so bluesky is clearly going out of the 'oh this is neat and small!' phase and its becoming mainstream enough that i can feel it turn into twitter lmao. not by the bluesky team themselves (so far) but defo by the community. Tumblr is waayyyy friendlier and my dash way more managable

The reactions on this hellsite to tumblr polls has been wild. I have seen 3 main uses of it so far and it that doesnt sum up the general vibe of this website I don't know what does.

i can't believe i didn't even write it in my caption... but the side profile pic of diana was exclusively taken to point out the fact that she DOES indeed still have freckles (re: her appearances in the comics) and that i will die a freckled diana burnwood truther.

absolutely imagining that the reason they aren't as prominent, aside from like... art style differences, is that her makeup blots them out (which i have experience with too.. i hate wearing foundations for that reason; it's why i prefer bb cremes) and makes them appear fainter/outright erases them 😔

but back to the photos. look at this

those aren't just pores, babes! those are freckles :} very faint (again, foundation blotted) freckles!

and if you've no idea of diana's comic appearance, i'll pull images across all volumes of birth of the hitman by christopher sebela; art by jonthan lau and ariel medel because that's like... the biggest comic line (and only one? i'm not sure of all the hitman literature out there tbh)

gonna delete this later bc i know it’s unproductive to screenshot / namedrop and i actually am thinking the best approach would just be to privately share this thought w the dev who posted this in a possibly futile attempt to effectively advocate for the change i want to see (#worktag2 lol). but im workshopping it here w my beloved mutuals first as i always do which is kinda shooting myself in the foot given that the devs can probably see that but whatever. my thought is like… i get it. i really do. i get that this place needs to stay afloat and some of that is gonna involve sacrifice or something from everyone involved. but… why would you try to snuff out the things that make this place what it is and just make it like all the other places. why would you not even take into account how the changes are going to impact EXISTING users who are loyal even if they don’t pay. people aren’t going to come to tumblr for more tiktok and instagram. they’re going to come here for tumblr. for the anonymity and the customization and whatever. so like i just don’t get it. why is the solution to this problem to experiment with changes **that existing users won’t like** and not to listen to what existing users want and do more of it bc other ppl likely will want that too.
