we met through ao3 and tumblr! i was voraciously eating her fic, 'a murderer in the subway', and since i was commenting a lot she messaged me on tumblr to say she'd liked my stuff for a while. her vibes were so immaculate i instantly started clinging to her like a horrible little wiry stray cat and now she cannot get rid of me no matter how hard she tries.

there's a guy who i dont work with but who works from my building as a consultant for a job-center type organization, and whenever he comes in he like. sets such a good example of patience, compassion, good manners, and...i dont know, gentleness that it makes me try harder not to be irritable or impatient with patrons. two totally different jobs, we never even speak unless he's asking for the stapler or we're saying hi and bye on his way in and out of the building, but every thursday good old boring average chris shows up to set up his laptop at one of our public tables and meet clients, and he's so goddamn nice i'm like okay i have to be nice too . so thanks chris

#im usually so short-tempered at work these days i just get so huffy when i have to interact and guide ppl through shit . but it's . idk #i think he gets his frustrations out in a more productive way bc i overheard him on the phone the other day #organizing a wheelchair rugby game . apparently he's on a team. i would never have taken him for a rugby guy. so mild mannered #he really is the most average looking man on the planet but there is a slight slyness to his resting expression bc he has one lazy eye #i think i have a little bit of a crush on him #the circ desk is very tall because patrons will loom over us otherwise so unless im standing up i do not even see him come in #you just hear a rattling noise and you're like oh chris is here whats up as he rolls by #from opposite sides of the particle board. sometimes make eye contact thru the book drop slot #its the most consistent part of my thursdays. out of touch. when your not around. i may have a crush on job center chris #it would never go anywhere. he's like in his forties i think and guy like him. probably married . but i can think my thoughts

sorry this took so long, im actually about to go to sleep but i thought of your ask after writing my write up on joost kleins sudden popularity. i also have this massive assignment due in a week and i’ve hardly filmed a thing so theres that.

your answer isn’t as exciting though, but it might clarify my post. before going on exchange to the netherlands i saw a video where someone had gotten everyone to sign a flag of their host location. i had a spare dutch flag my ex gave me (the same ex that is flying to nl as we speak) and thought id give her a second life. so your answer is actually the friends i made along the way :) as cheesy as it sounds.

i guess the reason why i connected that to europapa is because that song speaks of a world/a europe where everyone is connected and has no borders. and i guess thats kinda what happens on exchange. you connect with people from all over the world, you live with them in some cases, and you try and find yourself in a foreign country. we’re all human in the end. and they’re all on my flag of the country where i met them.

oh man i am running out of time!!!!!!!

#looking at my calendar feeling so stressed i’m running out of time #and so many people are like all of a sudden wanting to catch up before i go #tried to throw a going away party but half the people can’t come #and of course they wanna see me another time before i go #i’m working real hard to fit in the people i want to see before i go #like there’s some people that really just take priority #sorry to my other friends.. not to sound horrible but sometimes i really just have too many friends #there’s not enough time to see them all especially when they’re all in different groups #and in between all of that i have to do all of mt last minute organising and packing #feeling overwhelmed lol… friday is my last day of work i think i’ll probably cry #it’s so crazy i’m gonna be jobless for the first time since i was 15 #anyway this is all A LOT!!!! i think if i was just moving interstate or something it wouldn’t be a big deal but im not gonna see most #of these people for 2 years cuz i’m literally moving to the opposite side of the planet lol #p
