How absolutely wild must it have been for Nightmare to have like, minimum-to-no contact with mortals for hundreds of years and then the first two he has any regular close interactions with are Killer and Dust.
Like he must have a book in his castle somewhere of all the observations he kept like he was studying a new species
#UTDR#UTMV#Nightmare Sans#Killer Sans#Dust Sans#I could probably ramble for a while about the effect Killer had on him alone#But imagine being hurt by the world and carrying the grudge for hundreds of years while you wreak havoc all by yourself#And then you get one (1) roommate and he's so strange and unhinged but not at all what you expected#And then you get a second and he's so different again it's like they're different creatures even though they came from the same root world#And you get a third and he's a little more grounded but still has such wild needs and stipulations#By the time he got Cross he was probably onto his 3rd book of observations#If you dig around in Nightmare's library or office long enough I just know you can find at least one book where he's noted down what all hi#boys need and like and hate and what they refuse to do and how to handle them#Like someone leaving super detailed instructions for the care of their pampered beloved pet#Anyway Killer loves to joke to the other 3 that they should be nice to him because he ''let Nightmare adopt them''#and he's not entirely wrong#Anyway I need to go to bed so I can work all day tomorrow (rip) goodnight gang!!

guys I just survived a ladder that wanted to kill me. cheers
#context- I work odd jobs in film production a lot. I recently picked up a new part timer filming high school football games#this particular one was an hour and a half away so needless to say I was already mentally preparing for a LOT#and I got there and the spot where they wanted me was on the ROOF of the press box. which I knew beforehand#what I did NOT know beforehand was that the only way up or down was a ladder that pops down from said roof#which would’ve been okay but I was carrying three equipment bags like a pack mule#so I climb the ladder and even that was fine until the top step#I faceplant straight onto the roof because there is a barrier that’s like a foot long between the ladder step and the roof floor#so. rough start. but the view is great and once I’m up there it’s kinda fun#until. UNTIL. I wanted to go pee because again. hour and a half drive to get there.#said barrier made it so you have to climb down to get to the ladder step and railing and I pissed around playing chicken with that thing for#for an HOUR playing chicken because I could not fucking handle it#so I get through the first half okay but decide that I’m booking it to the bathroom the second halftime starts#and I forced my fat arse over the ledge and I figured out a grip on the trapdoor thing that helped keep me from falling#and I felt like I’d just made a person break cause like. I genuinely was not sure how the fuck I’d make it down for a bit#after that? might’ve been the high of Doing The Scary Thing but the rest of the time I had fun#I got a nice coach in the press box to help grab my bags as I handed them to him so I could climb down to leave#drove an hour in pitch darkness on country roads to my boss’s house to drop off the footage then 20 minutes home and now#and now I think I could sleep forever and ever but I fuckin did the thing

Officially starting Chapter 65 of Empire of Storms!
… I have a little less than 100 pages left in the book… I’ve got bonus chapter/chapters for after (to hopefully give me some consolation) and Tower of Dawn at the ready (actually looking forward to it quite a bit)!..
I may have cried wolf before but I’m prepared this time (got my books, got 20 days worth on renewals, got my dog who has been informed to follow in its ancestors footsteps & comfort me like Fleetfoot😂, All Too Well TS tissues at the ready to bawl my eyes out, my favorite kind of tea (okay so I guess that one’s just thanks to Kroger re-stocking), blankets and warm lighting, a whole day off from work (the first and only for a hot minute & the following days to come), and introvert time to read my book in peace… or distress… idk😅) and as much as I love these books and never want them to end, it’s been months and it’s time to know what happens and enjoy every second of it… hopefully😅😅 re-reads may be kinder 2nd time around😂🤣 so — ITS TIME — we shall see how much reading gets done today between the emotions of whatever the heck is about to happen, but EoS ending shall be occurring in T-Minus sometime in the next 12 hours. Probable spam to follow? We’ll see 😅😅😂🖤😁

i'm so glad that keeping production art is much more common within the gaming industry now because i'm utterly enthralled not only by the preservation of people's work and old ideas that might be revisited one day, but by imagining what some of these ideas might have been used for and if there's any traces of them left in the final product. it's the type of information you won't get from a dime a dozen cut content youtube video, but instead what you can reasonably draw a connection between based on what's in-game, and what you can only speculate on and i know that there's so much more we never get to see so i'm constantly left wondering, "what else are we missing out on that wasn't considered worth compiling, and will it ever surface one day?"
#i keep going back to the dmc5 official art works pdf i have because an english translation wasn't available at the time#i absolutely love the art that's featured in there and the process that this work goes through and what methods each artist uses#to communicate their ideas#but then there's the choice not just of what ideas to show the viewer but how much 'usable' art of it exists#usually the unused monsters just have one image in a bigger compilation#but kelpie appears several times across two different pages#she (?) has two noticeably different designs but they're each a different take on the same idea#and i have reason to believe she may have been conceptualized as a boss based on how she's framed#a re-imagining of leviathan is also present which makes me think the qliphoth would have referenced temen-ni-gru in design#assuming the qliphoth was always present and that there weren't entire water sections bounced around early on#nothing in the final game or even the art book suggests this ever made it onto the literal drawing board though#and the concept for leviathan depicts it as being land-based#with the second concept for kelpie showing her partially obscured by a mass of stars and space#so i'd really like to know what was going on there between the designers

Found a religious songbook in the gutter on my morning walk. Took a pic, but left it on the sidewalk in case the owner came back for it, and posted in the local fb group.
First comment I got was "And you just left it there?!"
My dude. It was new and had nothing personal in it. Easily replaceable. It had already rained. The local group doesn't have THAT many members. What are the chances the owner is going to see my post and contact me vs not seeing the post and just retracing their steps. If I had taken it, I likely would have just ended up with a songbook that triggers my religious trauma. No thank you. Of course I left it there.
#I also found a license plate still attached the the box thing that you screw a license plate onto#that I did take#posted about it too but will take it to the dmv on my husband's next day off if nobody contacts me with the second half of the plate#anyway i just thought it was funny that this guy was so concerned over the fact#that I'd JUST LEFT an easily replaceable book in the sunshine on the sidewalk#go get it if you're that concerned#tbh i feel i went above and beyond just posting about the stupid thing#mine#lost and found#fb stupidity

There are few things worse, I think, than reading a call to action memoir that is so close to right but really should have been shelved for at least 5yrs before going to print so the author has time to learn enough to see all the false equivalencies that really hinder the point
#personal;#yeah fatphobia is bad but dont you dare act like people aren't asking disabled people to medically alter themselves every day???#you compare bariatric and gender affirming surgeries in such a way that makes the latter sound easy to get??#and in fact don't at ALL go into the struggles for transition care except for a nod at FL while comparing us (trans people)#to fat people like our lives are Much Easier instead of /oppressed by the same white colonial structures that enforce fatphobia/#but go off i guess#i was giving a lot of leeway when i was just side eyeing the comparisons with racism bc i'm not fat and i've not experienced enough racism#to say either way on those#but the MOMENT she started using trans and disabled comparisons i about lost it#and also randomly started calling it antisemitic (sure as much as it's violnt to all poc) in the last chapter with nothing supporting it#like you can tell it was written over the course of the last like 2 maybe 3 years without enough space to breathe#i have listened to a book on writing memoir so often i've got some of it all but memorized#and i agree that if it's more recent than a decade you're probably too close to be writing it#and this author's writing mostly about during pandemic times. this is more a journal and call to action than memoir#but its not polished enough to be a proper call to action bc there's not much it gives you to do other than 'stop dieting & dare to be fat'#which isn't an effective call to action when only those most harmed by fatphobia can act on it you know???#lots of complaints#3/10#edit: reiterting that i'm not saying it'#*it's not anti-semitic; just that a good published work of this kind doesn't make last second claims and certainly not ones#they haven't already explicitly supported in the text#i feel the need to clarify with the very very vocal rise of anti semitism esp in the left#like yes there are anti-Semitic ties. she didn't name them. just said 'they exist lol' and this went to print#great study in poor research slipping onto shelves bc topic matter is relevant

anyway can we talk about how almost every upcoming liu yuning character is a tragic figure. cuz if im thinking about bai choufei for months after finishing heroes idk how many more of those my mental health can take tbh
#liu yuning#oh so that's what it takes for me to finally make a tag for him#like of his 5(?) upcoming shows 3 of them are adaptations so we know exactly how things end for all his characters#and the answer is 'not good' for all of them! delightful#like spoilers obviously but as far as i can tell#di lin (from zi chuan) has a very similar character trajectory to bai choufei#starts out in the protagonist trio slowly gets pushed onto a path that eventually leads to him betraying his brothers#and thats the one thats projected to air this year so. delightful#as a side note the zi chuan animation is on myanimelist?? wild#zhuo bufan from floating world is the worlds best swordsman in the era when guns are just starting to get popularised#you can probably already see how that's gonna go for him#completely unrelated side note but the story of zhuo bufan and his love interest is so fucking weird#like this is all from that one floating world bts live lyn did but#she is somehow simultaneously his 师妹 (younger girl taught by the same master) and 师娘 (wife of his master) ??#no idea how that works dying to find out#and best for last! luo mingxi from legend of anle#just like. classic pathetic love triangle victim male second lead stubbornly in unrequited love with the female lead#also his health is terrible like hes constantly ill or something#like you can just tell hes gonna be one of those. pathetic meow meow wet paper bag men and im so here for it#hilariously after heroes came out a lot of lyn fans who read the book the legend of anle is based on were talking about how like#luo mingxi has this. super likeable characterisation#like you can kinda tell the entire fanbase is just really sick of the bai choufei discourse#and like desperately hoping that his next character is gonna be just. wholesome and unproblematic#well with the way the chronologies worked out in the end we're sure as hell not getting that if zi chuan airs first but oh well#the writer and director on zi chuan are from the writing/directing team of ultimate note actually so i have a lot of hope#cuz ultimate note was a really good adaptation so clearly this team knows what they're doing#actually ultimate note has 3 credited directors and of those 1 of them is a director on both zi chuan and floating world#another is directing a journey to love#c ents a small world i guess ???

so many shows are being released for franchises I kinda like that im getting burnt out on watching shows/on the franchises PLS one or two a year is more than enough omg
#i can't keep up wwith this much tv#i havent watched the second season of the witcher yet#i stopped watching marvel showws#i havent seen arcane or the neil geiman show that just came out yet#i havent seen the lotr show#im probably not going to watch andor or will only see it thru my parents putting it on#and none of this is bc i dont want to see the shows or i hate them or whatever#IT'S JUST TOO MUCH#I CANT KEEP UP WITH THIS#I CAN PICK LIKE 2 OR 3 SHOWS TO WORK MY WAY THRU THATS IT#my brain cant hold onto that much info for multi season shows ok#like k dramas are ok bc they're one season usually#but these things????#theyre getting RENEWED#i finish a show and immediately another one is out#i just want some time to breathe and maybe read a book omg#it's like so much that i just dont pay attention to what's being released anymore and im not watching things id probably otherwise enjoy#it feels like theyre repeating the downfall of network tv idk but like speedrunning it#like rn im watching bleach and loosely following mando and ofmd and waiting for their new seasons#and there are a few more i watch like bridgerton that im not that invested in#but like tv in general im just getting so hit in the face by that i dont want to watch

the way my brain works sure is fascinating like i have a stack of books i havent read yet but i still want more books and then i actually finish one book and my brain is like okay so now we gotta buy three more books
