Hello friends! I will be posting the first chapter this weekend :)

Teacher Ben Solo had always carried a reputation for being grumpy. Few dared to approach him, and he made a point of keeping people at a distance. But the moment he walks through the school doors that morning, something changes. Or rather, someone changes everything.

Rey Niima, the new teacher, has an energy that seems to light up any room. There’s something about the way she smiles, and her presence warms even the coldest spaces. Ben feels his inner walls waver from the very first glance they exchange, and before can protect himself, realizes that his once-hardened heart is beginning to soften.

Their connection forms effortlessly. Before he knows it, Ben is spending most of his time by her side, lost in conversations that make the hours fly by. Their flirtations become a subtle game, a silent challenge of smiles and lingering gazes. But it is Rey who finds the courage to break the hesitation.

One ordinary afternoon, surrounded by the quiet of the library, she takes the first step. With boldness and a mischievous glint in her eyes, she leans in and steals a kiss between the bookshelves. The initial shock lasts only a moment before giving way to something overwhelming. Ben’s heart races—not from surprise, but from the undeniable certainty that she feels the same way.

The change in him is impossible to ignore. His colleagues notice that the once-gruff professor is no longer so irritable. His gaze carries a new light, and an almost imperceptible smile always forms whenever Rey is near.

A year later, in the same library where it all began, it is Ben who takes the initiative. His heart pounds, but this time, there is no uncertainty. Between the bookshelves that witnessed their first kiss, he kneels before her and asks the question that will change their lives forever.

Forty books later, I've made another set of this fanfic by @theaguanzon, which does the best job of capturing how it felt to be 13 and reading Star Wars books in the 2000s. This set is a collaboration between myself and @selunchen, who did an amazing job illustrating the covers!

(The covers are inspired by an iconic Star Wars teaser poster. Do you know which one?)

This bind incorporates all the new techniques I've picked up over 2.5 years in this hobby. I foiled the line art on veg tan goat leather from Siegel, and there are Crepaldi endpapers and bookmark charms from @afterblossom.

The maps are based on Legends maps designed by Dan Wallace, Jason Fry, Chris Barbieri, and James Luceno. I revamped the typeset and painted the edges with a galaxy splatter pattern, and this bind is also rounded and backed.

Even after a year, her absence still haunts him. The nights are long and cold without the warmth of her body beside his, without the way she surrendered with an intensity that seemed tailor-made for him.

No other woman could reach the depths of his mind. None understood his shadows, his conflicts, his silences. Only Rey. Only her.

Each day without her is a step toward the void. He feels lost, incomplete, as if he had left behind an essential part of himself.

And when the longing becomes unbearable, when the pain consumes him like an unquenchable fire, he makes an irrevocable decision: he will bring her back.

No matter the cost. No matter what he must do.

Because living without Rey… is no longer an option.
