pain might have stapled me to this bed but with the power of super long cord and squinting my eyes I can still use my drawing tablet from across the room

New Essay I've been working on for the past bit. It's on Tony Domenico's 3d Workers Island. I'm surprised I haven't seen much in analysis really despite how rich it is.

something something one of those those "Jango falls for Courtesan/Stripper/NightclubSinger/TrophyWife!Obi-Wan" AUs...
But instead Obi-Wan actually being a sex worker, he's undercover and still a Jedi, and either:
They split ways and run into each other a few months later with Obi-Wan in full Prude Beige Knight mode OR
The situation goes pear-shaped while they're still flirting and Obi-Wan has to break cover to grab a senator and jump out a window and suddenly this half-dressed glittery Person is batting away shots with a lightsaber and there's a bratty twelve-year-old who ALSO has a lightsaber threatening people with I Will Eat Your Liver if they keep staring at his dad's ass just because the sequined sheathe dress tore in a sexy place

Etsy Shoppers: Were you scammed into overpaying for an item you thought was handmade, only to have it arrive with an obvious "Made in" tag?

Not a shopper, but a seller who's had your wares resold, designs stolen, or otherwise been screwed over by dishonest resellers? This is for you too!

having my first proper Feuilly Moment after skimming an old article on the labor movement in the period immediately after the july revolution.... did you guys know. skilled artisans and craftsmen who made fine goods (Like Fan Makers) were hit hardest by the post-revolution recession because of how many aristocrats were in exile & the sudden drop in tourism. and the dissatisfaction & unrest amongst said artisans and craftsmen was a Big part of the beginning of the formation of secret societies like the society of the rights of man which was the real-life revolutionary group leading the 1832 june rebellion. did you guys know that there is a constant line connecting real-life struggle for progress with that in les miserables. and that line spans past and future. before and after publication. did you guys know that the fan makers really died. did you know we really, really remember them.

Yeah it wasn't great lol
I spent most of that day in the medical tent (I went as soon as I felt *off*) and the health workers took great care of me and were super nice so it worked out in the end. First time going to a music festival was really an experience huh

I'm sick of hearing sex workers who have never sold sex itself speaking as if they're an authority on issues which impact hookers because they're a sex worker too.
I'm especially sick of non sex workers just assuming that anyone who has ever made porn or stripped understands the experience that full service sex workers have, and taking their word for it when they talk about what that kind of sex work is like and what laws we want.
If you want to know what people who sell sex need, and what it's like, you need to hear from people who sell sex.

"Sex work is disgusting" sex workers are people, here, and they read what you write.
"Porn is harmful and should not be viewed" by everyone? Every kind of porn? Why? Hard disagree.
"Sex work should be illegal because all sex workers need to be saved from it" what about sex workers who do it by choice because they want to and they enjoy their job?
What about not painting an extremely complicated industry with one broad brush and causing more harm than the good you think you're doing by condemning it?
I was a camgirl. I met so many people in my industry, both patrons and providers, who benefitted hugely from it.
-phone sex for people who are lonely and have no one to share their thoughts and kinks and desires with and aren't comfortable in person, on camera, and can only express themselves this way?
-disabled people who have no other outlet due to physical or mental disabilities that limit them but they do have a sex drive and deserve to express themselves safely
- agoraphobic sex workers! A way to work from home and earn more than bare minimum?
And MANY MANY MORE
Sex work for me? I was providing companionship, kindness, body positivity, support, and many other positive things to my patrons on top of sex related services and while I did burn out and I did have bad experiences I was blessed to be able to enter and exit the industry by choice.
Support sex workers. Listen to sex workers. And understand that not all patrons of sex work are 'bad' either, and are sometimes just people accessing an offered service and everything's consenting and mutually beneficial.
Yeah, sometimes it isn't. Yes, there are major issues. Yes, there is a lot of bad stuff, especially involving the rules around in person (full service) sex work. I am not saying any of that isn't true. But there are real people doing real work that isn't harmful as well, and it helps no one to demonize sex work as an entire industry.

New article: Is Dropshipping Indie Selling? (No.)
There has been a recent influx of social media accounts made to advertise The Wonders Of Dropshipping on any post mentioning ecommerce. Many of these seem to be bots, but a real person must be behind them -- so our very own Alex R. of @handmadehazefromtheheart decided to write up an article responding to the idea that these ecommerce "guru" types overlap with our member base of online indie sellers.
Excerpt:
To a consumer, the process of buying from big name versus indie online storefronts is the same: see the pictures, read the description, click “purchase,” and wait for a package. That standard makes it pretty easy for another kind of online seller to present you with a product on an original-looking webpage, accept your money in exchange for the promise of shipment — and then turn around and give (some of) that money to an actual supplier that sends you your purchase. [...] Ultimately, the Indie Sellers Guild seeks to be an online extension of the labor movement. In capitalism, things are often divided into a working class and an owning class, and we’re here for the working class. [...] [D]ropshipping is a way to claw at the benefits of being part of the owning class: gaining profit for nothing more than inserting yourself into a transaction that doesn’t need you to operate fairly. We don’t condone that, and we don’t represent that.
View it in full here.
For some insightful thoughts on print-on-demand selling -- something that we don't all agree falls under "dropshipping" but does overlap -- you'll find a link inside to another article by Valerie of Artisans Cooperative.

So a close friend of mine (They want their name kept out) received numerous death threats over anonymous asks last night (if you saw the post before they took it down you know.) The point is I doubt anyone will do very much about it except punish them further. Didnt Mr. Tech bro baby boy Matt state while he was harassing Rita on Twitter that all death threats need to be reported to the proper authorities to be investigated as a real threat? Well I'd say they were real fucking tangible threats. Yet who will get punishment? Certainly not the anonymous beta ass terfs.
Get fucked - A loud ass tranny fag bitch.

Tired of living in a period of enabled overconsumption and the quality of everything being replaced for cheaper alternatives with only higher prices. Tired of corporations being able to get away with selling products that won't last. Tired of unnecessary mass manufacturing. Tired of trends and impulsive purchases being encouraged by companies. Tired of celebrities being worshipped whilst they help destroy the environment. Tired of micro transactions and blatantly invasive advertisements everywhere. Tired of false advertisement, misinformation and clickbait being normalised. Tired of corporate fear mongering and blatant disregard of human livelihoods.
I'm so tired of all the wastefulness and cruelty and how corporations can just get away with it.
#dont get me started on corporations that make millions who don't pay their workers accordingly and give them inhumane hours#or those “doctors” on social media that are clearly just trying to get you to buy products and people fall for it#or “influencers” who you'd swear couldn't lick jeff bezos' boots any harder than they already do with their “amazon finds”#mlm schemes have been around forever but they're getting worse with how they reel people in#the rampant hate and disgusting shit that goes unchecked online makes me sick#especially when posts online are deliberately spreading misinformation just to fuel the hate for minorities#I feel like humanity is going back in time god#the casual racism all the time makes me so sick#and the homophobia#“theres no ethical consumption under capitalism!” yeah but that doesnt mean you need to buy 50 fucking reusable cups from target or whereve#the state of the environment isn't the average person's fault of course but there's no need for all this mass consumption please#yes corporations are literally pouring sewage and litter in the ocean but please just try please#we can't fix it on our own but we can try to not make things worse#please find joy in things that aren't spending thousands on a corporate product#please#I need to lie down honestly#mick squeaks#not sonic#environment#anti corporations#anti consumption#anti consumerism#please don't get all “oh so we can't be happy now??” because this isn't an attack this is a plea
