Monday’s mess on the desk - I’ve finally figured how I’m going to make earrings using these huge reclaimed mother of pearl mosaic beads originally from a necklace I found at the flea market. They’re surprisingly light with beautiful natural iridescence. I’ve created flat texture disc beads to look like coral using two dried poppy seed heads stuck together that I’ve then made a mold for and used quick cure clay to produce. They’ve been dry brush painted to tie in with the large beads and I’ll be adding polished agate beads to the top. From the bottom will hang chains and depending on the weight at this stage, they’ll have amazonite beads or Roman glass beads.
