Yu-Mi’s Cells Episode 4 Recap: Dates, First Kiss and Meeting Lustasaurus

Episode 4 of Yumi’s Cells begins with Gu-Woong arriving with his umbrella. Then the lights are back on in Cell Land and brought in the sweets too (There's other sweet things that adds to Cell Land and not literally), bringing Yu-Mi to look at Gu-Woong in a much more positive light. He was curious about why she didn't reply, so he showed up to check on her. Woong finds out about her broken phone and ended up with a sigh of relief realizing she wasn't ignoring him at all. He shouldn't jump into conclusions so quickly! He looked so happy and told her he thought he got dumped, which led Yu-Mi smiling. In Cell Land, it's the first time in years since it snowed. Woong's Cell showed up on Yu-Mi's Cell land as his Gatekeeper.

In Cell Land, one of Gu-Woong’s Cells shows up to check out the village. However, the cells there refuse to allow it and punch him away. There’s more pressing concerns though and as Yu-Mi passes out while waiting at the bus stop and runs a fever. Woong checks up on her. In Woong's Cell Land a alarm bells as a emergency, the cells activate the sprint mode and let Woong carry her to the nearest hospital. The Cells announced the mission as cleared and Woong ends up acting conceited. While she's still asleep, Woong received a call from Louis who is curious where he is and he mentioned that he's in the hospital with Yu-Mi. Louis is worried how he went to the hospital, Woong said that he carried her and said that Yu-Mi's light. Sae-Yi tells him it's the wrong idea while Woong doesn't approve because this is what his algorithim tells him to do then hungs up.

Woong then even buys her new clothes with a frog on the front. Yu-Mi eventually wakes up realizing that she's in the hospital and sees what Woong has done for her. Yu-Mi checks out the clothes Woong bought for her and its a one-piece. Then a frog show up in Yu-Mi’s Cell Land and helps save all the different cells, cleaning up the village that has been contaminated with stress and making sure Hysterius won't come back by putting up a fence. The Frog even saved Love and True Feelings too who were stranded in the deserted island. The cells were thankful and the frog went in because of Yu-Mi's heart. Only, it turns out the frog is just an outfit for Woong’s love cell. What a sneak! What a metaphor too. Woong sneaked into Yu-Mi's heart without her realizing it. Woong came back to the hospital to check on her. She even told him that she likes the clothes he picked and that it reminded of the festival. Yu-Mi in return as being grateful invited him for a second date! Woong is worried about the restaurants closing asking about the time and Yu-Mi ended up using the same time joke! Haha. Yu-Mi started using his jokes adding that she's a "gentleman".

The pair have a wonderful date and Yu-Mi thanked him for everything. Yu-Mi even told him to send her a text though Woong tells her it takes a while to get home and reminded her of her phone. Yu-Mi tells him that she has a laptop so they can contact each other through that. After that moment, The Dream Theatre came to a close. Then the Bulletin Board Cell shows up late at night to help clear up Yu-Mi’s cluttered mind as a way to sort one’s mind out at the end of the day, especially her daily life. The comments that Yu-Mi should remember are the ones that are moved up, especially when it comes to Woong. I really love this idea of Cell Land's Bulletin Board it's like our own board with post-it notes for reminders. After this, Woong and Yu-Mi started chatting. Woong asked her if he can call her tomorrow and bids her goodnight for real. Woong and Yu-Mi ended up smiling, especially Yu-Mi who seems to be in lalaland. The top reminder of the Bulletin Board is the 2nd date for tomorrow as a reminder by Love Cell. With Woong's Bulletin Board all he thinks about is Yu-Mi and the Cell is annoyed because he wanted to sleep, hihi.

Woong heads back to check on Sae-Yi, who happens to be tipsy checking out Yu-Mi's social media saying to herself that she's his type. Sae-Yi starts talking about their old times and the Cells know that she usually has a ulterior motive whenever she does. While she was acting way off than usual, Woong's Cell Land detected the danger ended up activating his defense mode, which then is interpreted as a bear. As a bear he cant pick up clues or hints, making him look dumb. The defense mode switched off and Woong clearlyh knows that Sae-Yi likes him. Sae-Yi went on her second attack as she wanted to sit beside him, but they ended up switching seats. A third attack came in and it's about her crush. Thankfully Louis awakens just in time, saving them from awkwardness. Her physical touch attack begins and the Cells are troubled. Good thing the taxi arrived. The mission is officially cleared and the bear ears are gone. Sae-Yi has her own bulletin board, she wants Woong to be her husband if ever she gets married. You wish.

Saturday rolls in and Fashion Cell wakes up Cell Land, desperate to try and wake Yu-Mi up so they can go shopping even to the point on praying to the Shopping Spree Deity, who in turn encourages Fashion to sing. This works to wake up Yu-Mi, who goes shopping.

Lust Cell makes an entrance and tells Yu-Mi to to unbutton her dress by a few buttons. Well, Yu-Mi ends up spilling down her dress, ruining everything. I had a feeling. Woong sees her and is worried then invites her to his house.

With Lust Cell being kept under control (just about) by the other Cells, Lust Cell ended up being freed which made Yu-Mi imagine Woong in the shower. This is just too awkward, hard to watch and yet sexy. Hahaha. The actor has a good body i give him that. Yu-Mi ended up snapping, Lust Cell mentions how big his well thing is. I cracked up so loud at this part! I cannot. Woong's Cell Land under attack by Lustasaurus who stomps around the ground breathing fire. Another metaphor after seeing her wearing his clothes. Lust Cell is also trying to calm down Lustasaurus who Woong at the same time trying to calm himself down.

Yu-Mi tries to stop Woong from using fabric softener as a accident may happen then the two look at each other longingly. Unfortunately, Woong’s phone rings, which stopped their moment. It’s a work emergency and he has to go.  Their date is over and Woong promises to message her.

He gets the taxi home. Yu-Mi decides to get the bus. Woong  heads over and returns her dress back. There's a moment when he realizes that Yu-Mi wants to kiss him. Woong then holds her hand to pull her close, holding the crook of her back then finally ends up kissing her in a passionate way! Holy crap what directing to that kiss buildup.

Woong so far is a gentleman and romantic too. Who wouldn't fall for him too?

How did you spend your birthday this year? Late July, we were still in partial quarantine so i spent a peaceful day at home. Some of my cousins came around at my place, and the constant deliveries resulted in 4 cakes for me to cut which was interesting. I went book shopping and got coffee with my dad at the end of the day :) 

What was your most memorable day this year? lmfao my boards result day, i was anticipating the day for a long while so yea, also had a sleepover with my friend on the same day it was quite fun ^^

What was the most memorable meal you had this year? At a grand ass dinner during the start of the year.

Did you find any new hobbies or interests in quarantine? ou yes, i tried my hands at a lot of stuff. I started learning Photoshop. I started boxing and picked up german and yes!! i started sketching :D

What was the last big thing you remember doing B. C. (before Covid)? my exams lol, the lockdown started 2 days after my exams ended so yea that was the last thing i remember BC.

Five good or positive things that happened to you in 2020? I worked on myself and my health, gained confidence :>, made some new and great friends, got better at art, chose the subject stream of my wish and somewhat figured what i wanna do in future.

Biggest messages or lessons learned from this year? Consistency is the key, No one cares, You are your own person, Learn from each day, One step at a Time, You are stronger than you know.

What are you most looking forward in 2021? travelling once covid ends, 12th grade!!, unis and shit (though im more scared about them than excited but yea its there), becoming a better person :)

30 Days Writing Challenge

I just found this challenge on twitter and, well, i dont really have much things to do soooo here we go!!

DAY 1: its either im way too excited for things or idgaf at all, theres no in between. im socially awkward, especially around new people, but once you get to know me theres no way to stop me from talking! im a lil bit sarcastic and like to throw shades at people ehe and lastly, i love spilled tea but not spilling them #guilty

DAY 2: good music makeeeeeeessss me super happy, like literally it can set my mood for the day. i loveee cute animals, just looking at them makes me happy! and also mini-sized things makes me want to explode from happiness hehehe lastly, hugs and kisses

DAY 3: Bandung, June 22nd 2019. The place, the moment, the person. Everything was soooo perfect. We went to see Phum Viphurit and it was nothing less than amazing. The rough chair, the 8 hr trip, the sunset. We started to grow apart at that time, we both knew it but refused to talk about it. Joji’s Sanctuary just recently came out, he suddenly took out his earphones, plugged it to his phone, offered me the left piece, then he played the song. We were immersed in the song and lyrics and just enjoyed the sunset while sitting on the train.

DAY 4: Greece!!! UK!! Budapest!! Bandung!! Surabaya!! New York!! There are lot of places i want to visit but im in short of money soooooo yup :-) 

DAY 5: They are doing pretty much good as parents. I mean they are not the best but also not the worst. I appreciate everything they’ve done for me and yeah im grateful to have them in my life even tho im not really fond of them, i guess?

DAY 6: Being single comes hand-in-hand with happiness. I mean, its literally the time and the chance for us to learn something new about ourselves. Being single means you are not tied down to do things that you dont want to do. Being single makes you realize that you are the ONLY one person that is responsible for your own happiness. Dont let other people define your happiness!!! lol this literally is something that i write for myself.

DAY 7: Cant pick one. I loveeeeeee romance comedy movies. Cheesy, i know. My favorites are the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, 500 days of summer, hes just not that into you, love actually, bridget jones’ diary, music&lyrics. I also love shrek the third, idk why i just love it, watched it hundreds time. The emperor’s new groove also my fav. Ghiblis’ movies are awesome too!! Spirited away, howl’s moving castle, the wind rises, and ocean waves are so so so so goodddd!! Oh and i also love Lalaland, The King’s Speech, theory of everything, the danish girl, and the imitation game.

DAY 8: Music is soooooooooo powerful!!!! I mean it. It really is powerful, well, at least for me. You know that feeling when you just found a really good song that somehow relates to you??? Music makes you feel things. I guess its just how art works? They make you feel things? Oh and also, music is the closest thing to time machine right now. See? Music, well, art in general can transport you!!

DAY 9: Happiness is def something that you need to earn by yourself. You cant just depend your happiness on someone/something else. Happiness is different for everyone, just try to find the meaning of YOUR happiness and go for it. Well, im still struggling to find my own happiness tho but lets just keep trying, shall we?

DAY 10: I dont really have that much of friend tbh but you know what they say, quality over quantity. My best friends are literally the main reason why im still here. They mean the whole world to me.

DAY 11: There’s nothing much to say about my sibling if im being honest. My sister lives in Jkt with her husband and her kids. My brother is autistic. I love my brother to death and will do anything for him. Thats all.

DAY 12: I LOVEEEEEE TV SERIES HAHAHAHA. From the good ones, to the shitty ones. Some of my favorites are modern family, the good place, brooklyn 99, stranger things, how to get away from murder, next in fashion, the amazing world of gumball, andddd i suddenly cant remember anything else

DAY 13: I dont really read books a lot, but one of my favorites is Norwegian Wood. Its just soooooo beautifully written. You can feel the love, the pain, the warmth, you can feel everything through Haruki Mukami’s words.

DAY 14: Im not the most stylish person you will ever meet. I wear similar things everyday. Neutral colors paired with culottes and sandals or sneakers. Thats it. I actually love colors but not confident enough to wear it.

DAY 15: New York or London. I dont know, i’ve always admired busy places. Cities filled with busy people doing their own thing. No one gives a fuck about what you do. Busy places make you think no matter how shitty your day is, there will always be tomorrow.

DAY 16: we used to do everything together. we used to talk for hours about everything. we used to share our favorite songs to each other. we used to laugh at our own stupid jokes. we used to go to music gigs together. we used to watch movies together. not sure if he is the one that im missing or is it just the memories? the time that we spent together was beautiful. its kinda funny to think now that we act like a stranger to each other but yeah time changes people. he was my first everything. sometimes i wonder what would happen if we’re still together to this day, would i be happier? or would i suffer more? this may sound ridiculous, but what we had was as beautiful as lyrics in songs, melodies in musics, colors in paintings. ewwwww this is sooo cringe worthy lol okay i’ll stop.

DAY 17: im so attracted to funny guys i dont know why lol i love guys who can make me laugh. i also love a guy who knows what hes doing. Guys with knowledge also turn me on lol oh and im sooo into guys with glasses.

KCON

Hello friends so I went to KCON this past weekend……… Here’s my story.

HELL ON EARTH i made a cute kcon vlog and made vanessa sit down with me for a kcon chat about the first day but its too long and do i have time to reedit that? No. so here’s my kcon experience my bros.

KCON DAY 1

Wowie so we had like p5 tickets so we kinda just walked around the convention. We sat in on Joan and Edward’s panel for a while and then we stayed for GoToe and Sunny’s panel and GOTOE IS SO CUTEEE I honestly only used my camera to record him he was…. Adorable. But the panel was so quiet and awkward bc of the language barrier and Sunny wasn’t even talking she was just quietly doing his makeup. And there were only… like 30 people there? It was interesting. Then we bought a few albums (Vanessa bought 2 svt albums and a poster and I got Eclipse and we got AL1 for a friend). We went to this photobooth where you could take a picture with a drama background and they had this wall to vote for your fave dramas and leads and INNOCENT DEFENDANT DESERVED BETTER IT HAD HARDLY ANY VOTES. Anyways we were in line for the picture and we chose the Strong Woman background. As we were walking towards the green screen for our turn we were cut by a bunch of Korean businessmen and they turned around and apologized “I’m so sorry. He’s the president of __” and we honestly didn’t hear what company we kinda blacked out from the shock of these men talking to us. Anyways we were at the green screen to take out picture and I motioned to the photographer like “I am going to pick her up like a baby” and his eyes got so big he was like “Y O U?”. now let me tell you, Vanessa is 5’8 and I am 4’8….. He was like “There’s not much time…. How long can you hold?” anyways we took the worst/best picture ever and he was not amused at all lmao he looked so done with us. So we sat down at food street to wait to be picked up and I opened my EXID album to look at it. Two girls were sitting at our table and were like “Did I hear EXID?” so we started talking about the gorls then they asked if we were here to see VIXX (I was wearing a VIXX shirt) and we were like “No, seventeen” and one had an epiphany and said “WAIT i have a seventeen audience pass” AND WE WERE BOUTTA CRY she only had one tho bUT she also had a red carpet pass so I Took svt and vanessa took redcarpet for $20 each (People had been selling them for $200….) AND WE WERE SHAKING SO MUCH it felt so unreal we were both going to SEE SVT and honestly Eclipse it… the bible… a sacred album tbh, blessed. Then we got some FOOD and ended up sitting with these 3 ladies and they liked my pants and BECAUSE THE LIKED MY PANTS they offered us a bunch of free passes!! They had like 2 oh my girl, 4 Astro, 2 SF9, 1 Kard audience passes and this was literally like 20 minutes later we were SHOOK. We took Oh My Girl and gave them to Mely and Vanessa :^) But honestly we went in expecting NOTHING and the day was so crazy Its been a few days and I still can’t believe how kind people are and how lucky we were it all feels like a dream.

KCON DAY 2

I MET KAYLA WHAT A SWEETIE HI KAYLA IF U SEE THIS UR CUTE AND YOUR DRESS WAS CUTE!! ALSO I MET MELY LIKE UUUHHHHHHHHH ITS BEEN 5 YEARS AND VANESSA DIDNT FIGHT ME THANK GOD. SO we didn’t have many workshops we were planning to attend so my Vanessa and I watched Mely and her Vanessa learn how to dance DWC and Mely was talking up how she wanted to do all these dance workshops AND SHE DIDNT EVEN TRY Mely u looked like a limp noodle. Vanessa was better than u. Then Vanessa and I got some food with Kayla and Sophia (HI SOPHIA NICE MEETING U) and we noticed that it was about 12:30 and the line for SVT’s artist engagement was already forming so we waited a bit and ate as we watched that damn line grow. We eventually got in line and waited for an hour in the sun and it was abuse KCON im suing u. But Vanessa waited TWO HOURS in her line for saturday’s red carpet but she’s got more melanin than me. AND we talked to some really nice people in line IDK who ya’ll are but I lvoe you!! Anyways. We were like? In the 3rd row in the audience and there were a few people letting me get in front of them because I’m TINY and one really nice girl who was just a bit taller than me was trying her best to help me get by tall people and she was so sweet I wish I could have thanked her a million more times ;-; So there were like 3 people from a fansite to my left that wouldn’t let me by (of course) and then THESE TWO LADIES who when we asked they just looked down on me and shook their heads AND THEY WERE SO EXTREMELY TALL I WAS EFFENDED. I didn’t tell anybody this but they were playing DWC mv and i actually almost cried bc after all that anticipation I thought I wasn’t even going to be able to see them and I was so hurt. BUT After a few minutes I decided it wasn’t worth being so hot to not even be able to see SVT so I went to the back and watched from the projectors and WOWIE were they beautiful. Everybody was screaming so much /literally/ the only thing I heard was Joshua say “number two!”. But Scoops was so bubbly and had such prominent dimples, Vernon was a sweetie pie, Blond Jun looks better irl, Mingyu: an angel, Jeonghan????? BEAUTIFUL and dainty he really did look like an angel, Joshua is fkn pretty boy nerd he was just happy to be in LA. DK was his sunshine self and Mingyu…… is so cute?? I wish I coulf give much more descriptions on all the boys but I didn’t have a very good view :^( But let me tell you…. Lee Jihoon…………….. The most beautiful man I’ve ever laid eyes on like he honestly made it all worth it he’s absolutely drop dead gorgeous and I felt bliss amongst the chaos he’s truly a walking miracle on this earth. And omg he’s so tiny.

While we waited for Vanessa to finish the red carpet we got some bomb ice cream i loved that man. And OH BOY WAS VANESSA ZAZZED WHEN SHE RETURNED.

And now here are Vanessa’s thoughts about the red carpet: Ok so the red carpet was really GOOD but I was talking to the girls I met while waiting in line we all kind of agreed its kind of not worth it if you’re in the way bc fansites (I think I saw Jihoon’s fansite mintbreeze there). Also it was really cute seeing all the different fans there. I had a VIXX stan standing in front of me and she was just adorable. SF9 were really cute and one of them said “ITS LIT” before they left and I was like wow same. Donghae and I made eye contact for like 1 second and it was so awkward I had to look away. Cosmic girls were ADORABLE and Xuan Yi kept smiling and waving at fans which made all the fangirls scream and that made Xuan Yi smile even more. When VIXX greeted they greeted and all of them bowed except for Leo who had his hands together as if he was praying and I was like wow that is the most Leo thing i’ve ever seen. Girl’s day…. When I saw Minah’s outfit the girl I met while in line offered her hand for emotional support and i took it so fast bc oooooooh man I lost it. Minah kept posing so….. Suggestively like she knew what she was doing. Also I was super gay for Yura. When SVT came out ho boy I almost fell to the floor bc Jun was first and he was fcknin handsome and really tall????? Vernon is a work of art and Seungkwan is an actual baby. Mingyu was gorgeous I legit couldnt take my eyes off him man. I witnessed Wonwoo be a meme. He just looked at Minghao and had his hand on his shoulder, nodded a few times and looked away and Minghao just laughed to himself. Woozi saw some girls next to me who kept going crazy for him and I could tell he tried so hard not to laugh out loud and looked kind of embarrassed or shy about all the fangirling they were doing for a few seconds it was so cute. But tbh out of everyone except for Mingyu and Jun, Woozi kind of stood out to me the most. He was just so?????? Unique looking??? Idk how to explain it but he was beautiful. Chan was almost the last one to leave the stage bc he kept waving at the fans and doing the finger heart thing and he just looked so happy :’)))) Like Jun had to push his arm a little to make him go forward since Chan was the second to last. Also I had my banner up while they were about to leave and I saw Woozi look up a bit when I did and did a half-smile laugh mainly bc of the way I was holding it and doing a :| face ya know what I mean. So he basically laughed at me and it was an honor.

So the concerto. He was a good man. The venue wasn’t as huge as I thought it was going to be so our seats actually felt really close! Preshow: Of course Jun Curryahn was a good man when isn’t he. Then Korean Effects did some BEATBOXING and he was SO GOOD I felt the bass of that man’s voice in my chest. A girl that I do not know the name of came and sang blood sweat and tears to his beatboxing and that was the first time that night that Vanessa turned to me and screamed “IM SO GAY”. The show: Leo and Minah sang a song from Lalaland and it was beautiful. THEN JOSH VERN AND MINGYU came out as the MC’s and I was SHOOK I didn���t expect those boys. I don’t know SF9 but they were good I was amazed they got the stunts! Cosmic Girls were OF COURSE adorable and amazing. Then the screen was showing 17’s intro and we were like “OH SHIT BOY” but THEN it said “special unit performances” and we SCREAMED We didn’t think they would perform unit songs!! It was sad seeing Swimming Fool without Hosh but they did very well those boys. Habit OF COURSE WAS AMAZING I CRY THINKING ABOUT HOW I ACTUALLY HEARD THOSE ANGELS. And OHHHHHHHH BOYYYYYYYYY the day came. As soon as the first notes of Check in played Vanessa and I held on to each other and started screamiING. Check in is oUR JAM OOOOOOHH YEAHH. Then Girls Day performed and they were T H E hottest group there honestly these girls were RUDE. During their stage vanessa informed me 3 more times how gay she is. She was so angry at Minah for doing that^™. Then Cosmic Girls performed I Need U (boy) and SF9 & Cosmic girls performed Sorry Sorry AND GUESS WHO WAS NEXT THE KINGS EUNHAE. Now let me tell you a story. Super Junior was the first group I ever learned and I became friends with Vanessa and Mely because of them. Oppa Oppa? Vanessa and I have been dancing to that for 5 years and u bet we went HARD when they performed that. I’m still so angry that Eunhyuk made us say “LA oppa”. AND THEY PERFORMED I WANNA DANCE I WANTED THEM TO PERFORM IT BUT I DIDNT THINK THEY WOULD SINCE IT WAS A JAPANESE TRACK!! But the whole time they performed I was screaming about how much I hated their hair. Then Vixx performed and I could tell that a lot of fans were there for them (as well as Eunhae) they got the loudest screams. HYUKS ENGLISH WAS SO CUTE I HAD TO HOLD VANESSAS HAND MY BABY BOY. Im really lowkey glad they didn’t perform chained up tho I was blessed that night. And then………...it was SVT’s stage. I had no idea they were the headliners and OH BOY did those boys rock it. There was one VERY RUDE FOCUS ON JIHOON DURING DWC AND I CRIED INTO VANESSAS SHOULDER. I never didn’t think I was going to scream during this concert… but wow did I surprise myself. Even Vanessa was like “WOah”. But SVT performed a super sick remix of Rock and AND they had a little random play dance time which tbh they didn’t even try that hard but then they shot some tshirt cannons and I saw Jihoon rush over for one and honestly I was terrified for my life. He exudes such a different aura on stage that Jihoon really is “El Woozi”. AND HE STANDS WITH ONE HAND ON HIS HIP BOY WHAT IS THAT SASS FOR. During their ment Boo was being his lil Diva self he was so funny and Dino……. A man? He was so handsome I can’t believe. And Minghao got so many screams I was so proud and happy he deserves them all!! Really all the boys Looked amazing and performed so well I could go on for hours. I heard Seungkwan do the Boo airhorn sound effect and i shed a single tear. Dino was so stunningly handsome like??? He really actually does look older than Mingyu he does not look like the youngest at all what are they feeding him. At one point Vernon was like “Wow Josh, I can tell why you hype up your hometown so much” And JOSH gave him THIS LOOK it was so funny he looked offended, disgusted, and sassy I don’t even know who that man is. Good news: I personally caught no signs of butt touching but I /could/ have missed something. But really the whole concert was absolutely amazing, even if you don’t know all the groups the stages are all so great and I think it was just an excellent concert overall. And the next day we dropped off Mely and Vanessa at 11 for their Oh My Girl audience.. That started at 11. Im sorry Chicas but I’m glad u made it in time. ANYWAYS this has been my kcon experience I had a very good time and TBH I would probably consider going again if Seventeen never fkn comes to california.

2017.05.01 Shinsekai Romance Orchestra Review!

My wonderful friend managed to get me tickets to Ueda’s stage for my Birthday DAY! I was super excited! Especially seen as it marked ONE year since their hiatus and ONE year since I’d last seen them live. So it was three super special things in one! Although I hear some people don’t find their birthdays special... that’s a shame... anyway! Onto the stage!

NON-SPOILER REVIEW

Overall: This was entertaining. It was definitely comical like they promised but the story was a lot more simple and very different to what I originally was expecting. I enjoyed myself and there was a lot of meta jokes; they joke about members leaving and they sang random Johnny’s songs and one character even says KAT-TUN lyrics are normal sentences quite a few times. Ueda did amazing and I’m very proud of him carrying this entire play for two hours without a break pretty much. Rating: 6/10

SPOILER REVIEW

Unfortunately this is going to be pretty short. I wish I’d watched this twice so I could have a better idea of what happened and such and also it’s been like two weeks since I last saw it so my brain is a little rust. Sorry but I’ll try my best!

So the MAIN STORY is:

Ueda is a composer and the main lead of his now 2 (was 4) person band, but he’s currently in a writing slump and can’t figure out their next hit single. He wants to write something rocky but the only time he’s inspired to write and the only time he can figure out the next part of his song is when he sleeps with women (and they only give him soppy love song ideas) and so he’s made a system where he has multiple girlfriends at once so he can see a different one every day, sleep with them and still be inspired while having one day a week off/rest from them. 

BUT it starts with him breaking up with the one girl who doesn’t inspire him when they’re together but at first she refuses and proposes to him. So the entire story is him getting in trouble with these multiple girlfriends while realising he‘s in the love the one he tried to break up with in the beginning and trying to accept that she is all he needs in her life.

Crazy right?!

First can I quickly talk about the actual theatre because I found it totally weird! So there’s three floors to this theatre, yes three! So you’d imagine it’s this huge theatre right? WRONG! First floor has only 15 rows and then floors 2 and 3 only have 2-3 rows each. What the actual?!?! Just put ALL 20 rows on ONE floor! It’s SUCH a weird layout. AND the platforms stretch out much more than where the seats finish so everyone has to lean forward to see the front of the stage if they’re on second or third floor. It’s so inconvenient and silly and stupid. See here.

ACTING

Ueda Tatsuya: I’m so proud of this boy! For some reason, even though I’ve seen him act quite a few times (but never on stage), I was worried if he’d be able to do stage. I know he technically works on a (song) script when he does concerts but my brain was like ‘can he even do stage?!’ because naturally it’s different to TV and concerts right?! But I am so proud! He is literally on stage the entire 2 hours bar like 10 minutes and he didn’t obvious slip up and his performance was both funny but sexy but cool but his angry moments too were great! I really proved he can act! I am so so impressed at how well he delivers comedy too! ^_^ He was so cute during curtain call too. At the first one he hopped over the pool but because it was wet, he slipped forward and you heard ALL the girl (aka the entire audience) go ‘ahhh!’ but he regained his balance straight away. And then at the second curtain call he was walking off while waving but he was so focused on the audience he didn’t realise he was about to walk himself off the stage xD and we all freaked again but he just smiled and laughed at us so mischievously xD

Shimizu Kurumi: She played his one true love of his life. She was annoying and had a silly logic BUT it worked for the stage. An example of this will be the very first scene where he tries to break up with her and she doesn’t react and he’s like ‘you're not upset? You’re not going to cry?’ and she’s like ‘why would I cry? We’re not breaking up. We’re going to marry each other’ and he’s like ‘what you on about crazy bitch?’ and she’s like ‘I figured it out *pulls out paper* your only option is to marry me in the end’. So in real life; that is bad shit crazy(!) but for the story, it worked. I also really loved her outfits! And she did other crazy things like go into the pool fully clothed and always greeted him from his roof’s window after they broke up because she gave her key back to him. She was sweet but in real life would be a crazy bitch xD

Saori: If I remember correctly she was the ex-manager who he used to date. She’s still very much in love with him and still flirts with him and she’s still his bit on the side. It was her story to learn to let go of him and move on, and kinda gain some self respect for herself and her body.

Misato Aoyama: She plays the idol who Ueda’s been in love with since she was a young child star. But she’s nothing like her idol pictures and she’s very disgusting too (lots of fart sounds for her) but she always very chill and energetic. She didn’t care about the fact he was cheating on her so long as he was with her somewhat.

Nagai Mijika and Nemoto Shuko: They play Ueda’s Chinese maids and they aren’t attracted to him but they do allow him to have his way with them. Even he’s disgusted at the fact he becomes attracted to them, especially because “I don’t like foreigner girls” as he claims a few times. They’re definitely one of the main comedy reliefs and are always very straight and direct with their verbal abuse towards Ueda which is hilarious. Also Nagai’s character is able to see paranormal and supernatural beings whenever she cuts herself (which is easily cured and mended through her sisters special salt which she rubs in after) ,so the entire last 30minutes are literally spent her (and the rest of the girls) cutting themselves so they can talk to Ueda who is currently in a coma in the hospital but his spirit has come to them as a final penance. I really enjoyed the twins although couldn’t help but think its a shame they hired Japanese people to play Chinese maids but I guess that’s my White Western First World ideologies kicking in. They did great and I laughed at them a lot.

Miyazaki Tomu: The only other guy in this stage and he is so ridiculous and funny! He’s the only other member left in the band and he’s brought it upon himself to play ALL the band instruments and pose at the members who left. So in one Music video it’s Ueda singing while we transition to different shots of him on different instruments and with different coloured hair so you can see there’s a difference xD we were ALL laughing. Also at the end, unfortunately he actually dies and tries to take Ueda with him and he spent his last scene IN and AROUND the audience just spouting abuse at the girls and then he pretends to die and lies on the floor for ages and such. Very funny xD

Nishida Naomi: She’s probably the most famous actress/actor out of them all - or at least for me she is. She was great! She played a charmingly funny but somewhat crazy one. She spends a lot of time crying and with such a lack of confidence. She’s like ‘if I was a good manager then you wouldn’t always be consulting your ex-manager right?!?!’ and Ueda is like ‘no I just sleep with her... she’s not my manager, you are! You’re a great manager!’ and she’s like ‘really?! *all happy for a second* BUT! You sleep with her and not me because she’s prettier!!! *calms a little* I’M SORRY! PLEASE DON’T HATE ME! I DON’T MEAN TO BE NEGATIVE! DO YOU HATE ME?!?!?’ She’s actually hilarious xD her and Ueda were the funniest I think.

Now onto some scenes and comments and such:

So the people in the band are Ueda and Miyazaki Tomu. It was originally 4 people but very quickly into the show Ueda comments ‘well they left...*looks to the audience* you know who left!’ and everyone died laughing because he was clearly commenting on KAT-TUN losing members.

I thought it was interesting how they did the sex scenes; they would do like a duet dance around the stage while they held music notes showing that he was being inspired in his music as he slept with them. It was creative and much more visually pleasing than just seeing him ‘have sex’ with the girls on stage.

The two Chinese characters at one point started randomly singing ‘100% Yuuki’ which got everyone giggling.

Also towards the end it got pretty ridiculous and the girl would cut herself in order to see ghosts and before she did it (every time) everyone was like ‘why are you doing this to yourself?! It’s dangerous!’ and every time her only reply was ‘Giri giri de itsumo ikite itai kara’ which got laughs every time.

There’s a 5 - 10 minute sequence where all the girls want to go and watch LaLaLand at the cinema with him; at first he’s reluctant but by the end of it he ends up even inviting his band member to go and see LaLa Land with him because he’s seen it that many times and fallen in love with the movie and it’s music (xD), and the music from the show plays over during this scene too. So safe to say this stage WON’T get a DVD because of possible copyright infringement from this movie xD

The finally few minutes and final scene starts with the title (on the wall) ‘One Year Later’ and that really hit me in the feels because I went exactly one year after KAT-TUN went on Hiatus and the whole scene was about him and his lover finally getting back together and reuniting after a year of being apart. And to have that scene and for JE to NOT announce KAT-TUN’s come back one year later was really a blow to the feels; especially because JE fucking WROTE this stage. WHY would you do something like a ONE YEAR LATER scene and NOT announce KAT-TUN’s come back one year later? That’s fucking brutal and cruel JE...

All in all, I was laughing at all the meta jokes throughout this and this was entertaining, and I enjoyed myself a lot and the story is crazy and I did laugh pretty much the entire time, but underneath all that... I couldn’t help but be really hurt and sad too whenever some things were brought up, especially the ones about members leaving and the whole coincidental ‘one year later’ especially because I went on May 1st which is exactly one year since they went on hiatus and such. I definitely felt a stab in my heart. Also the making self harm a joke kinda hurt me at first but I decided to suck it up and just not take that too seriously.

It was definitely comical like they promised but the story was a lot more simple and very different to what I originally was expecting. When I saw the visual I thought we were going to be getting an actually musical orchestra university thing with Ueda as the star of the orchestra and he was like the Prince but it ended up being a lot more low budget, a lot more simple, realistic and completely different. But it was good.

Nagae Ryoki’s Movie Appreciation

Good morning Movie theatre now. I will enjoy it.

2nd movie has ended. I'm drowning in river of tears.

3rd movie has ended. The quality of the pictures. Amazing.

Since there are many who are asking about the titles, I shall make it into a quiz. The movies that I am watching today, try guessing all of them correctly.

Hint. 2nd one is live action. 3rd is animation. There is one that has been released since very long ago, there is also one that is only released today. The first person to get it correctly, I will return the reply!

Slight addendum. Although I have written it as 'live action', one is a remake based on the original foreign counterpart, the other one is an original foreign film. Writing it as 'live action' is no good...is it? lol

Speaking of which, right now there is someone who has guessed all 4 correctly. Amazing.

I've finished watching the fourth movie. With this movie, I've become Heiji and Kazuha fan. Kansai ben 's n'ce~

Those particular words from Heiji, those who only watched the movie, and those who also have read the manga will perceive it very differently. Speaking of which, I remembered that episode, my heart thrummed madly while watching the movie.

The thoughts of those who came to watch stage play numerous times, I came to understand it after yesterday's movie appreciation. My heart seized, I wish to go again, to see it once more. I would like to have the DVD as well, but it can't win compared to seeing it live.

Yesterday's movie appreciations was fun in many ways. For now, I want to watch LaLaLand once more.

This me who writes 'I understand the feeling of those who often come to the theatre' again and again. Just now, I watched 'Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter' and 'Kimi no Na Wa' for a second time.

Cries. Just by changing the point of view, our perceptions and thoughts become different. I cried yesterday I also cried today.

N'good, this self, cried too much.

2 days ago, I went to watch movie on a cinema after some time. Until now I would borrow the DVD and watch it at home. Just like stage play.

For works that one can no longer find in cinema, one has no choice but to watch it on DVD, but for legendary works that are being made from now onwards, I think I would like to see them in cinema.

Chapter o6. Self-ie-conscious 

  The second day babysitting Youngwoo was a little better.  He didn’t randomly cry or anything but you also barely picked him up out of fear that you’d hurt him.  The fifth day he was all giggly and active, flailing his little limbs for you to cradle him, so you sucked in air and lifted him slowly into your embrace.  He whimpered a bit at first, startling you.  But you stayed still with him against your chest until gradually he hushed.  By the second week, you thought that you were actually starting to get the hang of things as soon as you stopped freaking out. 

  You dusted your hands off after spreading baby powder all over Youngwoo’s diaper area to prevent him from getting any rashes.  The little baby moved his arms around happily.  Smiling, you patted his little cheeks and lifted him up to place him back into the comfort of his little cradle.  And like a pro, you instantly pressed on the mobile. Soft melodies played in the background as the toy mobile spun above Youngwoo, causing him to giggle gleefully.  Not only was Youngwoo happy, so were you because it gave you sufficient amount of time to clean up the mess on the changing station. 

  When you returned from the restroom, Youngwoo was already fast asleep.  Giggling joyfully yourself, you plopped yourself down on the rocking chair for your much needed break.  As you slowly drifted off to lalaland, a soft beep from your phone sounded.  Sluggishly, you pulled the device out from your pocket to see who dared disturb your beauty sleep.  As soon as the screen lit up, you narrowed your eyes.  Someone had friended you on Facebook…and that someone was none other than Lee Sohee.  You stared at the request.  Was this a battle challenge?  If I rejected then it may seem as if I’m scared of her.  But if I accepted, then things might get ugly super fast.  You bit your nail in debate, weighing the pros and cons. 

  “Nope, not gonna friend you, biotch,” you concluded out loud after five minutes.      

  While your fingers dwelled over the “ignore” button, Youngwoo’s thunderous cries frightened you, causing you to lose your grip over your phone.  Grimacing, you leaned over to clumsily catch the device.  Whew.  But your eyes immediately widened at the screen.  In the mist of saving your phone, you had hit “accept”.  Omg.  Crap.  Crap.  Crap. Not again… 

  Youngwoo’s sobs continued to grow.  Priorities, _______ah!  You tossed the electronic onto the cushioned rocking chair and leapt off to rescue the baby from whatever monster that traumatized him enough to cause such ruckus.  And before you even reached the crib, you had already concluded from the tone of the cry that he was hungry.  So you skillfully U-turned to the kitchen to grab a warm bottle of milk. 

  As soon as Youngwoo was full and burped, you placed him on the automatic cradle by the rocking chair to lull him back to sleep.  Wiping the sweat from your forehead, you picked up the phone again and slouched back down into the heap of cushions and pillows.  Okay, great.  What now?  This was the second time you accidentally lured Sohee into a catfight through Facebook.  Should I unfriend her?  No, that’d be stupid, by now she’d probably already gotten the email saying you accepted. 

  “Fine, you want to be friends?  Let’s be friends then,” you concluded. 

  Broadening your shoulders and holding your chin abnormally up, you clicked on her profile.  You know…since you added her anyway, might as well stalk her a bit.  So she went to high school with Oppa…and college too?  Did that mean they dated or at least knew each other for a while?  You pouted a bit jealous that she knew Jongin for almost a decade longer than you did.  But Oppa said they didn’t have an intimate relationship. 

  Just as you were about to look through her photo albums, the front door opened.  Gasping, you instantaneously hid your phone behind your body to wait for the two men to show up.  Jongin and Sehun were already chatting enthusiastically with one another before entering the baby’s room. 

  “Hey!” you greeted, as soon as they appeared at the doorway. 

  “Hey!” Sehun replied then squatted down to look at the now awaken Youngwoo in his little mini cradle. 

  Your husband extended his arms out and you knowingly jumped into his chest.  He chuckled joyfully at your much more euphoric mood as compared to the first time you babysat Youngwoo. 

  “Did Young-ie cause a lot of trouble today, _______?” Sehun asked, picking his son up into his arms.   

  “Nope.  He was a total sweetheart today!” you said truthfully. 

    In the car, you suggested to get some ice cream since the weather was so hot.  As always, Jongin happily compiled to your sudden cravings.  Midway to the ice cream parlor, a light bulb lit in your head.  Internal evil cackle.

  “Just order one, Oppa.  We can share!” you excitedly proposed.

  By the look on your husband’s face, you were sure he caught on that something was fishy.  But he nodded and got out of the car to order the desert for you.  Taking out your phone, you resumed stalking Sohee’s photos.  Hmm…she did have a good sense of style…even in high school.  You recalled your terrible walk-into-closet-and-pick-whatever-clothes-weren’t-in-the-laundry tactic you had back in high school and cringed. 

  A knock came from the car window and you looked up from your hobby to see Jongin had returned.  Eep.  You quickly exited out of the application and leaned over to unlock the door for him. 

  “Here you go, Jagiya,” he spoke, holding the strawberry ice cream cone in front of you. 

  But instead of taking it, you grabbed a tissue and gently wiped the sweat off of Jongin’s face.

  “It must have been super hot waiting in line.  Sorry, Oppa,” you apologized sincerely. 

  “Don’t worry about it,” he chuckled, holding the ice cream out for you again.

  This time you took it. 

  “Oppa, let’s take a picture,” you suggested, holding out your phone. 

  With the ice cream in between the two of you, you directed for Jongin to lean in and lick the desert from one side while you did the same on the other.  Satisfied with the positioning, you snapped the selfie. 

  “Here,” you shoved the ice cream to your husband.  He looked at you amused but took it so that you could focus on your task of selecting the prettiest filters and bokeh for the couple picture.  In between your contemplating whether to add a border or not, Jongin held the treat up to your lip so you could enjoy it before it completely melted.  Without taking your attention from your phone, you stuck your tongue out and licked the ice cream.  Jongin shook his head at your silliness. 

   Pleased with how the picture came out, you posted it on Facebook with the caption, “Ice cream kiss with hubby”.  You finished your mischief by tagging your husband in the picture.  Pftt…what do you think Lee Sohee?!?!

  “What so funny, Babe?” Jongin asked, feeding you the rest of the ice cream. 

  “Ohh, nothing,” you replied but failed to hide your naughty grin. 

  Jongin pinched your nose but didn’t grill you further, grateful to witness your uplifted mood.

  For the next few days, you were obsessed with taking pictures of you and Jongin together.  Whether you were simply eating dinner, or out on a date, or even just snuggling together, you snapped a selfie, added blinding effects and filters, and posted it up for Lee Sohee  the world to see. 

  But for some reason, that one homecoming picture of Jongin and his ex engraved permanently in the back of your mind.  So to counter it, you continued to indulge in your new hobby.  You took pictures of Jongin in his office, in his car, watching television, sleeping, and even in the shower.  Yes, in the shower. 

  Cackling naughtily, you turned the knob and barged into the bathroom. 

  “What is the world – “ Jongin asked, startled by your intrusion.

  Throwing up some bunny ear fingers, you said, “Smile!”

  Snap 

  Still giggling, you exited the restroom. 

  A few hours later as you were busy stuffing chips into your mouth and chatting over the phone with your best friend, Bang Minah, your husband came in looking a bit flustered.

  “Jagiya, why did Kyungsoo-hyung send me a text saying that my buttcrack is on Facebook?” he asked, raising his brow. 

  The bag of chips fell from your hands. 

  “Hello?  _______ah?  Hello?” Minah said through the phone.

  “I’ll call you back later,” you said and hung up. 

  Scrambling, you climbed over the bed to the computer to examine the pictures you posted.  And there it was, an inch of your husband’s booty managed to show up in the shower picture without you knowing.  No, no, no!  Crap.  You immediately clicked “delete”. 

  “No!  No one in this world is allowed to see my hubby’s precious butt but me!” you said under your breath.

  Beside you, your husband shook his head and gave you a light smooch on the cheek.

Chairs flipped and tables screeched.  You held your back, bending over to scoot the furniture even further.  With a towel over his damp hair, Jongin walked in curiously. 

  “Babe, be careful!” your husband shouted, tossing the towel on the floor to support you before you fell over.

  “Hehe,” you giggled but Jongin was not amused.

  “What are you doing?” he asked, his arm still holding tightly against your waist.

  “Um, just moving things around…” you beat around the bushes.

  “For…”

  “For pictures…” you finally admitted. 

  “For…” he continued to grill.

  You squirmed in his arm and changed the subject, “Oppa, go dry your hair first then I’ll tell you”.

  Waddling, you physically scooted him to the bathroom so he would leave you alone to remodel the room for your photo shoot.  However, Jongin always had the ability to persuade you into ditching your plans to fool around with him. 

  Sitting on a chair, he stared up at you like a little puppy as you towel dried and wrung the water out of his hair for him.  You tried your best to avoid eye contact but the little puppy kept tugging on your sleeve so you caved.  His eyes glimmered back at you like shining stars.  Gahh I’m gonna faint.  Trying your best to hide you foolish grin, you shoved the towel back to Jongin and backed up to leave but he looped his arms around your belly.  You giggled, wiggling in his grip as he continued to suffocate you with his little aegyo stunt.  He pulled you by the neck so you puckered your lips awaiting a kiss but instead he shook his wet hair causing droplets to cover all over your face.   

  “Oppaaa,” you whined.  He laughed, making up by pecking you all over your face.

  You gave in and continued to dry his hair with a blow dryer.  The whole time, he still continued to smile at you with that goofy grin of his and each time he did so, you’d melt a little on the inside. 

  Finally, after ten minutes, your husband released you back to your room to prepared your makeshift stage.  Pushing all the furniture to the side, you hauled in bags and bags of curtains, laces, and fabrics.  With a flick of the hand, the fabric unrolled in front of you like a Hollywood red carpet.  As you tiptoed to hang the curtains, a wild Kim Jongin showed up at the door to offer help.  And even though you wanted it to be a surprise, you gave in and invited him into the room again. 

  “Can I know what you’re doing now?” he asked, easily hanging the curtains up due to his taller physique. 

  You pouted childishly, rubbing you protruding tummy. 

  “I wanted it to be special,” you said bitterly.

  “What’s ‘it’?” your hubby asked.

  “Maternity photoshoot,” you finally admitted. 

  The earlier confusion on his face softened into a tender smile.  He walked over, taking both your hands into his. 

  “It can still be special, even if it’s not a surprise.  In fact, can I be part of it?” he asked.

  Your eyes lit up and you questioned, “Really?  You want to be in it?” 

  “Of course,” he sincerely replied. 

  “Okay,” you said, looking at the floor shyly. 

  So for the rest of the preparation, you got to comfortably sit on the rocking chair while Jongin setup the background, lights, and cameras. 

  The original gray curtains were replaced with beautiful lace and crystal ones that refracted light in all different directions.  The floors were lined with tulle and silk, creating a Heavenly, cloud-like environment.  You changed into a flowy white dress and flower crown while Jongin contrasted in a black dress shirt and white tie. 

  For the first half of the session, Jongin transformed into a professional photographer, directing you to stand in different spots.  With your wispy hair framing your face, you turned at a perfect ¾ angle, with one hand over and one hand under your belly.  Snap  A succession of bright flashes of light captured the serene moment while Jongin continuously pressed the shutter button.  When that was over, the handsome photographer sat down on the floor to admire his work of art. 

  Excitedly, you skipped over and joined him.  He slipped his arm around your shoulders and happily handed the camera to you.  Gasping in awe at his breathtaking photography skills, you swore you felt liquid begin to cloud your eyes. 

  “It’s so beautiful,” you unconsciously spoke.

  “You’re so beautiful,” Jongin corrected. 

  You turned around with teary eyes and he automatically placed his lips on yours.  His fingers stroked your hair, bringing you closer to him.  And in that moment, you wished with every part of your body for time to stop forever.  But his lips eventually separated from yours.  You greedily leaned in for another quick peck.  Oppa, I really love you.  Please keep me around…even…if I’m not good enough. 

  “I will try to be good enough,” you said in an inaudible whisper as your forehead leaned against his.

  “What did you say?” Jongin questioned but you shook your head. 

  Taking the camera from your hands, your husband pressed a few buttons and placed the camera onto the tripod before joining you by the windowsill for a couple shoot.  Smiling shyly, you held his hand as it looped securely around your pregnant waist.  Snap  Several more shots followed with different themes and poses. 

  When Jongin went to fix something with the lights, you sat down to look through the gorgeous photos.  Never in your life did you think you’d get the chance to have a maternity shoot, much less with such an attractive other half.  Stopping on a picture of Jongin kissing your tummy, a teardrop fell onto the screen and you quickly wiped it away before your husband saw.  You’re not sure why lately you’ve become so emotional.  Perhaps, it was the preggo hormones…or maybe it was something else that had been bothering you for a while now…

  Rubbing your tummy, you quietly asked, “Do you think Appa would keep me even if he realizes I’m not mature enough to be your mother?” 

  A light kicked answered and you blinked back tears. 

  “Jagiya, it’s fixed,” Jongin informed, motioning for you to go back to your position. 

  When you stood up, you finally realized your right leg was asleep when it buckled causing you to stumble forward.  Immediately, your child’s father rushed forward to support you. 

  “Jagiya!  I told you to be careful!  You’re a mother now, you have to watch your steps or you’ll hurt our daughter,” Jongin scolded. 

  With teary eyes, you looked up at him.  His angry expression instantly unstiffened.

  “Sorry…” you apologized, biting your lip. 

  “No, Honey, I didn’t mean it that way,” he corrected.

  “No, it’s fine,” you assured, feigning a smile. 

  Unwinding your hand from his, you slowly walked over to the window again.  Your husband followed shortly after.  And as you stared into his deep black eyes, you got your answer.  So you held him a little closer, sniffing in his scent, and remembering the feeling of having his arms around you.  Just in case…you think.  Just in case.  Jongin grinned widely, oblivious to the toxic thoughts that raided your mind. 

  As the skies grew dark, Jongin began to move the furniture back into position.  Sitting on the edge of the bed with your legs swinging around like a little girl, you watched as the moonlight casted beautiful laced floral prints against Jongin’s face.  Taking out your phone, you secretly snapped a few candid shots of him.  You know…just in case. 

  Sniffing back tears, you requested, “Oppa, can we take one more with my phone?” 

  He stopped what he was doing, turned around, and nodded.  Setting the timer on your phone, you placed it onto the tripod and dashed to rejoin Jongin.  Midway, you slowed down, mentally cursing at yourself for forgetting to be careful once again.  With your forehead against his and arms around his neck, the phone camera flashed brightly capturing the precious moment.  And instead of posting it on Facebook like what your husband expected you to do, you changed it as your phone wallpaper so you could stare at it every time you missed this feeling…you know…just in case there wasn’t a next time…             

      a/n: Le sigh.  The ending of this chapter gets me every time.  There’s this melancholy feeling at the thought of a super bubbly person turning depressed as compared to an originally pessimistic person having these negative thoughts…it’s as if her wings got clipped off. ಥ ̯ ಥ

  Are you guys ready for tomorrow’s chapter?  It’s that chapter I cried my eyes out writing and actually had to decrease the angst/change the chapter at 4AM in the morning because it got too sad for my kokoro.

1. THE SMOKEHOUSE, 4420 Lakeside Drive, Burbank

The Smoke House is where Mia sees Sebastian playing yuletide tunes on the piano for the first time. How can one forget this moment?

2. RETRO DAIRY MART, 4420 W Magnolia, Burbank 

Seb grabs breakfast at this working 1962 drive-through and then looks across the street at a once-famous Magnolia Blvd jazz hotspot, dreaming about restoring it to its former glory.  

3. WARNER BROS. STUDIOS, 4000 Warner Blvd, Burbank

It`s where Sebastian and Mia pass by famous soundstages like Stage 6 where classic musicals like 42nd Street were filmed. 

4. “CATHY’S CORNER” OVERLOOK ON MT. HOLLYWOOD DRIVE, Griffith Park

What a waste of lovely night... After leaving escaping from a Hollywood Hills party, Sebastian and Mia stumble upon a hilltop overlooking the San Fernando Valley and then we witness an absolutely stunning and magical dance number performed to Justin Hurwitz’s “A Lovely Night.” 

5. RIALTO THEATER, 1023 Fair Oaks Ave, South Pasadena

Remember when Seb took Mia to the cinema to see James Dean’s Rebel Without a Cause at this 1925 Rialto theater? It all happened there.

6. GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY, 2800 E. Observatory Rd, Griffith Park

It`s that place where Sebastian and Mia dance through the star-filled planetarium and beneath the rotunda mural floating in the air. I think it was magical.

7. ANGELS FLIGHT & GRAND CENTRAL MARKET, 351 Hill Street & 317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles

This is where Mia and Seb share a kiss on the 1901 Angels Flight funicular. One of the brightest moments for sure.

8. COLORADO STREET BRIDGE, 532 West Colorado, Pasadena

It`s where Sebastian and Mia have a romantic walk on this graceful 1913 landmark.

9. LIGHTHOUSE CAFÉ & HERMOSA PIER, 30 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach

It`s that moment when Seb introduces Mia to one and only “pure jazz” at this old-school club dating back to 1949. After their visit, Sebastian dances and sings “City of Stars” on the nearby pier.

Happy Cosplay Friday!

We are back this week talking with the Cosplay Parents, Steven and Millie! Steven and Millie are a retired and wonderfully charming couple who spend their free time cosplaying and Disney bounding. Their wonderful cosplay photos have gone viral several times and they are very much the darlings of the Southern California cosplay community. Always cheery, happy and willing to stop for photos, they are some of the nicest cosplayers I’ve had the pleasure to know. It’s been a lot of fun getting to know them on a personal level and to be able to catch up with them and find out what’s been going on since they became internet stars.

You are very well known from all the viral photos of the two of you at conventions, what has all this attention been like for you guys?

We take it in stride and it really doesn’t affect our day-to-day lives. We don’t cosplay for the “likes” or “fame” or selling calendars or prints; we just cosplay for fun. When Katie’s WW photo went viral we got so many requests for interviews that it did get overwhelming, but we just had to pick and choose who we wanted to feature us. Then we granted an interview with NBC Asian America and that started up more requests for interviews that we mostly turned down. We hate to disappoint people, but we were getting requests from foreign countries, video bloggers, etc. We found a lot of news/fandom sites that just reblogged or stole interviews that we had granted approval to. But the attention we receive at the conventions or at Disneyland is the BEST part. Meeting our fans/followers is always fun! We never imagined that people would actually fangirl/fanboy us! Some are so shy to ask us for a photo/selfie, that it’s endearing and a compliment! We love that very much!

You did a really unique take on a cosplay recently. You took inspiration from the movie “Up” and the movie “La La Land” and created cosplays around it. How did you come up with that mash up and that photo shoot inspiration? ( I can get the photos from Katie for this portion )

We had already planned to do Carl & Ellie for Dapper Day’s Fall Outing. We saw the movie poster for La La Land with Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) in their famous dance pose. Since Mia & Ellie wore a yellow dress, we thought we could do a UP/La La Land mashup during Dapper Day on Saturday. Of course Katie York (@KatieBePhoto), was the perfect choice for the photographer, and even though we couldn’t recreate the exact pose, Katie came up with her take and our dance pose at the nearly empty walkway by Ghirardelli in DCA. That photo became one of our favorites. At that time this photo also had the most likes and comments on our Instagram page too!

We recently got to spend time together at Gallifrey One. It was your first time attending, what did you think of this convention? Was there anything or any one in particular that you wanted to see at Gallifrey One? Any favorite moments from the weekend?

We would have liked to see more of the big name Doctors (Tennant, Smith and Capaldi) but realize they’re either too busy or too expensive to book. Wouldn’t mind also seeing some of our favorite companions such as Karen Gillan, Jenna Coleman, Catherine Tate and Alex Kingston as well. Too bad Pearl Mackie couldn’t make it this year. Favorite moments were seeing you (Monica), Katie and all the cosplayers.

Although not ‘Doctor Who’ related, it was especially nice when Millie presented Katie with her father’s vintage cameras. Millie’s father had once used the cameras, but Millie didn’t want to just donate it to a stranger, so Katie was the perfect recipient! We were all touched by that moment and we could tell that Katie appreciated the gift too.

Among the photoshoots and fun panels, one of the highlights of my trip to #Gally1 was getting to see the @cosplayparents! This particular photo is extra special as this was the exact moment Millie handed me 2 of her father's vintage cameras from the 50's. These cameras are absolutely beautiful and I am forever touched that Millie reached out and offered them to me. I'm looking so forward to breathing life into them. Did you cosplay as your favorite Doctors?

Yes, when we started to binge watch the show in 2017, Millie liked David Tennant. Luckily we found a brown pinstripe blazer at a thrift store so it was perfect for her to gender-bend the 10th Doctor. Steven cosplayed Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor because while dressed as Carl Fredricksen from “Up” at a Lego Land Halloween Party a kid came running up to me and said “I love Doctor Who!” Steven said to himself “Who the heck is Doctor Who?! I’m Carl from UP!” It wasn’t until we got home and goggled “Doctor Who” and we saw a picture of Matt Smith that we realize the kid saw a brown tweed jacket and bow tie and got confused! LOL! So since Steven already had the tweed jacket it played perfectly for his cosplay as the 11th Doctor.

How do you decide which cosplays to bring out for a particular convention?

We only have 8 cosplay outfits and 6 Disney bounding outfits so we try to rotate our costumes so the fans don’t see the same thing 2/3 conventions in a row We need to start making new cosplay outfits but we’re running out of characters that we really like to portray, so we might start doing mashups or alternate versions of the same cosplays.

Do you have any favorite stories from your different cosplay adventures?

Other than the UP/Doctor Who story I previously mentioned above, we guess it would be how we became known from a tweet from a fan at Wonder Con in 2016. We were dressed as Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter waiting for the Agents of Shield panel to start. But we had to sit through 4 other panels, and our knees and back were hurting, so we stood up to stretch and turned around to face the crowd. We were sitting near the front, not to show off, but we were looking for a friend who was trying to get into the Shield panel. A few rows behind us, this fan took a photo of us and tweeted it and it went viral on his phone! That one tweet started this whole “fame” part of our cosplays. As it turned out, Ron Aspiras, became our first fan, follower, and friend. Through Ron’s discovery of us, subsequent interviews with justJenn at Nerdist and Jon Hernandez at the Marvel Report followed, which started the ball rolling. We later met you at Wonder Con in 2017, and then you introduced us to Katie at Long Beach Comic Con in 2017. That’s when Katie’s Wonder Woman photo of us went viral. Months later we did the UP-LaLaLand photo shoot, and our interview with NBC Asian America, sent things through the roof!

What kind of stuff are you interested in outside of cosplay?

Steven likes auto racing, car shows, building and collecting model kits. Millie likes to do arts and crafts, sew, and create things with whatever we have in the house. Together we like to go to Disneyland/Disney California Adventure, Broadway musicals, movies, dining out, and discovering new places and meeting new people.

What is your favorite thing about cosplaying?

At first, it was having people taking photos of us; now it’s mostly just meeting our fans and followers, and our fellow cosplayers and photographers. When we know our friends and fans are attending a Con, we try to meet everyone, it’s like a treasure hunt. We’re both socially shy but because of our internet popularity it’s given us more confidence to meet other famous cosplayers because now they seem to know who we are.

Smooth teen asks Emma Stone to prom with a little help from ‘La La Land’

City of stars, are you shining just for teens?

It appears that way, ever since the smoothest teen of all, 17-year-old Jacob Staudenmaier, decided he would ask his celebrity crush, the beautiful and talented star of La La Land, Emma Stone, to be his date to prom.

Heads uphe looks just like a young Ryan Gosling, so this could not be more perfect.

In perhaps the most epic way possible, Staudenmaier, a junior at Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona, set out to win Stone’s heart by putting his own epic spin on the La La Land opening number and shooting a music video at his school.

“I love La La Land. It was one of my favorite films of the year, and I’ve always loved Emma Stone as an actress, especially in her film Birdman,” Staudenmaier said.

“I decided if I was going to do this I needed to do it big and ambitious,” he explained. The promposal was inspired by another student at his school who asked Miley Cyrus to prom about three years ago. Though Cyrus didn’t accompany the boy to prom, she did invite him onstage at one of her concerts, which should give Staudenmaier some serious hope.

After the movie slayed at the Oscars, the teen thought he’d have some fun and use his love for filmmaking to craft the perfect promposal. He set forth to recreate the famous opening number right down to the traffic jam, choreography, and prom-appropriate rendition of “Another Day of Sun,” called “The Valley of the Sun.”

“The planning took about two weeks with intense thinking about how the movements had to be and when I’d sing each line,” Staudenmaier said. After writing his own lyrics and getting his buddies to help him with his singing voice and camera work, the masterpiece only took two hours to film.

“I don’t consider myself much of an actor or a dancer but I’m willing to do both,” the Gosling doppelgnger admitted. “I sort of improv my dancing, which is why it’s pretty awkward and funny towards the end.”

Staudenmaier has been completely blown away by the huge response to the video, and though he’ll go to prom even if Emma says no, he’s fully prepared to lose his mind “for a second time” if she responds.

To further persuade the actress to give him a chance, Staudenmaier also made a very good point: Stone would get the chance to return to her home state of Arizona for the celebration.

Why not just let this talented, suave, two-time award winner take you to prom on April 29 and then for a nice dinner at Olive Garden, Emma?

What a waste of a lovely night, eh?
