Hi, welcome back to Tumblr! Your Trigdasleng posts back in the day were fascinating, even though I never watched the show they're from. Keep on keepin' on.

Thank you! It's good to be back, and this is as good a place as any to talk about why I'm here and what I'm doing.

First, I left Tumblr when many others did when they instituted their infamous "female-presenting nipple" policy. It's not as if my Tumblr was ever a nsfw blog, or as if I had any female-presenting nipples, but I felt it was the wrong response to the difficult situation they'd been put in. It was something that hurt a lot of people who had a lot less of a voice and not much of a platform, and so I felt it was my responsibility to use the platform I had to take a stand, even if ultimately it didn't change anything.

As it happens, years later, Tumblr has finally reversed the policy (well done, @staff!). Tumblr may not be the wild west it used to be, but at least they aren't targeting anyone presenting a specific gender unfairly. I've missed my time away, and the people I got to know here, so I'm happy to be back!

As I see it, I'll probably be reblogging stuff less here, even though that's how I made my name way back when, and instead responding mostly to asks in my inbox.

To give myself a fresh start, I have deleted all 3,999 of my asks. I'm starting fresh—with this one, which was the first! My inbox got too overwhelming, so this was needed.

To answer some questions some may have, if you haven't followed me elsewhere recently:

I'm most active on Instagram, where I am @athdavrazar.

I have a YouTube series with partner and significant other Jessie Sams, who is @quothalinguist on Instagram. That series is called LangTime Studio, and we create a language from scratch together live on camera (we work on two hours a week every Thursday at 2 p.m. Pacific).

Jessie and I work together almost exclusively now, and we've done work on Freeform's Motherland: Fort Salem (which I hope you loved, Tumblr!), Peacock's Vampire Academy, the second season of Shadow and Bone (forthcoming), Amazon's Paper Girls (though you can blink and miss our stuff), and the second Dune film.

I worked on HBO's House of the Dragon, and got to create a writing system for High Valyrian, which I'm very excited about.

I created the Sangheili language for Paramount+'s Halo with Carl Buck, who is on Instagram as @tlacamazatl (he's on Tumblr as @tlacamazatl too!). We are presently working on season 2.

I worked with Christian Thalmann on Shadow and Bone seasons 1 and 2. The breakdown is this: Christian and I jointly created the Fjerdan language; I created the Ravkan language and orthography as well as the Kerch and Zemeni orthographies exclusively; Jessie Sams and I created the Shu and Zemeni languages jointly; Christian created the Shu orthography. I can't wait for you to hear and see our work in season 2!

Yes, I left Twitter (quite a bit ago). I'm now more active on Discord, where I'm on a few servers.

I created a wiki for all my languages, and am unevenly working on all of them, and some languages have a team of people working on them (in particular High Valyrian).

Despite being double-vaxxed and getting not one, not two, but three boosters, I got Covid in June, and that PoS hasn't completely left me alone since. (Note: I'd only had one booster before I got it; two have come since then, including the new one, which will hopefully be the last!)

I am traveling again, so I hope to announce those here when they happen.

As much as I hate to say it and make it official, this blog's hiatus is going to be indefinite.

I love Negan to death and I miss writing him so much, but truth is I'm having a hard time finding the motivation or muse to be here. While some lovely people are still here, so many who helped make this blog what it is and who I built my most cherished memories with here are gone, and my more recent attempts to find new blogs to follow or interact with haven't gone well, so looking at this account, more often than not, just leaves me feeling sad and frustrated and longing for earlier times. And as much as I love TWD, the fandom just isn't appealing to interact with much anymore, and hasn't been for a while.

This blog isn't being archived or deactivated. The queue is still ongoing, and has enough in it to last nearly two years, so the images and gifs will continue posting for quite some time. I still have things in my likes that I plan to reblog. Any memes or threads I had, are still in my drafts (though I may delete some threads, I don't know, they are years old anyway.)

When or if the inspiration strikes, I will absolutely pop in to write or even just talk about Negan or send some memes. But activity from here on out will be extremely low, indefinitely. This has been eating away at me for a while, the idea of losing this muse or RP has a hobby (I've been having a really hard time with all creative hobbies for a long time now) has had me grieving in a weird way, so I'm just finally biting the bullet here.

I'm still very active on tumblr elsewhere and still have notifications/emails on, so if you send an ask or message me or anything, I'll see it and reply when I can. I do have two other RP blogs, one that's low activity like this one and another still under construction while I debate if I want to go through with it or not, but they're both anime muses so I'm not sure if I'll ever link to them here. From what I've seen, most people in this fandom don't interact with animated muses so I'll save myself the embarrassment lol.

That all said: thank you everyone who has stuck around and continues to enjoy and interact with this blog in any way, even if it's just to like or reblog pics of Negan and JDM. I hope you're all doing well. I'll be around when I'm around. <3

just binged the whole of archive 81 and kinda sad to find out the last few episodes (Left of the Dial) which was meant to bridge seasons 3 and 4, came out in 2019 and nothing's been released on the feed since.

looking around online, there was rumblings of them releasing a new podcast called Wavelength that got reported on a bit when the bad Netflix adaptation came out, but that was over a year ago now.

Wavelength's official Twitter hasn't had any activity since the 8th of February 2022, where it apologised that the trailer would have to be delayed.

on December 13th, 2022, Archive 81's Twitter feed retweeted something that Marc Sollinger had posted to 'spread the word', but Marc's account has been deleted so it's impossible to tell what that was about. weirdly, there's a comment underneath from December 14th implying Marc's account was already deleted only a day later, so whatever the announcement was it didn't stay up long. judging by another tweet from December 10th also linking to Marc's deactivated account it may have been about getting funding for some project, which is odd considering their Patreon is still up and seemingly hasn't updated since May 2019.

the Facebook for Archive 81 hasn't updated since 2022 when they posted the trailer for the Netflix Adaptation, and the one for the Deep Vault last posted in June 2019. one of the last posts on A81's Facebook talks about the show and reassures fans that it "will NOT impact the production of the podcast" as they "still have complete creative control of that".

even Archive 81's tumblr stopped reblogging fanart and updates in February 2021.

so, uh, yeah… anyone got any idea what's going on with Dead Signals? at this point i'm just kinda concerned something bad happened to one of the creators, especially Marc given that Dan's Twitter is still active and posts semi-frequently. am i just missing some announcement somewhere?

so far? honestly i really love as far away (as saturn)., this series has a really special place in my heart because exploring a soulmate au was really fun. i got to explore a lot of the platonic dynamics of the party in the first one, and really get into mike's head and his thoughts about will in the second. i love it a lot!!

10. Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

hmm, i'm not sure, honestly. i got (what felt like) a lot of feedback from a star wars drabble i wrote last year, and since i wasn't really active in the star wars fandom at the time and it was such a short fic i was really happy that a lot of people enjoyed it!

A Writer's Introduction?

Hi! I'm the vampire behind this blog! I guess you can call me Vampy. Vamp. or Jack. That's generic enough. doesn't want to disclose their name

I turned 20 last year, and since then I've finished the very first draft of some stories, and achieved a NaNoWriMo. So uh my confidence as a writer has significantly grown fldksjflk

I like time travel, fucked up stuff, and found-family. Oh and Magic. Like. It doesn't necessarily play a Huge Role, but I usually put some magic in my stories just Because I Can. I like it. It helps with my Escapism I guess.

I've got more "WIP"s than I'm willing to count, but here are the... main important ones at the moment, aka those I want to work on in 2023:

Dreaming of You: "What if dreams were a window onto another reality? What if someone dreamt often enough of another reality to fall in love with their lover from that other reality? What if that person also existed in their reality?" In which Tobey is a non-binary literature student, and August is a transmasc astrophysics teacher :) There's also their best friends, Beth and June, who're just Cool. I love them.

That Magic World: (working title) Either a saga or a novel in 5 parts fldskjflkj I tried writing the first part during NaNoWriMo, and while I got a nice start (some 10K words), I did not get to touch the end. It's all set in semi-magical countries (as of now named Norick Land and Kwernland). The first part is about a war, and a prophecy, and people just trying to save their peoples, and unwilling Chosen Ones, child heroes figuring out who they are along the way. Then 5 years later we've got Part 2, Patchwork Family, which is about the older Chosen One, David, who's just trying to be a good Dad and have a Happy Family. Part 3 (in need of a title) is about the younger Chosen One, Rory, who... disappeared. And the grief that comes with it. And people moving on, with time. Part 4, Will and Charlie, is about the two 'unknown chosen ones' (they didn't realise they were part of the prophecy when they helped it be realised), William and Charlie. William's fucked up his potion, and now he's a child again, Charlie offers to look after him until an antidote is found, even though the two cannot stand each other. And then, when the antidote is found, William doesn't even want to be an adult again. Part 5, My Best Friend's Dad, is the one in which we discover Rory is not as dead as we thought :) And he's had a nice time with his best friend's mother in the past :)

Past Rewritten: Despite the age gap, A and B were a very happy couple, about to get married. That was until A travelled 40 years back in time and altered the timeline. When A got back to their present, they quickly realised it was not their present any longer, and B was not their soon to be husband, but their father. (I might put this story in the same universe as the previous wip just to recycle the world building, but it's not connected at all. for now)

Sweet dreams, sweetheart (sd sh): I don't exactly know where this story is going, because it's very much inspired from a real story but I don't want it to be... that story. For now, it's the diary of a person who is trying to make sense out of their relationship with their most recent new friend. It was love at first sight, they proposed to each other, they give each other pet names, but it's all absolutely platonic, and the proposal was a joke anyway. Unless.... Ahahah, just joking! Or...? (or: when your life sounds like a very good romcom but definitely isn't but damn it could be so you just write it) (this one hasn't got any magic at all!)

I'm not super active on Tumblr (and I reblog more than I post), but I'd like to be a bit more active, share more stuff, and participate more in events and all. I've been struggling to do a WIP's intro, or OCs intro, but I'd like to talk more about them in some way or another, still. :D

17. why i chose my url?: When I watched the first season of The White Lotus I fell in love with Armond (Murray Bartlett's character) and the [SPOILER] tragic trainwreck of sorts that he goes throughout the season [END OF SPOILER]. The whole introductory scene to Armond and The White Lotus resort has him telling Lani, a new trainee, that the White Lotus experience is nothing more than “tropical Kabuki,” with the staff serving as “pleasant interchangeable players”. I thought it was brilliant and so funny and for some reason my immediate thought was that it would make for a great social media username. So that's exactly what I used it for a few days later, when I was picking a url for this blog. I've ended up using it in a couple other places, too.

Last Legacy has been a massive fixation of mine over the last two years or so. It's helped me be a little more outgoing (Hell this blog is proof enough of that) and make some amazing friends, as well as given me a great outlet for writing! So;

I will not be leaving the LL fandom. No matter what happens to the app or the company, the story means a lot to me and to all of us. I'm not just gonna let that die. Frankly I'm not even sure I could if I wanted to lol. I'll still be writing my posts and your requests for as long as I continue getting them/having ideas (I might write a bit for some other fandoms too but that's something I wanted to start doing anyways)! So quit talking like I'm already dead lol. You're all stuck with me.

I might start posting a bit about my OCs (mostly as ask games or asks in general because I cannot draw for the life of me but maybe with some excerpts I particularly like or whatever) because Fuck It, Why Not y'know? I probably won't do much because I don't wanna annoy anyone but a couple here and there should be fine

I will be starting to regularly (probably every couple of days or something? Not sure yet I've got to figure out how the hell queue actually works) post some LL incorrect quotes! The only blogs I could find that seemed to regularly post those hasn't been active in like six months so I don't think I'll be stepping on anyone's toes.

Now is the time to reblog and interact with content that you like!! I don't mean just for my blog but for anything you come across!! It's one of the best ways to keep the fandom going. Also it's a good rule in general but I'm staying on topic here.

Also yesterday I watched a couple episodes of the Alex Rider series which was surprisingly good (I found the books mediochre which might be because I was already an adult when I read them and I thought the Stormbreaker movie was quite bad but the series actually does a good job getting across how much Alex'd prefer to have a normal life while still making his choices believable and I also like that they included Tom early on because Alex needs friends)

just finished Horizon Zero Dawn. Took me about 160 hours because I kept getting distracted from the main quest by all the sidequests, and then I kept getting distracted from the sidequests by all the possibilities just roaming the world and hunting both machines and animals. Somehow though I still have many missing textdatapoints to find and a handful of other data - maybe I'll look them up and collect them at some point, I'd definitely be interested in reading even more stuff. 1. favorite song at the moment: Probably "Hauch mich mal an" by Das Lumpenpack I don't listen to music a lot, but I like this song enough to have bought the entire album "Eine herbe Enttäuschung", which contrary to the title is absolutely not a bitter disappointment. It's all thanks to @famburasch-sohn-des-partram sharing a link to their concert stream at the very beginning of the pandemic :D

2. a song you associate with your favorite ship: Not a shipper, not very into music, so I have no answer to this.

3. a song that could be about you: "Sunshine" by Cosmo Jarvis (it hasn't even been warm for that long this year but I'm already sick of it - thankfully today it rained when I rode my bike back home so I could cool off a little)

4. a song you think is overrated: I honestly can't think of one, because when I'm not actively interested in the music that's playing it pretty much just goes in one ear and leaves out the other without leaving a lasting impression.

5. a song that reminds you of a good memory: "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum - they're my uncles favourite band and when they performed near where my mum lives he invited us to go

6. the last song you listened to: "Gay Pirates" by Cosmo Jarvis - one of the songs that are pretty much always in my playlist, because so far I've never felt like I wanted to skip it, when it came on. This one @pneu-monie recommended to me ages ago and I've since bought several of Cosmo Jarvis' albums.

7. a song that makes you laugh: "The Hotdog Man" by Tripod (or pretty much any of their other songs), "Prejudice" by Tim Minchin, "Malcolm" by The Arrogant Worms (and several other songs), "Der Pinguin" by Die Blutjungs (and also many more) - there's probably more because I like comedic music, but I'm gonna stop myself there xD

JUST FINISHED HZD ON ULTRA HARD

and holy shit that endfight was TOUGH! When I started playing the story I checked multiple times whether I had actually chosen ultra hard because thanks to New Game + I already had all the weapons and the highest Level, so it was pretty easy most of the time. I did die here and there along the way, but that was usually due to not paying that much attention to the healthbar (because the machines weren't that much harder to kill, I kinda forgot that they were much stronger so getting hit by them was much worse for Aloy) and one time because I'd forgotten that I wasn't doing the cauldrons and therefore obviously couldn't override all the machines xD.

I'd stocked up on ammo and some healing items but was still woefully underprepared for the final fight on my first try. Maybe it's simply because both the fight against Helis and the one on the Spire happen in such cramped spaces and stealth is absolutely no option. Died so many times in both parts and even got a Game Over for running out of time on the Spire once. I didn't have a problem with the middle bit where you repeatedly shoot Petra's experimental weapon at waves of approaching machines though.

Anyway so after I got checkpointed on the Spire without any health items left and getting more and more frustrated I aborted the mission and spent a bunch more hours hunting boars and other game. Also bought some Adept weapons (only to find out that the Adept Sharpshot Bow isn't as good as the Banuk Powershot, so I didn't even need it - didn't want to go to the Cut to get the Adept Powershot though) which helped a bit. The Adept Blast Sling did considerably more damage than the normal one, the Adept Tripcaster is great in theory but I never got the time to use it in the heat of battle.

On my second try the bit with Helis felt even tougher than the first time around, but after many tries I made it through again. The bit after that felt harder than on my first try as well, but I did make it without dying. And then the Spire. Died again and again and again because of all the chaos, felt like I came pretty close a couple of times but died again. Then FINALLY managed to get the Deathbringer's health down enough to explode one of its guns and got excited in a sort of pessimistic way xD - at that point I had a small handful of the smaller healing potions left and a tiny amount of herbs - I did my best to avoid the attacks, managed to actually chug some small potions when necessary and then blew up the Deathbringer's other gun. There were 46 seconds left on the clock, my heart was racing and my hands were shaking slightly. I only had like two herbs worth of healing power left, but I managed to chuck a few more bombs at the Deathbringer and it collapsed. Didn't even believe it at first because I must have tried to get to that point about 30 or 40 times by then.

Anyway, great game, would recommend, but if - like me - you're more in it for the story, I'd say play on normal or even easy difficulty, because ultra hard mode may be bad for your blood pressure XD

6. why did you choose your icon? I love this cover by Jock, so I use it as an icon just about everywhere (it's also the background for my phone keyboard, my phone and tablet and chromebook screens, and I have a mousepad with this artwork, lol)

7. why did you choose your header? It went with the Jock Nightwing icon; it's all Jock art, but has him as Batman and Agent 37, flying. I swear, if I ever get the chance, I will commission Jock to make art of Dick as Robin, to match, because I need that badly...

15. how do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts? it's usually the quickest way to get me to scroll right past something; I don't appreciate the emotional blackmail. tumblr is supposed to be my fun downtime; if I reblog something that[s more serious and real worldy, it's because I have the spoons to handle it that day, or really want to because I want to share it.

16. do you like tag games? I do. but I don't usually get to them right away because of not being able to copy more than a paragraph at a time on tumblr mobile on my phone, so I have to remember to get on my chromebook to do them, lol

i'm beth & wowwew have i been in this shit for a couple years. i doubt anyone remembers me but i was hunnycollarbones or smth like that on here & on twitter, abt this time last year (i had a sailor moon icon then, but my theme was pink instead of green lmfao). i've been struggling w this kind of thing for like??? 4 years now????? idek. in retrospect that isn't that long but whatever. what i'm basically trying to say i'm not new by any means, but it's been a really long time since i've been active!

i've tried to recover on my own a few times, & it hasn't worked yet. this last time i really thought it was gonna happen, i had even opened up to some of my friends & i planned to tell the doctor, but idk. i don't even know what happened, but i relapsed harrddddd.

I've just read your fic Your True Name Is on FF and Ao3. Then I noticed it hasn't been updated since 2017. PLEASE TELL ME IT'S NOT DISCONTINUED!!! IT'S TOO AWESOME!!

Okay, so... this is gonna be awkward to reply to because just a few posts down this is my announcement that I ain’t giving up. XD

However! You’re right, it’s been 3 years since the last update and jesus christ has it really been 3 years??? I’ve just been quietly watching this fic gather more and more hopeful readers and not even reply to any messages so I could surprise you all, but I don’t think I can go on any longer and not say something concrete just to be real with you.

Okay, so the bottom line is that the status of “Your True Name Is” is... uncertain.

Very uncertain. 

Very very uncertain because I am still writing Chapter 3 UUUUUUUUGH

I’m not gonna bore you with all the details of the past three (three!!!) years. Basically, ever since I started with my thesis, I haven’t been keeping up with BNHA’s manga or anime at all. You’ll notice it on my list of published fanfics; I even started another multi-chaptered fic for another fandom—one that gripped me for months during my last two years in college and eventually became the center point of my own undergraduate thesis. XD

After graduating, I pretty much delved into other hobbies and fandoms for a year. Even once I finally got hired, I didn’t get to come back to BNHA at all (psst I got into the MXTX novels’ fandoms for a full half-year just reading all the good fics). So at the moment, I am very disconnected from the fandom and the current story indeed. I wasn’t even here when the NSFW ban happened...

I wouldn’t mind having a long refresher course of watching the anime in order to continue Chapter 3, but at the moment, I’m not feeling the passion to do so. That’s what’s always so hard about writing for me, especially with multi-chaptered fanfics: once I lose my groove, it can be highly difficult to just sit down and write. This is why I am now actually gravitating towards creating one-shots instead—that, or just keeping WIPs to myself first until I’m actually nearing the end of the story.

This is currently my situation: I’m busy with work (9 hours every day, from Monday to Saturday, thank god for weekends) but the rest of my free time is mostly dedicated to my hobbies. I am not actively writing fanfics at the moment—my hobbies tend to circulate and I hyper-fixate on them for months at a time, so one moment, I’m into reading manga, and the next, I’m playing a game for several days. You may have seen that my Liked posts section is hella active—yep, during these three years, I got into playing Food Fantasy, watched a few anime shows, and all that.

I just didn’t fully come back to Tumblr and start reblogging stuff because it felt awkward to be active here when I’m not even posting a new chapter, and still keeping you guys very frustrated with the cliffhanger. XDDD

Half of the numerous things I’ve planned for this, I’ve never even jotted down. I had no clear goal of how each chapter would go unless I was ready to write them... Not a good habit...

Yep, to any readers of my KnB highschool AU fic, I’ve finally confirmed it. Not even sure if you’re actively waiting for the next chapter (because jesus this one stopped at 2016!), but I don’t know what to do with it anymore and I’m actually working on other fics for that fandom (still multi-chaptered but focuses on one ship each instead so it doesn’t get convoluted). For my BNHA fic, I still do want to continue because I haven’t forgotten how much I’ve enjoyed crafting the Secret Child AU. However, expect now that updates for it will really be few and far between. :(

Shoutout to some people who’ve sent me non-anon messages but I don’t think I got around to answering them: @jaysfandomcorner, @kateitron, and also a shoutout to @theywaitforshewho, who was the first to admit that yes, my fanfic is probably dead—but also proceeded to recc it to their list of cool BNHA fics. XDDDDDDD Sorry, my friend, for not replying. Wanted to surprise y’all with an update but... well.

Okay, that’s all I can say for now. After this post, you may see me reblog some overdue stuff and reply to some other asks not related to YTNI. For real tho, guys, you have no idea how much it gladdens my heart to see you so excited and amazed at what I wrote. “Your True Name Is” is my most popular work in both AO3 and FFNet—and all because I tried writing the one AU we have always been waiting for. Every now and then, I see notifs about people liking and favoriting it. I will try my best to get back into its groove!
