You're more amazing than overthinking
I'm watching the new Scott Pilgrim anime and I love the chaotic nature of it. The show is mostly grounded in reality but sometimes for example a bookshelf full of movies falls onto two characters in the middle of a fight and then it cuts to them fighting inside the movie and this isn't treated as weird or remarked upon in any way it just happens.
#asks#i want to embody that energy and style#obviously that kind of stuff doesn't work everywhere but it DOES here#also some of the characters have powers but some don't and when they fight it's still pretty evenly matched#one guy was shooting energy blasts and summoning stuff and the other was just keeping up with punches and weapons#i didn't even notice until the end that the other guy never used any powers#there haven't been many fights so far but only 1 character out of 4 who have fought (properly) has had powers

On the rise
Another one for the Shipweek! Wings Au! Lets go!
Here's: [Ao3]
“Heads up!”
Someone called just as a blinding blast of magic shot out from Danny's right. He dodged, with only inches between him and the orange energy. Shooting in that direction without looking to see if he hit, Danny dove for another cultist just as he was about to fire off a spell at Aqualad. He kicked out, his leg connecting with the guy's neck and throwing him to the ground, his head connecting with the concrete floor in a satisfying thwack.
One more cultist down, over two dozen left to go.
Did Danny ever mention that he hated cultists?
He went for another dive attack, swooping in with his fist and connecting somewhere on the guy’s upper body before launching himself back out of range of their close range spells. Dodging more blasts and providing arial support when needed, Danny groused to himself about how he had gotten into this. He wasn’t expecting cults when he was called in for this mission. He didn’t know what he was expecting exactly, but they had more magically inclined people as backup for the Team than him, so why was he here? Where was Zatanna when you needed her? Why couldn’t this just be a ghost he could take care of easily? Why him?
A blast glanced the back of his shoulder as he came out of a barrel roll, searing his suit and knocking him off course. He clutched at his shoulder in pain as he looked back to see which sorry sonuva bitch was about to get decked, only to see Robin was already taking care of them.
Good, let Robin handle that idiot.
Kid Flash and Superboy were playing keep-away with the books and artifacts the cult needed to perform whatever asinine ritual they were about to start before they dropped in while he, Robin, Artemis, and Aqualad were on round up. Miss Martian was making sure no one left or entered the area, just in case there were other cult members in other parts of the old hotel they found themselves in.
Seriously, why do cultists find only the creepiest, most abandoned places to do their summoning rituals? Why couldn’t they- Another blast of magic nearly blew through his tail, cutting his thoughts off. Danny growled and shot the guy that had tried shooting him. Not the time to get in your own head, Fenton, focus.
Artemis sent a volley of trick arrows from her perch on one of the rafters, downing more than a few of the remaining cultists.
Only a few more to go.
With one last push the last of the cultists were down. A quick check in with M’gann told them that she was all clear at her position, so they started to drag the unconscious bodies to zip tie them together for later pick up. They could finally relax.
Danny let out a breath as he floated down to the concrete floor, watching as Aqualad and Robin started dragging a few goons into a loose circle close to their nearly completed summoning sigil before picking a few of his own up to join them. KF came out of his red streak as he slowed down, not even out of breath, and Kon began hauling two of the cult members he had body checked away towards the growing circle of bodies.
“Well that was fun,” Danny commented out loud, trying to keep the communication to where he could hear it. While he did link up via telepathy for stealth, he didn’t really like others going through his head. It also made it easier for M’gann to focus when they were in a fight, something about his biology being harder to filter through. Thank the Ancients for that.
“Y’know, I don’t think Gar will be too sad he missed out on this mission,” KF commented as he flipped through the contents of the tome he was tasked to guard. “All we did was beat up some guys, there wasn't even a time crunch. We got here just before they started any of the fun stuff.”
Robin scoffed good naturedly, “So you’re saying you would rather come face to face with a terrifying being from beyond our understanding?”
“I mean, it would make things more interesting. It's been boring with no missions to go on, and I didn't even get warmed up from this."
"Careful KF," Danny smirked. "Or you're gonna start pouting from all this whining"
Kid Flash shot him a scandalized look, which only made his pout more prominent and sent everyone looking into a fit of laughter.
A soft hum took Danny out of his laughing fit earlier than the others, and he turned to see Connor inspecting the statue he was asked to guard. As he floated closer he could see the statuette in more detail; over six pairs of wings centered around the body of a bird, warped and elongated to fit its limbs, with a long neck ending in a goose head. It looked like something out of Greek mythology, but for all Pandora’s lessons on their culture, Danny couldn't place what it was.
“Whatcha looking at SB?” He asked as he floated over his shoulder to get a look at what Connor was looking at. The teen of steel startled, for once not hearing someone approach with his super hearing. He shot a glare at the ghost boy before going back to inspecting the base of the statuette.
“There are words on the bottom of this thing,” he explained, pointing to the etchings on the underside of the base. “They're faint, but I think I can make them out.”
Danny peered at where he pointed, indeed finding the faint markings. Curiously though, they weren’t in english. “Y’know these are in greek, right?”
Connor blushed faintly, keeping his eyes on the statuette in his hands. “I’ve been reading up in between your lessons,” he muttered.
Danny smiled, it had been a while since they had started their language lessons. In the beginning he had almost thought it was a ploy from the rest of the team to keep him around more often, but Connor had asked him to keep the lessons a secret from everyone else, saying he wanted to try something new on his own, without their help. He did surprisingly well with languages, as they came to learn, and were currently going through both ancient and modern Greek pretty quickly. It also helped Danny, as he found he was able to learn better when he taught.
Danny brushed his thoughts aside for the moment, looking back at the small statue in the clone’s hands. There was a name, along with a few other words that had long faded into the stone.
“An… Acan…” Danny figured out the name a second before Connor, but wasn’t fast enough to stop him from saying it. “Acanthus?”
A blinding light erupted from the statuette, flinging Danny back from Connor and blinding everyone else in the room. Danny could hear the surprised cries from the others from where he had impacted against the wall, but couldn’t move until the light died.
Ancients, please let nothing bad happen to Connor. He was just getting the courage up to ask him out.
As the light died and the spots cleared from Danny’s eyes, he could start to make out the silhouettes of the team, most of them had crouched or crumpled to the ground due to the sudden bright light, but Connor was still standing. There was something off about him though, and Danny had to squint and blink away the after images.
Danny quickly lunged forward as Connor flailed, the newfound weight on his back throwing off his center of gravity and tipping him backwards. He caught him just before the clone could hit the ground, grabbing him by the shoulders and putting him gently back on his feet.
“Woah,” Connor mumbled at the sudden elevation shifts and totally not at how easily Danny could sweep him off his feet. No, that was just Danny imagining things about him. He should really stop doing that.
The other members of the team had gotten back on their feet by now, cautiously approaching the clone and the ghost boy as Danny checked out the reason for Superboy’s new balancing issues.
‘Damn, these might be bigger than mine,’ he thought as he looked over the two large wings now sprouting from Connors back, just below his shoulder blades. They were large, ash grey on the outside and white mottled with more grey on the inside. Danny had to reposition how they were sitting on his back or the primary feathers would drag on the floor.
“Superboy, what the hell did you do‽” Robin shouted at the now feathered clone, who scowled at the approaching Boy Wonder.
“Nothing,” he replied sharply, crossing his arms defensively even as the blush of being practically held up by Danny was still present.
“Well clearly that's a lie,” Wally retorted. “Last time I checked SB, you didn’t have massive bird wings coming out of your back.”
Connor shot Wally a heated glare that quickly let into a surprised squawk as Danny lifted one wing to see how far it extended. He turned his head to look at the ghost boy stretching the new appendage, unable to turn fully with the wing still in the other's grip.
They watched as the ghost boy moved and tested the wing, pulling lightly at the primary feathers, moving to test the full range of the wing, then collapsing it as close to Connor’s body as it could go. When he looked done with his examination Robin spoke up. “Uhhhh, Phantom, what are you doing?”
Danny snapped to attention, before meeting the others curious gazes. “Ope, uh… Sorry,” He reached up to scratch the back of his neck, not realizing he had let go until he was almost hit by a flailing Connor and swiftly put his hands back. “I was just curious about them. You don’t see wings like this in the Realms often, so I wanted to see how they compared.”
“Curious?”
“Compare?”
“You've seen something similar to this, Phantom?” Kaldur asked the ghost boy.
“Uhh, yeah?” Danny went to scratch his neck again, this time making sure he kept one hand on Connor to help him balance. “Some ghosts in the Realms have them as like, physical manifestations of what they used to like?” He still hasn't told the team about Obsessions, so while he wasn’t lying it wasn’t the whole truth.
“So you know of some way to reverse this, then?” He pressed, to which Danny shook his head fervently.
“Nope, nu-uh. This isn’t ghost stuff, this is magic stuff. I wouldn’t be able to tell you the first thing about getting rid of these, just how to take care of them.”
The rest of the team looked between themselves, unsure of how to proceed. Even Connor was starting to look uncomfortable with the situation. Danny was sure there was some telepathic conversation he wasn’t in on happening, but right now he was just trying to keep the teen in his arms upright.
Finally, Robin sighed. “Do you have any idea on how this happened in the first place, at least?”
He nodded, motioning to the statuette on the floor as he spoke, “Nearest I can figure is that when Superboy spoke the name of the god on the statue it reacted like a word of power to the surrounding magic. It ended up invoking a portion of the gods' power and this happened.”
Robin nodded, crouching to pick the statuette up and store it in a side pouch. He then turned for the nearest exit. “C’mon, M’gann already has the bioship ready and waiting. We’ll figure out how to get superboy back to normal when we get back to the cave.”
~~~~~
“So how do you know how to take care of them?” Wally broke the silence of the bioship on their way back.
Huh?” Danny turned in his seat, before looking back out the window. “Oh, right. It was a pain when I couldn’t hide mine when I first got them, so I had Frostbite introduce someone to help me take care of mine.”
A beat of silence, then the bioship erupted in questions.
~~~~~
By the time the team had gotten back to the cave, each of them had asked at least a dozen questions each, and Danny very much regretted answering Wally. He’d been able to stall for time in bringing out his wings by saying that there wasn't enough room in the bioship for two winged people, even though Robin pointed out how he could’ve just phased what couldn’t fit outside.
Danny didn’t want to freak the bioship out like that again, and he said as much.
As soon as the drop hatch lowered Wally ran into the common room, saying something about needing the others to see what was about to happen. Floating down, Danny almost wanted to disappear, were it not for Connor still needing help in balancing. Danny had told him the best way to manage the weight, but without visuals he was forgetting and accidentally tipping back as he walked, leaving Danny to catch him and reposition him as needed.
Seems even super strength couldn’t help with this kind of weight.
They made it to the common room where Danny managed to position Connor on the couch before Wally came rushing back, now changed out of his costume and with Garfield right behind him. Zatanna would be out for at least another day, leaving their main magic specialist indisposed.
Great.
“C’mon, Phantom! Show us those flappers already!” Wally cajoled, making Phantom flinch from where he was about to float off.
Danny dropped to the ground, sighing in his failed attempt at escape. Moving over to the more open section of room, Danny turned to face the couches, arms spread as he dropped the invisibility on his wings. A round of gasps came from the group as pitch black wings speckled with white spread out from behind the ghost, the white specks glowing even brighter than his usual glow making them look almost like stars in the night sky.
“Holy-”
“Beautiful!”
“How does that even work‽”
“Impressive.”
“Alright, you’ve seen them. Can I go now?” Danny asks the crowd, folding his wings in so the bend of the wings sat next to his shoulders, keeping his wingtips off the ground and crossing.
“You seem very used to them,” Robin pointed out from behind Danny, startling him to turn and glare at the Boy Wonder as he inspected his wings from behind. Did Danny detect a smidge of awe in those microexpressions?
Must be his imagination again.
“I mean, yeah,” Danny conceded with a half shrug, keeping the mini-bat in his field of view. “They formed a while ago, before I came on as auxiliary for the Team, so I’ve had time to get used to them.”
“And you never told us or showed them to us before, why?”
“Because they’re useless in combat and I don’t need them to fly? Even if I can use them, they’re really only a help for flight in the Zone, and since I’m an earthbound ghost…” He made a ‘there you go’ gesture, figuring the others could complete the statement themselves.
Robin sighed exasperatedly behind him, moving so Danny had to switch which shoulder he was looking at him over.
“Is there nothing you can't do?” The Boy Wonder asked as he crouched down.
Danny snorted, “Can’t pass a math exam to save my life,” he joked.
Gar piped up from his place on the couch, “But you’re dead?”
“Exactly,” Danny smirked, finger gunning at the shapeshifter. He was pleased to be met with one snicker and a resounding round of groans. They had finally got used to his dead jokes. Good.
Something light brushed against one of his feathers from where Robin had crouched and he hastily moved his wing out of reach, startled.
“The hell are you doing?” He asked shrilly, finally turning to face the detective.
The Boy Wonder stood, masked scrunched as he examined the clean slice on the tip of his glove. “Your wings, they’re sharp?”
“Very,” he backed up a step, making his wings intangible again just in case the bird brain went in again for another touch.
Which he did.
“What kind of bird has sharp wings?” Garfield piped up from behind him, tone ever curious.
“A ghost bird,” Danny rolled his eyes, quickly becoming gone with this conversation and being stared at like some sort of sideshow attraction. Unfortunately his little quip only got Gar more interested.
“There are ghost birds‽” The shapeshifter nearly shrieked with excitement, and Danny realized that any chance of him going home tonight just went out the window. Ancients, what did he do to deserve this?
With a droop of his shoulders he faced the young shapeshifter. “Yes? Sort of? It's hard to explain. Can I at least put my wings back?”
“No,” Connor stated from his place on the couch. “If I have to suffer, so do you. ‘Least yours look nice, mine look like I got covered in mud.” He let that last bit out with a grumble, almost incomprehensible if not for Danny's hearing. The insinuation that Connor liked his wings made his face frost over slightly with blush.
Hastily Danny cleared his throat and moved his legs to sit crossed-legged in the air, looking back to Gar and his expectant stare.
“So, y’know those old myths about things like unicorns and the Minotaur and all that?” A quick round of nods from the group on the couches. “Well they’re all actually real. Not really sure about the history of them, haven’t gotten that far in my history lessons, but the gist is that either monsters were mortal realm creatures that were all eventually hunted to extinction from the myths, or they were born ghosts that went to the mortal realm because the veil between worlds was much thinner back then.”
“And how does that tie into you having sharp wings?” Wally asks in between mouthfuls of chips. When did he get chips?
“We- that is, me and my friend-slash-doctor Frostbite- found that my wings have similar qualities to the myth of the Stymphalian birds, a greek legend about birds with wings, talons and beaks made of bronze that like to terrorize the villages around the swamp they were named after. It's pretty much the only relation, ‘cause the wing shapes are different, but myths have never been a hundred per-cent accurate to begin with.”
Robin rounded into Danny’s view, a ‘I must know more about this’ look on his face. ‘This is going to take a while,’ the ghost boy thought to himself as he got comfy where he was floating, taking questions about the ghost zone from the curious group of teens he’d found himself a part of. Eyes every so often trailing back to Connor, who was looking at him like he did during one of their private lessons.
That same look that always gave him blobs in his stomach and frosted his cheeks. He hoped Connor didn't notice his core metaphorically melting over it.
~~~~~
When ‘late’ finally became ‘too late’ and Danny had answered everyone's questions (To the best of his ability, some got a little too close to things he wasn’t ready to talk about yet) the team finally meandered off to their rooms for sleep, leaving just Danny and Connor in the living room. Danny because he didn’t really need to sleep (as far as they knew) and Connor because he couldn’t get off the couch by himself. Not that he seemed all that adamant about getting up, and Danny enjoyed the newfound silence.
Floating around on his stomach in the now dim light Danny found himself lazily using his wings to steer and row himself around, flipping to kick himself off walls when needed and half listening to what Connor had put on the TV to relax.
“Hey, Danny,” Connor called up to him just as he flip kicked off another wall. Angling for his descent he gave an acknowledging hum in response.
“Why are you still here?” The clone asked when they were back within regular talking distance.
“Why aren’t you going back to your room yet?” He responded, question for question.
Connor looked to his lap, stern expression softening ever so slightly and Danny could almost see him worrying his lip (though he could have been imagining it, probably. The light the Tv was casting was doing fun things to the shadows of those strong cheekbones). Seeing the gears turn in the other teens head, he decided to settle himself down on the loveseat and finally think a little.
First thought was about what kind of bird those wings could belong to. They were strong looking, but shorter than his own, so probably meant for shorter flying, but the range of flexibility was impressive. Some sort of raptor maybe? It would make sense for a bird of prey to need good reflexes to change the direction of flight while hunting.
Connor was definitely deadly enough to be a bird of prey- nope. No, bad Danny! We don’t think about things like that! We don’t even know if he likes you like that!
… But Ancients, the hugs he could give-
“I was wondering…” Danny snapped out of his daze, eyes shooting up from where they had rested so he could admire the other teens arms. Was it just the light, or was Connor blushing?
“Could you teach me to use these?” He finished the sentence slowly, like he was afraid Danny would ever say no to him. A smile crept onto his face as an idea popped into his head, something he couldn’t mess up if he tried and would (hopefully) keep him in the mood too much to try and back out.
“‘Course I can, Connor! You wanna start now?” The clone turned to meet his gaze with an incredulous look.
“Now?”
“Mmhm!”
They stared at each other, and for a second Danny was worried Con would say no. To his slight relief he got a shrug as the other teen turned the TV off. Danny was pretty sure his glow got twice as bright as he zipped over to grab the clone's hands and drag him off the couch.
Maybe he got a little too excited as he flew through the cave and through the nearest outer wall, feathered clone still in hand and no doubt restraining some sort of embarrassing noise.
~~~~~
“Phantom, this really isn’t what I meant by this!” Connor shouted over the wind as they soared over Happy Harbor’s coast. Danny looked down to see the mildly startled face of the clone in his hands with a grin that hinted he was about to do something stupid and/or dangerous.
“Extend your wings Connor!” Danny called back, untwisting his arms so he was now flying backwards and pulling the clone along with him, extending his own wings intangibly as demonstration.
Shakily, Connor did as demonstrated, and Danny felt the moment his wings caught the air with a sharp pull of their joined hands. Rather than keep hold like Connor probably hoped he would do, Danny instead phased out of the other steel grip, leaving Connor to flounder his arms about for purchase as his wings froze. Panic set in on his face as he thought he would fall, and screwed his eyes shut to wait for the impact to hit.
“Connor,” Danny coaxed gently, prompting the taller boy to open his eyes as they did not, in fact, start plummeting toward the beach below. The clone didn’t budge, keeping his eyes shut and his wings stiffly outstretched. With a sigh, Danny positioned himself underneath and facing his crush in the air, admiring the view of the Harbor below them and the way the wind tousled Connors wings as they flew and the strong shoulders those wings sprang from and the blue eyes looking back at him-
A chill bloomed across his face to the tips of his ears, unrelated to the cool air keeping the clone aloft above him as they held each other's gaze. This close Danny was sure the red that bloomed over Connors face wasn’t just a trich of the light, and his core gave a trill at the thought of all those other imagined times possibly not being just his imagination.
“I’m flying,” Connor commented, breaking both out of their trance. The frost on Danny's face flared as he finally looked away.
“Ah, uh-huh! Yup! Totally flying all on your own!” He stuttered, voice a smidge higher than he personally thought acceptable. Danny tried to clear his throat exaggeratedly, but his voice still betrayed him and came out slightly squeaky, “Though you might wanna relax yourself, you don’t want to get wing cramps.”
The teen above him kept his eyes on Danny, but did as told and relaxed his posture, unintentionally angling his feathers and banking softly back inland. Wind rushing past the two was the only sound beside the buzzing in his core that Danny could hear for what felt like ages, and as the silence stretched he could feel a cold sweat start at the back of his neck.
Ancients, this is awkward. How do normal people confess again? He doesn’t even remember if he was the one to ask Valerie out freshman year.
“It's beautiful up here,” Connor’s comment interrupted the panicked spiral his brain was about to go into, and he hummed in response. Twisting, Danny let himself face the ground again, letting go of his intangibility and let the wind catch, using his wings for flight instead of his ghost powers.
“It is.” With the lights of the city below them casting off the waves of the beach, and the cars traversing the streets so small they looked like toys, it really was pretty here. A perfect night for a first flight.
“Hey Connor,” Danny starts, the scenery below helping to calm his nerves and find his tongue. A soft hum from above him encourages him to continue. “About your lessons-”
“Are they too much for you?” Connor interjects suddenly, a hint of insecurity creeping into his voice.
“No, no, I love helping you learn!” And he really does, the moment Connor gets something right in their lessons and smiles lives in Danny's core, powering him like a battery. He has to cut that train of thought off ASAP, right now, so Connor isn’t getting the wrong idea. “I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out outside of our lessons, y’know, maybe come to Amity once in a while.”
A pregnant pause elongated itself with the sound of a car horn from the streets below, and Danny had to resist turning his heat to peek at the face of the clone behind him.
“Like a date?” Connor finally asked, tone hesitant and… hopeful?
This time Danny didn’t stop himself from looking back at the teen flying above him, meeting his eyes with a smile. “Yeah, Con, like a date.”
A small “oh” escaped his lips as the almost faded blush came back with a vengeance. It made Danny giggle, and Connor smiled at the sight.
“Well, do you?” Danny pressed, feeling much more hopeful about the answer than a few minutes ago.
With a small nod and a smile only slightly bigger, Connor replied, “Yeah, I think I’d like that.”
Danny couldn’t stop the almost inhuman grin that spread across his face any more than he could stop the whooping holler he gave as he brought in his wings and dove, leaving Conner as he picked up speed towards the ground. As his glow started to be matched by the glow of the streetlights he snapped his wings out, using the gained speed along with a few powerful wingbeats to soar back up and over his new boyfriend, spinning and rolling around him in excitement as he laughed.
“Okay, okay, you’re happy. I get it!” Connor laughed, smile smoothing over his usually stoic features. “Now can you teach me how to land? I’m pretty sure I’m getting cramps from keeping my wings out like this for so long.”
With an excited giggle and energetic hum in his chest, Danny showed his boyfriend how to turn, and eventually land when they got close enough to the mountain. Zatanna still wouldn’t be back for a few days, and Danny could see more than a few dates they could go on while Connor still had those big beautiful wings.

We would Like Spookylads headcanons!
ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE
(based off this post!)
Seán:
He gets excited very easily
Also distracted very easily
Never seems to run out of energy
(The seemingly endless amounts of coffee he drinks may or may not have something to do with that)
He can transform whenever he wants but is forced to on a full moon
He just runs around in the woods chasing squirrels and the like
Also wolf parkour
Likes to try and intimidate people with his teeth
Has a cabin in the woods
Literally just jokes around all the time
He’s probably the one who comes up with pranks and ideas for the lads to pull off
Has 0 impulse control
According to Daniel, should be kept on a leash
Has the most Irish howl a howl can possibly be
Daniel:
How. Is this man. Surviving.
He basically babysits all of the others
They tend to hang out at his mansion whenever they want a night in
He doesn’t like to fly too often and only really turns into a bat to escape an awkward situation or to quickly stop any of the others from doing something stupid.
He cleans his mansion constantly
If even a hint of a cobweb shows up he gets Brian to blast it to smithereens
Is desperately needing sleep
He tries to sleep in the day but the other Lads end up keeping him awake
(Because they must be supervised at all times)
Tries his best to control the others but more often than not gets dragged into their shenanigans
Seán: feck
Dan, materialising out of nowhere: :O WHAT ARE YOU?! >:0
Seán, sighing: werewolf not swearwolf
Dan: Good. >:(
Daithi:
Mostly just spends his time haunting random people and seeing if they notice
He can go completely invisible if he wants to but the other Lads can sort of sense where he is
All apart from Brian (cyborg reasons)
And he 100% uses this to his advantage to scare him
He’s pretty chill most of the time and just goes along with stuff
But boy can he hold a grudge
He hates being scared himself
So if someone insults and/or scares him he’ll pull out all stops to frighten them as badly as he can
He often takes charge whenever the Lads are pulling off a particularly complex plan and proceeds to have a mental breakdown
Daithi, hovering over a tree: COME ON GUYS JUST CLIMB THE FECKING TREE IT’S NOT THAT HARD YOU’RE KILLING ME UP HERE
Seán: dude you’re already dead
Daithi: DANIEL HOW DO YOU MANAGE THIS
Brian:
The most technically advanced of the group
That’s one of the perks of being a cyborg
He set his ringtone as the Ghostbusters theme just to mess with Daithi
He has a laser-shooting eye which he wholly abuses
He will impulsively blast anything that annoys him so the others do have to be careful when they tease him
And they do tease him
He tries to shoot Daithi all the time and is genuinely really upset that the beam just goes straight through him
Built his own super-robo-skates that he tries to race wolf!Seán with
He won’t rest until he’s the fastest
Those two also have scream-offs
He won’t rest until he’s the loudest
They’re always competing with each other
He’s probably the most approachable of the group just because he doesn’t look as scary
Yes, even more so than Kevin
Kevin:
Kevin is an ordinary human being
But the lads are all collectively terrified of him
Just... that man sets thing on fire out of his own freewill like it’s another Tuesday
Even other normal people can feel an unsettling aura around Kevin
The Lads secretly theorise that Kevin must be special somehow
Maybe he can shapeshift or spontaneously start cults or summon demons or something
But no, Kevin just really likes fire
He has a lighter on his person at all times
He looks very out of place hanging out with a bunch of supernatural entities
He’s more often than not the lookout in all of the Lads’ schemes
But that’s just because they want as much time as possible without the addition of fire
Due to his human status (or just his general personality) he’s the baby of the group
Ok, “baby” is a bad description
More like the annoying toddler that they want to throw off a cliff 90% of the time
But they love having him around and he’s one of them despite his ordinariness

Assemble
Chapter 4
Pairing- Loki x Reader x Steve (one side)
Warning- cursing
Your thoughts and other characters are in italics.
Flashback in Bold.
Back on the Helicarrier in Bruce’s lad. Y/n knocks on the door. “Y/n come in.”
Y/n walks into the room and looks around at all the equipment.
“Your call on the spectrometers... how did you know that would work?” Bruce wondered.
“Well we’re trying to find the Tesseract and it gives off a certain type of energy which can be read as a frequency hence why I said spectrometers.” Y/n explained. “I just wanted to let you know that if you need any help I’m here.”
“Well two heads are better then one.”
Y/n walks over to the chair across from Bruce.
As soon as Y/n sits down she gets pulled into Bruce’s mind.
“HULK… SMASH!!” The Incredible Hulk roused as he smashes the ground making it crack open.
“I’m so sorry I knew about your friend but I didn’t know it was that bad.” Y/n announced.
“So you’ve done research on me?” Bruce queried
“Not for the reasons you’re thinking your memories just told me.” Y/n told Bruce.
“My memories?”
“I can read minds and when I sat down I saw an Image of you know who.”
“Voldemort.”
“What no The Hulk.” Y/n stated.
“Oh that guy.” Bruce dryly.
“I know what it’s like to have apart of you that you cant control.” Y/n disclosed.
“You do?” Bruce curious tone.
“Ya afraid if you let your emotions get the best of you it’s game over but I have faith you Bruce.” Y/n said Optimistically.
“Really?”
“I just through away the only source that can help me control my powers. In three hours my full powers are coming back if I believe I can control them. Then I believe you can control him.” Bruce smiles as Y/n opens one of The files on the desk. “I’m not saying it’s gonna happen right off bat it’s gonna take some time.” Y/n finished.

“Natasha watches the skies. Thunder. Coming out of nowhere. Fury speaks over her headset.
“Said anything?”
“Not a word.” Natasha replied.
“Just get him here. We're low on time.” Nick ordered.
With Loki tied up and cuffed to his seat, Tony and Steve watch from a distance, whispering. “I don't like it.”
“What? Rock of Ages giving up so easily?” Tony supposed.
“I don't remember it being ever that easy. This guy packs a wallop.” Steve remarked.
“Still, you are pretty spry, for an older fellow. What's your thing? Pilates?” Tony wondered.
“What?”
“It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple things, you know, doing time as a Capsicle.”
Steve looks at Tony, finally meeting his ego match. “Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in.”
“Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you.”
Thunder and Lightning nearly hit the jet, making it shake violently.
“Where's this coming from?” Natasha mumbled to herself.
Thunder rumbles overhead. Loki stares out the window intently.
“What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?” Steve teased.
“I'm not overly fond of what follows.” Loki answered.
Outside the jet a blinding light hits the jet. Not a light. The Mighty Thor. Thor open the ramp and grabs Loki by the throat and flies out. Steve and Tony are left dumbstruck. Tony puts the Iron Man helmet on.
“Now there's that guy.” Tony said with a sigh of irritation
“Another Asgardian?” Natasha wondered.
“Think the guy's a friendly?” Steve asked.
“Doesn't matter. If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost.” Tony turns and gets ready to jump off the jet to chase after Thor.
“Stark, we need a plan of attack!” Steve protested.
“l have a plan. Attack.” Tony jumps out of the jet and chases after Thor. Cap grabs a parachute to follow.
“I'd sit this one out, Cap.” Natasha insisted.
“I don't see how I can.” Steve replied.
“These guys come from legends, they're basically gods.”
“There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that.” Cap jumps out of the jet.

Somewhere out in the European mountains, Thor throws Loki into the side of the mountain. He raises the mighty hammer, Mjölnir. He looks down at his brother, who he thought to be dead and is angry to see him alive in this fashion.
“Where is the Tesseract?” Thor demanded.
“I missed you too.” Loki laughed.
“Do I look to be in a gaming mood?!” Thor snapped.
“Oh, you should thank me. With the Bifrost gone how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here? Your precious Earth.” Loki scoffed.
Thor drops Mjölnir, causing the mountain to quake. He picks up Loki. His brother. Although Thor is pissed for what he has done, a family is everything to a man or god. “I thought you dead.”
“Did you mourn?”
“We all did. Our father...”
“Your father. He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?”
Thor lets go Loki, who walks away from Thor, causing an even bigger wedge between them.
“We were raised together, we played together, we fought together. Do you remember none of that?”
Loki turns around. “I remember a shadow. Living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss. I was and should be king!”
“So you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights. No, the Earth is under my protection, Loki.” Thor declared.
Loki laughs “And you’re doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves, while you idly threat. I mean to rule them. And why should I not?”
“You think yourself above them?” Thor asked.
“Well, yes.” Loki said in a casual tone.
“Even if your love was here. You think yourself above her.”
Loki stops walking away from Thor. “I do not know what you speak of.”
“Mother told me what she did for you. She gave you a love someone who will be there for you and love you forever come home brother we can find her together.” Thor said Sincerely.
“I already found her. She’s here you know of her....she helped fight The Destroyer.” Loki stated.
”Y/n.”
“Do you think I came here because of your love of Earth....we well rule over all humanity and there will be nothing you can do about it.” Loki said with fire and determination.
“Then you miss the truth of ruling, brother. Throne would suit you ill.” Thor disclosed.
Angrily, Loki shoves his brother to the side. He walks back up to the ledge. Turns around. “I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Odinson, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it...”
“Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be-king?” Thor queried.
“I am a king!” Loki swore loudly.
“Not here! You give up the Tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream! You come home.” Thor said trying to reason with Loki.
“I don’t have it. You need the cube to bring me home, but I've sent it off I know not where.” Loki grinned.
Mjölnir flies back to his grasp. “You listen well, brother. I...”
Thor is Knocked off the Mountain by Iron Man who tackles him in mid-flight.
“I'm listening.” Loki mocked.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Thor and Iron Man crash into the forest. Thor rolls himself up. Iron Man is still standing, but keeps his distance. The helmet opens up.
“Do not touch me again!” Thor growled.
“Then don't take my stuff.” Tony stated.
“You have no idea what you're dealing with.” Thor began.
“Shakespeare in the park? Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?” Tony mocked.
“This is beyond you, metal man. Loki will face Asgardian justice!” Thor explained.
“He gives up the Cube, he's all yours. Until then, stay out of my way... tourist.” The Iron Man helmet clamps and he walks away. In one quick move, Thor pulls Mjölnir, throws it, and Knocks Iron Man clear across into a tree.
“Okay.” Tony scoffed.
From the mountain side, Loki watches in amusement. Thor raises his hand. Mjölnir flies back to his hand. Thor swings the hammer, summoning a ray of energy. Iron Man stands up and from his hand boosters, a blast of energy Knocks The mighty Avenger on his ass. Iron Man flies back up and knocks Thor into a tree. Thor, kneeling on the ground, pulls Mjölnir to his hand, raises it to the skies and pulls in Lightning and Thunder. Thor points the hammer at Iron Man and the outpouring of bolts lighting increases in intensity. Iron Man falls back.
“Power at 400% capacity.” Jarvis informed Tony.
“How about that?” Tony grinned.
Iron Man flies away from his hand boosters, pushing Thor to his knees. Like two gunslingers ready to draw, both Thor and Iron Man fly towards each other and meet in the middle and ascend up.
The two battle. Iron Man grasps Thor, elbowing him and smashing him into the side of a mountain. Thor leaps off the mountain and takes Iron Man with him.
Thor and Iron Man crash right back down, smashing down every tree possible. Iron Man yanks Thor right up. Thor grabs both hands boosters and begins to crush them. Tony quickly chargers as much energy as he can and shoots energy in Thor’s face. Thor falls back, losing his stance. Iron Man headbutts Thor, with his gold-titanium alloy helmet. Thor... headbutts him back in head and actually sends Iron Man across the forest. Iron Man boosters up and flies back at Thor, grabbing him by the arm and cape and swings him into another tree. Thor looks up, ready. Thor runs with all his patience out the window. Iron Man swings and misses, giving Thor the momentum to grab him, lift him and smash him down hard. Thor summons back Mjölnir to his hand. Just as he's about to put the hammer down, Iron Man uses his hand boosters to skid across the ground and trip Thor over. Standing up, Thor looks for him, but from behind him, Iron Man crashers into his back. Thor stands facing Iron Man. Ready to pounce... Captain America’s shield ricochets off both Thor and Iron Man, stopping them.
They look up and see Captain America standing on top of a fallen tree with the shield back in hand. “That's enough!”Steve said coming down looks at Thor. “Now, I don't know what you plan on doing here.”
“I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes!” Thor answered.
“Then prove it! Put the hammer down.” Steve voiced.
“Um, yeah, no! Bad call! He loves his hammer!” Tony provoked.
Thor backhands Iron Man with Mjölnir. Thor, losing all tolerance with this sentential of liberty, raises the hammer. “You want me to put the hammer down?”
Thor leaps high into the air raising Mjölnir. Captain America crutches down holding up his shield.Sure bring the hammer down onto the shop with a massive. Implosion of light reacts to the Vibranium shield creates a massive shockwave that blows up anything within a mile.
IronMan stands up, looking around like `holy shit.' Lying right next to him is Cap.
“Are we done here?” Steve asked.
Captain America,Iron Man, and Thor just stand there.

As Bruce and Y/n are working in his lab as Loki walks down being guarded by men and when he looks into the room he catches Y/n’s face he was shocked but he covered it well. Banner stops working on the scepter and looks up. Loki eyes him as he walks, nodding and smiling. Bruce rubs his head.
“Hey Bruce you ok?” Y/n asked.
when Y/n finally looks up at what Bruce was look at she see him. Everything slows down and she can only see him. She can hear her heartbeat as clear as day. She gets the sense of familiar like she’s known him her entire life and just haven’t seen him in a while. Even though she’s just seeing him for the first time. Every nerve in her body has a awaken and she feels a different form of electricity go through her. She feels like like the world hell the universe is pulling her towards him she doesn’t understand why.

Loki is now free from his cuffs and is contained in a large glass cella held by hydraulic rigs. Fury walks up the control panel of the cell. “In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass.” Fury presses a button which opens up a hatch underneath Loki’s cell.
Loki peers as much as he can from the glass. Without seeing, the sounds of gusting wind would make man shit his pants. Not a god, though of course. “Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?!” Fury closes the hatch. Points at Loki. “Ant.” Then points at the button which would drop Loki into the steel trap. “Boot.” Nick finished
“It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me.” Loki said smirking.
“Built for something a lot stronger than you.” Nick stated.
“Oh, I've heard.” Loki looks into the camera.
The others watch on the monitor Loki getting interrogated. Banner looks at the monitor, intently.
“The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?”
“How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control.” Nick Started. “You talk about peace and you kill `cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did.”
“Ooh. It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is.” Loki disclosed.
“Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something.” Nick said smiling about to walk out the room but Loki voice stopes him.”
“Humans often over look when real power is standing in front of them” Loki said looking into the camera. “And what marvelous power she has such shame you keep a breathtaking creature like that locked up.”
Fury walks off leaving Loki in his glass cell. Loki looks back at the camera, smirking.
Y/n is watching the interrogation from Bruce’s lab.
Bold I’ll give him that.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Steve watches until the monitor goes black. Thor, who didn't even look, just listened, stands there, torn apart. They all just stand there in stunned silence. Finally --“He really grows on you, doesn't he?”
“Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?” Steve asked.
“He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract.” Thor explained.
“An army? From outer space?” Steve inquired.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Y/n walks out of Bruce’s lab and head towards the bridge lost in her thoughts on how Loki knows so much about her and why is every fiber of her being telling her to go to his cell. Just thinking about the way he look at her makes her smile makes her feel flushed. Not realizing that she made her way to the bridge when she looks up she instantly smiles even more.
“Thor?!!”
“Y/n?!!”
Without hesitating Y/n runs and hugs Thor. He then picks her up and twirls her around in excitement.
“Y/n! I did not know you would be here.” Thor proclaimed happily.
“I didn’t know you would be here I thought the bifost was destroy.” Y/n told Thor happy to to her friend.
“It was my father summoned all his power to get me here.” Thor shared.
Agent Hill and the other look at Y/n with confusion. “Am I missing something? How to you tow know each other?” Agent Hill questioned.
“I met Thor in New Mexico. I helped him fight the destroyer.” Y/n grinned.
“Does Director Fury know about this?” Agent Hill asked.
“Of course I wouldn’t dare keep secrets from the Director. But what’s going on with Loki why is he here this time.”
He’s here because of you. Thor thought
Y/n looks at Thor shocked. “What?!”
“He’s building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for.”
“Selvig?” Thor asked.
“Erik? ....why was Erik working with Shield?”Y/n asked Agent Hill.
“He's an astrophysicist.” Bruce answered.
“He's a friend.” Thor stated.
“Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours.” Natasha informed the others but mumbling the last bit.
“I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here.” Steve disclosed.
“Steve right there’s something here that Loki wants.” Y/n agreed.
“I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him.” Bruce voiced.
“Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother.” Thor declared.
“He killed eighty people in two days.” Natasha commented.
“He's adopted.” Thor disclosed.
“Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?” Bruce asked.
“The It's a stabilizing agent.” Tony answered Bruce’s question as he is walking in with Coulson. “I'll fly you there. Keep the love alive. Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at Shield.” Tony walks over to Thor and hits his bicep. “No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing.”
“Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants. Uh, raise the mid-mast, ship the top sails. That man is playing GALAGA! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.” Tony covering his eye, looks around. “How does Fury do this?” Tony asked.
“He turns.” Agent Hill answered.
Tony looks around the monitors and places a button size hacking implant under Fury's desk, without anyone noticing. “That sounds exhausting. The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube.” Tony explained.
“When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?” Agent Hill queried.
“Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?” Tony wondered.
“Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?” Steve questioned.
“Erik got to heat the cube to a hundredand twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier.” Y/n answered out loud.
“Unless, Selvig has figured out how to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect.” Tony replied.
“Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet.” Bruce explained.
“Finally, someone who speaks English.” Tony grinned.
“Is that what just happened?” Steve questioned.
Tony and Banner shake hands. A glimmer in their eyes shines as the mutual respect for each other shows.
“It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. You're work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.” Tony remarked.
Bruce looks down. “Thanks.”
Nick Fury walks on to the bridge. “Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him.”
“Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon.” Steve pointed out.
“I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys.” Nick disclosed.
“Monkeys? I do not understand.” Thor said confused.
“Don’t worry I’ll explain it to you later.” Y/n whispered to Thor.
“I do! I understood that reference.” Steve exclaimed.
Tony rolls his eyes, while Cap looks proud of himself. “Shall we play, doctor?”
“Let's play some.” As Banner and Tony walk out, the Galaga player turns ever so discreetly, watches as everyone else disperses and goes back to playing.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Banner continuously scans with a gamma ray detection scanner on the scepter for radiation. Tony looks at his monitors, shifting and solving as many algorithms and equations.
“We didn’t get a chance to formally meet I’m Y/n Munroe.” Y/n said holding out her hand for Tony to shake.
“Tony Stark.”Tony shakes Y/n’s hand.
Tony have surgery and screaming. Tony wakes up suddenly with a tube up his nose, laying on a cot in a cave. He rips out the tube and tries to pick up a cup on the table beside him, but fails. He notices a man shaving and tries to reach further but is stopped by wires.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you.” Yinsen stated.
Tony realizes that he's connected to a battery. He rips off the bandages over his chest to see an electromagnet inside his chest.
“That’s how it happened.” Y/n mumbled.
But Tony heard clear as day. “What happened?”
“Um nothing.” Y/n said walking over to Bruce.
“You didn’t tell me you knew Erik Selvig.”
“Oh ya I met him years back when I was 17 I was his assistant after I got my PhD.” Y/n explained
“You have a PhD?” Bruce asked.
“Ya I don’t really talk about.”
“Don’t like being the smartest person in the room.” Bruce observed.
“Exactly.” Y/n said sitting down in a chair.
After a moment the computer that this is working on starts to beep.
“The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig’s reports on the Tesseract. But it's gonna take weeks to process.” Bruce told Y/n and Tony.
“If we bypass their mainframe and direct a reroute to the Homer cluster, we can clock this around six hundred teraflops.” Tony explained
“All I packed was a tooth brush.” Bruce commented.
“You know, you two should come by Stark Towers sometime. Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it, it's candy land.” Tony said with a smile.
“Thanks, but the last time I was in New York I kind of broke...Harlem.” Bruce shared.
“I live here and I broke Harlem...I caused a black out and a state wide earthquake.” Y/n confessed.
“That was you?!!” Bruce exclaimed.
“I heard about that what the hell happened?” Tony wondered.
“I had a nightmare.” Y/n replied.
“Your kidding me.” Tony claimed.
“I kid you not.” Y/n answered.
“Well, I promise a stress free environment. No tension. No surprises.” Tony grinned.
“Oh no Tony don’t....”
Tony pokes Banner with a miniature electrical prod. “OW!” Tony looks at Banner closely.
Steve walks in on them, pissed at Tony. “Hey!”
“Nothing?” Tony questioned.
“Are you nuts?” Steve asked angrily.
“You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?” Tony asked calmly.
Y/n laughs.
“Is everything a joke to you?” Steve wondered.
“Funny things are.” Tony remarked.
“Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny. No offense, doctor.” Steve made known.
“No, it's alright. I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things.” Bruce implied.
“You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut.” Tony chuckled.
“And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark.” Steve stressed.
“You think I'm not? Why did Fury call us and why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables.” Tony explained.
“I agree with Tony I know Erik and I know how he feels about Shield he would’ve wanted someone familiar to be here with him.....I should’ve been here with him.” Y/n disclosed.
“You think Fury’s hiding something?” Steve questioned.
“Of course he is I should’ve been here helping Erik but I wasn’t because he knows I can read minds. I would read his mind and find out what he’s really doing.” Y/n mumbled.
“He’s a spy. Captain, he’s the spy. His secrets have secrets.” Tony said then points over to Bruce. “It’s bugging him too, isn’t it?”
“Uh...I just wanna finish my work here and...” Bruce stuttered.
“Doctor?” Steve asked.
“'A warm light for all mankind,’ Loki's jab at Fury about the cube.” Bruce started.
“I heard it.”
Bruce points at Tony. “Well, I think that was meant for you. Even if Barton didn't post that all over the news.”
“The Stark Tower? That big ugly.” Tony gives him a look. “...building in New York?”
“Isn’t It's powered by Stark Reactors, self- sustaining energy source. That building will run itself for what, a year?” Y/n asked.
“That's just the prototype. I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now.” Tony commented.
“So, why didn't Shield bring him in on the Tesseract project? I mean, what are they doing in the energy business in the first place?” Bruce explained.
“I should probably look into that once my decryption programmer finishes breaking into all of Shield's secure files.” Tony replied.
“I’m sorry, did you say...?” Steve trailed off
“Your looking through all the Shield files.” Y/n said astonished.
“Jarvis has been running it since I hit the bridge. In a few hours we'll know every dirty secret Shield has ever tried to hide.” Tony said holds out a bag of blueberries. “Blueberry?”
Y/n takes a blueberry. “I need to file or two from him anyways.”
“Yet you’re confused about why they didn’t want you around?” Steve remarked.
“An intelligence organization that fears intelligence? Historically, not possible.” Tony pointed out.
“I think Loki's trying to wind us up. This is a man who means to start a war, and if don't stay focused, he'll succeed. We have orders, we should follow them.” Steve told Tony.
“Following is not really my style.” Tony grinned.
“And you're all about style, aren't you?” Steve said with a sarcastic smile.
“Of the people in this room, which one is; A. wearing a spangly outfit, and B. not of use?” Tony mocked.
“Steve, tell me none of this smells a little funky to you?” Bruce chimed in.
Steve takes in the possibility, but as an obedient soldier, shakes it off.
“Just find the cube.” Steve walks out of the lab. Still torn apart by the possibility, he walks away, towards the hull of the ship.
“I’ll talk to him.” Y/n announced.
“You can try he looks like the snitching type.” Tony disclosed.
Y/n rushes out of the lab to find Steve. “Steve.”
Steve stops in his track. “You agree with him you think what he’s doing is OK.”
“I need information on someone and I know Nick fury‘s not gonna give it to me. It’s the only way I can know for sure.” Y/n stated.
“That question you asked Coulson.” Steve reported.
“Ya. I know what you’re about to do.” Y/n announced. “I know you wanna get answers just as well as I do now go get them.” With one last look Steve walks away. While Y/n heads towards the cell where they’re keeping Loki.

Lost Time: Ch. 6
Fandom: Time Warp Trio
Author: The_Bookkeeper_96
Rating: T
Summary: Another summer at Horae Manor begins, but before Joe and Tessa get the chance to train, they are sent out on a mission to explore the magic capital of the universe, Mancika. Rumours of illegal magic conversion spread throughout the city, and Joe and Tessa need to locate those responsible. But after the events of last summer, Joe isn't eager to work with his Aether partner, and the two are struggling more with each other than with their enemies.
A/N: Look who's back ;) I promise, I'm not dead, and I still very much want to keep the small TWT community going. Hopefully, my updates will be more consistent going forward.
P.S.: Thinking about starting a tag list for story updates. Let me know if you're interested/want to be added.

------------------------------------
"In reviewing the tragic incident that occurred at Horae Manor last week, the Great Council has decided to revise the current requirements for acceptance. From this point forward, for the safety of 'lesser magic' users, Horae Manor will only be open to current Warp and Aether wizards and their potential successors. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families of those affected by last week's events, and we hope this change will prevent such things going forward." - Excerpt of Great Council Decree 57 from the year 1908
"You can't be serious. He doesn't know anything!" Tessa exclaims, then suddenly remembers that I'm now standing right next to her. "No offense."
I bite my tongue. No point in arguing in front of Rowena and Cassius, they'd just punish us in some other way. Though forcing us to work together when we were clearly not on good terms seems cruel enough. I force myself to shrug like her little outburst doesn't sting at all.
She'd said that with no hesitation. So what if I didn't do my required reading? What good would knowing the history of magic do for me in a battle?
I briefly picture myself fighting a game show host who keeps shouting trivia questions at me. He demands to know who the first Warp Wizard was, and if I get the question wrong, his powers grow stronger. Three wrong answers and he can turn me into a mouse with the snap of his fingers or smite me with a single bolt of lighting.
I snap out of my daydream, hoping I haven't missed anything. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that could never happen. Knowledge wasn't one of the nine magics. Right?
Maybe one chapter wouldn't hurt…
"Tessa," Ro sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose, "this is a partnership. Warp and Aether wizards rely on each other. Your magic cannot exist without the other half. Your independence is admirable, but from now on you two need to be working together every step of the way."
"I know that, but shouldn't you at least teach him some basic magic first? How to put up a shield or shoot some energy balls?" Tessa frowns and stares at the floor. "This is serious stuff. He could get hurt, or worse."
"Stop talking about me like I'm not here." I cross my arms. Ready now more than ever to start this fight. Why is she acting as if she cares about me getting hurt? She certainly didn't seem to mind last summer in Paris or Cealus. The concerned expression on her face is almost enough to make me believe her, but after last year, I know better than that. What game is she playing here?
"We have spent the last year trying to come up with exercises for the two of you to learn how to cooperate. I had hoped that once we revealed the time decay, you would understand the brevity of the situation. Clearly not." Cas crosses his arms, giving me the impression of a disappointed father.
I remember from our conversation last summer that Cassius is married. Did he have kids too? And had he really spent the last year focusing on Tessa and me instead of his own family? We can't be that special. I wonder if his wife ever came to visit here at Horae. Where did Cas live anyway when he wasn't here? I doubt he'd answer any of my questions about his personal life, especially since he wouldn't answer any of my questions about magic.
"Okay, so maybe our teamwork needs a little improvement," I relent. "But how are we supposed to work on that if you make us fight each other?"
"You're not fighting each other." Rowena flicks her wrist towards us.
I blink. Without warning, Tessa and I are standing on the far side of the gym facing down our mentors. This gym really is bigger than I thought. Or at least, Rowena made it seem that way.
"You're fighting us."
My heart plummets into my stomach. This has to be some weird test. They won't make us fight them. They're professional wizards who had years of magic experience. They are literally the greatest time and space magic-users alive. We would never be able to beat them. I have no training and Tessa only has a year under her belt. She did pretty well against Rowena alone, but with Cassius fighting her too? This would be a disaster for us.
"You guys are really on it with the jokes tonight. But seriously, what's the plan?" Apparently, Tessa is just as stunned as I am, which does nothing for my hopes. We really would be getting crushed. So much for having a good start for the summer.
"We are serious. Don't worry, we'll take it easy on you." Warm purple light glows around Rowena.
"You don't necessarily have to beat us, just knock us out of the arena. As long as we see a decent showing of teamwork from the both of you, we'll consider that a win for you." Cassius' body begins to glow that signature time magic green. "And we won't end this until you do."
Is it my imagination or is the room shifting in size and shape? And why does everything feel like it's moving a lot slower now? Ro and Cas couldn't be using their magic like that already, they weren't even doing anything except standing there. Just how powerful were they?
How powerful could Tessa and I become?
The thought gives me a burst of excitement. This battle could actually be a great way to learn what I will be able to do someday. Maybe there's some way I can trick Cas into showing off all his moves and tricks.
"We're starting now? You're not even going to give us time to strategize?" Tessa holds her arms out in exasperation.
"You will have very few fights in your life where you will have time to strategize. Besides, you know nothing about each other's strengths and weaknesses or fighting styles. And you've only seen Ro fight, not me." Cas cracks his knuckles, the green mist slowly curling farther and farther up his arms.
Okay, so we're doing this.
I try to remember how I felt every time I used my magic before. My hands would always tingle and my chest would feel warm, but the only time I'd ever been able to do anything was in high-stress situations. Like if my life was in danger or the life of someone I care about. But Cas and Ro had already said they'd be going easy on us, so there's no real danger here.
I feel nothing. No tingle. No warmth.
Great, maybe my magic is broken. Which means I have to rely on Tessa during this. Even better. I inwardly roll my eyes. Is that why they were doing this? To build my trust in her by forcing me to lean on her during a fight?
"We can win this if we play it smart. But you need to listen to what I say." Tessa snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Why do you get to be in charge?" I cross my arms. Even if that is Cas and Ro's plan, that doesn't mean I have to follow it. I can prove to them that I know what I'm doing.
"Because I'm the only here with any experience."
"So? You don't know what I've been up to this past year. Maybe I've been practicing my magic non-stop."
"Have you?"
"Well-"
My world turns green as Cas blasts us with magic. "Not off to a good start, you two."
I cringe. I can hear the disappointment in his voice from here. I guess it won't hurt to at least try to cooperate with Tessa. As long as she doesn't betray me again. If Cas and Ro think we're so important that they're spending all their free time thinking about us, the least we can do is try to live up to their expectations.
"Fine. What's your plan?"
"I need you to distract them."
"Distract them how?"
Tessa runs a hand over her face. "I don't know! Just think of something, and fast."
Before I can even blink, she throws up a shield in front of us, blocking another attack from our mentors. I can't help but cough as the smoke clears around us.
"Magic combat lesson number one: move."
Tessa winces and waves the smoke away. "Cas is right. Standing still like this is a death sentence. We have to run or hide."
"There's nowhere to hide."
"So run."
Just like that, she bounces away, using the last remaining smoke as cover.
Okay, distract two super powerful wizards. I can do that.
How do I do that?
My mind races as my feet start to carry me away. I have to get them to focus on me so Tessa can do… what exactly is Tessa planning on doing? I try to find her, before realizing that that's probably not going to help her.
The room shakes, and suddenly I'm running into a wall I'm pretty sure wasn't there two seconds ago.
A stinging pain flares up above my eye. My hand reaches up and pulls away with blood smeared across my palm. Okay, apparently 'go easy on us' doesn't mean we won't get hurt. Noted.
"You need to pay attention. Especially when your opponent can manipulate the battlefield," Rowena calls out.
Well, at least I had their attention. Hopefully, Tessa can go do her thing now. I want this fight to be over with as soon as possible. Cas was right. I'm nowhere near ready for this. Magic only came to me on accident or when someone was in serious danger. Even if I could, there was no way I could focus enough right now to summon any amount of power.
I laughed. "I meant to do that."
Both Ro and Cas raised their brows at me. "Really?"
"Totally. We definitely have a plan, and we are definitely going through with it." Another nervous chuckle escaped my throat. If I can keep them talking to me, Tessa should be able to go through with her plan. I tried not to frown or show any irritation. Of course, it really would help if I knew her plan.
Our mentors' hands begin to glow. I gulp down a bubble of air. This isn't good, but I can't let them see me panic.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Tessa scaling the wall towards the seats where Cas and I had been earlier. Wait, is her plan to escape and leave me here while I get attacked? My fists clench. I shouldn't be surprised. This was exactly the kind of behavior she had shown last summer. A list of crude insults runs through my mind. I shake them away. No time to think about that. I have to focus on what's happening right in front of me.
A familiar warmth built up in my chest. Was it magic? One way to find out.
I lift my hands and close my eyes. Just push it out. That's all I have to do. I take a deep breath, feeling the warmth swirl deeper within me. My fingertips tingle in anticipation.
Without warning, the room shakes again, and my body flings to the side. I just barely manage to stay on my feet, but the warmth in me is suddenly replaced with nausea.
My arms wrap around my stomach. I bend over and try not to vomit. Damn space magic.
I look up to see Ro and Cas looking confused, and I understand why. They're no longer near me where they were. Instead, they're a hundred feet away from me on the other side of the arena. Had it always been this big?
I try to find Tessa, but I can't see her anywhere. So she really did leave. Great.
Ro's eyes scan the edges of the arena and land on something in the far corner. Try as I might, I can't see what she sees.
Pointing at the corner, her fingers curl into a fist, and she pulls her arm into her side.
The corner flies in closer, but there's nothing there.
Rowena frowns. "What?"
I see a flash of movement off to my side, but don't dare look at it. Maybe Tessa didn't abandon me after all. But looking at her wouldn't help her. It would only reveal her location to our opponents.
Now, Ro and Cas are both frantically looking around the room, trying to locate Tessa. But they're not having any luck.
Our roles had reversed since the start of the fight. Tessa was now serving as the perfect distraction. Both Cas and Ro were completely focused on her, which gave me the opportunity to strike. And how could I not?
All I have to do is summon one burst of magic and push Cas and Ro out of the arena. No problem. Not at all.
I tried to bring back the warmth that I felt earlier. Surprisingly, it did. The heat and tingling flare back to life, making me shudder. An uncontrollable grin splits open my face. Maybe I am good at this magic thing after all.
The heat increases and my whole body feels electrified. Had it always felt this intense and painful? Whatever, me and my magic were ready to go.
My hands are already glowing by the time I pull them up. I can't contain my excitement. I'm doing it! I'm really using magic! Focusing everything I have on my hands, I point at Ro and Cas who are both conveniently placed near the edge of the arena. They must be so focused on Tessa, they don't even realize where they're standing.
I smirk. This is too perfect. I could feel my magic ready to burst. With one final breath, I let my magic loose just as a wall of purple appears in front of me.
And my world goes white.
----------------------------------
My hearing returns first. A sharp ringing echoes in my head. As it slowly fades away, the sound of voices filters through.
"Do you know how difficult it's going to be to repair this gym?" The first voice is stern, angry.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know he would do that. I- I didn't want this to happen." The second voice sounds panicky and raspy. Had they been crying? "Why would you think that fight was a good idea? He could be dead!"
"He's not dead." A third voice, one very close to me, says. They didn't sound angry or panicked, just calm.
What's happening? I struggle to regain consciousness, my body fighting me the whole way. The last of the ringing in my ears disappears and all I can see is blurry lights. I hear a pained groan. Was that me?
"See? Not dead. A little battered, but that's to be expected." Something next to me stirs and moves away. "You didn't do anything wrong. We can repair the gym easily enough." A pause, and I think I hear someone huff. "Your shield didn't do this, Tessa. I think he depleted his magic when he blasted off there at the end."
Oh, right. The battle. My memory came back to me in a rush of bright images. Did Tessa and I cause some sort of explosion? That must be Cas talking now. Did he just say something about depleting my magic?
A bolt of alarm zips through me, pushing me back into consciousness. I shoot straight up, gasping for air.
Instantly, Ro, Cas, and Tessa gather around me, but I can't get my breathing under control enough to hear them. Deplete my magic? Like, all my magic? I couldn't feel any trace of the warmth from earlier. Did I just waste everything in one stupid fight? No, no, no! I never even got to do anything cool like stop time or warp without The Book. How could this have happened?
"Easy, Joe. Just breathe. You were knocked out for a few minutes, but everything is fine now." Cas's face fills my view and he puts my hand on his chest. "Breathe with me. In and out. In and out."
I match his breathing as best I can, and eventually the world comes back into focus. I manage to say a few words, "Is my magic gone forever?"
Cas's head jerks back in shock. "Why would you think that?"
"Because you said I depleted my magic." My chest constricts and my breathing picks up again.
He laughs with a shake of his head. "No, your magic is not gone. In fact, I would say your magic is a lot stronger than I expected it to be at this stage. But that stunt you pulled did expend all of your energy. You'll need to rest for a day, but you'll be fine. I promise."
"Stunt?" I took a moment to look at all three of them. Rowena was frowning, but not at me. Her focus was on Tessa, whose eyes were red and locked onto me. "What exactly did I do?"
"You nearly turned yourself into a bomb!" Tessa threw her arms in the air. "I told you to distract them, not attack them!"
"I did?" For the first time, I take in the scene around me. The gym is completely destroyed. Black scorch marks cover the floor all around us and smoke still hovers in the air. Part of the seating had collapsed. Even the ceiling had cracks branching out from where I had been standing before I blacked out. "Oh. Uh, sorry?" What were you supposed to say when you nearly blew up a building?
Cas suppresses a smile. "It's really not that bad. This place has survived a lot worse, trust me. But no more magical attacks like that, until we've got you trained. Okay?"
I mutely nod, not sure what else to do. To be honest, I don't think I could summon any magic now even if I wanted to. I've never felt so exhausted in my entire life. Everything in me ached, and it took a lot of effort just to sit upright.
"Did I really do this all by myself?" The damage in the gym is intense. And what about that flash of purple I saw right before I tried to shoot at Cas and Ro? My magic did feel a little uncontrolled at the end, but surely I'm not capable of this kind of destruction.
"No, but Tessa's force field blocked your magic from going out." Rowena crossed her arms, still clearly upset with Tessa. "It bounced off the shield and shot straight back into itself."
"But I didn't know he was going to do that! I didn't mean to hurt him." Tessa turns to me with wide eyes. "Please, believe me, Joe. Even if we're not exactly friends, I would never try to hurt you like that."
I want to snap back and tell her I don't believe her, but something in her eyes makes me stop. She looks on the verge of tears and has clearly cried at some point already. Why did she care if I got hurt? She'd made it clear that she didn't care about anyone but herself.
Instead of saying anything, I simply turn away and glare at the ground.
"I-" Tessa starts, but is quickly interrupted.
"Enough." Cas puts himself between everyone. Stopping any fights before they can start. "We all have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, and we can all use a good night's rest."
"What's happening for us tomorrow?" I ask. He had mentioned he and Ro had a council meeting tomorrow, but what were Tessa and I going to be doing? Were we going to sit in with them?
"We'll talk about that at breakfast," Ro said in a tone that implied if she told us now, we wouldn't sleep at all tonight. Great, so something not fun was happening tomorrow.
With help from Cas, I got to my feet, and after an awkward good night to everyone, I stumbled to my room. I was asleep before my head even hit my pillow.

I’m not a wizard: part 3
tag list: @strangemaximoff
You stand with Peter, casually chatting while the ship hurtles through space. He keeps asking you questions.
“So you live in New York?” He asks.
“In the New York Sanctum,”
“Where’s that?”
“Near the park we were fighting at,”
Peter asked you questions with an adorable curiosity. His eyes widened whenever you spoke, making your heart race from his attention towards you.
“So how do you do all that manic stuff?” He asks. You show him your sling ring.
“We channel it through what we call a sling ring. It lets me do stuff like this,” you explain, creating rings around your arms while you create a golden string of light. Golden sparks fall on the floor.
“So that’s what helps you use your legs?” He asks, pointing to the ring. You nod your head.
“Why do you have to do that? What happened?” He asks. You sigh.
“You don’t have to tell me,” he mumbles, retracting his question.
“No it’s fine, I’m just thinking. You see, I used to be a dancer, a ballerina specifically, I was late for a show one day when a car crashed into me when I was on my bike. I lost the ability to feel from the waist down since a fractured a ton of bones. For over a year I wasn’t able to recover fully, so I was able to find Dr. Strange since I’ve heard of paraplegics like me fully recovering. I learned to use inter dimensional energy to keep myself upright.” You say.
“So you’re constantly channeling that?” Peter says. You nod.
“Doesn’t that get tiring?”
“Not anymore, it’s just like a little hum in my bones. But I guess when I got super angry earlier I must’ve just stopped doing it. That’s why I fell.” You say.
“Oooh, that makes more sense I guess,” he realizes. You laugh at the large o he forms with his mouth, finding his face really pretty.
Suddenly the ship begins to close in on a planet.
“Hey what’s going on?” Peter asked.
“I think we’re here,” said Doc.
I don’t think this rig has a self park function. Get your hand inside the steering gimbal. Close those around it” Tony instructed Peter.
“This is meant for one big guy so we gotta move at the same time.”
The ship starts sailing towards some wreckage.
“Turn turn turn!” Peter yells. The ship crashes through it sideways, making the ship hurtle forward. You run forward to Dr. strange who conjures up a shield around you. You try to reinforce it, adding extra layers of strength around it. You crouch right next to Peter, ready to protect him if needed. The ship skids on the ground. You all stumble slightly and you latch your arms to Peter as you keep up your shield. You plant your feet to the ground, keeping you both steady. His suit releases the spider tendrils, latching to the floor of the ship. When the ship finally stops you let go of Peter taking a breath, Strange drops his shield, as do you.
“You all right?”
“Yeah. That was close. I owe you one.” Tony says. You look over to see Peter hanging upside down. “Let me just say if wind up implanting things in my chest or something and I eat one of you I’m sorry,” He says. You roll your eyes, smiling.
“I do not want another single pop culture reference out of you for the rest of the trip. You understand?”
“I’m trying to say that something is coming,”
Suddenly you feel an explosion throwing you backwards into the wreckage. A group of people march inside and a man throws something at Strange, who block it, sending the cloak to him. A figure shoots at iron man. You stumble up to see an alien walking towards Peter who starts frantically shooting webs. You run over to save him.
“Whoa whoa whoa! Please don’t put your eggs in me!” She gets tied in webs before the man kicks Peter in the face. Peter runs away and you go over to the alien woman wrapping her with a golden whip, restraining her against your chest. The group is at a standoff, and you fearfully look at Peter with worry, who was in the arms of a blonde man who unveils his mask.
“Everybody stay where you are Chill the eff out!” The man yells, “I’m going to ask you this one time, where is gamora?”
“Yeah I’ll do you one better, who is Gamora?” Tony says. The man under his boot challenges him,
“I’ll do you one better. WHY IS GAMORA?” He yells.
“Tell me where the girl is or I swear to you I’m gonna French fry this little freak.”
“Let’s do it. You shoot my guy and I’ll blast him let’s go!”
“Do it Quill! I can take it.”
The bug lady struggles against you,
“No he can’t take it!”
“She’s right you can’t.” Strange says.
“Oh yeah? You don’t wanna tell me where she is? That’s fine. I’ll kill all four of you and I’ll beat it out of Thanks myself. Starting with you!” He says, pointing the gun at Peter.
“Thanos?” You ask.
“Wait What Thanos? All right let me ask you this one time. What master do you serve?” Strange asks.
“What master do I serve? What am I supposed to say, Jesus?”
“You’re from Earth,”
“I’m not from earth I’m from Missouri.” Quill says. You scoff.
“That’s on earth dipshit,” both you and Tony say in unison.
“What are you hassling is for?” Tony asked.
“So you’re not with Thanos?” Says Peter.
“With Thanos? No, I’m her to kill Thanos. He took my girl. Wait, who are you?” Quill asks.
Peter reveals his face,
“We’re the avengers, man.”
“Oh,” Quill says, letting them go.
“You’re the ones Thor told us about!” Says the alien girl.
“You know Thor?”
“Yeah, tall guy, not that good looking,” both you and Peter furrow your eyebrows in confusion at this, “needed saving”
“Not that good looking?” You echo in protest, but Strange interrupts you.
“Where is he now?”
“We don’t really know,”
All of you were in position, waiting for Strange’s signal. You had time to kill before Thanos appeared.
You are sat right next to Peter, ready for him to swing you both into action.
“This is so crazy Peter,” you say under your breath. He unveils his mask, looking at you as his hair waved slightly.
“It’s gonna be ok Y/N. We got this. Besides, aren’t you and Dr. Strange masters of the mystic arts?” He says, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Well he certainly is, I dunno about me though,”
“Aww, don’t say that! You protected me when the ship was coming down! You also helped me with that big alien guy with your portal! You just have to do the same this so I can kick Thanks around. No biggie!” He says enthusiastically. You grin.
“At least I get to help beat Thanks with one of the coolest people in New York.” You gush. You see him blush.
“I could say the same thing about you. You’re pretty awesome too,” Peter mumbles. You give his a kiss on the cheek.
“Thanks Pete.” You say, turning back to the ground, seeing Thanos appear from a portal. He and Strange start talking. You and Peter creep closer. You fiddle with the sling ring on your fingers in anticipation.
“I think you’ll find our will equal to yours” says strange, summoning his rings. Tony slams the ship onto him, the rest of the crew jumping into action. You throw space shards at Thanos, helping Peter land blow after blow on him. Strange summons his sword as you summon your flail staff, whipping it at his face, making him yell out. You stand back, helping create shields for Quill to step upon, creating a portal for him to jump through when planting a bomb. You create sling rings for Peter, who yells phrases as he kick the purple freak.
“Magic! More magic! Magic with a kick! magic with a—“ Thanks grabs Peter and you yell and he’s slammed into the ground throwing him, you shove strange out of the way, letting Peter fall into you. Both of you hitting the ground hard. You all keep landing small hit on Thanos, being there to protect your friends as much as you can. Creating shields or catching them when their thrown to the side.
Another girl jumps in, arguing with him. Everyone begins to restrain Thanos, including you, using the same bright red vines as Strange to jerk his other arm to the side. Tony begins to help you with the gauntlet, as you pull the hot strings backwards with every bit of strength you have. Thanks screams as Mantis tries to get him to sleep.
“Parker get over here”
Peter comes to help.
Quill walks over beginning to faint Thanos. After Gamora is revealed to have been killed tony talks to Quill.
“Ok Quill, you gotta cool it right now. You understand? Don’t don’t don’t engage! We almost got this thing off!” Tony yells. Peter begins to hit Thanos, Mantis losing her grip. Tony reaches for Quill.
“Stop!” Thanos breaks from everyone’s grip, sending Mantis flying.
“Oh god,” says Peter, swinging to save her. You see Thanos take the moon and send it flying towards you all. . You scream as you run towards Peter.
“Peter grab everyone!” You yell as you try to flying over to Strange. Strange duplicates himself. You create shields to direct them directly towards Thanos. He takes one of the boulders and throws it, before Strange tangles him with whips. You quickly break the rock with your shield. Strange is grabbed by the titan, and before he reaches him he teleports the time stone to you. You grab it, quickly unleashing it. You plant your feet on the ground, conjuring a time spell. You begin to turn back the clock, the debris from the moon going back up, you scream as you try to go back to when you all had him in your hold. You see thanks physically struggling against your spell, and you quickly bring Strange into your spell. He looks at you,
“Get the gauntlet!” You yell. He looks at you, but is suddenly subdued by Thanos, who was able to break through your spell. You quickly drop the spell, focusing all your attention to Thanos. You try to duplicate yourself like strange, by Thanks is able to eliminate them just like with Strange. He bounds towards you punching you into the ground. You try to conjure shields but he just breaks them. He punches you with such force you feel your legs give out, making you slam onto the ground, unable to run away. You see a sling ring open, and strange grabs the time stone before Thanos could. Thanks cries out in frustration, punching you repeatedly into the ground. Blow after blow, you feel entire body crumple into itself. Thanks than runs, fighting with Tony. You hear someone call out your name as your feel blood drip and soak almost all of your clothes. You scream in pain. You feel all your senses numb as your world turns to black.
You wake up feeling ice cold liquid spray on your body. You open your eyes and see three faces.
“Hey guys! Did we win!” You cough. Peter, Tony, and Strange all give each other a look. Your face drops.
“I-I gave up the stone Y/N,” Strange admits. Blood boils throughout your system.
“You...what?” You growl.
“Y/N it’s ok, Mr. Strange said he did it for a reason.” Peter said, trying to calm you down. You try to stand, but your legs completely give out.
“WHY DID YOU GIVE UP THE STONE?!” You scream. Peter hold you back, holding you in his chest.
“It was the only way,” said Strange, giving you a knowing look. You sigh, in realization.
“Goddammit, we’re all gonna die aren’t we?” You sob, latching on to Peter. He hugs you back, placing his head in your neck.
“I don’t wanna die Peter,” you cry, feeling your composure slipping away.
“It’s going to be ok, it’s going to be ok, I promise.” He says, you both stand, you leaning on your quarterstaff. Everyone assembled together. You all take in your surroundings when you feel your stomach turn.
“Somethings happening,” Says Mantis. You see her disintegrate before your eyes. Dead disappears right after. Then Quill. You look at Strange. He looks at you and Tony. “Tony. This was no other way,” he says. Before your eyes he disappears before you. Tears stream down your face. This can’t be happening. This isn’t real.
“Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good,”
You turn and see Peter latching onto Tony,
“I don’t know what happening. I don’t know...I don’t wanna go, I don’t wanna go, sir please,” he pleads. You cry in anguish as you rush over.
“Please I don’t wanna go. I don’t wanna go.” He sobs. You kneel right beside him, next to Tony. He lays there, you go down and kiss him on his cheek, which almost falls under your touch.
“No..Peter please don’t leave,” you cry. He looks at you, then Tony.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers. He drifts away in the wind. Tony struggle to sit as he looks at you. The clutch in your stomach begins to increase. Not you too. You look at Tony.
“Tony, please, this can be undone, save us T-“ you explain before you feel your body release its self, and you no longer feel any physical pain.

Dragon Ball Z 026
Nappa was wrecking everyone’s shit last time, but Vegeta told him to take a break for three hours, because the good guys keep saying that Goku will show up and save the day. Now that Vegeta knows that Goku is Raditz’s brother Kakarot, he wants to actually wait and see if Goku shows up, so he can beat the crap out of him for turning against his fellow Saiyans. Nappa doesn’t care much for waiting around, but once Vegeta explains his plans to kill Goku’s friends in front of him and then kill Goku slowly, he’s on board with the plan.
Meanwhile, the surviving Z-Fighters, Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan, have nothing else to do but discuss their dim prospects. Any delay in the fighting works to their advantage, but Piccolo’s no so sure that Goku will do any good, even if he does make it in time to help. Nappa’s been unstoppable so far, and Vegeta must be even stronger. Krillin suggests retreating, but that’s not an option either, since the Saiyans plan to eradicate all the Earthlings anyway. It doesn’t matter if Krillin faces them now or later.
As for Gohan, he’s still feeling guilty for hesitating on the battlefield earlier. He realizes that if he had just acted, maybe Tien wouldn’t have gotten killed trying to attack Nappa.
There’s a great line in the dub where Piccolo points out to Gohan that facing his fears in that moment would have been far easier than dealing with the remorse he’s feeling right now. It’s a teachable moment, but in the Japanese he just calls him a coward. I do like that tack, though, because Piccolo’s insults show just how deeply hurt he feels over Gohan letting him down. Yeah, it’s his own fault for putting so much on the shoulders of a child, but you can tell that he truly, genuinely believed that Gohan would be able to handle this kind of thing, and now he’s been badly disappointed. Calling Gohan names is the only thing he can do about it.
Piccolo tells Gohan to leave, and when he walks away, Nappa shoots an energy blast in his direction, and mocks him for trying to flee.
Gohan defiantly insists that he was just going to pee, and quietly adds that the Saiyans are the ones who ought to be running away.
Nappa’s like “What?” and Gohan’s like “Your mother’s belly-button sticks out!” And Nappa’s like “How did he know?” And Gohan’s like “I fucked your mom, shitlips.”
Nappa finally gets bored and excuses himself to go kill people for the next three hours. Vegeta’s like “Whatever, it’s all filler scenes anyway,” so he leaves.
First, he takes out the camera crew who’s been filming all of this up to now, so the gang over at Master Roshi’s place can’t see what’s going on anymore.
Then he flies around and spots a fleet of battleships and aircraft carriers headed towards him, so he kills a few minutes destroying those guys.
Nappa ripping through the wings of a fighter jet like wet paper towels is one of my favorite sequences in this series. They used it a lot on Toonami back in ‘99, and it’s just really fun to watch him go to town. Speaking of going to town...
Nappa starts attacking a city. I feel like Vegeta specifically warned him not to do this sort of thing, since there’s always a chance that he might destroy a Dragon Ball without realizing it.
Wait a minute, he already destroyed that building when he landed in East City! They’re just recycling footage from East City’s destruction! Well, I guess Vegeta can’t get mad at him for destroying the same place twice.
As he watches the city explode, he remarks that they were all going to die later tonight anyway. This is something I’ve always noticed about Nappa. He sort of has this almost cordial attitude about his villainy. Like, I don’t think he’s quite being a smartass or anything with this line. It’s not like he’s trying to justify his behavior either, although it does sort of feel that way. He’s basically saying “You were all going to die either way, so there’s no harm in me getting some enjoyment out of it, right?” That’s been his attitude while fighting Piccolo and the others, too. It’s nothing personal, but he’s got a job to do, and he might as well have fun with it.
We could also make some hay over the fact that Nappa is only talking to himself when he says this line here. Is he just talking to break the silence, or does he say things like this to ease his own mind?
When he gets back, he’s dismayed to see Goku still hasn’t shown up.
“All right, well if Kakarot’s not showing up, I’m gonna strip down for this.”
As Nappa approaches, Piccolo whispers a last, desperate plan to the others. He wants Krillin to distract Nappa long enough for him to grab Nappa’s tail. Then, when Nappa’s incapacitated, Gohan will hit him with everything he’s got. Krillin is impressed with Piccolo’s leadership. In spite of Goku’s absence, he’s still trying to find a way to win this thing.
He even spares a moment to encourage Gohan. Now he’s finally starting to sound more like a parent, or an uncle, or an older brother, or what have you. I’ll always give Piccolo his due for being an important part of Gohan’s childhood, but Goku was saying this sort of stuff to Gohan from Day One, and he never abandoned him in the woods or threatened to slit his throat. If we’re going to compare Piccolo to Goku on this level, then we have to take everything into account, including the parts where Piccolo wasn’t so nice.
Meanwhile, Goku finally reaches the start of Snake Way and returns to King Yemma’s office. Kami sense him from the Lookout, an teleports (?) to Yemma. Goku grabs ahold of him and they teleport back to the Lookout. This is presumably how Kami got here back in Episode 6, but this ability is never explained. Can Kami just teleport anywhere he wants, or is the ability limited to just this one loctation?
From the Lookout, Goku just jumps right over the side and plummets down to Korin’s Tower. Korin tosses him two Senzu beans as he passes by, and then Goku summons Kinto Un.
I never quite understood this scene before, but now it all adds up. Why doesn’t Goku just fly to the battlefield under his own power? Well, at this point in the show, most of the characters can’t fly very far or very fast. Piccolo could probably do it, but not the others. Even coming back from King Kai’s, Goku didn’t fly the whole way, he sort of hopped from one part of the road to another.
So why didn’t he summon Kinto Un from the Lookout? Because Kinto Un can’t fly any higher in the sky than the top of Korin’s Tower. This was established around Episode 126-127 of the original Dragon Ball anime.
The only question I have left is: Why does Korin only have two senzu beans left? He had a whole pot full in Dragon Ball, and this is the first time they’ve been used in DBZ, so what happened? Anyway, Goku eats one right away, to recover from the strenuous run along Snake Way.
I am somewhat surprised that Kinto Un is still faster than Goku’s top speed. He crossed the one million kilometers of Snake Way in under 48 hours, so even if the battle is on the opposite side of the planet, he should be able to reach it in minutes, even if he ran the whole way. But apparently Kinto Un is the better option, despite all the training Goku did.
And now he’s on his way. Now, it’s just a matter of seeing if he can actually live up to everyone’s hopes.

Ben 10 Alien Headcannons
So I’ve been in a bit of a Ben 10 mood right now, and as such I’ve been going over his aliens again. And as with many of series from our childhoods, most of us eventually ask ourselves the question, “What would I do if I was in charge of this?” While I have a number of ideas, what I’m going to focus on today is simply Ben’s Aliens and their abilities, and how I would alter them to various degrees. I will also only really be looking at the Original continuity aliens, because I haven’t watched any of the new. No offense to Shock Rocks or Slapback, but I just don’t really care about them at the moment. So let’s go over his Aliens.
Heatblast: Heatblast would largely remain the same with the only major thing I’d change about him being flight. Namely, he can’t do that. He rocket himself places, but not flying like the Human torch or the weird ground thing.
Wildmutt: I really like Wildmutt. He’s good.
Diamondhead: I don’t really like his ability to summon crystals from the ground. Maybe if it was made clear that he had to be in the ground to do it I’d be more okay with it, but I’d also be fine with doing away with that.
XLR8: I’m fine with XLR8, but just make sure that it’s clear that he can’t lift much more then like a human adult.
Grey Matter: He can still climb. He’s still smart. He’s still small. He’s just fine
Four Arms: I am fine with Four Arms. Big Muscle Guy. Four Arms will actually be important to this, and Ben’s go to muscle alien, as I will be comparing all his other strength Aliens to him.
Stinkfly: He’s fine the way he is.
RipJaws: He’s fine
Upgrade: He’s fine.
Ghostfreak: I won’t really change what Ghostfreak does. Just how he is used. Ben will never be fully in control of Ghostfreak. I’m fine with Teen Ben being able to fight off Ghostfreak pretty will, but it always has to be a battle to stay in control.
Cannonbolt: He’s fine.
Wildvine: None of the weird plant merging he does in “The Visitor”. No Regeneration. He can stretch his body. He can create thorns. And he has those Seed Bombs. That’s it.
Blitzwolfer: I’d probably have kept his name Benwolf.
Snare-Oh: So Snare-Oh is the first of the aliens that have a power very similar to a previous alien (Wildvine in this case). So in order to differentiate them, Snare-Oh won’t really stretch. His power will be the fact that he is made up of bandages, and while they may naturally rest in the humenoid form, they are not not solid. That can then be used to still do his rapping stuff, but still make him different then Wildvine.
Frankenstrike: He’s overall fine, but his magnetic abilities would only be limited to himself. He’s not going to be static who can move metal with ease. He can stick himself to metal, but that’s it. He still has his lightning powers to the same extent shown in the original series.
Upchuck: None of this shared dimension stuff from Omiverse. His deception in the original was fine.
Ditto: They don’t share pain.
Eye Guy: All he has is eye lazers. No combination eyes. No flames or freeze powers. He can shoot lazers out of his whole body and a big one from his chest, but that’s it.
Way Big: He fine as a giant laser blasting man.
Swampfire: For this look he’s create explosions, not straight up fire. He could light himself on fire and then use his natural gases to create explosions. And with that would come regeneration abilities. No plant controlling powers however. That just seems like an desire to make his plantness more obvious.
Echo Echo: This is going to be a big change so hear me out. First off he won’t have a scream like Benwolf. Instead Echo Echo will be able to create any sound. After hearing something he can match the sound perfectly. He can also just create super loud high pitch screams. No actual force behind it. Just very loud. The other major change is that their are 5 Echo Echos. No more. No less. In this world they will all be considered one creature with them being controlled in a hive mind. So no extra duplication. Echo Echo is also not in a suit. His body is actually an exo-skeleton. Very Natural.
Humungousaur: No Size manipulation. Let’s keep him at 20 ft. He is stronger then Four Arms, but slower. He’s speed would be comparable to a human. To move to the re-boot for the moment, I actually like the idea of his tail being a weapon. Let’s bring that in as well.
Jetray: This is going to sound odd, but Jetray will not be able to fly. He can swim very fast, and he can glide. But for this he will be like the Gargoyles in Gargoyles. His lasers will be paralyzing rays. No real physical damage.
Big Chill: I'm cool with Big Chill flying and turning intangible. My change would be how his cold powers work. He can only freeze things when he passes through objects. And whenever he passes through objects he freezes them no matter what.
Brainstorm: So, we are keeping the super intelligence thing and the whole breathing under water, but let’s re work the combat stuff. I’m thinking literal storms. Like, it produces a storm and the more it thinks the more intense the storm becomes. So no general electric production and no shield things.
Spidermonkey: I’m fine with Spidermonkey with one odd exception. It’s been noted before that Ben seems to be more humorous as Spidermonkey. I would, like Rath, stress the idea that spidermonkey changes his personality. But this in the smaller way of Ben just finding the humor in situations more often.
Goop: I think Goop is fine without the acid. Kind of like what they did with him in Ominverse. Just have is power be his unique body.
Alien X: Like Ghostfreak before, he’s edit should be to how he is used. Ben should never just have full control over it. When Ben turns into Alien X the nature of the battle should shift. The fight is no longer about who is stronger Ben or the Enemy. The fight should now be about Ben’s logic, debating, and diplomatic skills. So Ben must always convince his two others to cooperate, not just to let Ben have full control.
Nanomech: The only power I’d give him would be to make him have a telepathic link with the alien chip swarm. While Nanomech is independent, he was made from an device that communicated as a hive mind. So the hive cannot control Nanomech and he cannot control the hive, but they always know what the other is thinking.
Lodestar: I’m cool with his magnet powers although I’m not the biggest fan of his body being made up of little magnets.
Rath: On the scaling of Fourarms, he is as strong as Fourarms, and faster, and more durable, but he is, of course, dumb as rocks and super aggressive.
Water Hazard: So...I have ideas. So we've seen that he can absorb water from the air, so let's exspand on that. What if he got bigger as he did that and maxed out at like Fourarms size. Like, his plates move and shift to work for the newer body.
Terraspin: Like Spidermonkey, the only change I’d give is to make Terraspin more thoughtful. Not passive or smarter, but to just think and ponder thinks more.
Armodrillo: I’m not the biggest fan of earth control that he seems to have. I’m cool with him being a good digger and for him to vibrate to create earthquakes, but to shot out rocks like he can seems wrong to me.
NRG: Let's give him the ability sense Radiation as well as his normal Radiation blasts, absorbing energy, super heat, and flight. I’m giving him all this ro create a bigger difference from Atomix. Atomix is just the raw radiation power house. NRG is a larger spectrum of stuff he can do with it.
AmpFibian: While it’s not the first Electric alien that can breath underwater, let’s run with that anyway for a second. So similar to an electric eel, what if the electricity it makes is designed to work underwater. Like, Ampfibian can use his powers outside of water, but they are much stronger in water. And I do like the idea that he can sense and detect electrical impulses (that could simply be how he communicates to others of his species under water), but for the whole mind reading thing let’s make that a challenge. Ben can “hear” the electrical impulses of the brain, but he might not know what they mean. He’ll need to practice with Ampfibian more often to fully understand the language of the brain sense they are not technically telepathic. Also cool swimmer and no flight or electric intangibility.
Fasttrack: So, going off his cat idea, let’s make him more like a cheeta. He’s a sprinter who can reach speeds almost as fast as XLR8, and he even does so silently, but he can only do it for so long before he runs out of energy and needs to catch his breath. XLR8 doesn’t need to do that, and is still generally faster. And to make the difference greater, let’s say that Fasttrack’s species are big into hunting like most cats, so he can have very solid eye sight and hearing.
Eatle: This is another one that is getting a bit of a rework due to having such a similar ability to the Upchucks. So let’s keep the eating thing but take it in a new way. You are what you eat. Let’s say his normal shell is highly unstable, but once he eats something with his strong jaw, his exo-skeleton becomes that. He can also shed it at any time.
Clockwork: I’m going to cut down on exactly what Clockwork seems to be able to do. So Let’s say he can slow down time, but all he can do is perceive the world at this slowed pass. He can’t actually have his sudden super speed. I also like his aging abilities. And I actually really like having the ability to show what happened in the past that he does once.
Jury Rigg: fine as is
ChamAlien: I’m actually going to keep him the same.
Shocksquatch: Let’s keep him super strong (but not as strong has Four Arms), and let him be able to produce very high electrical charges, but he can’t use them as a projectile. So he can add a high power shock to his melee combat and have to electricity travel through conductors, but not really air.
Bloxx: For this, I'll be stealing an idea from Inktank and the Web Comic 5 Years Later. In that Bloxx is not so much a lego gorilla as he is a creature that just produces blocks. I personally like this a lot more.
Feedback: So let's make it so that it can't generate its own electricity. Or if it can only a mild charge. So it can still do all the things you remember, massive energy absorption and redirection.
Crashhopper: You're good jump man.
Gravattack: I’m actually pretty fine with Gravattack.
Arctiguana: He’s fine as is.
Ball Weevil: I think the Katamarri idea is a really cool Idea, but let’s edit it a little bit regardless. He can only absorb things smaller then the size of his Plasma Ball, but he can make his plasma balls fairly big, and once it is absorbed it creates a bigger explosion.
Walkatrout: So, Walkatrout my actually be my favorite Alien Design in concept and design in Omiverse. This is because you can see how evolution made him the way he is and not just that he’s a design with a super power. Yes, he was a joke, but he was also a species in the universe that I can believe happened easily. Nothing about him changes. He is slippery. He can walk. And he can breath air. If any change had to be made, I’d say that it’s difficult for him to breath only in air to show that this was a skill designed for avoiding predators.
Pesky Dust: Pesky Dust is cool. No changes to what the power does, but instead to have them function. Yes, they can delve into memories, but that’s it. Not current thoughts.
Mole-Stache: So, I’m going to steal a power from JoJo’s Bazaar Adventure for a second. While Mole-Stache can already make his hair grow and control it from there like Yukako Yamagishi, I sat let him grown out his fiscal hair a little bit more then normal, but then let him cut off his hair. He can then control it remotely. That way he can still be a hair guy, but now he can be not just functionally a stretchy guy.
The Worst: No powers. Come on show. Be bold enough the actually make an alien have no powers. And just have him be The Worst. He’s slow, weak, and as dumb as Rath.
Kickin Hawk: So, Let’s remove the humanoid elements from it. For this we’ll make this species just a large feathered raptors. Basically like a large monstrous emu or ostrich. So let’s keep it beast like, it can’t talk like Wildmutt. It also attacks with it’s feet which are itself powerful enough to crack Diamondhead’s crystal body. It’s long neck is also very weak.
Toepick: So, I like the idea that Toepick's only power is being absolutely grotesque. But the problem is I just have no idea how that would work. How would a physical appearance produce such visceral reactions in everything? With presumably different beauty standards throughout the galaxy, it's just something I have trouble rapping my head around.
Astrodactyl: So what if it couldn't fly in the sky? So hear me out. What if Astrodactyl is designed to travel through empty space, but not air? Like it can still use it's jetpack to propel itself upwards, but actually flight in an atmosphere is impossible for it. Aside from that, let’s keep the electric whips and the energy pulse thing it can produce from the jetpack.
Bullfrag: Just a tall human. Like, I think the idea that Bullfrag's power is just that they're an Incursion. Given the fact that the Incursions should be a constant threat to the universe, having a form that can walk through their ranks unencumbered should be a power in and of itself.
Buzzshock: Do you guys know Red Hot Chilipepper? Like the Jojo stand? Let's go with that. Electric Power. Able to travel through currents. But gets weaker the longer they go without being in a current.
Atomix: As I alluded to this with NRG. Atomix can only really produce Radiation blasts. They are extremely powerful, probably one of the strongest Ben bested only by Way Big or Chromastone/Feedback depending on what they absorbed, but that’s still basically it.
Whampire: Like many others, let’s streamline his powers. Enhanced Strength, Flight, and mind control eyes. Let’s also go hard core. He just eats blood, and can smell the blood of most creatures that have an equivalent he can eat.

Book1 Hope Returns Chapter16 Fitz By goldstone golem64
in the bridge
“Liberating the Balmera will not be a easy task”Allura said
“So what’s the plan ? "Jay asked
“We go in and go pow pow pow and free the prisoner ” lance said
“What was that noise ?” Keith asked
“laser guns ”lance said
“no lance I think you mean kapow kapow vvvvv boom”hunk said
“no those sound like fireworks” lance said
“technically they're move like puacku puacku puacko” Pidge said
“Enough of the bad sound effects besides its more like blam blam blam”Shiro said
The group began to argue about laser sound leaving Adam and Jay to laugh
“So this is why you were going to marry him he’s great with kid” Jay said smiling
“ yes along with other things “Adam said
“you guys planning on having kids when this is all over ?”Jay asked
“yeah after all this me and shiro need something normal in our lives we may adopter another galra kid or some other race or just go with a human kid”Adam said
“wait another galra kid what do you mean by that” Jay asked confused
Adam pointed to the knife Keith had "the symbol on the knife match something I read while I was in the med bay waiting to recover from the crash it was from one of the info table something about a group of assassins who had blades look like the one Keith has but the name of the group was never said and If I remember were Keith used to live it was a few miles from the crash site of the ship that brought the blue lion. The ship crashed twenty years ago and left the earth three years later. Keith is eighteen and his mom left when he was one.” Adam said
“so are you going to tell him or have you done that already?” Jay asked
“No not yet I told Shiro and that is it .I'm wait for the right time to tell him but that might have to wait a little bit longer I just want to double check before I tell him. I don't want to throw him off before the mission” Adam said a little worried
“Alright just tell him when your ready”
“Hey Jay can you prove a point?” Lance asked
“what is it lance” Jay replied
“what dose a laser gun sound like” lance said
standing up from the box he was siting on and throwing the bottle of water he had into the air and pulled out his Bayard and like his normal revolver he fanned the hammer as he fired it . A crackling whistling sound rang though out the room right before the bottle exploded on impact from the bolt of energy.“Sorry your all wrong that is what a real laser gun sounds like” Jay said blowing off the smoke from the mussel of his Bayard . trying to be cool he spun the Bayard round like a cowboy from a the old western movie he watch as a kid and completely fuck up putting it back in the holster by missing the holster completely almost shot himself in the foot.
Everyone laughed at that only to be intruded by Allura who was mad that they were not taking the situation seriously.
“Sorry princess” Shiro said
“so with the balmera being a live and in poor heath we cant just run and gun” Hunk said
Yes with the galra are just taking the crystal that are the life force of the balmera with out performing the rejuvenation ceremony to replace what they take.” Coran said
“So what is the plan then. if we can’t just go in guns blazing what do we do” Jay asked
“We Draw the soldier to the surface and fight then there” Shiro suggested
“No we attack the mining equipment on the surface and that will do the trick” Hunk said
“one problem we don't know how many soldiers that will remain in the tunnels if we attack the mining equipment” Keith said
“What about the blip tech “Allure said
“the what?” Adam asked
“the Biothermal life indicator point “ Jay said like it was common knowledge
“How did you know that” Hunk said confused
“Remember I'm not from earth and im half altean I learn this stuff in school. Just like I know how to pilot a ship”Jay replied
“You learned how to fly in public school” Shiro ask
“Yes because we need to learn these skill just in case the garrison or the galra attack and so we can back. So in high school we learn to fly and to handle fire arms basically it a military school with more of a focuses on things that actually help you in life ”Jay said
“ok back to the plan with Valkyrie’s building invisibility and the modifications pidge as done to the green lion giving it cloaking as well we cane drop the drone faster and there is also a power generator we need to take out” Allura said
“I'm down to drop the drone with pidge if you wants me to” Jay said
“no I can do it myself” Pidge said with a little edge to her voice
“ok short stack no need for the anger" Jay said
“I will take out the power generator“ Shiro said
“I'm coming with you”adam said
“So coran where are you and Allura going to be during all of this?”Pidge asked
“We will be in the clouds.do to the fact that the castles is still weak for sendak’s galra crystal. So we will be play the support roll for this mission” coran said
“alright Now with every set lets go team”Shiro said
Heading to the hanger bay Jay texted Nyma and Rolo about the stupid thing they were about to do with No responds. Jay didn't care all that much by he did this with his family every time he when on a salvage job so it just felt right . Going in to Valkyrie’s cockpit jay starting the ignition sequence and watched the Prometheus leave the hanger and follow behind meeting up with the lions. They make their decent on the planet serval structures began to fire on then
“alright team focus and keep in mind that the balmare can’t be harmed” Shiro said
Pidge broke off from the main group to drop the drone. As for the rest they began to fight the structures. Lance took out several of the structures with the lion’s tail cannon. Hunk smashed though other structures , Adam and Keith were fighting off Strikers. Jay had Val transform in to her humanoid form crushing one of the cannon under her foot and using the new weapon it look like a staff with the top of it looking like the original weapon the robeast had then he launched the ball in to other cannons and some striker that were dumb enough to go after him. As for Shiro he wonder about how he was going to take out the generator then suddenly the black lion’s jaw blade display appeared. Understanding what the black lion it wanted summoning the blade Shiro flew though the arcs cutting though them until the power generator exploded. Meanwhile pidge finish off dropping the drones across the Balmera enabling the castle of lions to map out the life forms inhabiting it.
“this is to easy I don't like it” say said
“Don't jinx it “Lance said
“look out” Adam yelled Dodging a massive blast of energy
“the main cannon is still online how” Keith say dodging another blast from it
“My guess is it has its own power generator Jay said launching a ball that exploded on contacted with the cannon
only to see the red lion fire a heat ray from it mouth melting though the tower the cannon was on.
“that was awesome” Keith said
“Why don't I have anything like that” lance said jealously
“Guy the towers coming down 'Shiro said
Hunk and jay tried to hold up the falling tower the best they could. As the two struggled to hold the tower lance flew in to action at the prodding of the blue lion and fired a frost ray coating the falling tower in ice stop the collapse.
“ok now that was cool and it suits me so well” lance gloated
The balmera when silent with no galra troops insight the current battle was over.
“Good job team we made quick work of this now Princess what's are next step?” Shiro asked
“alright there is a hangar bay full of enemy strikers , a prison camp deeper under ground and one prison camp closer to the surface of the balmera with one prisoner currently there ” Allura said
“Ok then Keith and lance go to the hanger hunk go to the prison close to the surface Pidge and Adam try and take out as many sentries and get and civilians out of there and Jay” Shiro Said
“I know i know go to the prison camp deeper underground scrape as many bots has I can and free the prisoners right” Jay said
“Alright if we all know are objectives. lets do this "Shiro said
At Zarkon’s central command system
“Commander Prorok Voltron is at the balmera just like you predicted” A galra soldier said
“Good now thace tell sub commander Ylvik to move in an capture Voltron” Prorok Said
“Shouldn't we tell emperor Zarkon about this?” Thace asked
“I will tell the emperor myself ”Prorok said with a smile.
Back at the balmera
each team made it to their objective. When Adam left the Prometheus beau took control and lifted the ship up from the ground and started to fly around making shore no one got the drop on then. Jay had left the Valkyrie on his speeder down the tunnel then told her to help beau watch the skies. Going down the dimly lighted tunnels was kinda unsettling for jay he only got off the speeder when the tunnels got to small for the speeder to pass through. Walking down the tunnels was even more unsettling. the map he was using was telling him he was about four mile from the prison camp witch was not good for him because even if he ran at his fastest and stretched out all his legs it would still take him a hour and a half to get to the camp. He needed to find a shorter route. His thought process was intruded by the voice of a young boy yelling
“get off me you metal headed morons” the kid said
Jay pecked his head around the corner of the tunnel and was three sentries and a galra solider with a mask over his face and a rob on. Jay though about how he going to save the boy from the small group of galra. but when we was thinking up a plan he saw the sentries raising their blasters about to shoot the kid. Jay acted on instinct he ran from the tunnel he was in and fired his Bayard at the group hit all three of the sentries and hitting the solider in the left leg and right arm. Giving the boy a chance to jump on him and started to punch the hell out of the Robed man . Jay made shore the sentries were offline before he pulled the kid off the solider who’s face look like it was hit with a sledge hammer.
“Hey kid calm down he had enough” Jay said but quickly went silent after he saw the hands of the kid they were dripping with blood but that wasn't what caught his eyes the arms themselves were made jade all the way up to the boy’ s shoulder then they started to turn back to the normal. which to jay made no sense
“Why he had my dad and I in that camp and he’s been trying to kill me for the past three weeks” the kid yelled.
the boy looked like he was about ten to eleven and he looked like he hadn't eaten or bathed in like a week or so. as well has the weird jade color horns on the kids head
” Ok one you look like shit two how long has you dad been in prison , three what is your name and four what were they doing to you down there ?” Jay asked
“I’m Fitz ,my dad and I have been in prison for the past four years I got out three week ago but he didn't.” Fitz put his right arm on to his left and rubber it up and down turning his head to the galra solider.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to tell that the galra were experimenting on the people Shiro was the perfect example of galra code of ethics. walking up to the man with the broken face and mask and saw the man was still breathing. Jay didn't want this robed man to come back to fight him. so jay had to do one thing he pulled out handcuffs and clamped the to the robed mans wrist and legs
“that was a little excessive ” Fitz said
“Yes but you can never be to careful. plus he wont hurt you anymore and as long as your with me nothing will ever again. Now let’s get you to you father “Jay said
Fits nod and hugged jay”thank you”
“now do you know a way to the camp that wont get us notice by the sentries?” Jay asked
“I do follow me”Fitz said running to a hole in the wall “I was going to use this hole here before the galra caught me. it was the hole i used to get out of the camp my dad and I were trying to get out together but the guards grabbed him as he was getting into the tunnel after me .But why are you trying to get in to the camp mister?” HE asked
“First my name is Jay second I'm a paladin of Voltron and were trying to save your planet” Jay replied
“What is Voltron?”
“Its a huge robot made up of five smaller robot lions but I pilot a robot dragon the turns in to a smaller version of Voltron”
“That weird “Fitz said
“Yes It Is” Jay said
The two kept on talking as they went in to the hole they were met by a slope that they slide down.as the two slid down the tunnel. the map jay was use said that he was going to the camp fast then the original plan. then they exited the tunnel to find themselves in a cell.
Fitz looked around the room looking for some one “Where is he”
“no clue but I guess they moved him to a new cell” Jay said looking around the room and saw the door was bend outwards he guessed that Fitz dad was a fight just like his son”
“we have to find him “Fitz said his voice cracked
“Alright just get behind me” Jay said raising the Bayard and fired it in to the door.
The door was blown backward. Catching the attention of the guard of this cell block it walk to the door only to be punched by a balmeran child then it was shot by the bigger person it saw in the cell. it tried to call for reinforcements but no one was come the were all send to deal with the other intruders then it saw the barrel of the bigger one’s gun then it shut off
“thank you guys for being the best distractions a guy could ask for” Jay though to himself then walked to a console that may open the door. placing his left hand on the console and all the doors open letting out other balmerans who had parts of there bodies changed to other minerals .they all stared at jay then they all start to run out of the room Fitz stood there wait to see his dad but the room empty and the sound of other doors being open and sentries being smashed to bit .Fitz ran around the cell block looking in to each cell. when he left the room jay followed behind him in to the main lobby of the prison camp and saw more balmerans running out of other four block. Then Fitz ran in to the next block looking for his dad this happened for the next two blocks the two stood in the front of the last blocks door Jay was scared that Fitz was about to be heart broken but he open the door the block was empty after all the balmerans had ran out Fitz was running to each cells only stopping in front of one door that scared jay even more.
“Hey buddy what is wro” Jay stopped in his tracks and saw a body of a man hanging by a chain he walked over and brought the body down and checked the man’ vitals he was dead . Jay looked up at Fitz to see his reaction. Fitz was just standing there tears running down his face ,fists clenched and his eyes were closed. Jay did the one thing he could think of at that moment he walked over to Fitz and picked the boy up sat down and held the grieving child in his time of need it was the only thing jay could do for Fitz . But Jay still had a mission to do and he had to meet up with the other . so jay stood up letting go of Fitz. But Fitz didn't let go of jay he just held on to him tightly not want to lose some one else today. So before they left Jay walked back to a console he used to let out the first cell block of prisoners and started to download the lab report of the experiments that happened down here hoping pidge can unlock the files so he could read them then they made his way to the core.
“ I was to late to save him I failed him” Fitz said
“Are you alive” Jay asked
“Yes” Fitz said
“Then you didn't fail him a parents job is to make shore their children lives along a happy life and has long as your alive Your father dead was not in vain and as long as I live I will try to make shore you live the life your father would have wanted you to live.” Jay said holding back tears
Fitz hugging jay a little tighter ”Hey can I go with you when this is all over”?
“I don't see why not and I would be a horrible parson if I left you here with no one to watch you” Jay said
They make there way to the other unaware of the trap they were walking in to

ZENOSYNE
Zenosyne (noun): The sense that time appears to be moving faster and faster--especially as one grows older--speeding towards the inevitable conclusion that will arrive unexpectedly soon.
Support the AO3 release here.
Content Warnings: magical violence, blood, disturbing descriptions, body horror
Marvin gathered his hair in a loose, messy ball behind his head, clamping a black hair tie in his teeth. He walked past his phone, which was currently open on a video call on Messenger. His friend, a young, green-haired college student, was on the other side of the call, his camera pointed up at a weird angle. He seemed to be wading through a tight crowd, as heard by the low chattering in the background.
“Jackie, it’s probably fine. It was a handful of students that saw whatever you’re talking about and half of them were drunk,” Marvin dismissed, pulling the hair tie tight around his hair. “Maybe it was a trick of the light or something?” His friend sighed, not looking at the camera and instead watching his own surroundings. “I mean, I guess? But to have seven different people describe the same concept? Isn’t that a little weird?” Jackie whispered, his voice vibrating against the earbuds’ microphone. The magician shrugged. “I mean, I guess? I don’t know if we should be worried about it, though.” “You’re the expert on this stuff, dude. I just shoot sparkles out of my hands and, you know, help you protect the city.”
Marvin laughed, leaning over to the other side of his desk and grabbing a pen and a pad of sticky notes. “And you’re the best at it, truly.” He settled in front of the camera, preparing to write. “Okay, describe what they saw again?”
Jackie paused, looking around to make sure no one was listening in. His voice dropped to a hushed tone and he leaned closer to his microphone. “Two meters tall, dusty grey color. One guy described it as a walking, tumor-looking mass of flesh and wood? And everyone said they saw pieces of clocks and gears sticking out of it.” Marvin scribbled down his notes on the pad, taking a sip of his tea. “Oh yeah, and they said the longer they looked at it, the louder they could hear this echoing ticking sound surround them and time felt almost warped,” the student finished, looking down at the camera with furrowed eyebrows.
Marvin pulled the sticky note off the pad and stuck it on his computer monitor. He cocked an eyebrow at the last bit about time. “Alright, I’ll look into it,” he sighed, turning back to his phone.
“A’ight, sounds good. I’ll keep an eye out and continue talking to the people who saw it.” Jackie nodded. He seemed to shift, pulling a hand closer to the camera and wincing. “Fuck, I’m late for my lecture. I’m gonna let you go,”
“That’s alright. See you later, mate.” And with that, the video call ended. Marvin groaned and rubbed his face. Somehow he knew having just one uneventful week was way out of his league. He leaned back in his chair and picked up his phone, scrolling through it with his mind thinking about other matters. He couldn’t recall ever reading about a demon that fit that description and he contemplated looking into his grimoire. Marvin scrolled down on his phone to reveal the clock. Twenty minutes until a live interview with Channel 5.
Marvin stood up and dusted himself off, clearing his throat. He lazily stepped toward the door, picking up his satchel that held his keys, wallet, and a few miscellaneous items. Instead of opening the door, he put his hand up, summoning the soft, warm touch of his magic at his fingertips. He took a calming breath and released a ball of violet energy at the door, plastering it to the white surface. “Rockefeller Street alley,” he commanded. The magic twisted and pulsated, finally forming a portal to a damp back alleyway. He stepped through the portal without a second thought. A second after the magician pulled his foot through, the magic faltered and the portal closed.
-
“Thank you, sir, come again!” a young storekeeper trilled, a sleepy yet kind smile on her face. Marvin thanked her with a wave and grabbed the plastic bag containing his dinner, walking out of the sliding glass doors.
The sun had set an hour ago, setting the streets of downtown Brighton in a comforting twilight. There was still water on the ground from the rainfall before and Marvin’s boot splashed in a puddle. He put his headphones in his ears and clicked absentmindedly on his phone, turning on his favorite playlist on Spotify. Hard snare and violin strokes opened the song and he pocketed his phone.
The evening was always the most enjoyable for walks around the city. His thoughts were the quietest and he could just relax with the passing streetlights and the bustling energy of happy uni students and…
Hold on a moment, where was everyone? Marvin slowed to a halt and glanced around. He was walking on one of the main streets, yet there was no one around him. The stores around him were all dark and empty as if they were closed. It wasn’t even that late, how could that be? He looked down at his watch to check the time. The hands on his wristwatch were spinning wildly, round and round on the clock’s face at a mile a minute. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and he felt the sparks of magic start to form around his other hand.
“Diaaaaaa…blerrrrieeee...”
The growling voice seemed to come from everywhere, yet nowhere at the same time, ricocheting in his brain like a bullet. Marvin’s heart jumped into his throat and he froze, trying to pinpoint the mysterious presence. The walls of the stores around him looked as if they were morphing and melting together and he had to force himself to remain calm.
“Show yourself!” Marvin commanded, the pang of an energy blast spell gathering in his left hand.
“I fou...nd… you…”
The magician spun around, locking his eyes with what seemed to be a seven-foot beast, the face of a grandfather clock protruding where its head should be. The creature clunked forward from the dark alleyway, the streetlight shining on its grotesque fleshy body with each step. It had no visible mouth, yet Marvin was sure it was almost smirking at him. A high pitched ticking noise invaded his ears and it took all of his willpower not to cover his ears and cower.
Marvin wasted no time, jumping back and firing a blast of pure energy at the demon, keeping a tight grasp on his shopping bag. The creature bent down, dodging the blast and using the momentum of the dodge to launch itself into the air. The magician rolled out of the way just as it came crashing down inches away, denting the sidewalk with its weight. With terrifying speed, the demon recovered and swung its forelimb outward, scratching Marvin’s coat and shirt with its knife-sharp claws, barely missing his torso. Buttons and fabric ripped apart and fell to the ground as he jumped back, quickly firing another blast of violet magic from his fingertips. The spell connected, burning a sizeable hole into the demon’s shoulder. Ink-like blood oozed out from the wound. The beast howled an ear-ringing cry and then, with unexpected speed, threw itself at the magician.
Marvin flew back with a hrk! and toppled onto the ground, his plastic bag flying out of his hand. Just as he attempted to recover from the hit, his opponent landed on top of him, trapping him under its massive tumor-like body. Its face was inches away from his and it emitted a mind-numbing screech. Marvin recoiled, his ears stinging like they were going to explode. The ticking became more violent, every second slamming into him as if it were his last.
With the last of his energy, Marvin pulled his arms up and wrapped his fingers around the creature’s throat tight. Sparks of magic played at his fingertips and he growled, trying to summon the spell. Consciousness started to escape from him, and at the last second, his hands released a powerful blast straight into the beast’s throat. The incessant screeching cut off and the creature on top of him choked on the magic. Another blast left his hands, and another one. With each attack, the demon whimpered, its muscles growing weaker. One more and the thing dropped next to him, motionless.
The magician pulled his hands away, his palms burning from overclocking his powers. He must have held his breath during the fight, given that he was now gasping for air. Marvin waited for his lungs to reach a normal breathing speed, finally sighing and pushing the demon’s massive limb off of him. He stumbled upwards, inspecting his attacker. It wasn’t dead, not quite, but he couldn’t just leave it here. The thought of killing it right here crossed his mind, but he decided against it. It would be better if he trapped it, interrogated it.
Marvin let out an exhausted sigh and pulled out his phone from his pocket. The screen was cracked to hell and he waved his hand over it, magic encasing it until the glass repaired itself. He pressed the power button and scrolled until he found Jackie’s phone number. Marvin clicked the call button and waited, keeping his gaze on the motionless demon.
After a few seconds, the call clicked and his friend’s worried voice rang through. “Hey, is everything okay?” Jackie murmured, wind slapping against his speaker.
Marvin rubbed his face with his free hand. “Uh, yeah. Hey, if you’re not busy, come to Folley Road.
“I think I found your demon.”

TMNT S02E13 - Return of the Technodrome
It’s been a whole season - not a long one, but a season - since the Technodrome went sailing into Dimension X, and Shredder had to spend several episodes trying desperately to impress Krang into helping him.
So whatcha say that giant white ball cause more trouble?
It’s a slow day at Channel 6, which basically means that there hasn’t been a world-threatening crisis in the past six hours, and Burne Thompson is probably threatening to fire everything in the building, including his potted plant. You know, the staff at this building must have pure Valium running through their veins, or they’d constantly be on the verge of nervous collapse.
Burne demands that April go out and “make” news, whatever that means. Should she somehow produce a natural disaster? Commit a crime?
Irma reeeeeaaally wants to see the Turtles again, implicitly because they’re male and didn’t run at the sight of her. April tries to brush her off despite Irma having actually collaborated with them in the last episode. “Irma, the Turtles are NOT the most exciting thing in my life!” Yes, they are.
Meanwhile, Splinter is going off on a retreat, and Donatello is wearing pink for some reason.
April pops in to ask if there’s anything interesting happening that she can exploit, and she’s so desperate that she even asks if Splinter leaving is something newsworthy.
Meanwhile, Krang has finally had enough of Shredder’s screwups, and is preparing to invade Earth. Wait, why does he want to invade Earth? I thought his priority at the end of last season was to conquer Dimension X, and it was SHREDDER who wanted to conquer Earth. Did Krang already do that, and now he wants a fresh challenge?
He sends Shredder a gadget intended to direct Niagara Falls’ energy towards opening a dimensional portal. And despite whining for one more chance to kill the Turtles a few minutes ago, Shredder is now ecstatic about the Technodrome’s return.
Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady all arrive at the power station, and the portal starts opening in the sky.
Meanwhile, the Turtles say goodbye to Master Splinter for the next few days, and it’s hard not to notice something odd about Donatello.
Yep, for most of this episode he doesn’t have his wristbands on. No reason is ever given, and it’s more consistent than just an occasional animation error; it’s almost all the time. So we should just assume that he’s shamelessly flaunting his naked wrists at us.
But just as they’re about to head home, two things happen: April calls, and Leonardo gains fifty pounds in his gut.
They immediately deduce that the massive power outage in New York is actually the work of Shredder... which really doesn’t take much effort, since he is the main villain of the series.
The Technodrome is rapidly charging up, and Krang decides to be uncharacteristically nice and send Shredder some Foot Soldiers and Rock Soldiers. Did someone slip him some antidepressants?
Meanwhile, Donatello apparently hacks into Shredder’s communicator at long-distance with one little knob. If you need proof of technical genius, this is it. Also, no wristbands.
And despite saying he can’t make out the transmission, he manages to hear EVERYTHING they say. They charge out of there on the Turtle Blimp, and Leonardo argues that they shouldn’t disturb Splinter because he’s been training them for this sort of crisis. True, but considering the importance of what’s going on, methinks he wouldn’t mind THAT much.
And it’s all moot anyway, as Splinter senses the whole mess and sets out to investigate.
And since the Turtles use the stealthiest of means to sneak in - a blimp with their name on it - Bebop spots them and shoots down the glider.
They land right near the falls and are about to go over when Donatello uses a remote control function to lower the blimp towards them.
They manage to grab the one rope dangling from it, and be deposited on the shore. Bebop and the Foot Soldiers are completely missing from the shore now, which is a little weird. But that’s so Splinter can pop out of nowhere and greet them, and point out the giant glowy portal in mid-air.
Donatello comes up with a plan to cut off the power from the river/falls, and April’s idea for distracting the rock/Foot soldiers is... the sexy lady gambit. I’m not even kidding.
Even they look baffled by the idea. Donatello and Michelangelo attack and almost get squelched, but April manages to distract the easily redirected enemies. Again. For the second time in a minute.
Meanwhile, Leonardo and Raphael take on Rocksteady and yet more Foot/Rock Soldiers,
And this is Leonardo in full “you’re my bitch now” mode. Rocksteady throws him off and charges at the two Turtles, only to get a faceful of insta-sleep-stuff from Splinter.
And a layering issue too.
Donatello somehow manages to shut down the entire river... don’t ask me how... which cuts off the power to the portal. Krang has to compensate with extra power from his end, and the Technodrome heads right through towards Earth.
Krang immediately deploys more soldiers and vehicles to attack and surround the Turtles, who don’t have the faintest idea what they can do to save themselves.
Krang decides he wants to shoot the Turtles himself, using the Technodrome’s weaponry, and aims a giant laser at them... only for it to putter out without firing. While Krang swears that this has never happened before and he definitely doesn’t need pills, it turns out that he’s drained the Technodrome to the point where the weapons don’t work.
Also, that army there a few minutes ago? Gone now.
As they’re chased down by Bebop and Co, Leonardo (or Donatello, it’s hard to tell when the voices get switched) summons the blimp yet again.
And remember how earlier Bebop was able to bring down the glider with one shot? Now he and the Foot Soldiers can’t shoot the ENTIRE BLIMP with multiple shots.
“They’ve escaped again! Oh, this is getting VERY monotonous!” Shredder really calmed down fast there. Krang sucks in more of that sweet hydroelectric power, and reveals that he’s planning to create seismic events that will lead to New York being evacuated, then taking over it when everyone is gone and using it as a base of operations to conquer everything else.
He broadcasts a message commanding everyone to leave the city, and threatens a stronger quake that will level every building. As the Turtles rush out, Splinter says portentously, “And so begins the final battle.” Oh, you wish, Splinter. This show has six more seasons of battling these guys, plus a vacation side-season.
The Turtles track down the Technodrome once again, and we get an idea of just how huge it is.
Donatello blasts a hole in the Technodrome’s armor (after another I-swear-this-has-never-happened-before moment) and they head inside. Donatello is focused on stopping the earthquakes, but Splinter is busy having a Jedi moment.
Shredder also senses Splinter, and the two of them head off to fight.
Donatello finds the control center and starts rewiring everything in it, while the other Turtles have to fight Rocksteady, Bebop and a bunch of Foot Soldiers.
“Hamato Yoshi is no longer. There is only Splinter.” I love consistent characterization. That wasn’t sarcasm; I love this moment.
Back in the control room, the lights go out and there’s a bunch of fighting in the dark, and Donatello isn’t entirely sure he managed to fix the problem. Of course, he should have had plenty of time based on what happened to their foes.
Why did they tie up the Foot Soldiers? They’re robots. Just smash ‘em.
The city hasn’t been evacuated, so Krang tries to set off another earthquake. All that happens is that a giant laser blasts the bridge that Splinter and Shredder are standing on...
... which forces Splinter to crawl up the platform vertically, and leaves Shredder hanging by his cape. That is the worst place for a laser EVER.
The Turtles have just escaped from the Technodrome when they realize that Splinter is still inside... how do they keep forgetting that?... just as their master comes springing out.
It turns out that Donatello’s rewiring has led to the Technodrome sinking right through the Earth’s crust, and Krang has no way to actually stop it.
I’m pretty sure landing in lava would melt it, but who cares? Krang is busy screaming that this is all Shredder’s fault (though I’m not sure how) as they float downstream on the magma.
VERDICT:
This is a nice solid episode with a heavy emphasis on action. It basically does what its title promises, returning the Technodrome while focusing on the Turtles’ efforts to stop it from conquering the Earth. So there’s a good failure/success balance for the Turtles here, with them encountering obstacles along the way that they aren’t entirely successful in dealing with - they don’t stop the Technodrome’s return, but they do manage to keep it from conquering the world.
So it’s a good episode for lots of fighting, lots of confrontations with Rocksteady and Bebop (who are actually pretty intimidating here), and Donatello doing techie stuff. I felt a little let down by the lack of a real fight between Splinter and Shredder at the end, but I guess there wasn’t really time for that.
It also establishes the new status quo for the series. After Shredder being on his own and the Technodrome and Krang being safely off in another dimension, now it’s immobilized down in the depths of the Earth, and Shredder has Krang in the same general area... you know, despite Krang not being very happy with him, but what else is new? From now on, these two are a package deal, wherever the Technodrome happens to be located (and it’s going to get complicated).
One thing that was a little distracting was the animation flubs. I only touched on those, but certain scenes made the Turtles look either tubby or kinda childish. I’m still not sure why Donatello’s frequently-missing wristbands are an issue too, since this is rarely an issue in other episodes. Let’s just assume he accidentally splashed tomato sauce on them, and they’re in the wash.

Beauty and the Beast
Sequel to Roar & We Are One
The team begins their journey to free the universe from Zarkon’s rule. First up, a Balmeran named Shay…
Oh, along with her people and the Balmera they live on.
Find more. Also on: AO3 & Fanfiction
Part 5: Purr-ince Charming to the Rescue
Secrets slip out as the team works to free the Balmera.
“You think the Balmerans will have a parade for us after we've freed everybody?” Lance said as he got the Blue Lion ready to launch.
Keith’s image appeared to his right. “It's not about the glory, Lance. It's about freeing prisoners from Zarkon.”
“No, I know. I know. But still. When they-” Lance grunted as Blue suddenly shot out of the tower.
“I think Blue might still be upset,” Keith chuckled.
“This is it,” Shiro called out and the two snapped to attention. “Get your heads in the game. Remember, the Balmera is a living creature. Make sure you pinpoint only the Galra installations and not its surface.”
The team split apart and Pidge pulled away from the others. “Initiating cloak,” she called as her lion disappeared from view.
The lions started attacking the main power generator. Blue fired on the guns as Pua smashed into towers.
Shiro flew over the base, considering. “How do I take this thing down?” The console in front of him beeped as Ryou sent up a display. “What's that? Jaw blade? Okay! Let's do this!”
They shot towards the ground, a blade like the one Merla had used on Rolo’s ship appearing in Ryou’s mouth. The blade slashed a line through the generator, causing explosions down the side.
As the last of the BLIP sensors fell into a chasm, Pidge called out, “All sensors delivered.”
Meanwhile, Keith had Merla dodging around blasts from the large cannon at the head of the generator. Annoyance flickered through them both and when Keith pushed to attack, a concentrated stream of lava shot out of Merla’s mouth, burning straight through the cannon’s base.
“Whoa!” Keith cheered, and he felt Merla purr in pride. “Did you guys just see that? We got fire power!”
“Hey! I want that!”
The cannon’s base cracked and suddenly the tower was collapsing.
“Oh, no!” Keith gasped.
Hunk flew Pua underneath the tower and he caught it. “Hey, we can't let this thing hurt the Balmera.”
Inside Blue, Lance felt her nudging him and said, “I think Blue knows what to do!”
She flew forward and Blue opened her mouth, releasing a spray of freezing energy onto the tower. Ice grew up the column sealing it in place.
“Aw, snap! These rays are super cool, just like me!”
The team landed on canon, looking over their work.
“Great job, team!” Shiro praised.
A few moments passed before Keith asked, “Where are all the troops? They're not coming to the surface.”
Hunk’s image appeared next to him. “Yeah, I remember seeing a lot of Galra guys down in the mines.”
“We've located a hangar full of Galra fighters just below the surface. Someone has to take those out before they can launch.”
“They're luring us down, but we have no choice. Keith, Lance, you guys hit the hangar,” Shiro ordered. “Hunk, head to the prison to rescue Shay and the other Balmerans. Pidge and I will track down the Galra soldiers.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Ten-four.”
“On it.”
“Let's do this!”
Keith and Lance pulled their lions into a chasm near the hanger then dropped down in their speeders. They followed the map Allura provided to the hanger. They jumped out of the speeders just as Merla and Blue appeared next to them wearing their armor. The four slid down to a hidden ledge overlooking the hanger.
“The entire hangar's only being guarded by a few sentries,” Keith noted as he looked over the cavern. He summoned his bayard and he and Merla rushed forward. “Let's go!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Cool your jets, Keith!” Lance hissed, grabbing Keith by his collar. He yanked him back and Blue grabbed Merla by her tail. “Don't you remember that stuff about this Balmera thing being a sensitive animal?”
“Oh, right.”
“Yeah, so we can't just blow things up like a psycho.”
<Psycho? I’ll show you psycho.>
<Please don’t.>
“Oh, you got a better idea?”
“I do. We sneak into the control room to shut down the bay doors. That'll trap the ships in.”
“That-” Keith paused, his eyes widening. “… actually is a better idea.”
Lance smirked and the group drifted down onto a catwalk. They quietly slipped across and climbed above the control room. Keith summoned his bayard again and judged the location of the guard.
“No, no. It's over here,” Lance whispered.
“I know what I'm doing.” Keith sunk his sword into the floor and cut a circle. He gestured Lance forward and the Blue Paladin jumped on it, sending him down into the control room and crushing the sentinel.
“Keep an eye out for those guards,” he called as Keith and the cats dropped in. “I'll see if I can find a way to shut the hangar doors.”
Merla took the corner to Lance’s right while Keith took the left and Blue took the door.
Lance grumbled to himself as he looked over the controls. He tapped at random buttons before finally groaning. “I don't know what I'm doing here. It's all Galra gibberish.”
“Let me see.”
Merla’s tail ficked and she turned to see Keith looking at the panel. He set his hand on a section and it flashed red. A siren went off as the hanger doors slid closed.
“Whoa! How'd you do that?”
<Merla?>
“I… just put my hand on the handprint.”
Merla glanced at Blue, then away.
“Paladins, are you there? The Galra troops are moving down the tunnels. It looks like they're going down toward the center.”
“They must be headed to the core of the Balmera. That's where they're holding Shay.”
“They're drawing us into an ambush, but we don't have a choice if we want to save Shay. We have to follow. Lance, Keith, get to the core. I think we're going to need everyone together to get through this firefight.”
“Copy that. We're on our way,” Lance called and the two stood. Keith cut through the panel with his bayard and they all ran out, Lance shooting the door access as they left.
<Merla,> Blue hissed.
The cheetah’s ears twitched inside her helmet. She ducked her head and they both fell back.
<Merla, Pua told us about the doors here. They->
<I know,> Merla said.
<Then how would he be able to close the doors?>
<Because he is.>
<How?>
Merla met the tiger’s eyes. <He is.>
Blue froze then stumbled to catch up. <What? How? He doesn’t look->
Merla shook her head. <Not right now.>
Blue glanced at Keith. <Does he know?>
<No.>
<Do any of the others know?>
<No.>
Blue’s tail twitched as she watched the boys. <The one who brought you to Earth, was she->
<Yes.>
<Was he with her when she came?>
<No.>
Blue nodded.
“Hey, team, be careful. The Balmera is very unstable,” Pidge called through the comms.
Lance and Keith ran around a corner, to find a squad of sentinels. They ducked down as they fired on them. Blue and Merla stayed around the corner and watched Lance.
“Their shooting is destroying the Balmera. We gotta do something,” Keith called as the Balmera moaned.
Lance grunted as a blast hit the wall near him. “Well, we can't shoot back. It'll just make it worse.” He glanced towards the sentinels, his eyes trailing up and around until he turned to Keith. He hummed. He pointed at Keith, then up, towards the sentinels, himself, his eyes, then towards the sentinels again.
He watched Keith with an annoyed expression, then jumped out into the hall. He got the sentinels’ attention, then ducked behind his shield. The cats peaked around the corner to see Keith had disappeared.
A few moments later, the boy jumped down from the rafters and took down the sentinels.
Lance smiled and flashed him a thumbs up.
<How adorable.>
<Not now, love.>
They continued down the tunnel until they reached the core. They had just stepped inside, when the door slammed shut behind them.
“Not an ambush. More like a trap,” Hunk said.
“Whatever it is, keep your guard up,” Keith called back, raising his sword. Merla fell to his side and the two looked around the cavern for enemies.
Shay stepped forward and said, “The Galra, they gained knowledge that you would return to the Balmera.”
“How?” Pidge asked.
“I know not. But they set this trap just for you. I was the bait.”
“Who could have possibly known that we were heading here to save Shay?” Shiro questioned.
“Rolo!” Hunk growled. “Those liars must have told Zarkon.”
Shiro glanced towards the doors. “We have to figure out how to get out of here.”
“Wait! We have a giant Castle-ship hovering in the sky. Allura, can you please come get us?” Lance pleaded.
“How do you expect her to do that, genius?” Keith snorted.
“I don't know, maybe they got teleporters or something.”
<Beam us up!> Chip, Pua, and Blue cheered.
<What?> Ryou asked.
“We're quite occupied at the moment,” Allura grunted. “We're completely surrounded by Galra ships and we're taking heavy fire!” There was a pause then, “Paladins, you need to get out of there as soon as you can!”
“This is it! We're going to die in here. I can say bye-bye to that parade,” Lance bawled.
“Get it together, guys,” Shiro said. “Allura, we'll get there as soon as we can.”
“Perhaps my people can help us get out.” Shay placed her hand on the center column. “This is how we communicate. The Balmera senses our vibrations and sends a message to those in the tunnels.”
“Are you sure someone will be able to hear your… hand from all the way down here?” Keith asked incredulously.
“The Balmera will deliver the message.” The area around her hand glowed and the balmera groaned around them.
“Paladins, the lions are in danger! You must get back to them immediately!” A pause. “Paladins, do you copy? There's a battle cruiser locked onto us. If it fires with its ion cannon, I don't know if we can survive.”
“We're trying, Allura. Shay's pressing her hand against a wall, which apparently sends vibrations to the other rock people, who vibrate back or something? Hand talking? I guess the answer to your question is, Yes, we copy.”
<Smooth Lance,> Blue sighed.
<Should we head back or wait with them?> Chip asked Ryou.
<Stay. We won’t be able to do much to ships on our own. We’re stronger together.>
“Shay, are you sure the Balmera is sending your message?”
Shay ducked her head and a second later Shiro’s question was answered. The wall around one of the doors constricted and the door buckled in.
“Rax!” Shay exclaimed.
“We must make haste. We know a shortcut through the tunnels,” her brother said.
“Allura, stand by. We're on our way up,” Shiro called into the comms as they took off.
<Pain. Annoyance. Losing. Take it down. Can’t. What is it? Frustration. Zarkon. Dark magic! Witch! Losing. New plan? Pain.>
“We can't hold out!”
“Chip’s weakening! If the shield sustains structural damage, we're done for!”
“Pidge is right!”
“Oh, Pidge is right. I'm the one that said, We can't hold out!”
“Lance, watch your footing!”
{Voltron Shield unexpectedly disengaged. Recalling wings… Recall failed. Retrying…}
“Okay, Team Voltron, disband!”
{Recall successful. Disengaging Voltron Interlock. Voltron Interlock disengaged.}
“Guys, this isn't working. We'll never take this beast down in our lions,” Keith shouted.
“Well, forming Voltron didn't work, either,” Pidge called back.
“Not without some way to shoot all those laser eyes at once,” Lance said.
Pua jolted with an idea and an access port opened up to Hunk’s right.
“That's weird. What are you trying to tell me?” Hunk summoned his bayard and checked it against the port. “Guys! Guys, something's happening here! I-I think there's a way to take down all those laser eyes at once.”
“Well, what is it?” Pidge barked.
“Do you remember how Voltron formed that sword with Keith's bayard? I think Pua's telling me I can do the same thing with my bayard.”
“Are you sure?” Keith asked.
“Let's find out. Form thingy!” Hunk slammed his bayard into the port and twisted it.
{Yellow Bayard inserted. Action not compatible.}
<Oh Hunk,> Pua sighed.
<Did he just…> Merla snickered.
“It didn't work!”
“Because we didn't form Voltron yet,” Shiro pointed out.
“Oh, right. Yeah, I know.”
“Guys, whatever we're planning, let's hurry up and do it,” Pidge called out as the monster spotted the castle.
It growled and started towards it so Shiro ordered, “We've got to defend the Castle! Everyone, follow me. Form Voltron!”
{Engaging Voltron Interlock. Red and Green Lions connected. Blue and Yellow Lions connected. Black Lion Faceplate released. Voltron Interlock engaged. Scanning. <Pua! Nice! Pleasure! Fire!>
“It's not enough!”
“We'll have to try something else!”
{Weapon deconstructed. Yellow Paladin Hunk Voltron Bayard weapon translation filed.}
<Ugh! Dodge! Useless! Wait! Here! Hunk! Everyone!>
{Enemy identified. Multishot targets locked.}
“Are you guys seeing this?”
“Roger that.”
“Let's see what this thing can do. Engage!”
{Yellow Paladin Hunk Bayard operation accepted. Weapon formed.}
<Fire! Hahaha! Calm. Never!>
{Weapon deconstructed.}
<Victory?>
“Guys, look!”
<Pretty! Eh. Sh! You. Look. Careful! There he goes. Victory!>
{Yellow Bayard ejected. Disengaging Voltron Interlock. Voltron Interlock disengaged.}
Merla laughed as the lions flew to the castle. <Pua, your paladins always have crazy weapons.>
<Is that a compliment?>
<Considering how crazy Merla is? Yes, Pua, I believe it is.>
<Kiss a kwaila, Chip!>
Once their paladins had left the lions, the cats followed them.
<Love you too.>
Merla jumped at her sister and the two wrestled across the ground.
<Mer-> Ryou started, but the ground started to shake beneath them. The sisters pulled apart and turned to see the monster standing up.
<Oh come on!> Blue roared.
<Just die already!> Merla hissed.
“No,” Allura gasped.
The monster prepared to fire, only for its feet to sink into the ground. To the amazement of all, crystals grew up and inside the monster until it was entirely encased.
“No way,” Hunk muttered.
“The Balmera just saved us,” Coran said, turning to Allura.
She turned away and her eyes widened as she saw the crystals starting to grow across the Balmera’s surface. “Look at the crystals!”
<Shiny,> Merla purred. <I want one.>
<No, Merla,> Ryou growled.
<A little one.>
<No.>
“Oh, who's a good Balmera? You are. Who ate the big monster? You did. Yes, you did. Yes, you did.”
The group turned to see Hunk kneeling on the ground, scratching the surface like the belly of a dog.
“Dude, what are you doing?” Keith asked.
“What? It's alive, and it wuvs my scwatches,” Hunk cooed.
<I think Pua’s been replaced,> Chip joked.
Pua snorted. <I’ve shared Hunk with two Labs. I’m not the jealous type, unlike some people.>
Blue looked at Merla, who looked at Chip, who looked at Blue. They quickly noticed the others’ looks.
<You got something to say, love?>
<Both of you are green-eyed monsters.>
<Like you’re one to talk, Green.>
<All three of you get jealous,> Ryou chuffed. <Now stop fighting.>
Merla glared at her sister and love before walking away to nudge at Keith. <I want a crystal.>
“Yeah, no.”
Shiro looked up at the boy’s words. “What’s that?”
“Nothing.”
Shiro watched him for a moment before turning to Shay’s family.
The three youngest paladins were curled up with their cats in the common area when Shiro and Ryou entered.
“Hey Shiro! Where’s the others?” Keith greeted.
“Is Hunk still with his girlfriend?” Pidge teased.
Shiro’s lips twitched into a smile and said, “Coran’s helping Allura to bed. She’s still exhausted from the ceremony. And Hunk’s saying goodbye to Shay.
Pidge whistled and Lance groaned. “Lucky,” he muttered.
Shiro rolled his eyes and set his hand on Keith’s shoulder. “Can we talk?”
“About?”
“Merla.”
The serval kitten lifted her head up from where she was draped over Keith’s shoulders, blinking sleepily. <What?>
“What about her?”
Shiro tilted his head to the door and they left.
“Okay,” Keith said as they headed towards the rooms. “So what’s up?”
“How did you know Nyma tied up Lance?”
Keith ducked his head. “Rolo was gone too long. Hunk knew something was wrong too.”
“Yeah, but Hunk wasn’t jumping to his feet and running for the castle.”
Keith shrugged. “Allura said the Red Paladin was more instinctual and we both know how I get.”
Shiro crossed his arms. “There’s more to it then that.”
Keith just shrugged again.
Shiro bumped into his nephew. “Keith, you used to tell me Merla talked to you.”
Keith blushed. “I haven’t said that since I was nine! I was just making up things like kids always do.”
“You told me she called Ryou Black.”
Keith flinched. “What are you getting at?”
“Keith.”
“Shiro.”
“Well?”
<It’s okay,> Ryou growled softly, nosing the boy’s arm.
<Relax,> Merla purred, nuzzling his neck.
Keith bit his lip and scratched her head. “It only works with Merla.”
“So you really can talk to her?”
“I know it sounds crazy.”
Shiro snorted. “I spent the last year in an intergalactic gladiatorial arena. We’re currently on an ancient spaceship and fighting a war against an empire that’s conquered most the universe. My housecat turned into a liger and is basically the brain for a giant lion warship. We’ve flown straight past crazy.”
Keith snorted and Shiro wrapped his arm around his shoulders.
“Merla’s your lion. You’re supposed to have a bond with her.”
“Allura and Coran never said anything about something like this, though. And none of you guys can hear them, can you?”
“No, at least I don’t, but then you and Merla have always been closer than me and Ryou. For good reason, considering she’s been with you since you were little. Before you were even born, if my suspicions are right. When did it start? You started talking about it when you were seven, I think.”
“Um, actually I’d say… six?”
<Yeah, around then.>
“What’s it like?”
“It’s… not like she’s speaking telepathically, but more like I hear her purrs and growls and my brain translates it to something I can understand.”
“Hm…”
Keith stopped and Shiro turned to him.
“What’s up?”
“Can we not tell the others?”
“Keith, the others won’t care.”
“Shiro, please.”
“Alright, buddy. If that’s what you want.”
“Thanks.”

[Stinger]
S: At some point, I think, Soundwave and Blaster are fighting over them in Hawaii.
O: [snort]
[Intro Music]
O: Hello, and welcome to the Afterspark Podcast, an episode by episode recap of the generation 1 Transformers cartoon. I'm Owls!
S: And I'm Specs!
O: And today we're gonna be talking about episode number 16, Heavy Metal War. Let's talk about giant robots today, shall we?
S: Mm-hmm. We open in a construction site with a purple machine of some kind being moved.
O: And it's purple- clearly it's destined to be Megatron catnip.
S: We had a conversation about this.
O: [chuckles] We did.
S: I want to know what kind of world this is, like, half the time the stuff that Decepticon steal is already Decepticon purple. Or looks like it was built by them.
O: So, I don't know if you guys have seen the entirety of the Batman animated series that came out in the 90’s but there's this what episode where this guy opens a Joker themed hotel. And the reason he did this was because they had run out of money and he thought this would incite the Joker to attack the hotel, and then he would get the insurance money.
S: So it's an insurance scam.
O: Pretty much. Paint it purple and the Decepticons will come.
S: Suddenly, a sextet of lime-green construction vehicles show up on scene right out of nowhere.
O: That totally don't have purple Decepticon symbols on the front or anything, and the purple thing they've come to steal is apparently an energy disc?
S: It's not disc shaped? In any way, shape, or form, but okay!
O: The construction workers fetch their own construction vehicles to confront the Decepticon ones.
S: It's time for a demolition derby, baby!!! With construction vehicles.
O: Watch out! That dump truck has missiles.
S: They're hardcore!
O: [Laughter]
S: And, oh! Lo, look and behold, there are more purple things to steal. They steal another purple thing off a wall, and this one's called a power converter, interestingly enough. This one does, in fact, have a little satellite disk dealio on it.
O: Clearly, the construction workers got the names mixed up.
S: Yes! The construction vehicles transform into robot mode, introducing themselves as the Constructicons, and then they proceeded to fly off. And all the stuff that they stole- which got put in Longhaul’s truck bed, I pres- presumably went into subspace when he transforms, because it just poofs.
O: “Foolish man of flesh,” is my favorite insult for this episode, courtesy of Scrapper.
S: The Constructicons returned to a temporary Decepticon hideout where the other ‘Cons are waiting.
O: Megatron says something that insinuates the Constructicons were built on earth. I have so, so, so many questions about this. One: How? Two: Where did their sparks come from? And three: In a later episode, there’s an entirely different origin story for them, where they are very clearly from Cybertron.
S: Complete with mind-control tentacles. This is a theme.
O: Yeah, just in case you thought we were done with them. You're never done with mind control tentacles.
S: Definitely not in this cartoon.
O: [Laughter] Toy roll-call as all the Constructicons are listed individually: Scavenger, Mixmaster, Longhaul, Bonecrusher, Hook, and Scrapper.
S: Megatron and Starscream have another tiff. Starscream calling Megatron out on his bullshit.
O: Something along the lines of: Megatron has a plan to defeat the Autobots once and for all and Starscream’s like, “Where have we heard that before?”
S: Every episode.
O: Pretty much. I'm like, “Starscream has a point!” [Laughter]
S: Sometime later Megatron arrives at the Autobot base.
O: And the Autobots attempt to dissuade Megatron from whatever evil scheme he's got hatching and by coming to their base.
S: Cliffjumper attempts to freeze him because it's Cliffjumper.
O: Wheeljack attempts to shoot him but he's gun blows up of its own volition because it's Wheeljack.
S: Yeah. Optimus proceeds to shoot at Megatron and the two of them hold an entire conversation as Megatron does some vaguely ballet- well, vaguely air ballet-like moves in order to dodge the blasts. It's surprisingly graceful.
O: Megatron has come to challenge Optimus to a one-on-one fight and the loser must leave earth. He cites Cybertronian law for this. This is a stupid law, a really freaking stupid law.
S: The first of many. Wheeljack and Ironhide seem to support this, as it would end the war, but Cliffjumper isn't happy about it.
O: For once, I agree with Cliffjumper. I never say that!
S: Mr. Suspicious is right. Sometimes-
O: You should be suspicious of Megatron!
S: I mean a broken clock is right twice a day. So-
O: [Laughter] Every once in a while, Cliffjumper says something that is relevant or it seems to have some amount of sense.
S: It's occasionally correct, yeah. Optimus accepts the challenge and Megatron flies off.
O: Back at the Decepticon base, we see that Megatron is planning on being a Cheater McCheaterpants by using the machine assembled by the Constructicons to absorb the powers of all the other Decepticons. How are they doing this, you ask? With a power chip rectifier, of course. A thing we will never hear about again.
S: When do we ever hear about any of things ever again in the show?
O: Valid point. Starscream is hesitant and he tells Megatron that this is cheating.
S: Starscream's moral compass gets some exercise here.
O: Did he forget who he was talking to?
S:I don't know. Maybe, maybe he was channeling Skyfire?
O: [Laughter] It’s like, that one- I am convinced Skyfire is his, like, moral compass.
S: Probably. The remaining ‘Cons give up their power chip rectifiers without comment.
O: Scrapper turns on the machine for the transfer, with Megatron shouting a variety of things that sound pretty dirty without context. Mostly made up of a gratuitous use of the word, “More!” With a hefty serving of “More power!”
S: This works and Megatron orders the Constructicons to disable Teletraan 1 so it can't alert the Autobots to their deception.
O: And now Megatron can summon red lightning from his fist.
S: Through the power of being a major asshole and a huge cheating cheater.
O: [Laughter] In the Ark, it looks like Optimus and literally every single other Autobot head to the battleground, leaving no one behind to keep an eye on Teletraan.
S: This was not a good idea or well-thought-out, but apparently they all wanted to be spectators.
O: Apparently.
S: Both sides basically sit down to spectate this match.
O: Soundwave even releases his cassettes so they can watch. He pets Ravage, too. I love it.
S: It's very cute. Ironhide and Chip briefly mention the Roman gladiatorial fights.
O: In comparison to the Optimus- Megatron fight.
S: Yeah.
O: And I deeply wish I could butt in and tell Chip that Megatron was a literal fucking gladiator. I bet he'd be fascinated.
S: According to the g1 U- UK comics, he was, too, in addition to the IDW ones.
O: Yes.
S: So it’s multi-continuity.
O: Pretty much. It's later reused as backstory, both for the first IDW run and Transformers Prime.
S: Mm-hmm. And Megatron tosses Optimus over his shoulder one-handed.
O: Mm-hm! Throughout the match, the Decepticons point out which powers Megatron's using at any given moment. Starscream has the power of bombs! And his null ray.
S: Megatron uses his weird hip gun to shoot Optimus before using Rumble’s earthquake ability. Optimus Prime suplexes a boulder at Megatron, but he uses Skywarp’s teleportation ability to evade.
O: And if the Autobots had not figured out this incredibly obvious thing that was happening, then they really should have once he used Skywarp’s ability.
S: Yeah. Cutting to the Constructicons, they've made it to the volcano where the Ark is located.
O: And Scavenger’s just straight-up Ratchet’s VA doing a not-so-different voice, “Hi, Scooby.”
S: Megatron and Optimus continue to fight with Megs using Reflector’s ability to momentarily blind Optimus as he hits him with Thundercracker’s sonic booms.
O: Optimus is finally taken down by one more blast by Megatron's fusion cannon and Megatron declares himself the victor.
S: Honestly, I'm not sure how none of the Autobots couldn’t hear any of the Decepticon commentary.
O: I think that- that's a valid point, too. I’m just sort of like guys you really, really should have realized what was going on. That, and it’s Megatron. Do you really think he's going to play fair?
S: Uh-huh.
O: The Autobots head back to the Ark to fix Optimus, with the Decepticons escorting them.
S: This is not the first time, I think- or will not be the last time the Decepticons escort the Autobots to make sure they don't cheat. This is-
O: Which, I mean, irony. [laughs]
S: Hypocritical.
O: A little bit.
S: Yeah. The Constructicons make it to Teletraan 1, but not before the computer alerts the Dinobots. Who apparently stayed behind.
O: I'm not really sure why these guys were the ones left behind, they would have loved to watch the fight.
S: Probably because they would have wanted to join in on the fight.
O: Yeah, yeah, valid point. I don't think they would have taken no for an answer.
S: They’re very much guys who want to- want to get their fight on.
O: Yeah.
S: A fight ensues, with the Dinobots forcing the Constructicons out of the volcano.
O: And this episode marks the first appearance of the combiner, the ginormous Devastator! Which the Constructicons formed to fight the Dinobots.
S: Ratchet and Wheeljack succeed in fixing Optimus.
O: And then Spike and Teletraan inform the rest of the Autobots that Megatron was using the other Decepticons’ abilities, rendering their agreement null and void.
S: Outside, a giant Autobot shows up out of nowhere to scare the pants off Devastator.
O: An illusion by Hound, of course,
S: Mm-hmm, they're very- they're very handy.
O: The Constructicons are knocked into some handy lava, as are the rest of the Decepticons in the following fight with Optimus finishing off Megatron.
S: And Optimus says, “It is ended.”
O: He means for this season. The Decepticons will return with no ill effects from their lava bath in season 2.
S: It might count as a spa, even. And Megatron is pissed and vows to rise again.
O: Of course he does, and that's the end of season 1 of the Transformers. We did it! We'll be back in a month, at the beginning of season 2, but a few weeks join us as we talk about the crossover comic “Mars Attacks the Transformers.”
S: Mm-hmm.
O: And we actually have read the comic. It's quite fun, so we're looking forward to getting to talk about it.
S: Yes.
O: And, Specs, I believe we have some fanfic for today?
S: Yes, we do, we have two pieces of fanfiction to recommend. They are both Constructicon based since it's their first episode.
O: Right.
S: Might as well focus on them. So the first recommendation is Diversion by Steelcircle. It is based in the g1 cartoon continuity, it's rated K+, and it's a gen fic. There aren't any pairings, but our characters for this piece of fanfiction are Scrapper, Hook, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Longhaul and Bonecrusher, and in summary, “Bonecrusher and Mixmaster put their own spin on a human form of entertainment.” I am NOT going to spoil what that form of entertainment is, but we have actually seen it in one of our earlier recommendations.
O: All right. I haven't read this one yet so I have no frame of reference.
S: It's- it's good. it's pretty short, I definitely recommend it, and our theme for this one and the other one was Constructicons. So that's very short and it's a one shot. They're both one shots. And the second recommendation is “What are you in for” by Ckret2. It is set in the IDW G1 comic continuity, it's rated K, there is some slight shipping in it and our pairings are- the one pairing is Hook/Scrapper. The characters in this pick are Scrapper and Mixmaster, and there are actually some- some, like, mooks so who are there at the beginning and do some talking but they aren't important.
O: They’re not important, they’re not what we’re here for.
S: Yes, and in summary, “Scrapper finds himself in a holding cell for trying to help his friend, Hook, get into the medical caste, where he meets a quiet cellmate with a drum mixer on his back.”
O: Psst, it’s Mixmaster. [Laughter]
S: It is, it is. And, they're both really good and I like them and they're- that one's also a one-shot. Uh, they're short but they're good so I’d recommend them.
B: [Laughter]
S: And that's it for the fanfiction recommendations, thank you,
O: And there are no fan art today, like said we will be doing a comic next time, though.
S: Alright! And that just about wraps it up for us today. Remember to check us out on Tumblr or Pillowfort as Afterspark[-]Podcast for any additional information, show notes, or links we may have mentioned. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter at AftersparkPod (all one word) and various other locations as Afterspark Podcast such as AO3, iTunes, Google Podcasts Stitcher and YouTube, just to name a few.
