough light to melt the harsh snow that laid upon the fields of Drum Island.

Not a request but what tattoo do you think each straw hat would get and where? (Besides nami of course)
Oooh, I like this questionnn :D
Okay, so. Hm. That’s interesting.
-
Monkey D. Luffy 👒: Jolly Roger / I believe he’d get it on his chest, right where the scar is. However, if Luffy wanted the scar to remind him of that war, than he’d most likely have it on his back, the same spot Ace has his Whitebeard mark.
Roronoa Zoro ⚔️: Honestly, I would totally say his swords, just three swords in a certain design, but, I really believe he’d have a dragon tattoo. Like those Yakuza / Mafia type of stuff? But I do love that picture of Zoro having cherry blossoms on his back— / For sure his back. Or like, maybe his upper neck, down his collar bone to his arms?.. nah. I think his back, lol.
God Usopp 👓 : Either the Sniper King mask, giant slingshot, or the either of the words, ‘Brave Warrior of The Sea / Mighty Usopp’ / I believe he’d have it somewhere on his arm like Nami, or maybe the back of his hand, y’know? Or maybe his ankle. Idk.
Vinsmoke Sanji🍴: Women. Ooh, hard one. Honestly, maybe have a tattoo of Zeff’s wooden leg ( forgot what it’s called ) because it’ll be in memory of Zeff? Or some knives crosses together in a crossbone way. / Sanji would have it smaller, and have it somewhere on his hip/waist or perhaps even somewhere on his calf / ankle.
Tony Tony Chopper 🍬: Cotton Candy or Cherry Blossoms to represent Drum Island and Doctorine. / Somewhere on his chest or arms.
Nico Robin 🌸 : Flowers / she absolutely would have it on her upper chest, where her ample bosom is, like her collar bone area?— or perhaps on her hip, her waistline just where her skirt ties around her in her New World outfit after the 2 year TimeSkip.
Cyborg Franky 🤖: God, idk man. He’d have cola bottles or maybe some carpentry tools from his life at Water Seven. / Absolutely would have it printed onto his chest though, just because it’s his most exposed area.
Soul King Brook 👑 : He doesn’t even have skin to print the tattoo on, Idk if you can tattoo bones— He’d have a either a violin with maybe some musical notes, or he’ll have a whale in memory for Laboon. / He’d have it printed on the back of his clothes, or on the chest pocket area of his shirts. If he did have skin and wasn’t all bones, I believe he’d have it on the back of his neck or his collar bone.
Vivi Nefertari 🦆 ( is that a duck? < ) : Absolutely would have the “X” from Alabasta in memory of her friendship with the Straw Hats. / Obviously on her wrist like in Alabasta. :))
-
I didn’t include Nami nor Jinbei because they already have tattoos, and I included Vivi because I love her, and I wanted to include the X. :D
This was actually a fun question, haha. It was a bit difficult but then again, this is my opinion.
Let me know what you think. You agree?

THE ONE PIECE DIARIES
All right. I'm finally sitting down to reflect back on the Drum Island arc. And a lot happened, so I'm going to break this into at least two parts.
Part One: Vivi
Episode Count: 90
This was a really good arc for Vivi. We're getting closer to her home, and she's feeling more and more princess-like as we get closer to Alabasta. There's a lot more weight to her character, what with that weight of responsibility she has, getting more desperate to save her kingdom as news of things back home just keeping getting worse. It already feels like a million years ago that she was Miss Wednesday, just another goofy Baroque Works villain.
But I'm already getting kind of sad that she's definitely going to have to leave this crew once this Alabasta adventure is over, because I'm liking her more and more. (I can't be the only one whose heart melted a little when she prioritized Nami's health over trying power through straight to Alabasta.) She's not particularly powerful, but she's brave.
And I feel like she brings a different perspective to the group. They've all been through some shit, but she feels more experienced than the others. Vivi telling Luffy he's not fit to be captain, when he was trying to brute force his way into being allowed onto the island-- when being turned away literally would have meant Nami's death-- was a really powerful moment. It felt really harsh... but it also needed to be said. And it was super satisfying to see Luffy acknowledge the error he made instead of getting defensive and lashing out. I know I've said it before, but I love how much he respects his friends and how aware he is of the different strengths they bring to the crew.

Game Blondes: Tekking101 One Piece Isekai Adventure!
“Hey I’m Blonde!”
“...I’m also Blonde.”
“AND WE’RE THE GAME BLONDES!!”
Tumblr media
Game Blondes Logo by @game-overture
One Piece Isekai Setup created by Tekking101 and found here:
https://youtu.be/zHInvsopBtQ
“Wait this isn’t a video game.” Samus pouts.
“The show’s called “GAME Blondes” not Video Game Blondes, that means any game is fair… game!” Cynthia cackles. “And today we’re doing the One Piece Isekai Adventure Game created by Tekking101!”
“I don’t know who that is.”
“That’s fine!” The Champion nods. “We’re going to roll some dice to determine how and where we get sent into the One Piece world and what goal we have to achieve in order to come back to our own world. They’ve made some reference tables to show everything about our situation and we’re gonna make little stories based on them!”
“Okay, sounds simple enough.” Samus flicks one of the dice around. “So what’s first?”
“First the Isekai Fairy comes to take you away! As per the rules the Isekai Fairy is extremely attractive for some reason and is your ideal type of attractive person. For me they look like Dawn.”
“Okay that’s strange, I guess my fairy looks like Tifa.” Samus shrugged.
“Fair enough! Now the fairy lets you get hooked up with your starting gear!”
Tumblr media
“You get to take what you’re wearing, plus two sets of clothing and one free set of winter clothing in case you end up somewhere cold, though they have to be extremely unfashionable.”
“That seems unnecessary but given I’m weak to the cold I’d better take it.”
“You get a backpack to carry this stuff in and also arrive in perfect health, get 1 million starting beli ($9,500) and one object of your choosing.” Cynthia read down the list. “So you gotta choose something to take with you, it’s one thing and most kinds of electronics and stuff won’t work. Though pets are allowed.”
“Guess I’ll take my arm cannon since I don’t think my whole suit would fly here, and the basic laser of the arm cannon works off my own energy instead of external missiles or power sources.”
“And I’m taking Garchomp, if pets count that must mean pokemon do too!”
“But if Garchomp is one object doesn’t that mean you can’t take its pokeball?”
“… fuck, so I gotta walk around the One Piece world with a giant sand shark following me everywhere… well they’ve seen worse so I guess it’s fine, it’ll work for the intimidation factor at least and keep people off my back.”
-Cynthia’s Inventoy-
1 Million Beli, Large Backpack, Champion Coat Outfit, Summer Blouse Outfit, Hideous Plaid Winter Clothes, Garchomp
-Samus’s Inventory-
1 Million Beli, Large Backpack, Zero Suit, Workout Clothes, Neon Pink Winter Clothes, Arm Cannon
“Okay so we’re ready to go, got our starting gear, we’ll get a bonus item once we arrive but first we have to decide where we arrive at.”
“Fuck, the One Piece world’s huge, how do we do that?” Samus blinked and tilted her head.
“More reference tables! We roll a die to determine the region we end up in and then another to determine the exact island, let’s check out those tables.”
Tumblr media
Cynthia’s Result: 2
Samus’s Result: 6
“So I’m in the South Blue, the buttfuck nowhere of the One Piece world, and you’re in the New World, the hellish crime-littered frontier of the current storyline. We arrive at the same day the One Piece story starts so none of the events have happened yet but we do retain our knowledge of their events. Now to find the islands we’re going to!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cynthia’s Result: 5
“I’m in the Black Drum Kingdom, a snowy desolate area that Wapol will eventually come to rule after Luffy kicks him out of the Non-Black Drum Kingdom. For now I guess it’s up for sale though since he only becomes King of it by getting lots of money so I might have a shot at ruling it before he does.”
Samus’s Result: 11
“You land on Applenine Island, a land neighboring the country of Dressrosa ruled tyrannically by Donquixote Doflamingo. I don’t know much about it except the terrain and houses look like Apples but it’s probably a short hop over to Dressorosa if you feel like going over there and making some connections.”
“You said something about a bonus item once we arrived?”
“Yes! For this one we roll a D100 and get an extra potentially useful, potentially useless item to add to our inventory. Let’s see what we get!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cynthia’s Result: 38
“A fishing rod with line, tackle box and bait. Well I’m pretty good at fishing up Magikarp so that might come in handy, though I don’t know how good the fishing is on the Black Drum Kingdom, maybe ice-fishing or something…”
Samus’s Result: 42
“A bag with EXACTLY 37 green apples.”
“WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THE APPLES!?” Samus pounded her hand on the table. “I get warped to appleburg with a bag of fucking apples!! Is this rigged!?”
“It’s all random I swear, the apples of chance just seem to favor you.”
“Ugh, I don’t know how I’ll put that to use… what’s next?”
“Well before we get our objective and figure out or paths in this world, we have to look at… the risk table!”
Tumblr media
“You don’t have to roll it if you don’t want but you have a 50/50 shot of getting a fair boost or a horrendous hindrance to your goal.”
“Ehh fine why not, there’s no apple-related choices so what’s the worst that could happen.”
Samus’s Result: 7
“A Yonkou wants you dead.”
“FUCK.”
Cynthia’s Result: 2
“And I get to bring a family member or friend! Considering most of my family are either young or elderly and I’ve already counted pokemon as pets for the sake of this game, I’ll bring a friend! You’re already having your own adventure so I guess I’ll pick Zebes, never know when a Tentacle Metroid might come in handy around here.”
“Which Yonkou wants me dead? Like if it’s Shanks I may be able to get away from that but if it’s Kaidou like Doflamingo works for him and he’s right fucking next door.”
“Let’s roll another dice to see! There’s no reference table for this one but considering it’s pre-timeskip we’ll go with 1 is Whitebeard, 2 is Kaido, 3 is Big Mom and 4 is Shanks.”
Samus’s Result: 4
“And it’s Shanks.”
“…okay, still not great but Shanks has a small crew and doesn’t seem to personally go out hunting a lot so I might be alright.” Samus breathed a small sigh of relief.
“And now last but not least the Objective Table! This will be your goal to achieve so you can get sent back to your own world and consider the challenge successful.”
Tumblr media
Cynthia’s Result: 7
“I have to meet a Straw Hat, specifically meet a Straw Hat while they’re on the crew. That’s not going to be easy, I know where they’ll be but they never come to the South Blue so I’ll have to go out and find them/intercept them somewhere along their journey, meaning I’ll have to go out and find my way into the grand line, this might be tricky…”
Samus’s Result: 2
“I have to Walk on a Sky Island? I mean I guess there’s a lot harder goals out there but I don’t know where the nearest place to find one would be.”
“Okay, the stakes are set, let’s make our Isekai Stories!!”
Cynthia arrives in the South Blue in the Black Drum Kingdom, with a bit of money to her name, some clothes, a Garchomp and a tentacle blob. Needless to say the townspeople are all terrified of the woman that wears hideous plaid snowgear and controls strange creatures to do her bidding but with her trusty fishing rod and the hunting of her two partners she’s able to gather some supplies, some semi-frozen fish and a few other trinkets and uses some of her money (as well as some she earns by selling some of the fresh caught fish, doing tricks with Zebes and Garchomp as a street show and various odd jobs the team of three can do for the townspeople that aren’t scared stiff of her) to book passage on a sailing ship, the goal in her mind of meeting one of the straw hat crew.
By the time she makes it to the last island in the South before the Grand Line, working up the money and supplies as well as travel has taken her over a month and murmurs of Luffy’s first bounty arise. The exact timeline is sketchy but he seems to have already beaten Arlong and is heading for the Grand Line. Judging by the timeline and how difficult it seems to buy passage on a ship heading towards the Grand Line, she’s a little bit behind Luffy and will have to find a place to make up some time.
Luckily thanks to her One Piece knowledge she knows the Straw Hats do make a few detours coming into the Grand Line, and where they’ll be spending a lot of time: Alabasta. Using the remainder of her money and some intimidation thanks to her dragon friend, she is able to buy her way onto a ship running supplies into the desert country. They have an eternal pose pointing to Alabasta and as long as the trio catch lots of fish for the crew to eat, they’re welcome to stay on until they meet their destination.
Making a straight shot from the South Blue up Reverse Mountain and to Alabasta takes a good while but Cynthia, Garchomp and Zebes arrive in the desert country where the two creatures feel right at home and Cynthia has just enough money left over from fishing that she can buy herself a desert dancer girl outfit and a horse to make it to Rainbase, the luxurious casino town where Warlord Sir Crocodile is stationed and where the Straw Hats will arrive eventually.
Cynthia stakes out the casino day and night, getting a small part time job as a waitress there to keep an eye on things until the Straw Hats inevitably arrive, assured that none of her prior actions have changed the One Piece timeline and altered the Straw Hat pirates’ path. Eventually she hears the uproar of Luffy making a scene, screaming that he will kick Crocodile’s ass. She heads over to the commotion to jump in, and just misses Luffy running past, though she collides with an equally scantily-clad dancer girl: Nami.
“Hey, I’m Cynthia.” She gives a sly wink as her face is buried in the desert-clad navigator’s chest.
And thus her mission is complete in more ways than one.
“So you buy your way into a slutty waitress job and dive into Nami’s cleavage to win?”
“I mean luckily we don’t have very combat-oriented goals here so it’s probably mostly buying our way from place to place.
“Well I guess I’ll have to see what I can come up with…”
Samus enters the New World on Applenine Island, carrying a back of apples and her arm cannon while wearing her zero suit. Far from able to just do things on her own or in a group like Cynthia, Samus has also somehow incurred the wrath of Red-Haired Shanks, one of the Yonkou that rules the New World. Acting quickly, Samus uses some of her starting money to book passage to Dressrosa, led by Warlord Donquixote Doflamingo. She allows herself to be captured by them while sneaking into the castle of the Young Lord Doflamingo, claiming that Shanks wants her dead and the best place to protect herself is under the wing of another Yonkou, Doflamingo’s Master: Kaido of the Hundred Beasts.
Intrigued by her strange weapon and the idea that the mild-mannered Shanks wants this random woman dead, Doflamingo keeps her around but fails to see why he should bring her to Kaido. Thinking of a scheme, Samus tells him a quick lie: the reason why Shanks wants her dead is because she knows the location of the Ancient Weapon Pluton, it’s location? A sky Island.
Little is known about the Sky Islands by the surface dwellers but Doflamingo is in the know enough to at least confirm their existence and the legitimacy of the usually mild-mannered Shanks wanting her head combined with a few other predications she makes about the rise of Straw Hat Luffy and certain other world events lay credence to her claims, Doflamingo starts to believe there may really be an Ancient Weapon hidden among the clouds where no one else can see.
Having already been in talks with Kaido thanks to the Smile Devil Fruit trade, Doflamingo sweetens the deal by offering Kaido the woman that knows more than she lets on, the enemy of Shanks and supposedly the keeper of an Ancient Weapon. More than happy with this and her seeming ability to predict the future as more months pass, Samus is taken to Onigashima on Wano to forcefully become a member of Kaido’s crew. He doesn’t seem ready to embark to the Sky Island just yet but he finds the insight and story she tells to be rather interesting, until one thing seals the deal: Shanks arrives at Onigashima’s gate to demand to kill Samus.
Fascinated by the fact that Shanks would show up in person and risk clashing with another Yonkou just to kill this woman, Kaido decides that her story must be true. Having already thrown himself off a Sky Island or two for kicks, Kaido decides to take her to the nearest one: the Balloon Terminal not far from Wano in the New World. The Beast Pirates decide not to fight Shanks right away, opting to make a break for it and destroy Shanks’s fleet with ease once they have Pluton as not to rack of casualties. Kaido personally leads Samus to the Balloon Terminal under the promise that she’ll be able to pinpoint Pluton’s location once she arrives In the sky.
Shanks gives chase, sinking may of Kaido’s ship in his oddly single-minded approach to killing Samus. Eventually he makes his way to Kaido’s flagship and a clash between the giant dragon god of Wano and the Red-Haired powerhouse begins. The sky splits above them and both incur injuries, Kaido taking heavy damage and eventually retreating, using his Dragon Devil Fruit to fly Samus high into the air, up to the clouds and screaming that he’ll come back down for Shanks once he has Pluton.
“Who said anything about Pluton?” Shanks asks, but too late to reach Kaido’s ears.
Kaido lands on the Sky Island of the Balloon Terminal and lets Samus off his back, transforming back into a human and demanding that the bounty hunter tell him where Pluton is NOW so he can go back and crush Shanks.
However as soon as her feet touch the cloud-like ground of the Sky Island Samus’s goal is complete and a wry smirk crosses her lips. “Goodbye, and by the way, I hate Dragons. Have an Apple” She says, tossing an apple to him as she disappears back to her own world, the great dragon emperor realizing all too late that he’s been duped and is at war with a fellow emperor, wounded and stuck on a floating cloud feeling much like the lost balloons stuck under it.
“Well that was fun, got to con a Yonkou and ride a giant dragon demon thing.” Samus smirked, fiddling with the dice. “That was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it’d be.”
“See? Told you it’d be fun! Well now that we’ve got everything sorted out and our One Piece Isekai Adventures are complete, guess we’ll see you…”
“Next time on Game Blondes!!!”

hi! can i request a continuation prompt of the lami lives AU if they're still open? lami finds thatch bleeding out and saves him from his fate and/or stops/joins ace's hunt for blackbeard (in which we mostly see them bickering, probably). i totally understand if this isnt your thing! ty regardless
“You brought us to Alabasta on purpose,” Lami hisses, trying to push her hair back from where it’s plastered to her forehead by sweat. It’s hotter than hell and she can feel how she’s dehydrating. “You ass.”
“Teach is suppose to have come this way,” Ace insists, because he’s made of fire and can’t feel how the sun is pounding down on him. “We missed him in Drum and this is the next real island.”
“And it has nothing to do with that message that you left. Nothing at all.”
Ace smirks, turning just enough for her to catch a glimpse of his face as he speeds up again, the asshole!, “Nothing at all to do with trying to catch up with my little brother.”
It’s been so many years now and the words my brother still make Lami’s heart break because she doesn’t have one anymore. At least, not unless that picture in the paper and Ace’s comments about an old friend who had her scars meant more than she let herself hope.
“Of course. Not like I had to stake out your Striker for days or you would have fucked off after Teach alone.”
“I’m not fighting you on this, Lami. I’m the commander, it’s my duty, even if Pop’s thinks that I’m not strong enough.”
Lami slams her hand onto Ace’s back, regretting it because it feels like his skin is a bubbling fire, “Shut your fuck. Pops thinks you’re plenty strong. He’s just worried, you idiot. Teach almost killed Thatch for something as fucking stupid as a Devil’s Fruit. Can you imagine what that fucker is planning?”
“Like he could take us.”
“If you get us killed, you can’t flirt with my father figure and I can’t make increasingly distressed faces as you try to see if he’ll kiss you.”
“I’ll have you know,” Ace says, standing straighter and smirking. “Marco has done more than kiss me.”
“I will break your face, he is my father figure! He basically raised me, please Ace.”
“You spent twenty minutes flirting with the two Revolutionaries when we were in Saboady and that Penguin hat dude when we were on vacation, and that fucking marine when we raided that base. Not to mention-”
“Just because I’m not a silly romantic who falls in love at first sight and sighs longingly at a man that you think would never look at you twice, doesn’t mean that I can’t have a lot of fun.”
“This is why Marco never comes to the bar with us.”
Lami rolls her eyes, “he came drinking with us just before we left. And you had fun there, because I was dragged out the bar with my eyes covered.”
“I kissed him once!” Ace hisses elbowing her hard as a marine moves past them. “And your eyes were covered because Kingdew was pantsing people.”
“I can accept that, I don’t want to see any of you naked beyond the medical exams,” she pauses. “I don’t want to see any of you naked. Ever. Do you know the kinds of things we get in medical?”
“Splinters in dicks?”
Lami stops, “What?”
“Do you not?” Ace asks in confusion. “I know at least three people who have mentioned that recently.”
“We have to go home now, I have people to murder.”
“They’re in Izou’s division.”
They both stop as something explodes, Lami’s elbow slamming into Ace’s side.
“I didn’t do it!”
“It’s an automatic response,” Lami hisses frowning at the explosion. “Ideas?”
“That might be my younger brother.” Ace admits slowly, shifting his hat back. “Might be.”
“Might be?”
“Okay, no. That’s definitely Luffy, I know that hat.”
Lami sighs as Ace starts moving faster, of course explosions ran in the family. Why couldn’t Ace have normal siblings?
