Modern day Affogato AU
____________________
_____________________________________________
✦ Characteristics:
For the sake of confusion, we’ll call this AU version of affogato „corpogato” because he runs a big ass company, obviously named Affocorp because he’d NEED his name plastered everywhere in the cacao kingdom, but in the modern day it would be called “The Cacao Republic”, as I believe it would be a communist country. The Cacao Republic is based off South Korea and Modern China. With the two cultures blending, representing the choco and coffee cookie descendants being in a cultural melting pot. This is not to be orientalist or mix two completely different cultures or ideas. The cacao republic faced a similar cultural revolution to China, heavily industrializing in its later days, and cacao’s leadership costed thousands of lives even if it wasn’t intentional. Many cacao residents suffered under said communism. For the conditions of these people, I referenced my own family’s experience in communism and stories I’ve read in books.
Affocorp is this mega corporation that started out as an unethical pharmacy, based on canon affogato’s link to medicine malpractice. At the time this pharmacy was called Affolabs, founded when Corpogato was just thirty. He has a master’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry, so he is well aware of what substances do what, but he isn’t too concerned of the harm. The scientists backing him were apart of a union he started in secret, composed of underpaid scientists with a vendetta against Dark Cacao. Soon enough, they practically became his most loyal subjects.
Affolabs created pills that were advertised as pain medicine and antibiotics, but they were either placebo or hallucinogenic. Some even made the symptoms of ailments worse so they bought more. This “get rich quick scheme” seemed to work pretty well for the soon-to-be corporate giant, because corpogato got the “BRILLIANT” idea,, to look at other avenues of manufacturing. Keep in mind, this man is fucking evil. He’s not a misunderstood villain, he’s not morally grey, he’s EVIL. VILE. FOUL. PUTRID. So, he looked at the rise of online clothing shopping, and how people were just looking for affordable clothing. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he found a poor community, and took advantage of their labor. He set up a sweatshop, one of horrid conditions, set in the coldness of the northern cacao countryside. These workers had a terrible life ahead of them. Corpogato made their lives miserable, only working for a few coins an hour., yet the clothing was labeled as ethical, made from choco bamboo fibers or recycled material.
While he ran this hellscape, he set up his clothing brand extension: Affoexpress. Affoexpress was very much like what you think of when you imagine fast fashion. Think of it like Shein, Zara, or Romwe. Affoexpress, little by little, gained popularity, before exploding in sales with many cacao residents for its affordable prices. Many cacao residents are in poverty or at least close to it, because cacao cannot for his life manage the republic’s money, leading to a command economy. Corpogato jumped on this shit immediately. He took advantage of his preexisting close ties with cacao to “take his place.” He essentially began to expand the branches of his companies to manufacture more and more products until eventually he could make it so people could ONLY buy his products. As this plan took motion, he centralized his companies, it was now Affocorp. Each of his other companies were now just branches of Affocorp, so he could now keep a watchful eye on all of them. Corpogato had a stiff hold on his employees, he had practically a cult following on social media, and a quite literal cult underneath the layers of Affocorp. The cult in secret was very ritualistic, made up of Corpogato’s early team of scientists, who have slowly been brainwashed into unwavering loyalty. Affogato now with government power, as he did take advantage of his closeness with Cacao, bought properties, and housed his most loyal subjects. They viewed him as their savior, getting them out of the grasp of poverty, “saving their career” and now they repay him by practical worship. Corpogato made it get to a point to where they started to view him as a prophet of sorts, as Corpogato slowly laced their food and residential running water with the very substances they created.
Affoexpress started to sell more than just clothing, they began to sell cheap electronics and mini appliances. In order to do this, corpogato had to set up more and more factories, contributing to the growing air pollution of the cacao republic, leading the cacao citizens to go to his companies for medicine and masks to wear for protection from the air.
He essentially made the cacao people rely on his affocorp for every day life. Under all of this was something more sinister if you thought it couldn’t get any worse, corpogato was looking at oil drilling in secret, because once you get ahold of oil, you get ahold of the world.

Design choices:
His cult emblem, its central to his body because it is central to his existence, he cannot keep on if his cult cannot.
He was given soft curls as it was remnant of his milk ancestry.
His jacket was based off of his Silla Era hanbok in his canon design.
I imagine affogato has weak knees, as he probably grew up malnourished with a genetic disposition to low iron from a very young age, which can lead to various health problems. So his staff is likely functional, and that’s why I gave him a dripped out cane.
These pants are based off of the “Baji” or pants of the hanbok.
His eyes were tilted further to the center of his face to have a more direct stare, like he’s staring into your thoughts. I also gave him little blush marks because he’d likely apply that to appear more approachable and harmless. I also gave him a wrinkle thing that most older cookies have because this man is probably pushing 50.
If you use the sprite anywhere credit would be kewl

do you have any advice for anyone just entering their 20s
im not exactly the expert here given that i am still in my 20s but heres what i got
you can just lie on your resume. a lot of places wont even check if you have the degree you say you have so you may as well wing it
start getting fitter before you develop 1 million problems from your job running you into the ground/poison in the air and the water/etc. just like yoga and walking around and stuff is fine
dont take any opioids you didnt get directly from a pharmacy
if you end up owing medical debt for whatever reason just get in touch with your hospital/doctor/whatever and theyll usually have resources to forgive it or knock it down to a lower amount. and by the time it gets sold to a debt collector theyll usually only be asking for a fraction of it anyway
even if youre still living with your parents you can have a sex life. its not hard. you can sneak the other person in or go over to their place or just fuck in a car
you can make a bong out of so many things in your environment once you get the basic physics of it
join a club or take up a hobby or do literally anything to build a real life friend group. if you only talk to online ppl your sense of perspective gets really skewed and you start saying shit like "people who like piss have it so easy compared to people who like doodoo" in public
i hope that helps

My US tourist visa got approved!!!
After graduating in 2018, all I ever thought was becoming a pharmacist in the US. I studied the process and made sure I understood what I needed. The very reason why I pursued the Doctor of Pharmacy program is because they required foreign graduates to have this degree before we are able to take the equivalency exam. After getting the PharmD degree, one big obstacle I had to face was getting a tourist visa because exams are only held in the US, even the English exam. I read testimonies from different people online and I lost hope because I didn't have strong ties to the Philippines back then. I thought it was going to be an impossible journey to consider. Which is why I researched more about Australia instead.
Initially, I planned to just make Australia my stepping stone before I eventually continue my plans to move to the US as a pharmacist. However, after getting exhausted after a year of internship, I decided that it was gonna be the last academic exam I'm gonna take. I was so done with endless studying just to pass an exam. My main priority is to make money and save up for my future, which I know I am capable of doing now in Australia. I don't want to go through all the hassle again of researching about the visa that will make me stay longer in a certain country, exams I have to study for all night long, trying to adapt to a new culture. I now just want to enjoy life and focus on honing my skills work-wise.
I rarely give myself credit, but I'm so happy and proud of how far I've come now. Looking back, I was just struggling how to get that tourist visa and now I easily got it after 4 questions. I will see whether visiting USA will actually make me want to continue my American dream or not.

The Collectors Weekly antique enthusiast website got a sleek modern new update. In the process, all old comments on articles were deleted. Although this is another ember in the ever-burning library, I think at least a few good things came out of it because old Collectors Weekly comment sections were among the most viciously toxic places on the internet.
The background miasma of classist elitism combined with what seemed like at least 20% of users solely there for Nazi memorabilia needs no elaboration, but there were two specific comment section arguments that were so bad I still remember them.
There was an article by a man who travelled the world to collect gorgeously ornate opium smoking paraphernalia who became so dedicated to recreating the long-forgotten uses of his cryptic intricate little devices that he became addicted to opium and destroyed his health. In the comments, someone said something along the lines of, "You ruined your life for nothing. You have done no original research. You have contributed nothing to collective human knowledge. There is extensive research already being done on the pharmacological effects of specific opiates on receptors. It is insulting that you believe your research is at all worth reading." And then people started dogpiling this person like, "You missed the entire point of the article. It's not just about the medical effects of opium, it's about the emotional addiction of smoking surrounded by beautiful objects in a luxurious lounge and the feeling of uncovering something old and forgotten. It's funny how you say the author contributed no knowledge, but I learned a lot about history and culture from this article, things it seems you have no concept of." And then the first person was like, "I am a licensed pharmacologist currently doing PhD research on antibody binding patterns. The state of knowledge here is so tragic that you don't know how much you don't know." And then people were like, "What do antibodies have to do with anything in the article? It sounds like you're just here to brag about your degree. It doesn't matter how much you know about medicine. This article isn't about that." It went on for hundreds of comments with the first poster flatly refusing to accept that any non-medical-researcher had anything to contribute, or that cultural studies had any worth to human society. I think I stopped reading when someone said the first poster deserved to get murdered by an opiate addict robbing their pharmacy. There was an article featuring an interview with a lady who had a website where she experimentally recreated those insanely shitass 50s recipes created by advertisers to sell as much mayo and shortening as humanly possible. The entire comments section was filled with, "You mean like Lileks Gallery of Regrettable Food?" "James Lileks did it first." "Lileks ripoff. Read the original" with the occasional "All Lileks does is curate and commentate ads. She actually makes and eats these recipes." Apparently a vast majority of this article's audience read the title and first few words and then the compulsion to castigate a stupid, lazy, lying, pretentious, self-aggrandising, unskilled, over-praised WOMAN was so powerful that all their brains shut down before they could visually parse the modern real life photos of these foods and realise James Lileks doesn't have a full monopoly on discussing this era of American history online. Some commenters went on her website, where you'd think seeing actual step-by-step photos of these recipes and taste tester reactions would get it through their heads that she and Lileks were in fact doing very different things, but they continued calling her a lazy ripoff on her own site.

I think it's time for me to explain why I chose medical transition. Why I chose HRT. Because it was a choice. I didn't choose to be transgender but I did choose to seek medical transition.
I've talked a lot about how my dysphoria manifested differently. In case you missed those rants or want a re-cap: it didn't show up as negative feelings or a sudden loss of happiness. My dysphoria didn't have triggers. It came as a dull constant mute of all feeling and as a result I didn't come off distressed, but incredibly reserved. When I finally admitted to myself I felt the way I felt, I actually had to deliberately not consider myself physically transitioning. I asked myself that if I was just mental concept, no body, just a presence what would I want to be percieved as? A mans presence, a womans presence, or something else? And I landed on woman because I'd realized I'd already answered this question; online, none of my new friends had ever seen me, and they all knew me as a woman. I'd already made this choice.
So then came the question: what would make me feel comfortable? In an ideal world, with the body I have now, where none of the people that could ever matter care how I look, how would I like to make myself look? And I had a hard time answering this, I didn't know. I felt ... nothing. So I took a look at my past and realized I had many cool and good memories that I felt nothing but terrible being a part of at the time. The problem with each of those events ... was me. So with no degree of conviction I was making the right choice for myself, I took an educated guess at what I should do. The truth was that in those moments, I hated the idea of looking back at myself in the future. I hated the way I looked. I always thought I could have looked better but nothing I'd tried worked.
So I took a step forward and told myself that I could back out at any time. No shame, no hate. I could just ... stop. I went through the phone interviews because Covid shut down the in-person interviews. I went and got my blood tested. And I kept asking: am I going forward or going home? I still felt numb. I called pharmacy's, found one that would take the perscriptions, wrote down their information ... still numb. I sat down with the doctor, and lied through my teeth that I was excited and ready. Yep ... I lied. I wasn't feeling anything. It was just another day I felt nothing. I got the perscription ... filled it ... and on June 29th 2021, I stared a solid 30 minutes at those pills. Nothing. Not a feeling of joy or happiness ... just a hunch based on 25 years, 11 months, and 3 weeks of life experience that this was possibly the right choice ... maybe ... and I could back out at this moment. So I put in my hand 12mg Cyproterone and 2mg Estradiol. My dosage ... and asked myself: do I back out now?
But then it hit me: I'd already tried backing out. I'd already tried living life as a man and I sucked at it so much. I hated it. So many cool memories ruined because I wasn't me. I didn't look how I wanted to. If I could go back and live those moments as they were but looking how I would feel comfortable looking, I would, just to repair those memories, edit them so it was right. So I could take more joy out of them ... I wouldn't hesitate. Just so I could feel better about how I'd look back on them in the future. So I took those two pills and marched out of the kitchen. No more memories wasted looking foolish. Finally, I could begin making memories as ME. And it was about damn time.
I chose medical transition because I don't look how I want to look. I look in the mirror and see myself each day and go: "closer, but I need more" and "not quite". I'm not looking to be model perfect. I'm looking to be me. The woman I should have been years ago. I choose medical transition because it's for me. I don't care if I look "ugly" to someone else. I want to look pretty for myself and a complete trash bandit as I please. HRT provides that for me. Because at the end of the day, I have to live with myself, and I hated the flat chest and beard, and learning to "live with it" was the worst advice anyone has ever given me.

As a pharmacy tech trained by a pharmacist, and the daughter of two pharmacist (one of whom feels very strongly about this matter), my transmasc friends, please DO NOT use a 90-degree angle to access your multi-dose testosterone.
Going in at a 90-degree angle creates a high risk for 'coring' the rubber stopper-getting a piece of the stopper into the needle or left rolling around in your testosterone. Besides hurting a bit if you inject it, you're introducing potential contaminants into your HRT. You may also leave a hole in the stopper (especially if you're using a larger needle to draw up), further risking contamination. If you're going to be using this vial for a few months, as stressed above, you want to minimize that risk as much as possible.
For improved safety, you want to enter the stopper, bevel-up, at a 45-degree angle (or close-you don't have to get out a protractor here), then pull it up to a 90-dregree angle as you push it into the stopper (look at the video in the link below).
For reference, here is a brief medical paper about coring, and here is an article from a trans community group, complete with a video from an RN on how to avoid coring your vial.
I second everything @lesbiantestsubject says in terms of obtaining your HRT-pharmacies are way too understaffed to bother, even with testosterone (I can even remember one pt I had who picked up 30mls of testosterone every month-seemed odd but wasn't my business). In fact the main problem I foresee is them keeping it stocked.
Be safe all.
Disclaimer: Please do not come to me for medical advice as I'm not legally allowed to give it. This is for educational purposes and I'm simply gathering publicly-accessible information that can be found online that was taught to me while I studied to become a pharmacy technician.
Stockpile HRT now.

She's a 4th year pharmaceutical student currently studying abroad in Egypt after her school in Gaza was destroyed.
She needs to complete her goal of $20,000 CAD by her deadline for university registration, which is Sep 18 in Egypt's timezone. To be safe, I've set this at 12am. As of posting this, she has just under 281 hours (12 days) to reach her goal.
Despite being vetted, her campaign is moving very slowly and she goes days without donations.
As of writing this, she'd need to raise about $375 CAD each day.

Approvals for Universities in India | University Approvals in India – Online Vidya
In India, the higher education sector is vast and diverse, with numerous universities offering a wide array of courses across disciplines. However, the credibility of these institutions depends significantly on their approval and recognition by regulatory bodies. Understanding the approval process is crucial for students looking to pursue higher education in India. Online Vidya plays an essential role in guiding students to choose accredited and recognized institutions, ensuring they make informed decisions. This blog explores the types of approvals for universities in India and the regulatory bodies involved.
Types of University Approvals in India
University Grants Commission (UGC) Approval: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is the primary regulatory body responsible for overseeing university education in India. It ensures that universities maintain high standards of teaching, research, and infrastructure. Universities recognized by the UGC are eligible for government funding and can confer degrees recognized across India. It’s essential for students to check if the university is UGC-approved, as this affects the value of their degree.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Approval: AICTE plays a critical role in regulating and accrediting technical education in India, such as engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, and other professional courses. Universities offering technical courses must have AICTE approval to ensure their programs meet national standards for technical education. Without AICTE accreditation, degrees in technical fields may not be recognized by employers or other educational institutions.
National Board of Accreditation (NBA) Accreditation: The NBA is responsible for accrediting undergraduate and postgraduate programs in technical disciplines. Universities and institutes that offer engineering, technology, and management programs seek NBA accreditation to assure students and employers that their programs meet global standards of quality. NBA accreditation is an essential mark of distinction for universities offering technical courses.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Accreditation: NAAC evaluates and accredits higher education institutions in India based on quality and performance. Universities that undergo NAAC accreditation are assessed in various areas, such as teaching-learning processes, infrastructure, research output, and student services. NAAC accreditation is an essential criterion for institutions aiming to maintain or enhance their reputation in the academic community.
Distance Education Bureau (DEB) Approval: As the demand for online and distance learning grows, the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) under the UGC ensures that universities offering distance education programs maintain the same level of quality as traditional on-campus education. The DEB approval is crucial for universities offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through online or distance learning modes.
State Government Approvals: In addition to national-level approvals, universities in India must also obtain recognition from the respective state governments. State universities often have their own set of regulatory guidelines and approvals. It is essential to verify if a state university is duly recognized by the state government, as this will affect the validity of the degree.
The Importance of University Approvals
Validity of Degrees: One of the primary reasons university approvals are crucial is that they determine the legitimacy of a degree. Employers and other educational institutions in India and abroad recognize degrees only from approved universities. A degree from an unapproved institution may not be accepted for higher studies or employment opportunities.
Quality Assurance: University approvals ensure that institutions meet specific standards in terms of faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and student welfare. This ensures that students receive quality education and are well-prepared to enter the workforce or pursue further studies.
Access to Funding and Scholarships: Approved universities are eligible for government grants, funding, and scholarships that can benefit students financially. Institutions that are not recognized by the appropriate bodies may not offer such opportunities to students.
International Recognition: Many students aspire to pursue higher education abroad. A degree from a UGC-recognized or AICTE-approved university holds international value, making it easier for graduates to apply to foreign universities or seek international employment.
How to Verify University Approval?
UGC and AICTE Websites: The official UGC and AICTE websites maintain lists of approved and accredited universities and institutions. Students can verify the recognition status of a university by visiting these websites.
University Website: Most universities proudly display their approval and accreditation statuses on their official websites, along with certificates or documentation verifying their credentials.
NAAC and NBA Websites: NAAC and NBA also provide lists of accredited institutions on their official platforms.
Conclusion
Choosing the right university is a significant decision for any student. Understanding the importance of university approvals in India helps ensure that students invest in institutions that offer credible, high-quality education. The right accreditation not only guarantees a valid degree but also opens doors to better opportunities in education and employment.

Benefits of Online Health Courses for Professionals
Continuing education is essential for many professionals in the healthcare industry, including but not limited to nurses, case managers (and social workers), rehab counselors and long-term care providers. This gave R1 and Pirate learning a bad name, because done right, online learning can offer more flexibility than the traditional classroom with less cost. This article will dive into these benefits and what they mean for both healthcare workers as well as patients or clients receiving the care. It also points to the reasons younger healthcare providers are gravitating toward this approach.
Flexibility: Take courses part-time, around your busy schedule
Many healthcare professionals work long hours; there are very few in person classes they can attend. Quality knowledge is needed to be acquired and online learning provides complete independence for studying anytime from anywhere so that you can take care of your job as well as other missed responsibilities. This gives learners the freedom to access course materials and complete assignments whenever it suits them — whether they want to study first thing in the morning or after dinner. Professionals who pursue an online MBA can work around their prior obligations and schedules, eliminating the need to put careers or personal lives on hold while furthering one's education.
For those in the baseball business, that's a high-quality education.
Now, online degree programs are of much higher quality and built with healthcare professionals in mind. Courses by professionals: Accredited courses are written and produced by individuals who have the expertise, which means you'll learn what's currently relevant in an industry. Online programs also can offer features to help learners absorb more from their coursework, such as video lectures, case studies and simulating real-world applications.
Also, in online learning industry you get personalised handholding. Through learning management systems, instructors are able to track student progress and provide personalized feedback and support. This guarantees that they are supported in their work no matter the class size.
Value for Money: Reducing Price Barriers
Traditional education has high tuition fees, the cost of textbooks and commuting, as well costly employer-provided stipends. This is where online learning comes in as a more budget-friendly option, while almost eliminating some of these costs. For instance, someone interested in being a pharmacy technician can undergo online programs like Pharmacy Technician Bootcamp offer a competitive price point and the resources they provide help make costly textbooks less of a burden.
Online training is an economical option for healthcare agencies that prefer to avoid travel and off-site training sessions. This enables organisations to invest in employee development as they manage budgets efficiently, which in turn raises the standards of patient / client care.
Influence on Patient/Client Care
One more advantage of online education to the patients and clients. This online training helps healthcare professionals to make a difference by improving their skills and applying better ways of giving care. One example is the potential of nurses to learn about new medical practices that in turn generate better outcomes for both patients or clients. Fall-ProofToolkit elements include strategies that case managers can benefit from in terms of care coordination, reducing hospital readmissions and increasing patient satisfaction. Specialty training is available for social workers and rehabilitation counselors to provide them with knowledge that will better equip them to address the needs of vulnerable populations.
For this reason, online learning contributes not just to the ongoing professional development of healthcare professionals but also more importantly directly improves patient or client care.
Choice of healthcare workers under 30
Younger healthcare professionals, like Millennials and Gen Z employees are more likely to embrace online learning. They have adopted the digital lifestyle and value innovation in their personal lives as well as professional development. More familiar with tech, EnRoute APP learners gravitate to online education and are more comfortable completing their programmes in this manner.
A younger generation of healthcare workers values opportunities to juggle work, study and life with educational resources online. They want the chance to upskill and gain certification without having to pause their career. As a result, platforms like Quick Health Certified are gaining huge traction and stand among the best resources for gaining healthcare-related education for future learners.
Evolving the Approach As younger workers trend, we can only expect more development and outreach in online learning from healthcare.
Conclusion
Online Continuing Education is Essential for Both Healthcare Professionals and the Patients or Clients They Serve
Healthcare workers can benefit greatly from online education. It is a vital instrument for ongoing professional growth because of its affordability, quality, ease of use, and beneficial effects on patient and client care. Younger healthcare professionals, who appreciate flexibility and digital learning settings, also favor online learning. Online education is set to become an ever more crucial component of healthcare professionals' continuing education as it develops further, which will eventually improve patient/client care and health outcomes.
