one thing that took me embarrassingly long to learn is "sometimes when people say things, they will not be true."

I used to tell people about this revelation and they'd be like yeah.....duh.....but like, why wouldn't my base assumption be that you're communicating to me in a straightforward manner. anyway, I get scammed a lot.

i went to the campus today for a meeting with my supervisor. since its winter break, she gave me some small tasks to do until august and we also planned some things for the next semester - especially my courses: archaeological theory II, research proposal analysis, ethnographical theory, archaeology and communities, but also some lab work. in august my weeks are going to be WILD! but i'm very excited :)

i love being on campus, not only because i feel like a real scientist but its so productive to be in the library, in the class, having coffee with colleagues...

PLUS, i'm reading and annotating Emma, by Jane Austen! i'm loving this book so much!
