I love the apocalypse genre, not for the gore and stuff but for the little details and stuff, especially in games

Like you get to collect a bunch of stuff, weapons, food, scraps, first aid kits, things like that

I love looking at rundown and broken abandoned buildings, overgrown and covered in vines and moss, like it's being taken back by nature

I like the fact that there are multiple roles people can play, there's a huge list of roles you can be and each of them is important

I want to be able to write, draw, or play with these things and it's so upsetting that there aren't that many games I find that satisfy me with this

Most of them focus on the fighting, which makes sense since it's the apocalypse, you gotta kill a few things to survive, but I also want an equal focus on the other stuff, searching for food in a store that looked like it just got robbed and blown up, looking for scraps in broken vehicles, turning a building into shelter whether it's just one or few of the floors or the whole building, finding other survivors and offer them a place to stay and some equipment or get them to join your group

I want these things, I NEED these things, and it's so so disappointing that I never can find one

At the very least, I want to find people who like the same things as I do and we can do something about it. Discuss it with each other, roleplay, play games that are close enough to what we want, all that

[500 Followers Milestone Event - "Romance"]

A/N: I WAS SO EXCITED TO WRITE THIS ONE HEHEHE!! I mean, cahem, I do feel you, anon, because they're also one of my favorite pairings. I toyed a little with the theme, using an old HC of mine that was collecting dust for way too long and I hope it is okay and that you like it <3

Summary: There is something wrong with Cyno, but Tighnari can't find out what is it. Little did he know, he was the one making the general upset ~

Tighnari could tell that there was something wrong. He didn’t realize it sooner thanks to Kaveh and Alhaitham bickering with each other during their hangout, but there was definitely something off.

Cyno was usually the clingy type, especially when they were by themselves. However, after he had suddenly gone quiet during the meeting, he had only spoken if he was talked to, avoiding and ignoring any kind of interaction - even the ones from Tighnari.

That was weird, really weird, Tighnari thought as he made the way back to his house, always checking over his shoulder to see how the general following him was doing. Catching glimpses of a frown on Cyno’s face, the first hypothesis to pop on his mind was that, for some reason, he was annoyed. But why? They were meeting their friends, having fun, enjoying a meal together… what was there to be angry at?!

The second theory was that Alhaitham or Kaveh could have struck a nerve while teasing him, but as far as Tighnari could remember, Cyno’s fighting skills or obsession for TCG were not one of the topics that night. Even if they were, he would usually get angry for a few moments and brush it off seconds later. As unlikely as it was, it was too early to discard this idea yet.

Last, but not least, could it be Tighnari’s doing? Stopping in front of his house, the fennec thought about it for a minute. Did he end up ignoring one of his attempts to flirt with him in public? Maybe he was too harsh on him during the dinner? But he couldn’t recall saying anything that would make Cyno so upset and-

“Nari,” Cyno spoke in an uninterested tone, letting out a small sigh, “what’s wrong? Just open the door.”

“A-ah, right, my apologies…” The botanist said, quickly picking up the keys in his pockets. 

After turning the key around and pushing the door open, Tighnari was struck with another thought: why was he even nervous?! Feeling such a thing towards Cyno filled the fennec’s mind with nostalgia, memories of when they both were studying in the Akademiya and he used to see the general as that serious and cold-hearted guy. 

But that was in the past. And there was no need to fear talking to him directly. Right, after all, they were dating for a long time already. You got this, Tighnari, he told himself as he stepped inside his house, waiting for Cyno to do the same before gently closing the door.

Taking a deep breath, he clenched his hands into a fist. “Cyno, what’s wrong? You’ve been quiet all ni-” 

“Hah..?” The general sighed, the annoyance clear in his voice. Tighnari froze on the spot, feeling a shiver run down his spine. He could feel Cyno’s glare piercing through his body as if he was next in the line to face the judgment of the Gods. “‘What’s wrong’, Nari? Would you like to make a guess?”

Slowly walking forward, as a hound circling its prey, Cyno decreased the distance between him and his partner. Tighnari’s tail curled and trembled behind him as he stepped back, clearly not expecting this outcome after his question.

“A-ahm…  because you… lost a round of T-TCG?”

“Wrong,” Cyno muttered, trapping Tighnari against the door they had just walked through. The general slammed his hand on the wooden surface, making the fennec gasp in surprise. “It’s because of you.”

“M-Me?! B-but I didn’t-” before he could finish, Cyno held out a finger in front of his lips, stopping him in the middle of his words.

“Shh… I’m not done talking, Nari,” the general lowered his hands, sliding them down the other’s shoulders, all the way down to his wrists. Tighnari could feel the firm grip, but decided to only watch as Cyno pinned his hands against the  wooden surface behind him. “You think I’d just sit and do nothing about it, huh?”

The botanist shuddered, scrunching up his shoulders as he pressed his eyes close. Cyno was speaking merely inches away from his face, treating him like some kind of criminal and, yet, he couldn’t find out what he did to make his partner so angry at him.

“What are you tal- ahm, I mean… what did I do, Cyno?” He replied sheepishly, scared to enrage the general even more.

The other clicked his tongue, shaking his head in disapproval. “You think this is funny, right?”

“N-no, I jus-”

“Just like you thought Kaveh’s jokes were funny.”

“...what?”

Changing his grip, Cyno managed to pin both of his partner’s wrists with one hand, keeping them out of the scene as he furrowed his brows. “You ignore and scold me when I tell them, but you go around laughing at others’ jokes… you are the worst sometimes, you know that?”

Tighnari blinked a few times, trying to process the whole thing. Was he for real?

“You… are jealous becaHAH- C-CynohOH!” Before he could talk back to the general, a whole set of fingers dug into his ribs, flooding his brain with the ticklish feeling that ran across his body as electric shocks. “W-wahAHAit!! AhAHAH, nahAHAhah!!”

“No, I’m not jealous, Nari. I’m angry at how… inconsiderate you were with my feelings,” Cyno muttered, his voice still full of annoyance as he tweaked his fingers against Tighnari’s body, going up to his underarms and then all the way down to his waist, only to start over again.

“I-I wahAHAh- plehHEHeahAhase!!” The fennec begged, letting out a high-pitched squeal. His hands trembled and his knees were about to give in as he convulsed with laughter, desperately trying to escape the wrath of his jealous boyfriend. “I-I didn’t mehehEHEhean to! It caHAhaught me o-ohOHOff guard!!”

The general remained silent, using his free hand to look for any other sensitive spot to exploit as he continued to deliver his “punishment”. Deciding to let out a little more steam to ease his annoyance, Cyno curled his fingers and used his nails to scratch at Tighnari’s sides like a kitten sharpening its claws. 

“You naughty fox… do you think you go around, laughing at other men’s jokes like that, hm?” The general whispered into one of his ears, letting the warm air do the job as his hands continued to work restlessly.

If the tickling wasn’t enough to make Tighnari blush, those words surely did the job. His ears twitched with each word spoken, sending an awful shiver down his back. It was the kind of thing that would make his heart melt, that, of course, if it wasn’t for the merciless tickling assaulting his torso.

“A-ahAHah, p-plehehase!” Tighnari gasped, gritting his teeth in a crooked smile as he tried to resist the tickling, sucking his stomach in and leaning his body away as much as he could to avoid Cyno’s fingers. “I-i’m sohOHOhorry, o-okahahay?!”

“No,” Cyno whispered calmly, letting out a small chuckle before planting a gentle kiss on Tighnari’s ear, “it’s not okay, Na-ri ~”

Sneaking his hand through the layers of cloth covering his partner, Cyno finally managed to touch Tighnari’s skin. Just like he expected, that simple doing was enough to evoke a new level of reactions from his partner, amusing himself with how easy it was to fill the room with the fennec’s laughter.

Literally laughing his head off, the forest watcher squirmed as much as he could inside Cyno’s hold. “I-it’s too muhuhuch!! CynoHOHoh!! I cahAHAhan’t anymohOHOre!!” He continued to squeal in mirth, unable to resist the touch of Cyno’s fingers against his bare middle.

“Now, I just want to remind you, Nari,” he continued to whisper, not even sure if his voice could be heard through all that laughter, “you are my boyfriend, which means I am the only one who gets to hear you laughing like this. Got it?”

“Y-YEHehehes! A-AhaAHAHarchons, j-just stoHOHOp!!”

Hearing the words he wanted to and sensing Tighnari was reaching his limit, Cyno smiled, giving his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek as he moved his hand away. Still holding his wrists together, the general gently pushed a few strands of hair away from Tighnari’s blushing face, smiling at him. “Good thing you are a quick learner, Nari ~”

“S-shut up, you big lummox,” Tighnari hissed, making Cyno giggle as he managed to shake his hands free from his grip. “Aren’t you a little too old to be having jealousy attacks?”

“I was not jealous,” Cyno insisted as Tighnari walked past him, now taking his turn to act upset at his partner, “I just don’t like to share my Nari, that’s all…” He muttered, just loud enough so Tighnari could hear him, making the forest watcher’s tail wag as soon as those words reached him. The general smiled.

“You are the worst sometimes,” Tighnari snapped, but Cyno only laughed at his comment.

“Love you too, Nari.”

First off, I just want to apologize on behalf of the Blood Mistress collective that you were fated to this coven. 

You were born in this land and grew up with tales of the supernatural as well as, lived with them side by side with them. But you were still shocked to be a fabled Blood Mistress. There are covens that human girls giggle about and hope if they are to a Blood Mistress it would be to them. 

But the coven you were eventually assigned to….was not one of them. Everyone knows that those sired by one of the powerful seven Vampire Lords of this land, the Vampire Lord of Snezhnaya were a bit….unique. It's well documented that even other covens tend to stay away from the covens under this vampire lord. 

And with good reason… 

Dottore 

It’s not the fact that he’s a vampire that is troubling. It’s the fact that he’s a mad doctor. No one quite knows if he was turned from a human or if he was born a vampire. Those who tried to find out, usually ended up on his cold, metal table. 

Conducting experiments was his favorite pastime. Humans or the supernatural, they all ended up on his table if they were unfortunate enough to catch his eye.  

You think you are safe because you are a Blood Mistress, right? Oh, that's so cute…

You won't be killed, that much is certain, but he will “lovingly” conduct experiments on you. Not to worry, he will keep you on this side of the living, barely. He doesn’t want to kill you but please scream for him. He’s quite taken with the sound of your screams. They are the most beautiful sound he has ever heard. Far better than his previous experiments. They have an added nuance that others did not have. 

But what made you more special than those that ended up dead on his table, was the fact that he craved your blood. If he killed you, then your blood would be of no use to him. He wasn’t kind when he took your blood, even that was much like his experiments.

And since he can split himself into various segments, sometimes, you had more than one version of himself wanting your blood at a given time. These were times that, if he found himself losing control, you’d be skating between the line of life and death…

But don't worry, the others in your coven will keep him from going too far…

…well, you have died yet. So that's something…

 Pantalone

He was born a vampire and serves under the Vampire Lord Tsaritsa.  His smile was cold as it was fake. There wasn’t any warmth or sincerity in his smile at you. 

He’d find you almost on death’s door from Dottore and take you into his arms, holding you close: ‘There, there, my dear’, he'd crooned, ‘You have nothing to fear from that mad doctor. I am here. Let’s get you cleaned up, hm?’ 

If you are the type whose heart is swayed by material things, then congratulations, his presence is a boon in the world you were thrush into to. Whatever you desired, he could get it for you. Whatever the price tag, it did not matter. 

Except….it did come with a price: 

…You are his doll. 

One of made in the image of whatever he desired. Did he chastise Dottore because he cared about the excessive marks that mad doctor left on your body, or because his marks left blemishes on his perfect doll? 

If Dottore took your blood, as an experiment and frequently lost control, Pantalone took quite a bit of care when taking your blood. Too much care, for it to have any real warmth. When he wanted to take your blood, he’d have the servants wash and dress you. You’d spend an absorbent amount of time, trying on dress after dress until Pantalone saw something he liked. Only when you were primed and dressed to perfection did his smile become razor sharp. 

For you, if Pantalone took your blood, it hurt far less than when Dottore took it. If Dottore was messy, Pantalone never spilled an unnecessary drop. You could almost feel you might have been precious, with the way he handled you.

But with the smile plastered on his face, you could never figure out your value as a Blood Mistress to him. 

Capitano

Although it was rare, sometimes there was another supernatural species that shared a Blood Mistress with the vampires in the coven. Capitano was the only Werewolf in the coven

Capitano was a man of few words but quite a bloodlust. He was usually away from the coven for long stretches of time. The only information you ever got was that he was a warrior in service for the Vampire Lord. 

As a Werewolf, he obviously didn't drink blood but felt the need to mark you. And since he was away from you for long stretches of time, he felt the need to constantly mark you when he was.

A lot, and his teeth hurt more than the vampires did. 

And if he was there at the coven, he could also be found sparring with Childe. The only thing you’d rue about his presence was that he would join Childe in your training…. 

Childe

Listen, this man is your lifeline in this coven. He’s not stable either, don’t mistake me, but if you need something, he was the one to ask. You could at least communicate with him, and he seemed to care for you…in his own way. 

Family was a big thing for him, and he took you being their Blood Mistress the most serious. Especially in the beginning, I can’t count the number of times he fought with the others to have some awareness about your needs.

With Childe taking your blood, you could almost think he genuinely cared for you, compared to some of the others that you’d question their motives. Even afterward, worry shone in his eyes for your wellbeing.

But he was a vampire warrior, and he had his own bloodlust. Like Capitano, he too was away from the coven for long stretches of time, usually leaving you with Dottore and Pantalone who did not go out as much. 

If he was home, he was always training. And yes, he would start training you. No, you didn't get a choice about it and no, there wasn’t any grand reason. Although, you would be in service to the Vampire Lord Tsaritsa, you were not allowed to be in danger or far from home. 

And what a trainer, Childe was! He was ruthless, and adding Capitano wasn’t any better. The latter didn’t say much when Childe was training you, even if you looked like you were having a nervous breakdown from it.

The first time you started training, you did start having nervous breakdowns. Childe just gazed down at you, almost without mercy. This was the only time you were scared of Childe. This was the one time, that communication did not work. At least, he realized you couldn’t be expected to go from 0-100 in one day when you’ve never fought before. So not worry, he started light from the ground up. But even starting light and building your way but, he still did not yield any mercy.  

I honestly don’t know, how you survive in this bloody coven. Well, one of two things happen, you eventually go mad, or you blossom into your own brand of insanity.

Today I'm Gonna Play: Nu: Carnival

I've always seen mobile gacha games that depict lots of female characters. I don't see much of the same for male characters, despite some games showing huge success of having them (i.e. HoyoVerse games and Fate Grand Order). I stumbled across a mention of this on a post about gachas with a male majority cast. I checked to see if it's worth it.

**TW: This is an 18+ BL game containing sexual content to the point that it's not even on the App Stores, although a censored version will be released soon for the stores. I will not be detailing the naughty bits much regardless.**

I have to say, when the content warning popped up mentioning that a scene contains adult content and that I have the option to skip it, I thought it'd be something akin to softcore for some reason. Instead, there was an entire scene with everything shown in all its glory and descriptions. I did get a laugh out of being surprised.

But admiteddly, this game does not cut corners in presentation, at all. The art style is very appealing with a diverse amount of character designs that fit various tropes, and the animation is actually spendid, both in regular and explicit scenes. Although regular animations do tend to move around with a lot of exaggeration, so this can be a turn off for some players. Maybe it's because I don't play BL or adult games much so I'm not in the know for what's the latest or what's buzzing, but I'm getting the impression that this game is a lot more underrated than expected.

The story is not too bad. At least for once I'm paying a little attention to it in a gacha game. It basically acts as an isekai where you gain the role of being a successor to a sorcerer and sex somewhat acts as an energy source. Character dynamics are nice where present, but the best part for me personally is that I like that the relationships are depicted in a healthy manner, where it's more consensual. There are also side stories in the form of events which are fun to read through.

Gameplay is surprisingly fun! It's turn-based with a front view perspective. The UI is very animated which feels like it's giving me little dopamine hits lol. Your party consists of the characters in different tiers known as rarity, and they also have roles such as debuffers, healers, strikers, etc. so there is a fair share of strategy involved. Your party also needs to be leveled up via potions, as well as increase their ranks (kind of like ascensions in Genshin Impact), and also increase certain base stats known as Potential. However at some point it does get grindy as the requirements for getting to the next levels gets higher and higher in terms of your team's power level. This is a system I loathed in another gacha game (Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis), but it's more bearable here because the game offers you other things to do instead, such as events.

As for the gacha aspects, there is a way to get the rolls you want by using a guest account and then binding when you're satisfied, so it is generous in that sense. I'm also F2P so far and I've had decent rolls in the beginning, though lately it's been awful lol. I did think about spending a bit of money, but the prices for what they ask are ridiculously high, which is one aspect I dislike about the game. You can instead gain rewards through quests such as dailies, weeklies,etc., join a guild to do quests in order to collectively earn rewards, do explorations and craft things, or buy with other currencies that don't require payment.

In the end, I'm actually playing this game religiously , but I'm also quite relaxed with it. It's a nice game to drop by and do some stuff and then hop off while you go about with your day. I do hope that the censored version can bring in more users (the intended audience, that is).

random fun facts about me :3 (mostly the weird shit)

i eat apples from the bottom down. like i start at the bottom and just eat the whole damn thing. saves me from having to throw away the core when i'm done

i like this one particular brand of sourdough bread and i literally take a loaf, slice it in half, scoop out all the fluffy bits and then just slather the crust in butter. it tastes better that way. (i still eat the fluffy bits dw. i just prefer the crust because it gives me something to gnaw on)

i have played so much genshin impact that i have developed a stim where i do the weird little hand gesture thing that the characters do in about 95% of the cutscenes.

my first fanfiction was a hasbin hotel fic about my two oc's. this was before the main show came out and it was posted on wattpad like 5 years ago. it has only two views and one chapter and i hate it with every fibre of my being

the longest amount of time i've been awake is 37 hours. it wasn't all that bad and i'm sure i could've stayed awake longer but i just wanted to sleep by then

my favourite video game is genshin impact and i've probably played more than 2000 hours.... and i know far too much about the lore

i do know genshin impact is your favourite game, i have your discord and i get to see the “playing genshin impact, 10 hours” in the corner most days when i go check my messages. it’s terrifying. like realistically i know you have to like, keep the game idle for some reason (to collect rewards? idk) because my brother also did that, but still.

I'd been so emotionally baffled by the Elliot Gindi situation that I've stayed off of Twitter for most of the week, so much so that my nails are bitten down to their beds (an old habit I kicked around six years ago, with the current situation bringing it back), but going on for the first time since learning about everything and being bombarded by piece of evidence after piece of evidence, both factual and disproven (confirmed), I've decided to put together a post of links and summaries where you can find this evidence.

As Tumblr only allows a certain number of photos per post, I'll either have things collaged or will have simply added the links to the posts for larger bits of evidence; whatever's necessary.

This compilation will begin beneath the cut of this post to avoid unnecessary exposure to those who wish to scroll past. Additionally, I would like to note a few things to keep in mind while this situation continues to, unfortunately, unfold, in regards to Elliot, the victims, and Genshin Impact.

Elliot may have voiced Tighnari, but as we all should know and be able to differentiate, he is not the character. There is no point to hating on a collection of pixels. For some, it is difficult to separate the two, or for better phrasing, knowing that Elliot voices/once voiced him, it will be hard for some to not associate the two so closely. Please respect those who have this difficulty. This isn't an easy time, but the conversation on this abuse should not be trained anywhere else but on this matter.

Victim blaming is cruel and senseless. At this point in time, over twenty victims have come out with proof/evidence/information, and as such, they should not be treated with the "looking for attention" party line. Be respectful to the victims during this time, because as hard as you might be taking this news, I can personally assure you that they are taking it much, much harder.

Finally, some of these victims are underage. I'm talking as young as 13, here. All the more reason to not victim blame, as they are literal children. There's nothing more easily manipulated and pliable as a child's mind, something a good, proper adult knows full well. And, the bad ones know this, too, which is why they do what they do, the "what" being all of this.

Be respectful to the other voice actors, as well. Some of them were good friends or good acquaintances or coworkers with Elliot and are also taking this news difficultly. Some more than others, which I'll get into below, as well.

Finally, please remember that when people like this pull stunts like this and reuse and recycle the same tactics on those younger and more impressionable, and then begin "apologizing", it is not for their own guilt. It is for the fact that they were caught, and are now backtracking to try and save their own asses.

As of February 13th, 2023, there appears to be a formal investigation of Elliot Gindi and all existing evidence has been collected for the purpose of this investigation.

While I will be adding TWs in the tags below, I'll also include them below this paragraph, as I'm sure not everyone has tags blocked on here. I will not be going into any specifics on a case-by-case basis out of respect for the victims, nor will I quote any specific comments/remarks made by Elliot. I don't know if there are words that get triggered for post review here on Tumblr like other sites have, so you might find some words asterisked (*) throughout.

Tw warnings for p*dophilia, tr*nsphobia, gr**ming, ableism, sexual assault, self-harm, emotional abuse, blackmail, mentions of s*icide (manipulation tactics), mentions of eating disorders (sexual relations with minors.

Okay, I think that covers all of that. Let's begin.

Minor note before we get into things: as it stands, all evidence provided has pointed out undeniable proof of Elliot Gindi being problematic in almost, if not all, every shape, way, and form. I think the only thing he's yet to do is physically act on some of the things he has said over the course of his time of voicing Tighnari. That we're aware of, anyway. But he has admitted to his foul behaviour.

In early February, Twitter member and former Discord mod for Elliot's Twitch channel, FretCore (Matty), came forward with a compilation doc of screenshots of submitted conversations between Elliot and other fans. The original Google Doc has since been removed in accordance with their terms of use rules, but since then, a WordPress site has been created. A majority of the following evidence comes on behalf of them and the other mods, as well as the victims (who remain nameless/anonymous/under aliases).

(I've linked their Twitter account for ease of access; however, please know that the evidence you will find either posted or retweeted there is not for the faint of heart. I advise you to heed general TWs should you choose to browse.)

Before the allegations went live, Elliot had already been in contact with numerous fans since October of 2022, betraying their trust by using their adoration for his work as Tighnari as his weapon of choice. He would target young, influential fans, especially those who had revealed themselves to have a mental health condition that might be easily manipulated, for the purpose of and resulting in installing a power dynamic. Elliot spoke with Corina Boettger (Paimon VA) and mentioned that he "spoke with them", referring to him coming "clean" about his behaviour (I will post her responses in another section below).

On February 6th, 2023, Elliot posted this on Twitter, announcing a "temporary" departure from social media:

Over the past two weeks, twenty-four victims have come forward-- Tokki, Kazuya, Haruka, Faru, Atticus, Cal, Luc, Kit, strrbryss, Miki, Aynour (submitted to Matty), An (account protected), Roro, Lei Lanii (account protected), and ten other unnamed victims. Not only were the messages sent by Elliot highly manipulative, but they were extremely inappropriate for multiple reasons. Below, I will tl;dr for you the specifics of each case. I know many of you haven't been able to stomach the details of the situation for numerous valid reasons, and I'm sorry that this has reawakened a lot of pain for everyone in the process.

TW User Tokki (he/they, 17y.o.) shared the messages between them and Elliot where the former VA had been the one to initiate contact. Tokki had been a member of Elliot's Discord server and would frequently message them under the guise of a mental health check-in, until admitting that he took notice of them after they'd posted a cosplay. The use of their dead name and incorrect pronouns went hand-in-hand with fetishizing their sexuality and mentioning other harmful comments in regards involving conversion and transphobia. He also used their mental health history (past and present) to try and cover himself by calling Tokki "crazy"; Tokki later relapsed around New Years and was almost sent to a psychiatric hospital when Elliot threatened to commit. When Elliot was kicked from a private server they were both in, along with Tokki's friends, the two spoke only enough that Tokki eventually blocked him and contacted a mod. TW

TW User Kazuya (pronouns unknown?) shared the messages between them and Elliot that had the former VA using inappropriate nicknames, encouraged them providing sexual favours to him over video and voice recordings, and wound up hospitalized for attempting to comply with one of his requests. Other messages from Elliot included him encouraging Kazuya to get tested for any sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) so they could engage in unprotected sexual intercourse should they ever meet. TW

TW The first unnamed victim sent Elliot a fanart of himself and a nice message. It wasn't soon after that Elliot began making sexual remarks. Elliot deleted their conversation before it could be recorded through screenshots, but Elliot began to fetishize their bisexuality for his own personal enjoyment. TW

TW User Haruka (assuming she/her, based; 20y.o.) also sent Elliot fanart and told him how much she enjoyed his Tighnari work. The conversation, which wasn't expected to become a conversation, quickly escalated into one of sexual remarks from Elliot, that Haruka felt "extremely obligated [to] give him what he wanted" (nudes). Haruka says that before the escalation, she felt "safe" speaking with Elliot, but the 180-degree on both her and the others' situation has since put her in a "horrible mental state". TW

TW User Faru (he/they, 14y.o.; Ace) met Elliot through IG when they sent him fanart and pulls from Genshin. After a bit of kind conversation, Faru opened up about a previous SA where Elliot asked invasive questions on the matter; whenever it got too much and Faru got upset, Elliot would guilt them into rejoining the conversation, which only got more explicit (again, I won't be adding any details here). While all of the cases here are extreme, Faru's evidence has its own TW within one of the screenshots, so please bear this in mind should you decide to read the texts yourself. TW

TW User Atticus (he/they, 18y.o.) had a brief encounter with Elliot through a voice call. He dm'ed Elliot some Tighnari doodles and he called them "cute", before asking if they could chat over call. They did, and it was at first normal, until Elliot eventually turned on his camera and revealed him to be naked and masturbating (Atticus assumes it was to his voice). Atticus was 17 at the time of the incident, and his age was public in his Discord. He immediately left the call and blocked Elliot. TW

TW The second unnamed victim had sent Elliot a Tighnari edit through Twitter, not having Discord. Elliot saw it on his personal account, but messaged them back on a burner account. Elliot almost immediately inquired to their sexuality/gender details and country. It was obvious in the intonation of their text that this unnamed victim felt uncomfortable with the flow of conversation, but felt obligated to indulge him. The two exchanged certain photos, and even multiple voice clips. This victim ghosted Elliot for two weeks, and upon re-entering the conversation, Elliot immediately went into a guilt-trip/self-loathing/pity party that frightened them. Another picture was sent, this one involving self-harm that greatly triggered the victim. They told him to seek help, and presumedly, blocked Elliot. TW

TW User Cal (he/they, 14y.o.) tells that he reached out to Elliot about Tighnari, as well, and Elliot repeated the previous pattern of asking personal questions, asking for Cal's deadname (which he did not give) and for Cal's discord. Elliot eventually asked Cal to delete their IG chats and was manipulated into doing so, so unfortunately, they are unable to provide physical evidence. Two months ago, Elliot asked for a picture of Cal. At this point, it is unclear if Elliot is aware of Cal's true age (unlikely). Elliot throws another self-loathing/pity party. Cal has declined to share anymore information, to spare his mental health. TW

TW User Luc (any pronouns; 21y.o.) spoke to Elliot on their old Discord account around September 2022, having joined Elliot's server with it but quickly leaving as they felt uncomfortable being in a server (general). Elliot private messaged Luc, eventually falling into his same pattern of personal, inappropriate questions of Luc's sexuality, what they had on, where Luc lived, etcetera. When Elliot asked for Luc's Snapchat, Luc declined, not keen on giving it out. The day after, Elliot asked if Luc would join them on video call and masturbate with him. Luc expressed how uncomfortable they felt during this exchange, and demanded he stopped when Elliot asked for photos of Luc's breasts. Elliot began apologizing, and asked Luc to make a new Discord and delete the one used in their conversations, hence why Luc has no available evidence. Luc did send a clothed, full-body picture at Elliot's request, but Elliot made a comment on his thinner appearance (unfortunately, This spanned over two days. TW

TW The third unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 18y.o.) was also a victim to Elliot's pattern of abuse: the personal, invasive questions once the victim introduced themselves as a supporting fan; "where do you live?"/"what are you wearing?" This victim chatted with Elliot on Discord through an alt account of his and experienced his self-deprecating remarks once being told that they were uncomfortable with the situation, and the fact that he heavily used their trauma against them. The victim believes that after they blocked Elliot, he deleted the alt account. TW

TW User Kit (he/they, 13y.o.) came forward with some of the most sickening evidence that I'd read at this point. In being the youngest victim, it was quite painful reading through his testimony. Their interaction started off the same way as the others, along with the personal questions. Kit assumed he was being friendly and knew his age, as it was posted to his bio. Elliot continued to address Kit with female pronouns despite being informed of Kit being afab. He asked Kit more invasive things (I will not list them) before jumping into the extremely sexual comments, additionally calling Kit "good girl" on a consistent basis, and even sending Kit a dick pic. When it was finally attached to the conversation that Kit is only 13 years old, Elliot goes through his self-deprecating, s*icide-threatening spiel to gain sympathy from Kit, and successfully encourages him to delete their Discord chat. But, Kit kept the receipts. TW

TW User strrbryss (unknown pronouns, 14y.o.) posted their recount of their experience with Elliot on TikTok, which was then sent to Matty. Again, it was the same pattern of manipulative abuse he used on the other fans after receiving an edit from strrbryss: the personal, invasive questions turn to requests for sexual favours, which were, at first, rejected by strrbryss (Elliot managed to manipulate and bait her through threatening s*icide); the self-deprecating remarks. strrbryss blocked him soon after. TW The fourth unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 14y.o.) opened up to Elliot after having made an alt account for the purpose of sending him fanart, where the former VA created another false place of safety before asking about their personals. This victim unfortunately did provide their personal information. After giving Elliot their Snapchat, he began making advances on them and would ask for nudes, despite making it clear numerous times that they were underage, and even make them sit through inappropriate video calls with him. The fourth victim ultimately stopped talking to Elliot and blocked him, and he deleted their messages. TW

TW The fifth unnamed victim (assumed pronouns being he/they [enby], 20y.o.) sent Elliot fanart, who turned their current fixation of Tighnari into full-on conversations, appearing as a friend to them. Elliot soon began asking for personal audios, admitting to masturbating to one of the voice clips sent by the victim (presumedly?); he would ask to sext with the victim, as well, where they would then try and shift the conversation to get out of it. Elliot began guilt-tripping the victim, getting in their head and using their situation with their friends as a catalyst; he requested explicit videos from the victim, and even photos of their s*lf-h*rm scars. Elliot would eventually start harassing this victim's friends, and ultimately blocked Elliot. TW

TW The sixth unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 13y.o.) sent their compliments to Elliot on his work as Tighnari through Discord back in late December. They and Elliot began a conversation, talking more regularly until Elliot began asking the same personal questions and attempting to give the victim the same false sense of safety. This victim had already informed Elliot of their age multiple times. Elliot made inappropriate/sexual comments regarding the victim wearing their favourite lipstick after showing just them wearing lipstick (and nothing else) in a photo to him. The victim began to purposely distance themselves from any conversation with Elliot as the inappropriate behaviour progressed, where Elliot then spammed them on Twitter and Discord asking if they were "mad at him". He tried backtracking and "apologizes". The victim has deleted their chats together and has blocked Elliot since. TW

TW The seventh unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 12/13y.o.) was 12 at the time that they contacted Elliot Gindi to give praise for his voice acting. This victim has a prior of being sexually harassed/gr**med (one of the abusers actually being similar to Elliot), and Tighnari was a comfort character for them. The victim shared their IG handle with Elliot when he asked for photos, and only commented on them (not mentioning the victim's mother, who was also in the picture). He began asking the victim "weird things", such as the type of clothes they wore, if they had a boyfriend, if they could send him a picture of what the victim was presently wearing. The victim would brush off his questions, still wanting to stay connected to "Tighnari". The questions got more sexually inappropriate, to which the victim informed Elliot of their history of being a gr**ming victim. Elliot sent the victim a dick pic along with extremely sexually vulgar comments. These events sent the victim into a panic attack and forced them back into therapy, and even to the greatest extreme of begging their mother to move out of the United States in fear of Elliot. TW

TW The eighth unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 15y.o.) had conversations with Elliot in vanish mode (due to a previous experience, but also as Elliot said it was "better that way"). The two sexted back and forth. The victim had heard that it was "easy to get a response from him" and wanted to speak to the voice actor of her favourite character. Elliot lured them in by providing them his Tighnari voice for NSFW roleplays. When the victim explained that they were getting bored of Genshin Impact, Elliot immediately began guilt-tripping them, saying that they "just hated him and wanted to use him for his voice and talents", that "he should just disappear then if [they're] so bored", that they were "breaking his heart". The victim (thankfully) recognized his behaviour and kept their distance, eventually deleting the messages from their conversations (five conversation took place beginning late December, three of which were sexual). TW The ninth unnamed victim (unknown pronouns, 26y.o.), while they didn't suffer from any sexual advances from Elliot after initiating conversation with him over IG, they were on the receiving end of Elliot's request for them to s*lf-h*rm relapse. He even attempted to gaslight the victim by saying "if you really cared for me". They had to "lecture" Elliot about asking for this. TW

TW User Miki (he/they/she, 13y.o.) says they don't have any evidence of the "cringy sex talk", but managed to keep the screenshot from the day Elliot threatened them. They assume he has kept the nudes they sent him, as he also threatened to share them if they revealed anything of their interactions. Miki is currently suffering through depression, and shares their regards to the other victims. TW

TW User Aynour (assumed pronouns being she/they, unknown age) was a lip MUA and would post the looks on IG, at the time that they messaged Elliot to compliment him and his work. He complimented them in turn and asked if they could video call while they put on their makeup. He didn't say much during the interaction and his camera had an odd angle to it; Aynour later found out that Elliot was touching himself to her applying lipstick. Elliot proceeded to make sexually inappropriate comments that made Aynour so uncomfortable that she immediately ended the call. Elliot apologized later, dubbing what happened during the call a "misunderstanding", and telling Aynour that he thought they knew he'd been "interested in [me] sexually". Aynour does not have the screenshots, as they deleted their entire IG account after being unable to take the thought of anyone looking at any of their photos and thinking the same thoughts that Elliot voiced to them. "I can't put on lipstick anymore." TW

TW The tenth unnamed victim (now "named" Rhea; assumed pronouns being she/they, 19y.o.) was a member of his Discord server and complimented Elliot on his voice work for Tighnari; they additionally said they enjoyed the stream Elliot had done with CyYu (Cyno's voice actor), and when they went on about the latter, Elliot showed signs of jealousy. When the victim opened up about a prior sexual assault by a family member, Elliot inquired if they "liked it", to which the victim informed him that the event had been why they were now into females only. Elliot proposed that he change this for them, himself, or by means of a threesome with another fan. Elliot exploded on the victim, lying and bringing up CyYu's name in the guise of him hating the victim, and saying that the victim was "a disgusting attention seeker that plotted against him to ruin his career". Elliot's response was enough to send the victim to seeking psychiatric help and stayed in a psych ward for two weeks; they stopped playing Genshin, stopped watching Twitch, stayed indoors. The victim finally told their mother what happened and both had gone to the authorities and sought an attorney's help. The victim deleted their Discord and the evidence, after being told they couldn't help with this situation. The victim laments that they allowed themself to be fooled by his words, and that he manipulated them into hating CyYu from Elliot's lies, leading them to tear up a treasured autograph from CyYu. Elliot, before the evidence from this victim could even be posted, sent this victim more messages (20 minutes before Matty posted the evidence). TW

TW User An (they/it, 16/17y.o.) met Elliot on Discord in the beginning of December, and complimented him on his work in Genshin. A few days after talking, the two would voice chat (vchat?), when Elliot commented on their voice and how attractive it was. On December 27th, Elliot began asking An about their sexual fantasies, and asked them to show their face to him. An would ask him to stop, and after An told their friend, Kishke, about the situation, Elliot told An to delete their messages-- and An would, if he apologized. He "did", and An deleted them. Elliot then threatened s*icide and s*lf-h*rm to get his way, using the words "If you tell anyone else, I might have to kill myself". An would try to talk him out of s*icide, and Elliot proceeded to sexualize them helping him, calling their efforts "sexy". The day after, An blocked Elliot on Discord and Twitter. TW

TW User Roro (unknown pronouns, 19y.o.) contacted Elliot two weeks before their 19th birthday, to express how much she loved his character and the voice used for him. After a bit of conversation, and Roro saying they've done some commercial work on the side, Elliot proceeds to make a sexual comment/joke(?) about their voice. Elliot would ask stranger questions, specifically regarding if they'd had bottom surgery. Roro later offhandedly mentioned having a Tighnari pillow, to which Elliot asked them to send a video of them humping it-- Roro blocked him and deleted the messages. TW

TW User Lei Lanii (unknown pronouns, 16y.o. - 21y.o.) met Elliot much earlier than the aforementioned victims, in a Pokemon server called PokemonGoGo, where Elliot defended Lei Lanii when they'd been bullied for their art, and then sent them a friend request. From the age of 16, Lei Lanii and Elliot would speak often, the latter consistently sending Lei Lanii compliments about them and their art, and eventually, asking them if they would sneak out to see him, or draw lewd art for him. Elliot would trick and gaslight Lei Lanii into clinging to him (they have attachment issues), and they have been speaking ever since. Please, if you decide to read their evidence, it is very triggering. Caution yourself. TW

Even now, more victims are coming out with statements. Unfortunately, it is too vast a number to keep up with. Should the WordPress document ran by Matty be updated, I will add them into this posting. I only relay information, but I am not in a place to verify truth or falsities.

GENSHIN IMPACT STATEMENTS

February 15th, 2023 @ 9:30 PM "Dear Travelers, After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract. "At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari's existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!"

The following are comments and statements supplied by the Genshin Impact English voice cast (as of February 15th). I've likely missed some. There's a lot.

Corina Boettger (voice of Paimon)

"I was one of the people he called before this all came out 2 days ago to "come clean". Which I don't know why. Besides a few random tweets I haven't had a direct conversation with him since I think august last year. I feel gross that he came to me. Worse is that he told another person that I "took it well". Which makes me feel gross that he thought I was on his side. I wasn't. Even him watering down the situation I told him it was bad. And yeah over the call I didn't yell or freak out but that doesn't mean I was okay. I shut down. My partner has had to deal with my mental state for the aftermath of this & it is not good. Cause at that point Elliot told me he didn't think anyone would come forward because he "talked to them" which really just tells me he tried to manipulate them more. But I was immediately in a position where I was thinking "who do I go to... I have to let people know he isn't safe". Luckily shortly after that call someone else reached out to me and notified me that things were in motion, people were being notified, and then they also sent me the actual severity of what happened. I knew he wasn't giving me the full truth. He even alluded to me that because one of the victims had a mental disorder that they don't really have the wherewithal to come forward. Which completely broke me. To be honest I disassociated through the conversation so I am only remembering what I can but my partner was there during the conversation and I was on speakerphone so I know I didn't imagine it. But I am autistic. I know with previous experience how I was scouted by abusers because of it. Cause then my word would not be trusted. Also when he told me he made sure everything was deleted so they have no "real proof" I told him that was stupid cause if you did nothing wrong you wouldn't have had them delete anything. He knew. He knew what he was doing was wrong and he did it anyway. And I feel so gross and sick that he came to me like I was a friend when I never was. I had a feeling from the start something was off about him but I said nothing because you're not supposed to judge people instantly like that. I feel like maybe if I had spoken up no one would have gotten hurt. But all I had was my gut instinct at the time. Thank you to those that came forward. It isn't easy. You didn't deserve this. And I'm sorry this happened to you. I feel so guilty. I feel like I could have helped more. He knew it was bad or he wouldn't have called me to try to change the narrative before it was even out. He even told me that he was going to contact others he worked with. Meaning he was trying to garner support before it happened. I wish when he told me I yelled at him. I wanted to. But I thought that would make it worse for the victims. I also thought maybe if I kept calm he would give me more info so I could help the victims. But it made me sick. I feel sick for not telling him right then and there to f*ck off. I replay what I can remember from the conversation over and over thinking "yes you told him what he did was bad but you could have done more" cause the fact that he told others I took it well? That just makes me so angry. I cried after that call. My partner has done nothing but comfort me the last 2 days saying I did the right thing. Thank god someone contacted me shortly after that call saying they had it handled and that the victims were safe. Because I really thought it was just down to me at that point and I had no idea who the victims were or how to handle it. I wish I could have done more to help. I wish my stupid disability didn't make me shut down when dealing with stress especially when there are people who are hurting who could have used my help.

Zach Aguilar (voice of Aether)

Disappointed and angry. I have removed the stream with Elliot and will no longer be associating with him. I refuse to give someone like this a platform in any way. To use your power this way over fans is disgusting and shameful. My heart goes out for the victims of this situation

Sarah Miller-Crews (voice of Lumine)

Shocked and disgusted. I’m sending all my heart to the victims of this situation, I hope all of you are okay. Elliot’s behavior is absolutely inexcusable and he won’t be part of any group streams I help organize in the future.

Cristina Vee Valenzuela (voice of Bennett & Xingqiu)

I am so sorry to all the victims of that person’s horrible and inexcusable actions. I’m so appalled and disgusted. I didn’t know them well but I have cut all ties. Recovery can be a long and difficult journey, please be strong.

Brianna Knickerbocker (voice of Hu Tao)

I am furious. HOW DARE Elliot threaten to take his life if the victims came forward. Truly sick in the head. Everything Elliot has done has left me so angry and triggered. There needs to be consequences for his actions. There needs to be support for the victims. BELIEVE VICTIMS. Victims. Please speak up if and when safe to do so, please don't stop speaking up. I'm so sorry we live in such a dark place with such disgusting predators, groomers. I'm sorry it's hard and scary to speak up. Don't let them silence you. Don't let them win. I BELIEVE YOU.

Brandon Winckler (voice of Tomo, Takuya, Nervous An)

As an actor you have a responsibility for how you handle yourself with fans. Alot of these people are literal children. They adore you/the characters you play. To take advantage of that is beyond gross. In an industry like ours, fandoms can be a reprieve from actual issues some face. I remember how much my fav shows and games would help me. This just really disappoints me beyond belief. It happens too often.

Valory Pierce (voice of Tanina, NPC)

When you’re considered a public figure, it is your sole responsibility to set appropriate and respectful boundaries especially with fans and admirers of your work. But taking advantage of someone else’s fragile mental-health for your own narcissistic pleasure? Absolutely vile.

Allegra Clark (voice of Beidou)

It is critical—as actors, streamers, content creators, whatever your profession—that we be aware of dynamics in relationships between us and the people who consume our work. which is a fancy way of saying don't knowingly pursue fans and especially underage ones CHRIST It shouldn't have to be said, but also, why do people even THINK about that? Why do people meet fans and think about getting their dicks wet (literal or metaphorical)? Why is that something that occurs to people? Why do people LITERALLY seek out fans like that? As baffling as it is to me, I'm fully aware that people look up to me. We aren't trained on how to deal with that, but simultaneously there's a difference between being awkward and *PREYING ON FANS* I'm just. Really angry about this. So much love to the victims, that shouldn't have ever happened to you. The community deserves better. It costs $0 to not be like that. also while I'm venting about his stupid decisions, nonblack people shouldn't say the n-word. idc if you're a person of color, if you're nonblack? get that word out of your mouth. holy shit.

Cory Yee (voice of Gorou)

Like many of my peers and the community, I am thoroughly disgusted by Elliot’s actions. The victims’ bravery is so very important here, and I stand in support of them. My heart goes out to them, but even so it feels so woefully insufficient. Since I found out about what happened, I’ve been reflecting about what to say, and it’s been incredibly hard to put words down. It makes me sick to think about the platform we’ve been gifted being used for such acts. Care and empathy must always be at the center of any community It’s our responsibility as public figures to protect and listen to our community. It’s also our responsibility to create spaces for voices to be heard. And it’s our responsibility to provide a safe place where people can trust one another. I hope the victims will be able to have some level of closure and healing over time. And I can’t speak for everyone, but I know so many of the members of my part of the Genshin fandom stand with the victims, including me.

What do you think about people who enjoy fandom surface? Like, knowing enough to laugh at memes, appreciating fanart, reading fanfics about characters they like, etc. But don't really know many details?

Fun question, and surprisingly controversial for some reason

Honestly, I think that's the purest form of fandom engagement and it should be protected at all costs. I have fully read fanfics over 100k words with no idea who the characters were and read it just like a regular novel. I remember telling the author that and it blew their mind that someone could enjoy their work not from a fandom lens, but from a creative one. I enjoyed the fic because the writing was phenomenal AND I got to support them.

I reblog art all the time with no clue who they are. I go to conventions and buy art from booths having no fucking idea who is drawn. I even talked to my favorite artist and admitted I was worried about buying some of their art because I knew it was Genshin Impact and I've never played it, let alone know anything about it.

Seeing the gradual sadness in her eyes was something I will never forget. I bought every Genshin Impact print she sold and to this day, it is the most gorgeous art I own. I treated it as nothing more than art, because at the end of the day that's what it is. I got to support that small artist and that's more than enough of a reason for me to buy it.

Heck, I never would've gotten this deep into the Batfam if I hadn't first started surface level. We all have to start somewhere. Plus, I think fandom is starting to get more and more gatekeep-y and it's really annoying to see.

Let people enjoy things!

Fandom only exists because of voluntary participation. If we keep gatekeeping it or shunning those who participate, fandom will slowly die out.

It's okay to be a surface level enjoyer. Hell, I go to concerts only knowing one song. I buy band tshirts from bands I only really like three songs they've ever made but those three songs bring me joy. I buy pop toys of characters I just think look cool.

Plus, conversation starters?? You know how fun it is to wear a shirt and have someone comment on it and then getting to learn from them a little bit? The "I love this song" and "I like this one! Listen to it sometime?"

The bonding is so pure. I think humans just love to love things for the sake of loving them and it's adorable.

Sometimes I get caught in the gatekeeper track of "wow, how dare you say you're a fan of you've never XYZ" but then I step back and realize how stupid that is.

Just let people enjoy things, fandom included. I went to a hockey game once?? Dude, that was the most fun I've ever had. Do I know ANYTHING about hockey or the teams playing? Absolutely not. Did I have a blast?? Hell yea.

We have the most fun in life when we stop giving a shit about other people's opinions. Just have fun, whatever that looks like for you.

And if that's knowing every single fact about one fandom and collecting everything there is to buy? Go ham, bud. I'll support it.

He’s a very standoffish person around those he doesn’t know but he’s a lot more open around you. Your bubbly personality balances that out so people are more comfortable socialising with both of you when you’re together.

I think Genya would bring back dolls and plush toys for you when he’s been on a mission. He’ll keep them hidden from everyone else and will only give them to you behind closed doors because of her reputation but he likes giving you gifts he knows you’ll like.

i believe your gripes are completely valid because i have the same gripes. it feels like their storytelling (for the entire game) is all over the place. the high cloud quintet is literally something i’ve never chanced upon in the game. i only know it via fandom. this is similar to how that pyro butterfly lady is the crimson witch. only those who dig deep enough into the game will find out about it, and just like genshin, such “information” spreads quickly in the community.

HOWEVER, what genshin does better than star rail is that its main story DOES NOT rely on these snippets to tell its story. do i need to know she was the crimson witch when what happened to her happened? no. not at all. she was there for X purpose in the main storyline and therefore she did what she had to do and left. her being crimson witch was to add depth to her character which the main story had no space to do so.

stair rail, on the other hand, EXPECTS you to find out all these little tidbits, which to me is too time consuming and annoying. why split the story into its separate segments if i need to know them in order to understand the main story?? that’s just poor storytelling imho.

i think you’ll like this video. i agree with it. i get that the funeral for fox character was supposed to be emotional, but this video is right that we know NOTHING about this character. from my own personal experience, the funeral was so boring and honestly irritating because i. don’t. care. in fact, i didn’t even know she was with us throughout the quest so when she had her background voicelines i was always so confused????

i feel the hype around the characters is because the designs of each character have given people a desire to seek more about said characters, and there is abundance information. but this shouldn’t be something to expect of the players.

ok thank you for validating me LMAO i was constantly wondering "where is the ancient dead people lore" (hcq) during the entire quest chain, which unfortunately contained very little of what fandom promised me (character depth). apparently i've not be reading enough books and pamphlets you can collect since the lore is concentrated there and in limited character's character stories

tbh I think the reveal that La Signora was the Crimson Witch was also really bad lol, for the same reason that the video argues DH IL's transformation is unimpactful. like "omg wow alternate identity revealed!" but it doesn't really have any impact on the conflict of the story we're currently looking at. they could've just switched it, or not even given her a transformation, instead just showing an extended duel with us and making it visible that she was tired and out of power before she dies, and I don't really know if anything would've changed. same with dan heng IL, I'd probably get more out of it if I read the hcq book from that one opera performer, but ehh there wasn't enough visibly shown leadup, like you said.

I guess the difference between genshin world lore (things in artifacts, weapons, books, world quests etc) and star rail lore is that genshin's is either about the past or future, but not necessarily about the present characters? thinking about the pale flame lore, which gave everyone the fatui crumbs before scara and la signora's stories were introducted in the main storyline, the enkanomiya quests about the vishaps and ancient history of teyvat, and the narzissenkreuz quests that also connect to that + khaenriah + a host of other world lore things. I guess it's nice that reading through all the materials isn't "mandatory" because it's either about the ancient past, dead npcs (so many of the artifact sets) or foreshadowing for important elements in the future that will still get introduced in the main story. I will be biased and agree w you, star rail's lore crumbs are rather :\ storytelling. like I would be fine if the hidden nuggets of lore were about >npcs >lore that happened but is not directly relevant to a character's main arc >foreshadowing for future events/story. but instead it's more like mandatory background reading that is crucial to understand a character's stories, instead of enriching your knowledge of them? anyways yeah

now abt tingyun. I agree that the funeral was really ???????????? i agree w you and the video lol. playing it, I was mostly in disbelief that we're assuming tingyun is legitimately dead even though she's still playable (no dead playables in genshin moment). about the rest of the video: oh he put things into words that I could not articulate JSDKLFJDSKL. not really any thoughts but i agree that a lot of the characters (qingque, xueyi especially) could have just been cut T_T i like both of their designs and personalities based on other material in game but their main quest participation was Not It rip. also agree about the characters being vehicles for exposition and not having their personalities shine through. I'd argue maybe you can tell somewhat of what they're like (jing yuan, fu xuan, yanqing to some extent) but man there's just too much lore explaining for them to really show what they do on a normal schedule it's so .......... also because fanart and fanfic makes them seem so fun im standing here looking at the main plot like >_> <_< what was that. i'm sure it gets better inside their own companion quests, which I haven't done, but that shouldn't be the only place the character gets to really shine lmao

Currently reading: Kuroshitsuji. I'm really bad at sitting down and reading books so I usually listen to audio books instead but I love collecting books for some reason skdjfhsdf, but keeping up with the Kuroshitsuji manga is easy since one chapter is released every month, and ngl, I would do the same to other on-going manga series but that would require me to... y'know, sit down and read a lot just to catch up skdjfhsd but I do have Vanitas no Carte in the backburner that I'll eventually get to reading in full. Same goes for the Sailor Moon manga, which I actually own the entire collection of, and I have read at least 3 volumes of it + the volumes with the bonus stories. But in general the collection is just... sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust 😭

Current obsession: Uh... I'm very particular in the way I obsess about things skjdfhsdf I don't have a lot of things that I obsess over, but I have a couple that I keep switching between depending on what kind of content I'm exposed to and/or engage in at the moment. Like, for example, right now my current obsession is Breath of the Wild because I'm replaying it to get into the hype for Tears of the Kingdom that is coming out tomorrow (!!!!), and I've been obsessing about it for at least 2 months straight now just because of that. i love cherry so much. he’s one one of my favorite characters of all time. he plays into that “prim and proper character who is quietly capable of earth-shattering belches” trope that gets me every time. i feel like he learned how to burp on command back in his high school punk days with joe and he retains the ability to this day. i also think that he swallows his burps in front of everyone except for joe nowadays. in front of joe, cherry doesn’t give a single fuck. they’ve known each other for so long and despite the bickering they are 100% each other’s person. however if joe were to tell shadow and the kids about just how loud cherry can burp he’d 100% unleash the bitchiest side of himself on joe in two seconds flat.

Loid Forger/Twilight (Spy x Family)

i am a total sucker for dilfs and this man is most definitely a dilf. i love the idea of him trying not to belch in front of his family so he doesn’t disgust them/teach anya bad habits. i also love the idea of him absolutely not being able to hold them in. i’ve touched on this before but i think he’s another one who can burp on command. i love the idea of anya essentially using it as a party trick. he does that throat-opening thing where he sucks in air, puts a few fingers over his lips to send it down to his stomach, and then signals to anya who will press into his tummy and force out a massive belch. she breaks into fits of giggles every time and that makes loid think it’s worth the tummyache he’ll inevitably have later. also i think he’ll occasionally have to burp during WISE missions and when that happens he mutes it as best as possible however when he does that it just makes it longer. so sometimes sylvia will look at him and see him with a fist to his mouth as a low, slow, and drawn out growl emanates from his chest.

i feel like diluc has really long and steady burps. like they never explode out of him like some of the others on this list, rather they slowly roll out. this sucks major ass for mr diluc because he’s the type of person to hate burping in front of other people. he’s usually pretty good at holding his burps in until he gets a moment alone. however when they do come out around other people they’re LONG to the point where he starts to feel embarrassed before the burp has even ended. poor dude hates it. i think he’s definitely burped in front of both kaeya and jean at some point.

Hey Mei, how would you rank the hoyoverse games (top to your favorite and bottom to least)

In my case

1. Honkai impact 3rd- Believe it our not i spend a lot of time playing it. When i first discovered this one and i liked it a whole lot compare to genshin. Me personally i found it intriguing and unique in soo many ways.

2. Honkai star rail- This one was almost top the reason my is on second place is because it's rather the more recent one. The gaccha is rather generous with me and the fact that i like rpg like games it got a huge like in my book

3. Genshin Impact- This one is my least favorite for many reason and it's ironic since this is my first hoyoverse game i played thanks to a friend of mine. I mostly get bored of genshin rather quickly and the fact that i was never lucky with the gaccha it made me sulk into despair in the corner.

For me it'd be:

1. Honkai Star Rail

I usually don't like turn based games and only downloaded it for Kafka, but it turned out to be way more fun than I expected! All of the characters are really well-designed and lovable. Story-wise, I can already tell that it'll be better than Genshin because the devs aren't afraid to go into serious topics and kill off characters. Speaking of the devs, they actually listen to the fans and make good quality of life changes. The events are also really fun!

2. Genshin Impact

Honestly, it's only 2nd place because I have a lot of good memories with it. (e.g. helping my sister farm and explore, helping my friends with their quest)

The characters are either a hit or miss, and the story has made almost zero real progress, as a person who's been playing since release. It's always the same pattern of the traveller going to a new nation, the nation has a problem, the traveller helps them, they don't know anything about the traveller's sibling. The quests are way too long and don't give rewards nearly worth the time it takes to complete them. The anniversary rewards and gacha rates are, quite frankly, ass. The events quickly became overwhelming and just boring in general. (I liked the TCG, though!)

3. Honkai Impact

It hurts me to put this in 3rd place because of how much I absolutely adore all of the characters and the story. My main issue with it is because of how hard it is to understand, especially if you're a returning player. I really want to enjoy the game but the explanations are always something along the lines of "Collect (term that I don't know) to activate (term that I don't know 2). (term that I don't know 2) will apply (term that I don't know 3) to enemies and make them more vulnerable to (term that I don't know 4)." The UI is also a bit confusing and I have to click around a lot just to find what I'm looking for. In particular, I don't really understand the open world exploration, which is why I haven't been able to progress to chapter 33.

I really want to enjoy the game, so if anyone knows where I can find a better explanation for the mechanics, I'd really appreciate it!

4. Tears of Themis

Story is nice, characters are nice, but it somehow manages to be even less f2p-friendly than Genshin. Events are way too hard to complete for casual players.

5. GGZ/Honkai Gakuen

One of the Hoyoverse lore YouTubers/streamers I watch was on this weekend and, in the part I was vaguely listening to, was going on about his (self-admittedly 'copium') hope that Honkai Impact 3rd would see a Genshin or Star Rail surge in popularity once its engine is updated and relaunched. And while he and his chat identified a couple of decent reasons why it hasn't reached the same popularity in the West - no English dub being probably the top one, objectively speaking - it seemed like they weren't getting to the heart of what Hoyo actually changed in order to gain their current foothold in Western gaming space.

To put it bluntly - they diversified out of making solely waifu-collecting games.

It's not just about gender, though that's part of it. Every time I've watched HI3 gameplay, all the playable characters fit the same mold, even if their personalities/roles in the story are different. They're all big boobed anime girls who look to be no older than 18 even if they're hundreds of years old. (Yes, there are some men, but as far as I know they're almost entirely unplayable, or at least not the collectable gacha characters.) Not to say that the character design of Genshin or Star Rail isn't also a bit same-y in the standard anime style (there's still plenty of 'that is NOT a 40 year old woman Hoyo, have any of you ever seen a woman over the age of 20"); it's that they've at least branched out to different genders and heights (if not actual size yet, but that's a rant for a different day), at least enough to appeal to audiences who aren't either a) just here for the anime tits or b) super deep into crazy-assed lore enough that they don't care about anime tits. (Or the combination thereof.)

There's also a gameplay element, at least for me - I've tried playing HI3 three times, and each time I bail within the first hour because the combat is boring as shit. Also the main character has ... let's just say a very particular personality, one that is not my jam in any way, shape, or form. And that's definitely a subjective thing - the personality protag vs silent protag debate is a legit one, no matter which side you fall on.

I wish HI3 appealed to me more. I've really enjoyed diving deep into its absolutely batshit story on YT and part of me would like to be more personally involved in it. But every time I actually watch the gameplay and just get a whole line of teenage girls with ridiculous body models - on top of the unappealing gameplay and a Chinese VA style that really does NOT do anything for me - it reminds me that no matter how cool the story is, it's not a game for me. And while I'm sure there's a larger audience for anime waifus in the West than they're currently reaching, I don't think it's ever going to reach Genshin or Star Rail levels of interest unless they overhaul the available characters.

Took some time because I’m utterly sick + I’m legit failing because I keep procrastinating so I lay off my work playing games or some shizz...

I swear I’ll get on track by next week, I know it.

Got some feedback from a couple of friends that could actually draw and fixed a couple things that need fixing. ( because if I asked anyone else, I would get the reply of “I didn’t ask” or “IT LOOKS SOO GOOD OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW GOOD IT LOOKS IT LITERALLY LOOKS PERFECT.” Which I don’t want because I need actual feedback NOT praise (for now). )

Punishing Gray Raven has been my favorite mobile game so far. It’s challenging, I personally like the aesthetic/atmosphere opposed to Honkai Impact 3rd (Which I used to play on and off a lot.(I heard the story was great but since I played on and off; I would play the story, stop playing for like 6 months, get back into the game and feel like I don’t want to replay the whole story again to understand the current story I am reading.(I legit have almost all the Valkyries except for the new ones and I’m still on like chapter 6(I’m maybe biased because of this)))).  The gameplay is miles better than Honkai’s, and overall, I like it.

I’d recommend trying it once to see if it’s your fancy, however, I have to advise you that It’s a very hard game of its mobile hack and slash genre. The game ain’t for casuals because of how challenging the bosses and overall game is. (Which is why the game is so niche or not very well known). 

I’m also not saying that HI3 is a bad game, the game is a great waifu collecting sim (JK). It’s just the storage + too much effects + too easy for lil old me + and my negligence for not wanting to continue the story.

Ah, I gotta mention how amazing the gacha system is. I used to think HI3 had a very f2p gacha system, but compared to the likes of PGR or Arknights, it’s a lot harder to gain the currency to pull a 10. Can’t wait for Wuthering Waves btw. ( made by the PGR devs ) I know it ain’t gonna be able to compete neck and neck with Genshin because of the same reason as PGR, but I already know the game is going to be a blast.
