Hero Form Appearance: A combination between a superhero’s gear and YuYuYu’s Hero form outfits. The undersuit is a solid white so the purple of the main outfit can easily coexist alongside it, which it does perfectly. As you near the lower half of the sleeves, the lower half of the pants, and the tailcoat, it becomes a more dark purple. Accent colors include white, black, gold, silver, indigo, light blue, periwinkle, and cream. The boots, gloves, and the belt all have patterns of the purple chrysanthemum- and the only other accessory is a purple chrysanthemum hairclip in Hitoshi’s hair. The flower’s petal shape can be seen in the collar, tailcoat, and wristbands.

Sadarki spends hours on his appearance, trying to look scary as possible, but no matter how hard he tries, he never manages to be very scary. But he's a genius when it comes to blending in. He shakes his feathers with drama and lets out a scream so loud and shrill it can be heard for miles. It approaches the sleeping humans as if it were a ninja, and when they least expect it, it launches its nightmarish scream at them from behind. If they manage to flee, it vanishes into the shadows.

It's incredibly smart, dodging attacks before they even happen. He's not much of a flyer. He'd much rather walk or stay quietly in his shelter. He's all about timing, picking the perfect moment to give a good scare.

Warriors Orochi Generic Officers

Warriors Orochi has introduced groups of generic officers throughout its series, whether demon, mystic or godly. They are all listed below the break.

In the first game, Orochi's generic officers were made up of reptilian generals with fangs on the sides of their mouths. The second game introduced the speedy Dodomeki and the brawny Gyūki and also introduced other generic officers based on them. Diamondback/Mizuchi (蛟) would later become the representative for the reptilian generals, initially becoming famous for being executed by Orochi X at the Wuzhang Plains before coming to lead his own army in the coming of the Hydra.

All Orochian generic officers are named after supernatural beings, ghosts or demons from China or Japan in the Asian versions of the games. In the English versions however, the reptilian generals are named after snakes, the Dodomeki generals are named after spiders and the Gyūki generals are named after minerals.

Three Gyūki generals were cut in the third game for some reason - presumably their kanji was hard to render but that's a stupid excuse. Those three could have been the Orochian generals interested in playing kemari with Yoshimoto and Motochika in Liang Province. Given the three-pronged story arc of the game, I kind of wish the Orochian generals were divided among Da Ji, Kiyomori and Diamondback (let's not forget the contingent following Yuan Shao under Hammerjaw as well), but it's too much work for me to collate a list of who appeared in which battle.

More Orochian generals were introduced at the Battle of Wan Castle in 3 Hyper, followed by Tamamo's demon army in 3 Ultimate. The generals introduced at Wan Castle are unique to that stage for some reason, with a couple of them appearing in Yan Province as well. The English versions name them after disasters, emotional states or even East Asian demons, with a couple in the third category being direct transcriptions of their original names. 3 Ultimate would be more lazier in their transcriptions by literally just translating the original names.

The new demons introduced in 3's expansions would also appear in 4 with a few new additions. Tamamo's demons had an alternate design to those of Orochi's demons, but 4 had them all in the original design.

The second game introduced a number of mystical characters from Chinese folklore, more specifically Fengshen Yanyi (封神演義) and Journey to the West (西遊記). With them, other generic mystics were introduced as well.

The third game expands to mystical characters from Japanese folklore as with Susano'o and Kaguya come new generic mystics named after Japanese gods. Of course, other Chinese mystics continued to debut in this game, but interestingly, the ones from the second game (bar one) weren't reused.

The fourth game continues to feature a number of mystics, but only a few as the focus was turned to Greek and Norse gods.

Cygnus/Wu Ji (武吉) - Cygnus was named Aquila in the PSP port of WO2. Cygnus would appear again in 4 Ultimate.

Ursa/Northern Dipper (北斗) - Ursa was named Draco in the PSP port of WO2.

Centaurus/Southern Dipper (南斗) - Centaurus was named Cygnus in the PSP port of WO2.

Aquila/Immortal of the Southern Land (南華仙人) - Aquila also appears in 3, serving as the replacement generic officer for Fu Xi. This officer is also known as Zhuangzi (南華老仙) in DW8.

Howdy, I was wondering if you have a favorite yokai. And if so, what is it?

hmmm….there’s so many fun yokai to pick from, but I think I’ll have to go with onmoraki. something about there being a weird, horrible corpse-bird appeals to me, especially because they apparently go after lazy monks…the same kind that created them by botching the purification ritual. they just don’t want anyone else to suffer like this…or maybe they just want some petty revenge. both options are compelling to me

Thank you! It's been a relaxing one. Four demons for Cirstmurs...

I don't think my typical demon favorites would fit too well in this context. So for one of my family's parties it would have to be...

1. Lemon Frost. For flavor.

2. Putz. For all the hazelnut filling I ate in chocolates this year.

3. Onmoraki. I had wings for Christmas dinner. Have to take the chicken thing literally.

4. Erlkonig. I mean, the gifts have to go under something.

5. Agony. I would delight in informing my family that this crucified-by-barbed-wire guy bleeding profusely on the floor is in fact not actually Jesus.

Oh, it was just four. Well, this is the season of giving, after all!
