Week 5: Persona and Presentation

During week 5 is when we began the draft for our presentation, within the creation of our draft, we also work on creating a target persona based on our brief, empathy map and user journey. A persona is a representative of a user, helping designers and developers empathise with their users backgrounds and views. Creating presonas grounded in user research, design teams can avoid drawbacks associated with designing for extreme user anecdotes. We also went through a design thinking process map, including empathising, defining, ideating, prototyping and testing, however we only went into depth with empathising and defining so we could provide a clear and cohesive presentation on our understanding of the assignment and make the ideating and prototyping process much easier for ourselves in the future.

CUSTOMER PRESONA

• About Them – At pancha foods we are focusing on the 25-50 year of age demographic who is conscious about food product quality. Our consumer will average $45'000 a year of income and up. Theywill prefer to shop locally then from a big box purveyor (Walmart, etc). Our consumers also prefer a more gourmet product made with higher quality materials. Our demographic tend to cook at home at least 5 times a week and have an adventurous palette.

• Use Case – Our products can be used to enhance their daily menus, or help create new dishes. They can be paired with many foods, used as a marriages, seasonings or finishing sauces. The only limit is the limit of the home chef and how the chose to use the product.

• Previous Solution & Pain Points - while our product is not revolutionizing anything, it is giving the consumer another option. A healthier option to the mass produced high sodium, high glucose seasonings that are available out there today. The costumer with dietary restrictions will no longer have to go on to a producers web page to see all the small print ingredients, or try to guess what certain addiptive are.

• Benefits – By using our products the consumer will benefit from a healthier, locally produced in small batch product. Our company has 100% traceability to each product we make, insuring the customer will receive the gourmet product they expect.

• Buying Trigger – While our product is not for everyone, we saw that a group of clients are looking for an alternative to the products that are available in grocery store shelves.  Some may search for dietary reasons, others for a better produced gourmet product. The ability to be able to recognize the food that customers are consuming is a priority for many consumers.

• Buying process – Our product is easily accessible through our partners online store, Bar mar Bodega. We deliver the following day within the GTA. For further deliveries and can take up to 3 business days to receive. Payment is except online through debit or credit card, next day deliveries could be paid out in cash upon delivery. We are currently talking to a few food store owners and restaurantuers to see if we could create a partner for the future.

• Choice factors – Quality of the product is always very important and consistency. While I would recognize these as or customers choice factors we also factor in price. Keeping our products competitive in pricing is also important to many consumers.
