I have a Spinarak in Pokémon Crystal named Schezo, and evolving it is becoming a huge pain. That joke's never gonna happen...

Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks amazing so far! So amazing that I should probably list a few things about the game I don't quite like to bring everyone back down to earth. Yes, I'm that evil.
Hear my honest opinions below:
The sound effects. They're WEIRD. The jumping sound especially is... rather off-putting, to say the least. I sorta like them changing up the sounds a fair amount, but they kinda sound like I made them in LMMS.
The small forms for the characters look a little... compressed.
Bowser as a castle is extremely cursed and an affront to God.
Unlike New Super Luigi U, Nabbit feels kinda pointless in this game. He's basically the same as the Yoshi characters, but he (apparently) can't flutter jump or eat and spit out enemies. I guess he's there if you want the invincibility without the extra steps Yoshi takes, but otherwise, I dunno...
The purple flower coins have decimals for some reason? Sounds unnecessarily complicated for that kind of value. (Although I didn't actually see the decimal point for them that much in the direct, so it's possible Nintender could have gotten rid of it.)
The Maw-Maw enemies look like a rejected Pikmin critter.
The bubble power-up looks neat and all, but could those forms look any more uninspired? It's literally just the standard outfit with pink.
Speaking of power-ups, one reason why I actually liked New Soup Wii was because of all the power-ups you could mess around with. From what I'm seeing in the direct, Wonder won't have nearly as many.
The Talking Flowers are kinda annoying and don't seem all that useful.
That's pretty much it. Despite all these though, I'm genuinely excited for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and I can't wait to see what it's all about!

aight nobody said 'what', time to get my bootleg unlicensed game on
Koko Adventure is an unlicensed game released in Korea in 1993 for the NES (technically the Comboy, which is what the NES/Famicom was called in Korea). It was developed by Open Corp. and published by Daou Infosys.
The game is a collect-a-thon platformer - you control either Koko or his sister/friend/idk Suzi, and travel throughout different levels collecting keys. There are a certain amount of keys scattered throughout each level; collecting them all finishes the stage.
Koko and Suzi are quite easy to control. They have a regular jump used by pressing the A button, and they can also spinjump using the B button. Colliding with enemies while in a spinjump kills them, and can even break certain blocks. However, like in Super Mario World, the spinjump doesn't go as high as the regular jump, so it isn't ideal to use it for platforming. In addition to the spinjump, there's also slopes that you can slide down, and sliding down a slope also kills any enemies you come into contact with.
There are also powerups hidden in various totally-not-Question-Blocks, represented by a little heart with the letter "P" on it. If you don't have any powerups, collecting the heart will grant you the ability to double-jump by tapping A in the air, and if you already have that, the ability to slow down your fall by holding A wile airborne. It should be noted that both of these abilities only work with regular jumps and NOT the spinjump.
There are a total of 5 worlds in the game, each having 3 regular levels and a boss at the end. After the 5th boss, there's the typical boss rush before you face the final boss, and then after you beat him, the game ends.
Oh, and since you're going to encounter this in gameplay at least once, I might as will talk about this easter egg:
If you play the game for more than 50 minutes, the screen will abruptly cut to a black screen that reads "REST" in Korean.
Tumblr media
It's extremely jarring to run into this out of the blue, but you aren't stuck on this screen - you can easily press the Start button to bypass it and return to normal gameplay. Oddly enough, though, if you wait 5 minutes - or take a break, as the game instructs - and then press Start, you'll get an extra life!
So overall, I find Koko Adventure to be a very enjoyable game. A little annoying and frustrating at parts, but I was able to squezze a good amount of fun out of this title. This is a good alternative platformer to play, and is surprisingly decent for an unlicensed game.

So there's this bootleg ROM hack of Kirby's Dream Land 2 that replaces Kirby with Pikachu (it's called Monster Go!! Go!! 2 for anyone curious) and it got me thinking... if KDL2 got a full Pokémon overhaul, which Pokémon would replace which characters?

It's got nothing to do with Puyo Puyo and everything to do with Sailor Moon! Here's a remix of the theme that plays in Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus' area in Sailor Moon SuperS: Fuwa Fuwa Panic, aka my favorite song on the soundtrack. I had a lot of fun making this, and I hope you have as much fun listening!
Notes and stuff are under the cut!
Arranger's Notes:
Oh boy, second music project in a row where I've set the panning of tracks to change! It's not a super big thing, as I've already fiddled around with things in LMMS that weren't panning (but were very similar) but I thought it was worth mentioning.
When I was making this remix, I wanted to try and spruce up the tune - the actual song sounds pretty empty. I couldn't quite make my usual string chords work there, though, and decided to ditch them altogether and add more single-tone stuff.
I had a drum track for a cover of a song with a similar beat to this laying around, so I just copypasted that into this and made some additions.
I used the GMGSx soundfont (aka stock MIDI soundfont) for the drums. I tried using other soundfonts, but they just didn't sound as nice, so I kept my good old default SF.
Other than that, I tried out a brand new soundfont in this remix! I love collecting these things.
goddammit bandai jupes is literally the senshi of thunder why does her special suck so bad in this game

Sonic and Kirby is honestly one of the most random team-ups I've thought of, and I'm never letting go of it.
Yes, I am a little too fond of the "a boy and his silly little one-word friend" dynamic. What of it. They'd be awesome together.
