I don't know how to describe the phenomenon of the younger generation understanding technology less than people in their late 20s-40s. However, the more time I teach, especially online classes, the more this seems to be true because the younger generation didn't have to learn to troubleshoot as much.
I'm feeling very old man yells at cloud about this, but seriously? Can students just... play around with the technology their teacher tells them to use for like 5 minutes? That's literally all the time it should take to figure out how to properly share a file with me so that I can actually view it. (If I can make the technology work, so can you!)

How to Sell Online Courses: The Complete Guide
Tumblr media
How to Decide on a Course Topic?
This is the most important question you need to find answers to. Let’s see how we can find our topic. Once you have decided to teach people online, you already have some expertise in your field. Now we need to find out if people are interested in learning about this topic and actually will be happy to pay for it. Below are, some steps you can do to find out if your topic will sell or not.
Search on youtube with your topic on youtube.
Start searching on different eCommerce platforms such as amazon, and eBay where digital or physical books are sold. You need to find out if there are books out there on your topic and if people are buying them websites tries. It’s that simple!
You should go out on popular course websites such as Udemy, Coursera, etc to find out if there are courses out there.
You can search on social media platforms and find out if there are groups where people are discussing the topic that you are planning to sell as a course online.
Finally, if you have friends, family, and followers, you can directly ask them if they would be interested in something like what you are planning.
Prepare yourself on your topic
At this stage, you already know the topic for your online course. Now, you need to brainstorm and do all the homework such as gathering references, studying, practicing, and doing some trials of yourself. It’s always better to check how other people sell courses online and how they present their skills to the students. Once you study other people as well, you will get plenty of ideas to make yourself better. It’s the beauty of knowledge!
Find out your ideal best online course platform
Once you are ready with your course syllabus and other materials, you will need some ways to create your online course. Here EzyCourse will help you to get started from scratch. You can create courses with EzyCourse completely for free and start earning without any commissions or transaction fees.
Start creating your course content with ezycourse.
Tumblr media
At this point, you are fully ready to create your course and upload your course content. You need to plan how you will approach and complete your syllabus and how your students will progress from start to end. So you need to divide your online course contents into chapters and lessons. Once you finish deciding, you can easily create chapters and different types of lessons easily. You can rearrange chapters, and lessons at any time.
Tumblr media
Set up your course pricing
This is the sweet part of this whole journey. We need to decide on a good pricing model that people would be willing to pay. You can set up a one-time or monthly subscription pricing. Let’s find out when to decide between these two. Answer the following questions.
Is this course a continuous learning type?
Do people need to access it frequently every month option?
Are you going to invest your time in supporting the students?
If the answers are “Yes”, we would suggest starting a subscription pricing. With EzyCourse, you can offer “Community and Group chat” as an add-on for free or with an added price. This way, your students will be super active and engaging. This is also a great option to increase your revenue.
Tumblr media
With EzyCourse, you can sell your courses to organizations with “Tiered pricing” as an option. With this option, any organization buys a number of seats and gets the volume discount you provide, and invites their own members themselves leaving all the management work to them. A great way to stop piracy and increase revenue!
Design your course landing page or use the drag-and-drop default one.
You can start by using our default course detail page or design your custom landing page by using our powerful drag-and-drop page builder. You can insert any templates or blocks you like instantly and start editing or adding.
Tumblr media
Offer upsell for your course and increase revenue
At this point, you are almost ready to publish your course, but before you start publishing the course, you should look at the upsell features we have. You can up to 20 upsell items and unlimited add-on per upsells.
Tumblr media
You can offer a community, a group chat, or another course in your upsell. Students have the choice if they want to buy that upsell product or not. Upsell products are normally designed to give a little discount if they have that item together with the main product. It’s a win-win situation for both parties. For example, let’s say you created a course on “How to sell a product on amazon”, with this product, you can sell another related product let’s say “How to market your amazon product” etc. This way related product has higher chances to get sold as well. You have full control to decide the pricing and add-on items.
Publish your course
It’s time to go live and publish your course. Start sharing links with your friends, family, and followers. We will cover how to market your online course to your audience in a very effective way in another blog post.
Thank you for reading and hope this guide helps you :)

How can I make my career in teaching after a BCom?
If you are passionate about teaching and have completed a BCom degree, there are several avenues available for you to pursue a career in teaching. Teaching is a rewarding profession that can provide you with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your students. Here are some steps you can take to make a career in teaching after a BCom:
Identify Your Area of Expertise: The first step in making a career in teaching is to identify your area of expertise. As a BCom graduate, you can consider teaching subjects related to commerce such as accounting, economics, business studies, and management.
Obtain a Teaching Qualification: To become a teacher, you need to have a teaching qualification. You can either pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree. A B.Ed degree is typically a two-year program, while an M.Ed degree is a one-year program. You can choose the one that suits your career aspirations.
Gain Practical Teaching Experience: Gaining practical teaching experience can be very beneficial when pursuing a career in teaching. You can consider volunteering at schools or coaching institutes, which can help you gain valuable experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and student engagement.
Apply for Teaching Jobs: Once you have obtained your teaching qualification and have gained some practical experience, you can start applying for teaching jobs. You can search for job openings on various job portals, school websites, or by networking with other teachers in your area.
Enhance Your Professional Skills: As a teacher, it is important to continually enhance your professional skills. You can attend workshops, seminars, and training programs related to teaching, which can help you improve your teaching methodologies, learn new techniques, and stay updated with the latest teaching trends.
Consider Private Tutoring: Private tutoring can be a lucrative career option for teachers. You can consider offering private tutoring services to students who need extra help with their studies. You can start by advertising your services through social media platforms or by joining tutoring platforms such as Superprof or TutorMe.
Consider Online Teaching: Online teaching has become a popular career option for teachers, especially during the pandemic. You can consider teaching online courses or conducting virtual tutoring sessions. There are several online teaching platforms such as Udemy, Coursera, and Skillshare that offer teaching opportunities to professionals.
In conclusion, a BCom degree can provide a strong foundation for a career in teaching. By obtaining a teaching qualification, gaining practical teaching experience, and continually enhancing your professional skills, you can make a successful career in teaching. Additionally, considering private tutoring or online teaching can offer you even more flexibility and opportunities in your career.

I started teaching ESL on Preply! 🎉
It’s actually been a disaster so far. I got sick and had to reschedule some classes. I also had 3 last minute cancellations on the first day I was supposed to teach. Which is why I didn’t feel bad about rescheduling, since students cancel all the time. But I taught two classes back to back today and didn’t die, so that’s good.
Im still sick and lesson prepping is a slog. I just have zero energy for it. I’m also spending way too much time trying to find the “perfect” lesson materials and it’s just not worth it. I knew I’d get obsessive like this and waste so much time, but I can’t help it. I’m charging a low rate specifically so I don’t get all perfectionist about it, but I still am.
I’m also struggling to teach conversation classes. I struggle to come up with follow up questions to the discussion questions. I honestly shouldn’t be teaching conversation classes since I suck at conversations myself 😭
I’m also not sure how to teach grammar. If I pull up an explanation, I can explain things, but if I have to explain a grammar point on the spot, I just can’t. How am I supposed to know how to explain all the grammar? I’ve thought about watching grammar videos and taking notes on them, but that sounds ineffective. I think it’s just a matter of practice. But I just feel really insecure about my lack of knowledge. I mean I know everything intuitively, I just don’t know how to explain it. And I don’t know how to go about learning how to explain it.
Also, how on earth do you come up with example sentences off the top of your head??

Distance learning fucking sucked man…I hated it so much! I could teach in my dressing gown while smoking and I still wanted to be in the classroom.
But I’ll never forget coming back online from break, with my 3yo daughter on the webcam, leading a class of twelve grown adults, who were all enthusiastically reciting their ABCs with her.
