Deadass, the proliferation of online gambling and sports betting has been one of the worst things to happen to the sports world and the culture at large
You’re not allowed to build a casino in NL because of its parasitic effects on local communities, but there’s a slot machine at the BOWLING ALLEY 20 minutes away from me
Gambling is a destination, not a live service

RAKING it in ! Not yet but it's coming to a table near you. Online Casino Malaysia
Quick update on my break from Online Casino Malaysia. I'm back playing intermittently and really find that I’ve improved as a player in every aspect. Tilt still exists within and can do it's devilish damage but it's under control, hand reading skills have improved 10 fold and my luck is probably above average at the minute.
Mmm keep looking at the £25/50 10 seated NL on betfair it looks soooo juicy, however the odd multi and no more than 3 x 6-pacs a day for the moment. I say no more than 3 because I tend to find that more than 2hrs is too much at the poker table when focussing on a game. Multi’s I tend to not take notice too much of the table before the 1st couple of hours and music, TV etc are all good distractions.
At the minute Strictly (NO CASH) poker although I’m like an addict that thinks hey I’m clean I could play a bit of cash now I know I’m not ready yet; still e few creases to iron out. Losing 19k in a short period of time is a pisser but the manner in which it is lost is where I have learned a few things. Firstly, and undeniably even in the cold light of day I was on a miserable run of bad luck and bad cards (fact). However, secondly as a result I was not playing appropriate poker and one hand springs to mind which was the pinnacle of my tilty crap play.
Quick reflection coming:
I had witnessed dozens of premiums being busted and was pretty pissed to say the least, not alcohol BTW just playing pissed off (not good). I’m playing the 10/20 NL 10 seated cash and winning about £1500 so I have with my buy-in £3500 on the table and in late position I get dealt AA. Yes the best preflop starting hand possible, I remember when I got it thinking ooooh dear, anyway everyone folds round to ‘Rhaegar’ a Rock/solid player who frequents the Crypto tables who raises 4 x BB to £80. I feel I have to name the player here so that anyone who knows him will know what a Muppet play I made here. I smooth call and no other takers, see a flop 6 7 J Rhaegar bets £120 and I’m not messing here I re-raise to £240 to see where I am LOL. Rhaegar re-raises to £800 and I think SET SET SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET and proceed to re-raise all-in for all my stack – my AA will not be beat, it cant be beat, it’s lost too many times! Rhaegar calls with 6 7 and his 2 pair stand up as quick as I stand up to bang my head against the wall.
What have I learned from this and all the bad beats, A LOT. A lot about me in particular and a lot about poker which won’t be much to most but to me is a lot. I learned that OK I suffered terrible bad luck on occasion but had I not tilted the money I saved could have helped me earn it back. I lost 3k I didn’t need to here which is 1.5 buyin’s on 10/20 and if I add it all up I could have probably played through the bad run and came out on top like the top players do. Just an insight to my thinking here since having time out but obviously I could write forever with the amount of thinking I’ve been doing.
Back to now:
This blog has been a real reflection of my poker playing career and being able to look back on previous posts is a real eye opener and insight into the sometimes crazy view I have of events, especially when I was in 'Zombie' mode. In 'Zombie' mode I didn’t think it was tilt, it was everything else in my life the girlfriend, Kids, Dog, someone phoning me whilst in the middle of an important pots everyone but me basically. Playing like a twat was easy, it came natural. I looked for any reason I could to call instead of considering the opposite and well played like a twat. Also, I took the game serious and didn’t like the view one bit TY.
The only reason I have played the last couple of weeks is that a friend told me to check my account I may have some rake back and when I looked I had been credited with £300 so I though Ok I’ll have a dabble like the old days ‘bit of fun’ play. The account now has £3575 in it and I think Toshiwonka is back looking for some scalps!!!
The racehorse I bought MrToshiwonka 2yr old is doing really well and we have entered him for the £200,000 Super sprint @ Newbury in July so fingers crossed I’ll be in the winners enclosure with a bottle of the finest.
Good luck as always to anyone reading and be disciplined! LOOOOL
I would recommend a break to anyone feeling like the games against them it works wonders. I’ve lost a stone of poker weight as well. Only another 4 to go.

Toronto Poker Rooms
If you're looking for some poker action in Toronto, you're in luck. There are several great locations to play. Here are some of them.
Online poker in Ontario
Toronto poker tournament series is growing in popularity. The province is home to a number of popular sites. This means there are a variety of games for players of all levels. There is even a high-end club in Toronto, a great place to play poker. However, there is also a dark side to the poker scene.
Ontario is a huge jurisdiction with a population of over 14.6 million people. In addition to the city of Toronto, there are other major metropolitan areas. These include Ottawa, Hamilton and Mississauga.
Poker is a favorite pastime of many Canadians. But it can be difficult to find a good place to play. A few options are available, including some that offer free play.
The best online poker sites in Canada have no membership fees. Many of them offer a variety of different games, from Omaha to seven-card stud.
888poker
With a huge variety of games and stakes available, 888poker Ontario has plenty to offer players. The online poker room operates under the supervision of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. All the players in the room must be legally aged, and are required to adhere to all the applicable laws.
Players in Ontario can choose to play from a wide variety of poker variants, including No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha. In addition to standard cash games, the site also offers a few jackpot sit and go tournaments called Blasts. Depending on the number of players in the game, there are prizes up to 10,000 times the buy-in amount.
Players can also take advantage of a lucrative multi-level loyalty program. These rewards can be used to purchase tournament tickets or redeemed for a variety of prizes.
Binion's Cafe
Whether you are a local, a visitor or simply a poker enthusiast, Binion's Cafe is the place to be. They offer a good selection of games, including NL Texas Hold'em, no-limit hold'em and pai gow. You'll also find tableside food service, a cocktail bar and a small spa. Besides, there's a great hotel with rooms that rival many downtown hotels.
The first time I visited Binion's, I was impressed by the sheer number of tables and the quality of the poker. I have since visited this casino several times. It has become one of my favorite casinos in the city. There are over 70 tables to choose from, plus a full bar and restaurant to boot.
As far as a plethora of offerings goes, the largest room is located on the first floor, and features a nice mix of live action blackjack, roulette, poker, and slot machines. A nice touch is that the gaming area is split up into two sections. If you're a high roller, you can try your hand at the more upscale, high-stakes games.
Casino du Lac-Leamy
Casino du Lac-Leamy is a casino that is located in the Quebec region of Canada. It is a government-run casino. The property has a lot to offer, including an online gambling platform and a variety of restaurants and bars.
One of the biggest draws to the Casino du Lac-Leamy is the New Year's Eve celebration. On that day, the casino can draw upwards of 20,000 people.
Another big attraction is the Theatre du Casino. This venue has hosted several musicals and shows.
There are many games available at the Casino du Lac-Leamy, including Blackjack, Texas Hold 'em, Poker, Roulette and Baccarat. You can also find a large selection of slots, including popular games such as Cleopatra and Double Diamond.
The dining options at the Casino du Lac-Leamy are among the best in the country. They offer a variety of delicious options, including French cuisine.
Partypoker
Partypoker, the famous online poker site that became famous when it launched in 2001, is now available to Canadians. The company is owned by GVC Holdings, a multi-million dollar publicly traded company.
The site is a good place to play and offers a number of features, such as the option to download their software and a variety of game options. Aside from cash games and tournaments, partypoker also offers SPINS, an online gambling-based rewards program.
The company is well regulated by the appropriate government commissions. They also offer several customer support methods, including an email address and live chat.
Partypoker was the largest online card room prior to the advent of PokerStars. Although the company was branded as the king of the online gaming world, its success was limited by a lack of legality in the United States.

♡ · INTRO. * . IV / ?.
oh lawd she comin. hi gang ! i’d like to introduce my new kiddo , layla blanco . she’s a granddaughter of tyche and eris , and she’s a bit chaotic but in a different way from theo . i’d say her chaos is calculated heheh . also this is a very quick and short intro but i just wanna get it out and done with bc im gonna be busy tomorrow rip anyway , hope you enjoy !
THE BASICS
name: layla cornelia blanco nickname(s): lay , lays . somebody pls call her lucky charm she’ll be so annoyed . birthday: april 13th, 1996 ethnicity: white latina ( argentine - british ) birthplace: california , usa gender identity: cis female sexuality: pansexual / panromantic powers: disruption ( eris ) / probability manipulation ( tyche ) mixtape: she’s my colllar ( slowed ) / gorillaz , people i don’t like / upsahl , daisy / ashnikko , walk you home / sir chloe , talk show host / radiohead character inspiration: nanno ( girl from nowhere ) , beth harmon ( the queen’s gambit ) , layla by derek & the dominos , veronica sawyer ( heathers ) , yumeko jabami ( kakegurui )
THE MUSE
layla’s parents met in nemean lion years before her birth ; a daughter of tyche and a son of eris , the two fell in love during their time at nl and though it’s been long since their last visit , the campus has been a second home to layla ever since she was little --- for safety reasons , of course .
from a very young age , layla knew that she was special . her parents made a conscious effort to make sure the girl never lost sight of who she was and what she could do , and to always use her abilities for good . her father was particularly cautious of that , seeing as his daughter had the same capabilities for discord as he did , and knowing how much trouble he caused during his first few years at nl . because of that , layla has never felt out of control when it came to her abilities ; in fact , it was quite the opposite .
while her father’s side of the family was a bit more troublesome , her mother’s side was incredibly fun ! ever since she was a child , layla found herself interested in everything that had to do with luck , probability and chance , which eventually led to her fascination with one subject in particular: gambling .
around the age of twelve , she began gambling around nl . at first , the bets were little and simple: a pack of gum , a snack from just dough it or a meal at jake’s diner , things of the sort . at worst , she’d use her disruption power to make the loser unable to control their gifts for hours , which might have led to a little trouble a few times . however , as layla got older , the bets started becoming a little more extreme , often including large quantities of money . naturally , people lost interest in the games , especially since they were going against a granddaughter of tyche , and layla decided it was time for a change --- so she left nl for a while .
during her time away from campus , layla made money . a lot of money . poker and any other form of gambling had quickly become her favorite pastime , mainly because of the thrill of betting and risking it all , except she never lost to anyone . not because she used her powers to win , as the mere thought of rigging the games angered and disgusted her , but because it simply never happened . it could be frustrating at times , especially after people in the business started digging up information of her .
years after making a name for herself in casinos around the world and in the public poker scene , people started learning more and more about layla , who’d kept her godly heritage a secret until now . eventually , information leaked about the girl and on how one of her grandmothers was the goddess of fortune , which resulted in people calling layla a scammer , removing all sponsorships and opening multiple lawsuits against the girl ( which didn’t end up terribly for her , but that didn’t help fix her reputation either ) .
half a year ago , after her little scandal and as means of keeping herself out of trouble , layla returned to nl for the first time in a long while . she’s been keeping herself busy by working in the business department , striking big deals that bring in money and “playing” with the stock market . she swears she’s never cheated or rigged any game in her life , but until someone or something is able to prove her innocence , you won’t be finding her gambling anytime soon --- at least not in the public eye .
MISC.
she is so , so smart . above average IQ , definitely one of the best students in nl history besides the athena kids lmao . oh , and she definitely loves to remind people of just how smart she is . kind of a snob tbh .
knows a lot and has dirt on lots of people . she’s literally one of those people who just ends up eavesdropping on accident and then laughs about it .
s t o n kS.
she can play any card game , and most classics like chess , checkers , even eastern ones like shogi or majong . on the other hand , she hates most “modern games”, except for monopoly and clue / cluedo.
she legit never rigged any of her games , not even when she was tired and bored from winning so much . in fact , there was a time she purposefully indebted herself so that the games would become more exciting --- after all , she needed money .
kind of a hard person to befriend ? she won’t approach you unless you’re doing something she judges weird or a waste of time , but she will engage into conversation if you seem “smart enough” . again , she’s a bit of a snob .
kinda self destructive but shhh lets not go there just yet
will prank people by messing with their powers without them knowing . homegirl’s been bored okay this is how she keeps herself entertained besides stonks .
GIVE ME ALL THE PLOTS ! i’d like for her to have an actual friend who cares about her well being and wants her to get her shit together ( and she obvious cares about them in return ), someone she simply Does Not Give a Fuff about and has no problem saying it, an ex lover / ex fling ( could be super interesting considering she was gone for a bit ig ) , some sort of frenemy , some “ healthy competition “ of sorts , anything and everything !

I’m blasting ABBA in mourning and encourage you to join me
Many places are closing liquor stores, bars, and restaurants. This is very concerning for people who are dependent on alcohol as they are at high risk for withdrawal. Public health measures to mitigate this are necessary
The US-Canada border is now closed. Holy shit. Essential business is still allowed but still. Holy shit.
Cuba is working with China to test interferon-alpha as a potential therapy for the virus. Watch this space for further news.
I’m less optimistic about this one than the favipiravir I mentioned yesterday because interferons are a way less directed therapy but the trials will tell the story!
Vaccine trials continue in Seattle, United States. Authorities of the state of Washington are asking for healthy volunteers to join the trial.
Antibody trials are underway in the Netherlands.
The United States has a major shortage of testing supplies, still.
US immigration enforcement are a bunch of bastards. Still.
Italy has promoted a bunch of senior medical students to start practicing in the outpatient setting so more seasoned doctors can work in the hospitals.
As a senior medical student, this frightens me personally.
Virology Corner
Today’s question is: Why 6 feet of separation? How does that help? How is COVID-19 spread?
Let’s start with how COVID-19 is spread. It’s a respiratory virus, so it is spread by respiratory droplets, aka the garbage you breathe/cough/sneeze out.
A good hard sneeze won’t launch your eyeballs out, but it will launch nasty shit up to 6 feet away from you at a shocking speed. (This is why you should Dracula when you sneeze.)
6 feet is a great rule of thumb to keep people out of each other’s sneeze radius, so they can’t get in contact with each other’s respiratory droplets.
Regional News (if you want somewhere added just let me know. Don’t be shy!! I highly recommend you just skip to your area if you don’t wanna be overwhelmed.)

About this newsletter I’m Emily, I’m a 4th year med student w/ a degree in molecular biology. I started this because I’m an infectious disease and epidemiology nerd and also all my friends have questions & anxiety. Hi internet! The archive/proper website is located at coronaextranewsletter.wordpress.com. All this info is sourced from regional & national public health organizations, plus the WHO. It’s as up to date as humanly possible. I’ve been beaming information about this outbreak directly into my brain 24/7 but I still miss stuff. Please let me know if I miss something! Most public health departments stop updating their information around 4-5 PM local time on weekdays. That means that the earliest this will come out is around 6 PM Pacific time on weekdays going forward. On weekends things update more sporadically and earlier, so who knows what I’ll do then, but I’ll do my best. Jackie Lynn announce new album “Jacqueline”
PRE ORDER: https://ffm.to/jacqueline
Jackie Lynn are pleased to announce they have signed to Drag City and will be releasing their sophomore album Jacqueline on April 10th. Along with the announcement, the band have shared the album’s first single, the driving and hypnotic opening song “Casino Queen,” which is accompanied by a video directed by Krzys Piotrowski and the band’s Haley Fohr. The album is the follow-up to 2016’s widely acclaimed, self-titled debut. The band has also announced shows in their hometown Chicago, as well as in Brooklyn and Philadelphia, in addition to a European tour. See below for full list of dates.
Speaking on the origins of the song and video, Fohr states: “‘Casino Queen’ showcases a night in the life of Jacqueline. The song and video follow the letting go of an individual's underdog mentality, realigning it with the winner's place. What does it take to refocus one's internal mirror and become a Casino Queen? All in due time shall we each define ourselves prosperous by way of intuition, self belief, nearby shoulders, a bit of luck, and maybe a wig.”
youtube
Jackie Lynn is the fictional alter ego of singer/songwriter Haley Fohr who is also known for her indie folk project Circuit des Yeux. The debut told the story of Jackie's (of course fictional) life to date. With Jacqueline, Jackie Lynn returns and her continuing story is brought to us by Fohr, Cooper Crain, Rob Frye and Dan Quinlivan of Bitchin Bajas.

19, 20, 26 (for Wyoming and NL) 41
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
I don’t think I’ve ever truly ENDED a series, because there are a lot of things that I’m constantly working on, but I’d say that the one thing that I’ve wrapped up pretty well (but could always add more to) is Christmas in Wyoming, because we need to find out what happens when you’ve moved to Los Angeles… and why you’re so unhappy.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
No. I’m happy with the stories that I’ve written - maybe some of the drabbles or shorter one shots? But I’m not unhappy with them to the point that I’d actively go back and change anything. I do, though, sometimes think about going back through and editing the first chapter of HNH to be more consistent with the rest of it. When I wrote that, I didn’t think it was going to become what it did, and so I wrote it differently than I approached the rest.
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
Wyoming, NL
Wyoming:
So, the hardest thing for me in this was writing Logan opening up in a short time. He’s only there for two weeks, and it’s not just a vacation. He has a specific goal, and so he needs to balance going there for his purpose, and what he finds when he’s landed. Getting Logan’s character right is essential to me, and he needed to see that Reader wasn’t just going to let him walk all over her. He pushed, but she pushed right back. So the hard thing wasn’t his honesty, because we all know is IS honest - it was him forcing himself to be so open with someone that he desperately wanted something - two somethings - from. He knew there was a chance she was going to say no, and he also knew that there was the potential for him to lose a new friend, too - because of what he wanted and needed.
NL:
Writing Ryan breaking his wrist was horrible… but not as horrible as that moment when they leave each other as she’s getting into the cab and he walks back through the casino. That entire last portion was difficult, because they both had places to be and lives to lead, but them knowing that they were leaving each other? That after those few days, they were going to go back to being alone? Both of them trying to keep it together? That was hard. There’s a lot of personal stuff in NL, so there were other things that were really hard too - but that’s for another day.
41) What’s your favourite minor character you’ve written?
Liz and Sara are great. They’re funny, they have good ideas, they care about Reader… and they don’t give a shit that Ben is Ben, which is what everyone in that situation needs. I love bringing them into situations, because I know they’re both going to be a good time - and provide some much needed levity or advice.
I also am a BIG fan of Matt and Jack from Just a Place, because they’re good friends to Ryan, and have a very different perspective on life than Reader does - so they can help her when she’s feeling down.

DEATHSTARS were formed in Strömstad, Sweden in 2000 – born of a variety of influences ranging from black and death metal, to rock ’n’ roll and industrial. They’ve released four full-length studio albums to date; Synthetic Generation (2003), Termination Bliss (2006), Night Electric Night (2009), and The Perfect Cult (2014). The band has stated that Synthetic Generation was a bit of an experiment and challenge, the members all having come from underground extreme metal bands, which was more familiar territory at that point. Termination Bliss garnered the group immediate attention, the band touring with Cradle Of Filth in 2006 in its wake - whilst follow-up Night Electric Night launched them internationally, lauding them enormous praise and landing them a tour with Rammstein in arenas throughout Europe. Latest album The Perfect Cult saw them continue their impeccable run – welcoming their first ever North American tour, and sadly the departure of Cat Casino, who has now returned to the fold.
