I’ve Got My Eye On You (Law X Blind!DoflamingosDaughter!Reader)
He had wished he had met a girl like her in a different time, a different way, with different people, with more time. More time for her.
Warning: SPOILERS for Laws Backstory
It was early, too early to be awake. The sun was barely up, the sky still a dark colour before it could rise too high. I had opened the door to the library, not hearing a single sound. Getting in some early morning studying before any of my training.
"Hello?".
I shiver as I hear a soft voice. I look around, not seeing anyone. Am I going crazy? "Is someone there?". The voice calls out again. I find the voice, seeing a girl sitting by the window sill. "I can hear your footsteps, please tell me who's there". She says in a scared voice. "Who the hell are you?". I finally ask her. She turns to look at me, confusion in here face. "I don't think I know you, please tell me your name". She requests. "It's...Law". I answer her. She smiles softly at me. "I'm (Y/n), it's nice to meet you". She says happily. "I've heard the adults talk about you, when they think I'm not listening". She tells me. "So, why are you here?". She asks, suddenly changing conversation topic.
"Just some early studying". I answer. "You?". I ask. "This room has the best spot in the house to feel the sunrise". She answers. "Why not just go outside?". I ask. "I'd get lost". She simply answers. 'Seriously, how could she get lost so easily?'. "You see-". She smiles, then waving her hand over her face. "I'm blind!". She says happily. 'Shit'. "I can't go outside by myself or else I'd get lost, and I don't want my daddy to get worried about me". She explains. "Your father?". I ask her. "Yeah, he's the captain". She answers. 'HER FATHER IS DOFLAMINGO!? NO WAY!!'. "Tell me, what do you think of him?". She asks me. "He's my teacher, what else is there for me to say?". I respond. She hums, turning away to face the window. "What do you think about uncle Cora?". She asks. I tsk at her question. "He's a clumsy idiot, he hates kids so why would you care?". I ask her back.
"Come, sit with me". She requests. "The sun will be rising soon, it's nice and warm". She adds. I decide to join her, walking over and taking a seat next to her on the little sofa in front of the window. She moves to lean against the window, resting her arms and chin on the ledge. "It's been a long time since I've seen a sunset, I'm scared I'll eventually forget what they look like". She admits. She turns to face me, I look deep into her eyes. "You're still here, right?". She asks. "Yeah, I'm here". I reassure her. She smiles happily, laying her cheek on her arms. "I'm sorry, I'm just used to people leaving. Since I can't see I don't notice when they leave". She explains. "I don't get why they do that, like I'm not gonna forget that they left but...I never have the courage to bring it up". She adds.
"You said before that you could see, what happened?". I ask her. "I-...". She hums. "I ate a devil fruit that my father gave me". She answers. "He gave me the fruit and I ate it, seconds later I couldn't see a single thing. Asking him 'who turned off the lights? why is it so dark?' and he figured it out, explaining that I had lost my vision. With eating a fruit you loose the ability to swim, I lost that and my vision. That was 2 years ago, I was only 5". She explained. 'So she's only 7'. "So what's your power then?". I ask. "Funnily enough it's called the Vision Vision Fruit, I can see visions of the future when I touch someone skin to skin. Daddy doesn't let me touch anyone, he doesn't let me see anyone's future other than his". She explains. She turns away, resting her head to look out the window again. She smiles softly as the sun finally rises high enough to shine through the window, enjoying the warmth.
"We should chat like this every morning, it's nice to finally talk to someone".
~
And that's what I did. I met with her every morning and we'd chat, she mainly talked to me and I would listen. I could never tell her about my little remaining time left, or let her touch me so she'd know. I couldn't tell her or let her see my death, I couldn't do that to her. Despite her disability, she was always too happy and positive for her own good. My three years are almost up, I feel guilty to leave her but there isn't much I can do.
I walk into the library, walking straight over to where (Y/n) usually sits. I walk over, smiling softly when I see her. She's sitting in a fetal position, smiling with her head tilted to the side slightly. 'Damn she's pretty'. "(Y/n)". I call, she sits up and faces towards me. "Law! You made it! I was worried for a minute that you where still asleep and I'd have to wait for knows how long". She giggles. 'God she's cute'. "I could never, you know that". I tell her, walking over to sit next to her. As if feeling my body heat, she leans over and rests her head on my shoulder. "I know I know, but I never know you might just be tired and need a little more sleep. You do study and train a lot, you're allowed to rest". She tells me. A hot, wet drop hits my shoulder, my eyes widen. 'SHIT! SHE'S TOUCHING ME!'. I push her off, seeing her looking at me crying. "Law...". She whimpers out.
Her tears continue to roll down her face, her eyes wide. "Yeah...I know". I admit. "I know I don't have long left, I didn't want to tell you". I sigh. "Law". Sher whimpers get louder. "I don't...I don't want you to leave me". She cries. "WAAAAAAAAHAHAAAA!". She cries out loudly, sobbing. I don't know what to do, all I can do is watch her. Let her cry, let her get out all her feelings and emotions.
BAM!
The door to the library opens, I look over to see Corazon standing in the doorway. The loud noise makes (Y/n) jump, the loud noise scaring her and making her cry more. He walks over to us, looking down at us. I scowl up at him. 'Go away! She doesn't need you right now!'. He kneels down, placing his hand on (Y/n)'s back. She sniffles, feeling the hand on her back and turning to look up. "Uncle Cora?". She asks, he gives her a simple soft pat to confirm. "Uncle Cora *sniffle* please *sniffle sniffle* please save Law! I don't want him to die". She begs him, reaching up to clench his shirt sleeve as she starts to bawl again. He looks over to me, I glare back up at him. Suddenly, he grabs me by the shirt and scoops (Y/n) up into his arms. "Hey! Put me down!". I snap at him. "Shut it Law!". (Y/n) snaps, my eyes widening at the first time she's ever yelled at me. "Uncle Cora is gonna fix you, and you'll be all better, and we'll be together forever!". She cries. I huff, rolling my eyes and cross my arms.
~
A lot had happened.
Shortly after leaving the house, (Y/n) fell asleep comfortably in Corazons arm, sleeping against his chest. He had taken me hospital to hospital, trying his hardest to find someone that could help me. Fail after fail, he kept trying his hardest to find someone. Why was he trying so hard anyway? Because he secretly cared about me? Or because his niece begged him to while balling her eyes out. Her and I stayed by his side for a while now, (Y/n) not leaving his side and I not leaving hers. He was...nice. No wonder (Y/n) seemed annoyed by my answer from years ago. It felt nice, the three of us together happily
Until that day in the snow.
His smile printed into my brain, (Y/n)'s cries ringing in my ears. She tried her hardest to bang her way through the chest, screaming and crying. I knew what she needed, she needed Cora-san to place his hand on her head and tell her that everything was going to be okay. She needed protection. She needed comfort. Nothing I could give her. All I could do was take her hand in mine, she turned to me with shock in her eyes. I know she saw something in my future, I don't know what. But I didn't want to know. I didn't care. She jumped at me, clinging me as she balled her eyes out. All I could do was hold her, be strong for her when all I wanted to do was scream and cry.
After sometime, she fell asleep in my arms. Tears running down my cheek as I hold her close, clinging to her warmth. The chest we where in had shaken and we where taken to who knows where. I slid her out my arms, peaking out the chest to see we've moved. I shake her awake, seeing her red puffy eyes. "Law?". She hums. "We need to leave, we can escape and never have to deal with this again". I tell her. "Law...I'm scared". She whimpers out. "We have to go, or we'll die". I tell her. 'I'd die, you'd have your dad hovering over you for the rest of your life'. "We'll be fine, I promise". I promise her. She nods.
I grab her hand, she clenches my hand tightly as I take her out the chest. A sudden jolt on my arm makes my eyes widen, turning around to see a familiar tall man standing over us, his arm on (Y/n)'s upper arm. "There you are sweetheart, where do you think you're going?". Doflamingo, he asks his daughter. "LET HER GO!". I snap at him. I try to pull her away from him as hard as I can, but she lets go. "Run!". She cries. "Please! Go!". I break out into a sprint, running for my life. "RUN ALL YOU WANT KID! YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!". Doflamingo yells. "LAW! SURVIVLE! LIVE! LAAAAAAAAW!".
~
I jolt up out of bed, trying to catch my breath as sweat covers my body. 'That dream again'. I sigh, running a hand through my damp hair. "Captain!". I hear through the other side of my private living quarters door. "We'll be arriving at Dressrosa soon". Penguin tells me through the door. 'It's been 16 years, I need a break'.
~
The city is as loud and filled as I expected, I'd rather just go back to my study or dealing with whatever Luffy thinks about dragging me into again. But, my body freezes, my eyes widen, my blood runs cold. Those eyes, that hair, that damn smile. A young woman stands at a bakery stall, making an order. Her covered body in a turtle neck long skirted dress with gloved, a cane in one hand. 'No way, it has to be'. I watch as she reaches into her bag, seemingly struggling to find her berries. I walk over, placing the berries she needs on the little counter. "I'll take care of it". I tell the baker, he nods and takes the money.
(Y/n) looks up at me with a worried upset look. "Oh no no it's fine, I can pay for it myself". She tells me in an upset tone, waving her hands in defense. "Saves you from struggling to find the right amount of money". I tell her. She smiles softly, giggling. "Well aren't you sweet then! Thank you so much, Mr...uh...". She trails off. I don't blame her from not knowing my voice, my voice hasn't exactly stayed the same over the past 16 years. Speaking of, puberty did her amazingly. Back when she was 7 she was adorable and sweet, now she's absolutely gorgeous and stunning. She'd be what? 23 now?
"Law...Mr.Law".
Her eyes widen at my words, her lips quivering. "Law? As in-". "Trafalgar D. Water Law?". I ask. Her hands cover her mouth, tears building up in her eyes as she looks at me. Well, looks at my chest. "Eyes up a bit, I'm not as short as I used to be". I tell her, a soft smile. She tilts her head up, looking me dead in the eyes. "Sorry it took so long to see you again, I'm sure you thought I was dead". I apologize to her. Her hands leave from her mouth to sit on her chest, smiling brightly. "Not for a second, I knew you would come back". She tells me. "That day, the last day I saw you. When you touched my hand, I saw you in the future, you'd made friends, you're happy". She explains, her hand touching my arm and sliding down to taking her glove hand in mine. "I saw you, you had grown up so much". She giggles. "And quite the looker, I was very exited to SEE you again". She states playfully, causing me to chuckle.
It has been so long since I've seen her and been with her, it felt like a nostalgic breath of fresh air. She takes her hands away from my, taking her gloves off and tucking them away to take my hand back in hers. "Your hands are so big and warm, I wish to hold them forever". She hums to herself, lacing her fingers in mine. Her skin felt so soft and silky, like a cloud. She hums and smiles to herself, closing her eyes. I know she sees something with me, and it makes her happy. "And from what I can see, my wish will be filled". She says happily.
"But first, tell me about that silly black haired guy! The stretchy one!".
"I'd rather talk to you about anything else".

How do the boys (Zoro, Law, Kid and Ace) try to impress the girl they have a crush on? How do they act when their love is around? 👀💕
I have just had a week of being uncreative so I hope I didn't get too rusty. And I hope you enjoy this <3
I made it gender neurtral. Law x GN Reader Zoro x GN Reader Kid x GN Reader Ace x GN Reader
Law
He scoffs at the notion of showing off in front of anyone., let alone a crush. He’s not that kind of person. He doesn’t need to put on a show to impress you.
Law knows his superior intellect and amazing devil fruit are all he needs to impress you anyway.
Without realizing it, he’ll often info dump to you about the things he’s interested in, how to fix this bone, and how to treat that burn.
He’s the kind of guy who needs you to know he’s the most intelligent person in the room.
That doesn’t mean there's nothing there, his crush means alot to him, and he can come across as an asshole when they are standing there listening to him over-explaining things.
He knows you think he’s a fantastic fighter.
He doesn’t ask you what you thought of his moves, though. Instead, he listens intently to the chatter around the Tang, basking in your indirect praise and remembering what you liked about his performance the most. As long as you’re watching, he’ll aim to do better next time.
You are flattered he invites you to so many of his doctor duties, but you don’t need him to over explain taking blood, plus the needles, no thank you.
Zoro
Most of the time he’s not the type to go out of his way to impress anyone.
Maybe around his crush, he lifts heavier things, making sure their eyes are on him while he shows off.
But he’ll act like it’s nothing that he goes this hard every workout session.
When he’s resting, he flexes and gives you a little show.
Zoro thinks he’s smooth, but it’s really obvious to you.
How he smirked at your reaction when he picked up another weight seemingly effortlessly, though he could feel the strain.
He's the type of guy who is always lifting whenever his crush is around.
He was still acting nonchalant as you complimented his form, impressed with how much weight he was pressing.
He also loves to show off his sword techniques in front of you when a battle breaks out. His focus never wavers, but there is that little extra something he puts on just for you.
Kid
He’s a show-off, and he knows it. He gets louder and more volatile than usual. He has to make comments loudly to get your attention.
He works out in front of you whenever he gets a chance, putting on a theatrical display of his powers just for you. Not just in battle but as a general: Look what I can do! He claims he’s just fixing up the ship, but he needs your attention and praise as he swirls metal around in the sky, making things appear from thin air and turning junk into treasure.
“Get a load of this,” he barks, smirking as his metal arm grows. His massive fist clenches as he eyes you up, greedily absorbing every expression.
“Pretty fuckin’ impressive, huh?” Oh, you know he knows it is, but you humor him by agreeing. You see how he puffs up his chest proudly cackles as he sends junk flying, making sure you can see just how powerful he is.
Ace
Ace is strange, he’s both full of himself and lacks self confidence.
He’s on the striker, enjoying the nice weather and playing around with the waves, just needing off the main ship, doing tricks on his personal boat.
“Oh wow, Ace!” his attention snaps to you as you watch him.
That’s when he starts trying to impress you, knowing you like what you see. “Oh yeah? Check this out then!” He calls, a big grin on his freckled face. He uses his fire to power the striker, going faster and faster, fighting against the waves as he pulls off more complicated and challenging tricks, all for you.
His attention is always half on what he’s doing and how the expression on your face changes with each stunt, getting more daring.
He loves it, loves your claps, adores how you gasp, knowing you care about him. Everything goes to his head as the tricks get elaborate.
He always tries to show off whenever you're around from that day forward.

reacting to you getting kidnapped and being grievously injured. both recovery and death routes
pairing: trafalgar law x reader, crocodile x reader, doflamingo x reader (separate)
contents: kidnapping, blood, death, grief, general angst, and a little but of toxicity from doffy because let's be real here.
word count: 1.9k words
The stench of iron clouded your senses. Despite the heat, you shook uncontrollably, barely able to curl in on yourself. Numbness spread from your chest outward until the pain you had once been so intimately acquainted with felt like nothing more than a distant memory. You could barely hear over the blood rushing in your ears. There were voices above you, but they were far too muffled for you to make out anything aside from sharp, jeering laughter. A kick to your ribs made pain bloom from your abdomen before it tapered off into nothingness. It was supposed to hurt. Why weren’t you hurting anymore?
It had been a long time since you had been so afraid. She was an old friend, one you hadn’t been visited by ever since you met your partner. You were a weak little thing, especially in comparison to them. It had never been more obvious than now, left more of a pile of meat and bone rather than a person on the rickety floor of the old shack you’d been dragged into.
All it took was a distraction. Today was your birthday, and you were so focused on thinking about your special day, that you were taken by surprise. A sob rattled from your chest as your terror faded away, slipping from your grasp, just as your blood spilled from the wound on your belly. As if to catch the fleeing emotion, you clenched your fist tight enough for your fingertips to bury themselves into the meat of your palm. All you felt was a dull pressure.
I think I’m dying.
Whether you wanted to or not didn’t matter anymore. Another weak sob shook your body. Looking down, you acknowledged that you could reach out and touch your insides. All it would take was an exploratory hand and an insatiable curiosity, neither of which you thought you were capable of at the moment. It wasn’t until you looked up did you realize one of your eyes was swollen shut. Or missing, you thought tiredly. It wasn’t like it would matter anymore. There was no surviving this.
Acceptance did not come easy. You wanted to fight, you wanted to scream, beg, cry, anything, but you couldn’t bring yourself to move. As one last act of defiance, you flexed your toes in your boots. Even that minute task felt monumental, like you were at the last stretch of a marathon.
“I don’… Wanna-” You didn’t want to die.
There was someone waiting for you. Someone strong, someone who protected you, who loved you. Someone whose notoriety got you in this position in the first place. If you were a lesser person, you would blame them for what happened to you.
Where were they when you needed them most? You did nothing to deserve this. It wasn’t fair. You inhaled a sharp breath as tears poured down your face, mixing with your blood to create a pinkish puddle on the floor. The fact of the matter was: it wasn’t their fault, and as easy as it was to blame yourself, you knew it wasn’t yours either. Those who were at fault were above you, drinking and laughing over your battered body like they weren’t soon to follow. Your lips twitched upward at the thought. At least you would be avenged. It was a small mercy, but one you indulged greedily.
You didn’t hear the door open, nor did you see who entered, but judging by the horrified faces of your assailants, you could wager a guess. Your body moved as if on autopilot, unbroken arm sliding across the floor towards your lover, smearing gore across the wood as you reached for them. It was a shame that this was it. You only hoped they would move on without you.
If only you got to say goodbye. If only you were able to tell them not to hide from your bones, but build something new with them. As if they could bury your spine in the ground and you would sprout anew, whole and intact again.
As your vision faded to black, you caught your lover's expression. It was…
Trafalgar Law
Fear. It was only there for a second before blue light filled the enclosed space and the men who surrounded you were diced into tiny little pieces. Law would not allow his emotions get the better of him, not when you were in critical condition. Your heart was still beating. That meant he had time, he wasn’t too late. Steady hands — but, oh, how they shook when he was done with you — stitched you back together, piece by agonizing piece. Even when he was done, Law wouldn’t rest. He would spend his days watching you, counting your breaths with the rise and fall of your chest.
Recovery would be slow, made even slower by his insistence to treat you as if you were made of glass. He would be more irritable than usual, especially if you went against his orders as your doctor. If he had to strap you down to keep you from moving and reopening your wounds, so be it. As long as you were alive by the end of it to scold him for it, he didn’t care. Law could not fathom how close he was to losing you, and it will take a while to process. He might come off as wishy-washy, some nights holding you as tight as your injuries would allow, breathing in your scent as if it was the last time he would see you. Other’s, Law would throw himself into his work, so as not to allow himself to think, avoiding you when he wasn’t treating you.
If Law lost you, he would close himself off entirely. Whatever walls you had managed to tear down would return stronger than ever. He wouldn’t allow himself to mourn properly, rather, he would throw himself back into his plans full force. Barely eating, barely sleeping, barely living. The crew can tell he’s not handling your loss well, though whoever attempts to bring it up is subjected to a brutal verbal lashing from their captain. It isn’t until night comes and Law finds himself in a cold, empty bed would he allow himself to cry.
Sir Crocodile
Disbelief. Whatever Crocodile expected, it was not this. While he certainly did not expect you to single handedly beat your attackers into submission, he certainly didn’t expect to find anyone stupid enough to so brutally harm someone that belonged to him. Crocodile did not trust easily. Many said that he did not trust at all. The fact that the one person that he allowed in was inches from death was enough to make his stomach churn. He would waste no time with the fools who attacked you, dispatching them swiftly before he contacted the best doctors at his disposal to treat you. As much as he would love to whisk you away into his arms, Crocodile knew moving you while you were so injured was not a good idea. Instead, he would crouch next to you and keep you awake until the doctors arrived. As if you would break, he would hold your smaller hand in his, gently brushing your blood-smeared hair from your forehead with his hook.
Recovery would be spent in the lap of luxury, showered with not only gifts, but more of your lover’s attention than ever before. That wasn’t to say Crocodile usually neglected you, it was the fact that he was a very busy man. Normally, he would be in meeting after meeting. Now, with you laid upon silk sheets and covered in bandages, Crocodile was by your side twenty-four/seven. He would spend his days relaxed in a plush chair by your side, either reading the newspaper or filling out paperwork. The doctors who treat you would never be alone with you, always under Crocodile’s threatening stare, as if daring them to slip up in some way.
If Crocodile lost you, he would be numb. He would attempt to go back to his life before you. While he knew it wouldn’t be easy, he didn’t realize how your ghost would haunt him. Your pillow still carried the scent of your shampoo, the sweets you kept hidden in his desk would crop up from time to time, and the indent on the cushion of your favorite chair would not fade no matter how many times he flipped the cushion. On busy days, Crocodile found himself looking for you in his office, always ready with a silly quip or observation he would huff at, only to be met with hollow disappointment when he found nobody there. He goes full scorched earth, ridding himself of all your possessions, attempting to cut you from his life entirely. Even then, he still dreams of you.
Donquixote Doflamingo
Rage. You were his. The threat of his wrath should be enough to guarantee your safety. But it didn’t, and here you were, barely breathing at the feet of scum that were worth less than the mud on his shoes. Doflamingo kills them swiftly — it was a shame he couldn’t take his time punishing them, you, however, took precedence — before he finds himself by your side. He prods you, as gentle as he is capable of, with the tip of his shoe. When you squirm, he releases a breath he didn’t know he was holding. A good partner was hard to come across, and while Doflamingo was not picky with his flings, he did prefer someone with a little more substance to rule beside him. You would be hard to replace. Doflamingo calls for the best doctors in Dressrosa to attend to you. While he waits, he allows you to dirty his pink jacket with your blood, draping it on top of you so he doesn't have to look at your battered form for longer than he has to. While he would never admit it, not to himself and never aloud, seeing you so broken left a pit in his stomach.
Recovery would be tedious. Without you around to terrorize tease, Doflamingo finds himself bored with his daily comings and goings. More often than not, he’s beside your bed, frowning down at your sleeping form, waiting to get your reaction to some ridiculous, teasing notion he had in store. He hates seeing you so unresponsive. Doflamingo is used to your laughter, your stuttered words, your shy expressions, not whatever this is. It isn’t until now that he realizes just how attached to you he has gotten. For the hundredth time since Doflamingo found you, he regrets not torturing the scum who hurt you more. Once you awake, you will be confined to the palace until further notice. You will only be safe if you are within his grasp, and he knows now more than ever, that he will never let you go.
If Doflamingo loses you, he will be furious. The doctors who were supposed to save you are unceremoniously killed in his rage. And so is anyone unlucky enough to cross his path for the next few days. It isn’t long before Doflamingo is looking for your replacement. The palace is empty without your presence, and there is a you-shaped hole he intends to fill before he can think too hard as to why he misses you so much. No one is good enough for him. No matter how many applicants he gets, no matter how many new playthings color his life, none of them will ever be you. Doflamingo finds himself discarding people from his life quicker than usual, especially if they did something you would never do.

Supernova Trio (Hand Holding)
🐅Law🐅
🐅He will hold his S/O with his free hand
🐅It takes forever for Law to hold his lover’s hands. He isn’t one for public display of affection.
🐅He will probably start holding his lover’s hand subconsciously on walks around a new island they are exploring or shopping
🐅It starts off with him slightly his hands brushing the back of his lover’s hand. He moves his hand away from his lover’s hands quickly and acts nonchalantly.
🐅Later it will have his index finger wrapped with his lover as he is glancing away and staring at something interesting.
🐅He will pull away when his crew is found staring and feeling a bit shy
🐅It is small steps with him before he tangles his fingers with his S/O and he enjoys his time walking with them
🐅He might give his S/O knuckles a slight kiss
🐅He does enjoy how his S/O drags him around to see things.
🐅And while his crew were to show excitement at first, they now learned to contain their excitement so as not to embarrass their captain.
🌷Kid🌷
🌷Kid loves holding his S/O hand.
🌷He does switch hands from his metallic hand to his right hand.
🌷No matter what hand he uses his S/O hand will look considerably smaller. As his hands wrap around his S/O hand engulfing it.
🌷If he is about to lose his temper his S/O can squeeze his right hand and it does help calm him down a bit
🌷His metallic hand is cold to the touch, and yet when holding his S/O hand he is still so gentle with them
🌷He will grab his S/O hand when they are walking around the island, he will also hold his hand even as they are taking a break and sitting
🌷It is a way to show off that his S/O is taken
🌷He will nibble on his S/O’s fingers or the back of their hand if S/O is getting too shy
🌷He wouldn’t want his S/O to get away and holding his S/O also shows that they belong to him and only him
🌷He will have his S/O drag him to shops as they walk around
👒Luffy👒
👒Luffy is holding his s/o hand even before his S/O become they become S/O
👒He is dragging his S/O around town anywhere he sees something interesting
👒He holds his S/O hands tightly as they adventure together
👒He will hold his S/O wrist if their hands are busy
👒He will grip his S/O a little too tight at first but after a while, he gets a good handle on it.
👒He will wander around, but if his S/O is holding his hand it will be like a leash, but if his S/O gives a light tug he will be right back.
👒He will forget he is holding his S/O hand as he reaches for something or tries to grab something.

Foot of The Gallows
trafalgar d. water law/reader - friends to enemies to lovers, angst, hurt/comfort, manipulation (not by law)
ao3 link | masterlist | ask away
Trafalgar D. Water Law is a surgeon centuries ahead of his time and is set to be put to death for alleged witchcraft and dark magic, although there’s little evidence besides the fact that his patients all seem to survive, and the pale white splotches that dapple his skin, marking his face with the pattern of a skull. You’re a former childhood friend, now bittered with age and arguments, simply trying to make your living as an apothecary, wanting nothing to do with the man you had once been joined at the hip with. What happens when his closest friend manages to convince you to save his life by invoking a little-used law, saved only for cases where the justice system has failed?
You marry the man you utterly detest, that’s what happens.

“Shoot! Take a Panorama”
CW: semi-public sex, degradation (slut, whore, bitch), oral (m!receiving), slut-shaming, nickname (mamas), dacryphilia, rough sex, but dw aftercare at the end!
PAIRING: TattooArtist!Law x Blk!FemReader
WC: 1.9k
🫧🗯️: Thank you so so much for all the support on my lastest fics, it means alot to me!🫶🏽 uh ive never gotten a tattoo yet, so if the tattoo experience isnt accurate... oh well! I had to watch a video to get as best as i could ijbol. Also way off topic but has anyone watched bottoms, like its probably one of my fave movie releases this year.
MINORS DNI
(Cheese!)
Hand in hand you and Perona skipped down the cold sidewalk. It was just a little past midnight and both you and Perona were all jittery with excitement. While you guys were at Peronas apartment, she had this insane idea that you guys should have matching tattoos. "It'll be so cute!” She squeals, holding up her phone showing some ideas. Searching through pinterest you guys had finally come to an agreement on the design, matching stars in hot pink ink right on your waist. You guys spend about thirty minutes looking for a parlor that's open this late.
“Ohh it's gonna be impossible” Perona sulks, throwing her phone across her bed. Laying down in defeat
“No, look! I found one and look they take walk-ins too!” You exclaimed you show her, her mood quickly changes while she springs up from the bed and starts jumping
“Well let's go!” She shrieks, opening for her closet revealing all different shades of pink and black clothing pieces. She put on a cute two piece outfit and you were ready to go!
You guys approach a small store, built with red brick decorated with neon lights flickering ‘Open 24/7’. Deserted parking lot, with only two cars assuming that they both belong to the employees.
“Is this the right place?” Perona questions.
“Umm, It should be” you reply with a little uncertainty in your voice “It should be fine though”
In sync you guys make your way towards the glass doors, met with a cold breeze sending yall into a shiver.
“Hey what can I do for y'all?” A woman's voice vibrated through the room, capturing your attention. “My name is Bonney”
“We wanted to get matching tattoos.” answered Perona, her arms tangled around yours squeezing them.
“Awh, that's so cute. Give me a minute, I have to tidy up the studio.” Bonney existed the counter and headed into a room towards the left
“Ahhh! I'm so excited” Perona shrills, making her way towards some chairs lined up against the brick wall.
“I know right!” You respond admiring all the beautiful artworks lined up against the wall varying with color and realism. ‘The people here must be really good’ you thought to yourself, sitting next to perona.
Bonney comes out of the room waving to Perona letting her know it's time. “Wish me luck y/n” Perona whispers, clearly nervous but also excited at the same time.
“Law should be ready for you anytime soon” Bonney reassured you, closing the door behind her.
Now that you were alone, you finally realized the severity of the situation. You didn't think about the consequences till now, and how irresponsible it may seem that this was decided just on impulse. But not just that but what about the actual process? Your pain tolerance was below average.
“You can come in now.” you hear a rough voice from across the store. Reluctantly you grab your purse and get up from your seat making your way slowly into the room.
Hesitantly Knocking on the door, “Hello”
The door opens wide to reveal a tall melanated man littered with tattoos from head to toe.
“Show me your design” He asks, not even giving you attention. Pulling out your phone, you show him the design. He pats onto the chair gesturing for you to sit down. You lay down onto the chair facing towards the ceiling while he fishes for his tools. “Where do you want it?” He asks, still searching for his tools.
“Right here” You lower your shorts and point down towards your waist.
He moves his chair towards his desk and quickly starts sketching out the design, “Is this alright?” he asks, displaying his outline, you nod at his impressive work. You flinch at the coolness of the alcohol. Which he wipes down the area of your stomach making sure that it is nice and prepped. He sets down his stencil sketch on the region where you want the tattoo to be, tearing it off gently leaving the ink on your skin.
A few seconds later you hear the intimidating buzzing noise of the machine coming closer. “Let me know when you're ready” Law asks, wiping down the tip of the needle. You nod nervously. ‘Its now or never’ you think to yourself.
You squirm from the contact of the needle converging on your skin, you tense up a little from the pain but with time the pain becomes much more tolerable. It takes no time at all, you finish as quick as you started. He pats down the area of the tattoo with care then gets up “Don't make any sudden movements, I'm gonna grab a bandage real quick” he declares standing up leaving the room.
You reach for your purse, digging for your wallet. But it wasn't there!!? ‘Ohmyfuckinggod; you thought to yourself immediately you sat up “Shit!” you whisper shout from the pain of the freshly inked tattoo. No way you left your wallet at personas apartment are you kidding how does that even happen. You were sure that it was in your purse when you left.
You hear Laws footsteps come closer and lay back down, you're so fucked. He comes in setting down the bandage and running through the aftercare steps. You are not even paying attention, worried about how you'll be able to even leave. “Did you get that?” he asks
“Um, yea.”
“So cash or card?”
“Well about that…I kinda sorta left my wallet at home.”you say “Do you guys take apple pay?”
“No.” he says bluntly
“Well h-how about I cash app you?”
“I'm not allowed to receive tips”
“Pleaseee” you were pleading for you life
He shakes his head no
“Well, how am I supposed to pay you?” you say whining a little bit.
A devilish smirk sneaks up across his face “I have an idea.”
Next thing you know, your knees are on the cold hard tile, tears streaming down your face, nose running, and your mouth is stuffed with laws long filthy dick. He viciously grabs your braids pulling you back, “Do it correctly whore” he seethes
“I-its t-too much” You say sniffling
“I don't want to hear it bitch, you will take it all.” He says while slapping his slimy cock on your face then pushes you back onto his dick causing your eyes to roll back. You continue to suck on his dick, twirling your tongue around the tip. Using your hand to make up for the rest of his cock twisting it round and round. You look up to him with your big brown eyes pleading. And my oh my is he enjoying the view, your crystal teardrops flowing down your beautiful face, you breasts spilling out of your tank top, it's like a masterpiece to him.
He thrusts his dick more into your mouth causing you to choke, “You dirty lying bitch, saying you can't take it all, well look at you taking me in so well” he snickers. Seizing your head he pushes you back and forth, your mouth rocking against his cock, “you need to go faster, I'm getting bored up here” law says. Mindlessly you obey, rocking vigorously on his cock, gagging you go faster and faster taking him whole. He pulls your head once again and jerks your head in a smooth rhythm, your tongue rotating in a fluent pattern on his penis sending him into a state of unconsciousness. Without warning you feel his warm gooey cum shoot down your throat. You open your mouth, rejecting the feeling “Nuh uh don't even think about, swallow it all.” nodding eagerly you gulp it down, shivering from the weird sensation traveling down your esophagus. “Open wide” Law orders, obediently you do just that.
“Ah” You open your mouth wagging your tongue, he sticks his thumb inspecting your mouth.Your face was a wreck, saliva and drool smeared all across your face, nose running, stained trails of your tears.
“Good girl, now get on the chair and get on all fours for me”
Without a second to think, you remove your clothes leaving them on the floor, you jump onto the chair raising your plump ass in the air. (If yall are confused it like those chairs that can retract down like this)
“You filthy slut, your pussy is leaking like a goddamn faucet are you not ashamed?” Law whispers into your making you even wetter. Even when you had just met him, you were already so attracted to him. His deep rough voice, his tall figure, slim long fingers, and his tattoos crawling in every corner of his body. It was hard to keep your composure when he drew the tattoo on you, and now seeing him underneath his clothes was enough to send you over the edge. You have to admit this was definitely not how you imagined this night would go – poor Perona is probably already done with hers waiting for you in the lobby– but you can't say you're mad about it.
Grazing his fingers across your already slimy clit pacing it back and forth teasing at your entrance. He slowly slips his lanky fingers into you, moving it slowly and steady taking in your warm embrace. Going in out into your melty cunt, preparing for his aching dick itching to enter you. Releasing his fingers a smooth ‘pop!’ sound pronouncing itself. Effortlessly he pulls on a condom, gears it straight towards your hole. Gradually, he inserts himself into you returning into that warm enclosure.
“Mmph” your eyes roll back at the fulfilling sensation of his cock into you, pulsing your cunt begging for more. You arch your back a little bit yearning for his whole dick.
“You're such a greedy bitch, arching your back like a greedy little slut. You want me so bad don't you?”
“Mhm” you mutter
“Nuh-uh use your words lil mama or else I won't be able to help you”
“I want it! Pleaseee”
“Good girl” law says in a rewarding tone then grabs your hips violently thrusting into you relentlessly showing no signs of slowing down. You reach the ends of the chair, trying to keep yourself supported from his endless stamina. “Im gonna fuck you so good, your pussy wont forget my dick.”Law grunts as he hits your g-spot repeatedly, it sends you over the edge, drooling spilling from your mouth, eyes rolled back beyond, brain turned to mush. You can't even speak, being an incoherent mess.
“L-law, i-m gonna c-cumm” you mumble out disorderly a trail of spit spilling onto the chair.
“C'mon bitch, come on me like the dirty slut that you are” Law muttered. “Agh” ,without a second to waste your orgasm comes flowing through your body. You shudder at the sensation of it crashing down. Panting hard, Law continues until he himself releases into the condom.
You wake up with your whole body in shambles, ‘what the fuckkk’ you mutter to yourself. Trying to lift yourself up you feel a great surge of pain in your back. You look around the unfamiliar scenery to realize you're not in your bed, or not even Peronas?!?!? Panning your eyes down to the chair that you were sleeping in, the memories come back to you like a flood. “What the fuckkk” you say even louder, understanding the severity of the situation. Law enters the room with a towel. You stare at him in disbelief, you cannot believe what you have done.
“Don't worry about your friend, I sent her home already” Law winks
You raise your arm towards your forehead, hiding in shame of what you have done. You can hear Law chuckling in the background and you just wanna drown yourself.

Try Again
Pairing: Law x black!fem reader
College! au
You and Law were both willing participants in a summer fling that turned sour. You make it your life's mission (for three months) to make him regret tossing you to the wayside so carelessly. It all comes to a head at this party.
wc: 4.025k
cw: mentions of alcohol, inebriation, smoking (weed and cigs), i say vape smoke like once, shit gets angsty at the end, crying
a/n: this one is for my college girls :). I was planning on writing an Ace x reader, but I found a random draft and the spirit of Law took over me lol. I got way too into this, so I plan on turning it into a series (hopefully max 5-6 parts). Please please pleasee! Feel free to give me feedback and let me know how you feel about certain writing choices/ plot points. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Part 1- The idgaf War
He was not expecting to see you here.
You knew it. You were counting on it. Law most likely remembers you as the super introverted girl who’d much rather stay inside with a glass of wine and a good book than go out partying with friends. You knew he viewed you as a fledgling of a woman, too naïve to be taken seriously.
It should also be known that all the heaviness in the atmosphere that contained you and Mr. Trafalgar (is what you called him in your head, using his first name feels far too intimate than he deserves) was mainly his doing. You always knew he existed. He was a friend of a friend of a friend, and you would see him out now and then, but there was no reason to speak to one another. The two of you officially met at a train station during the summer. After a week of sharing the frustration that train delays brought, he came up with the idea to exchange numbers. To- you know, let each other know about the status of the train. After a week of turning texts like ‘trains five minutes late’ into conversations about anything from tastes to relationship statuses, he suggested you guys catch dinner together.
Thus began a summer whirlwind romance, which swiftly swirled its way into a tornado as the fall semester's start was approaching. Law, who was interning at a hospital seemed increasingly busy at times he had previously allotted for you. He canceled plans he made. Phone calls went from once a day at lunch to twice a week- if you were lucky- at odd hours. You had no idea what to make of the situation, other than look at the optics and realize that you would be left in the cold if things went on this way. You made the call to end things, and to your dismay, he agreed. Although your fear had played a pivotal hand in the way fate fell, it could have been sated if the asshole had offered a sliver of reassurance at that moment. The two of you agreed to stay friends, but neither of you meant it.
Staying friends was code for ‘let’s still follow each other on social media and kind of act like nothing happened, though we’ve seen each other's bare asses.’ It would be much easier to play it cool than to explain to any of your mutual friends why the two of you might not want to be around each other.
The recluse version of you had played the front for 90 days so this plan would be most fruitful. To social media- and by proxy, Law- you were busy attending class, working, and studying. When you would post a selfie (semi-rare), Law would like it but never felt compelled enough to text you. Maybe the reminder of how gorgeous you were wasn’t enough for him.
There was the possibility the two of you would run into each other, yet you accounted for this. It pained you, but you avoided the quaint cafe you introduced him to that quickly became your guys’ spot. The cafe (Puddings’) was not your favorite- you were smarter than that- but a former safe space. You also passed up on several parties and random outings Nami or any other of your friends invited you to if you so much as got an inkling he would show up.
Only you knew that those 90 days you went unseen were preparation for this month. You planned for this night to be the season finale of the fiasco that was you and Law’s (situational) relationship, and you would go out with a bang. For 90 days, you planned, scrapped, replanned outfits, and worked out ferociously. You salivated at the thought of this night. Your objective was simple- you would pop out looking like a knockout and the realization that he fucked up would hit Mr. Trafalgar so hard he would spontaneously combust.
D-day was a party your buddy Luffy was throwing. Nami, one of your closest college friends was adamant that you made an appearance tonight, complaining about how long it’d been since everyone was together. You didn’t object. Luffy was known for throwing the best parties in the area, especially after winning a big boxing match. You knew of Luffy through Nami (his manager) who told you Law had recently become a part of Luffys medical crew for the biggest fight of his career thus far- against some guy named Doflamingo. He would be present for this party, even if only to stand on a random wall with his arms folded like Nami described on one of your Facetime calls a while back.
Since you were here, like this, Law knew that it only meant one thing: A declaration of war. The scales were already tipped in your favor. Your armor of choice tonight was the tightest little black dress in your closet and a pair of black Converse. The dress had a square neckline and showed just enough of your chest, and if anyone got close enough, they'd see the frills from the lacy white bra you wore underneath. Your hair was piled on top of your head in a perfectly picked puff, with face-framing coils on either side of your face, right in front of your ears. Your lips were glossed clear and your makeup simple- the embodiment of cute and casual. To others, it always appeared like you were effortlessly beautiful. Mr. Trafalgar probably thought you didn’t know how to wield your beauty like a sword, to make him kneel at your feet with an offhanded glance. But he was going to learn very soon.
The smell of weed, vape smoke, and booze slapped you in the face as you made your way into the function. The two Buzzballs you pre-gamed with hit you halfway into your Uber trip, so the flush of party wind was disorienting. You pushed- well shimmied, it was pretty packed- on. Clung to your left shoulder was a small black purse with your necessities- lipgloss, debit card, ID, and some dum dums (real bad bitches keep candy in their purse). In your right hand is the unopened bottle of Bacardi Tropical you promised Nami and Vivi to bring.
It didn’t take long to find them in the kitchen area of the party, with the usual crew- Luffy, whom you heard before you saw, solo cup raised with his signature smile. Sanji has a cigarette in his mouth, a blunt behind his ear (you would question him about that later), and a pretty brunette under his arm you hadn’t seen before (typical). Zoro is leaning against the counter closest to Luffy chatting with…. Law? Well, you couldn’t see the dickheads face, but you knew damn well that was the back of Law's head you were looking at. You smiled devilishly to yourself. This was just the situation you were expecting. You stride over and greet your friends.
“Y/n!” Luffy exclaimed as soon as you set the bottle on the counter by the other ones. “I’m glad you could make it!” He put an arm around you and smiled even wider. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages!” You giggled. Luffy is always great vibes when you’re around him.
“Yeah, I guess I have been a bit mia…” You trail off with a playful smile. Nami yanks Luffy’s arm, chastising him for almost spilling whatever was in his cup on you. Vivi laughs and greets you with a hug. Sanji introduces you to the girl you know for a fact he met no longer than a week ago as the ‘love of his life”. Her name is Viola and she has your blond-haired friend wrapped around her finger. Someone taps your shoulder, and as you turn to see who, your eyes transiently focus on Mr.Traflagar’s visage. It was hard to tell if he was looking at you, the brim of his hat was pulled pretty low tonight. His face was facing yours. It was pretty dark, but you noticed his lip twitch into a scowl as he took the joint from Zoro’s hand. Law clearly senses the bloodlust in your demeanor. You quickly adjust your gaze to the person who requested your attention.
“If I knew you were bringing more liquor, I would’ve texted you. We ran out of sake about thirty minutes into the party,” Zoro says, peering at you with an easy grin. You roll your eyes and display a cheeky smile of your own.
“Oh, please. You’ll drink anything you get your hands on so shut up, and let's take some shots.” You turn to face the counter full of liquor and grab a cup. Zoro moves past you and fills his cup with the Bacardi you just brought. Nami forces him to pour a shot for the girls before he makes off with the rest. The four of you cheer, then lean your heads back to take sips (in Zoros' case, gulps) of the vodka.
The burn produces heat in your throat, forcing you to part your lips and exhale. However, it seemed the side of your head would catch fire long before your windpipe. Maybe the incoming tipsiness had you imagining things, but you swear you could feel his eyes on you, dancing across your body and soaking up your frame. Still, you refused to acknowledge his presence.
No one has noticed that the area y’all are conjugating in had suddenly become a war zone, let alone the blaze emanating from Law’s stare. Your target was now to your immediate right since you and Zoro had traded places. Zoro and Luffy are going shot for shot, entertaining Nami and Vivi. Sanji and his new lover had quietly disappeared after you all took a shot together.
“Y/n.” He said it loud enough for you to hear it over the music, but it wasn’t like he was raising his voice. His tone was firm and even, and clearly laced with the influence of weed. It seemed to ring in your ears and vibrate in your brain.
You faced him and scanned his countenance with your eyes. He looked… okay. Fine, more than okay. He looked the fuck good. He wore a black hoodie with a white top underneath, his favorite pair of jeans, and black Jordans. There was a decent amount of space between the two of you, but you were close enough to see that he was, in fact checking you out, with his eyes trained on your ass in particular. Shit, it was poking in this dress, which was the defining factor in you choosing it tonight.
You quickly downed the rest of your cup.
“Trafalgar,” you replied cooly, not faltering under his punitive gaze. Seriously. Law looked genuinely bothered by your presence. He was squinting at you, almost as if you were some mirage. The look in his eye made your chest burn with feelings you were actively trying to suppress. Still, he would not win this battle of wills. Not when you knew that simply being here was enough to ruin his night. You craned your head to the side and gave him an easy smile. A smile that you know for certain would weaken his composure.
It strikes him, you’re sure—his right eye twitches.
“I…..” he trails off, scanning your figure again. You clear your throat and turn to face him. “I wasn’t expecting you to be here tonight.”
The statement stunned you because it was exactly what you wanted. It also seemed- dangerously honest? Law was never this forthcoming in the past. He’s the liar-by-omission, roundabout truth-telling type. What is he playing at? You glance at him, brows furrowed.
“Why wouldn’t I be here? Luffy and I are good friends.”
“You weren’t at the match.”
“I couldn’t make it. Besides, I’m here now, having a great time with my friends.” The two of you hold a gaze. Law parted his lips but quickly decided against whatever he was going to say. A chuckle escapes you. “Aren’t we friends, Mr. Trafalgar?”
He raises a brow at the use of his surname.
“No,” He says after a ten-second pause. He takes one step toward you, and you have half a mind to help him bridge the gap. “I’m not your friend y/n.” His tone is resolute and his eyes, though half-lidded, reflect the same.
The closeness of his voice resurfaces dangerous memories. Heat rose in your cheeks and the pit of your stomach, but you would not let that control you. You steadied yourself, remembering why you were in this position in the first place. How easy it was for Law to distance himself from you after the night the two of you almost crossed the line. How he responded to your rant at Zepplins with ‘ if that’s what you think is best for you’ then immediately left when you told him you wanted to end things. The text he sent you after saying the two of you would always ‘be cool’. He didn’t fight for you then, so he doesn’t get to make you horny now. You smile sweetly, but the sentiment turns sour by the time it reaches your eyes. He recoils at the look.
“Good,” you say warmly. There was more you could say, more you wanted to say, but you knew it would sting more if you kept it short. You spin around, not wanting to spend another moment looking into the asshole's eyes. You rejoin your friends' conversation as if you have never been missing.
Zoro pours too much tequila into your cup, and you can’t even be bothered to scold him for it. You immediately down half and chase it with a Gatorade, hoping that the electrolytes will be enough to save you from a hangover in the morning. Zoro glances at you, one brow raised.
“You okay there?” Your moss-haired friend has always been extremely perceptive. You press your lips together and nod your head.
“I’m great. I just want to make the most of tonight.” He looks at you again, straight-faced. Zoro’s not buying your shit, but he won't pry any further. Not tonight at least. His eyes focus just past you, then back on you again. “What?”
He raises his cups to his lips to hide his smirk as he nods in Law’s direction. You feel your cheeks burn and a finger at your shoulder, followed by the side of Law’s head. You refuse to move anything but your eyes. Zoro turns around to give the two of you as much privacy as possible.
“Y/n,” Law starts. His breath is heavy in your ears and his voice reaches every part of you. “I get the feeling if I don’t ask you to speak to me now, I’ll never hear from you again. Please, talk to me.” You lift your chin and pout in frustration. Law wasn’t playing fair. He straightens himself as you turn to face him, arms folded.
“You want to do this right now?”
“Not here.” You squint. “On the porch.” He adds. You shrug at him and Law visibly relaxes. Two gulps emptied the contents of your cup. You grab a water bottle and previously opened Gatorade and make your way out of the party. Nami and Vivi catch you on your way out. You tell them you were going to get some air. They ask if you want company, but you shake your head and stride out of the party into the night air. Not once do you look back to see if Law is following behind you, though you hear his footsteps once under the plywood of the porch.
Luckily for you two, there was no one outside- at least anyone who would care to listen in on this conversation. You move to the ledge and wait for Law to join you. You soak in the ambiance around you as you take sips of water. It was pretty, the audio blend of the bass and drums from the party mixed in with the night sounds. There was a light breeze you let wash over you as you closed your eyes. Law clears his throat, but you remain as is.
“Hey, you alright?”
“I’m fine.” You were not fucking fine. You’re racking your brain for a strategy, or any indication of how he would play it. This was a shocking turn of events. The Law you accounted for would never draw you out of a party to talk, where several eyes could witness. You played with the cap of the bottles you placed on the ledge.
“Is it too much to ask you to look at me?”
“Yes.” Law sighs. You place your hand on your chin and glance at him. He takes his hat off and runs his fingers through his messy waves before pinching the bridge of his nose. He looks up and his grey orbs widen, shocked that yours are staring back at his.
Fuck it, you thought. I’ll just do whatever I want tonight and pretend it never happened later.
You bit the inside of your cheek as the silence pressed against the two of you. The tension was so palpable you could see the air currents moving between you. You wish you could grasp it and throw it across the street.
“Y/n….” He straightens up and leans against a support beam.
You followed his movement with your eyes. “How many times are you going to say my name?”
He chuckles and looks up from the brim of his hat in his hands directly to you. The sincerity in his eyes softens your heart.
“I know what I’m about to say might be too late, but please. I need to tell you this.” His words made you straighten up and turn to face him, fingers awkwardly drumming at your sides. The both of you were clearly out of your element here. Law clears his throat and continues, his eyes never leaving yours. “I tried to push you away back then. I’m sorry. After that night when we almost-”
“You don’t have to say it”
He rubs his shoulder with this free hand. “Yeah, sorry. Listen y/n, it wasn’t your fault. I panicked. I don’t know. I knew then that I liked you way more than I felt I should have, and I didn’t want to. I don’t know why- maybe fear- I don’t know. I just,” he exhales. “I thought that if I let you any closer, it would devastate me if I lost you. I didn’t account for losing you when I was icing you out. I wasn’t thinking about how my actions would affect you, only about saving myself. Leaving without talking about it was a big mistake, and I knew it as soon as I got up. But I couldn’t let you in back then. I was…. terrified.”
The heaviness of the indignation boiled and anviled inside your bosom. Your hands were balled into fists at your sides. Tears prickled at your eyes, but you refused to let any fall. You refuse to hide your pain either.
“Law, I-” you started, unconsciously stepping towards him. “ I don’t believe you. This doesn’t make sense to me.” He raised his arms slightly as if to grab you, but lowered them again as his face studied yours.
“I- I know.”
“No, you don’t know.” you took another step. “Why didn’t you tell me this when I told you how I felt that day? Or any moment after that? You-” Your fist was raised, and two tears fell down one side of your face. “How dare you come and tell me you let me go because you were terrified! You? I thought you didn’t care about me. I thought you discarded me because we didn’t-” You were holding back sobs at this point, and your fists weakly hit Law's shoulders with every sentence. “You made me- I- I felt.”
He pulls you into his arms and you collapse—everything you held inside escapes you in the form of silent tears against his hoodie. The faint smell of his cologne and weed fills your nose. You were too overwhelmed by the release to be ashamed of yourself for crying in his arms like this. Law presses you tightly as he whispers a slew of apologies into your ear. You honestly don’t know if you believe him. Right now, it didn’t matter.
Laws hold felt like a steady anchor in the new waters that was the vulnerability between the two of you. He presses his lips to your forehead and you pull away slightly to look up at him. He grimaces and pulls away a little more, using his hoodie to dab at your eyes.
“Fuck, y/n. I-” He pauses. “I don’t want to keep apologizing. I know it doesn’t do much for you. But it’s tearing me apart inside that I made you feel like this. I fucked up.” You inhale sharply.
“Yeah,” you whisper. Law lifts your chin to his gaze. You could see that a few tears had escaped him as well. You lifted your hand to his jaw, which clenched slightly at your touch.
“I missed you so much, y/n.” You sniffled as you looked at his lips, suddenly wanting to watch his mouth formulate every word. You were soaking in this new side of Law, not caring about its potential expiration date. You ran your thumb over the outer corner of his eye, wiping away the wetness that gathered there.
The sound of police alarms pierced through the night and the tender moment. You jump away from each other as Lieutenant Garp slams his car door and walks up the porch.
“Evening, L/n.” He looks to Law and furrows his brows a bit. “Trafalgar.” His eyes train back on you, a bit of surprise mixed in them.
“Uh-”
“I suggest the two of you get ahead of the crowd that’s about to disperse and call for your rides now. This party is over.”
“Uh, okay.” Garp walks away from the two of you and into the party of unsuspecting youth. You chuckle and shake your head, wishing you could be inside to witness the conversation Luffy and his grandfather would have. You’re sure Nami will tell you the next day. You turn back to Law, who had jumped back a respectable distance at the sight of Garp. His hat was already back on his head and he tapped at his phone screen awhile before looking at you”
“I’ll call you an Uber home.”
“You don’t have to-”
“Correction,” he interrupts. “I’ve already called you an Uber home. It’s ten minutes out.” Your body temperature went up five degrees.
“Well, thanks.” He shrugs and looks off to the side, his jaw clenched again. Another five degrees. You pull at your dress and play with a pebble under your foot.
“Y/n,” Law starts, commanding your gaze back to his. “I know I don’t deserve it, but please, let me make it up to you. I want to try again. I want to do it right this time.”
“Law…” He shook his head.
“You don’t have to give me an answer now. Text me when you get home safe. Goodnight.” He plants a quick peck on your forehead. Before you can respond, you hear Vivi call out your name from the doorway as the crew approaches you. When you look back in Law's direction you find his spot vacant. He disappeared in the growing crowd. You pull your phone out of your purse and two notifications stand out.
The first is the Uber details.
The other- is a text from Law’s Number. You deleted his contact in anger in August, but that combination of digits is burned into your memory.
hey, it’s law. sorry for stealing a kiss. couldnt help myself. brunch on me at Puddings tomorrow to make up for it. text me when you get home. please

here with some of my oc’s backstory!! (i love her) / (warnings: ooc!doffy & sengoku, oc’s mother (x rosinante), timeline might be off (i envision her to be 21/22 post time-skip), brother!law x oc) / (note: i mention cupid having dark hair, but that’s about it. you could imagine it from a reader’s perspective as well!! not really sure how i envision cupid yet, just her fits)
(inspired from this one moment where i was sick in bed and let my imagination run wild.)
donquixote rosinante’s daughter cupid was to be kept a secret from the world.
he hadn’t known she existed until she was five, through a letter that held tear stains and smeared ink. his one and only ex-lover from the east blue had fallen ill and had a month to live. in less than three weeks later, corazon finds himself standing in front of a newly added gravestone, a small dark-haired girl sleeping peacefully in his arms.
i promise i’ll keep her safe. she is your legacy. thank you for trusting her with me, i’m sorry we missed the chance to be a family and i’m not sure if i’ll ever be able to get over losing someone so great. i’ll make sure she grows up the way you want her to. i’ll see you in the next life, my beautiful alia.
when sengoku found corazon sitting in his office with a child in his lap, he nearly had a heart attack. corazon explained the situation…even letting some of his feelings slip. when sengoku pried about the mother, he thought he’d died and resurrected on the spot. monkey d. alia…a familiar name, someone he’d watch grow up with his adopted son. he wasn’t upset though; he and garp had raised them both to be young naval commanders. although alia had suddenly disappeared six years ago and garp refused to tell anyone his daughter’s whereabouts, he was proud of them, a warmth swelling in his chest.
yet his blood ran cold as he realized he shared a granddaughter with garp. he made a mental note to ask garp if he had any idea and if so, why he didn’t feel the need to tell him.
sengoku agreed to keep the child a secret, but only if he was allowed to raise the girl and train her to be a marine. corazon hesitated a bit; not wanting his adoptive father to shove his views of justice down his daughter’s throat, but he trusted sengoku enough, nodding his head at the idea. he promised her he’ll stop by every chance he had.
unbeknownst to them, a certain man sat just below the open window..smiling at the precious news from his little brother.
within just a year, sengoku watched so much potential grow in cupid, she was such a strong girl who seemed to excel in everything he put her through. for a six year old, she had more self-discipline than most marines. she never gave up and proved herself every time.
so imagine the feeling he gets when his oldest son pays him a visit, asking for a favor. doflamingo has never been forgiving; a silent threat in the air as he demanded a warlord position and custody of cupid. sengoku silently prays for corazon’s mercy and gives him want he wants with not much of a fight, only asking that cupid never ends up dead or on a bounty poster.
corazon’s heart shatters as he hears the words fall from sengoku’s mouth. tears welled in his eyes at the sudden wave of grief that hit him, a small amount of anger bubbling under his skin. he told me he wouldn’t hurt her. cora clenched his eyes shut at the words, an image of both cupid and alia flashing through his mind. his decision was then made:
i’ll go undercover. i made a promise to alia and i won’t let him be the reason i break it…and i’ll stop whatever madness doffy has planned.
x+x
hearing the news that her father was joining her on the numancia, cupid allowed her mind to ease. she trusted and loved her father to take care of her, and stuck to him like a parasite. you’ll never be alone, he told her. i’ll always be with you.
some time passes and cupid quickly becomes a main asset to the donquixote family. she’s always being watched by doflamingo though; something she noticed the minute she stepped foot aboard. he didn’t have to be present for her to feel his strong gaze. she trained restlessly, sometimes in secret so her dad wouldn’t scold her. she wanted to be as strong as her parents…maybe even stronger.
she soon meets a boy named Law, her interest in him beginning when he shows up seeking refuge in the family, saying he doesn’t have much time to live; words she’s heard before. she soon finds herself following him around the ship, observing him and trying to help him get away her father…
one day though, she feels a familiar pain in her chest: her father was taking Law around the world in hopes to find a doctor that’ll heal him. she cried silently as she eavesdropped on the quiet conversation between the two brothers, her heart desperately wanting to go, but she knew doflamingo would never allow that.
that night, she stares out into the dark sky, searching for a ray of hope; for herself, her (new) brother, and her father. even though she was a child, she was able to piece together her uncle’s plans for dressrosa. she’s always been able to read people’s next move and sometimes hear their thoughts — something she noticed when her grandfather sengoku trained her alongside marines — yet around those she trusted and loved, she never felt the need to.
the day Law and Corazon parted ways with the family, she hid in her room—she had told them she’d see them again, a stern look in her eyes. she formulated an escape plan to follow the two, one that involved a lot of thought: every second matters, i can’t fail.
when the news that cupid had suddenly disappeared a month exactly after the departure of Law and Corazon, and just before her birthday, doflamingo could only laugh. he knew Corazon was smart enough not to break a promise with him, so the thought of a nine year old girl somehow being smart enough to escape from him drove him insane.
you’ll come back to me eventually. just because you’re blood, i’ll allow you to escape this once. consider us even, rosi…because your life is mine once i find you.
+x+
here’s my vivre card! don’t tell anyone i’m giving this to you, it’s our secret.
the warm voice of her father clouded cupid’s mind as she stared at the small paper in her hand, the freezing temperature suddenly causing her arms to wrap around her body. a familiar voice caused her to untuck her chin from her chest, yet when she looked, nobody was near.
it’s been almost six months since Law and Corazon began their journey. a part of her wishes that her father had tried harder to include her in their search, but she knew that he only wanted to keep her safe. she also knew that by leaving, he would suffer more.
she figures that by now doflamingo had figured out cora’s secret. she prayed every night hoping the evil man didn’t beat her to them, and so far he hasn’t. yet that thought alone made her move her legs just a bit quicker in the thick snow, fighting against strong winds.
a tall pink silhouette caught her eye as she was beginning to feel tired, a small burst of adrenaline causing her to run towards the figure. she tried using her haki — a term she learned about after confiding to baby 5 about her power sources — to hear what they were talking about, but using it at a distance isn’t something she learned yet.
and so she did the next best thing she could think of:
“DAAAAAAAAAAAD!! LAAAAAAAAAW!!”
corazon froze in his spot when he suddenly felt his daughter’s presence in the surrounding area. neither of the males could hear her voice due to corazon’s devil fruit power, but the wide-eyed look on law’s face as his eyes traveled behind cora’s head caused law to slightly panic.
“she’s behind me, isn’t she…?” corazon spoke. his head hung low, his eyes clenching shut as he grit his teeth. he should be angry. angry at cupid for acting on impulse and following them. angry at cupid for leaving his brother’s ship without thinking of the consequences she’d face. instead, he chuckles. its a light-hearted chuckle, an image of alia popping up in his head.
law nodded, still in a slight panic and shock. he was happy to see his sister again, but he was hoping that the next time they met was when he was fully healed and recovered. in a way, cupid reminded him of lami; he thinks it’s because of how she clung to him like they’ve known each other for their entire lives, or how she’s the only other person (after cora) he trusts.
+x+
“you understand, don’t you cupid?” she does, but wishes she didn’t.
cupid was speechless; she wants to scream at her father for getting himself into trouble, the sense of danger continuing to grow with every second. she wants to beg her father to take her and law and leave immediately, she just reunited with them both, she doesn’t want to leave this land without the two of them alive.
her loving, protective father, was going to give his life in exchange for her and law.
whether her brother was aware of this or not, it was going to happen. she knew her father didn’t have it in him to kill the man, and even after she tried convincing him to let her be a distraction while the two got away, he refused.
tears welled in cupid’s eyes as she realized that this was it. the long time of waiting for her father to finally come back for her, has gone down the drain. the four years she has spent knowing him has felt like two days. both of her parents have sacrificed themselves for good reasons, and the thought makes her angry. she wants to destroy all the evil people in the world for causing pain to those she loves — including those who’ve caused harm to Law — and make them suffer. she cries uncontrollably, the cold air around her disappearing due to the heat rising in her body.
the look on his daughter’s face broke his heart. cupid was a perfect mix of him and alia; a reminder of the love that once bloomed between the two, a period of time where cora felt nothing but bliss. alia was a major inspiration to him, both as a human-being and a marine, and he prays that alia isn’t too harsh on him when they meet again.
her name’s Cupid. i named her after the god of love, because she’s so full of it and she reminds me of the love we shared share. she’s a bit shy at first, but as soon as she warms up to you she can be a bit much to handle. she likes to observe everything: people, animals, places…she’s a very adventurous being, and through that, i think she’s unlocked part of her observation haki. she’s only five, yet she’s so strong and so smart.
please, as a dying wish of mine, do not let her be forced into anything she doesn’t want to do. let her grow into her own person. i’ve been thinking more about our fathers’ ways of living…and i can’t imagine a soul like hers serving people like them. i have a strong feeling that cupid will be a big threat to both the government and pirates alike.
she’s always been special; this whole island loves her. at first i thought maybe it’s due to my dad’s reputation, but i’ve come to find out it’s just because of her spirit and humanity. she’ll make history one day. she knows i don’t have much time left, and she’s been so understanding. i can tell with every passing day that she’s trying to make this time more enjoyable and peaceful for me. she also knows about our separation and all about you, and she says she’s excited for the day for the two of you to meet — it’s kind of some sort of bragging right for her.
please, take good care of our cupid. one day she’ll understand the importance of her life, but as for now, she’s too young. attached below is some ways to contact my brother and his colleagues, they’re trustworthy people and dragon owes me one. if you ever need to contact them, please do so for any reason. be safe, rosinante. as long as cupid is alive, so is our love.
corazon was prepared for his death the moment he decided to go undercover. he had written dragon a long, long letter, explaining to him the situation that he’s in. as long as cora stays alive long enough to carry law and cupid to safety, his mission ends then, and he can rest peacefully (while hoping his body is found). silencing both children, he hides them in a wooden box, waiting for doflamingo to finally find him again.
+x+
“you’ll both be safe here. and,” corazon took yet another, bloodied, deep breath; his eyes bouncing between both of his kids, desperately hoping that in his next life he remembers their faces. “i love you.”
the last memory cupid has of her father is one that’s bloody, gruesome, and heartbreaking. but the words he spoke to her are engraved in her mind.
as long as she remembers she’s loved, this life is worth continuing to live.
+x+
★ an: i still have sooo many more ideas for cupid’s backstory (involving cora and alia) but for now i’ll settle for this. please let me know what i could work on!! i’m still getting back into the groove of writing :p

Since m/m is so rare to find for one piece works, I'm gonna contribute and make some too!
I will not do certain non-con things. I will do any character from one piece (but if I don't really know them I'll watch some scenes and go from there)
I don't normally do angst bc I personally don't like it but I will do it if asked

New Side
Captain of the Heart Pirates, Trafalgar Law something new about his loving and caring girlfriend while out on a much needed date night.
07:00AM
07:00AM in the morning was the captain’s favourite time of day. Early in the morning, the sun starting to rise and the crew starting to wake up to get started for the day. While the crew was all fast asleep off in dream land their captain was still awake working with one of his consistent all nighters.
Law looks up from his work, looking at the clock in his office to see the time in the morning. He can’t help but let a soft smile raise to his face, knowing that in a matter of minutes-
KNOCK
KNOCK
KNOCK
Right on time. The door slowly opens, a familiar (h/c) girl pokes her head in with her usual happy smile. “Good morning, love!”. She greets happily. “How’s the work coming along?”. She asks as she walks into the office and closes the door with her foot, walking over to his desk. “Morning”. He greets up back, watching her walk over with tired eyes. (Y/n) holds out one of the two cups of coffee, Law happily taking it from her. “Thank you, (Y/n)-ya”. He thanks as he takes a much needed sip.
(Y/n) smiles and takes a sip of her own coffee. The two having matching but colour coordinated cups, since Law takes his coffee with extra coffee and (Y/n) taking hers with extra sugar. “You knooooow there aren’t many calories in coffee, don’t you think you should take a break and I’ll make you a nice meal? And you can only eat so many rice balls to get that 2,500 average”. She explains, breaking the silence.
Law sighs as he sets his coffee down on his desk, not looking at her. “I know you’re a doctor and all but I’m just worried for you is all”. She adds, concern in her voice. He knows that she’s right and bringing attention to it because she cares for him. “I know, you’re right”. He sighs, leaning back in his chair and rubbing his forehead. “And you’ve been cooped up in here for days, it’s not healthy! The others are worried too, even making jokes that you’re dead”. She adds, more concern in her voice.
He chuckles lightly, his heart touched by how much she cared about him. “He would have loved you…”. He whispers under his break. “Pardon?”. (Y/n) asks, tilting her head to the side. “How close are we to the closest island?”. He asks her. “Oh! Uh last time I checked we should be close, maybe around 10 to 12 hours?”. She answers, not fully sure.
He sits up from his seat, leaning on his elbows on the desk. “We’ll head there. Restock on supplies and go out”. He tells her, then reaching for his coffee to take another sip. (Y/n)s face brightens, a wide close mouthed smile stretching across her face as her cheeks glow a pink tint. “Really!?”. She asks excitedly. “We can go to a bar and have some us time”. He adds.
She takes a deep breath and nods, giggling to herself. “That sounds great! I’d really love that!”. She says happily. They sit in a comfortable silence, before (Y/n) looks at the time and jolts. “I should really go get breakfast ready, I’ll come by later with breakfast”. She states, taking steps back as she does. “And try getting some sleep before we dock tonight”. She adds. “I’ll try”. He tells her, his lip turning up in the slightest.
He watches as she scurries to the door, blowing him a kiss before she leaves. He chuckles to himself and takes another sip of his coffee, enjoying its bitterness. Even if he was alone cooped up in his office for hours doing the same old boring work, he’d still think about her. His favourite was the first words she ever said to him, the first time they had ever met and laid eyes on each other. “I like your eyes, very beautiful but stern and scary!”. With a bright smile on her face.
~
Night had soon rolled around, the ship docking at the nearby island at the sea side village. Law was able to take a few hour nap before getting up and making his way to his shared bedroom with (Y/n). He walks into the bedroom, seeing (Y/n) checking herself out in the mirror in a nice cute dress. She makes eye contact with him in the mirror, turning around and posing with her hands behind her back.
“Soooooo, how do I look?”. She asks him, giving him a little spin. He lets out a chuckle as he walks over, placing a kiss on her forehead. “Beautiful as always, angel-ya”. He answers. She giggles as she turns away from him, cupping her own face. “Aw stop it, you’re making me blush!”. She giggles like a teenage girl. Law chuckles at her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. “Come on, let’s go”.
~
The pirates set off into the village to gather supplies while the captain and his misses went off to the local bar. The two strolled into the bar, it wasn’t the fanciest of places for a date but time together was better than no time. Law and (Y/n) walks over and sit at the bar, sitting on the bar stools next to each other.
“Two drinks please!”. (Y/n) asks the bar tender happily with a bright smile, holding up two fingers. “Coming right up”. The bartender replies, reaching over and grabbing two bottles, placing them in front of the two. The couple grab the bottles, Law popping his open and taking a sip. A tug on his sleeve causes him to look to his right at his lover. “Can you open it for me?”. She asks with a nervous giggle.
Law lets out an amused chuckle as he takes the bottle from her, easily opening it and handing it back to her. “Thank you love!”. She thanks him, smiling up at him. “No problem, angel-ya”. He responds with a sly grin, causing her to blush and giggle. He knew that she loved that nickname, but it was more him stating what she is.
The couples moment is ruined when loud obnoxious laughter fills the room as the doors to the bar slam open. A group of rowdy pirates walk into the bar, the whole mood of the bar changing. Law glares at the group as he notices their most likely captain walk over and sit on the bar stool a couple of seats away from (Y/n)s. How had he not noticed another pirate ship docked, must have docked somewhere else. Even worse, their filthy captain sitting so close to his girlfriend.
A soft grip on his knee brings him out of his thoughts, looking down and following the arm to see the soft face of (Y/n). She doesn’t need to say a word, her eyes telling him “hey, it’s okay” where he can basically here her soft voice telling him so. Just with her eyes she successfully calms him down, him sending her a soft nod to tell her “I’m okay”.
“Well well well, what’s this pretty little thing doing here?!”. The man’s loud voice sends Law back on edge. He looks back at (Y/n), seeing her smiling still at him as she turns and takes a sip of her drink. “Aw, what’s the matter?! You shy or something?!”. The man questions, leaning closer to her. He jumps from his seat to the one closer to her, sitting right next to her. “Come on sweetheart, no need to be shy”. He flirts, getting right to her ear.
She goes unphased, taking another sip of her drink with a hum. “Hey bartender, can I get the name of this brand? It’s very good”. She asks the bartender in a sweet tone. The said bartender looking at her with a nervous look, looking between her and the man in her bubble. “U-uh yeah, it’s a fruit blend from the East Blue”. The bartender answers, then quickly going back to work. “Hey! I’m talking to you bitch!”. The man next to her yells, literally in her ear.
Law grows more angry and anxious, his whole body tensing up. He feels another soft squeeze on his leg, this time without having to look at her (Y/n) telling him “it’s okay”. “Come on! Think you’re so hot shit you can’t talk to me!? Come on bitch, no need to be such a cu-“. Like in a flash before he can finish his sentence a bottle smashes over his head.
The man shuts up as bits of glass stab into his head as blood leaks from his head. In his dazed state, (Y/n) stands up and grabs him by his collar, pulling him closer to her. “YA WANNA FINISH THAT FUCKING SENTENCE??!! CANT A WOMAN ENJOY A DRINK WITHOUT SOME UGLY FUCKTARD OF AN ABOMINATION SCREAMING IN HER FUCKING EAR??!!”. She yells, spit getting in the guys face.
She throws him to the floor, letting out a small sigh. “Great, now my dress is ruined and I had to waste a good drink”. She mumbles as she looks down at her alcohol and blood covered dress. “Especially on date night”. She whispers, pouting. She sits back down on her seat, her sweet smile back on her face. “Sorry for the mess Mister Bartender”. She apologies, clapping her hands together.
The man looks at the girl with fear, taking a large gulp. “I-it’s no problem, h-h-here! A replacement on the house!”. He says, quickly grabbing a replacement drink. “Aw thank you! You’re so kind!”. She thanks happily, taking the drink and tries to open it. Once again she can’t, so she turns to Law for help. When she does, she sees a face of pure shock on his face.
She tilts her head to the side, blinking. “Is something wrong, darling?”. She ask him. He lets out a loud breath, turning into a chuckle. “Marry me”. He mutters. “Pardon?”. She asks him, raising her eyebrow. “Why don’t we head back and spend some time together while the ships empty?”. He suggests, a very sly smirk on his face. “My my, aren’t you cheeky”. She giggles with a smirk growing on her own face.
Law gets up from his stool and grabs his drink, leaving money on the bar table and holding his hand out to her. (Y/n) smiles as she takes his hand and hops off the stool, grabbing her drink as the two start making their way out the bar. As the two walk out (Y/n) purposefully walks over the man’s body as they leave, her hugging Laws arm and resting her head on him.
Law would never admit it to her or anyone and take it to his grave, but seeing his girl like that turned him on on a whole new level.

Could you do a HC about the ideal partner for Law, Zoro and Kid? What kind of person they would fall for and which traits it needs for a long lasting relationship ❤️
Oooh yes, I can do this!
Written for a GN reader!
Law
Law needs someone who can challenge him, and push him out of his comfort zone.
Someone who isn’t scared to argue with him when they think he is in the wrong.
Law also needs someone independent, he can’t handle high-maintenance or clingy people. He needs to know you can make your own mind up and have your own views regardless of what he thinks.
You need to be okay with his family, the heart pirates are alot to handle but he won’t compromise on this.
Animal lover.
Someone who is okay with limited PDA and knows he has his own way of showing love and affection.
Someone with a wikied sense of humor like his.
Kind, he may not seem it but he needs someone who is soft and kind and tries to bring out his caring side more.
Smart, likes to read, someone who can match him in conversation.
Nerd. If you are also a big nerd into comics he will find common ground with you and feel he can be his true nerdy self around you.
Honest. Law doesn’t like people who lie or try and manipulate him.
If you're loyal to him he’ll be loyal to you.
Alright, so he likes people to be dependent but he also deep down likes being his partners ‘scary dog privilege’
Must hate bread. Or eat the bread from his meals for him.
Understanding. Law has some damage and needs someone who gets that.
Zoro
Zoro doesn’t have a very big checklist of the ‘type of person’ he goes for.
Just don't be loud or bossy and he’ll vibe pretty well with you.
If you are a huge sword nerd he will be all over that and if you also like to work out he will be delighted to have a workout buddy.
Napping is a must. Either snuggle up with him in the sun and take a nap at his side or simply just be okay with him napping as much as he does. He needs someone laid back, and can’t handle a loud or intense personality to date.
He is happy to spend all his time with his partner he just needs someone who is also happy to enjoy a comfortable silence with him.
You don’t need to be into drinking, again, as long as you don’t tell him what he can and can’t do he’s happy. He would like to have a casual drink with you sometimes though, when he’s a little tipsy he is happy to go on long rants and talk about his thoughts and feelings.
Be his partner and his drinking buddy.
Be his emotional support compass. Be able to stir him in the right direction, and I do mean physically and not emotionally there.
Grab him his arm and just pull him.
You need to be firm with him. Loyal and honest and also have a good sense of humor. He likes to have a chuckle and he does have a silly side.
Kid
You need to keep up with this boy. He can’t handle someone who is easily upset or sensitive. He needs someone to match that same wild spark that runs through him.
Have a passion for adventure and don’t be scared to get your hands dirty.
He wants someone who doesn’t shy away from his loud and boisterous nature. Embrace him for him.
Also needs to be liked by Killer. If you don’t pass Killer’s vibe check there is a huge chance you won't pass Kid’s.
He enjoys picking fights and starting arguments, he lives for some passion and some shouting with the person he’s courting so scream, shout, and give him just as good as he does. Challenge him, don’t be scared of offending him.
Be okay with how rough he is, Kid needs someone who understands that and doesn’t try and change who he is, and doesn’t want to sand down his edges.
Be there for him regardless of his flaws and he will open up to you and you can make each other a better person with time and understanding.
Love the thrill of the fight. Nothing makes his heart sing like fighting a hard battle side by side with the person he loves.

Black Leg Sanji
It wasn’t obvious at first.
Sanji treated you the same as anyone else, always feeding you when you were hungry or offering a pleasant word when you shared the same space together. Sure, he didn’t fawn over you like he did the ladies, and he certainly didn’t treat you as roughly as he did Zoro, but the two of you had your own rapport. Sanji was nice to you, you were nice to him. That was all there was to it. While it was no secret — at least not to the observant eyes of Nami and Robin — that you wanted a little bit more from the flirtatious cook, you were happy with what you got. There was no reason to ruin a good thing with childish feelings, especially not when you were so inexperienced with them.
What you had was fine. It was good even, you supposed.
That was until Sanji started treating you differently.
It happened almost overnight. The camaraderie you shared with him grew into something entirely new. You weren’t sure what to do about it. When you woke up that fateful morning, Sanji seemed distant, though he wouldn’t stop staring at you with the most bewildered expression you had ever seen. Instead of setting a plate down in front of Nami or Robin first, he placed a breakfast platter right under your nose, a rosy blush staining his cheeks. The final nail in the coffin was the shaky compliment you got from him as you left the room.
“You look positively ravishing today, Y/N.”
You froze in place, fingers curled around the doorknob. When you turned, Sanji blinked at you a few times, lips parted as if he wasn’t sure as to what he said. Seconds passed — though it felt more like years — of the two of you staring at one another. Ashes dribbled from Sanji’s cigarette onto the floor. You shuffled your feet. It was completely silent, save for the sound of your heart thundering in your chest.
“Thanks,” You finally said.
With that, you slipped out the door, unable to stand the tension a moment longer. Something squirmed in your chest, and an anxious tang in the back of your throat made you want to throw yourself overboard. It was one compliment, it didn’t mean anything, you told yourself.
You weren’t sure what scared you more. The idea that it meant nothing, or the idea that Sanji might like you the same way you liked him. Either way, you couldn’t stop trembling. You hoped that whatever this was would work itself out on its own without your intervention.
Spoiler alert: it didn’t.
In fact, it got worse.
Sanji hovered around you more often, going from occasionally asking if you needed anything from him, to asking every twenty minutes. While he didn’t stop doting on Nami and Robin, he found himself too preoccupied with watching you to remember to refill their drinks on time.
Worst of all, Sanji wouldn’t stop complimenting you. They were far clumsier than the usually smooth flirtations that rolled off his tongue, but they were more than enough to get under your skin and into your heart. You didn’t miss that unmistakable glitter of pride in his blue eyes whenever you blushed under his flattery.
What you wouldn’t give for everything to go back to normal. When you realized you harbored a little crush on Sanji, you never expected it to be reciprocated. Now that it was, you weren’t sure what to do. You had never been in a relationship before, and with your luck, you’d end up screwing everything up.
You flushed when you felt his eyes on you, trailing from the top of your head to your feet. Gentle footfalls approached you, and you braced for an inevitably awkward interaction that you would replay in your head for hours after it was done.
“Hello, my sweet—” Over the past few days, Sanji had gotten more confident with the pet names, much to your chagrin — “Care for a refill.”
“If you can make it alcoholic,” You replied, staring pointedly at the ocean. If you looked at his ridiculously handsome face right now, you’d crumble to dust.
“Anything for someone as lovely as you.” You could practically hear his dumb smile on his dumb lips that you wanted to kiss stupid. Frowning, you fidgeted with your fingers.
You heard Sanji tip the pitcher as ice clinked together, filling your glass. The smell of sea salt filled your nostrils. There were words bubbling in your chest and up your throat, threatening to spew forth and coat the deck with bile. You bit your lip to keep that from happening.
“For you.” Sanji handed you the glass, and his fingers brushed against your own. They were warm, the skin was soft and well maintained. As always, you wondered what they’d feel like cupping your face, Sanji’s lips against your own.
You couldn’t keep it in any longer.
“Do you have a crush on me or something?”
Sanji’s mouth fell open. Before he could speak, you bulldozed right over him. “It’s okay if you do, I don’t really care, I’m just curious. I mean, maybe I would care because I’ve had a bit of a crush on you since forever. But that’s stupid. I’m stupid. I need to stop talking right now. Why can’t I stop talking?”
“You’re not stupid,” Was the first thing that Sanji said, surprisingly stern for how red he was. Followed by an almost incredulous, “You like me?”
“That’s what I should be saying” You cried. “You’re not supposed to like me back. I have no idea what I’m doing.”
He stared at you for a moment before reaching to remove his cigarette from his mouth and dangle it between two fingers. “You’re in love with me?”
“Well, that’s a really serious way to put it, but yeah. Sure. Whatever. I’m in love with you. There! I said it.” You let out a manic cackle. Your face felt so hot, like you were about to burst into flames any second. “I’ve never been in a relationship. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what I’m doing.”
Sanji grabbed you by the shoulders, his expression serious. “I don’t know what I’m doing either. We can figure it out together. If you’ll have me, of course.”
Your arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him into a tight hug. “Okay. Together then.”
“Together, my sweet.” He said, so suave as if steam wasn’t coming off of him from how hard he was blushing.
Not that you were much better.
Trafalgar Law
You hadn’t meant to overhear. Really, you didn’t. You were passing by the engine room, arms full of supplies you were supposed to deliver to the team, when you overheard your name. Maybe it was nosy of you to start eavesdropping, but anyone would if they were in your position. Once you heard Shachi and Penguin say your name, you stuck around to see what gossip had been floating around on the Polar Tang about you. It was a fact of life, one you refused to be held accountable for.
What you didn’t expect was to find out the captain had a crush. That in of itself sounded wholly ridiculous, and at first, nearly tore your heart in half. You had been harboring feelings for Law for a long time now, none of which you were confident enough to act on. Part of the reason you never confessed was because you had hoped he was too damned awkward to have a crush on anyone else in the first place. The other part was because you were inexperienced. Love was not something that came easy to you. It was messy, rough, and altogether stressful, none of which you wanted to deal with.
What really got you though, was the fact that out of everyone in the entire world, the infamous captain of the Heart Pirates had feelings for you.
You really, really hadn’t meant to overhear.
With your heart beating out of your chest, you shuffled past the engine room and delivered your supplies, wishing you were anywhere but here. This was bad. Law had been avoiding you for weeks, and now, you knew why. At first, you worried you had gotten on his nerves enough that he was finally sick of you. You enjoyed talking to him, even discounting your little crush. Whenever Law had a free moment, you found yourself by his side, chattering away over whatever had caught your fancy. He was a good listener, chiming in with a smirk every so often to show that he was paying attention. Recently, however, Law had started to dip into adjourning halls when he saw you coming, or take his meals in his office rather than sit with you in the mess.
It would almost be easier if he hated you. Then you wouldn’t be sweating profusely in your boiler suit, scared that Law would show up around every turn. How could you look him in the eye knowing that your feelings for him were reciprocated? All you knew is you were thankful he was avoiding you. It made staying as far away from him as possible much, much easier.
You were confident you were doing a good job getting your tasks done without running into the captain until you, quite literally, ran into him. The top of your head knocked directly into his chin, sending you sprawling on the floor and making Law frown. A frown that deepened when he saw you.
Still, he helped you to your feet.
“Watch where you’re going, Y/N-ya.”
“Right, sorry. Bye,” You said, skirting past him.
Law didn’t let you get far before his hand shot out to grab your wrist. His brows were furrowed, and you tried not to think about the glimmer of disappointment in his eyes. “That’s it?”
“What?”
“You’re usually always talking,” He said.
You removed your arm from Law’s grasp. He let go easily, thank goodness, you were fully prepared to wrestle him to get out of this conversation if you needed to. “I just don’t feel very chatty right now. Bye.”
With that, you turned on your heel and marched down the hall. It was quiet for a moment, only the sound of your footsteps resounding against the walls of the Polar Tang. It wasn't until a second, much heavier pair joined you did you start to pick up the pace. To which Law responded to by matching your speed, easily gaining on you. His strides were longer than yours. Two of your steps equaled one of his. At this rate, it would only be a matter of time before he caught you, and then where would you be?
So you started running.
Law faltered for a second before he joined, boots like thunder against the floor. Instinctively, you ducked around the first corner, hoping to lose him, before your stomach flipped and you, once again, ran directly into your captain.
That asshole. He shambles’ed you.
“Why were you running from me?” If he was hurt, he hid it well through an entirely unamused mask. You swallowed hard, shuffling your feet slightly under his gaze.
“I had the runs.”
Law gave you an unimpressed look. “No you didn’t. Now tell the truth. Why did you run from me?”
“Uh.”
You were really in it now. If the universe had any amount of love for you, there would be an emergency happening in about five seconds from now that would demand Law’s attention. But, of course, nothing happened. You were trapped.
“Uh,” Law repeated, his usual smirk worming its way onto his face. It wasn’t until then that you realized just how close to him you were, nose mere inches away from his chest. Your cheeks blazed.
Taking a couple steps back, you fidgeted with your fingers. “It’s none of your business.”
“It is my business when one of my crewmates runs from me,” Law countered.
He had you there. You weren’t sure how to get out of this, or even if you could get out of this. This was it. D-Day. Your tongue felt too big for your mouth, the pink muscle flailing uselessly. It was hard to breathe as your heart pounded furiously enough to make you feel lightheaded. Finally, after a full minute of silence, you couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“Ireallydidn’tmeantobutIoverheardShachiandPenguinsayyouhadacrushonme.”
As he processed your words, all of Law’s confidence leaked away, the tips of his ears turning bright pink, confirming what you already knew. His pupils darted to your face in search of something.
“What did you think?” Law licked his dry lips and tried again. “What did you think when you heard that?”
“I don’t know because I’ve had the biggest crush on you since we met!” There. You said it. That wasn’t so bad. “I didn’t know what to do, so I was avoiding you.”
Tugging on the brim of his hat to cover his face, Law asked, “So what do you want to do now?”
“Didn’t you hear me? I don’t know! I’ve never been in a relationship before, how am I supposed to know these things?”
“I haven’t either,” He confessed.
You let your forehead knock against his chest. A chuckle rumbled against you as Law brought his hand up to cup the back of your head. His touch was delicate, barely there at all. You couldn’t help but lean into him. “That doesn’t help at all.”
“Get some dinner,” He said. “We can eat in my office together and talk about it more then. No more running.”
“Says the guy who avoided me for three weeks.”
Law only let out a huff while you laughed.

Law Falling in Love with Fem!Reader who does Tattoo
🐅Law🐅
Word Count: 785
He always came in every once every couple of months, it always caught her interest when he did. His tall lean frame caught her interest first, with a spot white fuzzy hat covering his hair and his eyes. An aura around him seemed dangerous, and mysterious but approachable as his golden eyes made eye contact with her when her boss pointed to her. And he smirked.
He always came for a touch-up, their conversations were always short but lighthearted, while she retouched his knuckle tattoo. He didn’t flinch as he handed her his hands, calloused and strong and she found herself integrated by the words ‘DEATH’ written on his knuckles and had a conversation about that.
“Surgeons always deal with death,” he answered simply, over the soft buzzing of the needle piercing his skin.
“You are a doctor?” she questioned tilting her head and rubbing the paint of his knuckles looking at his knuckles closely to see any spots she missed. She couldn’t dare look into his eyes, every time she did, she could feel her cheeks heat up and her heart flutter.
“Something like that,” he answered cutting the question short. She knew better than to question more, in her line of business customers had a strange way of sharing too much but too little of their lives, and he was the type to share too little. Instead, he asked questions about her.
She spoke of her childhood, how she became a tattoo artist, and the few tattoos she got. He would laugh at her wild stories, a deep throaty laugh, and a smile that would only make the dark-haired man attractive.
Every time he came, he would ask for her, ask for her to retouch a few of his tattoos and even ask for more tattoos. He would ask her about her life and know the small details about her life. She had shared it with him. It always left her surprised and a bit embarrassed with how much he knew about her and how little she knew of him. And every time she saw him, he looked so much older, a little beard growing on his chin, or he grew a few inches or was a bit more muscular. He always took her breath away.
The first time she saw him without a shirt, she took in how built he was when he asked her for a larger tattoo on his chest. He praised her talent, she was barely nineteen and looked more like a man every time, he visited. Every time she saw him, he looked so much older, a little beard growing on his chin, or how he grew a few inches or was a bit more muscular. He always took her breath away. He lay shirtless under her while she began tattooing his chest another heart.
He spoke lightly of why the heart was special about an old mentor of his who helped him during bad times in his life. The smile in the middle of the chest was just a reminder of his mentor and all he stood for. The tattoo took all day as the conversation they had was light before he it became deep and she understood him more and heard him laugh a lot more at bad jokes she made, or when he spoke so highly of the friends he traveled with. Or how his parents were doctors, and he was interested in it too.
“Sora would have kicked Germa 66’s ass if didn’t listen to the marine captain,” Law said as they found themselves joking and talking about an old popular comic, they both read as a child.
“Yeah, but Stealth Black had been spying on them they would have won,” the battle.
He scowled a bit as she hit a sore spot but also at her comment. She finished the tattoo with him thanking her and leaving. She smiled watching his figure disappear through the door as she knew she was falling for her client and was ignoring the danger.
The last time he came it was a surprise, the had asked for another large tattoo this time on her back. She stared at the jolly roger wide eyed, he was the infamous Heart Pirate Crew’s captain that the north blue had been whispering out. She stared at the man she now saw as a pirate but yet she still saw the man she loved the one that made her laugh, the man that knew small details about her life.
“I am leaving for the Grandline,” he told her, “I would like you to join,” his golden eyes staring into hers as he waited for the answer. How could she say no?

Foot of the Gallows
trafalgar d. water law/reader - chapter 5 - 3.2k
ao3 link | masterlist | series masterlist | next chapter
5.) lion's bane
A powerful sedative once dried and powdered. When picked fresh, it can be pickled and then eaten to help children sleep before significant procedures. Legend says it was once used to make a fierce mountain lion sleep, so that it could then be put into the royal menagerie.
You’re on your way back from foraging for a certain mushroom that only grows deep in the forest when you see someone leave your shop, which is interesting. Because your shop was always closed during this specific time, on the same day every week, it makes you freeze before you sprint back to the shop, fearing some version of a robbery only to find…. a clinic.
Lined up around the first floor of your shop are dozens of people staring at you while you stand there with your chest heaving, your harvesting sickle held out like a weapon. And sitting behind the counter, in your stool that has always been your stool since you could walk, is Law, focused entirely on the swollen wrist of a mink-hybrid child. Tiny little cat ears flattened to their head while a doting father hovers, a bushy white tail twitching back and forth as Law murmurs and draws a shimmery black string of mana a centimeter or two over the child’s wrist. The string flashes, sinking into the child’s skin, watching as the wrist stops swelling, while Law scribbles down something on a piece of paper— your paper!
He blinks at you as you stand there and give a little wave as you look at the line of people. They’re mostly peasantry, the same people who you would have ended up writing prescriptions and waving the payment, though you do see a few nicer-dressed folk, who look rather embarrassed to be sighted alongside the lowborn seeking Law’s care.
“You were gone, so I opened up my clinic here.” Law gestures to the line and how he’s set up at your counter. Using your pens and paper. Offering the younger patients sweets you saved to keep off your hunger during rushes.
“You’re in my stool and using my paper,” the words come out before you can stop them. And you feel your face heat up. Because that’s not what you’re really mad about, but you still want to let him know that you’re mad about them.
So you turn right on your heel and go upstairs to start to dry the mushrooms you’d foraged, but it’s not right, because you’re supposed to be downstairs when you do this. After all, that’s the best place to do it. It’s not too humid, and the light around this time of day is perfect even when you’re an hour late or early from coming back. But it’s too loud down there, and the floors will be covered in mud, and you’ll have to clean it all again before you can start, meaning that the mushrooms will take longer to dry, or they may not dry correctly at all.
It’s ridiculous. You know that. They’ll dry fine on the kitchen counter as long as you cut them the same way and use the same spells to help wring the moisture from them. But downstairs was where your mother had taught you how to do it. Where your Uncle had helped you learn the spell to pull the water from it, and it was always where you had done it.
Downstairs is where Law had become your husband now, too.
With matching embroidered cuffs and necklines, as was standard for the couples that could afford it, it was your fault for not clarifying to the tailor that he didn’t have to do that. You look down at the thread around the cuff of your sleeve. The serpentine body entwined with the ivy. Constricting, tightening around the neckline of your dress, and by instinct, your hand goes to your throat as if to ensure nothing is there.
Why do you keep having to remind yourself that Law had never choked you on that day? You place your hands flat on the counter, counting down from ten as you had learned to do when your mind got the better of you in these moments.
Law can feel the prickle of annoyance and anxiety trickling down his back as he helps the next person in line. Your mana makes a prickling noise, almost like a Geiger counter, in his ears (not that Law knew what a Geiger counter was or could even comprehend the idea of nuclear waste). And continues to feel it, crackling in the back of his mind until there’s no one left in the shop. He’s well aware it’s yours, but he’s not sure about what. It’s been a week— the pattern you two have set out has worked thus far.
Or, he thinks it has. You don’t talk to him unless it’s absolutely necessary. But the anxiety says otherwise. And just when he’s about to start sweeping, he can feel a jolt of rather violent anxiety spiking— enough so that he sprints upstairs just to see you with your palms on the countertop, staring at a pile of neatly-sliced mushrooms on your drying rack. He can hear you mumbling, one of your hands clenched in a tighter fist than the other.
The mushrooms are dried now, or close to it, but you still seem frazzled. Eyes squeezed shut as you count your way down from fifty.
“Are you alright…?” Law stays at the top of the stairs, not wanting to get too close. Your hunched form leaning against the doorframe of your bathroom haunts him still.
“Fine.” You gasp out as if it’s painful to do so. “Perfect. Amazing. Stupendous. What are other synonyms, you were always better at the languages than I was,” you trail off, and he can see how labored your breathing is as you start to count down from sixty.
“...You don’t sound it,” Law speaks hesitantly. Weighing your symptoms in his mind, practiced eyes taking in your entire body. Anxiety attack. You need grounding, and fast. You’d never been good with more practiced methods– he recalls that much, or rather, has had those details committed to memory forever. So, he walks briskly to your side, pulls you to the kitchen sink as you briefly protest, only to plunge your hands into a stream of icy cold water. “Five seconds. Then I want you to go from cold to hot.”
“What—”
“Do you have any ice?” Law rustles through the cabinets, knowing that you had at least oneenchanted one to keep produce and meats fresh, and then another to keep things frozen, he just can’t recall which one it is.
“Yes— top right–”
You shriek when he pops an ice cube rather forcibly into your mouth, and the anxiety that had been trickling down his back pops, as though it never existed to begin with.
And then you cuff him in the ear while trying not to drop the ice cube from your open mouth.
“Law Water D. Trafalger—!” You screech, and he can’t help it. He starts to laugh, dodging your clumsy swipes at him, easily blocking them. This seems to enrage you even more. “What the hell were you thinking—!?”
“A way to stop your panic attack,” Law laughs, grinning so widely as you pause, as if you’re still processing what he’s said, before scowling at him. “C’mon, give me some credit. I’ve known what your panic attacks look like since we were kids.”
“You also once shoved a pill bug in Luffy’s nose when he was sleeping.” Your tone is so dry as you turn off the faucet and leave the ice cube in there to melt. “Shanks was pissed,”
“He bit me!”
“He was like, seven!”
“I didn’t bite when I was seven,” Law sulks, leaning against the counter. “I just watched my parents die.”
“.... By the gods above and below, you’re still such an ass,” You mumble, bracing yourself against the counter, turned away from him. But he can still see the little smile on your face. Good, he’s distracting you. Forcing you not to think about whatever had upset you so much.
The mushrooms catch his eye again. Lion’s Bane. He’d always needed more of that— it helped him to sleep when he’d first moved to the southern continent when the pain of the curse had really started to kick in. Before that, he’d spent most of his nights passing out from exhaustion when he finally couldn’t take it anymore, and asked Doflamingo if there was anything that could help him. Anything.
And, of course, there was. But it came with a price. Everything that was given to him came with a price: another tight wire coiled around his neck to keep him under control.
“Hey— these look good,” Law plucks one of the thin slices from the drying rack, carefully examining it. “You really have gotten better. With your earthen magic, I mean.”
The anxiety immediately comes back, and it nearly knocks Law over. Okay– one question answered, but now another presented itself to him. Why were you so anxious over the Lion’s Bane? These were perfect— he wasn’t joking about that. You were one of the best apothecaries he’d ever worked with. Yet your anxiety said otherwise. It was making him feel nauseous.
“No, they’re terrible,” You sound so certain. So utterly devastated. “I wasn’t as fast with drying them, which means they won’t be as effective when powdered.”
“That’s… a thing that happens?” Law puts the mushroom back down. “How much does it affect it?”
“It takes five and a half minutes longer to kick in,” You mumble, and he hates how tears are threatening to spill over onto your cheeks—
But he laughs. And you look utterly startled.
“Then they’re just fine for doctors,” Law does mean to, but he takes your hands. They’re clammy and shaky, and he worries about your circulation for a brief second before he snaps back into gear. “I promise. How many minutes do yours normally take to kick in?”
“Ten minutes,” you whisper, still with tears threatening to spill, “They’re gonna take fifteen and a half—” You stop speaking when you notice how baffled he looks. “What?”
“Your Lion’s Bane powder. It only takes fifteen and a half minutes?”
“Ten normally,” you pull your hands away from his and start to wring them nervously. “Why?”
“They take about forty minutes on average. From every other apothecary I’ve gotten them from. How— what are you doing to them? Whatever you’re doing to them, you’re making them so much more effective,” Law looks at one on the drying rack, then at you, and then back at the drying rack, snapping one up as he makes his way over to the couch. “Time me. I— I need to test this, this is remarkable if you’re right—“
“You shouldn’t eat an entire dried slice—“You make a grab for his hand, but he’s already dangling it above his mouth and drops it in, chewing and then swallowing quickly. He looks at you, and suddenly, you’re both fifteen and seventeen again. “Oh my fucking Gods, Law, I’m gonna kill you.”
“Are you timing it?” He grins at you, and you have half a mind to have Gertrude smack him in the back of the head or reach down his throat to pull it from his throat.
“What— no— I should be shoving charcoal down your throat right now—“
“Well, there goes the experiment!” Law slumps onto the couch. “Where are you even getting them from, I can already feel the effects— yes, slight blurriness around edges of my vision, slowed reaction time,” he adds when you pitch a pillow at him, and he doesn’t even dodge, letting it hit him square in the face, pulling it to his chest. “This is remarkable!”
“They’re just in the woods outside the city wall! It’s where my family’s been getting them from for centuries—“
“You need to show me.”
“Excuse me?”
“These could be…” he yawns and blinks sleepily, “…a huge breakthrough for… for chronic insomnia…”
Law is slumped against the wall before he can even finish his sentence, drooling onto his tunic as you watch him. There’s gentle shuffling behind you as Gertrude comes to set a leaf on your shoulder. You pat their leaf gently and plop down onto the opposite side of the couch, rubbing your forehead. Gertrude wordlessly starts to get you a glass of water while rifling through the cabinet to find the charcoal you’d mentioned when Law first ate the mushroom. “Thank you,” you mumble, taking the charcoal from the plant, along with a glass of water. The charcoal is already crushed, meant for emergencies with your customers. In this case, just for your idiot of a childhood friend and now husband. Law snores as you mix the powdered charcoal with the water and doesn’t even flinch as you pour it into his mouth, tilting up his throat and having him swallow, keeping his head tilted forward so he doesn’t choke. It’ll be a bit late to help him wake up, but you just sigh, leaning back against the couch. Gertrude brings you a cup of milk tea, gently patting your head with one of their leaves before going back to being nestled around the top of the cabinets.
Your eyes close softly after you finish the cup of tea, still caked in mud from your four-hour hike through the woods to get to the lion’s bane.
When you wake up, Law is looming over you. You do the natural thing and scream, kicking him immediately in the place you’ve learned is the weakness of most men, regardless of if they were born as one or not. You kick him straight in the balls, watching as he topples nearly instantly, clutching his groin while holding in several groans as he bites his lower lip.
Gertrude is laughing, the little shit. They’re laughing, and you’ve just kicked Law in a very sensitive area. Rustling their leaves from the top of the cabinets until you shoot them a stern glare.
“G’mornin,” Law’s voice is several pitches higher. Still holding his crotch and looking at you with a very shocked expression. “That hurt.”
“Why were you hovering over me,” you steady your breathing. You still have your leg outstretched to kick. Your hands brace on the couch. “Like a fucking weirdo?”
“You’re getting mud on the couch.”
Your eye twitches. And you stand, even when you want to sit back down and rub mud into the fabric just to spite him. But you know you’ll be more upset in the end if you do end up doing that. The mud feels so wrong against your skin when you’re in your casual wear. It would stick to your skin all day, even if you’d washed it away.
“It’s my couch.”
“Our couch.”
“Fuck off, you literally ruined my day yesterday,” Your voice is venomous, and he seems shocked by the anger.
“How?”
“You— ugh— you wouldn’t get it,”
Because he probably wouldn’t. You’d tried to talk to your parents about it, especially when they still worked with you. You liked things done a certain way. There was always a proper way to do things and a certain place to do it all. When trying to tell your mother that, while she was turning the orange roots of a fire bush into a paste, she just quirked an eyebrow at you and told you, albeit lovingly, to get over yourself and that any place in the shop was the right place to work, so long as it was clean. She didn’t understand that while it may be that way for her, you liked your rhythms. The specificity. It had taken years to develop these routines and patterns for harvesting and processing all of your medicines. Along with finding the perfect materials to label and write your detailed notes.
Kizaru had somewhat understood. But he also was in a very different profession than yours. Yet he understood nonetheless.
“Why not?”
Why not? Because he would likely tell you to get over it like your mother had and would make you work out of your comfort zone. Sometimes, it helped. Other times, it made it worse. She hadn’t meant anything by it. She just didn’t understand.
“Because— because I’m weird about my shit, and I don’t like it when people use it,” You blurt out, “Like my paper! That paper is resistant to most degrading compounds, so it’s safe to not only label but use as a packaging thing, and I really, really hate when people sit in my stool because it’s my stool and—“
“Calm.” You feel a wave of ease roll over you, with Law pressing his thumb to the center of your forehead.
You feel like the world is moving much slower. Or your brain is. The prickling under your skin is gone. “I do actually understand that,” Law says, pulling his hand away from your forehead and kneeling so he can look you in the eyes. His hands are warm, cupping your face, making sure you’re looking at him. “And I’m sorry I invaded your space like that. You’d been gone for two hours already, so I figured it would be alright if I opened my clinic down there.” “It takes me five hours to get the lion’s bane, and then I dry it downstairs. That’s how I’ve always done it.”
He hates how tired you look. How soft your voice is. He knows exactly why you’re like this, too. You’d always had… peculiarities about doing things your way. It’d make you cry if you couldn’t do them the way you’d always wanted to do them, sending you into a quivering mess. Your mother had accidentally triggered one of these when she’d been drying out thunder root and had nearly panicked when you couldn’t voice why you were so upset.
“I didn’t know. But I won’t do it there, or at that time, again. Okay?” Law pulls his hands away, and he thinks he’s imagined the way you almost chase after his touch. “... do you normally panic when things like that happen? It… hasn’t changed?” “Yeah,” you pull your knees to your chest. “I think. It’s just been piling on. All the stuff from the past three weeks.” Law nods, rocking back on his heels.
Just the two of you. Law on the floor, you on the couch, both of you with your knees to your chests, looking at each other. It’s painfully familiar and foreign at the same time.
“...I never apologized. For….” “Don’t,” Your voice quivers. The fight and anger are gone. You just sound defeated. And he can feel the weight of the sorrow on his soul as you tuck your head into your arms, hiding away your face. “Please.”
The sorrow gives way to fear. Of the wetness of mud caked on your skin, slinging to your hair and eyelashes. How it weighed down your clothes, your skin, your hair. How cold you’d felt as you trudged back to your home.
You hate mud. Yet you’re still in the mud-caked clothes from your hike to forage for mushrooms yesterday. “Alright.” Law chokes, unable to handle just how heavy everything feels from your side of the bond, “Alright.”
You don’t know how to feel when there is an unfamiliar twinge of guilt and longing that is not your own. The door down the hall shuts as Law shelters himself away in his room. And you just cry into your arms, your tears turning the dried dirt on your sleeves to mud again.
