The main supplication of Ibrahim ibn Adham رحمه الله was:

"Oh Allah, move me from the humiliation of disobeying You to the honor of obeying You.

Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله:

"I knew that the road was lonely, and no companion to accompany me, so I memorized the Qur'an."

“And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is able to do all things.”

Do not lose hope, keep waiting patiently

After searching for bodies of the martyrs in one of the areas of Syria, the fighters came across the body of a 16 year old boy who had been killed. They found in his pocket a small notebook, in which he used to write his sins during the week; if only we could call them sins:

Monday: I slept without wudhu.

Tuesday: I laughed in a loud voice.

Wednesday: I prayed nightprayer fast.

Thursday: When we were playing and I scored a goal, I felt pride.

Friday: I didn’t recite 1000 salutations on the Prophet salallahu aleyhi wa sallam, and only reached 700.

Saturday: I forgot morning dhikr.

Imagine this is what he thought were sins. We are carrying on everyday with our sinful lives and do not give a second thought to these actions.

May Allah ‎ﷻ guide us to be amongst the righteous, to humbly live in remembrance of our purpose of pleasing him.

Reading surah Maryam I learnt something.

People questioned her chastity- and most likely shamed and questioned her.

Allah swt told Maryam PBUH to not speak to anybody

That is when baby Isa a.s spoke from the cradle and defended his mother, also explaining he was a messenger of Allah swt.

Allah swt knew Maryam pbuh didn’t do any adultery. And obviously if someone came to you today and accused you of committing a crime you didn’t, the first thing you would do is try to clear your name.

Yet Maryam PBUH was ordered not to speak to anybody. And look at the miracle. Her baby spoke for her!

Today we feel lonely- people say bitter things to us, we might be correct even, but be patient. God has a plan for you.

“So eat and drink, and put your heart at ease. But if you see any of the people, say, ‘I have vowed silence1 to the Most Compassionate, so I am not talking to anyone today.’”

Musa (عليه السلام) read this dua when he had nothing. He got a place to stay, a wife and a job soon after!

Translation: O my Lord, surely, I am in dire need of whatever good You may bestow upon me.

﴿كُتِبَ عَلَیۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرۡهࣱ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰۤ أَن تَكۡرَهُوا۟ شَیۡـࣰٔا وَهُوَ خَیۡرࣱ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰۤ أَن تُحِبُّوا۟ شَیۡـࣰٔا وَهُوَ شَرࣱّ لَّكُمۡۚ وَٱللهُ یَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ﴾ [البقرة ٢١٦]

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

“They used to sleep only little in the night.

And pray for forgiveness before dawn.”

Every pain or challenge you face has a purpose.

Everything Allah created has a purpose.

You have a purpose.

“𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒖𝒔?” (Qur'an 23:115)

So why do you not pray?

Why do you neglect your salah? Why do you disobey Allah?

Why do you sin, knowing Allah is All-seeing?

Know your purpose.

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

So, surely with hardship comes ease. (94:5)

"نُورٍ ۗ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ لِنُورِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ"

LIGHT UPON LIGHT ALLAH GUIDES TO HIS LIGHT WHOM HE WILLS.
