Artifact Management and Enhancement Screen Optimizations Are Here~ | Developers Discussion - 12/06
Hello, Travelers~
In Version 4.3, we will implement a series of system optimizations in the game. We will be introducing some of these in this Developers Discussion. Let's take a look together~
〓Archon Quest "Requiem of the Echoing Depths" Unlinked From World Quest〓
To ensure that Travelers have a smoother experience with the Archon Quest, from Version 4.3 onwards, "The Chasm Delvers" quest series will no longer be prerequisites for this Archon Quest. When you reach the objective "Enter The Chasm: Underground Mines" in the Archon Quest "In the Depths, an Unexpected Reunion," a Teleport Waypoint will be automatically unlocked in The Chasm: Underground Mines so you can continue with the Archon Quest.
The Archon Quest "Requiem of the Echoing Depths" requires Travelers to head to The Chasm: Underground Mines, but this location will be locked until Travelers have completed the corresponding World Quest that allows them to enter and continue pursuing the Archon Quest.
〓One-Click Features〓
▌Dispatching Characters on Expeditions
One-Click Expeditions will become available in Version 4.3. This will allow Travelers to claim Expedition Rewards with a single click, as well as repeat expeditions with a single click.
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
▌Ingredient Processing and Forging Screens
Aside from expeditions, you will also be able to claim processed ingredients and forged items that have been completed with a single click in Version 4.3.
▌Mystic Offering
When performing Mystic Offerings at Crafting Benches, you'll now be able to add multiple Artifacts in batches with a single click.
In future versions, you'll also be able to claim created Furnishings from the Creation Screen in the Serenitea Pot with a single click.
〓Optimized Artifact Management〓
As the journey goes on, the number of Artifact Sets you can collect will continue to increase. To help Travelers quickly find and manage Artifacts, a significant optimization has been made to the Artifacts filter function.
Automatic Locking and Quick Unlock functions have been added to the Inventory > Artifacts screen. Travelers can use these to automatically lock and unlock Artifacts according to the requirements they set.
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
Additionally, as a reference to help Travelers when choosing Artifacts, recommended Artifact set information based on recently active players will now be shown on characters' Artifacts screens.
For more details about Artifact management optimizations, please stay tuned for future official descriptions.
〓Optimized Enhancement Screens〓
In the current version of the game, when Travelers level up characters or enhance Weapons and Artifacts, a pop-up appears showing how the corresponding values changed before and after enhancement. In Version 4.3, enhancement information will be integrated into the original screen instead. This will make the enhancement experience smoother for Travelers by getting rid of the frequent pop-ups.
Apart from integrating enhancement information, there will also be some small targeted optimizations on these screens:
▌Character Level-Up Screen
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
The speed of interface special effects related to leveling up characters has been increased, and you can now use Auto Add to add sufficient Character EXP Materials to get the character up to the highest level they can reach before Ascension with a single click.
▌Artifact Enhancement Screen
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
Other optimizations:
1. You can now consume up to 15 items per time when enhancing Artifacts.
2. Added the "Enhance to Next Tier" function. Once activated, when there are still open slots to add Enhancement Materials but this action will already cause the Artifact to reach Level 4/8/12/16, no more additional Enhancement Materials will be automatically added.
3. In Settings > Other, you can choose whether or not 5-Star Artifacts can be auto-added as Enhancement Materials.
Combined with the Automatic Locking function mentioned above, we hope that these changes will make managing 5-star Artifacts more convenient for Travelers.
▌Weapon Enhancement Screen
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
You can now consume up to 40 items per time when enhancing Weapons on, and select multiple materials when refining Weapons.
We hope that these optimizations make the enhancement experience smoother for Travelers.
〓Character Reload Spot When Challenging Domains Repeatedly〓
In Version 4.3, after entering the Domain or if you continue to challenge the Domain after claiming rewards, characters will reload nearer to the Domain challenge location. This means you won't have to run over from the Domain entrance to this location again.
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
〓Other Optimizations〓
To improve your gaming experience, some other optimizations will be implemented in Version 4.3. These include:
1. The way enemy avatars display in Adventurer Handbook: Enemies will be adjusted to help you find them. Also, you can now select "Cancel Navigation" on this screen to stop navigating towards the corresponding enemy on the map.
2. On the various creation screens (Crafting/Cooking/Forging/Create Furnishing), if there are no selected character records on the Traveler's device, the first character that can provide a bonus when creating the selected item will be chosen by default.
3. On the map screen, you'll now be able to check bosses' current remaining respawn times by clicking their avatars.
(This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.)
And that's all for this Developers Discussion. We'll have more information about new version content and optimizations for you in the future, so please stay tuned for further official announcements. If you have any thoughts or feedback, feel free to send them to us through the various channels within and outside of the game~

Chapter 1: SAGAU Horror Writer.
(Y/N) stared into those beautiful stars as they tried to figure out what happened. They were shot. Now they’re here. They feel completely fine. Better than ever in fact. They slowly began to accept what happened to them. (I’m an isekai protagonist. God damn it.) (Y/N) carefully got up, surprised that there wasn’t any of their usual back pain but ignored that for the moment as they looked at their surroundings. They were by a lake with an oddly familiar statue on a small island in the middle. (Is that fucking Venti?!). (Y/N) realizes not only were they isekaied but they were isekaied to Tayvat. The setting of their favorite game. (Y/N) has many questions. Particularly why the grass everywhere but where they step seems to be dying. It’s not only the grass but all of the plant life. There are also no animals in sight. Not even the ones that are supposed to spawn. Now that they look more at Venti’s statue, they realize it looked in disrepair. Instead of its normal blue glow, it glows red. Like one that’s still waiting to be unlocked. After having that thought (Y/N) waded through the water towards the statue and mimicked the action they had seen the traveler do many times. They put their hand on the statue and the statue started glowing a brighter blue than (Y/N) had ever seen before. (That might just be because I’m seeing it in person.) The statue also quickly repaired itself. When that happened it seemed as if life came back to the area. The grass was green and they could see small bits of wildlife starting to return. A burst of wind also came through. (Y/N) recognizes where they are as Starfell Lake. (Mondstadt should be nearby but would it be a good idea to go? This could be similar to one of those imposter AUs people were making. If that’s the case it would be a bad idea to stick around when no doubt someone will notice the change in the area soon.) (Y/N) looks at Mondstadt in the distance as they turn and start running in the opposite direction. After a while of traveling they end up at a beach with one of the Teleport Waypoints right where they came in. (Y/N) debate whether or not they should activate the waypoint before deciding not to for now. (That would just make it easier to track me if this is an imposter au situation.) (Y/N) knows this is where the game started well… unless you counted Celestia. They begin to think about what they should do when they hear a sound. They see a flash of red come down from the nearby cliff as they feel a sharp pain in their shoulder. They can’t help but cry out as it burns. (Amber. Of course Amber would be the one to find me. Amber who has been part of my team from the very beginning.) “Stop! Imposter!” Y/N ignored Amber’s yells for them to stop until Amber lands another hit on them with her bow. This time the burning was in their leg and sent them tumbling to the ground. As (Y/N) carefully flipped themself over, (Y/N)’s eyes are wide with fear as they see Amber looking at them from a distance with a look of fear, regret and confusion. (Y/N) soon realizes it wasn’t (Y/N) she was looking at. (Why is my blood black?)

Start The Countdown
Ningguang's POV
I was looking through the letters from different scholars and alchemists from across Teyvat. Many were just them saying that they had no information that I could share with the creator. Baishi put some letters on my desk and I opened one of them. It was from a scholar in Sumeru. I read through it and its contents were interesting. It said that she found documents of old gods taking parts of a plant and a gemstone or ore from their home, then using their powers to bring someone to Teyvat from different worlds. There was a way to return to the persons original world. It mentioned how the samples I sent were full of powerful energy. I write a letter to the Creator and plan to send it in the morning. I turn into for the night and hide the letter in a locked drawer in my desk.
Next Morning
I went to my desk and unlocked the drawer and gave Ganyu the task of looking for the Creator. She takes the letter and leaves.
Creator's POV
The sound of knocking woke me up. I walk over to the door and see Zhongli.
"Good morning your grace," he said.
"Good morning Zhongli," I responded.
He moved out of the way so I could leave that room. I was about to say something when a we heard a knock. Zhongli went to the front door and opened it. On the other side was Ganyu with a letter.
"Good morning Mr.Zhongli, your grace,"
We greeted her back and Zhongli asked about the letter she was holding. She explained that it was for me and I swear there were sparkles in my eyes. I reach out from behind Zhongli, grab the letter and run to the room I woke up in. Opening I smiled.
Dear Creator,
I reached out to many scholars and one managed to find answers regarding the petals, gems, and ore you brought to me. She found accounts that say what you brought were part of a ritual to bring you to Teyvat from a different world. Along with her findings saying there is a way to return to your original world. Her name is Lakshmi. She would like you to meet her in Sumeru City. As much as I would like to get to know you, I understand your longing to return to your world. Best of luck on your travels.
Sighed Ninnguang.
A smile makes it way across my face. Leaving the room Zhongli is waiting for me. He asked what the letter said but I told him that was between me and Ningguang. I dash past him to look for a safe why to make it to Sumeru. In my hast I run into a teleport waypoint. When my hand makes contact I ended up on the other side of the harbor.
"Holy shit! These things really work," I say to myself.
I now wonder if I can use this to get to Sumeru. My brain forms a way to test my theory.
Zhongli's POV
Writing a letter to Nahida was what I needed to do. The Creator lost their grip on the letter and reading it,made me worried. If the Creator went to Sumeru to meet this scholar they could leave Teyvat for good. The Creator needed to be kept busy for the next ten days, just till we get everything ready. I already had the supplies on my end, almost everyone in Teyvat wanted the Creator to stay. Looking down at what I had,I smiled. It's time to start the countdown.

@bigmouthgenius
This was supposed to be a simple smash and grab. Get the blueprints of the place, locate the objective, nab it and run.
In and out.
Easy enough, right?
Nope.
There was a security program that had been running passively in the background that not even the team’s AI had detected while pilfering the system and she had Forerunner code built directly into her matrix. Alarms began to blare loudly, alerting the Prometheans of offending intruders, once the data left its protective, holographic casing. Their fireteam leader quickly placed a hand on the terminal and green pixels flowed up her gauntleted arm and into a slot on the back of her helmet indicating their AI had come home. Without another word, the trio of Spartan IVs took off, wanting to be as far away from this place as physically possible.
Red blips began pinging off their motion trackers during their flight through the ancient complex and the digitized roars of anger echoed off down the halls. Their AI, Noesis, was still tapped into the local network and began to shut down the massive gray-white doors to cut off their pursuers or at the very least slow them down.
Evac was well on the other side of the facility in the form of a D79-TC Pelican dropship. Their pilot, Spartan Kent, had already activated the autopilot, calling the dropship in closer as the LZ was going to be hot by the time they got to it. A pair of beam turrets popped up in front of bulkhead doors at the end of one hall and began firing white-hot lasers at the fleeing super soldiers, forcing them off their current path and to take a hard right down another hallway to avoid being melted down to slag.
A Promethean Knight had sprung forward seemingly out of nowhere toward the Spartans as they attempted to dodge the turret fire and had nearly pinned their XO to the wall with its gun when it received a shotgun shell to the side of its head. With the creature down, they continued onward with their flight.
“Finally! We’re almost out of here!” came the Spartan to their XO’s left. Her IFF transponder marked her as Cordova, Caterina A.
“About time. I think we’ve really riled up the locals. Kent,” their fireteam leader replied then glanced to the right at their other squad mate. “Kent, once we get out, get that pelican ready for transport. We need to get the hell out of here ASAP before they call in for more reinforcements. Last thing we need is for the Storm Covies clogging up the air.”
“Way ahead of you, ma’am!” came her companion’s reply.
Just as they reached the last stretch, however, a Promethean had teleported meters away from the exit and brought an Incineration Cannon up to bear. The weapon began to charge, red light glowing like death. Right as the thing fired, their commander cried out, “Move it!”, before diving out of the way herself. The creature must’ve been in the local network as well as it was fighting for control over the doorways and cut the commander off from the other two. She rolled up onto her feet just in time to jerk to the side to avoid another blast.
“Commander?! Auri-?”
“Hey, you still-?”
“Get outside! I’ll meet you at the LZ. This place is going to be crawling with Knights shortly. I don’t want them bringing down our bird before we even get out of here,” she called back over their COMMs.
Spartan Kent paused briefly before responding so his counterpart took over. “Yes ma’am! Noesis is still feeding us a map of the area and there’s another exit out here. We’ll see you outside.”
“Copy!”
The Knight attempted to fire on the Spartan once more and just before it released the trigger, a well thrown grenade took it out of its misery. Reloading her weapons and taking a quick stock of what was leftover, Noesis, the team’s AI, wormed her way past the defenses the Knight had thrown up and unlocked one doorway, placing a waypoint that led to the exit on the Spartan’s HUD. The commander took off and was forced to double back twice due to an influx of hostiles. Out of nowhere, a brilliant flash of blue and black lit up a doorway to the Four’s left. Hovering there, of its own volition apparently, was a portal. She was really backed into a corner right now, with Prometheans encroaching on her location. The construct hiding within her helmet was already following her line of thought before the woman even voiced her plan.
“Commander, as much as I’d like to be out of here, we don’t know where that portal leads,” Noesis protested.
“Anywhere’s better than here. They’re already starting to wrest control from you and you’ve already transferred over the data to Roland, right?” Auri had already started to back up toward the swirling vortex. Sure enough, another entrance on the far side of the room had opened up, revealing a mass of very angry Promethean Knights who thought they had the human cornered.
“Yes but…” the AI said, her sentence petering off. Oh hell. Her Spartan had already made up her mind and there was no changing it. “I’m notifying the others and I don’t think these Knights are going to wait much longer!” Moments before the Forerunner constructs could pounce, the Spartan dove into the portal’s center and her world went black and the machine shut off.
---
She could feel her body being spun this way and that. Her skin being tugged hard off her bones as she fell end over end. Or so it seemed.
Auri’s shields flared up as an unknown source drained the batteries until they cracked and died for a few seconds, the annoying alarm blaring right in her ear. Her equilibrium was way off and it felt as though she remained within the portal network for far longer than before although she couldn’t tell how much time had passed since she had taken the plunge.
Without warning, a hole suddenly opened up and spat her out into the dirt rather unceremoniously. The Spartan rolled to a stop, head spinning violently and she swallowed down the urge to throw up. Any attempt at getting to her feet were met with major protest as her vision swam sickeningly. Shutting her eyes tightly against the light filtering through her faceplate, the commander took in a few slow, deep breaths before rising up to her knees carefully. Her stomach was still her throat and her head throbbed something awful but she was alive and surprisingly in one piece. A few meters away from her, the portal floated and seemed to shudder. Had the Spartan not been paying attention, she wouldn’t have caught that slight waver that indicated something was off.
“Okay, good. You’re alright,” came her AI’s soft voice. “We may have a tail. Prometheans may have followed us and… I don’t think that portal is going to last much longer. We need to get clear of the blast radius and into cover.” Noesis sounded almost distracted and for a second, the Four couldn’t pin down what had caught her attention.
“Great… You don’t have to tell me twice,” Auri replied, turned around to get moving and stopped.
Oh.
That’s why.
They weren’t on Requiem anymore.

The many things I have to babble about: Furina de Fontaine
this is dumb, idiotic even, I've written this all by my mind, I did not stay at a single topic specifically, and ZERO professional thinking sooo plus this has rarepairs n silly shit at the end
FURINA DE FONTAINE ! (random rambling incoming)
why furina and fontaine is the best (satire??? idk but I just really like fontaine as a whole)
FIRST OF ALL.
right before sumeru archon quest, fontaine is the absolute BEST. Inazuma kinda just felt like.. filler idk. sumeru is a LORE DROP??? but for me it just felt like a chore to do, and PAINFUL if you don't have the teleport waypoints unlocked??? i mean like so is fontaine but it isn't THAT big
but like, I'm really lazy when it comes to quests so mqybe its just a me thing??? but ever since fontaine released and I saw furina. (and the twins ig) I FELL IN LOVE. MONDSTATD? NONEXISTENT. WIPED OFF THE MAP. VENTI? HATED. /j i dont use him anyway (not that i got more motivation to do the archon quest anyway, i dont even think ive finished the fortress of meropide part LMAO)
(furina gives so nb since they came out it's crazy?? even the jp va thought furina was a boy im pretty sure??)
I don't even know bro I've loved her so much ever since she was shown in the start of fontaine's archon quest like not evne romantically its purely platonic like??? they're so my fav????
all of my new favorites in genshin are literally fontanians like,, LYNEY?? NAVIA??? AND FREMINET??? ALSO INCLUDING WRIOTHESLEY???? DAMN!!! I need to see more clorinde though
notice how furina stands out from majority of female genshin characters all sticking to/ "workaholic/ overworked girl that is nice and sweet but other than that other parts of their backstories are not elaborated on" idk like???? i dont nknow how to describe them but they are EVERYWHERE.
I am furina, furina is me
rarepairs/shipping dynamics?? !! (w/ furina, obviously smh) :
silly royal furina !! act to impress :3 (x gn reader material ?? where both are royals, but furina always acts their best in front of reader and whenever reader is amazed by furina, the silly feels like they're on cloud nine AUGHSG)
komirina/furikomi : but as ariel and that prince guy???? princey-princess furina??? (stars/sun, when she feels down in the dumps and gloomy, the other always goes to lighten their mood or smth hehehfhjfs)
furiyaka/ayarina : BUT THEM SILLIES !!! can also be a mermaid x princess au too :3 (also as the 1st part !!) sparring partners too (moon/sun?? strangely enough, ermm )
(not fatui scaramouche, it js depends what you like to call him) scararina/wanrina : i dont know they're just silly together (i dont know what kinda dynamic they'd have, maybe smth like komirina w star/sun ??, they were js both my fav characters ig !!) they're like quiet kid x theater kid/JJ
MORE about wanrina this one is random but like... they're kinda opposites??? wanderer wasn't human, but he wanted to feel human, likr... and.. focalors loved furina for her humanity (unlike ei LMAOO) now that he learns about what it's like to feel human, but just spending time w her makes him feel special ykw like,, IDK ????? they're just pretty characters (PLUS !!! light hair x dark hair) (satosugu referenc??????)
and I, thank you
#ᐢ..ᐢ﹒﹒﹒vinx's randoms#genshin impact#furina de fontaine#random..??#fontaine#furina#my brain is rotting#i love furina#furina solos#genshin fontaine#hydro archon#idk man#i just really love furina#genshin

Guess who came home?
I haven't pulled anyone since getting my lovely Arlecchino and her signature weapon.I normally don't bother with the weapon banner, but Arlecchino's scythe is up my alley. It looks way too good on her!
I didn't plan on pulling anyone in Natlan until Capitano (and or Columbina) showed up I prefer to save for the Tsaritsa or her Harbingers, but... I had to at least try to get Xilonen. I didn't plan on pursuing to get her if I failed to get her, though. I was going to use my failed attempt to get Xilonen in order to get the first available Harbinger popped up, but then Xilonen surprised me by actually showing up.
I haven't pulled for a Geo character since I got Zhongli long, long ago... As you can tell, I'm not the biggest fan of Geo characters. But Xilonen is SO fun to play. She isn't properly built yet, but exploring is soooo fun. I unlocked all of Natlan's teleport waypoints by skating my way through Natlan.
As you can tell by my Genshin Impact verse, I am a big fan of the Fatui and the Tsaritsa. I also adore Furina, but Xilonen is quickly becoming one of my favorite Geo characters. It's really hard to skip so many banners because you have characters that you really want, so I'm glad that I have Xilonen. Now I won't spend anymore primogems until Capitano and or Columbina show up as available characters.

Dreamer in Teyvat -Night 1- (3/?)
You approach Teleport Waypoint. You hold your breath and slowly reach to the structure. You put your hand on it, you expected its surface to be cold but it was warm. Looking at it you notice that- Nothing have changed. You put your other hand on it and nothing. You didn't hear any sound, it didn't light up in any way, nothing. It doesn't work because you don’t have a map? Or it just won’t work for you? Or maybe it did work but without unlocking another one you won't know for now. If you find another Teleport Waypoint, it won’t hurt to check it. You approach the end of the cliff. You are amazed by the view. You can see Sangonomiya Shrine, also you're able to see Statue of Seven on other end of the island. This is incredible, you can feel the wind, you can hear the sound of waterfalls and some birds. You can even touch those bubbles that fly around, it’s fun to poke them.
On your right there is teleport, but this one won’t help you too much, the other one that this teleport is connected to, is not far away on your left side. Behind the teleport there is this place where this terrible puzzle was, but it seems the puzzle is already solved. You pass teleport to get closer to the small ruins. There you can see many books, bag, shield and backpack. There is no weapon sadly. Checking bag and backpack you only find like 100 mora. You’re probably won’t be able to buy too much with that. You wonder, if it’s really okay to take those things but you don’t see any campfire, nor anything to suggest that someone is coming here at all. Well, at least you got something to put things in, that you'll gather in your travels! There is no reason to go back to the beach or try the new shield against slimes, so with excitement step, you go back to the path that will lead you to the Bourou Village.
There is bridge, it looks sturdy enough to let you cross it. At the end of the bridge you see one of Sangonomiya Samurai. You put foot on the bridge, to make sure it won't break when you try cross it. You can see the Samurai watching your every move. Holding onto line you slowly cross the bridge. When you finally approach the Samurai, he loudly say -“ Halt! All passers-by must allow themselves to be inspected! Where are you from? Where are you going? Answer me honestly!” You wonder, how many times he had said this. You can tell the truth, that you’re not from here, telling everything how you have been chosen by some God…Gods to travel across Teyvat. You can also just say that you’re a traveler and you wanted to see the beauty of Watatsumi Island. You can lie about being friend of Traveler and Paimon. You can also don’t say anything and just ignore him.
I just realized I can't edit the posts with polls oops… well I should have guessed I won't be able to do that orz If you want to see the previous ones or next one just check Masterlist!

Spoiler Fontaine Archon Quest 4.0 :
How should I put it, this archon quest somehow fresh and took different route than previous area which make it enjoyable. The writer putting jokes and high tension scene pretty well together.
Klutz Furina really funny to see hahahaha
Ace of attorney story like are interesting enough to read (lol)
The one really suprise me after read many spoiler, Arlecchino came from Fontaine ! Which explained house of hearth somehow lean on saving Fontaine aside their allignment. It would be suprised if Arlecchino join fatui, picking house of hearth and basically spying mission join as harbringer all because she know the propehcy will happens if she don't do something.
As I thought, Furina Neuvillete relationships more like cheeky young lady and all round butler so yeah Alois Claude (lol). It gonna be interesting to read Neuvillete Furina character story later to see the reasons they join together. I hoping like he's into controlling from shadow ruler type or Furina cheeky personality interest him (but seems not lol)
Aside the fact this archon quest focused on Navia, funny enough Neuvillete which had less line took most scene there (lol) and I guess we wouldn't see her for next archon quest since well... she finished her role, right (lol)
Neuvillete in this archon quest really interest me ! He's very rational kinda like machine but somehow he's still in research for human's hearts. And the things with rain, everytime rains happened, it's after a case or trials and at the end of archon quest when he's at Callus grave so yeah I guess Neuvillete is just someone can't express his feelings...
Aside the fact Tartaglia fanboying traveller and forgot his debt collector job (lol), it's funny he say about his families to us and forgotting our archenemy relationship.
The quest finished with Tartaglia arrested just because oracle saying he's guilty (he's guilty for taking too many female's hearts lol). But wow Neuvillete can stop him with only one move before going full foul legacy mode, I guess dragons pretty much a supernatural (lol)
I think Tartaglia will play a very big part in Fontaine archon quest, maybe as key person or just clown like Liyue (lol)
So far, Fontaine archon quest have three big forces play their parts : Fontaine, current house of hearth member + tartaglia + traveller and third forces. I really suspect these third forces came from previous house of hearth father, if so it explain new fatui enemies at 4.1.
So yeah it's very balanced story, not bad but not so good. But I still wondering how to do Fontaine 100% exploration with it's basically chasm underground + dessert mouseleum combination map. For now without touching any quest, I still around 30% overall and unlock most teleport waypoint while doing some chest
#genshin impact#archon quest#spoiler#i had a things with neuvillete jpn va#i rarely skip neuvillete dialogue before he finish (lol)#kamiyan score 10/10 for emperor like characters (lol)

The Door to Khaenri'ah location
Spoilers for 3.6, read at your own discretion!
I don't know about you, but I'm in heaven with the new lore presented in this update, especially this. This won't have any quest spoilers, only directions/locations to Khaenri'ah.
You need to finish the part of the world quest where you activate and go down the elevator in the Khaenri'ahn ruins with Sorush and The Skeptic dude, and find yourself in the rooms with many broken screens. This is as far as you'll need world quest-wise.
Teleport back up to the underground waypoint where the elevator is (the waypoint is under Tunigi Hollow).
Collect the green Farrwicks that were used to unfreeze the machinery to work the elevator (you only need one).
Glide/Take the elevator all the way down to the room with the screens and one locked door.
Place the Farrwick at the door to unlock it, and enter, continuing down the path.
Enjoy :)

I finally picked up gw2 after seeing you post abt it… do you have any tips for a Beginner? It seems fun but I’m not quite Getting it.
The game can be a bit overwhelming as there's a lot of stuff to do, so here's some tips:
Don't rush. Go at your own pace.
Don't use a lvl 80 boost. You're gonna be much more confused if you haven't played before and just jump straight into lvl 80. Lvl 80 is the highest lvl in the game, if you see people running around with levels over 300, those are mastery levels, they're a bit different but don't worry about those for now.
If you're having trouble with your inventory, come up to any vendor you see, go to the sell option and then click on "sell junk" in the bottom right corner. That will sell anything you have in your inventory that doesn't have any use to you besides getting sold like this.
If you open your inventory, you should see 3 little icons in the top right corner. One of them will say "deposit all materials". That will send all materials you have gathered into your material storage which you can then access at any bank merchant you see, but you won't usually need to have the materials in your inventory. It's better to just deposit them.
If an item you get is "account bound on use" or southbound on use, that just means that if you use the item you will not be able to sell it afterwards. Account bound means you can share it between characters, soul bound means its bound to the character you use it on.
In the early game don't worry about binding things, if it's a weapon with better stats or better armor just use it!
At the start of the game try to just explore, read what your skills do as you unlock them ans try out different weapons. You unlock new skills and new traits by using hero points. Hero points are scattered around the map. Sometimes you'll need to fight someone to get it, other times you get an item you need to consume or you just simply interact with the point.
If you find you don't like the class you picked, you can just make another character. Free to play players should have 2 (or 4? I cant remember) character slots if I'm not mistaken. Each class plays a bit differently but they can all be fun.
Some world information you might need: if you unlock a waypoint by simply walking close to it, you can then teleport to it at any point unless it's contested.
Point of interests, or simply poi, are little squares on the map simply signaling an interesting place. If you discover a point of interest by simply walking by it, it will fill in the square with an orange color.
Quests in this game are called hearts. You don't need to speak to the heart merchant at all if you don't want to. Simply walking into the area where the heart can be done will show you a little text box up top in the right to tell you what to do. If you finish the heart, you can then but something from the vendor.
Events. Dynamic events specifically. If you find an event such as "protect the village from x" they will most likely lead to another event.
If you fail an event, you might trigger another event to clear the village of the enemies. If you win the event, you might need to fight a boss.
You can also stumble across world bosses! Those are on a set timer and will happen regularly. People in chat will usually say where they're happening and to come help!
Every 10 levels you will get a story part to do. It will show you where to go with a green star on the map. The story isn't necessary to do, but it has some fun rewards for new players.
If you're confused about som3thing or need help with something, don't be afraid to ask in map chat! People are always willing to help.
If you need to ping a location or an item in the chat for whatever reason, you simply hold ctrl or shift and click the thing you wish you ping.
Ctrl will send the thing immediately but shift will simply open the text so you can add a note to it. You can ask for help with events like this. Ping a waypoint or a poi in the chat, ask if you could get some help wjth an event and someone will come.
Uhhhh this got long I hope it helps at least somewhat djfjfjgjr

Frostgorge Cruise Setup!
I'll be hopping into LFG on Ollie (Andrewsarchus) soon! (LAA has kindly provided discrete PPE to Ollie so that they won't have an adverse reaction to the water during the swimming portion.)
For fishing purposes, the bait you will benefit most from are ramshorn snails and shrimplings. All the fish here will count towards the Shiverpeaks Fisher achievement, but there are no Lake Fish to complete it.
The first part of the event runtime will be exploration/sightseeing, and we will start fishing after our brunch break (so we can get that full-tank fishing buff!). If your character has dietary restrictions, let me know ahead of time so I can ensure I have appropriate feasts. (I can't provide blood though, sorry vampires.)
We will be meeting on Refuge Shore, just southeast of Blue Ice Shining waypoint. If you do not have this area unlocked and cannot teleport-to-friend, you can get to us by leaving Hoelbrak through Wayfarer Foothills, following the map to the portal at the Far northeast, then following the road at the Frostgorge Sound entrance east until you reach the Shore. Below are diagrams of the route in map order, but it might not be color-blind friendly, so if neither these instructions nor the map are helpful, I'm happy to guide you in-game instead!
Side notes on some details in the original flier:
There is One (1) whale to spot. It will be visible from skiffs, but does not breach.
The actual Quaggan Games require three (easy, but together take about 10 minutes) pre-events, so it's likely we'll just visit the arena and interact with the npcs for that portion of the tour unless people want to do those events! They are, in order, an escort, clearing some hostile mobs, and a combo kelp-gathering and quick pre-fight with one of the contestants.
The ranger pets, in order, are Polar Bear, Arctodus, Blue Jellyfish, and Ice Drake.
The spelunking side-trip takes us to the hidden Iron Horse Mines PoI. There are a lot of dredge. I will set up shadow portals to take non-spelunkers to a safe ledge no enemies can reach!
Given the scope of interest the event has generated, we may need more than a couple additional skiff volunteers. I'll divide the squad based on designated skiff groups, so if you want to chat to everyone OOC, be sure to use squad chat (/d), NOT party chat. If ya change skiff groups later on feel free to move yourself into the right subgroup!
Alright, that's it! I hope to see you there, and be sure to bundle up!

◆ Elemental Skill: Surfshark Wavebreaker
◆ Mualani enters a surfing stance, and can move on land, water and liquid Phlogiston swiftly. While in this state, Mualani applies "Marked as Prey" to opponents upon coming into contact with them and gains Wave Momentum. In this state, Mualani's Normal Attacks will be converted to Sharky's Bites, and consumes Wave Momentum to increase the DMG dealt by Sharky's Bites. When she has 3 stacks of Wave Momentum, when Sharky's Bite hits an opponent, she will fire Shark Missiles at nearby opponents Marked as Prey.

◆ Elemental Burst: Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord
◆ Unleashes the power of the Almighty Dragonlord, K'uhul Ajaw. Ajaw will unleash his Dragon Breath at intervals, dealing AoE Dendro DMG.
4-Star Character "Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted" Kachina (Geo)

III. New Domain
Domain of Forgery: Ancient Watchtower
◇ Legend has it that in ancient times, the colossal beasts that roamed the land had a civilization of their own. After exploring the entirety of the land and surrounding sea, they built these structures in an attempt to cast their gaze upon the even wider world beyond. But these wise beasts have long since vanished, and in the present, no one now knows the true purpose of this place.
◇ Unlock Criteria (satisfy any one of the criteria below to unlock):
• Adventure Rank 10 or above
• Complete "Knights of Favonius" in Archon Quest Prologue: Act I "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind"
◆ Challenge the Domain to obtain Weapon Ascension Materials.
Domain of Mastery: Blazing Ruins
◇ In that era, when people had yet to attain true mastery of the flames, there were sages in all corners of the world who pondered the fire and sought to fathom its mysteries. It is said that these ruins are all that is left of what was once a ring-shaped ceremonial site. Here, these sages attempted to perfect the rituals required to transform phlogiston. Among the heroes who later followed the mighty one into the belly of the volcano, there were several who once trained in this place.
◇ Unlock Criteria (satisfy any one of the criteria below to unlock):
• Adventure Rank 10 or above
• Complete "Knights of Favonius" in Archon Quest Prologue: Act I "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind"
◆ Challenge the Domain to obtain Character Talent Materials.
Domain of Blessing: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits
◇ It is said that the first sage to learn how to use phlogiston created a place of great purity, and that within this place, warriors were taught to wield the power of prismatic flames and flowing light. Later, even before they were used to resist common enemies, these powers were employed as weapons in conflicts between the tribes. Disheartened by this state of affairs, the Sage of the Stolen Flame withdrew from the world, vanishing from the pages of many tales. Devoid of their original purpose, these empty trial grounds were left behind, along with all those stories that came to be forgotten...
◇ Unlock Criteria (satisfy any one of the criteria below to unlock):
• Adventure Rank 10 or above
• Complete "Knights of Favonius" in Archon Quest Prologue: Act I "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind"

Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant

It will fly into the air during combat and enter the "Golden Flame" energy-gathering form, creating a shield around itself and launching a Flamewind Feather towards the ground that summons a flamewind. If you cannot destroy the Flamewind Feather before the Qucusaurus dives down into it, the creature will use a Phlogiston Current to return to the skies. This will persist until it is exhausted and returns to its original form.
Located at Basin of Unnumbered Flames
Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King
◇ A powerful Yumkasaurus that has experienced numerous impressive battles.
It will collect Flamegranates during combat and spit them out as bombs. However, if you can use Pyro to ignite the Flamegranates before the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King can swallow them, who knows what might happen...
Located at Tequemecan Valley
Wayob Manifestation
"Rock-Cavernous Wayob Manifestation," "Flow-Inverted Wayob Manifestation," and "Foliar-Swift Wayob Manifestation"
◇ The Wayob worshipped by the various tribes of Natlan manifest themselves in the form of these obsidian totems.
In battle, the Wayob Manifestation will deploy its Arena: Moment of Trial, creating a shield for itself and absorbing the Elemental Energy of all characters in the Arena. Characters in the Arena deal greatly increased DMG. If the shield is broken before the Arena expires, they will also regain a large amount of Energy. However, if they fail to break the shield, the Manifestation will generate a barrier based on the value of the remaining Elemental Shield.
Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seeker
"Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seeker"
◇ An ancient mechanical creation that wanders Natlan to this day, though its function is not known.
When characters enter and maintain the Nightsoul's Blessing state, the Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seeker will start progressing through its Adaptive Countermeasures. Once those are complete, the Hunter-Seeker will unleash its special cluster laser. Still, risk and opportunity go hand-in-hand, so perhaps you might take this opportunity to deal immense damage to it...
Avatars of Lava
"Fluid Avatar of Lava" and "Eroding Avatar of Lava"
◇ A strange monster that must continually absorb heat to stay in an active state.
However, it seems to damage itself should it absorb too much. After you use Pyro attacks to cause it to fully enter an Overburn state, it will rapidly disintegrate.

Special dragons that were better able to adapt to their environments, taking on different shapes and forms based on their surroundings.

CHAPTER 3 - THOSE WHO SIN AND THOSE WHO PRAY
childe x reader, wc: 4.4k, masterlist, Ao3
cw: blood and gore, nsfw
He helps you down the ruin, making your way through the canyon. You took one last moment to look across the scenery, if you were lucky this might be the last time you would ever return here. You felt a small pang of loss before it was overridden by the determination to be free that had long been rooted in you.
It was all falling into place. This is what you had fought for since the fateful day you had received your Vision. Adrenaline ran through your veins, you could almost taste the freedom.
You ran to the waypoint, now panting. Looking back you gave Childe a final nod and put your hand to the waypoint, you pictured the square. Feeling your body become formless for a moment you breathed out. The next thing you knew you were in the square.
Still slightly panting you began to run in a beeline towards the nearest set of knights. Just a few metres away from the way point. The cool night winds whipping harshly against your skin.
“Help, I need help!” you stuttered out
One of the Knights grabbed your shoulders “Sister, what are you doing out here so late?” his stern voice echoed throughout the square.
“Please, I just need to get to the cathedral” You look back at the waypoint, your breathing growing heavier with every passing second.
The Knights nodded, just as they began to lead you up the stairs the waypoint flashed again, Childe nonchalantly walked past into the depths of the night, pretending not to notice you and the Knights. You hid behind one of them. The Knights gave each other a nod, they spit up one following Childe and the other leading you back to the cathedral.
“Sister, what's your name? Can you tell me what happend?” You look up at him, eyes watering with crocodile tears.
“My name is Y/N. I-I don't know what happened. I was serving my penance and the next thing I knew someone grabbed me and pulled me out the window. I can't remember what happened next” You mumbled “All I know is that I somehow managed to break free and get to a waypoint”
The knight lead you through the plaza to the doors of the church. He rapped upon the guilded doors. A few moments later another Knight unlocked the heavy door. It was the same one that was guarding Barbara’s office.
He takes the state of you in, arms tightly crossed across your body, shaking. Standing next to a mildly concerned looking Knight.
“Sir Micheal, Sister Y/N came to us for help, she teleported into the square and ran to us for help. She said she was kidnapped while serving penance but she can’t remember what happened. The Fatui Harbinger teleported in a few seconds later”
Micheal gathers you in and pulls you into the cathedral.
“Thank you Sir Otto, I will go report to The Deaconess” He places a hand across your shoulder, the iron gauntlets digging too far in causing you to wince.
“This will be over quickly, with any luck The Deaconess won’t punish you” His voice had the same tone as it did when he locked you in the tower. The words were at the edge of your tongue. You wanted to ask him if he wanted to fight for The Order, if like you, he believed your God had abandoned you.
He leads you through the rows of pews towards the Sanctuary, hidden behind the base of the altar. You're still shaking, putting all your effort into replicating the knights you've seen after battle. You had become familiar with the sight, side by side with the other healers doing the best you could to stop the endless rivers of blood pouring from their bodies. The fights against the Abyss had been tough, they would only become worse with time. Perhaps one day without the protection of its God, Mondstadt would fall to its knees.
He leaves you in her office sitting you down in the hard chair opposite from her desk. There was no light in the room aside from a small candle Otto had lit. The decorum of the office still annoyed you. For a woman who was meant to live her life in pious modesty, she truly did have a taste for the extravagant.
“I'm going to go wake The Deaconess, I’ll be back in a minute”
You tried to turn the fear you had for The Deaconess into the fear you were supposedly having after being kidnapped. You wondered if The Deaconess would be kind this time like Micheal had said. Your gut instinct was to doubt him, the only people you had seen The Deaconess were those at or above her station.
You heard footsteps approaching the door before it opened. The Deaconess stood in a long night robe despite having just woken up she looked surprisingly alert. She sat down opposite from you, lighting a few more candles casting more light into the room.
“Sister Y/N, can you tell me what happened?” She folded her small hands under her chin. Her soft voice still had a sharpness weaved into it. Her expression showed no sympathy.
You took a second preparing to explain yourself but before you could get the first word out the door once again burst open. The Cavalry Captain stood for a moment at the door frame, if you looked closely you could see a slight sway to his gait. He walked in and leaned on the desk next to Barbara.
“Captain Kaeya, I'm glad you could make it considering the circumstances” The Deaconess looked up at him looking mildly agitated at his drunken stupor. The Captain was well known for his habit of haunting The Angels Share most Friday nights.
‘Of course, hearing a Sister come in running from a waypoint begging for help is rather alarming” He replied calmly, gesturing to you. “Continue, please”
You took a deep breath “I’m not sure, I was in the South Tower serving my penance and the next thing I knew I was at Stormbearer Mountains, I heard them talking about Port Dornman. I saw the waypoint and took my chance to get out.”
The captain looked at you before asking “Do you know who took you?’
“I heard no names or faces, I couldn’t pick up the accent either. I-I don’t know why me”
You saw Barbara look at Kaeya mouthing one word “Fatui?” He shrugged
You put the pieces together, Perfect.
“Are you sure there's nothing you can remember?”
You shook your head “N-No”
Kaeya sighed pulling a hand down his face “I shall inform The Grandmaster and find that knight who was tailing Tartaglia, expect to hear word in the morning Deaconess”
He leaves the office just as abruptly as he entered. You looked back at Barbara, she was drumming her fingers on her desk deep in thought.
“Sister Y/N, You shall finish the remainder of your penance and return to your normal duties. We currently suspect it was the Fatui who attempted this, for what reason I cannot fathom”
“F-Forgive me Deaconess if this is out of line but if it was the Fatui what would happen” You worded your question carefully trying to edge out what their plan was, with any luck they would play right into your waiting hands.
She gave you a hard glare “Likely nothing Sister”
Although she wouldn’t explicitly state it, you were right, dart in the bullseye. The Order was still too weak to risk a war with the Fatui. They already suspected the Fatui were up to no good, this wasn’t even the farthest they've gone if the rumours about them trying to ruin Dawn Winery’s harvest this year were true.
With any luck there would be a follow up with The Grandmaster and then nothing. When the time came for you to fake your death, they would hopefully suspect the Fatui again and investigate no further. Maybe they might even be glad to be rid of you, too much trouble for your worth.
You abruptly snapped out of your thoughts at Barbara clearing her throat “Thank you Deaconess I shall return to my penance”
You exited the office, finding another knight ready to escort you back to the South Tower to serve the last day of your penance.
✧
The morning after next you felt the sunlight on your face for the first time in far too long. Marianne had practically flown out of bed after she had woken up to see you standing on the balcony, clearly she didn't know about what had happened that night.
“Y/N, I’m glad you're alright, I missed you” She embraced you in a tight hug, one that you had to force yourself to return.
“Mari” You said trailing off “Something happened”
She frowned and tilted her head a little “What?”
“I'm not exactly sure of the details but I was kidnapped, by whom or why I cannot answer. All I know is that I made it out” The lie you wove slipping out easily
“Archons” she mumbles under her breath.
You pulled away from her and she rested her forehead against yours “I-I don’t know what to say” she huffed out
“I’ll be OK, I was knocked out for most of it. I don't think I really had time to fear. But now I’m home, I’m safe” The last part was the hardest to bite out. You weren’t home, you weren't safe, not in Mondstadt anyways. With every passing day the city rotted, You had no more time to swallow the false promises that The Order so willing gave you.
“Come, morning prayer starts soon and The Deaconess will have your head if you’re not there to pray” You said
The two of you moved out of your room, making your way down the stairs. Like always she separated off towards the large golden harp and yor to kneel at the hard wooden pews that had your knees crying in agony every day. You quickly fell back into routine. Every day here was the same. After all, it was easy to move with the flow.
After you had mouthed your prayers you moved away with the flock of healers. There were about 20 of you in total and some in training.
Sister Grace, the oldest of you, lead the way to the infirmary, as the rest of the healers begin their work you walk Grace for report, much like Sister Olga, Sister Grace stood ridgid. Red hair with greying roots peaked out from her habit.
“Sister Y/N, I understand you have been in penance for a week, your normal bays have been covered by the other Sisters as we expect you to do of them” You merely nodded in response.
“Bay 24 came in last night and had a large laceration on his upper right leg says he got it in a fight with an Abyss Herald on patrol. Bay 25 came in this morning with a nasty fever and Bay 26 is another knight with a broken leg…” She continued her spiel for the next few bays.
“Finally, Sister Ida will be working under you for today” You glanced at the familiar blonde girl. She was only 15, two years into her training but as pious as the oldest nuns. You liked her company, she was talented, like you she had a knack you healing and an Electro vision that had come in handy more than once.
You thanked her, annoyed at her brief descriptions. You delved into work, leading Ida with you. Cleaning the large laceration on the knight's leg was familiar. You tried to not let your thoughts wander to the Harbinger too much, you wondered when you would next see him. You had been too impulsive to tell him when to show up next the last time you were with him.
Moving to the next bay you fully immersed yourself in your work letting the hours fly by as you always did. Leading Ida in her duties as a healer. By the age of 16 she’ll be ready to work on her own. Gently guiding her hands to help with the endless tasks, even letting her crush her own herbs after double checking with you.
Her eyes followed your every move as you activated your vision, controlling the stream of water with practised ease you irrigate a wound, Ida was holding the knight's hands. Even after giving him Milk of the Poppy he could still feel the pain.
Stepping out of the infirmary at the end of the day, the sun setting over the horizon the sky stained the sky with vibrant yellows, pinks and oranges. You went to find Marianne for dinner walking to the altar to find her scolding a younger sister, likely for messing up an old hymn again. The stark reminder that Marianne was no longer the person you knew hit you like a sack of bricks, time doing nothing to ease the blow.
“Marianne, let's go it's time for dinner” You said in the calmest voice you could muster, you led her away after she dismissed her student. You looked back at the dejected girl making eye contact with her. You gave her the most sympathetic look you could and mouthed the words “Im Sorry”
“How are you holding up Y/N” Marianne asks lacing her arm in yours
“I think I’m OK, I’m just distracting myself with my duties at the moment” Wanting to change the topic quickly you asked
“Why were you scolding that student again?”
Marianne rolled her eyes “She just can't get the last bit of ‘Ventum Aquilarum’ right”
You bit your tongue “Ah, Isn’t that a pretty hard one”
She nods “It is but it's one of The Deaconesses favourites, so she has to play it perfectly”
You laughed a little, you’ve heard ‘Ventum Aquilarum’ so many times that you could play it on the harp if you tried hard enough.
Walking into the stone dining hall you take your assigned seats and chew on the same bread and soup you've eaten for the last 19 years. Some of the other sisters were discussing the upcoming Ludi Harpastum. A few of them were hoping to be chosen by whatever champion would win this year, likely one of the nobility like it had been for the last century or so. After Venessa’s rebellion the common folk had been allowed to touch the harpastrum but those days were lost to history.
“I'm excited to see Venti play again this year” Marianne sighed, you had caught her on more than once occasion staring at the Holy Lyre der Himmel, wishing she could play it for herself.
“I hear he’s always getting drunk on dandelion wine at whatever tavern will serve him, I hope hes not too drunk to play this year”
Marianne laughed, purple eyes gleaming “The Harpastum starts in two weeks can you believe? Maybe we'll get a day off to explore the city again”
“You might but I don't think I can leave the cathedral walls until The Deaconess deems me worthy enough, which could take years”
“The Deaconess isn’t that bad you know”
“You’re in her good graces Mari, you’ve been working with her closely as of late anyways, she needs you for prayer. Of course shes nice to you”
Marianne said nothing in response to that, merely dipping her bread in the radish soup. The two of you finished up, walking out of the dining hall. You and Marianne parted ways. She to The Sanctuary to meet with Deaconess Barbara to discuss tomorrow morning’s prayer and you to the Sisters Quarters.
You ascended the stairs deep in thought, ever since Marianne had become the primary harpist under Barbara she had become more and more forgiving of her actions. She was right under The Deaconesses wing. An uncomfortable thought occurred to you, what if she became the next Deaconess? Barbara was forbidden from having children as a Sister of the Church and Grandmaster Jean was married to Lisa of the Hexenzirkel. Sure she wasn’t a Gunnhildr but she was of minor noble descent. It was tradition within the noble families of Mondstadt to give their second child to either The Church or The Knights. It wasn’t unheard of for a minor noble to become a Deaconess either. Archons, the Deaconess normally married the Grandmaster in order to create a stronger alliance and keep the Gunnhildr lines clean.
Climbing higher and higher you reached the room in the roof and banished the racing thoughts from your head, you were catastrophizing again. You needed a distraction. Clambering out the small window you prowled along the cathedral rooftops, eventually perching where you could view the whole city.
A few moments later you hear footsteps behind you, whipping around you see the Harbinger. He sits down next to you, leaning back on his arms to view the stars
“Miss me” he teases
“Hardly, It’s only been two days” You reply. Why was it so easy to talk to him?
He laughs a little “Tell me, how did our little plan play out”
“The Order suspects you, I doubt they’ll come after you though, diplomatic immunity and all”
“Now the next part of this plan, how do you plan to do that”
“The Ludi Harpastum starts in two weeks, I’m assuming you know what it is?”
He shrugged “Vaguely”
“Its a 15 day festival, all you need to know is that it's the perfect distraction to make our getaway”
He stands up all of a sudden extending a hand to you “We can talk about this later, fancy another trip?”
You smirk “How could I say no”
✧
Childe’s thoughts kept on coming back to you, for some reason he had agreed to go along with your hair-brained plan. He had decided it was because he was bored and wanted some excitement. Being sent to Mondstadt in search of an absent Archon in preparation for Signoria’s plan was already a sluggish mission, he would rather be fighting the ancient terrors locked away underneath the earth. The only light at the end of the tunnel was the Rite of Decension, he would have to leave Mondstadt at one point or another soon.
Coming to the cathedral roof was an impulsive decision, in truth he had missed you and the excitement you brang but mostly he was bored. You were determined, impulsive and it reminded him of himself. There was something else about you that drew him to you, maybe it was your capacity for kindness, kindness that he craved. Maybe it was the way you treated him as an equal, wanting to know more about him, he rarely had a conversation with someone like the way he did with you.
The opportunity you had provided him was almost perfect, If he was going to take down the Geo Archon he would do it himself. He could finally prove himself to the other Harbingers, being the youngest and the weakest was infuriating him. Sure the others had years some hundreds to perfect their skills but if he wanted to complete his goal of taking down the heavens and bringing it to The Tsaritsa’s feet he needed to be stronger. He needed to be the best.
When he extended his hand to you he had one idea in mind, to fight. If you were going to be working for him he might as well make sure you could fend for yourself. Bringing you with him to Liyue was already a potential weakness, especially if other people found out about you. You had the ability to fight, under your soft exterior lurked something cunning.
He gathered you in his arms once again, leaping off the roof and heading towards the deep woods of Wolvendom. The jagged cliffs and old gnarled oak trees came into view. He landed in a small clearing and glanced around.
“You’ll train with a polearm this time” he said, manifesting one out of subspace, he threw it at you, half expecting you to drop it.
“Why did I expect anything else when we left” you huffed a little and you twired the polearm trying to get used to it weight compared to a sword
“Polearm?” you question raising a brow at him
“I think you’ll fight better with a spear compared to a sword”
Without another second he launched his attack, this time you knew his style a little better, trying to follow his advice you keep the polearm loose in your grip and let it lead you. As expected he bests you in a matter of seconds by knocking you down to the ground before helping you up.
“Let's make this a little more fun, for everyone round the winner gets to ask a question” He suggests
“That's no fair and you know it”
He shrugged “Hows this, I don't use any weapons”
You sighed there was no getting around this “Fine, Deal.”
This time you attack first, sharply jabbing your polearm at his with all the force you could muster. He jumps back and sprints around you as you move to swing your polearm. He grabs the handle and pulls it out of your grip with your ease.
‘Too easy, next time keep the polearm closer to you person and go for the knees” He hands the polearm back to you
“What do you know about the Anemo Archon” he asks you, you look at him curiously, he can tell you know he has an ulterior motive.
“You know how to get the ladies” you tease before continuing “Not much, he's been gone for millenia, at this point I doubt his existence”
He hums “Is there anyone that might know more?”
“Win the next round and I'll tell you”
As expected you lose horribly, this time he jumps the swing aimed at his legs and tackles you to the ground. He's above you, hands on either side of your head. He sees you looking up at him, your eyes unlike his have a shine to them, you still had your soul, you were still unbound. A pang of unexpected sadness rung through him
Trying to shift his thoughts he “See something you like, Y/N” You give him a firm shove to the chest to push him off you. It was easy to flirt, to distract himself from the horrors he inflicted, the lies he had told his younger siblings and the disdain his elder siblings held for him.
Anticipating his question you answer before he can ask “I don't know anyone that would know where Barbatos is. Considering the state of the city he might as well be dead”
“I doubt he’s dead Y/N” you snort a little at that
“Alright Sister Tartaglia”
The third round he decides to let you win, you knock him back against a tree with the base of your polearm, surprise crosses your face before you smile.
“You let me win this time”
“Hardly, now your question”
“How did you become a Harbinger” A dangerous question he thinks, he leans back against the tree considering how to answer.
“I wanted to become the best, I was forced into the Fatui by my father at fourteen and found my love for battle there” he dances around the truth “I devoted myself to mastering the art of battle fighting every superior I could. Eventually one of the other Harbingers recognised my talent and the rest is history”
You give him a look, he could tell that you knew he wasn’t telling the whole truth but not pressing further. You hand the polearm back to him
“We better get back Marianne will be wondering where I am”
“Marianne?”
“Another Sister, my roommate” He could hear the notes of sadness in your voice, the way your eyebrows twitch.
“Before we leave we should discuss the plan”
“Let's do it on the walk back then”
The two of you began the short trek back to the walled city. The woods thinning out the closer the two of you got. He was on his guard for any Knights that might be patrolling the area.
“Meet me on the roof on 7th day of the Ludi Harpastum at sunset, That's the halfway point by then people will be too far into it to investigate properly, the Knights will have their hands full and that's the one night The Deaconess lets The Sisters join the festivities”
The tone in your voice, the finality of it.
“What makes you think I’ll be finished with my mission in 3 weeks?”
“If I’m correct about who you're looking for, and considering you probably wouldn’t be so careless as to let it slip unless you wanted me to know, then I would say its a fruitless mission”
“I’ve searched every corner of this damned country and not a single trace of that Archon”
“Why do you want to find him anyways?”
He smirks deciding how much to tell you “After you break free I’ll tell you”
“Always a card up your sleeve Harbinger”
“Can’t let you know everything can I now?”
The city came into view, two knights guarding the city's gates. You glanced at Childe wondering if he had a plan, naturally he did.
“Ready to see what Hydro vision can do?” He sees you laugh catching on to what he was suggesting, the two of you walk around the edge of Cider lake. Activating your vision you stepped into the water as if it was earth, skimming across the surface with practised ease.
During the summers you and some of the other sisters were permitted to swim in the lake, the summer you had been recognised by The Archons you had spent almost every day down by the lake learning how to manipulate water to your will under the guidance of the other Hydro-blessed sisters.
Reaching the ancient stone wall of the city you climbed, hands finding crooks in the worn cobblestone, soon the two of you reached the top. Overseeing the graveyard at the back of the church, he grabbed you and glided down, landing softly on the ground.
“Until we meet again Harbinger” you said, turning around and disappearing into the shadows of the church, entering through the small side door you had used before.
He ran a hand through his hair, signing up to the stars hanging above him. What was he doing?

Creators POV
My head feels like it's going to explode. My mind was already a mess but this most likely turned it into pudding. Lifiting myself up I saw the face of Nahida. She was smiling and looking down at me. My mind was panicing and my gut was telling me to get the hell out of here.
"Your grace, are you ok?" Nahida asked.
I don't say anything.still trying to figure out what the fuck is going on! I try to get up and when I do I make my way towards the door. I try to open the and... It's locked. Turning around I see a frowning Nahida. My brain is telling to try the door, but my heart made me feel so upset when Nahida was sad.
"Damn it," I mutter.
Nahida smiles, grabs my hand, and sits me down on the floor.
"I sorry your grace, but you need to wait for someone,"
I was confused and tried to think of who when I heard a knock on the door. Nahida excitedly got up,unlocked and opened the door. She told who ever was outside to come in. The door opened and my mind shattered. In walked a blonde girl with amber eyes and two flowers in her hair. She is wearing a pleated white and blue dress with disconnected sleeves,a blue and white scarf with a diamond gold ornament at the end,and white stocking with white boots. Next to her is a floating figure with white hair.
"L-Lumine... P-Paimon,you're really here," I mummble.
Lumine had her standard neutral face,it felt werid. I picked her, controlled her movements, and speech. She must hate me,mayeb she'll take revenge, maybe she'll kill me,maybe she'll...
"Are you ok? " A high pitched voice asked.
I blinked and looked up at Paimon, she had a concered look on her face. I tell her I'm okay and ask why their here. Lumine says that she wanted to meet the god that had statues all across Teyvat. I apologize for what I did as a player and Lumine said she never noticed. That didn't make me feel better. I was asked questioned and I answered to the best of my abilities. Talking with Lumine and hearing her voice, was odd. In the game we rarely heard her or her brother's voice, but hearing it was nice. I tell Nahida that I should go back to finding a way home, she looked confused as did Paimon.
"But,isn't Teyvat your home?" Paimon asked.
"No,I was transported here from another world where you all are fictional characters in a video game," I told them.
They looked at me like I had lost my mind. They asked if I needed to lie down,I said no. I needed to find a way home, being here distracted me. I moved towards the door and it opened. I made my way out and saw people walking around while a few stared at me. I looked for the scholar I met earlier but couldn't see her. I planed to ask around or find a teleport waypoint. I needed to find someone, anyone who could help me get home. Walking in the streets some people tried to talk to me and I only asked about Lakshmi but no one told me where she went. I kept walking around and the more I did,the more I saw people setting up for something. I asked a random woman what was going on and she said it was a surprise. That scared me,so I figure I needed to head to Fontaine or Inazuma to get out. I really wanted to get home.
"Maybe Raiden could help... Who cares at this point!" I think.
I reach the nearest teleport waypoint and think of Narukami Island. Eyes closed as a bright light covers me. I open them and I'm greeted with some girls who are dressed as shrine maidens staring at me. I move away from the waypoint and greet them. Some of them walk off and the rest stay. It's awkward,me and these girls just standing in silence. That silence is broken by footsteps. The footsteps get closer and followed by a group of shrine maidens is Yae Miko. She walks closer to me,a little to close.
"Greetings your grace," is all she said.

I spent all my primogems on my low ar account *cough 4 pulls cough* (I made a third one out of fun, but in the server that matches my time zone + decided to use only 4* characters; i kinda neglected this account ngl)
I GOT BOTH SETHOS AND THOMA!!!
Would you believe me if I said I am at ar 59 on my main account and don't have thoma? (Or charlotte, but she wasn't on many banners so makes sense)
Well, but I can't ascend thoma yet, and I have the sumeru desert teleport waypoint unlocked, so that's a win!!
And, the bedtime story quest got me overthinking... and yes, I really wish we got to see more of dain, like we waited for so longgg....
Also, is it just me, or does dain being sensitive to the ley lines, and the fact that the abyss mages drop the ley branches just plain odd? Like the abyss mage– a monster of the abyss– dropping ley line branch mats is... something...
And the idea of dain being a younger brother is... funny; like yk with halfdan I was thinking that dain seems like the person who's patient with others, will help anyone who sincerely needs help and stuff (basically the calm, wise older brother to others), but now all I'm thinking about is dain, when he was younger, being a bit rebellious towards his older brother, throwing attitude at him, and gaining everyone's affections while having that 'I'm-better-than-you' look on his face as he side eyes his older brother😭😭
🍀
NO BC FR THE GAME WENT "lol u wanted a female electro sword user so we gave u her! ...sike we were just bantering, here is ur clorinde and her weapon in the next 40 pulls" and honestly? i think it gave me a heart attack 🧍♀️
YEAAAHHHH CONGRATS ON GETTING UR SETHOS AND THOMA ON UR ALT 😩😩 and dw i believe u bc im ar60 and still dont have heizou (chevreuse also but she was released like 2 patches ago) 🫡
and no but fr... like it probably messes with his curse and stuff too which is so foul when they intentionally tamper with the leylines for their projects and stuff 😭
but u know what would be the absolute kicker? if all his ascension/level up mats were everything dropped by the abyss order. like he uses the leyline branches dropped by abyss mages and his boss asc mats were some new big abyss world boss, and his talent mats would be our twins drops if we get them as a weekly 🧍♀️ i would laugh through the pain and tears 🥹
LITERALLY??? like,,, in my head i saw him as an only child who knew how to care for others due to him being a captain and looking after his fellow knights/soldiers + the ppl of khaenri'ah, but now knowing he is actually a younger brother.... young menace dain... hyv i beg i need a cg or an animated short or some hidden text or SMTH abt how he was as a younger brother 😭 like,,, i can see him being all starry-eyed and having a deep respect for + looking up to vedrfolnir, but the image of him being a little shit behind the scenes while all cordial in front of everyone else is way too funny i cannotntjls
#omg a convo !?#clover nonnie !!#just genshin <3#genshin spoilers#<- just in case bc of talks of the dain aq !!#I NEED MORE DAIN LORE STAT#sobs this is making me want to go back a rewrite the dain wip from years ago... pre-cataclysm and just two knights in training... ourgh
