thank you for tagging me again @ancient-namess i do need to be forced to sit down and write this fic. anyways i just wrote much more than three sentences so i‘m gonna share all of it (english version once again from a translator bc i‘m lazy and under the read more bc this post was getting too long)

So yeah, another sneak peak of Adam visiting Vincent after KdE (working title is „chaotic besties in slubice“ haha)

Im nächsten Laden geht es ähnlich wieder, nur das Vincent Adam dieses mal einfach direkt mit in die Umkleide zieht und den Vorhang hinter den beiden zuzieht.

„Was soll das?“, zischt Adam ihn an, versucht aber nicht zu fliehen. Vincent sieht das ganze als vollen Erfolg, denn wenn Adam wirklich gewollt hätte wäre er schon längst nicht mehr hier drin. Er hält die beiden schwarzen Kleider die er sich vom Ständer gepflückt hat.

„Zieh mal an.“

Adam verschränkt seine Arme vor der Brust und zieht eine Augenbraue fragend hoch. „Warum sollte ich?“

„Komm schon, wird bestimmt lustig.“ An Adams Körpersprache ändert sich nichts, also muss Vincent seine anderen Waffen hinzuziehen. „Ich verspreche dir, dass das hier der letzte Laden ist wenn du es machst.“

Adam reagiert nicht direkt aber Vincent bleibt geduldig und schaut ihn aufmerksam an bis er Adam schließlich ansehen kann das er aufgibt. Er streckt seine Hand nach dem Kleid aus und schaut Vincent schon wieder grimmig an. Nicht dass das was helfen würde, dafür kennt Vincent ihn echt viel zu gut.

„Na gut, gib her.“

Den Freudentanz, den er jetzt gerne aufführen würde, verkneift er sich lieber bevor Adam ihm doch noch wegläuft.

In the next shop it's similar, only this time Vincent just pulls Adam straight into the changing room with him and draws the curtain behind them.

"What are you doing?" Adam hisses at him, but doesn't try to escape.

Vincent considers the whole thing a complete success, because if Adam had really wanted to he wouldn't be in here anymore. He holds the two black dresses up that he plucked from the rack.

"Put it on."

Adam crosses his arms in front of his chest and raises an eyebrow questioningly. "Why would I do that?"

"Come on, it'll be fun." Nothing changes in Adam's body language, so Vincent has to call in his other weapons. "I promise you this will be the last shop we go to if you do it."

Adam doesn't respond immediately but Vincent remains patient and looks at him intently until he can finally see Adam giving up. He reaches out for the dress and gives Vincent another grim look. Not that it would help, Vincent knows him far too well for that.

"All right, give it to me."

He refrains from doing the happy dance he would like to do now, before Adam runs away from him.

A/N: ok im not a big rolo shipper but i was reminded of the existence of their deleted scene from dofp and i just HAD to write out what my brain come up with. i’ve never been a big fan of logan/jean anyways so i’ve also toned that down to further the rolo agenda that i’m pushing with this. it honestly isn’t too rolo centric bc, again, i have never been much of a rolo shipper until this idea popped into my brain and don't wanna butcher them too much but it works with the idea that their scene wasn’t cut from the movie. this is also pretty short bc i just wanted to write exactly what came to mind and i didn’t take much time to flesh the idea out. maybe i will in the future, who knows? i hope you like it <3 more x-men related fics are to come!

"When I make it back—if I make it back," he started, struggling to keep eye contact with the woman in front of him. "I'm the only one who's gonna remember this."

If you had told him 15 years ago that the love of his life would be Ororo Munroe, he would've laughed in your face. Not that being with her was unimaginable. Never that. But Logan didn't have a good track record with the people he found himself in love with. Rose. Kayla. Jean.

Jean. She was never his to begin with but after he lost her, he'd sworn off ever getting attached to anyone ever again. The pain was too much and every time he lost someone, it wore down his soul. But somehow, she had managed to break down his walls and show him how to love again. That love was worth feeling and having even if it meant he'd lose her eventually too, but he didn't think he'd be in this position again so soon.

He leaned down to rest his forehead against hers, his breath shaky as he took in the moment. He could save her—save everyone from the torment that wrought for the last decade or so. All the people they'd lost to a senseless war—he could bring them back. He would've stay here forever if he could. When she pulled away, she brought a hand to his cheek. "I won't have to miss you then," she whispered, a small smile on her face despite the heartbreak between them at the situation. Instantly, he rushed forward and pressed his lips against hers, tears slowly streaking down his face. When they pulled apart, he took a deep breath. “You got this," she whispered, tears slowly filling her own eyes before she walked away. It took everything in him to let her go. Gaining his composure, he wiped the stray tear away and made his way to where Charles, Erik, and Kitty were.

It'd been a hard couple of days. Who knows how long it's been for the people waiting with him 50 years from now? The fact that he was still here meant Kitty was still kicking, but much longer did they have left? He'd prevented Raven from being captured, but instead of making things better, it was as if he made it worse. Erik had betrayed them in Paris and Raven was still hellbent on killing Trask. Now he sat across from the younger version of Charles as they flew to Washington D.C in a desperate effort to stop Raven once and for all, reflecting on the present he was in and the future he was from. "Whatever happens today, I need you to promise me something. You've looked into my mind and you've seen a lot of bad, but... you've seen the good too. The X-Men. Promise me you'll find us." He hadn't thought of Jean and Scott in ages but the memory of them caused his chest to tighten. And Ororo. Oh, Ororo.

It was times like these that his healing factor felt more like a curse than a blessing. He was in a perpetual state of drowning and Erik made sure he couldn’t save himself with the rebar he had curved throughout his body. He’d never gotten over the debilitation that came with being submerged in water. No matter how much time had passed, his mind still convinced itself that he was back in Stryker’s custody, drills and syringes holding him in place has his bones were replaced with metal. His mind bounced back in forth from the torture and to the people he came to call his family. He was supposed to fix the past so that everyone in the future could live. As he hit the bottom of whatever body of water he landed in, he couldn’t help but think they sent the wrong man back. Sure, he was the only one who could physically make the trip, but he was never the world saving type. He ruined things which is what he did here instead. As he faded into unconsciousness, there was only one thought on his mind. I’m sorry, Ro.

He woke up with a gasp. Where was he? Last thing he remembered he was drowning over and over again. He took a gander at his surroundings. It looked like his room—the room he had in the mansion. Was Charles able to do it? Getting up, he walked over to the mirror across the room. White streaks by his temples. Pulling his fist up, he pushed his claws out. Metal. He was back. 

Just outside his door, he heard the hustle and bustle of children making their way down the hall. When he walked out the door, he caught the sight of Marie and Bobby hand-in-hand. If Marie was here, who else was back? The fullness of the mansion was overwhelming. As he walked the halls, the sight of familiar faces made his heart swell. The sight of Kitty and Peter teaching a class was a sight to see. Both of them were just kids the last time they were in the mansion. He never thought he’d see them standing where he once stood teaching another generation about the world’s history. As he turned to leave the doorway he stood at, his breath caught in his throat as Hank walked toward him. “Morning, Logan. Late start?”

He couldn’t say anything in response, too stunned by Hank’s mere presence. The further he walked through the house, he held back tears. He’d been able to do it. “Hi Logan,” a voice called from the top of the steps. He knew that voice. Another voice greeted him. “Logan.” It couldn’t be. As the two figures made their way down the steps and their silhouettes came into view, his heart dropped. There they were, hand-in-hand as if nothing bad had happened. "Because it never did," he reminded himself.

"Jean," he managed to choke out. "Scott?"

Scott scoffed, his eyebrows furrowing at Logan's usage of his actual name. "Scott? What's wrong with you today?"

Before he could answer, he felt something—someone poking around in his head. Shortly after, Jean was dragging Scott away, yelling a "See you later" over her shoulder followed by a quick hush as she dismissed Scott's questions. Then as the bell rang and the halls emptied as the kids ran off to the mess hall, he zoned in on the open door of the room he was looking for. The sight of her took his breath away. She looked the same as when he left her, now wearing an all-white pantsuit instead of the black stealth suit they both found themselves wearing more often than they'd liked in the old present. The old present. Were they even together in this new timeline? With Jean and Scott alive, did he ever get his head out of his ass? It was the war that brought them together after all. As he approached, he could only hope that this new version of him didn't fuck up like he had. Hearing his footsteps, she turned and greeted him with a smile. "Hey Logan."

"Ro..." He hadn't realized how off putting his actions would seem to everyone else until Ororo's face scrunched with worry. He was the only who remembered after all. "Are you okay?" The last time he saw her flashed in his mind. 

I won't have to miss you, then.

"Yeah. Yeah, I think it is."

"Okay, well... I'll see you later?"

He nodded. Unsure of where they stood, he held himself back from pulling her against him. Today was just a normal day for everyone else. There wasn't a reunion for her to have. But then his worries washed away when she stopped and placed a quick kiss to his cheek as she departed. Somehow this win was bigger than getting all of the loved ones he had once lost back. Taking a second to compose himself, he walked further into Charles’ office. "Professor," he called out.

"Logan, don't you have a class to teach?"

"Class?" He taught here? 

"Aye, history," the professor replied as he moved his chair around the desk. 

"History?" How ironic. The man who lived through a past that, now, never happened was in charge of teaching children about a past he had no knowledge of. "Actually, I could use some help with that." Charles' eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Help with what? Last I checked alcohol shouldn't affect you to the point of memory loss let alone at all, Logan."

He chuckled at the other man's comfortability to joke around with him. After spending so much time with the professor's younger self, it was refreshing to be back in the presence of the man he grew to call family. "Everything after 1973 is a little foggy." At the mention of 1973, Charle's eyes widened. "I think the history I know is a little different."

"Well, I’ll be damned. Welcome back," the professor whispered. "You and I have a lot of catching up to do."

it would be a tie between lavender and sunflowers. also i used to have blue as my fave and i used  to hate hate hate pink so i think accepting pink as a color

and growing out of my blue phase naturally leads to purple, it all makes sense

and then getting applauded by the police for finding his wife on his own instead of sharing his intel.

also the wife was about to divorce him but now she's traumatised and he's her hero so i guess they live happily ever after :)

danny phantom season 2, ep 12-16 thoughts! these episodes, in comparison to the first 10 or so, felt way more laid back and low-stakes, which I appreciate sometimes. I didn't appreciate how lazy jack's halfa design was in masters of time, it made me so annoyed I redesigned it. 👎🏻 u_u

-I knew danny wanted to be an astronaut, but the bowling tidbit is like. yes give me more useless info abt these characters, I love tiny details that make them feel more human, and im glad hes got hobbies aside from ghost stuff, we dont really see a lot of that!!! (I mean, we knew 'fun' danny from when he split himself in half liked bowling, so obv it makes sense he LIKES it, but hes very GOOD at it. so proud of him, bowling king) val calling him neil armstrong and them teasing each other. LOVE THAT.

The air surrounding her was thick with anticipation, but Y/N was most deliciously alone.

She hadn’t seen Draco since the night in the dungeons with Rena, when she’d ran away like a child. The memory still made her cringe—who does that sort of stuff anyways?

But when she had returned to her dorm and retold the story to Rena,things took an interesting turn. Her friend’s words still echoed around in her head--No, Y/N, you have to stop playing games....all you’re doing is embarrassing yourself now...he already knows, and he’s still seeking you out...it’ll feel better after it’s over, you won’t need to hide from him anymore...

Something snapped Y/N out of her inner conflict: footsteps, sounding down the corridor just a few seconds away. She swallowed, shut her eyes, and leaned back against the wall, secretly praying that he couldn’t see her.

“Sorry I’m late, I got a little caught up,” Malfoy greeted, stopping in front of her. “What’s gotten into you? Stop leaning on the wall, there’s probably a whole colony of spiders behind the plaster.”

Y/N squeaked at that statement, throwing herself off of it and glaring at him once she regained her composure. “Spiders don’t live in plaster.”

“You seemed mighty convinced otherwise a moment ago. I thought Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart.”

“I am!”

Malfoy looked amused at that, his glowing eyes twinkling and the sides of his mouth turning up. “Well, then...if you’re so smart, did you finally figure out what the mirror was?”

Fuck. 

She was supposed to be the one to bring that up, not him! Y/N turned bright red before she could help herself, her mouth agape and eyes wide. 

“What?”

“You heard me,” he said, cocking his head to the side. Another smirk passed over his features as well of a realization. “Oh, you did, didn’t you! That’s why you’re being so painfully awkward and making this worse for both of us.”

“Wha--no!” Worse for both of us? Us? What did that mean?

Y/N gulped again, dropping eye contact with him to look at the floor. 

“Y’know, you can come clean,” he mused. “I’m not going to tell anyone.”

“What have I to tell you?” 

Draco rolled his eyes. “And people tell me I’m the most difficult person in our year.”

“I’m not difficult!”

“Sure you aren’t.”

They began walking without another word, casually and akin to their other round shifts, but Y/N’s mind was racing. Did he mean it when he said he wouldn’t tell anyone? Of course he didn’t, he was the worst person in the history of Hogwarts. Well, that was hyperbolic. 

She stole a glimpse at him when they turned a corner and she was sure he wasn’t going to catch her, drinking in the sight of him wearing a white dress shirt with rolled up sleeves with his Slytherin tie looped haphazardly around his neck, his collar slightly undone. He must’ve washed his hair because there was no longer any gel in it. Some of his uniquely light strands had dared to stretch out over his brow, just barely catching the torchlight of the corridor.

“Is there something on my face?” Draco drawled, giving her a lazy flash of the corner of his eyes. 

“Er..” She pondered for a millisecond, coming up with a rather idiotic plan. “Yes. An eyelash.”

Draco took a swipe at his cheekbones, his eyebrows knit together in suspicion. He glanced down at his fingers curiously. 

“You know, it’s funny, because I didn’t happen to feel anything there.”

“I don’t think that eyelashes are the most noticeable things, I’m not shocked.”

He let out a small laugh at that. “So you had to look closely to notice it, I take it?”

Y/N blushed again but hid it by brushing her hair out of her face. “Stop projecting,” she dared, looking anywhere but his eyes.

“I--what? Projecting?”

Draco’s sputtering would’ve been comical if his tone wasn’t so taken aback and surprised...something that poked Y/N harder than she would’ve liked it to.

“Kidding,” she quickly said, turning away from him to focus on walking straight. 

“Mhm,” he mumbled rather discontentedly, but when she stole another glance at him, she could see a light filter of amusement settled over his face. 

“You’re being awfully bold, you know,” he mused.

“What?”

“Accusing me of projecting,” he said, “when you were the one who saw me in the Mirror of Erised.”

While nothing he said was new information, the very fact that he dared to utter the name of the mirror startled her. 

“I don’t know what you’re gett--”

“Can you just be  civil for once and admit it?” Draco drawled, turning around to lock his eyes on hers. “You can stop playing games now. I know you know. Rena told me.”

“Rena...she...what?” Y/N choked out, the connection between her mind and her mouth failing. “What did she tell you?”

His painfully calm composure painfully contradicted her flustered one as he smoothly shifted his weight to lean on the wall next to her. “Oh, nothing important, really. Just everything.”

“And what’s that?”

“Ooh, why the fuss?” he prodded. “She told me everything. Is there something that you’re afraid of me knowing?” 

The torchlight above them caught the slightest glint of amusement in his eyes, something that infuriated Y/N to the point where her embarrassment melted away.

“Well,” she snarled, “If you’re trying to make me fancy you less, you’re certainly putting forth quite the effort.”

All movement from the Slytherin ceased as he gaped at her, the amusement in his eyes now completely gone. “You....wait...”

“So she didn’t tell you everything,” Y/N responding dryly, allowed herself to lean back up against the wall. 

“I thought she did. I thought you were being honest, though.”

“Honest when?”

“When you said you hadn’t seen me the last time you went to go see it.”

Y/N allowed her eyes, which were previously glued shut, to crack open just the slightest. The sight of Draco Malfoy awkwardly wringing his hands just a foot or so away greeted her. 

“Hm. Whatever. It doesn’t matter anyways.”

She saw his throat bob as he swallowed hard before regaining his regal composure.

“Er, yeah. That’s true. Can we get on to our rounds? My feet hurt and I want to go to bed.”

“Whatever you say,” she muttered, pushing herself off the wall rather unceremoniously. It’s not like it mattered, anyways. He knew, and he didn’t seem like he had any plans with her included. 

final a/n: whoooooaaaa boy. so i wrote the first few paragraphs in the beginning of the month, and finished the rest of it over a span of time. i have not edited, i have not tagged because i’m tired and just want to get this out there. there WILL be a part 5 and maybe even a part 6. i kinda want to use the fact that they are allowed to be unsupervised in the wee hours of the night to my advantage (no smut, but you know, fluff). i’m sorry that this one wasn’t nearly as good as the one’s i’ve done before. i have another fic i’m thinking of writing soon as well that i’ll most likely be doing over the weekends. once 2019 is over and all my college apps are in, chances are that i’ll have a lot more time to be writing on here :)

alanna was born heir to the d'alessio family which came with the billion dollar dynasty that her parents created . 

her dad is an italian government official  but they grew up in ny basically bc her dad is an ambassador/representative for italy  &  her mother is a super model who also wanted to raise her kids here having lived here her whole life , and so they did . 

she had everything handed to her on a silver platter and her parents expected nothing but success from her because of how wealthy they were, they knew they would never have to worry about providing for her and her siblings , and so they spoiled her with whatever she asked for and more

but that came with a price, she was expected to do everything they wanted of her, go to an ivy league college, follow in one of her parent’s career footsteps

alanna did just that, she got amazing grades in high school and was head of many student clubs, organized prom, got almost perfect on sat’s and exams, and busted her ass to get into a good college despite the fact that her parents could’ve easily gotten her a spot if she didn’t do as well as she did

her life was going so well, she had the perfect boyfriend, perfect group of friends, was on her way to brown university in a couple of months, her parents and her couldn’t have been in a better spot with their daughter

the last thing they expected was for someone, a stranger, to get their hands on their daughter . a week after her 18th birthday , she’s walking to school on a monday morning and before she knows what’s happening , there’s something over her head and she’s being dragged into a van and taken from her life

basically her dad had some shady dealings with the italian mob & didn’t pay his debts to them for some time - so they kidnapped alanna in retaliation for that

some people know about it as obviously, being as famous as her family is, it was on the news at the time, and everyone she went to high school with knew what happened so sometimes it can be hard to avoid it

she wants to forget - here comes her secret - she got into drugs after the kidnapping and it quickly spiraled out of control , now she can’t seem to function without them because they’re the only thing that make her feel normal and make the memories fade

1. If you could travel one place in the world where would you travel? hmmm. this is a very difficult question bc i dont think about this very often. i guess canada, to visit one of my friends who lives there.

2. What do you do in your free time away from sims? hang out with friends, listen to music, make music (link to my music tag on my main blog, bc why not), i also draw sometimes but not very often these days, i used to draw a lot of comics.

3. What other games do you play besides the sims? uhh... spyro reignited (fave), terraria, dragon age, death road to canada (i have only gotten to canada once in that game and never again since), stardew valley, other stuff i cant think of. i also play a lot of tabletop rpgs because im a turbo nerd

4. How tall are you? i’m actually quite short, standing at an itty bitty 5′2 i can’t reach the highest cabinets in my kitchen and it makes me angry

5. One random interest of yours? i’m very deeply interested in psychology, but the idea of being, like, a therapist or a counselor in real life scares me because i wouldn’t be good at it. so instead i just write stories and deep-dive into the psychology of fictional people sdfghsdfh

hi hello everyone! as usual, i’m back with another tutorial that was requested by an anon to recreate a couple of posters of mine! if you find this helpful, please give this post a like and/or reblog. and if you ever want a tutorial of something, feel free to request!

note: this is how i learned how to do this and it’s the easiest way for me. feel free to add/change my steps as you use this tutorial.

okay so we’re gonna start off super simple. all you have to do is find an image of the person you want. keep it serious, as close to a side profile as you can, and make sure it’s dark. unfortunately, jessica alba didn’t have many pictures of what i was looking for so i ended up settling for this image.

she had the exact look i wanted so i ended up using it. so i cropped the picture down to just capture her face. the crop settings i use for all of my posters are 512x800. and when i readjust the size, i put the top portion as 900x1405 or whatever it automatically adjusts to. the first part is def 900 bc it’s a safe number quality in my opinion.

anyways, since the background is too light, i decided to add a black background and place it underneath the layer of jessica. after that i add a vector mask on jessica’s image and i carefully erase the background with a soft brush and i lower the opacity when i get to her hair so it blends in more smoothly.

then i added some brightness/contrast layers to darken/bright areas and make it all seem more seamless blending if that makes sense. this step is more optional and based on preference tbh.

after that, i slap on a couple of psds and play around with the settings and opacities to find the right combo im looking for. if you’re wondering what psds i used, all can be found in my psds tag which is here. i also added a selective color on top to add more purple tones as well. you can do that by changing the blue and cyan hues.

once you found the right coloring, you can add the text of “avenge the fallen” right on top. since im a lazy hoe, i actually googled for a png of the text and just erased the excess parts i didn’t want.

and then viola! that’s it. you can add/change anything you want to make it suit you more.

RIGHT POSTER TUTORIAL ↴

okay this is definitely something you HAVE to play around and be patient with.

for starters, find a good png of your faceclaim. since, again, im a lazy hoe, i used the same png of jessica i’ve used three times already, but do i care??? not really. anyways, once you got your png, find posters of the endgame promos. and as mentioned before in the left poster, i used the crop sizes 512x800 and readjust the image size as 900x1405.

i used three different ones for this particular edit: bruce, nebula, and okoye. i start off with having bruce as my main background and added the png of jessica on top of it. 

i used free transform to resize jessica and added a vector mask to erase any unwanted parts. i carefully erased away jessica to show the avengers endgame promo and the cinema date thingy bc i thought it would look better than to get red of it tbh.

once i erase what you wanted, i added the other two posters underneath jessica’s png and played around with the eraser tool to make sure it just showed jessica and no one else. make sure to add a vector mask for every image you’re erasing so that if you accidentally mess up, you can just use the paint brush and fix your mistake.

so here’s what my poster looks like after i do that.

after that, i added so many adjustment layers such as selective coloring, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, and even used the paint brush a little bit to get the right coloring i wanted. personally, i wish i colored jessica a bit more so it could match the canon posters a bit more but it is what it is and i’m still proud of it. 

and tadaaa, you finished and here’s the final product!

ive been trying 2 make a post abt david berman fr the past 24 hrs not even for my own benefit but bc i feel like bc of the person he was + what he did fr me + many others i am obliged 2 deliver some sort of testament or sth i cant not create anything for him + i dont have many options open 2 me in terms of how 2 honour him. when i found out i was @ work + i left a couple hours later 2 go down 2 this grotto 2 the blessed mother mary in a nearby park + i prayed on it + it was like a rare occasion of feeling like prayer wasnt enough + i think its bc prayer is fr me + given how much DCB has done for me i shld do sth for him. theres not rlly anything i can do so until i think of sth better im jst gna make a post semi-articulating his greatness + hopefully someone who sees this + doesnt kno him will now kno tht 2 days ago an incredibly special + strong + kind man died. i kno it was important 2 him 2 leave an impact + i’ll try my best 2 always help w that from now on. 

 this is a new kind of grief. when i went thru his tag yesterday there were like 3 posts by different ppl abt how he had saved their lives when they were going thru rough times + he was definitely like a key component of my survival when i was a teen. + im struggling to think of anyone who balanced despair + hopelessness so well w humour his lyrics cld make me laugh + some of his songs were so feel good even while mapping the horrors of existence w/ this cutting accuracy that few im familiar w/ have ever matched. he was like simultaneously confirming u were right to fear everything u feared, but then also being like. shit theres still stuff to laugh abt. theres so much u can enjoy. (is the problem that we can't see or that the problem is beautiful to me?)

i keep thinking of new lyrics + having my heart broken all over again. “folks who’ve watched their mother kill an animal know that their home is surrounded by places to go.” there was a review fr his newest album which said they were tempted to engage in rlly lazy music reviewing, by jst quoting a dozen of his lyrics instead of actually saying anything themselves. another piece said tht it was a serious struggle choosing which lyrics to share bc they were all so powerful. bill callahan tweeted ‘the world is a david berman lyric’. theres also this ch*rles darwin quote abt charles lyell, where he says the book lyell wrote ‘altered the whole tone of one’s mind, and therefore that, when seeing a thing never seen by Lyell, one yet saw it partially through his eyes’. berman definietely taught me a lot abt seeing the world + like, finding meaning + connexion w banal, unpretty things (the darwin quote also reminds me of a line from bermans poetry: there were no new ways to understand the world/ only new days to set our understandings against. now tht we won’t get any more insight from him, we’re jst gonna have to keep reusing what hes already given us to understand the coming times). before i was on the joos/mountains binge id been in a built to spill phase, + they have a lyric like "u can take the world apart to figure out how it works" (not verbatim) + DCB did a more thorough job than i can think of witnessing from many others. i feel like trying 2 describe him almost sullies his legacy bc no words will ever b able to match his own. u cant find adequate language 2 describe them bc they took language 2 unprecedented heights. 

im fighting off the urge of making this abt me but i’ll note this once: it is fr me + fr all the other fans particularly...idk...unsettling? shocking? having this happen a month after the release of his 1st album in over a decade + a week before he was supposed 2 start touring. prior 2 this news id been listening to the joos + to purple mountains on repeat fr the first time in ages bc i was so excited abt his come back. + coinciding w that was the fact tht the last couple weeks say i have fr unrelated reasons been enduring some of the heaviest suicidality in months. having him take his life honestly feels like losing someone who was fighting along side me. 

i think a combination of factors make this such a deeply felt injustice, the first being how he so deserved peace. i halfway remember a conversation w my brother when i was like 16, + we were saying how the silver jews jst made u root fr him, u jst wanted him to overcome all the obstacles he was facing. another but similar reason this hits hard is bc i hold myself off from forming any sort of personal connection w celebrities or public figures but never felt the need 2 do that w him bc he never seemed 2 fit in those categories. he never toured + rarely gave interviews + was out of the business completely fr eleven years + was never anywhere close to being rich. i also jst trusted that he was as kind + genuine + selfless + loving + brave as he came across in the rare interview + in his music + in his fan interactions + in the anecdotes shared abt him by friends or colleagues (who always also seemed to be friends, anyway). his loved ones have said he understood how important his music was to ppl + i rlly hope he did, fully. on twitter a fan shared this email he sent them abt the recovery process fr addiction after they reached out 2 him while in detox. that was a special kind of honesty + love + kindness + bravery. 

everything is heartbreaking in retrospect, which is unsurprising considering the topics of his music + poetry, but even the lighthearted stuff too. complementing the above linked tweet, this very sweet funny charming email he sent a fan tht they posted on twitter is almost unbearable fr its inclusion of the line, ‘its good to be remembered’. he was such a special person + he has done so much + deserved so much that its not right or just of me 2 keep all these thoughts + feelings to myself. he deserves to have them put out in the world in recognition of how deeply special he was.
