yeah, vii was the one i played right after, so it also has a special place, but viii manages to beat it out for a favorite, plus i love viii's soundtrack the most out of all the others i favored selphie and irvine too! in my mind, shiva was squall's main GF, ifrit was selphie's and diablos was irvine's it's gonna sound silly, but i've replayed it so many times, but never fully beat it. i'd get towards the end and be wanting to make sure i've gotten everything/done all the side stuff, but then i'd get distracted by something else and stop playing for a while. then by the time i wanna play again i'd be like, eh, mine as well start from the beginning again. it's a never ending cycle!

same here, the og VII has a special place in my heart as well and i replayed it so often as well but VIII-X all top it for me. and hard agree, VIIIs OST is so good and always managed to trigger deep feelings in me when i hear specific tracks !! also no chocobo theme is as good as VIII imo (and also no one had the baby follow around ajkcbkja)

squall having shiva is like the unspoken rule in the fandom - everyone has her junctioned to him AJKSCBK i also always had quetz to quistis and ifrit to zell. doomtrain just has to go to selphie, do you remember how much she loves trains ? LMFAO

ohj you should finish it!!!! tbh the messed up, unsettling cutscene before it goes wholesome is one of the many reasons why VIII is my fave ( the amount of theories it caused among us trying to interpret the images (the millisecond of faceless squall eg) oof) and the boss battle against ultimecia (her laugh when the battle starts (in an unvoiced game!!) adding to the atmosphere.....the sudden change to her theme when she shifts into final form and her words then....so iconic and still give me goosebumps when i read them <3)

all this and then it feels so rewarding when its over and you see everyone. seifer smiling genuinely at the garden, squalls cute first smile........honestly makes me feel like alls well yet at the same time i always get sad bc its over ahahha

Yeah boss I will, I have a nice collection. When I say I got these over the years I mean I just kept alot of things from when I was young.

Tumblr fucks up my shit alot when I put things under the read more thingy so lets hope all is well. I also had to switch to the browser in the middle of this to add more pictures so that also adds to my worries yippee. Tumblr is a perfect website.

Anyways lets start strong, this one is a fave of mine. Love the pose, love the colors, classic dragon shape. It sits on my nightstand.

Haven’t really got a new dragon since this one, because these things are getting stupid expensive. Enjoying yourself is slowly becoming a privillage. But lets keep this post light hearted.

This one is from when I was younger. One of the spikes on its back is a button. You press it and the wings and jaw move. Its old tho so the springs don’t work well anymore. It also has bendable legs.

A pop out pet. I got this one many years ago so idk if they are still relevant anywhere but the ideea was that its 3 toys in one, and you just switch them inside out. Mine is fantasy themed, it has a dragon, an unicorn and a phoenix. Of course I keep it as the dragon. It became a little lumpy over the years.

mainly series! you can play around with characters more, delve into the feelings, complications, you can include multiple themes or stick to just one. i like working on the plot, it gets my brain working better. i enjoy one shots for things like bingos, writing new characters or shows, and obvi fix it fics. and any requests i get i like to expand on peoples ideas/req's.

oh good god.... i think around 17 that are either currently in the midst of being written, or on the bingo card.

One idea that i'm excited for and do plan on doing relatively soon is Rita Calhoun meets a make up artist through a client that she takes a liking to, they end up on a first date, rita's smitten, but yn's worried that she has a deal breaker considering rita gives off the no kids vibes and she has a young daughter at home. Rita's willing to give it a chance because she's so smitten, and just cutesy fluff and chaos ensues.

YUP lol. I LOVE a good trope of what you think is gonna be a one night stand with a stranger but the next morning you walk in to find out you now work with them/they're the child of your boss/they're your besties sister/etc, etc/

There's also tons of words/phrasing, especially with smut recently that ive been noticing are go to's for me.

i think thanksgiving is tomorrow so i’ll take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday! i hope you enjoy it since you’ve been looking forward to it. do you have any favorite dishes? like i said, i don’t celebrate it but i love food so i’d like to know.

it’s always tricky to get days off work, especially if you have bosses who can decided on that before you. but as long as you don’t work on christmas, i think that’s cool. there are many ppl who don’t get that chance due to the nature of their jobs so i’m always grateful for the breaks i have.

i don’t know much abt zodiac signs but it’s really interesting to know from someone who is. maybe later on you can tell me your perspective on my zodiac sign as i don’t think my personality fully matches with it, and i’ve only learned in recent years that there are many variations of them? it’s still new to me but i’d love to learn from you if you’re up for it.

I APOLOGIZE!!! you've been so kind to me and i really am sorry that it's taking me forever to respond back to you!!

i did enjoy my thanksgiving and it was even better knowing i didn't have to go to work the next day omg. but my favorite dish is probably my mom's stuffing. she makes portuguese stuffing and the receipe was her mom's aka my grandmother so it's been in our family for a while. lowkey i get kind of picky with stuffing because i'm used to how my mom's made it for so long that i'm not interested in others!

THANKFULLY i haven't worked on christmas day in almost 10 years (i've worked at my current job for almost that long it's kind of sickening......) but i did work at target and they were closed on christmas day but christmas eve........................... stayed until at least 9pm because a lady stayed AFTER closing because she had a stack of expired coupons and wouldn't leave until we honored and i was the sucker who's register she went to. also thankfully christmas eve at the job i work at now is until 1pm! i work at a bank but not at a branch anymore so i have a lot more flexiability with my time than i used to

i feel like i know a good amount about zodiac signs but then i don't at the same time and i think it's either my friends telling me about their sign where i'm like oh okay or i'm researching about my family. i know the most about aries because i was amazed at how much of an aries i really am. i'm not sure how much help i'd be about zodiac signs, but i'd love to talk about it anyway!

this is my second secret santa with caratblr (though the person who had me for secret santa dropped off the face of the earth so i never received anything omg) but i had one for monsta x that went so smoothly and lovely and i was really happy and befriend the person who took the time to create something for me. and as someone who did something like this twice, i also like the reveal and excitement of telling the other person who you are!

"Look, Roman, I don't mind your whole BDSM theme you've got going on. It fits you. But this seems to go a little far, even for you. I mean, this is breakfast, right?" Red Hood said, ever sounding so dry and sarcastic, sitting at the other end of the table opposite from you and Roman. You lowered your head in shame, as your face burned with it, your heart clenched painfully and your hands balled into fists, bunching the fabric of your pants, as you started trembling. Roman's arm tightened around your middle. You sat on his lap, as he fed you forks full of food alternating between you and himself. Having woken up feeling bad, this was routine for such mornings. It grounded you, made you feel a little calmer and had you feeling less like you wanted to rip your own skin off. "I'm sorry. I'm embarrassing you," you whispered quietly, so only Roman could hear it. He squeezed you where he held you around your waist and spoke just as quietly, "Not at all, sweetheart." Black Mask encouraged you to lean back into him with a nudge. Your back rested against his chest and stomach, as your head was supported by his shoulder. Turning your head to the side, your nose pressed against his neck. The smell of his leather mask and perfume all too familiar and soothing to you. You inhaled, a quiet and content sigh left your lips, as you relaxed a little. "Now, now, Red. I don't see why this should be any of your business, hm? This is my home after all. I own everything and everyone in here. Therefore I can do as I please, wouldn't you agree?" Roman said finally, tilting his head a little, looking as inquiring as he sounded. "Sure, sure. Still, it's just... weird. No offense." A dry chuckle left Black Mask's mouth as he shook his head slightly and tightened his grip around you, sure to leave a bruise by now. That was that then. You knew Roman had plans for Red Hood, so he probably held himself back here because of it. Usually he would have shot the person uttering such things as soon as those words had left their mouth. You were glad he hasn't done it this time, as you didn't fancy having someone's blood on your hands. After a couple of minutes of charged silence, in which the three of you finished eating your breakfast, Roman squeezed your waist once more. You lifted your head and sat up properly. "I need to talk some business with Red, here. You can go and do whatever you like, as always, alright, baby?" You nodded and gave a quick, uncertain glance over to Red Hood before turning your head and leaning into Roman. Then you pressed your lips against the cold metal zipper of his mask, which he's closed back up seconds before. Black Mask hummed approvingly in the back of his throat and nudged his masked face against yours in mock of a kiss back. Then you leaned back again and slid off his lap. You waved good-bye and then left the room. As soon as you were alone, the crushing feelings from before came back in a rush. The shame, the guilt, the anxiety, the anger. It was so much. Too much. Promptly, you started trembling again. Your skin felt tight, you wanted to rip it off, scream, cry and disappear. You had embarrassed Roman. Red Hood probably couldn't take him seriously because of you. Just because you're so fucking pathetic that you needed to be sat on his lap and be fed. Fuck! Intrusive thoughts of hurting yourself came over you, such as the urge; and fuck, it was so strong. It hasn't been this strong in at least two weeks. A long time for you. You didn't want to do it, though. You didn't want to give in. Walking around the penthouse and trying to find something to do that would take your mind off things, the urge only became stronger. It loomed over you, suffocated you. It was so tempting. You just wanted to get rid of those feelings. You just wanted them gone so badly. Various images of how you could do it popped up, your mind's eye forced to take them in. It was an itch you desperately tried not to scratch. After an hour of having done skills and tried to get rid of the feelings through some exercise and such, you were still trembling with the urge and overwhelming tightness of the suffocating emotions. You figured that perhaps Roman was done with talking by then, so you went back to the dining room where you have left him. "Hey, Luke, is Roman still busy talking in there?" You asked one of the masked goons standing outside the door. Your voice sounded tight, restrained, and yet so very dull. All those emotions that still tried to claw their way out of you were held back by you by sheer force. "Yeah, he is. What d'ya need him for? I'm sure the boss doesn't mind if ya interrupt him if it's important." "Fuck," you muttered. "No, no thank you. I really don't wanna interrupt him," you then said louder, so Luke could hear you. He nodded and you turned to go back to your room. A while later, you were sitting in the hallway that housed Roman's family portrait. You sat on the floor in front of it, a sketch book in your lap and a pencil and eraser in your hands. Your ears twitched when an unfamiliar footfall came closer to you. When you looked up, you saw it was Red Hood. Immediately panic gripped on to your heart, squeezing it tightly, and surrounded your lungs, making it hard to breathe. Red Hood was looking from side to side before crouching down in front of you. "What are you doing here?" He asked, confusing you. "Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" "No, I meant here, as in, with Black Mask. Is he forcing you? Blackmailing you? Look, if he's got something on you, I can help you." Your face twisted with both confusion and anger. The panic hasn't subsided, but it made a little way for anger and hurt. "Excuse me? Do you- Who do you think you are? Why do you think you have any place to make such horrendous assumptions?" "He's a bad man and you know it. I'm sure you're not unaware to his 'business', right? It's not too far-fetched that he might have gotten a little too lonely and... y'know?" "What the fuck? Listen, Red, I don't give a fuck who you are or who you aren't. I don't give a fuck that you clearly don't know shit about what you're saying, so just leave me alone, will you?" Instead of leaving you alone, he gripped your arm and pulled it towards himself. "I'm not stupid, I've seen the bruises on you-" You snapped. "Shut up! Shut the fuck up! Shut up, shut up, shut up! You don't know anything! Shut the fuck up!" You shouted, pulling your arm free from him, as he loosened his grip in surprise. Your vision was blurry and red, tears burned your eyes, you were in so much pain all over again. You had just managed to get rid of it. Not without visible bruises on your arms. The bruises Red Hood mistook for abuse marks from Black Mask. It made you feel sick. You took the pencil from the ground where it had fallen onto, after you had jumped up when you had pulled your arm free. Close to stabbing it in your arm, someone embraced you from behind, one arm went around your waist and held you tightly against their chest, pressing their body against your back; and gripped tightly on to your wrist of which hand you held the pencil with. The soothing and familiar smell of leather and his perfume hit you. Roman. You trembled with the panic, the overwhelming emotions and the urge to follow through with what you've almost had just a moment ago. "Ssshhhh, sweetheart, ssshhh," Roman cooed, shushing you quietly. A whimper left your lips as you let go of the pencil. The noise it made when it hit the floor was crushingly loud in your ears.   "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," you repeated over and over again, whimpering and sniveling. Roman continued to shush you quietly, lowered your arm to your side and turned you around, so you could bury your face in the crook of his neck. He wrapped his arms around you tightly and stroked over your back soothingly. "Leave now," he commanded Red Hood, whose quick footsteps you could hear fading away. "Oh, sweetheart, my darling boy. What did he say? What happened, huh?" Your sobs had died down by that point and while it took you a great amount of effort to be able to reply, you did. "He thought you were forcing me to be with you. That you were abusing me b-because of my-my bruises. I'm sorry. I've already embarrassed you at breakfast and now I did it again, I'm sorry, Daddy, I'm so sorry!" "Not at all, sweet boy. You haven't embarrassed me at all. Calm down, eh? It's alright. If anything, he was trying to get a rise out of me at breakfast. That's just how he is. I'll talk to him about this, later, hm? If I didn't have plans for him, he'd already be dead anyway." You nodded against his neck and the grip your hands had on his back tightened. As so very often, you couldn't possibly fathom why he put up with you at all, why he took his time to calm you down and reassure you. He could very well be the worst of the worst, like he was to so many other people; yet he seemed to have the patience and understanding of a Saint with you. It had your mind reeling. "Now, my sweet boy, I know you hate when I ask, but have you hurt yourself before this, today?" Roman asked eventually, his voice a gentle rumble. Once more, you nodded against his neck, inhaling sharply. "I'm sorry," you added quietly. "Why didn't you come to me, hm? I assume it was because of what happened at breakfast. Am I wrong?" "You're not, I'm sorry. I didn't want to interfere. And I didn't want to do it either, I tried not to, I promise. I did everything I could, but I just- broke." "Alright, sweetheart. It's okay. Though, am I remembering this incorrectly or have I really not told you that you could interrupt me and ask for help whenever?" "You've told me, I'm sorry, I know. I didn't want to... embarrass you any further, is all. I'm sorry, Daddy." He loosened his hold around your waist and leaned back, so he could look at you. Reluctantly, you faced him.  He let go of you with one arm completely and took ahold of your arm where you've injured yourself a few hours before. A big, blue and purplish bruise had formed already, taking up most of the space of your inner forearm. Ashamed, you averted your eyes. You should have just gotten him to help you. Then Black Mask lifted your arm to his face, as you felt the cold metal of his zipper press against the bruise. The pressure on it hurt, but it wasn't unbearable or truly painful in a way where you'd want it to stop. In actuality, the mock kiss made you feel warm inside. A small smile stole itself on your face.   You sighed as the warm leather of his mask gently pressed against your arm, as he turned his head to face you. "Will you promise me to get me the next time?" You could feel his jaw move against your arm as he talked, it tickled. "I promise," you whispered, in awe. He lowered your arm again and nudged his masked face against yours, the zipper pressing against your lips. You kissed it. Then again. And again. "I love you, Daddy. I'm really sorry about this whole mess, I didn't mean for any of this to happen." He sighed, "It's alright, sweetheart. I know you haven't done any of this on purpose." Then he let go of you entirely and bent down, picking up your sketchbook from the floor and looked it over. "You drew me," he stated, surprise clear in his voice. "Yeah, I needed to calm down after- well, you know. And I couldn't think of anything else to do, but sitting down and drawing." "And the best thing to draw was me as a child? Taking this horrendous portrait as reference no less. Although, you actually managed to make me look like a child." "Well, uh, I just thought I'd try myself on it, you know? Make it look less gloomy. Well. You. Not that I'd draw your fucking parents. They don't deserve it," you chuckled wryly by the end of it. "They really don't. It looks good, sweetheart. Will you finish it?" You looked at him in surprise, mouth a little slack. "I can try." "Good. I would like to hang it up, when you have." That surprised you even more. "Are you sure?" He just looked at you, and though his face - or rather, what was left of it - wasn't visible, you knew he was shooting you an incredulous look. "Right, okay. Sure, I will try my best, Roman!" "You always do, my boy." He gently placed the sketchbook back on the floor and put his arms around you once more. "Let's go for a walk then, eh? do you have any fic recs for the mentalist?

I told you I’d post some for you tonight and here they are!! Unfortunately I did a lot of reading while I was still obstinately REFUSING to make another ffnet account, so I didn’t save like a good 90% of what I read, some of which was excellent. But here are some of the ones I did +fav or whatever they call it there. No particular genre since your ask was open ended, but, well-

Consummate Connection Confrontation - these are three separate fics in that order by the absolutely inimitable @hardlyloquatious. Literally everything they’ve written is amazing. I’ve completely exposed myself because my first rec is sort of. uh, lightly 18+. But I had to put this author at the top of my list because I love them so much. The way Jane talks in Consummate has literally kept me awake more than once. It’s honestly more sweet and touching than anything but it’s definitely uh. not something your boss should catch you with I guess.

Long Lost, Long Last - same author. This was written and posted before My Blue Heaven aired, but it has the same vibe as that episode, except deliciously drawn out. It starts off with Jane being his kinda silly self and deciding he wants to try his hand at letter writing, so he writes little notes for the whole team. Lisbon is the only one who gives him a note back, and they take to leaving each other lil notes - until RJ is killed and Jane disappears to do some soul searching. This fic is so... beautiful and I think about it with some frequency. “Consummate” is hot but Long Lost Long Last is why HL is my fave TM author.

Practice - okay one last one from this author. This one isn’t like, groundbreaking, but it’s just the SWEETEST look at how much Jane tries after they get together. I’m a sucker for Jane being sweet. Clearly, since that’s why Consummate is at the top of this list.

Blood Red Moon - the author is 221b Baker Street. Their fics are a LOT more heavy. But they’re so, so good. Their mastery of language is incredible and their fics read like professionally written books - and they do Jane/Lisbon banter incredibly well. Some of the imagery they use has genuinely stuck with me. Also see Sacraments in Scarlet (Jane pretends to be a priest), Arsenic and Red Lace (murder at an assisted care facility and Jane being the cheery and extremely sad bastard that he is), Jonathon Redding (a take on Red John that is deeply clever), a Road lEss traveleD (this is. unsettling. it’s extremely good but save it for the last from this author, wait until you love them first. The payoff for not-as-it-seems comes towards the end but it really is worth waiting for).

Blood Wind - by Gone2Far speaking of unsettling. THIS ONE. God this fic is so good. Spooky as fuck in a way that’s a little X-Filesy and incredibly well written. I want to live very far from this fic while at the same time wrapping myself in its words so I can borrow a crumb of talent.

In Case series - @halfagonyandhope (yay, they’re on tumblr). This rec list isn’t necessarily in any sort of order because after HL, halfagonyandhope is second fave author. This particular series is SO ROMANTIC and LOVELY and I kinda wanna cry kinda wanna read it again and again. My favorite one in the series is Ya’aburnee but you have to read the ones preceding it to make any sort of sense. Also now that I’m looking at all of these again I’m realizing that apparently the second installment stuck with me more than I expected because I wrote more than 10k words of something that has a vaguely similar theme (which I will post later). 

Qumran and Reset - by J. Roddam. This author only ever seems to have written these two but they’re fucking EXQUISITE. I generally avoid AUs in this fandom because the concept of erasing Jane’s past does NOT sit right with me but Reset is one of the only exceptions I’ve made. It has soulmate vibes without being like, a tumblr soulmate story. Both of them are living SUCH different lives than their canon counterparts but somehow it actually works and it’s beautiful. Qumran is similarly without peer.

Pretending, I: Witness - @inkstainedfingers97. I wouldn’t even know where to start but I love every single thing about this fic - and it’s recently been completed! I was lucky enough to get to binge read a majority of it but waiting for updates was also genuinely thrilling too. Fake/Real Married for WITSEC reasons, real love for obvious reasons. Also the Lorelei dynamic is way more intense than on the show in a way that’s at once very uncomfortable and very believable.

27 Minutes - by Idan. Okay. Okay so this author commented on one of my fics and I almost lost it because I really love theirs. I was smiling for like an hour when I saw the notification from them!! 27 Min is my favorite one but In The Cards is widely rec’d by others for very good reason, it’s so good. The Pretender is also excellent, written based on promos of Orange Blossom Ice Cream and so a bit AU from there.

Eighteen Hours - I would definitely be remiss if I didn’t mention @leafenclaw (and actually, I was remiss because I realized while making this post that theirs were some of those early fics I read that I never +fave etc, so ty for the ask so I can do it now, anon). Leafenclaw writes SO well and I have an extra soft spot for them because they pointed me in the direction of a lot of fics and were one of the first ppl I ever spoke with in this fandom since luckily they’re on tumblr too. Also Kindred (note - both of these are still WIP but being updated/worked on!) Chasing Storms is complete, incredible, angsty, beautiful. Also I kind of want to borrow the idea of writing one story around a set of many prompts like this. I don’t actually think I’ve ever seen anyone else do that?

The Long Way Back - by LouiseKurylo I consider them sort of a friend because they’ve been SO supportive while I was writing  Saving Grace but even before that with a new suit, another pair of socks, and a terrible couch. And I’ve seen them supporting everybody else too - they’re just SO NICE. Their fics are also very interesting, and they sort of bring Jane and Lisbon much more into the real world. There’s more real life problems to go hand in hand with mentalist plot type problems, which makes for very interesting reading. Fischer in this particular fic is FASCINATING. Also, a hot tip @leafenclaw shared with me: Louise’s faves list has 500 stories in it and pretty much everything in there is worth reading.

Last but OBVIOUSLY not least I wanna mention some of the very cute and talented and actively posting people here on tumblr in our little mentalist squad of approximately 12 people lmao. You probably already know @gracevanpelt aka LilyThistle’s Big Blue, Red Road, Breathe, and Collusion. I have an especially soft spot for Breathe actually even though it’s the least plotty of the lot. I just think it works so perfectly on its own, as is, like a quiet little interlude. No muss no fuss as Jane would say - and I love it a lot. @asambergs aka cmbing’s how glad i am that you exist is actually the FIRST piece of Mentalist fic I ever read, and then I was pulled down this slippery slope to end up posting this at 11:52 pm on a Thursday night. And I’m not about to forget @pjane aka epaynter whose words are so beautifully atmospheric and who writes the softest Jane (I love Soft Jane and will fight anyone who disagrees about it!!)

Of all the places you thought you’d be spending your Friday night, sitting in the office of a BDSM club owner, discussing SSC and setting up your membership, was not one of them. But here you are, sitting in the office of a BDSM club owner, going through the terms and conditions of your membership.

Jung Hoseok smiles at you before handing you a gold pen. The man looks immaculate in his double breasted gray suit, not a crease in sight. Despite his smile, there’s a dangerous aura to him. One of complete and utter control.

“Sign here, here, and here. It’s very important that you respect these rules, for everyone’s safety. We also insist that first timers stick to observation during their first visit. Wear this.” He says, putting down a red bracelet on the desk before you. “Then other customers will know not to propose you. You can also choose to wear this bracelet whenever you feel like just watching from the sidelines.” You hand him back the membership contract after you’ve finished signing on all the proper lines, and he examines your signature before nodding in approval. “There’s a bar at everyone’s disposal, but we don’t allow heavy alcohol consumption, since we prioritize clear consent.”

The nameplate on the desk with 'Jung Hoseok - Headmaster' engraved in cursive makes you feel like you’re back in high school. Except this is not high school, and sitting on the other side of the desk is a successful attractive young man, not a bald idiot.

“There’s some private rooms to everyone’s disposition, which you can either reserve in advance or the same night depending on the availability. We have one room for people who like to have an audience, which we call the Window Room.” 

You nod along with him, a little overwhelmed by all the information. He smiles reassuringly at you, noticing your deer in the headlights look. It feels more predatory than anything else.

“There's single mixers every last Thursday of each month, open to the BDSM community, and sometimes there’s special events, themed nights or performances, which are posted on the website. Any questions?”

You shake your head, feeling so far out of your element, sitting in this chair, about to enter a whole new world you’ve been fantasizing about but never dared to seek out.

It took your best friend, Taehyung, digging a little too deep in your closet for one of your blouses and finding your box of accessories and outfit. You had flushed a deep red in embarrassment at having your secret exposed, but your friend had been quick to reassure you there was nothing to be embarrassed about. 

Then he’d shocked you into admitting he had a similar interest.

“You asked me once why I have a leash at home when I don’t own a dog.” He had said, shrugging one shoulder, and that had been an eye opening moment for you.

And then, after revealing you’d never shared with anyone your interest for all things leather, whip and power dynamic, he had talked to you about this club.

“It’s called Club Dionysus. It’s for people interested in BDSM. There are spaces reserved for scenes, but you can also just chill at the bar and observe. It could be good for you, to explore this side of you, you know? Without any pressure to participate in anything.”

A few days later, after a hellish week of dealing with your tyrannic boss, distracting yourself with a new experience seemed like an excellent idea.

The corset is hugging your body just right, your sheer stockings held in place by some garter and disappearing into your leather pencil skirt. The heels you have on would never be appropriate for a setting other than this one, making you feel like there’s power to each of your steps.

It’s definitely not the kinkiest outfit you own, but you chose to keep it tame for you first visit.

Taehyung is waiting just outside the door as Hoseok dismisses you from his office, wishing you an excellent time. He steers you toward the bar area, but that doesn’t stop you from mapping out the place. You had sneaked a peak at the club before being ushered into the Headmaster’s office, but it’s still a lot to take in once you’re finally free to let your eyes roam around.

The general theme colour seems to be dark palettes, dark wood details, and a little touch of red here and there, but definitely less than you were expecting. There’s the bar corner, which looks like any other club, save maybe for the bartender’s outfit. There’s some tables and then an open space, but it doesn’t seem to be for dancing, judging from the handcuffs hanging from the ceiling.

“For public punishment.” Taehyung specifies once he sees what you zeroed on.

You try to act unaffected, but it’s definitely going to stay in the back of your mind.

There’s a hallway that leads to a few closed doors, some with signs on them. It’s probably safe to assume these are “occupied” signs. Then there's a corner with a small stage, where those performances Hoseok mentioned probably take place. A Saint Andrew’s cross is placed on it, which you were kind of expecting, coming here.

Then, there’s a ceiling to floor window, giving into a darkened room.

You leave Taehyung at the bar waiting for you drinks, curious about what is standing on the other side. The room is dark, so you need to stick your face to the glass and shield your eyes from the light to see anything beyond the window.

You see some outlines, but you can’t make out exactly what’s in there, other than some dark furniture. You push your face even closer, tightening the shield around your eyes.

“You’re allowed to peak inside through the door, you know.” Someone says from behind you, startling you from how close they sound.

Your body seizes up in fight or flight response, survival instinct kicking in at the familiar voice. You know it so well; Too well. It follows you all day long, barking orders left and right, calling you at all hours to add to your workload. And then it wakes you up in the middle of the night, most of the time from stress nightmares.

Most of the time.

You deliberate about turning around and facing the most humiliating moment of your life, or just going straight for the exit without turning back. There isn't a lot of patrons in the bar right now, so the path to the door is probably clear. The only problem is that your feet are grounded to the floor, your heels feeling like they're suddenly made of concrete.

There's a little voice in the back of your mind whispering something that resemble 'Don't forget he's here too', but right now all you’re able to focus on is the presence you can feel, hovering over your shoulder. 

That's probably what describes best your relationship, him hovering over your shoulder.

Kim Namjoon has been breathing down your back since the first day you started working as his personal assistant, making your every waking moment a living hell. Go figure he would be doing it here too.

You brace yourself for his usual cold demeanour. You're persuaded this man hates you, always bossing you around and criticizing your every move.

You aren’t expecting the soft grin pulling at the corner of his lips. 

Neither are you expecting… everything else.

Gone is his everyday slicked back hairstyle, his silver hair coiffed into a more relaxed, swoop to the side look. He’s wearing this black satin blouse with see through sleeves and leather jeans, which is already a lot to compute, quite different from the suit you’re used to seeing him in. What makes your brain short circuit though, is the harness. 

A leather belt cinches his slim waist, two leather straps attached to it, running over his strong shoulders. There’s two leather cuff on each of his wrist, over the sleeves ends, and the harness look is completed by a simple black choker, looking stark against Namjoon’s neck.

You feel your mouth go dry, your breathing getting a little short and heart beating a little faster. 

All because of the stress of meeting your boss here, of course. No other reason at all.

“Hello sir.” You say, finally finding your voice. Your head is in a state of chaos, your brain on a loop of everything going on with Namjoon’s outfit. 

“Rule #6 if I remember correctly; Relationships and dynamic with people you might know outside of these walls do not apply inside Club Dionysus.” Namjoon recites, eyes on your red bracelet. He takes a very small step back that doesn’t do anything for the lack of space between you. 

You would feel caged in, except he has his hands in his back.

You’re not exactly sure why he’s telling you that, although you vaguely remember Jung Hoseok mentioning this earlier. The confusion must show on your face, because Namjoon carries on.

“You don’t need to address me as sir here.” He says, his smile turning sharper. “That is… unless we’ve previously agreed upon that.” 

Oh. Oh.

There’s something happening here. A shift in the air. A glint in his eyes. 

You swallow, and it sounds ten times louder than usual, despite the soft background music.

“I- hm. Interesting.” You’ve probably never sounded so dumb, but you can’t think over the sirens going off in your head.

This is a weird situation. Something you were not expecting, not in a million years. And how could you?

“Ehrm, I see. Should I call you Mr.Kim then?”

“If you wish to.” He says, looking particularly amused by your awkwardness.

Which, rude. This is a stressful place to meet your boss, how dare he.

“If I wish to, huh? So, I could choose to call you anything I’d like?” You can’t stop the slight flare of temper, not liking being made fun off. If he wants you to treat him as an equal, then treat him as an equal you will.

Namjoon nods once, his tongue quickly wetting his lips before adding, “Of course I will need to agree to it beforehand.”

You catch Taehyung from the corner of your eyes, waving at you from the bar with a question mark on his face. Namjoon follows your line of sight, focusing on your friend and frowning.

“Would you agree to being called ‘baby boy’, then?” you taunt, standing straighter than you have so far. 

He snaps his attention back to you, looking taken aback by the switch of demeanor.

You can’t stop your mind from conjuring the memory of those dreams, the one that wake you up in the middle of the night. Blurs of a long body tied to a bed, a diamond choker sparkling on his neck, a voice, usually hard, sounding soft and whimpery.

The wide eyed look Namjoon is giving you is pretty close to the one you usually see on his face during those short nighttime visits. 

“I-” He says, but stops, looking flustered. You feel a growing satisfaction at having reversed the roles.

The novelty of the situation, that left you feeling unsteady, is starting to subside, leaving you sure footed in your stilettos. 

You purse your lips, cocking a brow.

“Only if you agree, of course.”

You see his throat work, making his choker shift as he swallows once, then twice.

“I’m sure you’ve noticed I’m not allowed to take part in the events tonight,” You say, showing off your bracelet. “so I guess we should keep this discussion for next time.” You side step him, never breaking eye contact.

“After all, we need to talk about what you’re going to call me, too.” 

“In fact,” He finally says after a moment of silence, his earlier confidence replaced by something more tentative. “we should discuss it in great detail.” He finishes.

You smile in lieu of a response, before giving one last appreciative look to his attire, lingering on the black choker. You feel his eyes on you as you make your way back to the bar, already looking forward to next Friday.

13. Favorite boss? Some of my faves: Koloktos from Zelda: Skyward Sword; Phalanx from Shadow of the Colossus; also really liked the Rafe fight in Uncharted 4 because of the “pirate” theme

24. Have you cried over a game? Ohhh yes haha. I get emotionally invested in story and character relatively easy. The ones I can think of that really got to me the most (more than just a few tears), are the walking dead game season 1 and rakuen.

Holding His Child for the First Time [Hyunwoo, Hoseok, and Minhyuk]

Hyunwoo

By the time Hyunwoo returned to Seoul, Melly was already five months in and carrying a bump. Returning home so late in the pregnancy was one of Hyunwoo’s biggest regrets. When he returned home, he spoke to his boss and told him that for the rest of Melly’s pregnancy he wanted to be in Seoul which his boss graciously agreed to.

For the remainder of Melly’s pregnancy, Hyunwoo was there. He went to each doctor appointment and updated on his own personal Instagram he set up to keep the fans updated on his growing family.

As the months turned to weeks, the two were over the moon as they grew closer to the birth of their son. Melly was preparing dinner with Hyunwoo by her side to grab anything he deemed too heavy or too high for her to get. She felt a popping sensation and a slow trickle of water and she froze.

Hyunwoo looked back at her in alarm, “What’s wrong?”

“My water… I think it broke.” The two looked at one another before they broke into smiles. “Minsoo is coming!” She squealed.

Hyunwoo felt like he was on a high as he thought of his son entering the world at last. “He’s coming!” He replied. Then his smile fell as he thought, “He’s coming… We need to get to the hospital!” He began to panic as he rushed through the kitchen, “Where’s my keys… did we already pack the over night bags– did I finish the bedroom?”

Melly squeezed her eyes shut as her lips tightened in a straight line, “Babe, you gotta calm down.” She took his hands to calm him, “The bag is in the closet and your keys and wallet are on your nightstand.” She was a bundle of nerves, but she held herself together to make sure her husband didn’t work him up to the point he passed out.

Hyunwoo nodded numbly as he raced off to get the items before he took Melly out to the car. As he drove them to the hospital, Hyunwoo refused to let go of Melly’s hand.

It would be another 16 hours before Minsoo entered the world. After he was cleaned and wrapped up, the nurse handed him to Melly.

Hyunwoo was beside her and rubbed her arm, “You did so good, babe.”

Melly gave him a tired smile before she looked back down at their son who was fast asleep, “Did he not get enough sleep these last nine months?” She teased. Minsoo’s finger held on to his mom’s. Her eyes grew heavy as she reclined back on the upright bed.

Hyunwoo kissed her forehead and took Minsoo from her arms, “You get some rest, love. I’ll watch over him.” Melly mumbled a reply before she fell asleep. Hyunwoo walked about slowly and bounced Minsoo in his arms. Holding Minsoo felt so surreal. For the past seven months Hyunwoo had only dreamed of holding his son and now here he was. A mere 6 pound 4 ounces bundle of joy. He couldn’t stop smiling down at their precious son that they created. As he went to sit down, reached up to fix Minsoo’s blanket and that’s when Minsoo’s tiny fingers wrapped around his index finger. The dramatic size difference made Hyunwoo’s mouth widen as he looked at how tiny Minsoo’s hand was to his finger. He looked at Minsoo who’s bright brown eyes stared back at him. “Well” he smiled softly at his son, “hi there sunshine. Why couldn’t you wake up when mommy was holding you? Were you too comfortable in her arms?” he cooed. His eyes stung as he ran his hand on Minsoo’s head, “We’re so happy you’re here, baby… I think we fell at love at first sight.” Hyunwoo would just talk to Minsoo as he held him getting out everything he wanted to say to him.

Hoseok

Alisha stared at herself in the mirror as her arms fell to her eight month bump. She couldn’t believe how much time had passed since she found out she was pregnant. So many things happened during the duration of the pregnancy that she felt like she would wake up and find it was all a dream.

Hoseok walked up behind her and placed his hands on her baby bump, “Good morning, wife.”

Alisha’s heart raced at the new title she received a week ago. A smile graced her lips as she looked at Hoseok through the mirror, “Morning, husband.” Both jumped when they felt a kick where their hand rested. Alisha giggled, “Good morning to you too, Jinhee.”

“She’s jealous we didn’t greet her. She sounds like you already” Hoseok kissed Alisha real quick. “I have to go, but I’ll see you tonight.”

“We’ll be here.” Alisha watched him leave the room. Hoseok wasn’t able to leave the house as Alisha felt the pop of her water. “Uh… Hoseok!” He ran back in hearing the sudden alarm in her voice. She met his eyes and gave him an awkward smile, “You think you can call out from work?”

“What’s wrong?”

“She decided she’s coming today…”

During the delivery, Hoseok was beside Alisha holding her hand as she cried out in pain. He kissed her hand and whispered words of encouragement until he heard Jinhee’s first cries. He couldn’t stop smiling widely when he saw the nurse take Jinhee to clean her off. “You did it” he whispered to Alisha who was panting with a weak smile. “I love you.”

After cleaning Jinhee up and situating Alisha and Hoseok, the nurse handed Jinhee to Alisha. She made room on the bed for Hoseok just as the family came in two at a time. When Alisha handed Jinhee to Hoseok, she could see the love in his eyes.

Alisha’s parents took a lot of photos of the family of three without them noticing.. Both were so mesmerized by their daughter. Hoseok took photos and sent them to the guys who informed the fans of the successful birth of Jinhee. Jinhee smiled as she  which made her parents copy her.

“She has your smile” Alisha whispered as Jinhee’s eyes began to drift shut while Hoseok held her in his arms.

Hoseok looked at Alisha and kissed her, “She has your beauty.” He whispered back before he kissed her again.

Minhyuk

Bailey was happy to have Minhyuk with her as an active part of the pregnancy. It was different from the first time around. He was there for every doctor appointment, he helped with the baby shopping, and he set up the entire nursery furniture on his own. Minhyuk only let Bailey decorate the jungle forest theme nursery.

Bailey was his angel and after the trials she went through after the first failed pregnancy, Minhyuk did everything he could to support her. As the Bailey entered the last month of her pregnancy, Minhyuk grew more excited that after three years, they would finally have their own little family that they had only dreamed of having. He was ready for his little sunshine, Hyeonseo, to enter the world as was Bailey.

Though Minhyuk was against the idea, Bailey decided to attend a Monsta X concert. It was the last leg of their promotional concert and Bailey had always made sure to attend them. Minhyuk kept her backstage in fear that the crowds would shove her by accident or the loud music would hurt her ears.

Bailey was backstage swaying to Calm Down, when she felt water trickle down her leg. She froze as she looked down to see a clear liquid descending her leg. One of their managers noticed her shocked expression and rushed to her side. “I think my water broke.” His eyes widened as he looked back and forth from the stage to Bailey. He didn’t waste more time as he shouted for the music to stop and he took off on stage.

The guys gathered in the middle of the stage in confusion as their manager approached Minhyuk and told him about Bailey. Minhyuk was jumping in place as he listened to the manager. “I have to go! I’m sorry!” His lips pulled into a grin as he ran backstage to Bailey. He didn’t care about the mic and stage outfit he was in, “Come on, let’s go bring our daughter home.” He led Bailey out to the van where a manager was prepared to take them to the hospital.

It was another 19 hours before she was fully dilated. Minhyuk long changed out of his stage clothes and rid of the mic. As they prepped Bailey for the delivery, Minhyuk took his place beside her. She let out a weird half cry half groan as another contraction hit her. She held his hand to try to relieve the pain. “It’s okay. Just squeeze my hand, babe.” The nurse proceeded to lead Bailey through the delivery with Minhyuk by her side. She squeezed his hand each time she had to push.  

While Bailey slept, Minhyuk held Hyeonseo in his arms. He had kissed her head more times than he could count as he took in her beautiful fave. His eyes watered as he touched her soft cheek, “Our little sunshine…” Hyeonseo grasped his finger and he broke. The tears he held back fell, “Thank you for coming home to us… You’re such a beautiful little girl.” He watched how her eyes slowly shut, but her smile remained on her face and his heart swelled. Minhyuk looked up to his sleeping wife, “You did great, babe” he whispered though he knew she couldn’t hear him. He couldn’t ask for anything more. His little family was all the perfection he wanted or needed in his life.
