Digital Monster Color designs

I'm in a very boring uni class rn soo I'm gonna rank the Digital Monster Color designs.

Okay soo these are the categories in every version:

-Peak: what I think is the best design in the device.

-Love:my actual favorite design of the device.

-Honorable mentions(HM):3 of what I believe to be very good designs.

-Eghhhh:what I think is the worst design of the device, if I don't have one, it will be my least favorite.

Any other digimon outside of this categories is in a scale of Good to eeeehhh it's fine.

Okay, everything except HM will have some explanation, I will prioritize the '97 designs and this will be me in the order of best to worse device.

Ver.2

-Peak:Cres Garurumon,yeah I know what I said about 97, I explain it the overview. That aside, I usually prefer the gabus lines, and that artwork is just *chef kiss*. Sprite is meh, tho.

-Love:Gabumon , okay it's more about the "lost child energy" of the artwork more that the sprite, but I really love this little fella.

-HM:SkullGreymon, Angemon, Kabuterimon

-Eghhhh: Vademon, tbh I don't quite get Vademon as a design,just probably my least favorite evo of a mistake evo of any version. Vegimon and Ebemon are cool, tho.

Overview: The thing about the ver.2 devices is that I think is a very solid roster in general, so I find it very hard to pick favorites.Also it has very funny sprites tho, like those of Yukidarumon, Whamon, Vegiemon,and MetalMamemon.

Ver.4

-Peak:Megadramon, like just look at it, it's a dragon serpent with wings and cannons for arms.It's the definition of peak.Also sprite is very good.

-Love:BloomLordmon, I just really like this design,I think is a very good interpretation of "Plant knight" also the helmet that looks like a pirate hat is funny.

-HM:Digitamamon, Monochromon, Coelamon.

-Eghhhh:Nanimon, okay if Vademon was my least favorite evo of a mistake evo, this is my actual least favorite mistake evo. I know it's a tamagotchi, but maan that artwork is gross. Sprite is meh.

Overview:Another really solid roster, the only thing I don't like about it is nanimon, especially when you have to go through it to get a good design, Digitamamon. Also, Bandai's choice of making Genkoomon the digitamamon evo just baffles me.

Ver.1

-Peak:Metalgreymon, virus Metalgreymon is one of the best digimon designs in general,so I'm very glad it is in this device and not the vaccine version.

-Love:Tyranomon, hands down, Tyranomon is my favorite design of all time, like just look at him, he's just a jolly and friendly tyrannosaurus rex, it's the best.

-HM:Devimon,Betamon,BanchoMamemon.

-Eghhhh:tbh,I don't really have a digimon I don't like that much in this device,soo I'm going to say Omegamon Alter S. just beacuse I'm tired of Omegamonn, even tho Alter S. is one of the best Omegamon designs.

Overview: the Ver.1 is also really solid, but in my personal opinion has a problem in which that the adults are really "adjacent?",like Tyranomon, Greymon, Meramon, Airdramon and Devimon I feel they have like some relation to fire, even tho they aren't fire digimon half of them. Tyranomon and Greymon are actual fire dinosaurs, Meramon in straight up a fire man, Devimon is a devil soo is kinda connected, and Airdramon is dragon-like with those red wings,so it seems like is fire related.That aside, the childs, perfects and megas are really solid.

Ver.3

-Peak:Orgemon, the Ver.3 context is somewhat dire,soo I guess Orgemon is fine,I like the Orc + Oni design.

-Love:Drimogemon, okay I don't like it quite as much, but in the Ver.3 context is probably my favorite, even tho is probably because his face looks like a butt xD.

-HM:Centalmon, Giromon, Patamon

-Eghhhh:Chimariamon, look I get what's trying to do, I don't think the idea is executed as best as it could.

Overview:First of all, the lines are a mess. Not like in "this makes no sense as an evolution", a mess in the sense as to why there is an extra digimon out of nowhere.Second, this device is full of digimons I don't feel anything about them as a group.Like, Bokomon, Centalmon, Giromon, Andromon are fine in it's own, but not all in the same device.Also there's the digimon I don't care about at all, like Shellmon, Unimon, Kunemon, and so on.

Ver.5

-Peak:Mugendramon, tbh I think this is also one of the best digimon designs in general, but is held back for the things I'm going to explain in dept on the overview

-Love:Ex-Tyranomon, plushie Tyranomon, next. (Also Bandai you cowards, make an actual Tyranomon plushie).

-HM:Devidramon, Dark Tyranomon, Chaosdramon

-Eghhhh:Flymon, I had to pick one, I will go on detail in the overview.

Overview: Let's talk about the elephant in the room, this device has a serious case of awful sprites. Like,some of the designs are more of less good, but the sprites held them back. By example , for some reason, MetalTyranomon cables seem like veins, making it kinda creepy. Aaaand there are the weird ugly designs even in artwork, both Childs are whack; Cyclomon, Flymon, Tuskmon, Deltamon, Raremon are whack; Nanomon is meh. The tragedy of this version is that the perfect onwards stuff is fine-cool, but everything else is pretty bad.

man, it kind of bums me out how the majority of the time that kyle's jewishness is a focal point in fan content, it's for a negative reason. if kyle's contemplating the fact that he's jewish, it's because he's being bullied or harassed, because he's feeling insecure about his appearance or self worth, because he's feeling lonely and isolated, because he's having a crisis of faith, etc etc. these are all totally valid themes and character arcs to explore, of course! i think many jews like myself may be able to relate to these themes, thanks to living in a society where antisemitism and other shitty behaviour runs rampant. but i think we're really missing a golden opportunity to explore the complex and compelling positives of being jewish. where's his love for his community? where's his excitement for an upcoming holiday? where's the comfort he might take from prayers? where's his curiosity or knowledge about his family history? where's his passion for debating interpretations of the torah? these are also valid, relatable and in-character directions you could take things!

i know that this trend is probably heavily influenced by the presence of this pattern in the show itself, but it's still a bit sad. or maybe gentiles (non-jews) shy away from celebrating his jewishness because they don't feel confident in commenting on a religious experience that they've never had. to those people, I would ask, why is it you feel comfortable speculating on the hardships of being jewish, but not the joys?

that isn't to say that you're not allowed to write about the former if you're not jewish, of course! regardless of religious background, anyone can empathise with his struggles because, at the end of the day, we're all human, and it's our humanity that unites us. but i'd encourage you to push yourself out of your comfort zone, do a little research and have some fun celebrating and supporting his jewishness once and awhile :)

today I am thinking about... fat tweek! and fat butters! and fat wendy and heidi! maybe throw a lil fat kyle in there too! I'm sick and tired of fatness being equated with immorality when it comes to south park (and the world in general tbh) and it makes me sad that so many people seem afraid of portraying any of the non-cartman characters as plus-sized. 'fat' is a neutral descriptor and not a dirty word, and displaying body diversity amongst the cast is not only realistic, but a wonderful and beautiful thing! so anyway reblog this and put in the tags which character(s) you've always headcanoned to be fat or not skinny :)

BnHA Chapter 313: Deku VS Lady Nagant

Previously on BnHA: Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai Lady Nagant showed up to fire a cupid’s arrow into my heart, and a bunch of literal bullets into my son. Deku was all “oh shit it’s Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai, what do I do, let me think back to Hawks’s advice for a sec.” Flashback!Hawks was all “anyway Deku so if my super-hot badass murder senpai ever shows up you’re basically screwed so you’d better abscond the fuck out of there.” Present!Deku was all “lol idek why I flashed back to that conversation since I’m just going to do the exact opposite of what Hawks said” and charged directly toward Nagant because WHY NOT. Overhaul was all “waah I need to get back to my boss who I put in a coma out of love” and Nagant was all “jesus christ why did I even bring you here” and had a flashback to AFO who was all “ILU NAGANT IMMA GIVE YOU AN EXTRA QUIRK SO PLEASE CAPTURE DEKU FOR ME PLEASE AND THANKS” and yeah. Shit is all over the place right now and I love it.

Today on BnHA: All Might gets attacked by a pair of discount assassins and is all “Call an ambulance! ...BUT NOT FOR ME” and it’s really badass but also I really wish he would stop tempting fate like this. Lady Nagant is all “[casually flies around town shooting shit]” and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t read an entire chapter of just that. Deku is all, “[gets shot (≥_<)]” and releases a giant Smokescreen which prompts En to show up. En is all, “( •᷄⌓•᷅ ) (⌣̀ Δ⌣́) ( •̀_•́ )σ (¬､¬) (눈_눈)” which I consider to be a high point of both the chapter and of my life. The chapter ends with Deku using the Third’s quirk to launch a bunch of random objects at Nagant so that he can jump up and grab her arm all sneaky-like, and I’m sure this is going to prompt another week’s worth of discourse that I don’t care about at all, but fuck it, I’m having a good time.

anyway so what’s up Deku, are you going to use another quirk?? I’ve been speculating that he hasn’t actually unlocked the last two yet (since Two and Three didn’t exactly seem convinced when we last saw them), but maybe I’m about to be proven wrong

AHHHH I’M HYPED LOL. ANOTHER SHINY NEW QUIRK LOL SHOULD I PUT UP THE USUAL DISCOURSE DISCLAIMER

(ETA: so yeah, after thinking on it, I’m not gonna say “please no Deku discourse on my blog” this week, but I probably will ignore any discourse that does come my way though, just because I don’t have much interest in getting involved in what would probably be a pretty repetitive discussion. like, I can just sum up my opinions (which is what they are) here instead. in fact here they are lol:

1) I like the SIXQUIRKS and I like seeing Deku be a badass.

2) I also don’t think Deku is too OP. more like he’s exactly as OP as he needs to be at the moment, given that we’re approaching the end of the series. I expect the other kids will also be pretty damn OP when we see them fight again. we’re just at that point now where they’re all badasses (as well they should be; they’ve grown a lot and they deserve it). it’s just that Deku’s the one we’re getting to see right now.

3) of course I miss Kacchan and the others, but for me this vibes much closer to the MVA arc where even though I missed them, I was still having a blast (as opposed to the dark days of the Basement arc where I was pretty much losing it lol). like, even though Kacchan’s my favorite, I still love Deku a lot and this arc has been amazing for him getting to shine on his own (for like the first time, really).

4) y’all know I love the OFA plot and I’ve never been shy about that lol. I like all of the Vestiges a lot. Banjou and his over the top personality; En and his “guy you thought would be serious and :| all the time but is actually hyper-animated and ALL OVER THE PLACE” energy; Shiro who actually is a :| sort of guy lol; Three who I still expect will be fleshed out in a more detailed flashback at some point; and of course Two, who, well. you know what I think about him lol. Bakuverse is still on the table and I’m still hyped. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we still have yet to see Two actually talk to Deku (as opposed to talking to the other Vestiges while Deku is distracted). did he lend him his power yet?? or is he still holding out?? either way it’s definitely going to be a Big Thing when it finally happens and I can’t wait to see it.

5) Lady Nagant is Everything and just because Deku grabbed her arm doesn’t mean the fight is over yet lol. Overhaul hasn’t come into play yet either. not to mention that even if the fight is over, the “where do we go from here” part still has me excited either way. her connection to Hawks and the HPSC is very intriguing and we’ve barely touched on that as of yet; she definitely has more of a role to play in this.

6) last but not least, I feel like every week the discussion is all about how much focus Deku’s getting, and how OP he is or isn’t, and OFA this and OFA that, but meanwhile I’m actually so invested in the character development here though?? the way Deku has distanced himself from everyone (except for the Vestiges, because of course they’re already dead so it’s not like they can die again lol)?? the way he’s pushing himself far too hard and we can see the shadows in and under his eyes, and the fact that he never smiles, and even All Might has remarked on how he isn’t taking care of himself at all?? the fact that he’s so single-mindedly obsessed with focused on stopping AFO?? the fact that he’s still the same sweet old Deku despite everything and was so kind to that fox lady with the umbrella, but there was also something so sad about that scene because it felt like a reminder of the type of hero that he wants to be, but that he’s not allowed to be right now?? because the stakes are too high and the world is falling apart?? and he feels like he’s the only one who can do something about it?? and that he has to be?? and that he is putting so much pressure on himself right now, and it’s absolutely too much pressure for any one person to bear, and I feel like no one is fucking talking about this lol goddammit.

anyway so yeah. I have feels about this, and every week that slow-burn angst is getting more and more intense behind the scenes, and I feel like it’s all going to hit a breaking point eventually. sooner rather than later. it really feels like a mirror of Katsuki’s post-Kamino arc. where all that angst was just churning below the surface for like twenty chapters and then it finally was like “okay it’s time” and it all came bursting out and we got the best five chapters of the fucking series (in my admittedly biased estimation lol).

basically, I know that most of fandom is billing this as either the “villain hunt” arc or the “solo Deku SIXQUIRKS fighting arc” or whatever. but for me, it’s always been and still is the Deku Angst arc lol. the cool fights are a sexy bonus (the worldbuilding less so because even though it’s interesting to see society at such a low point, it’s also very depressing and gets old pretty fast), but for me the thing that’s really keeping me engaged chapter after chapter is seeing Deku like we’ve never seen him before. seeing him all quiet and withdrawn and brooding and focused on AFO, AFO, AFO, and seeing that “he just doesn’t take himself into account” mentality taken to extremes. I am invested in that. I’m soaking up that angst each and every week, and I’m invested in seeing what comes of it. it’s a big picture thing. week to week this arc might just seem like a bunch of villain fight scenes, sure. but Deku’s emotional journey is the thread that’s going to carry this arc through from beginning to end, and for that I’m willing to be patient.

anyway that turned into a BIG OL’ RANT there but yeah! so those are my thoughts on the disk horse as it currently stands. and like I said, I’m open to discussion, but tbh I will probably just wind up repeating these same talking points endlessly so just a fair warning lol.)

anyway so Three says Deku has yet to use his quirk at ALL but now he’s trying to combine it with another quirk?? damn. also please check out En’s face here you guys

Deku is a badasssssss but something tells me not to count Nagant out just yet even so. also I really enjoy seeing Deku flip out on people like he doesn’t have a fucking hole in his torso because it reminds me of A CERTAIN SOMEONE and I always love to see him channeling that feral energy; I feel like it’s been a while

Colorado: damn idk how y’all breathe there, them air is thin. But really pretty out there! 7/10

Connecticut: oh my god fuck New Haven. And Stamford, and Hartford, and— Yknow what? Let’s just toss the whole state into the Sound. For real, traffic is the WORST here and I’m so sorry that y’all gotta live like that. 3/10

Delaware: I cannot believe this is considered a state. There’s no difference between Delaware and Maryland/Pennsylvania. 1/10 should not be a state

Florida: “the only hills in Florida are the highway ramps and the Matterhorn!” —the shuttle driver at Disney World. He was right. Shit is flat as fuck here. And hot. And humid. The Gulf Coast is nice? But tbh it’s just all very touristy which is kind of a bummer. 5/10

Georgia: ...I can’t with the humidity or thinly veiled racism. But y’all got nice peaches! Also Black Panther filmed there so thank you for blessing us with that. 6/10 for fruits

Hawaii: okay pineapple farms are cool. Tbh I just feel really bad for how much mainlander/tourist bs all the islanders put up with. Ik price of living is v high and keeps going up. That said I did love Hawaii... although I was stung by a jellyfish. Hate those little bastards. 8/10 for wonderful people and nature

Idaho: as an Oregonian I’m required to also say fuck Idaho 😝 you da hoes. Okay for real tho southern Idaho has become v white white and kinda scary tbh. The northern part of the state is pretty chill tho. Also Oreida kettle chips are partly made in Idaho so I gotta give you half credit for that. 4/10

Illinois: at least you’re not Indiana. 4/10.

Indiana: I never want to step foot in Gary, Indiana again in my life. (Passed a Mack truck hauling a race car to Indy 500 though so that was cool.) 2/10

Iowa: I almost moved here. I’m so glad I didn’t. Why are the Quad Cities actually a group of five towns? I hate that. Also the roads were all cement, felt like driving on a sidewalk. Was also interesting because the second we got out of the city proper, it was just... corn fields everywhere. 2/10 y’all raising children of the corn.

Kentucky: I really don’t have anything to say about Kentucky. I thought the trees were pretty? 5/10 yeah idk

Maine: my relative has totaled two cars by hitting moose in Maine. Maine scares me. Or rather, the moose do. Also the lobster roll hype is real. And the coast truly is beautiful. 8/10 but an extra point for the moose bc I hate that relative so 9/10

Maryland: oh god Baltimore. Also I’m blaming you for the DC traffic because it’s on the land you gifted them. 3/10

Massachusetts: Patriots fans are the worst NFL fans (the racism is real, especially after fans burned the jerseys of Black players who knelt for the anthem). Liking Dunkin’ Donuts is not a personality trait. The North End in Boston is truly the best place to get pizza in the entire country. Western Mass is not the same state. And the Cape Cod bridges give me nightmares. 5/10 but cause I had to pay taxes two years and it really is Taxachusetts, knocking it down to 4/10

Michigan: it’s a lot bigger than I initially thought. 5/10

Minnesota: it’s Canada but in the US. Pretty driving through the southern part. Cops suck tho. 5/10

Montana: okay Montana is downright gorgeous. (Except Billings. Sorry, Billings.) I must include a photo. I wanna get a cabin here and just exist. 8/10

New Hampshire: can’t decide if it hates Massachusetts or wants to be Massachusetts. All it knows is that it’s better than Vermont. Which... y’know, valid. (If you wanna see NH culture watch North Woods Law tbh). 4/10

New Jersey: why are there so many goddamn highways in this state? Also there are more places to weekend trip than the Shore or the Poconos. Although you do have people pump gas for you just like Oregon, so... that’s valid. Things my friends have added: Newark airport is cursed (valid), the jughandles are nightmares (true), pork roll/Taylor Ham is good and so are bagels and New Jersey pizza (allergic so idk), and everyone is split on whether the shore is actually decent or not 😂 I give it a 3.5/10 out of spite

New York: NYC is fun, Upstate is MASSIVE but really beautiful. Long Island is... yeah I don’t have anything nice to say about Long Island. 8/10 For NYC, 6/10 for Upstate, -2/10 for Long Island, gives us an average of 6/10

North Carolina: very good peaches. Isn’t South Carolina. Keep it up👍🏽 6/10

Ohio: I already told y’all how I feel about this flat ass boring state. I feel no need to slander it any more lmao. 3/10

Oregon: she flies with her own wings, mi amor🥰 to list all the reasons I like Oregon (and the issues too bc it ain’t perfect), I would need a whole other post. I’ll just leave you with this picture I took of Mt. Hood, the queen of our Cascades. 11/10

Pennsylvania: so apparently PN is three states hiding in a trench coat like NY. There’s upstate, philly and Pittsburg. Personally I think they’re just trying too hard and wanna get the same recognition as NY. Meh. 5/10

Rhode Island: THIS FUCKIN SHAM OF A STATE Just merge it with Connecticut and be done with it!! It’s tiny. Providence sucks. There’s nothing unique about this state that you can’t find in Southern Mass (except MA has cheaper taxes so y’all come to work and shop in MA anyways smh). Also the fingers are really annoying to drive down to get to some beach areas haha. 2/10 you’re barely better than Delaware.

South Carolina: my Black father was invited to a party celebrating General Robert E Lee’s birthday. So... 0/10

South Dakota: very gorgeous, didn’t realize the Missouri River went this far west, but VERY LARGE. I mean it looks big on a map but then you get there and... yeah. No speed limit on highways is a great time though. And the Badlands have mountain goats! 6/10 bc while pretty, living there seems really hard. (Picture is me in the Badlands).

Texas: gave us Juneteenth and Beyoncé and JJ Watts. Thank you Texas. But is very big, got independence from Mexico to keep slavery (yikes), is like 97% private land (yikes) and is like the second or third largest state. Very big. That said, everyone I’ve ever met from Texas is lovely. 6/10.

Utah: Other than Idaho, this is the whitest state I’ve been to. Or it feels that way. Like a, the people crossed to the other side of the street and held their bags because I’m brown, state. And I don’t ski so I can’t even say that’s a good thing (I fell off the ski lift the one time I went, long story). Yeah 0/10.

Vermont: wants to be New Hampshire or Canada and can’t decide which. So it’s just kinda there. Pretty hills though. 3/10

Virginia: let’s be real we all forget that Virginia exists west of Richmond. Nova is a beauracratic and traffic nightmare and half our neighbors had to pass security clearance checks. Hampton Roads and beach area is a tourist and mosquito nightmare. But there were dolphins and I made snowmen on the beach. Good times. 6.7/10

Washington: again, legally required as an Oregon resident to say fuck Washington because it’s all your fault we now are getting a toll on the I-5 border. But you’re better than California. And the Sound is really cool for fishing, love Wicked Tuna. And the fish market. Best salmon I’ve had. Eastern Washington... y’all got Spokane but the rest is kinda sparse. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 8/10

Wisconsin: cheese is actually good. Again, pretty state, much larger than I initially thought. 7/10

Wyoming: this was the ONLY STATE I lost cell service in when diriving cross country. Kinda surprised it wasn’t Montana, but no, it was Wyoming. Views are gorgeous though so I was distracted either way. 4/10

1. Who was your bias when you first started liking BTS?

 - RM! He was the first member I noticed and I was instantly attracted to his looks and mannerisms.

2. Who is your current bias?

  - Min Yoongi :) It’s funny because in the beginning when I would rank them in order of who I liked the most SUGA would always be last. It wasn’t until I really watched a lot of their interviews and videos that I realized how he really is and how it just takes time to warm up to him (a common occurrence with most new ARMY haha our sweet tsundere Yoongs).

3. Which member is your bias wrecker?

- Jungkookie! He’s so special and his dorkiness really gets to me sometimes. I think we would be good friends!

4. What is your favorite Bangtan Bomb?

- I have watched the one where Jungkook and Jimin do the ‘Coming of Age Ceremony’ dance way more times than I’d like to admit. They both look so sexy but adorable at the same time (let’s be real though, that’s every member always (their duality, man))... also I love the bomb of their dance practice for Baepsae, (which coincidentally is on the same day as the first clip of the other bomb). They look like they’re having so much fun, that song hypes me uuuuup and I think it’s hilarious that Yoongi loses rock, paper, scissors and has to do the freestyle dance.

5. What is your favorite BTS song?

- ahh I struggle with this so much! It really depends on my mood. When I want to be hyped up I listen to Baepsae or BTS Cypher 4 or UGH!. I also love the Mic Drop remix with Steve Aoki and Idol. Blood, Sweat and Tears is a good one, too. And of course Dynamite and Butter because I can sing along to those for the whole song. So... yeeeaah, clearly I don’t really have a favorite lol

6. Which member appears in your dreams the most?

- I dream about them kind of frequently tbh, it’s a little worrisome hahaha. Umm, I think SUGA has shown up the most

7. What’s your favorite BTS music video?

- Save Me or Mic Drop!

8. Who’s solo song and/or mixtape do you like the most?

   - I love Epiphany so much. Jin holds a special place in my heart. I’m also obsessed with Daechwita and Yoongi’s D-2 mixtape in general.

9. What is your favorite BTS choreography?

   - Idol!

10. How long have you been an ARMY?

   - Not long... only 10 months! Where had they been all my life??

  - Love Yourself: Answer! So many classics on that album

  - Can all of them be an answer?? for real though. Jimin or Jungkook or Jin or j-hope. uhhhhh clearly I can’t decide LOL (and I have a friendship thing for the J line?)

13. Which member would you choose to be your husband?

   - Hmmm... probably Seokjin! He can cook, he and I have the same cheesy sense of humor, he seems pretty easy-going, he has a knack for fancier things but isn’t flashy about it, he’s goofy but serious/mature when he needs to be. idk, he just seems like he would be good husband material!

14. Which member makes you laugh the most?

    - omg all of them make me laugh. I’ve laughed so hard watching their videos that I’ve cried. It’s a great feeling haha. If I had to say one member, probably Jin or Namjoon. RM’s humor is so underrated.

15. Which episode of Run BTS! is your favorite?

   - I love episodes 83-85 called Summer Outing 1, 2 & 3 where they spend the day at a lake and participate in a bunch of water activites and then partake in a Manito game. I also love love love episodes 97 & 98 called Pajama Party omg Jungkook is adorable in those and they’re so hilarious. Honestly, I’ve made a whole list of my favorite Run episodes, maybe I will post it!

How have you come to read Berserk? Do you remember what your thoughts and impressions were while reading this story for the first time?

ty for your interest!

I actually watched the 97 anime first. I watched it with a friend like a decade ago and I don’t remember those first impressions very well because a lot of weed was involved lol. But I do know I thought I’d be bored by it and ended up surprisingly invested and engaged. I of course shipped griffguts and I was definitely shocked at how close to canon it was, with scenes like Casca’s cave monologue and Griff’s torture chamber monologue.

Then I found the Band of the Hawk scanlation and read that bc I wanted more, though I often found it confusing. I actually just checked and realized I still have a little wordpad doc I wrote notes in back then while I was reading it. So here’s some highlights:

- I adored both Guts and Griffith, and I called Guts “Gatts,” thanks to the scanlation.

- I found their trauma backstories really fascinating since I’d never rly seen that with male characters before.

- I hated Puck a lot lol :(

- From around the Lost Children arc: Hell, he's doing the same as Griffith did - building a mountain of bodies. I predict that he will eventually use the Behelit, and his sacrifice will be... Griffith! Because enemies can also be the most important person to you. But then he will turn it down. Also if he takes Jill, she'll be the Casca to his Griffith. Waaaiiit... if they explicitly state that it's a possibility Gatts'll use the Behelit and get all demon-y... well, obviously the temptation will be soon, and he'll say no. Not a climax as such. Just an event. Damn. Well, unless a central theme of the rest of this is Gatts' temptation to monsterize himself.

well hey I called Guts getting his own Casca parallel follower, I just didn’t know it would be Farnese.

- I was seeing Casca and Griffith parallels apparently, but I was being vague so I don’t know what parallels exactly. Maybe just the ‘shell of former self’ thing.

- very exasperated by how no man can interact with Casca without trying to rape her.

- went ham during hill of swords ofc but surprisingly not at Guts forgetting his urge to kill lol: OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS CHAPTER IS CALLED REUNION ON THE HILL OF SWORDS OMFG REUNION OMG OMG OMGOMGOMGOMGOMOMGOMGOMOGMOGMOGMOMGOD OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

- bb me still knew what was up re: Griff: He's not sociopathic, he's just so singleminded that he'll do anything for his goal. I was going to say that he's so single minded that he doesn't care what he does for his goal, but that's not true - he DOES care, he just does it anyway.

- I was getting bored with the Millenium Falcon arc and didn’t care about any of the new characters aside from kind of liking Serpico and absolutely hating Isidro. I didn’t say anything about Farnese but I do have a vague memory of getting excited that there was another female soldier character followed immediately by disappointment that she can’t actually fight. So if I didn’t like her back then that’s probably why.

- I was a little disappointed when Guts got the berserk armour because fight scenes aren’t as cool when the protag has a magic power up. I was right tbh.

- I seem to have quit writing around the beach chapters. I think I did actually drop it around there probably, I’d already taken one break and I was forgetting stuff and generally losing the thread of the story iirc.

also I believed Griffith was very likely to get redeemed at the end? Here’s my “reasoning” lol:

Consise, laid-out reasoning why Griffith will be redeemed. He'll probably die right afterwards, but he will certainly sacrifice himself in an act of redemption. 1. The slug-dude did so for his daughter in an act of foreshadowy self-sacrifice. 2. Skull-knight dude tells Gatts that he perhaps has the power to stop fate or whatever. 3. Griffith's whole friendship speech that throws everything in motion. It's super important, but one aspect that is truly important is that for him to call someone a friend, he has to be an equal - following his own dream, etc. When he becomes Femto, this gives Gatts the motivation he needs to get real. If Femto/Griffith eventually sees Gatts as his equal, this metaphorically equals friendship. Of course this will manifest in a respectful arch-enemy thing, once Femto learns to truly fear Gatts, but the metaphor is still there and it will come out when he eventually DOES sacrifice himself because he can't bear to lose his one equal/bff/etc. It will be very Final Gameish. 4. The only man who made Griffith forget his dream is Gatts. Gatts has a huge amount of power over Griffith in regards to his desire to rule everything. 5. Portions of the story are still seen from Griffith's point of view - indeed, a humanized Femto - and this gives me great hope that during these bits we'll see more greyscale characterization. 6. Also in a weird way they kind of have a child together apparently. Idk. 7. Based on the whole sequence before The Golden Age, Gatts gets dark. And ruthless. Mirroring Griffith's transformation, just a bit. 8. Also the fact that Gatts has a freaking

I didn’t fail to copypaste it properly, I just never finished that sentence. But it was probably “behelit” if I gotta guess. Final Game def references the never-made 70s Doctor Who episode where the Master was going to sacrifice himself to save the Doctor, fyi, not the Sherlock Holmes story. Me lowkey comparing every hero/villain dynamic to Doctor/Master when I was 20 is presumably why I assumed they’d get to a respectful arch nemeses vibe lmao.

I guess tbf I wasn’t talking about a redemption arc so much as a humanizing death lol, I just wouldn’t call that a redemption now. I don’t completely disagree with my past self, though I def had some dumb ideas.

It sucks that I dropped it before all the good parts of the MF arc tbh, Griffith vs Ganishka and Guts and Zodd teaming up etc. I wonder what I would’ve thought of it.

Anyway yeah lol, ty for asking and prompting me to find this lol, it was fun to reminisce!

(Honestly...seems less than I would have liked.)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?

It just feels like less and not enough.

What’s your own favorite story of the year?

Specimen Stokes. Agony is a close second, but I’ve struggled so much with that fic this year while Specimen Stokes, for the most part, hasn’t been deprecated on in my self hatred (only maybe like. twice) and it’s just been really fun to build and explore. (I gush about this fic a lot in this post lmao get ready)

Did you take any writing risks this year?

Shrinking Nick in Specimen Stokes, something I’ve only done in secret fic and honestly it was the funnest thing I’ve done in fic this year and I was shocked at the reception I got for it (I was fearful more people would stop reading lmao and I still am but idc. I’m having fun with that fic)

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?

Finishing Agony to start Augury (which is gonna be a leap into a topic that I’ve always been nervous fully exploring in fic but I’m excited about it for the angst/trauma.) Maybe finish some more WIPs, work on fic prompt anon’s prompts that I’ve neglected (I’m so sorry and I hope if you’re still out there, that you are enjoying what I do write) and maybe start working on some more bigger WIPs I have planned.

And also...maybe working on the issues I talk about in the “under-appreciated” portion...

Most popular story of the year?

Laughter Lines seems to have the highest stats of all, still currently unfinished. I’m honestly more proud that Agony is in second place lmao (though that carried from last year)

Most fun story to write: 

To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Specimen Stokes. Almost too much fun.

Most unintentionally telling story:

Probably Agony, Finder’s Fee, There is Just One Thing I Need, It’s Not Like Christmas At All, Catharsis, All of those bathtub fics I wrote this year...all of these fics have words spoken by and said to me, or general thoughts/feelings that I tried to idk. in a cathartic way, get out in fic but...didn’t always help.

Biggest disappointment: 

Not finishing Agony. And almost deleting it like. Ten times this year. (and wasn’t it this year I deleted like three other fics? so those too) Actually almost deleted all of my fics at least twice and I’m disappointed that even crossed my mind to do...and that it still does. 

Biggest surprise: 

Specimen Stokes. I legit had only intended to write it as an impromptu response to an ask, which technically didn’t ask me for a fic but I did it anyway and then kept running with it and haven’t stopped yet.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

(I’m moving this one to the bottom cause it gets a little ranty and whiny and so if you don’t wanna read it, you don’t have to press read more but if you do. I’m sorry...but that’s really what I’m feeling)

This is gonna sound terrible and absolutely ungrateful and probably make people like me even less than they already do but lmao...none of my fic has felt all that appreciated lately. And it’s not even about quantitative statistical counts of kudos and hits and all that shit, it’s the quality of feedback I recieve these days. just the general feeling that I’m not writing as good as I did before, that people have become disinterested in my stuff or fallen off of the multi-chaps that I haven’t been updating as frequently, or just being disinterested in my content. I’m not being specifically told what people do like about my writing, I don’t feel the same (or much of any with a few exceptions) encouragement and support as I did before, the silence has just been kind of making me feel the opposite--I’m sure earlier this year I probably didn’t feel this way but in this last half, I’ve felt so alone in all of my writing and so...I’m just not feeling good about it at all right now, even when I do manage to spit some random stuff out like I did over the weekend...that felt good...until it fell flat.

And again I know it’s terrible and selfish and ungrateful--esp given that yeah, I’m still getting kudos. I’m still getting hits, etc so I do have the sense that people are still reading I guess. Not as many comments and when they come (you know who you are if you’ve left a comment in recent works) I cherish them with all my heart but then it still just hurts or feels obligated? So I don’t always even believe them? could be tied to all the other mental issues I’m having right now and maybe one day I’ll just. stop caring enough to not feel this way anymore. And maybe idk I just get illusions that people care about my stuff and that’s just really not the case. It’s not. Sometimes I wish I never published fic to begin with tbh. Especially if I’m feeling this way about it all.

And trust me, I wish I didn’t. But I probably deserve it for being such a brat. Fandom’s supposed to be fun and it’s just...not for me as much anymore. I don’t even feel like I’m part of any sort of community anymore, I’m just alone in this corner I’ve carved out that’s still spewing content that nobody seems to want or care about. And I know that I’m not really making it fun, and I’m not feeling as included either with this bad attitude and it also probably has to do with how I deleted in october, but...it all just. hurts. and I don’t know what to do to make it better.

hi loves! i'm sorry i'm here so late, i had to work today and only recently got off! besides that, i'm so excited to be here because it's been a hot dang minute since i've been in an rp, but i'm excited to be with you all nonetheless! until then, i'll be putting a bit below about this lil bean <3

spencer was born as the oldest child of five children, two younger brothers, and two younger twin sisters. being the eldest, responsibility always fell on his shoulders, which he didn't really mind for the longest time, and for some time he felt proud to take the responsibility of his younger siblings.

his parents working full time only seemed to heavy the load on the boy's shoulders, his growing siblings (and brothers specifically) becoming more and more rebellious. at first, he tried to do the 'authorative brother' thing and help them out, but it only got worse and worse.

his parents' approach was to move their children's schools when things got bad enough, but after the fourth move in two years, spencer had had enough and stood up to his parents, expressing how much he hated being moved around, and that it was hard to have to make friends and plant roots over and over again, only to lose them.

he thought that since he was always a reserved kid, never second guessing or back talking his parents, that they'd at least hear him out. but he was quickly proven wrong, both parents berating him for how ungrateful he was and how at least his younger brothers were thankful for what they had, despite their abhorrent behavior. they ripped into him for what he could've sworn was hours, and when they were done, the boy was left speechless.

by speechless literally meaning that he didn't speak to his family for days, ultimately packing up a backpack the night before their scheduled big move (out of state this time, specifically) to sneak out to a friends house and stay for the night.

of course, he woke up to a flurry of missed calls and messages, his mother, father, and siblings all sounding furious, and he knew it wasn't something he should've done, but he was nothing short of absolutely shocked when finding his house empty, his family indeed leaving before he had came back home.

spence stayed there for a few nights, living out of what he'd packed from his backpack, to wait and see if they'd come back for him, but after a week had passed, then two, he'd lost any hope that may had been left.

for a few months, the at the time sixteen year old would sleep wherever he could, whether that be friend's couches or even an underpass or two, before he was able to land a job at a bakery that was within in his normal path. it was owned by a sweet old lady that he tended to smile extra bright at everytime he walked into her shop. he was able to disguise his living situation majority of the time, but soon enough the woman found out and was kind enough to let him stay in her guest room.

he lived there until he turned eighteen and could rent an apartment on his own, and stayed at that job while he went to school. he didn't end up leaving the job until after graduating college, but he still stops by the bakery frequently.

nowadays he's an art teacher and loves it to pieces. it may not be the best paying job, but that's when he also does art on the side to earn some extra cash.

he is SUPER friendly tbh. he never meets a stranger and will easily talk your ear off if you allow him.

he loves any and all kinds of art, be it paintings or sculptures, plays, music, books, movies...you name it and he'll easily admire it.

on the topic of admiring, boy is a BIG hopeless romantic! he's got a big weak spot for romcoms/full out romance movies because he loves any and all kind of love stories. if he's in a relationship, he put his entire soul into it, be that little notes or random visits or monthly flowers...anything that he can shower his significant other with affection.

a magnificent cook. he kinda had to learn how to take care of himself as a whole once his family left, and the grandma he lived with cooked for him on the daily. after so long he asked if he could help and learned how to make a variation of different delicious foods.

he will do anything for those he cares about. need him to cover your lunch? sure. need��a ride or someone to walk home with because you drank too much? of course. bought a bookshelf and didn’t realize it wasn’t assembled and now need help with it? he’s your guy. just ask him and he’ll likely be there in an instant.

weirdly though like i dont think many of my biases are 96 liners like i am. Ten is, and Yerin could be my GFriend bias (though idk it could really be any of the 6 of them.... im leaning towards Yerin or Umji though), but like... idk. i dont know who my WJSN bias is, i guess it could be Soobin, i like what little ive seen of her personality and i wanna watch more, but there’s so much content from so many groups lmao. Joy was my Red Velvet bias but tbh i think at this point it’s actually Seulgi. I like Vivi and Handong a LOT and theyre both high on my bias lists, but they aren’t my number 1s in those groups. idk. 

i have a lot of 97 and 99 line biases, and a couple 95 line biases, but not as many 96ers. tbh i cant even name that many more 96 line idols... Twice and CLC have a couple each, but like, idk i just think it’s interesting that a group with 13 members like WJSN, with a pretty wide age range, has three 95ers and two 97ers and more 98ers than like any other group i can think (i cant really think of many 98 line idols at all actually... a bunch of groups i like just skip over that year and go from 97 line to 99 line haha. loona, dreamcatcher, weki meki, nct only has one out of 23 total members, etc), and yet WJSN only has one 96 liner. 

maybe it’s that the big kpop booms were in the early 2010s when a bunch of groups debuted at a time when 96ers would have been too young, or in like 2017-2018 up until now, when 96ers are in their twenties and they would be potential leaders of groups and as such not as many of them got to debut? i’m just like hypothesizing here lmao, this is all just me guessing. 

some groups who debuted in 2014-2015 or so have some 96 line members, like Twice and CLC as i said, but it just feels to me like not as many groups debuted during that time compared to how many debut these days. it was like right on the edge between “generations” too, like the second gen groups were at the end of their careers (for the most part), and the third gen groups were rookies, so Red Velvet debuted with a 96 line maknae (who then got supplanted by a 99 line maknae lol), but it just seems to me like that wasnt super common. i mean i’ve only been into kpop for roughly almost 2 years, so i wasnt around then, but it just feels to me like that time period was between eras and the big kpop explosion hadnt quite happened yet.

I’m having a bit of the old “80s/90s kid” problem - there’s a book I can vaguely remember, but I can’t track it down anywhere on the Internet. I vaguely recall reading it in the early ‘90s - maybe around 1994 or 1995? So of course it may not be on the Internet at all - 1997/8 seems to be around the general cut-off for Internet memory. (Which fits - ‘97 was the first time I recall seeing an email address, and it really confused me because I had no idea what I was looking at. As I recall, 1998 was about the year when everything went WWW-crazy, or at least it was in the UK anyway. I suspect the States may have been a year or two ahead of us in that regards.)

Anyway, maybe - just maybe - one of you has heard of this book, and can put me out of my confusion. Under the cut are the details I remember...

I don’t remember the title, or the author, or any of the characters’ names. (Because that’s how my brain rolls, unfortunately.)

What I do remember is the basics of the plot.

The viewpoint character lived on a terraformed moon of - IIRC - Jupiter. I think the moon may have been Amalthea, though I’m not 100% sure of that. (Apparently there was a gravity generator buried somewhere inside Amalthea, and it had been given an artificial sunlet, so the premise isn’t quite as ludicrous as it sounds.)

She’s just reached adulthood, and was about to be assigned a job. Only the one she got assigned was some unbelievably boring clerical-admin job. (Apparently they still have paper-and-ringbinder filing in this future, because I guess the book was written in the late ‘80s, and the IT revolution hadn’t really bedded into most peoples’ heads yet.) She promptly rebels, and ends up escaping along with some other misfits, as they seek to track down a possible alien spaceship that may be approaching the solar system.

The solar system itself is apparently run by a state/organisation calling itself the System. Its titular head was titled president, but as I recall it was despotic in character rather than any sort of democracy. From what I recall of its description, the System was a sort of centrally-planned economy, but didn’t seem to have any kind of recognisable socialist ideology. It was also apparently quite corrupt and poorly-administered - a lot of the solar system’s various colonies seemed to have severe economic problems. There’s also various other weirdness going on - Earth had apparently been abandoned due to (IIRC) severe pollution, though the planet was apparently still just habitable enough to allow for short visits. (I recall a scene where a System shuttle knocks over one of Stonehenge’s monoliths, though I don’t recall any more context.)

Apparently the System had emerged out of a series of events called the Colony Wars, which had presumably cratered whatever governmental structure that had existed beforehand. It justified itself as a means of avoiding any further colonial wars, though this didn’t stop the System from doing some pretty awful things. I think I recall that the main character’s home-moon gets blown up by the government in the first book, ostensibly because it was slightly behind on its industrial production targets. (Incidentally, from a purely Keynesian point of view, this course of action makes zero sense!)

I think there may also have been a sequel-novel, and from what little I recall, I think it was a bit weird. (I recall something about a bizarre institution/faction calling itself the Honeywell, which I think was somewhere on Earth - apparently unbothered by the ruinous pollution - and was run by someone called Mama. It was faintly-odd, TBH.)

Anyway, if any of this rings any bells, please let me know! For some reason this book has always stuck in my head, and it would be nice to exorcise that.

Yoonmin Fandom Metrics

 Last month a survey was conducted to analyze the metrics of the Yoonmin fandom. Here are some of the responses:

Of these 903 responses, 826 of them (92%) of the respondents had selected that yoonmin are their only ship, their main ship or one of their main ships. This group is the one that will be focused on for the rest of this analysis. (Also was that one person lost? Did you get home okay?)

Of this focus group who mainly ship yoonmin, the bias distribution was:

Unsurprisingly, Min Yoongi and Park Jimin, the two individuals responsible for the YOON and the MIN in yoonmin, came out as the top two biases’. 

However, Min Yoongi, with a staggering count of 453 votes (55%) heavily outweighed all the other members, hereby proving that he was in fact not fucking around when he claimed “Sorry mom, your son’s too popular,” in his Mic Drop verse. 

As a follow up to these results, respondents provided their second bias (if any) to help the other members stand a chance against Rap God Min Yoongi. 

(He still took a whopping 23% of the votes). 

The most interesting part about these graphs is that it alludes to the fact that most yoonmin stans bias Yoongi (not Jimin, although he is obviously second in rank). This is probably due to the fact that of the “popular” bangtan ships, Jimin’s name comes up multiple times. Thus Jimin stans are more evenly split in who they ship Jimin with, but there are not that many “popular” Yoongi ships.

A little more detail on the focus group and how they came to stan bts and ship yoonmin is summarized in the following graphs.

BTS’ popularity has grown exponentially, with the greatest increase seen from 2014-2015 due to the release of their HYYH series. A parallel trend was observed in this analysis with the growth of the Yoonmin Fandom.

The next part of the survey focused on “Secondary Fan Creations” as Mr. Bang likes to call them. This includes but is not limited to: fan art, fan fiction, photo edits, video edits, blog posts, memes and so forth.

The results show that 99% of us are on Tumblr for the right reasons.

In terms of creating fan content, 31% of the respondents bless us on the daily with their contributions to the fandom. (Amen.) The rest of the majority enjoys and wishes to contribute to doing the lord’s work. 2% of the respondents who consider yoonmin their main or only ship do not create or want to create fan content because they think it is wrong (and that’s okay - to each their own). 

The next question was the most revealing and one of the most important to this analysis. Of the 861 responses, 640 voted that the reason they ship yoonmin is due to their relationship / interactions themselves. Only 2-4% of the respondents said they shipped yoonmin because of how they look together/aesthetics, fan content, external influences, or the availability of yoonmin materials in the fandom itself. This outright disproves the common (and tired) anti-yoonmin stan (and “rare pair” stan) claims that yoonmin is usually shipped for these reasons.  

Of the 30 respondents that chose “other” their reasons often eluded to specifics moments / interactions by yoonmin. Some of the more notable mentions are:

“They look like they understand each other’s struggles.“

“Their real and supportive friendship, they know each other's limits and share their vulnerabilities, so soft for each other, involve each other in the most intimate parts of their life.”

“Everything?? Idk they just vibe with me best, they're lovely and sift but also savage and have a really fun dynamic that i enjoy best.. they calm me when I’m upset as well which is like surprising bc I don’t calm down easily. +their soft moments like the earlier answer.” 

“Because Yoongi is so whipped for Jimin and they look at each other like they have galaxies in their eyes“ 

“They look like they are real / they act like they are married / they honestly seem like they’re in love.” 

“the way they are with each other in general. platonic or not, they love each other, care for each other a lot and it's nice to see. “

“From what I saw, it felt very real. Like yeah, I could get that super unbreakable bond with all of the BTS ships but for some reason, Yoonmin just stuck out for me and it felt really genuine and not just for fanservice.“ 

“Just...everything” (Many of you said this or voted for multiple categories from the above so everything x 10)

“You Know” (thank you Anonymous, I do know :’). 

There were so many other great ones yoonmin is such a soft ship with even softER STANS istg but I won’t post them all here but you can see them in this supporting post.

It is commonly believed that ALL yoonmin stans only ship them because of the “typical” subby bottom jimin/ dom top yoongi stereotype. The data below proves this is untrue - as 34% of respondents don’t care at all or like all dynamics equally, and 18% prefer a more balanced switch relationship dynamic. Combined, the votes for these categories make up over 50% of the responses, signifying that, no, not all yoonmin stans, in fact not even the majority of yoonmin stans, ship them for this reason. 

It should be noted though that, of the 48% of fans who expressed a preference for a specific relationship dynamic, 5% preferred top jimin and 43% preferred top yoongi (so yeah, top yoongi is more popular, but only to the minority group of the stans who actually have a specific dynamic preference).

Similar results were observed for which dynamics yoonmin stans feel are most realistic.

Ooh, you're still taking Kastle drabble prompts? You're so generous! I've read everything you've written for this ship and I just love it all; you have such a talent for it. If you have the time could you possibly write some variation of 66 "The only thing I want is you." Or 97 "I want you and I know you want me too."

Drunk Frank Castle is a force to be reckoned with, just as Karen had suspected. He’s relaxed but high energy, physical but withdrawn. A series of contradictions wrapped up in a cloud of bourbon-haze and a wide, lax smile.

He’s laying on her couch, head pillowed on her thigh. Minutes ago her hand had strayed too close and he’s long since begun drawing patterns on her palm with his fingers. It’s a comforting feeling, having him here, having him drop down his walls enough to get this hammered with her. They are celebrating after all.

“I can’t believe you’re taking over Anvil,” she says for about the hundredth time. It’s not a job she would have pictured him in, but once he’d told her about it she couldn’t see it any other way.

Frank lets out a whoosh of air that sounds a little like a sigh. “Madani offered. I took it. Tha’s all.”

“Does this mean you’re going to start wearing suits?” Karen recalls the impeccably dressed Billy Russo, and has a hard time imagining the look on Frank.

His answering snort is enough. “You’d love that.”

“Yep.” Karen pops the word, smiling distantly. She hates thinking about his trial, but he had looked great in the courtroom during it–even covered in bruises. She would definitely be curious to see what a three piece suit unbruised would do to her emotions. Or her libido, for that matter.

His head moves and he looks up at her, brows raised. “Oh yeah? That what you want–me in a suit?”

“The only thing I want is you.” Frank stills. Karen pauses, realizing with a flush what had escaped her mouth. Damn whiskey. “I mean, you happy. I want you to be happy.”

Frank squints up at her, nose scrunching up like he doesn’t quite believe her. He sits up and turns to face her. She knows she’s been caught by the slow grin that’s lifting his cheeks. “Yeah?”

She hums. “Of course. What, do you think I have some ulterior motive here?”

“Startin’ to, sweetheart.”

Karen’s brows raise. If he’s throwing out pet names, he must be more drunk than she realized. Not that she’s any better off, but this is uncharted territory for them. Usually at least one of them is sober enough to–…To hold back. To be responsible, she thinks. He catches her pensive look and frowns, but his flushed cheeks and glassy eyes make it seems more of a pout.

“Didn’t mean t’ offend,” he grumbles.

Karen gives him a slow grin. “You know we’re both drunk, right?” His answering blank stare prods her forward. “That means neither of us has one of those little voices telling us not to do–…stuff.”

“What kind of stuff?” He sounds intrigued, and a little playful. It’s new on him, and she finds that she likes the teasing in his voice just as much as the deep timbre of his normal voice. She leans forward and hovers, lips a breath away from his own. She flicks her eyes up to his..

“Oh,” she ponders as he stares down at her, “Normal stuff. Like what two normal people would do when they’re celebrating and a little drunk.”

“A little?”

She laughs, a soft huff against his lips. “Okay, a lot drunk.”

He leans forward, but only to rest his forehead against her own. The whiskey on his breath makes shives break out on her skin. “Karen,” he sighs, fingers brushing along her spine. “don’t do this to me.”

“Do what?” She wants to kiss him, god she wants to kiss him. She stays still.

“This is it for me.” He opens his eyes to stare at her, expression intense and gentle and wild and tender all at once. It makes her head spin. “If I kiss you now, you gotta know—this is it. You prepared for that?”

“Are you?” She challenges. Even drunk, she’s never been one to back down.

Frank searches her face for something, and she assumes he finds it because then he’s sweeping her up, hands on her, lips on her own, breath hot and needy in her mouth. He makes a small noise when he hands dip under his shirt to brush over the smooth muscles there. She grins against his lips, trailing kisses across his jaw, his scruff prickling her.

Several hot, breathy minutes later Frank stills beneath her. She pulls away to look at him and a hum of satisfaction buzzes through her at the sight. His short curls are in disarray, his shirt halfway up his stomach, and his pupils are blown. He takes a quick breath and looks at her in amazement.

“How long you been plannin’ this, Page?”

Her look of feigned innocence doesn’t fool him. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Frank. I’m just a woman kissing a man.”

He huffs a laugh, his fingers brushing up her spine. At some point she had crawled onto his lap and both her knees were planting firmly on either side of his thighs. He lets his head drop back against the couch to look at her properly. “Ain’t nobody think you’re just a woman, Karen Page.”

She laughs loud. “Flatterer.”

“Maybe. True, though.” His lashes flutter and he tilts his chin up towards her. “Now c’mere, I’m not done with you yet.”

“Hope that’s a promise,” she shoots back, and then he’s kissing her again and she doesn’t say much more after that.

51. current stresses? Life hahah Nah but seriously a bunch of little nothings. My flat, I am stressed my grades won'T be good this semester. My car ( which is fine and has been for over a month), my cat having difficulties getting used to the new place... Loads of small little things.

53. what is the current state of your hands? They are clean and I just put lotion on them so they smell like vanilla. B But also A mess? Haha Up until two weeks ago I was working not only a very physical job but also one that messed up my hands. I have cuts everywhere on them and even a new scar cause of it. They will be fine in a week or two :)

One on my ankle from whe I fell in the ditch when learning how to bike without the little wheels. One on my knee cause I am just that talented that I fall over nothing x) A new one on my hand from work... Seriously the list goes on hahha but I do have scars.
